The wind howled like a banshee outside, whipping snowflakes against Bucky's face as he trudged up the porch steps. His shoulders hunched, mirroring the weight of the world on his weary soul. All he craved was a hot meal, a warm bed, and the sweet oblivion of sleep.

As he fumbled with his keys, the door swung open, revealing Y/N in a festive apron, a mischievous grin splitting her face. Like a siren song, the aroma of cinnamon and gingerbread cookies lured him inside.

"Merry Christmas, my hero!" she chimed, holding out a small, suspiciously lopsided box. "Early Christmas gift for the soldier who finally decided to grace us with his presence."

Bucky raised an eyebrow, the corner of his lips twitching. "Early Christmas, huh? Didn't know the holiday came early for soldiers who can't tell a gingerbread man from a landmine."

Y/N gasped, mocking, clutching her pearls. "How dare you insult my culinary prowess! These cookies are works of art, even if they do resemble abstract reindeer."

Bucky chuckled, his exhaustion momentarily forgotten. He took the box, his fingers tracing the uneven wrapping job. Inside, nestled on a bed of red tissue paper, lay a pair of baby shoes knitted in the brightest blue yarn he'd ever seen. They looked like they were crafted by a squirrel with a crochet addiction.

Silence descended, broken only by the crackling fire. Then, Bucky's face broke into a grin that could rival the sun. He swept Y/N up in his arms, twirling her around until they were both dizzy and laughing.

"Are you trying to tell me something?" he teased, his voice filled with disbelief and pure joy.

Y/N grinned, her eyes sparkling like fairy lights. "Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. Maybe I just really like tiny shoes."

Bucky stared at her, a slow smile spreading across his face. He felt a warmth bloom in his chest, a feeling unlike anything he'd ever known. He was going to be a father. A wave of protectiveness washed over him, so fierce and new it took his breath away.

He held Y/N close, his metal arm gently cradling her growing belly. The warmth of the fireplace, the aroma of questionable cookies, the sound of her laughter – it all felt like coming home.

"This is the best Christmas present I could ever ask for," Bucky whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "Even if the shoes look like a toddler yeti made them."

Y/N swatted him playfully. "Hey! I put a lot of effort into those abominations. And besides, who says our child can't have a unique fashion sense?"

Bucky chuckled, a true, heartfelt laugh that echoed through the room. "Of course, my love. If they want to wear mismatched socks and walk around like a tiny yeti, who am I to argue?"

The rest of the evening was a whirlwind of laughter, carols, and questionable hot cocoa that tasted suspiciously like gingerbread and burnt sugar. Bucky held the tiny baby shoes in his palm, staring at them with a reverence he didn't know he possessed.

He imagined the little feet that would fill them, the first steps, the first words. He imagined a future filled with bedtime stories, epic pillow fights, and late-night talks about everything and nothing.

As they drifted off to sleep that night, nestled together under a mountain of mismatched blankets, Bucky knew this was only the beginning of their greatest adventure.

The world outside might be cold and chaotic, but inside their little apartment, it was warm, safe, and with the promise of a future filled with love, laughter, and the occasional sartorial disaster.

As Bucky held Y/N close and felt the tiny life growing within her, he knew he would spend the rest of his life protecting them with all his heart and a healthy dose of humor. After all, a little laughter goes a long way, significantly when raising a future child together.

We just got to Austria today. I wish you could see how gorgeous it is - the mountains would be absolutely perfect for one of our weekend hikes! I've been thinking about those a lot lately. I miss having adventures with you before I left. I'd give just about anything to have another picnic by the lake with you. Those are my favorite moments to think about - just you and me, relaxing in the sun, talking about anything and everything. I'll never forget the day we had the whole picnic set up, you were in a beautiful blue dress, and out of nowhere the heavens opened up! The rain poured, but all we did was laugh and run underneath a nearby tree. That kiss we shared in the rain that day was one of the happiest moments of my life.

I saw something else that reminded me of you yesterday. Talbert’s dog Trigger got a cut on his foot, so Tab was patching it up. All I could think of was you and how gentle you are with the animals you care for. I will always be in awe of how good you are with animals and how you're able to keep them calm while caring for them.

I swear thinking about you is the only thing getting me through this war. Whenever I feel alone, I just remember how it feels to be in your arms at the end of the day, you make all the stress and pain melt away. You are my safe space, you are my home. I can't wait to be home with you. I can't wait to dance to the radio with you while we make dinner. I can't wait to drink our coffee together on quiet mornings. I am going to come home to you as soon as I can, darling. I promise.

Christmas Eve

Miles carried a very heavily sleeping Benny upstairs, the rest of the nieces and nephews having gone to bed after the nine millionth rerun of The Grinch cartoon and after the grown-ups had all cleaned up the dishes from dinner. Outside it was snowing heavily, but in your home, the white lights from the Christmas tree and all the decorations, the crackling and snapping of the logs in the fire and the lingering smell of the prime rib roast having slow cooked in the oven, made it all worthwhile and cozier than it ever had been.

"Dada?" Benny chirped, waking suddenly.

"Go back to sleep Benny bear," Miles hushed, patting the two year old's back.

Miles carefully placed him in his bed and tucked Benny in under the wool blankets and the duvet that made it more like a weighted blanket than anything else. He tucked Benny's puppy in beside him before heading down the hall to your shared room where you were tucking Baby Jesse in for the night.

"There we go lovebug," you cooed, covering him with the checked flannel Christmas blanket. You tucked in his little teddy bear beside him before carefully putting his little blue knit cap on his head. He was so little and precious, only two weeks old, but so sweet and quiet, barely ever fussing unless he was hungry.

"Merry Christmas Jesse," Miles murmured, pressing a soft kiss to his little cheek and gently scratching his belly.

You and Miles turned out the lights and climbed into bed, the both of you warm and a little worn out from the evening's events. All of your family and friends had descended en-masse to the ranch and dinner had been no less than eventful. A group of St. Lucia carolers had come from town, all in red and white with the candle wreaths around their heads, singing and bringing baskets of Lusskatter, the sweet cinnamon rolls that the owner of your favorite general store made in her cafe every year. You, Miles and the rest of the family had been no less generous, sending them on their way with fresh loaves of bread, soft and cakey gingerbread cookies and little cannisters of hot mulled drinks to keep out the frigid Montana winter.

"You have a good night handsome?" you whispered, gently caressing his face.

"Hmmmm, wish it didn't have to be once a year," Miles mumbled.

You had wished it many times yourself. Those army years had been tough despite Miles being able to get leave every year at Christmas. Yet despite the hardship, you had gotten through it. It was a long, hard slug, but with the loving support of his parents and each other, you both got through it and had come out better than most others would have, believing in each other to the fullest.

You wanted to cry when you saw the sleepy, loving smile on your husband's face. It stirred something so wishful and so dreamlike in your soul that it could have only come about this time of year. "I love you my sweet," he purred, gently kissing your lips.

"I love you too Miles," you whispered as he pulled you in closer.

"Better get some sleep," he yawned. "Benny will probably be up at the crack of ass and will wanna pounce on us as soon as he sees what's under the tree."

You laughed a little, not minding in the least. Your boys were your boys no matter what. Let them enjoy Christmas.....you two had always said.

You and Miles were so deep in sleep, you didn't even notice two-year old Benny waking up and waddling his way to the stairs, peeking through the rails and gasping at the sight of all the gifts piled under the tree.

"Mommy! Daddy!!" he chirped. "Mommy! Daddy!!! Wake up! Wake up!! Santa came!"

Miles let out an obscene groan as Benny pounced on him, rolling between the two of you as you awoke, a little groggy from sleep, but happy nonetheless.

"Go get Mimi and Papa, Benny," Miles told him.

Benny jumped right off the bed and waddle-ran right down the hall to wake Otis and Kathy. But he didn't just wake Miles's parents. Benny, in his fervor, had begun waking all the aunts, uncles, cousins and anybody else who just so happened to be in the Miller household. Miles stumbled out of bed before you, sticking his feet in his warm slippers and throwing his dark blue robe on over his pale blue button-down pjs before handing you your silk one to throw over your nightgown. You gathered up Jesse and followed your husband into the hall before you were met by his mother and father.

"Boy, I hate to tell you this" Otis chuckled, running a hand through his dark blond hair that had now gone completely grey. "But your son's an EF-5 tornado in a kid's body."

"Oh ha-ha, very funny dad," Miles said with a sarcastic chuckle. "But didn't you at one point say the same thing about me?"

"Touche," Otis laughed. "You were after all, Benny's age when you dove into your gram's rosebush and came out with a pet skunk."

"And the feral cat we tamed," Miles laughed.

It wasn't long at all before all of the nieces and nephews and children from family friends all came rushing downstairs in their pjs. The excitement in the air was infectious, even as Kathy and Otis's little sisters went to go and put the egg casserole and the cinnamon rolls in the oven for breakfast while the coffee maker in the kitchen brewed away.

Everyone dove right into their gifts, taking picture after picture to capture the memories that were unfolding in the living room. Benny was so excited when he had gotten two pairs of mittens from you and Kathy, both knitted with all the love in the world you could possibly give.

"Papa lookit!" Benny proudly declared, showing Otis his new mittens. "I have gubs!"

Otis and Miles both busted out laughing and so didn't the others. You and Miles were so happy to see Benny and his cousins all playing with their new toys or reading their new books that you hadn't noticed a smaller gift on the dining room table.

Miles's aunt, Sarah, took Jesse off your hands for just a little while so the two of you could see what it was and who had left it. It was a little silver box wrapped with a red silk ribbon, sitting right next to the plate that had held the gingerbread cookies Benny had left for Santa. Oddly enough, nobody in the house had even touched the milk and cookies that had been left, or the bag of oats that Benny had left as well. But now the plate and glass were empty and the bag of oats gone as well.

"You didn't......?"

You shook your head.

"Dad, did you....?"

"I didn't touch any of it," Otis said. "I was way too full from dinner to even think about it."

Miles's eyes turned to the note underneath the cookie plate. He unfolded it, revealing the neat, swirling handwriting within.

I gave this to your father when he was in the hospital after Guadalcanal and a few to the soldiers who were his roommates there. It took alot of fixing by some friends of ours and even the Missus. But it deserves to come back to your family. I'll see all of you again next year, take care and a very Merry Christmas to your family.

Miles opened up the little box and saw a little silver bell with a red ribbon tied around it. It looked like an old sleigh bell, one that would have been on the reins of the horses in France or Germany. Miles shook it a little and to his amazement, he could hear it ringing.

"You hear that too, right (y/n)?" he asked, his eyes wide with amazement.

You listened but it took you a minute to be able to hear it and Otis too. Even Kathy could hear it and for Benny it was the clearest. Yet when others listened, none of them could hear it except for the children.

You and Miles exchanged secretive but happy smiles, knowing that you two, your children and Miles's parents were the ones who could hear it. You hung the little bell right on the tree before Kathy called everyone in for breakfast while you and Miles couldn't stop looking at the little bell, noticing one little word etched into the silver in that perfect cursive that matched the letter........BELIEVE.

Don’t worry guys, Steve and Eddie are sitting by the fireplace right now with a cup of hot chocolate in their hands and they’re talking about how best gift that they’ve gotten this year was each other. Early that morning they open the gifts that were under the Christmas tree and the biggest smiles appeared on their faces. Later on the group got together to exchange gifts for the secret Santa that all of them planned for a few months ago. Steve and Eddie visit Wayne for a nice Christmas meal that involves some alcohol making them a little bit drunk. Steve starts to ramble about how Eddie made the first move and he teased him for months about being a lover boy which Wayne got a kick out of because he never expected his nephew to be in love with anyone, he was just glad that Steve was the person he picked. Eddie had to suffer through the embarrassment of Steve and Wayne teasing majority of the time but he was happy that both of them were able to get along and enjoy each other’s company. For the rest of the evening Steve and Eddie cuddled under a big blanket as they watched every Christmas movie that they could think of. Steve takes Eddie’s hand into his own then gave it a squeeze. Eddie looks over at Steve and gives him a kiss, Steve lays his head on Eddie’s shoulder then falls asleep during the movie. It doesn’t take Eddie long to do the same thing. Both of them enjoyed their Christmas together and they wouldn’t want to spend it any other way.

december 24. it was finally christmas eve, and felix couldn't wait for christmas to come for three reasons:

one, his family flew over a few days ago just to spend the holiday with him. two, once the group's schedule for the day is over, he'll get about 2 weeks to rest. and three, he looks forward to spending it with you (and with his members before they leave for the holiday to see their own family).

"oh, it's finally over!" felix's mom exclaimed in delight, clapping her hands happily in the process. you smiled at how cute she looked.

you were already waiting with his family at the hotel they were staying at, watching gayo daejeon together on the tv in their room. the place was also pretty convenient since the restaurant where they were able to book a private room was just a couple of floors down.

"eonni, your boyfriend's calling~" his younger sister said, handing you your phone from the coffee table. felix called you up to let you know that they are getting ready to leave and will be at the restaurant in 30 minutes.

"that's great. we should get ready as well," his dad said. "i'll call the restaurant to let them know we're coming down in a few."

it was actually the first time you have met felix's family in person, but they were just as nice and welcoming as he was. it was clear to you then that felix really grew up in such a wonderful family.

everybody was getting ready to leave when his mom rushed to your side and gently turned you around to face her.

"dear, put some of this on," you stood there as she quickly dabbed some lipstick on your lips.

"there you go!" she smiled in content. "this shade looks so good on you!" she was practically squealing at how nicely the shade complimented your overall look.

"thank you, mrs. lee" you gave her a shy smile before leaving the room with her.

you were now at the restaurant, laughing and having a good time with felix's family as they shared some of their favorite moments with him during childhood when the door to the room slid open.

all 5 of you whipped your heads to see felix by the door, smiling your guys' way as he gestured for the rest of the members to come inside first.

after all the greetings were said, felix finally sat down beside you, smiling so widely after giving you a brief hug. you were seated between him and his older sister, with the other members seated on the other side of the table.

"you look extra beautiful today, babe" he complimented. you looked at felix with a shy smile.

"o-oh, really? thank you," you replied. "your mom actually helped me put on some lipstick, so that's probab---"

you paused when you noticed how felix was just staring at you with a big smile plastered on his face.

"is... everything... alright...?" you quietly asked, worried that there might be something stuck on your teeth or something that he found funny.

felix let out a light chuckle before taking your hand and kissing the back of it, still keeping his eyes on you.

"yeah, it's just that you look so beautiful tonight."

after hearing that (plus the gesture felix just made), you couldn't hide the blush that was showing on your face anymore and turned your face away from him.

this time, felix let out a laugh at how cute you looked, finally catching the attention of everybody else in the room.

"what's going on?" felix's dad asked. he turned to look at his dad, still smiling.

"nothing," he answered. "my girlfriend's just really adorable right now."

bang chan let out a giggle before looking at the other guys beside him.

"get your fingers ready coz things are going to get cringey real soon," he teased. the room was then filled with laughter and some more light-hearted teasing.

"babe," felix called. "ahh~" he said as he raised a fork in your mouth in an attempt to feed you with a small piece of meat.

you looked between him and the fork in his hand. you were about to open your mouth to take the food when you heard the other guys teasing you and felix again.

"ahh~" bang chan, changbin, and hyunjin said in unison while lee know, han, seungmin and i.n. tried to suppress their laughter.

felix turned his head to them and stuck out his tongue playfully. his family could only shake their heads and laugh at the silliness of the group.

unfortunately for you, felix seemed to enjoy seeing you all flustered and shy. and of course, the more he did it, the more his members would playfully tease the two of you. although felix didn't mind it at all, you were feeling so shy to the point that you just wanted to curl up into a ball.

you were peacefully eating a cream puff, quietly listening to the conversation going around, when felix called your attention. you turned your head to face him, waiting for him to say something.

"you really make me want to take care of you more," he sighed quietly.

you weren't sure what he meant by that until you felt his thumb swipe gently on the side of your lips, realizing that he just wiped some cream off.

you were about to thank him for it but was left speechless and embarrassed when you saw him licking the cream off of his thumb and gave you a playful wink.

"OH MY EYES!!!"

you heard hyunjin scream as he dramatically covered his eyes and slowly slid off of his chair, 'collapsing'. the other guys have started playfully pretending to gag, with some of them curling up their fingers from cringing so bad. even his sisters have started joining in their antics.

"i can feel the chicken i ate come to life," lee know said as he put a hand on his belly, feigning the horror in his eyes.

felix and his parents were just laughing wholeheartedly from the chaotic antics of the guys, while you laughed awkwardly in embarrassment.

he was still laughing at the guys when he turned to look you. he gave you a soft smile before asking you if you were feeling alright.

"yeah, but just a bit embarrassed," you quietly admitted.

you have known the rest of stray kids for a while now, and although you were already used to their playful teasing (especially about your relationship with felix), there are still times that you just couldn't think of an equally playful comeback and just end up blushing furiously — tonight was the perfect example.

the guys have now (slightly) calmed down from cringing and have started talking amongst themselves (still about what happened) when felix cupped your cheeks gently.

"i love you," he suddenly said as he looked deeply into your eyes with a soft smile.

despite feeling a bit embarrassed from all the playful teasing from the guys, you still couldn't stop the growing smile on your face.

you looked straight into his eyes before leaning in to give him a quick peck on the lips, not caring anymore if somebody saw it.

"i know, and i love you, too." you quietly said with a shy smile on your face. felix grinned sheepishly right after.

and just as expected, another round of playful teasing from the rest of stray kids ensued, with seungmin jokingly commenting, 'for the sake of our mental health, just please get a room!'

I have changed my depression medication, so I hope this will help my energy level improve. I HATE feeling so exhausted all the time. 💔😭

Merry Christmas Eve! 🎅

How have you been? Are you with family? I'm with my in-laws still today, and then we are heading to my family later tonight to spend actual Christmas there.

To answer all of the questions I asked, let's start from the top.

Favorite Holiday for years was the fourth of July because to me it was like Christmas (without gifts) where you get to spend all day with your family, but the weather is actually nice and usually we would go boating.

I am a cat person! I have a cat and I love him so much, he is just a giant goofball.

Baileys in coffee is good! I am a wine fan, so if I want a cocktail, I like getting a sangria.

Also rep fan!! Rep is number 1! Did you get to go to the tour?

I eat popcorn all the time, it's easy and filling.

My favorite subject was probably anatomy. I just was a really big science girl.

I've enjoyed being your secret Santa these last few weeks 😀! I had a great time getting to know you.

The very first thing I did when I woke up this morning was read all the messages people left for me on my tree.

You have no idea how excited and desperate I was to read them all; I was like a kid in a sweet’s shop! I was pleasantly surprised to find a good number of beautiful ornaments adorning its luscious green leaves. I was reading every single message with a big grin on my face. My cheeks were aching by the end, but I didn’t care. I was just stupidly happy the whole morning, and I’m still stupidly happy now! 😁

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who decorated my tree with lovely messages. You’re all lovely people. I love love LOVE you all! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Elle, because you have been down lately I wanted to give you something that I think is really special. I started doing this for my nephews when they were born and after you and Teddy were born, I asked your parents and the Evans parents if I could do it for the two of you. Every year since you were born, I’ve taken candid pictures of you and Teddy during really sweet or happy moments. Most of the pictures are of you two laughing or being silly together with the biggest smiles on your faces. After each picture, I would print them out and write what had happened in that moment on the back. They’re all compiled in a book for you to look through. From when you two were babies all the way up until when you two came over for the twin’s birthday in Sept. I was going to give it to you for your 25th birthday but I think this Christmas would be the perfect time. Looking at all these pictures you can see the special bond you and Teddy have and how much you adore one another. I know it’s tough to find our confidence sometimes and our annoying brain can make us question things we shouldn’t be but hopefully in those moments you can look through this photo book and it will remind you that you two are meant to be and no one is going to change that. omg this has been in my inbox for days... i’m so sorry dear, i was saving it for later and then i completely forgot about it!!!! but that’s sooo sweet and i truly appreciate it, thank you sm 🥺💜💜 luckily it was just a scare, we’re kinda used to it bc my brother has been sick since last year (i don’t really wanna talk about it, it involves the c-word) although there’re better days and reeeally worse days, so you never know for sure. but he’s currently stable! so i hope we have a good start of the year at least. owww but i’m so happy for you and that you’re enjoying them in good company and lots of food, which i agree it’s def the best part lmao so don’t worry at all!!!

well not much actually, i celebrate them with my parents and my brother bc the rest of family lives far away and my partner is also away, so we have the typical feast with music and decorations. same for new years. and about the food… my mother makes several types of fish and a babka cake that is typical of poland for xmas and sometimes choinki, which are like xmas tree shaped cookies!! basically sweets is what i enjoy the most bc my mum is really good a bakery sksksks so that and vine, ofc. but what about you??? merry belated xmas btw and a really happy new year too!!!! 💜🥰🎄🎄
