still thinking about how Eight doesn't want to run into other Echani in the wild because he's afraid they'll see right through him and know the kind of man he is at first glance (an honorless killer) and the knowledge that he no longer fits even in his own culture's society would be too harsh a blow to bear, but unbeknownst to him it'd probably just make him more attractive in their eyes lolol

I need to know, was it on purpose or poetic world building. For “the knowledge that Eight no longer fits even in his own culture’s society would be too harsh a blow to bear,” and, wow. “(You’d) imagine echani are also drawn to other social species if they can't find a battleworthy mate”. Isn’t Eight Darth Jadus’ Bride? Who’s said to be second to Emperor? Sure we don’t know if Darth Jadus can thrown a punch, but he isn’t weak. Funny how this is the trait Eight seems to have. If this makes sense?
I guess it was both! Eight was already designed in mind with how neither he nor Jadus fit into their respective societies and became outcasts because of their own developmental natures and ambitions. so that's why their relationship became so strong due to Eight noticing that trait in both of them and being able to reach out to Jadus because of that connection--but now that you point that out, it may have been unintentional worldbuilding on my part for Eight to be drawn to Jadus' strength- which he was attracted to in the beginning but not for those exact reasons as he wanted his authority to protect Intelligence.
That is poetic that it circled back in the end to something inherent to being Echani that unconsciously lay in the back of Eight's mind, which I really like btw, because he's supposed to find his equal in battle, not a phantom dark lord who can hold a dreadnaught together using only his mind. XD But that's just the unexpected part in realizing strength comes in vastly different forms, and Jadus too recognized that not all strength comes from the Force. In other words, they really are made for each other.
