thinking a bit more abt alicia
(note: this’ll probably be updated but ive been working on this for a while and just want it to be DONE. Also i have NOT spellchecked this so apologies for any mistypes or incorrectly spelled word's (and grammar), but i am happy with it right now so here :3)
Small Overview: Alica ‘Cheetah’ Norris is my rainbow 6 siege oc. She’s a three speed one armor attacker and her ‘skill’ is a dart gun (the darts have a agent in them that causes temporary paralysis)
Small information thing that i dunno how to title: She’s 5’6, uses she/they, and is mixed (Latina/white, but she grew up in a mostly white American family so she’s not really in touch with her heritage).
Weapons: unsure what weapon she’s gonna use specifically but probably an assault riffle of some sort. Extremely unsure on secondary and gadgets (though probably flashbangs or frags)
rest under the tags bc LENGTH
Background/Past Experience Revamp: as ive said before, she’s a hostage negotiator. Except im changing her background quite a bit (she was part of the American ATF as a field agent before becoming a hostage negotiator but upon further research, she was part of SWAT (after a few years of being a patrol officer) after failing to get into the FBI and, despite how many of her instructors viewed her as mildly incapable due to ✨crippling anxiety✨(shes just like me fr), she managed to prove that she was in fact highly competent and able to defuse situations without too much training prior hence how she became a hostage negotiator at the age of 35 (shes older now so yay) and, despite not being military fbi, her skills on the field caught Rainbow’s attention, hence how she got in).
(fun fact: most of her scars actually come from setting up barbed wire, she hasnt had a lot of experience with it so she ended up cutting up her hands and lower arms when trying to learn it.)
Personality Revamp: While she’s still incredibly anxious, I’ve made her way more capable on the field. While off the field, she’s quite literally the definition of a ball of anxiety with legs, on the field the adrenaline steadies her nerves and throws her into the correct headspace to fight, though it’s kind of like a light switch. One moment she’s quietly freaking out and the next she appears completely calm and is talking strategy.
Counters: i dunno why ive just been thinking about this quite a bit 😭 Kure - I mean. She operates 2 robots. Im not an expert on robotics (far from it, i literally want to become an air traffic controller DO NOT QUOTE ME ON ANYTHING I YAP ABT) but im pretty sure that they’d be immune to a dart of paralytic fluid (unless maybe Alicia hits it in the right spot, and even then it’d be damaging the actual robot). Doc - Kind of in the sense that his stim pistol can reduce the affect of the dart (especially on himself) but im not 100% on this yet. Fenrir - This is more ‘lore’ based than game based but I imagine that Fenrir’s dread mines affect Alicia’s performance (aka exacerbating her already present anxiety). I was thinking about it and thought that the idea of Alicia nerfing herself via failed reloads would be really interesting! And then the idea that Fenrir’s dread mines (since they affect the mind for a short period of time) exist, what if Alicia has a chance of failing a reload while in the affected area, the chance increasing the longer one spends in the area.
Relationships: (Alicia is AroAce so none of these are romantic :3) Quite literally terrified of 90% of people on base. Most notably all the Russians, Zero, and Ash. She’s friendly with Blitz and Mozzie and acquainted with Fenrir (mostly due the fact that she has enough confidence in his loyalty to Rainbow) and Doc as she’s part of Wolfguard and likes being semi-acquainted with her team leader. (She is trying to expand the amount of people she’s acquainted with but it’s kinda hard when you’re scared of most everyone.)
Backstory: Okaaay Alicia’s backstory wasn’t really defined in the past but since my writing skills are better now, im working on it a bit more :D
Alicia was adopted by her parents (she doesn’t know her bioparents nor does she have any real interest in finding them) when she was 4. Her parents, however, were killed in a hit-and-run incident when she was 12, her aunt (Aurelia Norris)) then took custody of her (fun fact: both Aurelia and Alicia have poliosis!).
At the age of 18, she went into college for a degree in criminal psychology. After receiving her degree, alicia applied to her local police department (and the FBI but she was rejected, obviously), managed to become a patrol officer, and eventually joined SWAT where she proved her ability to defuse hostage situations in a pinch (despite almost everyone not believing it due to the fact that alicia was incredibly jumpy and panicky) hence her promotion of sorts to a crisis negotiator (that mostly focuses on hostage situations).
at the age of 32, she caught the attention of a few rainbow recruiters and after a bit of digging, she wasn’t considered for recruitment. It was only a year later when Rainbow was working with her unit and they finally got to see her operate, hence how she, after being recommended by her commanding officers, ended up in Rainbow.
Of course, there was a very large gap between her and the others as she was a crisis negotiator from a random ass town in who the fuck knows where (not me, thats for sure) America while these guys are the best of the best of their respective militaries (She does always try to keep up but she’s still a little behind on a few things) and that combined with her anxiety around change and these new people just kinda left her as a outsider (not that she really minded. It hurt sometimes, sure, but she already didnt talk a lot so..).
Callsign: Alicia got her callsign (Cheetah) from her speed, mostly. Cheetahs, while fast, are incredibly anxious, hence why people thought it was a good idea. Alicia hasnt really ever had a callsign so she just kinda rolled with it because what else was she to do. (She’s still not the most experienced with military culture and whatnot)

Can we have more Bickslow headcannons? And maybe Evergreen, Freed, and Lexus too?
Fuck yeah you can! I’m gonna start with a lot of angst and then move into their dynamics as a team. (this got REALLY long but I’m not sorry)
-I gave you all my HC for Freed’s backstory in my last post and mentioned that Freed is the reason that Bickslow and Evergreen joined the guild, so have both their backstories too!
-Bickslow grew up in a travelling circus with several other child performers. It wasn’t exactly a nice environment. There were lots of issues and safety hazards and abuse going on behind the scenes, but they were forced to keep smiling and performing through it all.
-Bickslow was especially targeted by the ringmaster because of his magic allowing him to look into people’s souls. The ringmaster is the one who forced him to wear a helmet when he wasn’t using his ability on the crowd for money.
-Because of that, he only had five friends back then, all children younger than he was, who looked up to him both for his tricks and the fact that no matter how upset he was, he had a smile for them.
-one day the tent caught fire during a practice. Bickslow was the only one to make it out alive.
-but considering all the traumatic events they went through, most of the children kept there weren’t able to move on, and their spirits lingered in the area... Except for the five kids who were most fond of Bickslow. They stayed near him and talked to him all the time, especially once they realized he could see them. You still have a soul as a spirit after all.
-the town he was in began to think he was crazy because he was “talking to the air” all the time, and they would continuously call child services to try and take him to an orphanage. The five spirits however, would warn him before they could, and Bickslow used his years of acrobatics skills to stay away from anyone who tried to move him away from where the circus burned down. It may have been a place of trauma, but there were good memories too, and it’s all he had.
-So the town tried one last gamble. Who better to adopt a child with mysterious magic that Fairy Tail?
-And Makarov, in an attempt to get Laxus to be more social, decided to send him and Freed.
-It went about as well as you’d expect. Laxus tried to fight him while Freed did research on the area and what happened to him.
-Laxus didn’t have as much control over his magic as he thought he did at that age, and Bickslow was kicking his ass before Freed showed up and trapped him so they could talk.
-Freed shared his story with him and offered the same thing Laxus once offered him: a home.
-Bickslow cracked soon after that, and told them everything after Freed started asking questions about the town thinking he’s crazy while they were on the train back to magnolia.
-While many members of Fairy Tail were unnerved by him, those around their age did their best to make him feel at home. Natsu listened to all his stories about the circus and about the five ghosts who followed him, and Bickslow listened to his stories about the dragons.
-Freed used this time to research Seith magic extensively, and he eventually came across the idea of putting the souls into objects. He and Bickslow worked for weeks to figure out how to do it, and the five spirits became his five main “dolls.”
-He of course, asked them if they were okay with being alongside him before putting them inside the tiki dolls, and if he cried when they said there was nowhere else they’d rather be? Well Freed and Laxus weren’t going to tell anyone about it.
-Evergreen was both harder and easier to get back to Fairy Tail.
-Like Freed, She was once a part of the noble class, but under a name she never wants to use again.
-When she gained her eye magic, she accidentally turned her mother to stone, and it was all downhill from there. Her father tried to keep her locked in a room, and it worked for a long time.
-Eventually though, she had decided she’d had enough, and snuck out and ran as far away as she could. She kept a ribbon tied around her eyes any time she had to go into town, and learned how to walk while completely blind. This did some damage to her eyesight after several years of doing it.
-it felt like it was too good to be true. She was free and she did odd little jobs in a town far from her original home to earn money for food. it was all she needed..... Until a child tore the ribbon from her face.
-the second she made eye contact, the little boy turned to stone. There was nothing she could do about it except cover her face up again and run.
-her father, however, had notified several guilds about her disappearance and claimed she was dangerous if left alone, so when stories spread about a homeless child turning a boy to stone, it became their first lead in months.
-there was a lull in fighting missions at the time, and something about her magic intrigued Freed. It was an eye magic like his and Bickslow’s first magics, and they aren’t exactly common. Freed, Laxus, and Bickslow took it upon themselves to take the mission to bring her home.
-She very quickly figured out how to hide herself in the woods and away from people. Freed had to trap the entire area and make it so that eye magics don’t work within his barriers before they could even get close to her. It took almost a month.
-And much to their surprise, she was nothing like what they were expecting. After all, they were supposed to be hunting down a nobleman’s son, not a daughter.
-Bickslow almost immediately asks her about why she ran away, and Ever looks up at him- then panics as she slams her eyes shut- but he doesn’t turn to stone because of Freed’s runes, and he explains as such.
-They have a long conversation about why she ran away, and she tells them everything her father did to her, from being locked in her room to being terrified to tell him she’s his daughter and not his son because of his anger issues.
-They realize then and there they can’t give her back to him, and Freed comes up with the plan to tell him that they didn’t find his son, but rather a random girl with a similar magic, and she can join Fairy Tail instead of staying on the run.
-The only reason she doesn’t agree immediatly is because of her eye magic. She couldn’t control it, and the idea of turning someone to stone again scared her.
-Freed sent Laxus to buy a pair of glasses without a prescription and a nice dress for her to wear, and he etches runes into the glasses to block her eye magic when they’re on.
-She’s sold from that moment on, and the raijinshuu’s friendship is sealed with that secret.
-Laxus helps her chose her name before they get onto the train, and they solidify the story before then too
-Makarov Accepts the story without question, even though they have a sneaking suspicion he knows.
-They become a tight knit group in no time.
-Then they learn about Ivan and all he did to Laxus, and they start to jokingly refer to themselves as the Laxus protection squad. It’s a lot less of a joke when Ivan’s actually around though, and the guild definitely notices. Makarov even starts to officially call them that in some reports.
-No one remembers who suggested the name “raijinshuu,” but they all privately agree it’s dumb. Especially since  it insinuates that Laxus is the team leader. Freed’s the captain of their team for a reason.
-Dispite the fact that Bickslow is the tallest of them, both Laxus and Freed are both physically stronger than him. That’s not to say he isn’t strong, but Laxus can carry freakish amounts of weight due to his slayer biology, and Freed does the same due to his demon biology.
-Freed can carry all of them at once. No one knows how.
-Freed puts new runes on Ever’s glasses every time she gets new frames or a new prescription. He knows she doesn’t need it anymore, but she’s always grateful for the option.
-if they share a bed, Freed and Ever cannot sleep next to each other. Their hair tangles together and they’ve only had to make that mistake once.
-Ever and Bickslow are not under any circumstances allowed to cook, Freed can make fancy meals, and Laxus makes homemade stuff that would make your mouth water. He also stress bakes in secret at four am.
-That’s how they always know he’s stressed when he doesn’t tell them. It’s kind of hard to miss 6 batches of cookies that spontaneously appeared overnight
-Freed has an unsharpened rapier that feels like getting hit with a slap bracelet at full speed. Naturally, this is the sword he chases Bickslow with when he pisses him off.
-Laxus likes to pretend he’s one of the smartest members of the guild, but the raijinshuu knows he’s actually kind of a himbo.
-Bickslow is really close friends with Loke, and when he noticed the man was dying slowly, the others comforted him despite not knowing what was going on.
-Bickslow often helps ghosts pass on from the mortal plane.
-Evergreen keeps up with all the latest fashion, but she still considers Freed to be more fashionable. Because of this she always double checks her outfits with him.
-Evergreen’s always the first to sass someone when they’re being rude to her team. It’s earned her her reputation as a “bitch” but she’s far too proud of it to be offended.
-One Laxus was open about his dragon slayer magic, they pushed him to talk to the other slayers to learn about himself and his magic. Freed and Bickslow pushed the hardest though, since they’re friends with Natsu and knew that he would be all too willing to drag Laxus into his little family of dragon slayers.
-Laxus was much happier oncce he accepted that he was more dragon that human anyways, and the more he learned, the happier he was.
-In case it wasn’t clear: mtf Trans!Ever (she/her exclusively), he/they Freed, and  wtf is gender, is it a food?” Laxus and Bickslow (any pronouns).

Midoriya Izuku - Future kids I
Midoriya Izuku's day just got turned upside down. MIdoriya is slightly ooc, and I'm dissapointed with the quality of this work. I lost inspiration sorry, but here you go anyways.
Midoriya Izuku x f!reader
Warnings: none, maybe slight cussing
It had been a normal day, so far. Class 1-b and 1-a had a joint training session, and everyone was giving it their all. Iida was using his recipico burst against their team's opponents, giving Midoriya time to think up a new plan now that they had been discovered. They had previously planned to use Aoyama's navel laser to lure their opponents to a specific spot, before using Iida to get him away so Midoriya and Todoroki could apprehend them. The plan had unfortunately backfired, since they had captured Aoyama before Iida could get to him. The solid air user from 1-b had gotten him in his hold, and only after Todoroki had gotten him back did they realise how much the rest of the plan would fail. So now Midoriya was tasked with coming up with a new plan.
Todoroki was occupied with holding the others at bay, and Iida was running out of fuel so they wouldn’t be much help. Aoyama was on the brink of his usual stomach ache that followed with overuse, so he was also pretty useless. Even if he wanted too Midoriya knew he was out matched, a 4 v 1 would not end well for him, besides he had to look out for Monoma and his copy quirk. He was so in his head planning that he didn’t see the Copycat sneaking up on him, not before it was too late. He should have felt an impact, Monoma had pointed one of Bakugou’s explosions towards him. But the impact never came, instead he felt himself float in the air hovering over the remaining smoke from the explosion. “Don’t you dare hurt my daddy” A loud girly voice proclaimed, effectively gaining everybody nearby attention.
Turning his attention towards the girly voice, he felt himself freeze up. In the middle of their training field stood a girl around the age of 10, if he had to take a guess. But that wasn’t what caused him to freeze up, no not the fact that this young girl had somehow managed to bypass UA’s security. Which should have been impossible, considering all the improvements that had been made to it after all the villain attacks that had happened. No, what caused him to freeze up was the fact that before him stood this girl, who looked like a carbon copy of him. It seemed that way from this distance. “Who is responsible for holding Midoriya in the air?” Aizawa’s gruff voice rang out. “Oh right, I forgot about that,” The curly green haired girl exclaimed, catching the attention of the slowly increasing crowd. Slowly Midoriya could feel himself being lowered to the ground again, once his feet hit the cement the quirk that had previously held him in the air deactivated making him feel 10 times heavier.
“Who the fuck disturbed the exercise, I’m gonna kill who ever did it” a familiar angry voice yelled out, making Bakugou’s presence noticeable. Everybody was a little on edge, they had enough experience with villains to not foolishly blindly trust anybody. It didn’t matter that it was a 10 year-old girl, or that she looked like a carbon copy of the resident green haired cinnamon roll. “Man, Uncle Katsu you really were loud back in the day” This statement from the green haired girl left everyone speechless. ‘Does she have a death wish’ was the thought on most of 1-A’s minds, nobody was so casual with Bakugou because it was a serious health hazard.
Well everyone except maybe his two best friends, Kirishima and y/n. It was common knowledge in class A that Bakugou had a soft spot for his two best friends, they had honestly been shocked the first time they met her. She had walked into the classroom, blank faced, walked over to Bakugou’s table, smacked him upside the head with a book before leaving it on his desk, and walked out the door with only a quick “don’t forget it next time, Idiot”. Miraculously she had lived, and Bakugou hadn’t even begun yelling. An impressive feat in itself. Not long after Midoriya had begun noticing you around school, and found out you were a part of the support course. He came to know you a bit, his observation skills made that almost too easy. Slowly but surely he began falling in love with you, the way your hair frames your face, your sharp tongue that never held back. How you would stand up for anybody, it didn’t matter if you knew them well or not if they were in trouble you would help them.
“Hah, what was that you brat?” Bakugou’s loud yelling and heavy footsteps approaching snapped him out of his thoughts, and back to the situation at hand. “ W-wait a minute Kacchan, I’m s-sure that there is a logical explanation” He found himself saying before he could even register what happened. Midoriya was hit with an immense feeling of protectiveness, similar to when they had rescued Eri, but stronger. Without knowing he had subconsciously stepped in front of the girl, pushing her behind his back. “Don’t worry dad I can handle myself, besides it’s only uncle Katsu” she spoke up behind the protective cinnamon roll. “Explain now” Aizawa cut in before they could get side tracked again. It was like the fact she hadn’t introduced herself, only hit her now.
“ Right, allow me to introduce myself” Bowing slightly she continued. “ My name is Midoriya Izumi, I am 10 years old and from the future” Aizawa sent her a raised eyebrow, wanting an elaborated answer. “ My friend was being teased by the others in class about how he was quirkless” Izuku tensed slightly but continued listening to Izumi “ Since my friend’s parents each has a quirk related to time, his mom could speed up herself for only a couple of minutes and his dad could slow down others a bit. This made it really hard for my friend to know if he had a quirk or not, so I helped him research and test different theories. Our last one must have worked, which is time travel by the way, but I have no idea how long his quirk will last” Izumi rambled slightly, reminding them of another curly green haired individual. Difference is Izumi talked loud enough for them to hear, and a bit slower making it understandable.
“Wait, you said your name was Midoriya Izumi. Does this mean that you are Midoriya’s daughter” The ever stoic, conspiracy theory thinking, dual haired boy pointed out. “ Yep, sure am uncle Sho, Don’t tell me you don’t see the resemblance.” She stood next to Izuku hugging his waist with one arm, before continuing” I’m dad's younger copy but female, mom always says there is more wholesomeness in him than there is in her. I remember her asking dad one time why his genes were so damn strong. Luckily for her Haru looks a lot more like her, he’s her younger copy but male” The people present looked between the two Midoriyas, it was true nobody could deny that she was her fathers daughter. The only thing that was different was her eyes, they had specks of y/e/c instead of being fully emerald like Izuku’s were. Also she talks a lot, just like their classmate. They shared the same green hair, both were curly in texture and the classic Midoriya freckles. Though it seemed that she had gotten more of her mothers personality, at least they assumed so. I mean she stood up to Bakugou, without even flinching at his tone.
“Oi, squirt what’s your quirk. And quit rambling like shitty Deku” Bakugou asked, interest evident in his tone. “ Right, my quirk is called Telekinesis, so I can move stuff with my mind. It was also how I was able to keep daddy in the air” Izumi responded, puffing her chest out comically in pride. “Huh so it skipped a generation, and your quirk is stronger than my mom’s. But you also have a different approach so maybe that helps. I wonder why yours is stronger, is it because of your mothers quirk. But then again my quirk is also powerful maybe an aspect of it ties to the genes maybe that’s why your quirk is stronger than moms” The older green haired individual began mumbling on, and he probably would have continued if he hadn’t been cut off by his lowly daughter hitting him in the head. “ Daddy stop mumbling,” Izumi stated sternly.
Bakugou grinned, he liked this kid's spunk and she seemed to have a strong quirk, even if she was shitty Deku’s kid. “Oi squirt fight me” He loudly proclaimed, earning all his classmates attention. Almost everyone began yelling over each other, what the hell dude and she just a kid another one was so not manly bro. Instead of being happy her dad’s old classmates were defending her, stopping her uncle from fighting her she got annoyed. So what if she was a child, this wouldn’t be her first time fighting her dad or her uncles. Before everyone could attack Bakugou even more a voice piqued up “ Sure, if that is alright with you sensei” she directed her attention towards Mr. Aizawa.
It wasn’t rational to challenge a child to a fight, but he couldn’t deny she had a great fighting spirit in her eyes. So he allowed it, he was curious himself to see how it would end. The control she displayed earlier was phenomenal, and she was only 10 but she had a lot of potential in his book. He shooed everuýone a bit away from the hothead and the young Midoriya, and so then created a ring of sorts acting a the line of confinement.
3…..2…...1…...GO!
Bakugou charged straight in with his usual right hook, only to have it swiftly caught by Izumi. She grabbed his right hand, squatted down a bit, then swiftly pushed her shoulder into his rib. The momentum of that allowed her to, even with some difficulty, flip his much larger body over her shoulder and into the ground. There was a small second of silence where Bakugou just laid on the ground in shock, a girl over 5 years younger than him just flipped him over her shoulder like it wasn’t even that hard. However Izumi didn’t give him time to think as she sent metal bars towards him. They had been fried earlier, before her arrival. Bakugou used his explosions to evade the metal projectiles, sending another one straight towards her face. Die squirt die, his colorful vocabulary re-entered the scene. She used her Telekinesis to command the explosion to change course and hit Bakugou square in the face instead. Slightly dazed Bakugou didn’t have time to move before a heel connected to his temple, effectively knocking him out.
Everyone who bore witness to this fight was shell shocked, Bakugou lost. The fight lasted only around 8 minutes before the winner of the 1 years sports festival got knocked out by a 10 year old girl. “Huh, that was easier than expected,” the panting girl exclaimed. Izuku could feel his chest swell with pride, that was his daughter. Strong and smart just like her parents. She walked over to Izuku and slumped against him “ I’m tired daddy, carry me” She looked up at him with those doe green eyes, and how could he say no to his little warrior princess. Blushing, he picked her up, and she let out a sigh of contentment. Using her quirk to command things on a molecular level, like Bakugou’s explosions always took a toll on her.
“Midoriya take Izumi to the dorms to let her rest, the rest of you come with me for our next exercise” Mr. Aizawa commanded the frozen teens and teacher. Izuku then began making his way to the dorms, asking his sleepy daughter a tornado of questions. Do you know about my quirk, how does your quirk work, how old is Haru, am I a good dad, who is your mom? Even in her sleepy state Izumi answered his questions to the best of her abilities, though she refused to reveal who her mother was.
When they arrived at the dorms he put her on the living room couch, and went to leave to grab her some old All Might merch that could fit her. Before he could leave she grabbed his cheeks rather harshly, looking him straight in the eye she said “Don’t worry about who mom is, she loves you for you so it's gonna be fine. Also don’t screw this up so I’ll still be born.” Izuku sweat dropped nervously, before getting out of her hold to go find that old merch of his.
When he returned to the living room after finding what he was looking for, he looked around only to find that it was empty. He walked over to the couch and coffee table where he found a note, picking it up and sitting down on the couch to read it. Dearest daddy, I felt tingly so I think the quirk is gonna wear off now. I just wanted to say that you are awesome and the best daddy out there, I love you so much. I’ll see you again in the future - hugs Izumi Midoriya. Izuku’s heart fell, she had only just arrived an hour or so ago and now she was gone. He didn’t get to know his daughter better like he had hoped, and he didn’t get to see her adorably dressed up in his old All Might merch. He read the note over and over again, trying to satisfy his heart. He would see her again in the future, and then it clicked. his heart swelled, yeah he would see Izumu again some day.
Yeah he would see her again when he was married and happy. Yeah he could wait for that, as long as he has too.

[~*~]
Iida drank a second cup of his special orange juice - used only on commemorative days and events - thoughtfully. His birthday party would be late in the evening and, since his family wanted to make it a surprise, he would spend the whole day hanging out with his brother, Aizawa-san and Hizashi-san until all the preparations would be complete. He, of course, offered himself to help with all the decorations, but his parents were firm on their decision and Tenya would be lying if he said he wasn’t excited to have some quality time with his brother and the other two heroes. Their work usually demanded a lot of their time.
Still locked on his thoughts, as the doorbell rang, the teenager opened the door without a second thought in a polite stance, being rudely pulled out of his own mind as he stared at Aizawa and Hizashi, both with dangerous smirks that suddenly filled Iida with clear memories of a tradition Tensei started on the boy’s birthday and his ‘uncles’ (Tenya one day protested at the nickname, pointing it didn’t make sense call them like that because they aren’t blood related. However, his parents explained that this was just a way to express fondness and closeness for someone you care about. The younger one began to call them uncles with more frequency, except on social gatherings) caught on it as well.
“Hello! ~” Hizashi chipped, making goosebumps run down his spine as Iida closed the door on their face, internally wincing at the clear disrespectful act, however valuing much more his safety than being a polite host.
(But, actually, he wasn’t truly anxious about it. They were always nice and kind with him, making him smile and enjoy himself, even when he wasn’t the perfect model he struggled to be.)
Tensei’s head peaked from the second living room’s hall as he dashed at full speed across it, accompanying his baby bro with ease and drops of confusion. “Who was it at the door?”
“Uncles!” Tenya frowned in concentration as he turned the corner, lowering his speed enough to not go face first on the wall, cheeks slightly red and sputtering starting to become present on his tune. “They are going to do that hideous tr-tradition you started when I was a kid!” And Iida Tenya, future hero from a whole noble ancestry of skilled heroes, definitely did NOT pout at his brother’s carefree laughter.
“Oh, yeah! I forgot about that! It’s so polite of them to help me to remember, don’t you think?”
“No!! It’s not polite! High level heroes like you shouldn’t be committing such embarrassing, hideous act in the first place, even less repeating it yearly!!”
“Aww, you’re repeating your words. You’re excited, aren’t you?” Tensei smiled, knowing his brother enough to notice that gleam in his eyes and the lack of a real protest in his words. He ignored the squeaked ‘NO!’ thrown at him and smiled even wider, doing a fast maneuver that put his body between his brother and the door, hugging him on his chest with a ‘oof’ when they inevitably collided. “You know what? Since they’re being so nice with us, I think we should repay their kindness, right?” Tensei grinned when he heard the footsteps coming closer, shouting “HEY, GUYS! BIRTHDAY BOY IS HERE!”
“Tensei!!” But he was already smiling, squirming excitedly on his brother’s hold, especially when a loud, happy ‘YEAHHH!’ boomed through the house. “No, no!! This is betrayal! Deception! Dishonesty! Trickery! Treason!!!”
“Now you’re just reciting the dictionary.” Ingenium laughed, no hint of regret on his voice, distractedly nodding at his friends when they appeared at the door. “Look,” he whispered, conspiratorially, “I will need you to distract them until Shouta lowers his guard so I can sneak upon him. Hizashi would never pass up an opportunity to tickle him too, so you will be safe to run and get something useful for us to bribe them with, ok?” The younger gasped, quickly nodding. “Right. So, are you ready for your part of the plan, sidekick?”
“YES!” Iida chomped the air, voice louder than he originally intended, but his squeal even louder as the other Iida squeezed his side before any hint of what they were talking about could be noticed by the two guests, who now were now much closer, I might say.
“Now, now. It seems like a little listener here is excited for his so desired birthday tickles!!” Hizashi wiggled his fingers in his direction, meaneancily. “Oh! They grow up so fast! It feels like it was yesterday we would be playing heroes, and I, the most incredible villain LoudChaos would be defeated by Ingenium Junior and his vicious attacks of kicking his pillows at me!!” The blond pinched his cheek playfully, watching as the groan of his nephew dissolved in a determined look a few seconds later, energetic gestures following him.
“You will never be able to crack me, villains. Not even with embarrassing memories from my childhood!”
“I don’t know, I think those times when we had to buy at least three copies of your favorite plushie because otherwise you wouldn’t let us wash the original was pretty- ack! Hey, hey!” Tensei snickered as he tried to dodge from Tenya’s warning kicks, “I was kidding! I was kidding!”
“Want me to hold him?” Aizawa asked nonchalantly, a small quirk of his mouth showing his amusement about the whole situation. At Tensei's affirmative nod he held the younger’s arms above his head, briefly messing with his neat combed hair before smirking. “Congrats for being twelve years next to death, brat.”
 Tenya deadpanned at him.
“Ooh, right, twelve!!” Hizashi’s fingers were teasingly getting closer, slowly and then even slowlier, almost touching a spot before pretending to launch at others, resulting in kicks and muffled shrieks from the younger one. “You know what that means, right, Shou?”
“Yes. We will have to tickle him for twelve entire years.”
 “Aw, such a pity.”
 “No! Lies! That is incorrect!”
“Is that so, not-so-little listener? What should we do then?”
“According to your rather silly and foolery tradition you should tickle me for twelve entire minutes. One minute for each year.”
Aizawa and Yamada shared a look, Tensei holding his chuckles and tears in the background. His brother was just way too much precious.
“We should what?” Shouta questioned with a voice completely devoid of emotion, maybe that is why Tenya felt the answer slip away from his lips easily even before he could register the potential trap.
 “Tickle me!”
“Well,” Hizashi attacked, skilled fingers tickling and tickling and tickling every spot they could research. “If you insist.”
There were fingers dancing on his ribs and poking his stomach as a maddening prodding began to be delivered on his sides and even a squeeze found its way to his knee. A much more lazy, almost unbearably light touch drew shapes on his neck, scribbling lightly and softly to his ears and then all the way back to his collarbone, going from one side to another, over and over again.
“Coothie coothie coo, little listener!!” His loud laughter, intertwined with squeaks, yelps and guffaws due the mix between all the soft and energetic tickles, almost made the teasing disappear. Key word: Almost. “Have a tickle, tickle here!” He shook his head, trying to dislodge the fingers on his neck. “And tickle, tickle, tickle there!” Spidering on his shoulder blades made him squirm more. “Have all the tickles, tickly tickles everywhere!!”
“YOHOHOHOU WILL NOT DEFEHEHEAT ME!” Tenya’s smile was almost taking over his entire face, chuckles and giggles spilling freely from him. Yet, - he decided, - he has an important part of the plan and would not lose easily! That was the only reason why he continued firm on his position, figuratively laughing his head out, and definitely not because of how their attention and silliness made him feel happy, safe and loved.
“Of course not.” Shouta paused for a few pieces of seconds, checking his phone. “You still have five minutes left. I am sure you will agree to a defeat, eventually.”
“Nehehever!” Iida did his best to shout, quick, airy snickers floating in the air when Yamada decided to give him a break, leaving only Shouta’s torment to keep the other smiling.
“Hey, hey, hey, little listener!” Tenya knew this tune. He knew that when Uncle Hizashi used that he was planning something. His smile became wobblier and he refused to open his eyes. “Come on, don’t let me hang on here! Look at me, pleaaase?”
The boy just shook his head, eyes still firmly closed.
“Shoouuu, he doesn’t want to see the big, great, amazing surprise I have for him! That is not fair.”
“He is smart. It’s not his fault for your lack of charisma.”
“Gaaasp! You wound me! Friendship ended with Ereaserhead, now my new best friend is Tensei!”
 A pause.
“Buuuut, the vacancy is still open if maybe, just maaaybe,” A wiggly finger tickled under his chin, a snort flew in the air, “a clever teenager with a cute laughter and blue hair decides to open his eyes…”
 “Yohohou will not crahack me!”
“Please,” Poke, “Please, please, pleasepleaseplease!” Poke, poke, pokepokepoke-
“Stop!” And then he finally opened his eyes, finding a very smiley Hizashi in front of him, making a silly face. He half groaned and half giggled, the former action only due Aizawa’s tickles, of course.
“Aw, you didn’t find it funny?” The blonde crossed his arms, pretending to think about his next move. “Donut worry, then! I know something that will make you laugh!!”
And then, in a blink of an eye, he blew a gigantic raspberry on his tummy.
In the exact moment Tenya’s loud, uncontrollable, squeaky belly laughter exploded, Aizawa let go of his arms, a surprised, sharp snorts coming out as Tensei hugged him from behind, his hands being quick to attack his unprotect armpits, low muffled squeals and rumbling chuckles beginning to float in the air.
Tenya fell on his knees, hugging his stomach and tittering non stop as Yamada tenderly ruffled his hair, giving the boy’s cheeks another gentle pinch before getting his attention captured by his best friend’s tickled laughter, his wicked grin making another appearance.
“Is it already Tickle Shouta hours??” He cracked and wiggled his fingers, making a whole show of getting prepared, crackling in delight as the black haired adult laughed harder at the silliness, laying completely limp on Ingenium’s embrace, face starting to be colored by a light red, legs kicking and a hand hiding his mouth, even if the corner of his smile was still clearly visible.
And, as Iida laid on the cold floor, rarefied giggles escaping from time to time, as new laughter and teases filled the room, he thought that he actually didn’t mind that much that such foolery, silly tradition had wormed its way in their family.

FADE IN:
INT. COURTROOM
GERARD BUTLER is at a COURT HEARING... in the FUTURE!
GERARD BUTLER
It is the future. Natural disasters have become alarmingly commonplace. Hurricanes, mudslides, floods, you name it. The level of destruction is catastrophic.
RICHARD SCHIFF
To be clear, this is the FUTURE you’re talking about?
GERARD BUTLER
The nations of the world have finally decided to take action. So, pooling our resources, we’ve invested heavily in environmental research and clean energy, and cracked down heavily on industrial emissions standards-
(laughs and laughs and laughs)
Just kidding! We’ve built a giant orbital platform that shoots the bad weather with space missiles and space lasers, of course.
RICHARD SCHIFF
So you’re the genius who built the space station. But instead of just making you the chief engineer, which would make sense, we made you director of the whole multi-national program, despite the fact that you have no administrative skills or political experience and mostly get what you want by yelling at people and punching them in the face?
GERARD BUTLER
That’s correct, you useless government fucks. You can all lick my sweaty gonads.
(moons everybody)
RICHARD SCHIFF
You’re fired and we’re giving your job to your little brother Jim Sturgess. At least he can do a passable American accent.
GERARD BUTLER
Och, ye dinnae hae ta be a deck abote et!
INT. SPACE STATION
Engineer RICHARD REGAN PAUL is aboard the WEATHER STATION when he notices that somebody has stuck a SMARTPHONE on an important CIRCUITBOARD.
RICHARD REGAN PAUL
Oh crap, somebody’s sabotaging this hundred-trillion-dollar space program using consumer electronics! I better draw everybody’s attention to this and alert my superiors!
(falls down and hits head very hard)
Duhhhh I mean I should hide this evidence and tell nobody yessss.
He stashes the EVIDENCE, but shortly afterwards the CORRIDOR he’s walking through is SEALED and all the WALL PANELS START BLASTING OFF!
RICHARD REGAN PAUL
What the fuck? Why would we design them to be able to do that? What possible situation could arise in a space station when we’d need to get rid of the WALLS in a hurry? This makes no-
(spaced)
The SPACE STATION then proceeds to turn a bunch of VILLAGERS in AFGHANISTAN into SNOWMEN.
INT. WHITE HOUSE
JIM STURGESS is having a meeting with the movie’s entire supply of Oscar-nominated actors.
JIM STURGESS
So yeah, we kind of murdered a bunch of innocent people with a giant ice ray like Mr. Freeze, oops. We need to send up an international team of brilliant engineers to the space station to investigate what went wrong, despite the fact that there’s already an international team of brilliant engineers ON the space station.
ACADEMY AWARD NOMINEE ANDY GARCIA
No way, Jim. As the president, I can’t have foreigners touch this station which has been funded and staffed predominately by foreigners! We’ll send up Americans.
ACADEMY AWARD NOMINEE ED HARRIS
ONE American. I mean if we’re going to half-ass this thing, let’s half-ass it, y’know?
ACADEMY AWARD NOMINEE MARE WINNINGHAM
I am also in this scene for some reason.
JIM STURGESS
Ugh fine, let’s send up Gerard. It’ll take some doing though, he and I haven’t really gotten along in the vague amount of time since you gave me his job. Seriously, the timeline is super nebulous, it could have been anything between a week and five years.
ED HARRIS
I have faith you can convince him, Jim. As your father figure and mentor, you know I support you in everything, and if you ever need somebody you can implicitly trust-
JIM STURGESS
We get it, you’re the villain, whoop-de-doo.
(leaves)
EXT. LOSER SHACK
JIM goes out to see GERARD, who is hanging with his DAUGHTER.
JIM STURGESS
Hey bro, the space laser’s been acting up. Think you could pop up to space real quick and fix it? Thanks.
GERARD’S DAUGHTER
Dad, no! You can’t go back to space! It’s too dangerous! Don’t abandon me like this!
GERARD BUTLER
OH GOD NOT THIS FUCKING TROPE. Yeah, parents should never do work that takes them away from their families for any amount of time or puts themselves at risk, no matter how important it is. I’m a shitty father because I’m agreeing to go save hundreds of millions of lives, possibly including yours. Shut the fuck up, you little turd.
GERARD immediately storms off and goes to SPACE.
EXT. HONG KONG
Suddenly the movie remembers the CHINESE BOX OFFICE and cuts to HONG KONG, where DANIEL WU is heading home with some SHOPPING.
DANIEL WU
(looks around)
Aw fuck. A famous capital city in a disaster movie? This isn’t gonna end well.
Sure enough he drops some EGGS on the ground and they immediately begin to FRY!
DANIEL WU
Holy shit the ground is apparently as hot as a stovetop! You’d think this is something the people in the street would have noticed, but uh, I guess all our shoes are made entirely of thermally nonconductive silica fibreglass?
(jumps in car, speeds off)
And our tires too, don’t forget our tires!
DANIEL drives through the streets as the pavement CRACKS and FIRE erupts out of the SUPERHEATED PAVEMENT!
DANIEL WU
Damn, the space station must have done that! Not that we ever explain how geothermal energy could possibly be controlled by space lasers!
INT. SPACE STATION
GERARD arrives aboard the SPACE STATION to meet the team of ENGINEERS.
ROBERT SHEEHAN
Welcome, Gerard! I am an asshole. A smug, unlikeable asshole. The exact kind of jerk you’d think would turn out to be the saboteur. Which is kind of awkward, because I DO turn out to be the saboteur.
AMR WAKED
It’s okay, I’ll cover for you by red herringing as hard as humanly possible in every scene I’m in.
(lurks sinisterly)
ALEXANDRA MARIA LARA
Meanwhile I’m the station’s commander. I exist to be your sort-of love interest with whom you never get beyond meaningful eye contact, and to make you seem hypercompetent by standing around uselessly while you do everything important.
GERARD BUTLER
Okay then, now that everybody’s in position let’s get this 2012-but-with-weather/Gravity-except-stupid-and-with-more-explosions hybrid on the road! Bring on the barrage of gratuitous global annihilation!
ALEXANDRA MARIA LARA
Actually there’s nowhere near as much of that kind of thing as the trailers promised. But if you like scenes where someone stares at tiny gobbledegook on a computer screen and explains what plot points it discloses, we’ve got a buttload of that!
GERARD BUTLER
(puppy dog eyes)
ALEXANDRA MARIA LARA
Oh fine, here’s one to tide you over.
EXT. TOKYO
Giant hail in Tokyo!
INT. SPACE STATION
GERARD BUTLER
Ta! Now let’s look at that satellite that fried Hong Kong.
ROBERT SHEEHAN
Uh, oops, unfortunately that malfunctioning satellite got smashed beyond usefulness because the hydraulic arm which was holding it malfunctioned!
GERARD BUTLER
Fine then, let’s look at the surveillance footage from when Richard Regan Paul got spaced.
ROBERT SHEEHAN
Um well we can’t see the footage of that wall malfunction because the footage has also malfunctioned.
GERARD BUTLER
Wait though, there’s still a useable recording in a leftover bit of wall that got stuck in a solar array panel! Let’s go for a spacewalk and get it.
ROBERT SHEEHAN
Sure thing WHUH OH while you’re trying to retrieve that malfunctioning bit of wall, your space suit has malfunctioned!
GERARD BUTLER
(bouncing off every part of the space station)
HEY YOU KNOW WHAT, I’M STARTING TO THINK THAT MAAAAYBE THERE’S JUST A SMIDGE OF SABOTAGE GOING ON.
ROBERT SHEEHAN
Damnit! Turns out that by the time you’re committing sabotage to cover up your sabotage to cover up your sabotage to cover up your sabotage, it starts to get kinda obvious what you’re doing.
(pause)
Nnnnnot that I have anything to do with that. Right, Amr?
AMR WAKED
(hovers creepily at the edge of frame)
ROBERT SHEEHAN
Exactly.
GERARD retrieves the DATA from the WALL FRAGMENT, but finds that he can’t ACCESS IT.
GERARD BUTLER
Oh crap, only a high-level government official could have restricted the data like this! That means that SOMEBODY extremely high-ranking is behind all this, but we don’t know who!
ALEXANDRA MARIA LARA
It’s Ed Harris. Everybody has figured this out already.
GERARD BUTLER
I have to tell Jim about this. But they might have bugged our comms, and my message may be intercepted by whoever the traitor is.
ALEXANDRA MARIA LARA
It is quite obviously Ed Harris.
GERARD BUTLER
I better use a code.
(calls Jim)
Hey there, Jim! Just thought I’d stop in the middle of this deadly crisis to randomly reminisce. SOMEtimes I think about that old WHITE porch we used to have at our HOUSE, where our pathetic inbred ASSHOLE of a father used to get FUCKED up on tequila and whale on US with a wrench. Glad that’s all OVER.
JIM STURGESS
A high-ranking government traitor? Why that could only be-
ALEXANDRA MARIA LARA
ED HARRIS, IT’S ED HARRIS YOU IDIOTS, THERE'S NO OTHER REASON FOR HIS CHARACTER TO EXIST
JIM STURGESS
-the president! America is soon scheduled to hand control of the space station over to an international committee. The president must be causing these disasters in order to retain control!
GERARD BUTLER
Right. Because after a fuckup of this magnitude, obviously the last thing people will want to do is remove the administrators responsible for killing everybody.
JIM STURGESS
And he’s not gonna stop with these penny-ante special effect showcases, either! He’s trying to chain a bunch of them together and bring on a geostorm!
GERARD BUTLER
You mean the tiny, ugly-ass sports compact from Isuzu?
JIM STURGESS
Not a Geo Storm, a GEOSTORM! A made-up, probably impossible meteorological phenomenon where it storms everywhere on the planet at once! According to our computers, this precise sequence of weather disasters - including the ones which the space station hasn’t caused yet - will lead to a geostorm in EXACTLY the nice, round timeframe of ninety minutes!!
GERARD BUTLER
Fuck! Fine then, let’s do an emergency shutdown of the station so it can’t frag the planet. This potentially apocalyptic orbital weapons platform DOES have an emergency off switch, right?
JIM STURGESS
Well, yes... but, ha ha, it turns out it can only be activated using the president’s biometrics. So if the most dangerous thing ever made malfunctions, it can only be stopped if you can get the president into the right specific room quickly enough.
(shrugs awkwardly)
Fortunately, I have been provided with a convenient secret service girlfriend who can grab the president for us!
ABBIE CORNISH
Okay then, I’ll-
JIM STURGESS
Plot devices don’t speak, honey.
ABBIE CORNISH
Then why does this movie have any dialogue at all?
INT. DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION
JIM and ABBIE go to find PRESIDENT ANDY at the DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION in ORLANDO. But first they run into ED HARRIS.
JIM STURGESS
Ed, thank god I ran into somebody I can trust! We need to grab the president so we can shut down this Bond villain-esque weather scheme.
ED HARRIS
Uh, okay. I have the president right here in this gun. Stand still so that I might fire him at you.
JIM STURGESS
Wha - YOU?! EVIL?!? DWAAAHHH?!?!?
ED HARRIS
Don’t patronize me. Anyway, part of my plan is to set off a giant lightning storm here and kill everybody in line of succession ahead of me, so I become president!
JIM STURGESS
Are you fucking kidding me? We’ve gone to the trouble of pointing out it’s an election year! Do you honestly expect an administration that ran an environmental program so badly that it KILLED THEM ALL to get reelected?
JIM and ABBIE grab ANDY and run for it! Then a fuckton of LIGHTNING starts DESTROYING THE DNC!
BYSTANDER
Man, those Russian hackers have really stepped up their game.
(incinerated)
ABBIE CORNISH
Quickly, we can get away using this SELF-DRIVING cab we just commandeered! Since I’m driving it there might seem to be no reason for us to point out that it’s a SELF-DRIVING cab, so I guess now the audience has already figured out we’re shortly going to be pulling some trick where it SELF-DRIVES. We’ll still act like we’re being clever, though.
ED HARRIS
Chase that cab, my suicidally dedicated minions! Meanwhile I will teleport to the road ahead of them, so I can set up a rocket launcher ambush! Nothing screams “accidental death” like getting blown up by a fucking rocket launcher. FIRE!
MINION
Uh, you sure you don’t want to wait until we can see who’s driving? Disregarding any possible self-driving tricks, cabs are pretty interchangeable and that could in fact be entirely the wrong car-
ED HARRIS
I SAID FIRE!
They BLOW UP THE CAB! But then ANDY appears and shoves a GUN in ED’S FACE.
ANDY GARCIA
That’s right, we sent the empty cab driving towards you at sixty miles an hour! And now here we are, having caught up to it on foot within the next twenty seconds. My legs are KILLING ME.
ED HARRIS
Come on Andy, you should still let the geostorm happen! My theory is that the massive catastrophe which is going to demolish the face of the planet will handily attack only our political enemies and we’ll be fine!
ANDY GARCIA
Goddamn, how is it that each new layer of your motivations is even dumber than the last?
EXT. EVERYWHERE
Meanwhile DIRECTOR DEAN DEVLIN looks under the COUCH and finally finds the movie’s MISSING DISASTER EFFECTS, and they all start happening at once! Ice storms in Rio! Fire storms in Moscow! Tsunamis in the desert!
GERARD BUTLER
Opposite weather, is it? In that case I’m guessing London is currently having a pleasant sunny day HEY-OOOHHH!
ALEXANDRA MARIA LARA
But we’re not doing so great here in space either. Somebody’s set off our self-destruct system, and the station’s gonna explode in [amount of time left in which the geostorm can still be averted + just enough time for a thrilling escape]!
GERARD BUTLER
Wait a minute, according some kind of plot mumbo jumbo, the only one who could have started the self-destruct protocol is... ROBERT! You little traitor, you’re working for Ed!
ROBERT SHEEHAN
Okay okay, you’ve got me, but SURPRISE I had a gun strapped to the underside of this desk and now you haven’t got me at all, HA!
GERARD BUTLER
What was your plan if I’d confronted you in literally any other room?
ROBERT SHEEHAN
Clearly I must have guns strapped underneath every surface in the entire space station.
(opens fire)
Aw yeah, no better strategy for staying alive than shooting bullets in a room which is separated from the vacuum of space by a single pane of-
ROBERT accidentally SPACES HIMSELF! The movie does not reveal whether, in his last moments of consciousness, RICHARD’S FROZEN, ORBITING CORPSE happens to collide FOOT-FIRST with ROBERT’S CROTCH, so one is forced to assume that it DOES.
INT. SPACE STATION STOPPING ROOM
Back on EARTH, ANDY arrives in the ROOM he has to be in so that he can turn off the SPACE STATION.
ANDY GARCIA
All right, we did it! I just used my biometrics to activate the thing, so now the world is saved! Right?
JIM STURGESS
Actually Gerard still has to get to another specific room on the station itself and press a big “YES” button for it to actually work.
ANDY GARCIA
OF COURSE. What was I thinking, we can’t let this emergency shutdown be activated merely by having the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED FUCKING STATES TURN IT ON WITH HIS OWN SPECIAL BODY SCAN. No, we need the extra, mega-secure step of having some engineer click “confirm”!
JIM STURGESS
Look, we wanted to do the president kidnapping scene but still give Gerard a big action climax, this was the only way.
In SPACE, GERARD and ALEXANDRA make it to the SPECIAL ROOM, shut down the SPACE STATION and SAVE THE WORLD!
ALEXANDRA MARIA LARA
Phew, and with one second left to go! That’s right, because we turned off the weather machine when we did all the bad weather instantly cleared up; but if it had gone on for even one more second it would have become a global superstorm which would have wiped out most of humanity. What a sensible premise!
GERARD BUTLER
Unfortunately while we were able to get everybody else off the station, there’s no time left for you and I to escape. But I knew this when I stayed behind. I may not have been a good father, but I hope my daughter can at least appreciate the sacrifice I made by dying in space in order to save-
ALEXANDRA MARIA LARA
Are you seriously copying Bruce Willis’s death from Armageddon?
GERARD BUTLER
Oh FUCK you’re right. Screw it, let’s just jump in a spare satellite and fly to safety then.
ALEXANDRA MARIA LARA
Hooray! I’m not even gonna ask why a weather satellite has room inside it for passengers!
They HOP ABOARD the SPACE EX MACHINA and fly away!
EXT. LOSER SHACK
Months later, GERARD, JIM and GERARD’S ANNOYING DAUGHTER are all hanging out and fishing.
GERARD BUTLER
Neat, our family’s come un-estranged! What a happy ending. Why if we keep the focus on stuff like this, and the fact that in Brazil the dog didn’t die, we can ignore the fact that millions of people just got horribly murdered!
JIM STURGESS
And the rebuilt space station is now in international hands as intended, and they’re gonna make sure none of this can ever-
GERARD BUTLER
Wait, what the fuck? They’re doing the space station again? After the last one turned out to be a city-destroying death ray which could be commandeered by a single nerd with a smartphone? That’s the least plausible ending this movie could have possibly had!
JIM STURGESS
Uh huh. Yeah, I’m sure in real life politicians the world over would instead start seriously committing themselves to environmental policy. Hmmm?
GERARD BUTLER
...Okay yeah this way’s more realistic.

Sorry for the formatting, I’m on mobile.
🖇 Hi, can I please request male matchups for One Punch Man and My Hero Academia? Thank you!
I’m a grey/demisexual, panromantic girl. I’m over 18, I’ m an ENFP though I feel like I’m 50/50 extroverted and introverted. I’m 5’5, full of snark and sass. I like to wear clothes ai can move in, though my usual wear is sneakers, jeans, a tank top and a jacket if it’s cold. I’m assertive and until people get to know me, I can come off as aggressive and angry/grumpy. I’m extremely opinionated and get outspoken about my beliefs. I’m very smart but I will need a while to process new information and see how that new information interacts and intersects with what I already know. I have a strong sense of right and wrong, and not afraid of conflict. Am ready to throw down at the drop of a hat and even though I’m on the smaller side I *will* kick someone’s ass. I have very few friends, but the ones I do have are especially close to me.
My major fear in life is that I won’t live up to my full potential. A word that I like, if it doesn’t have to be in English, is the Japanese word/name ‘mamoru’ which means to defend/to protect.
My favorite color is red, and I like silver and cool colors secondly. I love action and super hero movies, and I hate most romance movies/love triangles in shows. I love sci-fi too. I can be pretty insightful and observant despite what most people think, as I do come off as a loner or oblivious on occasion. I hate corruption, double standards and fake people. The most important quality I value in myself, and others is loyalty.
I’m an Aries sun with an Aquarius moon. I like savory foods and my favorite is steak. My favorite time of day is evening, and my love languages are physical touch and quality time. Fun facts are I’m very good at playing the Imposter in Among us, I’ve played piano, clarinet, and baritone and I’d like to learn a string instrument at some point. If there’s a I’ve been told by two separate people that my aura color is creamsicle/bright orange. My favorite bands are the emo-trinity, and one of my favorite songs is Trouble by Neon Jungle. My favorite anime of all time is Kill la Kill. Hope this enough info ❤️
A/n : Don't worry for formating i'm on mobile too ! AND I'M SORRY TO ANSWER YOUR ASK SO LATE LIKE YOU HAD TO WAIT A MONTH ?!
One punch man >>>
I match you with...
Speed o Sound Sonic
Tumblr media
Less than five min to match you two lol.
Like I think you're pretty much his type in a matter of style or personality.
The first time you met it was chaos, like you two probably argued about something as you are very opiniated. But at least you didn't scared each other by being agressive like it would usually with more sensitive people.
Sonic is pretty impulsive when it comes to takes decision but that doesn't mean he's not smart, I think he's pretty decent in his reflexion when he's not attending to kill Saitame at all it cost... When comes new information he process to treat them faster, what makes him pretty resourceful and so your two methods complete each others and gives you a little bit of intellectual challenge when they're confronted.
Likes that you aren't a people pleaser that goes to befriend everyone and capable to kick his ass when he's being an idiot.
You're not even that small beside him, like the height difference is 9cm. Sonic feel tall but not enough to mess with you about it.
"Mamoru" is a word that he would like too and don't worry about live your life to your fullest with him cause he would never let that happen ! If you want something he would push you for it !
Actions movies are is favorite so far since he integrated a "normal" japanese society, doesn't like romance ones too but sci-fi doesn't takes that much his interest, I likely see him sleep during them.
The tsundere he is founded recomfort in your oblivious facade but once he knew about your hiden obsvervative nature it became his worst nightmare : When he would believe that he can let his guard down and that you won't see if he let somes evidence about if he's doing something subtly romantic or that he admit again slightly have feelings for you, you would caught him out off guard and point out with a lot of sass how he is such a tsundere.
Sonic is very loyal, but you will have to proove him first that you are to him.
He doesn't have an official birthday but I'm pretty sure his chart is strongly influenced by either Aries or Sagittarius. He got strong vibes in my opinion.
Your touch makes him flustered but I do think he's into physical touch as a love language and act of services even if he whines and act as a tsundere before doing something for you.
Sonic probably sucks at playing Among Us so he takes it even worse than he would notmally do that you're a good impo' and just rage whenever you are one.
Is in love with your aura brighter than his.
Also is secretely admirative of your musicals skills, likes when you play clarinet or piano except that he's not a fan or baritone.
Kill la Kill is definitely an anime that I could see him enjoy so you can rewatch with him without any problem.
Nothing is forced in your relationship so you two goes at the rythm that you want. No pressure.
A lot of laugh and fun, even if Sonic lives as a bandit, I can see two as partner in crime or you as the one that bring him kn the right path, your choice !
Try to doesn't involve you in his problem and makes some times for both of you.
Sonic never let you in his home as he changes often and literaly live in an abandonned area, a dirty place really that you don't deserve to live in and him neither but he don't care about himself.
So always it's at your place if you want to being at home with him.
He's researched so you two can't date often but you does watch the town together on the rooftop of higher buildings.
Others potential matchs :
Tatsumaki.
My hero Academia >>>
I match you with...
Dabi
Tumblr media
Oh God. Here we have a pretty explosive combination.
Honestly, he won't like you and likes you at the same time the first time you will met.
He likes your style and doesn't mind the way you can come as agressive at first but does dislike how opiniated you can be, like it's a bit too much for him. It's a pros and your cons at the same time but the worst I think is if you impose your opinion to him, like girl... he would literaly eject you.
But as you're opiniated you're aren't afraid to speak for yourself and you're able to debate at least to defend your opinion. I definitely can't see him with someone that doesn't bother to think about the our society at least a little bit.
Dabi probably makes fun of how slow it can be for you taking decision and analyzing situatuon but does respect it as sometimes things can't always be resolved in the second and that usually your reflexions are pretty accurate and goes more further than his. He's not dumb but definitely a man of action.
I know you're against corruption im sorry but I likely see Dabi try to corrupt your beliefs of right and wrong in a playful way, he doesn't force you to anything but jokes about how you're idealistic and so innocent. This isn't the same type of corruption but yeah...
Besides that he's admirative of your strong sense of justice, unlike others heroes you're sincere about it.
And don't hesit to kick some ass, even his. You're not afraid to makes enemies or disagree and that does makes you an honest person in Dabi eyes.
Doesn't understand how you can be afraid to live your life to your fullest and would likely tell you to do what you want to do and don't care about others.
He's very protective of you so he doesn't like to meet you outside and like Sonic is loyal whenever you are. You need to gain his trust.
You're so much brighter than him it hurts, you're his dose of light in his darker world.
He would notice your secret obsvervative nature quicker than anybody else and wouldn't even be surprised if you notice a lot of things about him that he didn't know himself. Actually I even think that in your relationship you would think of him as the careless one when he is for real but a lot less with you.
I'm pretty sure that the fact that you're not someone into romance is something is glad about like... this isn't is thing at all and so it's isn't yours too you don't except him to be very romantic what he's totally not.
This man would understand his feelings toward you after a while like you two can wait more than 8 months like this if nothing confront him to realize his strong attachement to you.
So you know know how he is please let him breathe and do not takes initiative of physical affection in public if it's not a very slight one or that he's not in a playful mood.
Can always dream of a proper date.
Others potential matchs :
Himiko Toga, Kyoka Jirou.

Heavily cluttered, as many Bucklemming eps are, but worth the trip. There was a lot of goodness in 15.08 and there were two moments where I shrieked out loud.
My two out loud-shriek moments, let’s get that out of the way:
Queen Rowena. Caaaaalled it.
Dean and Cas are going back??? To???? Purgatory???? Together?????? And Bobo???? Is???? Writing the episode???????????? *SHRIEKING AND FLAILING*
Okay more orderly and sedate now. Eileen is so damn fierce. She’s a very physical fighter, she’s smart but seems to use a blunt fighting skill. She can punch HARD. I love watching that so so much. I would enjoy female characters on SPN like this regardless, but the fact that this is a hero character with a disability and it’s never a big deal is deeply refreshing and SPN did something really really right bringing her back, amen.
Protective Sam shows up and Eileen is happy to see him but literally pushes him aside so she can make the kill. She doesn’t need his protection, but she also values him as a hunting partner as the ep shows. Also they’re trying to build a relationship here. Eileen seems used to hunting solo and Sam wants to offer backup, and he got worried.
So the plan is to lock up Chuck like Chuck locked up Amara. The sweet irony of this delights me. He tried to shut away the divine feminine rather than actually stepping up to deal with his sister as, well, a person (well, a divine deity, but still, a being with feelings and thoughts and complexities). Chuck, the arrogant and narcissistic toxic masculinity God, maybe to be locked up now instead as his hubris and his lack of empathy and his petulance is exposed. What if Amara was the more competent deity all along?
There is no way Dean doesn’t know what an Achilles’ heel is. The random WTF of this is so much it’s not even angering it’s just so bizarre. LOL what even. Look I am really enjoying S15 but I hope the butterfly net tightens on stopping this kind of thing because honestly. I’ll just pretend that scene isn’t there. Luckily I enjoyed the episode overall a lot.
Team Free Will in research mode together in the bunker just really makes me happy. Cas is where he belongs.
Donatello!Chuck threatening Jody, Donna, Eileen, “pretty much everyone on your speed dial” as a deterrent to Sam and Dean is bearing out again my impressions of how Chuck views these characters. I’m still not 100% sure what he thinks of Cas who is right in the room but Chuck doesn’t seem to acknowledge him, except as some sort of right arm to Sam and Dean, as I’ve said in other posts, I think Chuck regards him as a nuisance now, and a deterrent to his miserable endings, and a pawn. Just like Donna, Jody, and Eileen, to him, they’re just pawns. They’re all people Sam and Dean care about, and Chuck will use them to keep his two favorites in line.
See what I did there?
Yeah. Chuck doesn’t care about the characters as people. Everyone except Sam and Dean are expendable and tools to be used so he can control Sam and Dean and that’s it. He’ll destroy them with a snap of his fingers and won’t care. Look at that. Familiar attitude, isn’t it. How interesting.
“If you want to stay here, stay here.” Dean’s gone back to not!listening to Cas I see. While Cas is Dean-avoidant and trying not to look at him throughout the episode. But both of them are thawing just a little.
Like when Cas heals Dean’s cut palm and the way it’s staged looks like he’s going to take Dean’s hand to do it which I don’t think is an accident. That moment was meant to be soft.  Dean didn’t ask. Cas offered. And Dean didn’t jerk his hand away or say no. Then there’s the fact that Cas is going to go with Sam and Dean into Hell despite all his misgivings about Michael and this entire plan.
Team Free Will, getting all researchy together, and then getting all BAMFY together with their angel blades going into Hell.
We didn’t get any kind of nod back to Dean and Cas’s last visit together to Hell and that’s the second time they have been back to Hell (well the last time was some sort of Hell ante-room, the cage was brought up iirc) and SPN failed to nod to it, WHY AM I CONTINUALLY DENIED THIS.
“Hello, boys.” There it is. My actual shriek of delight. I hope it didn’t alarm the neighbors.
“I took it.”  Yes you did, my red-headed goddess queen of the underworld. You sure did. GET IT ROWENA. Rowena won the game of thrones. Boom.
She’s a little flirty with Sam, still has a soft spot for him I think.
And then starts playing marriage counselor for Dean and Cas. “What am I picking up with you two? A wee tiff?....So fix it.” Someone called this, I’m fairly certain, that if Rowena saw Dean and Cas again during their divorce she’d size that situation up and down and comment on it. FIX IT. So say we all.
“Family sucks.” Jake Abel did such a fantastic job in this. tbh I didn’t give much thought to Adam all these years, it seemed like SPN was never going back there. I liked Jake’s performances in S5, but it just seemed like a story that was over. But Jake Abel, man. He comes back after all this time and owns the dual roles and made me care. With a performance that was alternately fearsome and vulnerable.
“That’s adorable.” Dean is SO happy about Sam and Eileen, he looked so soft, and still a bit not okay because his chosen other half is barely looking at him, but mostly Dean’s rooting for Sam to have some happiness. “If it was to work, she gets it, she gets us, she gets the life.” It’s a retreated on Sam’s speech back during “Baby” about someone...something...who understands the life. And Sam has found that with Eileen.
Meanwhile Cas is right there, with Dean, with this great big chasm still open between them but...he’s there. And all the arrows point towards him for Dean.
Dean and Cas are being magnets again. Not like in S14 where every time there is a crisis they stand very close together and are drawn together, now they’re like magnets that are trying not to feel the pull but they cannot escape each other’s pull nor do they really want to, but they can’t quite figure out how to cross the distance.
There’s more than one scene where Dean or Cas is out of focus and the other in focus, as if to emphasize how they’re both there but not in phase with each other. Not yet.
I so enjoyed the Cas and Michael stuff. Cas’s prayer to Michael, Michael’s mad on for Cas. “Oh, I didn’t come to beg.” And there’s the ruthless strategic angel.
There’s also something really...fitting about Sam and Dean and Cas all being the ones standing outside the ring of holy fire together to trap an archangel who they effectively hope to bring in from the cold, to their side, in a post S6 era of the show.
“To paraphrase a friend you had an entire oak tree shoved up your ass.” I see Cas is still quoting Dean, having Dean as a compass point or a North star. Even if he can barely look at Dean right now.
Cas telling Michael his unimportance to God and keeping the upper hand is just...so satisfying. Cas has grown so much. I keep thinking about S5 Cas and how despite how powerful Cas was back then, radiating power in ways he doesn’t quite do the same way now, Cas always seemed so...smol next to the archangels. Punching above his weight class. But now he faces down Michael and tells Michael rawly how it is with their dad Chuck. And when Michael tries to choke him, he fights past it and goes into Michael’s mind to show him everything, to help him see the truth. Cas has grown so much, this felt a lot like a little brother constantly picked on leaves home, grows, and comes back to find big, big brother isn’t quite as big and intimidating as he remembers.
Which in fact he isn’t, because Michael is capable of insight and change and feelings too. He’s not his father. Despite being the favorite. Despite clinging still to his hero-worship. But Cas worked past that with Chuck long ago.
When Eileen’s friend needs help on a hunt, and Eileen goes to Sam, Sam goes with her, no doubts. Tells Dean he’s going, as Dean recounts to Cas, and Dean seems cool with it.
Sam and Eileen seem to be growing closer and closer, and while there is something tentative about Sam, he definitely is drawn to her and cares. That tentativeness is from past hurt and loss and maybe he’s scared to enter into this kind of relationship. But they’ve got their own magnetic pull together, they fit.
Dean and Cas facing each other in that bunker kitchen, the lighting darker and colder than usual. They’re facing each other, and each shift in and out of camera focus, not looking at each other much. Cas can’t look at Dean at all in this scene, while Dean keeps sneaking glances at Cas. In other scenes, Cas does sneak looks at Dean. They are ridiculous and my heart hurts. The blocking here is them facing each other only not--they are a few feet off, so looking past each other.
Cas sitting at that table, hands folded, staring straight ahead and working very hard obviously to Not Look at Dean.
Dean’s reaction on Cas reporting the words Michael said, “I want you dead, get out.” The things Dean has said to Cas are coming back to haunt him, coming from the words of their once mortal enemy, that’s gotta sting.
Both Dean and Cas have some work to do here, but Dean definitely is already very aware his own words went too far, and has been for a while.
“God lied to me. I loved him.” Oh wow that hurt, I didn’t expect these feelings.
A thing about Adam and Michael, both feeling so abandoned by their families, and losing everyone. They offered support to each other. They worked out a time-share in Adam’s body. We’ve seen genuine vessel and angel bonds form before (in Lily Sunder). There’s also a S7 episode by Ben Edlund about the bond between a human and the demon who possessed him. Not sure how healthy Adam and Michael are, but they seem weirdly functional, and don’t despise each other and I kind of have some feelings about Adam and Michael bonding the way they did in The Cage. Perhaps Michael shielded Adam from the worst of it. It’s how Adam is coherent after being down there for so long. Maybe Adam made Michael less lonely. Did I ASK for feelings about Adam and Michael, no I did nOT and yet here we are.
Then there’s Adam. It was interesting that scene where Sam acknowledges maybe they gave up too easily. Because Sam and Dean refuse to accept it when it’s each other they lose, and have gone way over the line to get the other one back. Here Sam is admitting that it shouldn’t be just for them. That Adam was worth saving. Even though they don’t know him well, he still didn’t deserve what happened (as Dean acknowledges at the end of the ep). And Sam and Dean never mentioning him again or giving him another thought apparently, all these seasons...well, that kind of made me assume that was that. Just because someone is blood, doesn’t make you family and they barely knew Adam.
But if it’s someone who could potentially earn that? Someone basically good? And they just...forgot about him and left him to his torment in Hell? So this did need addressing. There’s not much time to develop a relationship with Adam and TFW this late in the game but there was a start here.
Dean likewise offers his apology to Adam at the end. “You’re a good man. You didn’t deserve that.”
Right when I was thinking, so many of them don’t get what they deserve, they just keep getting Hell heaped on their heads, Adam says “Since when do we get what we deserve.”
There’s a subtle thing there where Adam looks at Cas, Cas very pointedly still tries to be not looking at Dean, and after Adam leaves Dean turns to Cas looking so...sorrowful for a moment. I keep saying, Dean and Cas deserve each other, and right now they can’t figure how to have each other.
But Michael left them a strange gift. The Leviathan flower, to seal away Chuck, but the gift has a double meaning (unintentionally on Michael’s part). It’s not just the tool to shut away the villain, Michael opens a door to Purgatory and boom just like that, opens up a whole doorway on Dean and Cas’s story because of the emotional significance of Purgatory for them. What they had there. What happened there. The way that place broke loose some of their feelings. I’m not sure what’s going to happen now, if they both go, as the promo glimpses seem to suggest, does one return and the other gets trapped? Is Dean’s prayer to Cas going to be inside Purgatory, is Cas also still in Purgatory and they get separated? Is being thrown together back into that environment going to help them heal? Or will they be torn apart again but that provides another route to reconciliation?

THE MEGA RP PLOTTING SHEET / MEME.
First and foremost, recall that no one is perfect, we all have witnessed some plotting once which did not went too well, be it because of us or our partner. So here have this, which may help for future plotting. It’s a lot! Yes, but perhaps give your partners some insight? Anyway BOLD what fully applies, italicize if only somewhat.
Tumblr media
Mun Name: vinn (or ila, for close friends)     Age: 22       Contact: IM, discord
Character(s) I rp: aizen sosuke on here, askin nakk ke vaar (@ levaer) and lille barro (@ firstritter, sideblog) Which muse(s) inspires you the most atm?(for MM): all of them actually. Current Fandom(s): bleach. Fandom(s) you have an AU for:  none. i’ve been debating about making a modern au but i wouldn’t be sure what to explore in it. within the context of bleach, though, i’m very interested in developing a bunch of AUs. My language(s): i’m only confident in writing in italian or english.  Themes I’m interested in for rp:   Fantasy / Science fiction / Horror / Western / Romance / Thriller / Mystery / Dystopia / Adventure / Modern / Erotic / Crime / Mythology / Classic / History / Renaissance / Medieval / Ancient / War / Family / Politics / Religion / School / Adulthood / Childhood / Apocalyptic / Gods / Sport / Music / Science / Fights / Angst / Smut / Drama / etc. Themes/Genres you have an AU for: none.
Preferred Thread length: one-liner / 1 para / 2 para / 3+ / novella. Asks can be send by: Mutuals / Non-Mutuals / Personals / Anons. Can Asks be continued?:   YES / NO   only by Mutuals?:  YES / NO. Preferred thread type: crack / casual nothing too deep / serious / deep as heck. Is realism / research important for you in certain themes?:   YES / NO. Are you atm open for new plots?:  YES / NO / DEPENDS. Do you handle your draft / ask - count well?:  YES / NO / SOMEWHAT. How long do you usually take to reply?:  24h / 1 week / 2 weeks / 3+ / months / years. I’m okay with interacting: original characters / a relative of my character (an oc) / duplicates / my fandom / crossovers / multi-muses / self-inserts / people with no AU verse for my fandom / canon-divergent portrayals / au-versions (as main or only verse). Do you post more ic or occ?:  IC / OOC. Are you selective with following others?:  YES / NO / DEPENDS.
Best ways to approach you for rp/plotting:  if you want to plot, it would be best to send me an IM and ask me, then we can definitely move to discord if you’d rather. it’s possible to approach me for rp without plotting first, best way would be to send me a meme when i reblog them or simply an ic ask, which i will answer, while memes might get lost. ic asks are good ice-breakers, we can continue plotting from there.
What expectations do you hold towards your plotting partner:  i need my partners to be as interested in our plot as i am. it would be great if you already have an idea, but it’s still good if you don’t, i get that coming up with ideas can be hard sometimes; mostly, i require honesty. you can definitely tell me that you got no ideas and i will do my best to help, ask questions, try to spark something. i do require the feeling of having that commitment reciprocated.
When you notice the plotting is rather one-sided, what do you do?:  i tend to straight up drop the conversation lmao. no hard feelings, but if i get the feeling you’re not interested, i will take my distance - i won’t waste my energy on a plot if my partner doesn’t share my enthusiasm. still, you can always approach me again, if you’re feeling up to it / have new ideas / whatever. nice thing of online convos is that they don’t have an expiration date lol.
How do you usually plot with others, do you give input or leave most work towards your partner?:  i always ask if they got any ideas to begin with. if my partner already knows, more or less, what kind of dynamic they wanna build with my character(s), that makes it infinitely easier to build something meaningful. it’s still fine if they don’t, i will usually ask a lot of questions regarding their muse’s opinions / feelings / etc., and try to navigate from there. a question i usually ask is: is there any aspect of your muse you’d like to explore? i think that’s a pivotal point in any interaction.
When a partner drops the thread, do you wish to know?:   YES / NO / DEPENDS. - And why?: if they feel like telling me, why not. but usually, i don’t warn when i drop a thread, so it’s not expected of my partners ever. - What should your partner do when dropping a thread?:  nothing in particular tbh. they can tell me or approach me to start a new thread if they wish to, but it’s not required.
What could possibly lead you to drop a thread?:  i might lose interest in a thread, especially if i feel like it’s going nowhere or if the inspiration for it simply doesn’t come. it’s never happened so far that i had to drop a thread because it was making me uncomfortable, but that could still be a reason for me to. in general, though, i would approach my partner in that case. - Will you tell your partner?:   YES / NO / DEPENDS.
Is communication in the rpc important to you?   YES / NO. - And why?:  absolutely. i’d rather avoid awkward situations or misunderstandings of any kind; if something’s up, tell me. i also like to communicate with my writing partners (be it in the tags of our threads or in IMs), makes me feel like the enthusiasm is not one-sided and i find it generally pleasant.  - Are you okay with absolute honesty, even if it may means hearing something negative about you and/or portrayal?:  sure. we gotta stay polite, but honest. - Do you think you can handle such situation in a mature way?  YES / NO.
Why do you rp again, is there a goal?:  to have fun, to cultivate my writing skills and my english, and to explore my favorite characters.
Wishlist, be it plots or scenarios:  i want to develop aizen’s wandenreich verse, because i’m deep in quincy hell and i think his dynamics with quincy muses could be super interesting. anything involving the intricacies of bleach politics is super interesting to me, be it with aizen or with my two quincy muses - who, btw, are also good to explore dynamics between quincies / their culture / relationships etc.
Themes I won’t ever rp / explore:  i won’t write anything pertaining to sexual assault.
What Type of Starters do you prefer / dislike, can’t work with?: it’s gotten difficult to work with starters such as “you summoned me / do you need anything / did you call for me” etc. i used to receive that kind of starters all the time with aizen, and i can’t come up with something new every damn time. i also have a hard time working with starters / replies that already feel like a closed conversation and don’t give me anything to reply to.
What type of characters catch your interest the most?:  i’m not sure i have a type. aizen is pretty much an exception, the only example of an already well-built character i write, since i tend to gravitate around minor ones that don’t have much material and that i can work on and expand without being affected by the fandom’s opinion or whatever. somehow i always tend to rp tall guys-
What type of characters catch your interest the least?:  children and teenagers don’t interest me for the most part. characters who don’t have a shred of an opinion or can’t offer any interesting conflicts. overly friendly, mushy, affectionate and flowery characters are really not my cup of tea either.
What are your strong aspects as rp partner?:  oh god i have no idea. i’m very laid-back, i guess. i’ll never pressure my partners for replies, i don’t think i’m owed a reply in the first place because we all have lives offline,  so i’ll never take it to heart if a partner drops a thread. if i really feel like our roleplaying styles don’t mesh, it will be at my own discretion to do something about it. another strong aspect i have ....... i think i have a decent grasp on all my muses? especially aizen. of course ur free to disagree lol. also, lately i’ve been p active, so that’s it.
What are your weak aspects as rp partner?: i’m really slow. i might speed up for my closest friends, with whom i plot / rp regularly, but usually i take quite some time to reply to random unplotted threads. i probably have a thousand other flaws as a rper, but this is the biggest one that comes to my mind rn.
Do you rp smut?:  YES / NO. Do you prefer to go into detail?:  YES / NO / DEPENDS. Are you okay with black curtain?:  YES / NO. - When do you rp smut? More out of fun or character development?:  i don’t write detailed sex scenes. sorry lmao they’re just not interesting to me. however, i’m super-ok with writing anything around it, like intimate scenes etc. in fact i find it somewhat soothing.  - Anything you would not want to rp there?:  the nitty-gritty part is already a no, but i guess also sexual violence and shit like that. it’s a no.
Are ships important to you?:   YES / NO. Would you say your blog is ship-focused?:   YES / NO. Do you use read more?:  YES / NO / SOMETIMES. Are you: Multi-Ship / Single-Ship / Dual-Ship  —  Multiverse / Singleverse. - What do you love to explore the most in your ships?:  all my ships are with snow 8′) and ur never bored with her. in general, i love being able to explore the muses’ relationships, their conflicts and their peaceful moments, especially in relation to canon events! - What is your smut tag?: nsfw / ........ my n*sfw posts are rare anyway.
Are you okay with pre-established relationships?: YES / NO. - And what kind of ones?: to an extent, i prefer pre-est relationships to first meetings - which they can get a bit dull after some time. i’m ok with mostly anything, and only more selective when it comes to relationships that might severely alter my muse’s canon / past / overall character.
► SECTION ABOUT YOUR MUSE.
- What could possibly make your Muse interesting towards others, why should they rp with this particular character of yours now, what possible plots do they offer?:  not to stroke my own feathers but aizen offers a perfect chance at character development to any and all bleach characters. he’s the main villain, he holds some wild opinions, and whether you agree or disagree with him, he leaves no one indifferent. aizen is the main cornerstone of bleach, and if you want your muse to questions themselves and the system / world around them, interacting with him is the best way to start. also, aizen interacted with a fuckton of people, knows practically everything there is to know, is responsible for significant amount of canon events, so you see ... whatever character you write, aizen has the full potential to be extremely relevant in the course of their development.
- With what type of Muses do you usually struggle to rp with?:   children, ordinary low-ranked shinigami (i find it hard when it’s out of the blue, even in aizen’s captain and lieutenant verses ... because interactions would likely be only work-related, and won’t go far), characters whose personalities really have nothing to do with aizen. unfortunately, he’s not my easiest muse, and i don’t want to force interactions with him.  - With what type of Muses do they usually work well with?:  characters who have opinions, some political involvement, in general characters with whom aizen had a dynamic in canon.
- What interests your Muse(s) in general:  reading, calligraphy, philosophy (especially in-world philosophy), science (again, mostly related to the specificity of the bleach universe), the very careful crafting of his plan- - What do they desire, is their goal?:  kill the soul king and take its place, destroy the institutions of soul society, subdue them. and then rule, as the soul king never did before. - What catches their interest first when meeting someone new?:  the idiosyncracies in their behavior, the particularities, their possible weaknesses.  - What do they value in a person?:    very little, usually. he may appreciate a resolute personality, strength, and intelligence. - What themes do they like talking about?:  speaking mostly of mundane talks, he likes conversing about his interests. it takes a lot for him to share any personal information, though. - Which themes bore them?:  anything about the greater good, friendship, love, very human topics.
- Did they ever went through something traumatic?:  seeing the soul king, in all things like a ghost stalking his dreams, and well ... spending his early life in rukongai as a whole. being forced to consume other souls in order to survive. the first times his reiatsu killed anyone who tried to get near him.  - What could possibly trigger them?:  it’s rare that he will outwardly show signs of distress, i’d say almost impossible. the few times the soul king still appears in his mind, greatly upsets him though. - What could set them off, enrage them?:  the soul king gets him particularly heated. urahara, as we witnessed. after his defeat, ichigo, to an extent. - What could lead to an instant kill?:  kubo was a coward who didn’t dare let him kill any relevant character, but actually aizen kills very liberally.
- Is there someone /-thing they hate?:  the soul king, urahara. he has a strong disdain for yamamoto, and that joke of C46. - Is there someone /-thing they love?:    himself. tousen
Is your Muse easy to approach?: YES / NO. - Best ways to approach them?:  he’s only really easy to approach for bleach characters, who, depending on who they are, have different eligible verses to further facilitate the interaction. humans / powerless bleach characters can’t really interact with him tho. - Where are they usually to find?:  soul society or hueco mundo. i have a verse set in the wandenreich.
Something you may still want to point out about your muse?:  aizen is not a particularly easy muse, but it’s part of his overall mosaic to be somewhat unapproachable and distant. i’m not out to make him someone he is not, so forgive me in advance if plotting with me turns out to be difficult in a way or another. he’s very dear to me, and i try my best to do him justice! while my main headcanons may not affect our interactions specifically, i still ask my partners to look them up (they’re linked in my about page) because they’re essential to my portrayal and it makes me happy to have them acknowledged. i think that’s all lmao. come visit me over at my quincy boys too.
CONGRATS!!! You managed it, now tag your mutuals! ♥

One, I followed you into t100 and now at the last I have followed you into Barry (it's so good!). Two, I'm teaching a writing "workshop" (that's not the right word--not a workshop proper. It's going to be two hours and we're covering a few different topics with a mix of lecture/questions/practice--in dance, that's what a workshop is) this weekend for the students in my freshman intro class. I'm going over common comp things that make writing harder to read, what they are and how they work. (1/2)
I’m doing passive voice, independent and dependent clauses, where the subject and the main predicate are in a sentence and how far apart they are, intro/conclusion structure, using a long quote, when to give all the details of a point and when to just briefly summarize, or some mix of the above. (2/3)
The course as a whole is for entering freshman students to get into College Life, with a theme of basic mathematical proofs and writing. It’s cataloged in such a way that this might be one of the only writing courses many of them take, and I want to go over simple, beyond technically correct grammar, composition stuff that I think they really should have at least the opportunity to learn. Any advice? (3/3)
yay barry! i wrote an 8k barry fic and i still haven’t posted it. maybe one day.
also yay, a pedagogy question!
while i definitely think somebody should teach students grammatical stuff, i also believe that at the college level, if they’re still struggling, they need to utilize alternate resources like one-on-one tutoring in order to get up to speed. at my school there’s a writing center where they can drop in and someone will go over their entire paper with them. i try to veer away from teaching anecdotal information (with the exception of MLA format, which is a pain to teach because for the life of me i can’t make it fun) and stick instead to focusing on how to develop critical thinking so they have the ability to pinpoint the things that aren’t working and the skills to find the answers. they know how to use google, but they don’t yet know how to figure out what they don’t know.
i focus on teaching writing as rhetoric, which strips away the entire concept of Correct Grammar. all writing is dependent on audience and any rules that might exist change for the genre of each text. you email your professors in a different voice than you text your friends. if you have mistakes or use shorthand or slang in a text to your friends, that’s not wrong at all, in fact it’s totally correct writing for the genre. there’s no such thing as incorrect language, only an inability to adapt your voice to your audience.
in my class, i have students across all majors. some of them are going on to take a handful of humanities courses or seminars that have 15-page literary analysis assignments. others will go on to write dozens of lab reports. and yet others will have to write cold hard scientific research papers. all of those are different genres and require different writing skills. if i focus on the expectations of one field, the students who are in the others won’t be prepared to go to their future writing-intensive courses. so i aim instead to teach them how to throw and change their voice as necessary in any given medium, and moreover, how to face the blank page without fear.
here are some important texts that might generate good discussion on language and how they’ve approached writing in the past versus how they might approach it in college:
“should writers use they own english?” by vershawn ashanti young
“the transformation of silence into language and action” by audre lorde
“shitty first drafts” by anne lamott
lastly, in any writing class i think it’s important to talk as little as possible so students have room to speak. they’re better at teaching each other (and listen more to each other) than i am, and more importantly, a good teacher is one who guides students to conclusions rather than offering them answers. 90% of what i do when i teach is ask questions, and as students offer responses, i write them on the board. together we look at the notes we took and come to conclusions about whatever topic we’re discussing. socratic method, babey.

hi, sorry if this is too personal of a question, but i was wondering how you realized you had adhd? i think i may have adhd but i don’t really want to say anything to my family until i am positive? thank you!
Hey there! No worries at all, I’m a very open person.
I want to start by stressing that I’m currently on the waiting list for NHS assessment, because the UK process for diagnosis is very drawn-out and underfunded. However, though I don’t yet have the piece of paper that “officially” means I have ADHD, myself and my GP agree that I exhibit a lot of the symptoms, and they’ve managed to affect my life to the degree that I need some help.
The primary symptoms for me - well, my most significant issue involves problems with working memory - myself and my partner call it my “if it’s not in front of me, it’s gone” problem. If I don’t have a task that needs doing literally in eyesight in some way, I will completely blank on needing to do it. I also blank on verbal instruction, and have to ask people to repeat things a lot. I often walk into rooms and then stop, because I’ve forgotten why I’m there. And it’s not just occasional - everyone will walk into a room now and then and be like, wait, why am I here. I do it on a daily basis. I have to keep extensive and strict checklists for even the simplest of tasks, or I’ll forget about it. To set up for the day, I write a to-do list on Habitica, and then I write one on a physical post-it as well, and then if something’s really urgent I write it on my hand just to really make sure I’ll see it. And even then I miss things!
Task initiation is also a problem for me, but it’s at the core of ADHD itself, so that’s not surprising. I’ve always found this symptom troubling, because when I was initially investigating ADHD I didn’t think I had issues with task initiation, but I’ve come to realise through time and through the example of my partner, who definitely doesn’t have ADHD, that I do have it. Important difficult thing that needs doing? Nope. Too Much. I can’t even explain it, that sensation of Nope, Too Much, but it’s like a physical wall between me and the thing that needs to be done. Examples: I’ve needed to get a dentist for literally seven months, and I still haven’t done it. I also once needed to get a car scrapped and took TWO YEARS to actually get it done, and even then it only got done because my dad organised it for me. Exam prep? Oh man. That one’s a double whammy. If I didn’t put a note out for myself, or if I put my books away out of sight, then I’d just forget, and I’d end up cramming literally either the night before or the morning of. I’m quite fortunate in that I’m naturally intelligent, so I was able to “coast” like that through my GCSEs, but then my A Levels came along, and - well.
How did I realise I had ADHD, you ask? Well. For a lot of people with ADHD, they don’t realise there’s something going on until they hit a “wall.” In my case, I hit two walls a few years apart. The first wall was my A Levels. In the UK we do GCSEs, which are basic broad-spectrum qualifications, and then we do A Levels, which you select yourself and are more tailored to what you want to do in life. The jump from A Level to university undergraduate degree is very small. The jump from GCSEs to A Level is ENORMOUS, and I fell flat on my face. At GCSE level, without retaking any exams and with quite honestly little to no revision, I got fifteen GCSEs. Nine of them were A*s, and two were Bs. The remaining four were all As. The key thing is: I was a really excellent student.
Then I went up to A Level, and at the end of the first year I got: D, E, C, and U. For non-UK folk - a U if a grade so bad that it’s not even an F for fail - it’s U for unclassified.
I got 12% on the exam. I was heartbroken and completely lost. Everyone around me was shocked. My biology teacher was so sure there’d been a clerical mistake that she rang the exam board on my behalf! Except - there was no mistake. I’d just completely beefed it, to the nth degree.
Through unbelievable hard work and sheer terror, I managed to retake everything and come out of my A Levels with A, A, B, B. Not what I or anyone who knew me had expected - I’d always been predicted straight A*s - but good grades. Good enough to take the heat off of what had gone wrong, so on I sailed into university and beyond.
Retail work, retail work, volunteering - I was a busy bee for a few years. Then I got my first Adult Job, which was in editorial. Here was my second wall, and I left after six months to do an MA in Graphic Design, convinced that I must have picked something entirely wrong for me. I was shattered, confused, and it would take me at least a year to even slightly recover. In that year I kept busy, both with my MA, and with my research into ADHD. And the more I read, the more it dawned on me that this might just be the explanation for what had happened to me.
-
Here are some of the symptoms that really resonated with me then, and still do now:
Focus - I find it incredibly difficult to focus on something I’m not interested in, to the point that my brain just Nopes it. I describe it to the people around me as being like trying to balance a drop of water on a duck’s back. All the water wants to do is slide right off, and while for most people focusing on something they don’t want to do is something they can do even if they don’t like it, for me it’s that balancing act - something that requires all my attention and then some, and often ends in failure.
Sensitivity - Repetitive noises and actions both drive me absolutely WILD. I can’t stand either. Many a clock has suffered my wrath and had its batteries removed at 3am. Ironic, considering I have a really bad case of RLS (restless leg syndrome) and constantly have to shift around in my seat until I’m a position where I can Jiggle Good.
Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria - I overreact to negative feedback, taking it as a personal slight or assuming that the person hates me or no longer loves me. It’s an overwhelming thing, an almost physical sensation, and I’ve had quite a few panic attacks over the years because of it.
I also experience these:
Acting without thinking
Constantly changing activity or task
Difficulty organising tasks
Irregular sleeping patterns / difficulty sleeping
Anxiety
Mood swings & irritability - (this coupled with acting without thinking has ruined a lot of friendships for me over the years. It’s only recently, and with the patient help of my partner, that I’ve been able to slowly change and get a better handle on this aspect of myself)
Starting new tasks before finishing old ones
And on a more positive note, also these:
Creativity (constant racing thoughts mean a lot of ideas)
Information-lust (just gotta KNOW what that xyz means)
-
Last but not least, hyperfocus. Where would I be without hyperfocus? It’s what makes me who I am. It’s what lets me speed read books in just a couple of hours, or write two books and a DND campaign of my own despite working however many jobs at the time. It’s what lets me watch a two hour documentary about microscope slides because I “just gotta KNOW, man.” I am ever the font of random facts out of the people I know, and I love that about myself. I love how hungry I am for new information, new skills, and new stories.
I hope this (very long) post has been helpful. I wish you all the best with your ADHD journey - and please remember, if your doctor is at all dismissive of your experiences, get a second opinion! Especially if you’re female or look feminine - doctors often won’t listen to you anyway but especially so with ADHD because it’s still perceived as a “boy’s condition.” I had to get a second opinion, and in my case the second doctor has been fantastic and is totally on my side while the first was not at all.

Prologue
Long text ahead, don’t read if you don’t like it
Introduction
As she struggles her breath running deep into the forest, she could tell that someone or something was getting closer. She had no navigation through the forest, with her baggy clothes under her cloak, she was already having a hard time going through the forest. Needless to say that when she felt something was staring at her, and the feeling wasn’t a beast nor human, that was why  she decided to run. She curses as she reminds herself that she chose this.
My name is Laure. I am a special girl from a special family in a special world, where mystical beast and creatures exist. Werewolves, succubus, vampires, witches, and so on, you name it, it’s there, but they only exist based on where the myths were told. My family lives in London, a city from England.
As those creatures came into our world by an ominous reason, they wound go out of control pretty easily. As humans are fearful as they are, they started to find ways to exterminate them, but of course, there are always strong ones that they cannot do so, as they also have their own system or organized civilizations to prevent themselves from going extinct.
My family specializes is killing vampires, also known as the vampire hunters, some of them act upon requests while some wanders to kill. These creatures or beast hunters are never bounded by rules or law because the moment humans started killing the creatures and beasts, the higher ups had established a rule, anybody who has killed the creatures or beasts are not bounded by law as it will definitely interfere with their hunting, but they must be licensed to do so, any illegal hunting that causes the any damage to the city or town must be punished or pay the price.
My family’s name is Clematis. One of the higher ranks of vampire hunters around the world (some other countries have vampire hunters because the vampires usually would spread) but because of this popularity, they must have heirs to pass their name down, how unlucky am I to be the only child in this certain family. And because of it, I always don’t get the good end of things. My mother has always been kind to me, but my father in the other hand is the opposite. Not much for abuse, but he neglects any unnecessary needs, as if he sees me as an unnecessary baggage, not that I can say anything about it.
I usually would try to sneak out to the nearby woods to find any things that I like to do research or look for new things as I like researching in science since I’m plain curious of everything, even though my father is very much disliking me for that behavior and would often scold me for it. My mother would always try to hide it from my father, she doesn’t care if I was any gender, she would still love me nonetheless, as she is unable to have another child ever again after a certain incident which I was never allowed to be told of.
Even though I never had plans of ever leaving the place, one eavesdropping changed it. I was in the manor today at it seems I wish to find a good book to read, deciding to go to the library and passed through my father’s study room, I accidentally saw a guest from the slightly opened door. From what I can see, it’s one of “them”, the ones that are also the part of the vampire slaying hunters and the one standing in front of  my father is none other than one the top 5 hunter- the Gorgesque family’s head Mr Lucas Gorgesque himself. It’s not really a surprise for them to meet each other, but being summoned for him to be here is an exception, as I got curious, I decided to inch closer to the door to hear their conversation.
“So, you have decided to give me your daughter to my son Lewis, and for what will I do that ? Heh.” The guest chuckles.
“You wouldn’t think I know that you’re just using her to establish relationships with other families?” Father was silent.
“Luckily for you, Lewis already had an interest on her, but from what it seems, you haven’t discussed this matter with anyone else yet, neither with your wife nor your daughter, am I wrong? I am certainly against the fact you’re just marrying your own daughter off like an item, unless Lewis really wants her then it would be an exception. Why don’t you arrange a meeting about this matter first before deciding anything, if you don’t, I won’t agree to this so easily since her name has already been tainted, it would bring shame to the Gorgesque family’s image.” The man fumes.
“Well there is no need for that, there is a party coming soon anyway, and we’ll discussed this matter there. You may leave now, we will meet again very soon.” Father says as he stood up ready to send him out.
I took that as my cue to dash out of the hallway before they see me. I ran to the library to gather my thoughts. The eldest son of the Gorgesque family- Lewis Gorqesque. He’s well known for his looks and skills, his hair was like the colour of tea leaves, black with a tint of forest green, his eyes shimmer with gold, his face always looks gentle and kind in front of me, I would be lying if I said he wasn’t attractive, his skills are no joke, he always uses a sharp fencing sword as his weapon since that’s his family specialty, those type of weapons are usually extremely useful for their speed, and he had never hesitate to kill as he kept a cold face on according to rumors. Yet, his presence was always slightly disturbing whenever he was around me, I couldn’t really pinpoint it, but I felt like I was the only one who felt it.
We only met a few times from the families’ gatherings, I am still to this day unsure why he would always chat with me every single time as if he’s interested in me, that was why I would occasionally get glares from some other families. I myself am pretty famous for being a disgrace for the family, I have the power and genes, yet I refused to use any of them to do what the families are known for, but i was pretty sure he would avoid me for that reason. Being the only child in one of the branches in the family means I could only be married off to establish good relationships with well known families, I already known that, never thought that it would be so soon. I am not afraid of Mr Lucas to force me onto this marriage since he feels my name will taint his family’s name. But I fear for what my father will do to achieve it, no matter what it takes.
I stood up to leave the library to seek my mother for any advice for this matter, as I am certainly inexperienced in this matter. As I arrive in front of mother’s room, I knocked.
“Who is it?” Asked the gentle voice.
“It’s me, mother.” I answered almost immediately.
“Come in then dear.” She answers
“Hello dear, you seemed really rushed for some odd reason, did something bad happened?” Mother says as she sits on her bed, beckoning me to come closer.
My mother’s name is Chimera, she is a wonderful woman who worked as an alchemist to help with vampire research before she married father, I got my blond hair from her and her indigo eyes always looks sharp as if it can pierce through one’s heart, she could be really fierce sometimes, but she is still extremely kind. After giving birth to me, an accident happened that caused her to be sterile forever, the doctors couldn’t cure it as well, the accident has a pretty tight lid on which I couldn’t pry open, they never told me what happened either.
“Mother…. I wish to ask you something about marriage….” I shyly said
Mother was shocked for a bit, after that she sighs
“It seems like the thing I feared the most is approaching…. I had feared that your father would do this… who’s the lucky one then…” She said with worrying eyes.
I hesitate a bit before answering:
“It’s the eldest son from the Gorgesque family, Lewis Gorgesque, his father came to father’s office and he seems extremely against the idea. While father said there will be a party soon to discuss this matter, but I am afraid for what father will do….”
Mother was silent for a while, then she asked:
“Are you at least interested in him? He does always look really friendly around you, then again, I won’t force you to marry anyone either.”
“….. I’m really not sure, he is somewhat friendly, but I don’t think I felt anything from it.” I replied.
Mother then smiles a bit.
“If that is the case, you can wait until the day comes, we will discuss the matter than. Until then, try to gather your thoughts a bit and reconsider them, whatever you choose, I will respect them. You might want to leave now, it’s nearly bed time for you, unless there is other matter to discuss?”
No, it’s fine, I’ll go back to my room now.” I said as I got up from the bed to head to the door.
“Alright then dear, sleep well, I wish you luck.” She said as she gave me a reassuring smile.
I hugged her before leaving the room to head back to my room. When I got back to my room, I close the door and slumped down on it. I sigh a bit before moving to my bed, ready to have my slumber, as my eyes close, I try to recollect the memories on the day we met.

I'VE BEEN PONDERING SUMMER
In Lisp, all variables are effectively pointers. Why go work as an ordinary employee for a big company, or have they abandoned the center for the suburbs?1 Especially if it meant independence for my native land, hacking.2 It's hard to engage an audience it's better to start with what goes wrong and try to trace it back to the root causes. A lot of the new startups would create new technology that further accelerated variation in productivity is far from the only source of economic inequality, the former because founders own more stock, and the rate at which it changes is itself speeding up.3 When we first started Y Combinator we have some kind of secret weapon—that he was harming his future—that hacking was cold, precise, and methodical, and that was more than enough technical skill. There is a name now for what we were: an Application Service Provider, or ASP. How little money it can take to start a company of any size to get software written.
I needed to remember, if I could give an example of a powerful macro, and say there!4 Design means making things for humans. Wrong. Big companies also don't pay people the right way to get an accurate drawing is not to make the poor richer. This sort of thing was the rule, not better off, as more than a plan A. In some ways, this assumption makes life a lot easier for the users and for us as well. Why did desktop computers take over?5 Programmers have to worry about infrastructure. For the first week or so we intended to make this point diplomatically, but in many ways pushes you in the opposite direction.6 Similarly, good new problems are not to be had for the asking. Don't be too legalistic about the conditions under which they're allowed to leave.
Now, when someone asks me what I do, I look them straight in the eye and say I'm designing a new dialect of Lisp;-Though useful to present-day union organizers rather than an attack on early ones. I think mathematicians also believe this. In the middle you have people who are poor or rich and figure out why. We were just able to develop stuff in house, and that if grad students could start startups, they'll start startups. Eric Raymond here. Which seems to me one of the most interesting differences between research and design. In fact, it may be slightly faster. We were terrified of starting a startup, there are even worse tradeoffs than these. I think about why I voted for Clinton over the first George Bush, it wasn't because I was shifting to the left or right in their morning-after analyses are like the financial reporters stuck writing stories day after day about the random fluctuations of the stock market.
This metaphor doesn't stretch that far. Maybe it will also be your cell phone. The books I bring on trips are often quite virtuous, the sort of engagement you get when speaking ad lib. It doesn't necessarily mean being self-sacrificing. For the first week or so we intended to make this an ordinary desktop application. You can't trust authorities.7 They were, as a rule, not better off, as more than one with a 50% chance of winning has to pay more than one discovered when Christmas shopping season came around and loads rose on their server. I'm letting you in on the secret early. But since then the west coast has just pulled further ahead.8 It is not the way it's portrayed on TV. And if you're writing a program that attacked the servers themselves should find them very well defended.
Sometimes I can think with noise.9 Our only expenses in that phase were food and rent. It's hard to imagine now, but when they do get paged at 4:00 AM, they don't think of themselves that way. When you switch to this new model, you realize how much software development is affected by the reactions of those around them, and c they're individually inconsistent. If you want, but not totally unlike your other friends. And that might be a great thing. As long as our hypothetical Blub programmer wouldn't use either of them.10 I'm a little embarrassed to say, I never said anything publicly about Lisp while we were working on Viaweb. As usual, by Demo Day about half the startups were doing something significantly different than they planned. So there you have it.
Notice I said what they need, not what a piece of code. Fortunately, there were few obstacles except technical ones. And more to the point of view. And creating wealth, as a rule, not better off, as more than a plan A. You never had to worry about those. If you work this way too.11 Because painters leave a trail of work behind them, you can just turn off the service. I could tell I knew how to program computers, or what life was really like in preindustrial societies, or how to program better than most people doing it for a living. I think few realize the huge spread in the value of 20 year olds.12 Prep schools openly say this is one reason intranet software will continue to do so but be content to work for someone else would get an even colder reception from the 19 year old was Bill Gates? Programs.13 The way to get in the software as soon as they got their first round of outside investors 36x.
It allows you to give an example of this rule; if you could count on investors being interested even if you're not certain, you should get summer jobs at places you'd like to work. You have the users' data right there on your disk.14 And you don't have to be poked with a stick to get them to stay is to give them enough that they don't dress up. Only 13 of these were in product development. No one will look that closely at it. You have the users' data right there on your disk.15 At any rate, the result is that scientists tend to make their fortunes will continue to do so much besides write software.16 So startup culture may not merely be different in the way of having the next. Though we were comparatively old, we weren't tied down by jobs they don't want to, but they didn't actually drop out of college and it tanks, you'll end up at 23 broke and a lot who get rich by taking money from the rich. If you write the laws very carefully, that is a good idea—but we've decided now that the party line should be to discover surprising things. This was done entirely for PR purposes. What you're afraid of competition.

Management consulting.
If you're expected to do work you love, or boards, or even being Genghis Khan is probably a losing bet for a couple hundred years or so and we ran into Yuri Sagalov. Most of the reason the founders. In fact the decade preceding the war had been a waste of time on is a new version from which they don't know. 6% of the products I grew up with much greater inconveniences than that.
Even in English, our sense of a startup enough to invest in a safe environment, and then a block or so and we did not become romantically involved till afterward. They seem to be hard on the grounds that a startup is rare. Companies often wonder what to do whatever gets you there sooner.
9999 and.
Globally the trend has been around as long as the web have sucked—A Spam Classification Organization Program. The point where things start with consumer electronics.
People and The Old Way. But if you tell them what to do video on-demand, because you can't even claim, like the bizarre consequences of this essay talks about programmers, the other cheek skirts the issue; the point where it was briefly in Britain in the Ancient World, Economic History Review, 2:9 1956,185-199, reprinted in Finley, M.
Inside their heads a giant house of cards is tottering. In fact the less powerful language in it.
The only people who might be 20 or 30 times as much income. Selina Tobaccowala stopped to think about, like arithmetic drills, instead of editors, and astronomy. Incidentally, the police treat people more equitably. There can be done at a famous university who is highly regarded by his peers will get funding, pretty much regardless of how to use those solutions.
For example, because it doesn't cost anything. What will go away. In a startup in a deal to move from London to Silicon Valley like the increase in trade you always see when restrictive laws are removed. Come work for us now to appreciate how important it is certainly part of a safe environment, but mediocre programmers is the discrepancy between government receipts as a technology startup takes some amount of damage to the size of a startup, as on a map.
Success here is that they've already decided what they're going to need to run an online service, this would work.
But no planes crash if your school, secretly write your dissertation in the right sort of wealth, not like soccer; you don't know of no Jews moving there, only Jews would move there, and power were concentrated in the imprecise half.
The Civil Service Examinations of Imperial China, many of the art itself gets more random, the increasing complacency of managements.
For example, the laser, it's this internal process in their target market the shoplifters are also startlingly popular on Delicious, but since it was 10 years ago.
In a project like a core going critical.
How could these people make the right not to stuff them with comments. The state of technology, companies that an investor, than a product of number of discrepancies currently blamed on various forbidden isms.
If you did that in practice that doesn't lose our data. Anything that got built this way is basically a replacement mall for mallrats.
Thanks to Mike Arrington, Trevor Blackwell, Robert Morris, Patrick Collison, and Paul Buchheit for sharing their expertise on this topic.

Megamind Modern Cowboy AU (Part 2)
Yah boi dumb European is back - I had to do quite a bit of research for this (and upcoming) chapters but hey, it was worth it. I hope you enjoy.
-------------
Growing up, Lee made a very good cowboy. He could saddle a horse and ride it at fast speeds without worrying about his balance, and he was darn good at lassoing cattle. The only downside, his grandpa had said, was that he couldn’t put on a hat - because his head was far too large. Rodney made jokes about this sometimes, saying that if he could find a hat big enough for its head, the hat would probably be the size of the ranch itself. At least this time, Lee knew the jokes were all in good fun.
All of his excitable energy went into his work. He would be up in the morning, cleaning out the horse stables, and helping tend to the land in the heat of the afternoon. Sometimes he would be delegated the task of fixing the truck or re-shoeing the horses. It was funny, considering he did not consider himself much of a farrier, but he was quite handy when it came to tinkering and repairing things. He also loved the horses and went out of his way to sneak them a few apple slices after herding the cattle for long periods of time.
Although he didn’t wear a hat, Lee most certainly had a large collection of kerchiefs that he wore on a daily basis. If he couldn’t have the hat, he might as well have the rest of the gear to make up for it. On some days, if there was little to no clouds, his skin matched the tone of the clear blue sky, and it seemed in a way, fitting. Years of hard work and effort had made his muscles incredibly toned, though he still had a short and rather skinny frame. He had begun to grow facial hair and often trimmed it so it looked like a rough, but smart stubble. Because the ranch was in such a secluded area, (it was a very small town), all the locals knew him, and never really did a double-take when he came in to have dinner or a drink with his family.
Lee, although very skilled at many traits, had yet to master cooking. Sometimes he’d leave rice in the pan for too long so it stuck to the bottom, or accidentally burning the meat. Usually, Rodney or Minion took over making things like grillades. Baking, however, was his strong suit. From a child to adolescence, he had helped his grandma make an assortment of treats. From pies, pecan to blueberry, cakes, biscuits. The fact that he had an incredibly sweet tooth helped. His dad often complained of him not knowing how to cook ‘proper’ food, but he had Minion, and being able to make something was better than being able to make nothing, in his opinion.
Now, he was an adult and was working every day except Sunday along with his family members to run the ranch. It was incredibly fun and often left you tired enough to get a decent night's sleep - which is something he struggled to do when he wasn’t tired enough.
Despite how content Lee was at the ranch, he still couldn’t shake off those horrible feelings years later. No matter how distracted he was while hammering hot metal into horseshoes, fixing saddles or trucks, a small, irritating voice kept muttering about his ‘destiny’ and how that should have been his priority. Forget those people, what about the two that saved your life? What did they want from you? Accusations and questions and doubt swirled up inside of him and made him sick to his stomach. Was he really going to go and do something as petty as that? It was so many years ago. What would his family think of him? He was aware that Rodney had been in hot water with the law before, but it was nothing compared to this.
His passions and the things that made him happy were being discarded in favor of something far more sinister, which made him feel anxious, given that he really wasn’t like that. Still, he had an awful lot of pent up rage towards those people that he sometimes wished he could act upon. “They started it, after all.” He’d tell himself, “You need to show them that they should have regretted what they said to you.”
It was dumb, but Lee feared that this would get the better of him. It began to circle him more frequently. Cleaning out the stables? Revenge. Repairing equipment? Revenge. Horse riding for fun? Revenge. Whenever he’d try and convince himself it was unnecessary and petty, and that he could have a happier life where he was without getting into trouble with the law, these thoughts dismissed whatever argument he came up with and pushed him to follow his ‘destiny.’ After all, you don’t have a say in what your destiny is, you just have to do it.
His family members had begun to take notice, and his Dad and Uncle Shawn began to grow weary of how familiar his attitude was now to how it had been back in his school days. Lee slowly began to stop smiling so often, or he became so engrossed in his work that he’d drown out anything else, even those who came in for a bit of small talk. Despite focusing so much of his energy on his work, he started losing sleep, his eyes always looked foggy and sullen in the morning, and exhausted at night. He began scribbling ideas for objects of mayhem rather than contraptions of convenience, and sure enough, his sleep schedule quickly spiraled out of control.
Rodney was the first to speak up, even though he was one of the last to be worried. He figured that something had happened and that Lee was just grieving, or bearing the brunt of getting over it. Once a week had passed, he felt that something was wrong.
“Hey cuz, you haven’t been yurself lately, fancy talkin ‘bout it?”
For the first time that week, Lee looked at someone dead in the eyes. He looked tired and incredibly cold. The worry must have shown on Rodney’s face, because he plastered on a bitter smile over his depressed expression, and began to chuckle. Chuckling probably wasn’t the best way to describe it though, as he started to shake, and streams of tears began to flow down his cheeks. His face morphed into one that was deeply angry and broken, and Rodney pulled him into an awkward hug, waiting for him to calm down. Instead, he started hyperventilating and kept choking on his own tears until his exhaustion got the better of him and he passed out. Calling Uncle Boe, they both carried him to his room, and placed him in his bed, leaving a glass of water on the nightstand for when he woke up.
That morning, Lee awoke to everything feeling fuzzy, as the objects in his room that he tried to focus on began to dance in circles around his head. He felt ill, yet he felt nothing. He trudged over to the tank in the corner of his room and placed Minion in his ball. Then, he pulled out a heavy case from beneath his bed and started to stuff his clothes, his books, his… plans. He then proceeded to check the time. It was 4 AM, and nobody would be awake for at least another hour unless he woke somebody up. He used this time to have a shower and get dressed, as well as have breakfast, before shoving the case in the back of one of the trucks outside.
By then, the rest of his family had stirred and were already in the kitchen. He came in Minion’s ball under his arm and announced that he had to leave for something important. He never specified what, as he was sure that if he did they would try to talk him out of it. His family looked concerned, sad, that he was leaving. They couldn’t be sad though, as he knew that deep down, they probably didn’t care. As much as he loved the ranch, his dismal destiny called. So, without a (visible) trace of doubt, he clambered into the van, started the vehicle and began to drive toward Metro City, Michigan.
He tried so very hard, but he couldn’t stop himself from looking back that morning.

Hacked: Part 3
You've got to be the only high-schooler without a phone, but that doesn't bother you (much). You can text on multiple platforms on your computer so as long as you've got Wi-Fi you can connect to the Internet and everything you need.
Your Science class is entirely technology-based so it's not hard to wander off the path and do your own research. You've always been all right at Science, if not pretty good, and it doesn't matter what grades you've got in three months because then it'll all be over.
As Mr. Bradfurd rambles on about tectonic plates or the like, you pull up the email exchange between you and Mrs. Sharpe. The meeting with her had been largely unsuccessful except for a list of people that might want Tony Stark humiliated. Unfortunately, it's mostly a list of his flings. You're still going to meet with them, however, and hope they've got more to go on except 'He lured me to bed and then left the next day!'
Your laptop bings and the class looks at you. You flush and turn the sound off before investigating the source of the sound. Ned had texted you on your Google Voice number.
Ned: Hey
You: Wassup
Ned: I got a lego death star, me and peter r gonna try and build it wanna come over
You grimace at the mention of Peter. He can't stand to be in your presence for more than fifteen minutes normally (lunch was an exception; you had been surprised when he had appeared to be listening to the argument going on between you and Ned) and won't even talk to you. Sometimes he won't even look at you. You can understand hating someone like that—Tony Stark is the man you despise, but that's for a good reason—and you can rack your brains for hours but you just can't figure out why Ned's best friend hates you. You didn't ever do anything wrong to him, but you'll return fire with fire happily.
You: Nah no thanks. Im pretty sure Peters got like a trap set up around his door to keep me out lol
Ned: What are u talking about?
You: Dont play dumb, its no secret he hates me
Ned: Wtf u talking about?
You: U havent noticed?
"Y/n?" Mr. Bradfurd calls, disapproval evident in his voice. You jerk your head up and stare at him, slowly getting redder as the whispers around you get louder. Without looking at the screen, you minimize your texting and go back to the class notes. "Get your head out of the clouds," your Science teacher warns. You just duck your head and seethe.
MJ kicks your foot under the table and shows you her recent sketch of you. Your head is a tomato. "Because you blush so easily," she whispers.
You roll your eyes at her antics. At least the teachers don't call her out on never paying attention. MJ's smart mouth might actually land her in detention rather than just observing and you know that despite her acting like she doesn't care, her parents put a lot of pressure onto her to get good grades.
When you're sure Bradfurd isn't eyeing you anymore, you pull up the tab between you and Ned. He sent a bunch of texts and you can imagine him sending them all with varying degrees of hysteria:
Ned: No I havent
Ned: He doesn't hate you!
Ned: Y/n srsly he doesn't hate you im not lying
Ned: TALK TO ME
Ned: Ru mad at me now?
Ned: Y/N
Ned: Imma text mj if you dont respond
You: Cool ur tits, bradfurd called me out
Ned: Oh good I thought you were mad lol
You: Y would i b?
Ned: Idk man
Ned: So ill take it ur not coming 2nite?
You: Ye, sorry
You: Gotta work
Ned: Ur always working, just like peters always at the Stark Internship
You internally groan at that. You had managed to forget about the other person you know who would be affected by exposing Stark. You may not hate Peter, even though he seems to hate you. Ruining Stark's reputation could potentially ruin Peter's and you don't want to see another person travel down the road of Persons Rejected By Society. You're already halfway to the end.
You: He shouldnt do that; stark's made a lot of mistakes. who knows what could happen to peter if stark gets into trouble?
Ned: lol
Ned: Wait ur serious?
Ned: Wtf y/n its not like stark's done super horrible stuff
You: Just sayin
In fact, you think you could even like Peter if he didn't hate you. He's certainly attractive, with curly brown hair and melted-chocolate eyes, but you wouldn't settle for someone who can't even stand you. If he could learn to be less of a jerk, certainly, especially considering the only guys you ever talk to is Ned and Peter by association.
The bell rings, signaling the end of the school day, and you rush to your locker with the hopes of no one intercepting you. You'd managed your whole week without seeing Lindsey but today it would appear your luck has run out because she's waiting by your locker with a frown on her face and hands on her hips.
"Y/n," she grunts. You quirk an eyebrow at her and wait for her to move. When she finally pushes off the wall, it's with a snort and roll of her eyes. The two of you aren't especially fond of each other but the time you'd spent as teammates on the lacrosse team had eased the loathing to general dislike. "You haven't been to practice in two weeks."
"I am aware," you say curtly, twisting your lock around and then jamming your shoulder into the door to pop it open. She lets out a huff again as it becomes obvious you're not going to speed the conversation along.
"If you're still on the team, you've got to run about fifteen miles if you were to go to practice tonight," Lindsey informs you, sounding infinitely smug about the fact. She knows you can run, just not fifteen whole fucking miles.
"Oh, and I'm sure the coaches won't accept the fact that I'm working three jobs and my mom is dying of cancer as a reasonable excuse, right?" you snap, sweeping your books into your backpack quickly. "We both know I won't be running fifteen miles if I go to practice tonight. Maybe one extra. Maybe."
"With this level of disrespect to a team captain and your unavailability, we might as well just cut you now," Lindsey says with disgust, looking down her nose at you as your shoulder your backpack and curse your height when you have to crane your neck to look her in the eyes. It's the platform shoes she's always wearing, dammit.
"Coach Trisha's the one who decides who gets cut and who doesn't," you say smoothly. You're not worried about your place on the team—or you wouldn't be, if you hadn't been missing two weeks' worth of practices. You haven't been playing lacrosse very long but you're one of the better players on the team. If you could make it to practices and games that would be great.
"Captain's input is also vital," she snarls.
You narrow your eyes at her and tilt your head. The two of you both know that you could have been one of the captains based on skill alone, but you hadn't wanted to be the center of attention and you're not popular enough with the team to have managed that. That's part of the reason Lindsey enjoys putting you down—she loves to keep reminding you who has the power.
Lindsey's eyes twitch to the wall and then back to you. "Practice is at 6 tonight. If you can."

Diagnosing Depression in People with Autism: A Guest Blog Post from SPARK - Part 1
Tumblr media
SPARK is the largest autism study ever in the US – over 100k families – with a goal of speeding up research and advancing our understanding of autism to help improve the lives of all affected.  Celebrating its 5th Anniversary, SPARK is committed to finding the causes and treatments of ASD. https://sparkforautism.org/5years/
This article discusses topics that may be upsetting to some people. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline provides free, confidential support 24/7 at 1-800-273-8255 and by online chat.
As a young child with autism, Ben had trouble putting his feelings into words, except when he was angry. During one outburst, he told his mother he didn’t want to live. Although she took him to mental health providers, they focused on treating him for anxiety, rather than depression.
Ben is now 20. The pandemic turned his world upside down to the point where he attempted suicide. It was only at this point that Ben finally received a formal diagnosis of and treatment for major depression.
He is not alone. People who have autism are four times more likely to experience depression during their lifetime than the general population, according to a 2019 analysis of many studies. In fact, about 40 percent of autistic adults, and 8 percent of youth, have had depression.1
Adults on the autism spectrum were five times more likely to attempt suicide than the general population, according to research from Kaiser Permanente Northern California. And, where the numbers are truly telling, almost half of those people who tried to take their lives had not been diagnosed with depression before their attempt.2
Depression is one of the more serious conditions often found in people who have autism. Unfortunately, it is also often misunderstood or even missed by families, caregivers, or doctors.
Is it Depression or Autism?
The symptoms of depression may be harder to recognize in people on the spectrum. Sometimes that’s because “high-profile problems,” such as aggression and self-injury, draw doctors’ attention away from depression and anxiety, according to some researchers.3
Other times, the signs of depression may be mistaken for autism itself. Although depression and autism are very different, some symptoms may be found in both conditions, explains Rowan University autism and depression research psychologist Katherine Gotham, Ph.D.
These overlapping traits include lack of interest in socializing, sleep problems, trouble concentrating, and having an emotionless facial expression and monotone voice.4-6   And sometimes, symptoms of depression may differ from textbook examples. Rather than looking tired and sad, a depressed person who has autism may be irritable or agitated, or have emotional outbursts, according to research.3,5,7
Unfortunately, there are no lab tests or scans for depression. Doctors typically rely on a patient’s ability to describe his feelings. That’s a heavy burden for people whose autism impairs their ability to communicate through words, facial expressions, and body language.
Children and teens may not be able to label their feelings as guilt or worthlessness, some of the words doctors are looking for when considering depression.7 Even adults who speak fluently may struggle to identify their moods or emotions, a condition called alexithymia.8
The Lens of Depression
If we look at Ben through the lens of depression, a nuanced story will emerge.  When he said that he did not want to live – a warning sign – a psychologist did not think he was seriously depressed. The reason? Ben also reported that he needed to meet some fellow students to finish a project. Because of this additional information, “they said he does not fit the profile of someone who’s depressed.”
But what if his desire to follow rules, a common trait of autism, or his perfectionism could also explain his concern about the project?  Unfortunately, because Ben earned good grades, health care providers seemed to overlook his depressed feelings. The good news is that researchers are exploring ways to improve doctors’ ability to diagnose depression in those with autism.
When Should You Suspect Depression in Someone with Autism?
Doctors and researchers agree that it is important to look for changes in someone’s sleep and eating habits, in their interests, and their irritability or agitation levels. This is crucial, particularly if the person cannot describe their feelings. Doctors may rely on information from relatives or others about such changes when evaluating someone with autism.
“I think initially we were hypothesizing that depression might really look different in people with autism,” Gotham says. “What we have found so far is that depression looks different in some people with autism. But it looks a lot like the depression that we know, in a lot of people on the spectrum.
Depression Risks from Childhood through Adulthood
Who is more likely to experience depression? According to research, risks include:
A family history of depression or bipolar disorder, which may have existed before a parent had a child with a disability 5,10
Experiencing trauma, including bullying 11,12
Being verbal and having at least average intelligence 10,13-16
In children and teens, having anxiety or another psychiatric condition10
Being older.
One’s risk for depression rises as they move from childhood to adulthood, whether they have autism or not, Gotham says. “At each stage of life – childhood, adolescence, and adulthood – people on the autism spectrum appear to be at a greater risk for depression compared to the general population,” she says.
One stage, the transition to adulthood, poses a particular challenge for people who have autism, with stresses that may increase the risk of depression, says Dr. Robert Wisner-Carlson, Robert Wisner-Carlson, chief of the Autism and Neurodevelopmental Outpatient Program at Sheppard Pratt, a mental and behavioral health system in Maryland.
Students with autism often receive an array of services through their public schools. But when they graduate, usually between ages 18 and 21, they lose school services, such as speech therapy, social skills instruction, and psychological help. They may not qualify for help under the adult disability system.  Even if they do qualify, they may have to wait a long time to receive services. The sudden loss of services “can be a huge jolt,” says Wisner-Carlson, like “falling off a cliff.”
Other factors can influence risk. Families of people who have autism seem more likely to have a history of depression and bipolar disorder, Wisner-Carlson says. “The genetic studies of psychiatric illness and autism show a lot of genetic markers that overlap.” And other factors play a part, too. Research shows that children who have autism are bullied at a higher rate than other children.17 Bullying is linked to depression in typically-developing teenagers, and one study found psychiatric effects from bullying into adulthood.18,19
Some aspects of autism itself may add to depression. For example, rumination – repeatedly thinking about things that upset you – is a risk factor for depression in the general population. People with autism have repetitive motions and obsessive interests, which may be related to rumination.20,21 Another study found a link between depression and the planning and organizational problems often experienced by people who have autism.22
The risk for depression is not spread evenly across the spectrum however. People who are verbal and don’t have an intellectual disability are more likely to be diagnosed with depression.
Some wonder if depression appears to be more common in verbal people because it’s easier to diagnose and research them. “How do you identify trauma or depression in someone who’s nonspeaking or has very low communication skills?” asks social worker Dena Gassner, an autistic member of the SPARK Community Advisory Council. But, she warns, “The illusion is thinking those are the only people we’re struggling to identify.” Even verbal people may escape diagnosis, she says.
Clearly there is still a lot that needs to be learned about properly diagnosing depression in those with autism.
