Important win - Jude Bellingham
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jude Bellingham x female reader, little bit of platonic!Karim Adeyemi x female reader and a tiny bit of platonic!Nico Schlotterbeck x female reader
Warnings: fluff, hints of stealing someones man (nothing serious at all), little bit of worried reader
Word Count: 852 (sorry not a very long one)
Note: As always, my first language is not English. I thought it would be fun to show how the reader is friends with some of the teammates as well! This is purely fiction, I don't know any of the boys. Please do not copy or publish my work, reblobbing is perfectly fine! If I missed anything in the warnings or elsewhere, please let me know!
To say that the win against Red Bull Leipzig is important, is a big understatement. Leipzig has an incredible team and they can definitely put up a fight. So there were a lot of nerves before the game. But luckily her boyfriend’s team pulled through. There was that chance from Nkunku in the first half that almost stopped her heart. Jude gave an amazing pass for Julian to score, which he did but it was ruled a handball. She hadn’t been that disappointed in a while.
The penalty from Marco really lifted everyone’s spirits and then the hard kick from Emre really sealed the deal. But the chance from Werner near the end, where Nico managed to save it with his shoulder. She went crazy celebrating that save. She bursted out laughing when Karim, who was standing next to her, was flabbergasted by the amount of extra time. The ‘FÜNF?!’ wouldn’t leave her mind soon and she definitely wouldn’t let her friend live that down. He had pushed her shoulder because she laughed so hard, which only made it worse. And after the last whistle was blown, she jumped up clapping for joy.
Now she is watching her boyfriend, her friends and his teammates celebrating that important win. All of the 10 games of 2023 they’ve won so far, an incredible streak and she was very proud. Especially after all the pressure that’s been on Jude’s shoulders the past few months. With all the transfer rumours and the ones that are still in play, but also his knee that has to be taped up for every match now. To say she worries about him quite a lot, is putting it lightly. Of course they talk about everything, communication is 100% key in their relationship, but the worries stay in place. Right now she just accepts that this is the way she’s gonna feel every time something is happening in Jude’s career.
She smiles as the boys start to jump in front of the yellow wall, knowing what will follow right after. They soon enough start jumping up against each other, Karim walking back a bit to avoid them all. After all the times they’ve launched him and with his injury, she totally understands. He does end up joining them again, but when everything has calmed down a little. In the meantime she watches Jude have fun and even holds her breath a little when he jumps at Niklas who decides to avoid him for the fun of it. Jude stumbles forward a little, she only relaxes when she sees the smile on his face. He looks her in the eyes straight after, knowing she needs his reassurance even for something as small as that stumble.
He then proceeds to dance with the kids of his teammates. She loves the way he always includes the kids, no matter what. He loves kids and he shows it in a lot of ways. When the celebration dies down a little, he’s standing next to Karim whilst they all hold hands. Karim presses a kiss to the back of Jude’s hand, whilst Jude returns the favour right after. She can’t help but to comment on it.
“Hey Karim, stop stealing my boyfriend. You’re the second one that’s trying to steal him. Nico already tried as well.”
The boys burst out laughing when they heard her yell at them. Karim turns her way holding up his hand and mockingly making talk motions with it. She gasps in outrage whilst Jude looks like he’s gonna collapse, laughing as hard as he does. She flips Karim off, who blows her a kiss. Nico also looks her way, also having heard her comments.
“We can’t help it. Your boyfriend is just so lovable. Karim and I are best friends, of course we would love the same teammate the most.”
Nico sends her a wink with his comments before focussing on Mats as he walks over. She rolls her eyes at Nico’s comments. Jude walks her way, stopping right under where she’s standing. He gives her a lazy smile, whilst she sends him a small glare. There is no real venom in her glare and her heart is melting at the lazy smile he sends her, but she doesn’t let it show (all that much).
“You really want to cheat on me with your teammates Jude? That’s rude, you know.”
“Naaah baby, you know there is only you. I love them but they’ll never compare to you.”
He loves the way her mock glare fades and the red shows up on her cheeks after his comments. Oh, how he wants to hug her right now and kiss those rosy cheeks of hers. She puts her hands on her cheeks as though she hears his thoughts and is trying to hide them. His smile widens and now takes over half of his face. She can’t help but smile back just as big.
“I love you.”
Jude doesn’t think he’ll ever tire of hearing her say that to him.
“I love you too. Thank you for being here baby. Always means a lot.”

Hottest players of Euro 2024: Group A and B
1. Germany: Emre Can
Tumblr media
Okay, bro looks like my next mistake. If he wasn't a footballer, he'd be a pop musician. And I don't mean your shitty American pop. He would be like Tarkan for the Germans.
2. Switzerland: Granit Xhaka
Tumblr media
Okay, this one is obvious. I had to choose his earrings era photo, they really complimented his unemployed Balkan boy swag. He is my ex-boyfriend who stole my wifebeater and my golden chain from me. He listens to the most cringe rap imaginable. He drives a BMW. He will ruin your life.
3. Hungary: Dominik Szoboszlai
Tumblr media
Another obvious choice. Look at his pouty lips, massive brown eyes and hairy legs. He is sexy and he knows it. He will thirst trap the camera whenever it focuses on him. He is a whore. He is a gay pornstar. It's a wonder he isn't banned by the Hungarian constitution.
4. Scotland: Kieran Tierney
Tumblr media
I didn't really know who to choose. In all honesty, I know very little about this national team. But he seems neat.
5. Spain: Pedri
Tumblr media
Sorry for being baaaaasic. To be honest, I don't really find Spain NT that attractive. If I have to choose one, it's gonna be Pedri. I love how flushed his cheeks become after playing for a while.
6. Italy: Giacomo Raspadori.
Tumblr media
It was a difficult choice, because most of Italian players are insanely hot. But I let the Napoli fan within me win. Look at his golden eyes and Bambi eyelashes. He deserves a special mention here.
(alternative choices included Di Lorenzo, Meret, Scamacca, Calafiori, Fagioli and Pellegrini)
7. Croatia: Luka Modrić
Tumblr media
I don't think I will surprise anyone here. Yes, I love Luka Modrić. I chose this pic of him to tell you what I'd love to do with him. It doesn’t do justice to the full scale of beauty, but we all know how Modrić looks like. Like an angel. Like an 80s mangaka's wet dream. Even as a grandpa with weird facial hair, he still has that flair to him.
8. Albania: Jasir Asani
Tumblr media
Okay, I actually fell for him during qualifiers for one and one reason only. I won't lie to you. I mean, he is a pretty guy, but...
Tumblr media
Size kink 😭

'One must learn to love."
[Nietzsche: The Gay Science, On the Genius of the Heart, Book III, sec. 334]
Tumblr media
'Since I have known the fire and water of love, I am like glowing water in the fire of my heart. Like the lute, I have prepared my heart until the sound of the wound of my love was composed.'
[al-Din Rumi, also known as Maulana/Mevlana]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
'Yunus Emre and his poems have been alive in people's hearts and on their trains for more than seven hundred years. Even in villages in Anatolia, I have met people reciting Yunus Emre's songs as they have been passed on from ear to ear, from generation to generation. In Australia, I have heard Yunus Emre songs sung by a Pakistani who does not know Turkish, and I have learnt that Yunus Emre verses are sung in Albania and the Balkan countries. Is there anyone in Turkey who does not love Yunus Emre? When his name is mentioned, faces light up and you feel a breeze of love. Love for Yunus Emre is one of the most precious bonds that hold us together. Our nation owes him a lot. The great Azerbaijani poet Vahapzade asks: 'Why does he have tombs in a thousand places when he died in one particular place?' and answers the question: 'Because every day a grave is prepared for him in hearts, In grasses, flowers, roses a grave is prepared! Be it fairy tale, be it truth - one man, but so many people: The voice is of being he from the instrument of the Turks.' Yunus Emre is the voice of being; he lives in the awareness of the 'unity of being'. That is why he is in the grasses, the flowers, the roses and the hearts. The essence of being, the high value that man has in being and the need to lead man to the awareness of this value is the basis of his world view. In other words, he is a Muslim mystic. He is the dervish Yunus. The cause of being is love, and it is through love that one is led to him who bestows being. Love is the reason for and the goal of coming into the world. The path that leads there goes through the heart of man, the highest of creatures: 'I did not come with a claim: my work is for the sake of love. Hearts are a friend's house - I came to build hearts.' God, whose being does not resemble the being of the beings he has created, whose innermost being is impossible to grasp, because at most the paths to understanding his workmen are open to us - this God has appointed man as governor on earth. He has given man the high rank of being the holiest of his creatures, for he created him as the quintessence of the universe. Man is a microcosm: whoever understands man also understands the universe. To walk on the paths of knowledge is also the way to recognise God. Knowledge is what man owes to God. Knowledge must help man to recognise himself. But recognising oneself is the basis of all knowledge: 'Science is: knowing knowledge. Science: knowing yourself. If you don't know yourself, what use is all this reading?' In this world we have a certain share: it is taken, it is carried away. No one stays here forever. But what we have to take and give is love. Love is the basis of existence: Let us love and be loved - for no one remains in this world!
[Namik Kemal Zeybek]
Tumblr media
Who was Yunus Emre? Little is known about him, except that he lived in central Anatolia, where he received his spiritual education from a Sufi master, Tapduk Emre, and died around 1321. Several places in Turkey are fighting over the honour of owning his grave. From some of Yunus' verses it can be seen that he met the great master of mystic poetry, Mevlana Rumi, who died in Konya in 1273 - this would suggest that Yunus was born around 1240 or a little later. His longing poems are best understood by travelling or walking through Anatolia and experiencing how all of nature forms a backdrop for these verses: You roar again, mad heart, And bubble like the waters bright? Are you flowing again, tears of blood, that you are blocking my path? I became dust on your path; you pointed all the way from over there - Are you the mountain with a stone breast that stands sternly against me? […] For he knew that all of nature, with its silent language, expressed its longing for God, the Eternal Beloved, and that every stone, every plant sang the praises of the Creator. His most beautiful poems were born out of this feeling. He was able to understand the squeaking of the waterwheel as an expression of the infinite longing of the wood, which, harvested from the native forest, now sighs for the original homeland - just as Mevlana Rumi had interpreted the song of the flute before him, whose laments express the homesickness for the eternal reeds, the undivided unity with God.

Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi (1207–1273), commonly known as Rumi, was a 13th-century Persian poet, Islamic scholar, theologian, and Sufi mystic. His influence extends well beyond his time, especially through his poetry, which is celebrated worldwide for its depth, spiritual insight, and universal appeal. Rumi was born in 1207 in Balkh, present-day Afghanistan, which was then part of the greater Persian Empire. His family fled Balkh due to the Mongol invasions and eventually settled in Konya, in present-day Turkey, which was part of the Seljuk Empire. This period was marked by significant turmoil, including the Mongol expansion, which brought devastation to much of the Islamic world, and the fragmentation of the Seljuk Empire. Konya, where Rumi spent most of his life, was a cultural and intellectual hub. The Seljuks had established it as a center for scholars, artists, and mystics, making it a fertile ground for Rumi’s spiritual and intellectual growth. His father, Baha' al-Din Walad, was a well-known theologian and mystic, and Rumi followed in his footsteps, eventually becoming a respected scholar and Sufi leader.
In 1244, Rumi encountered a wandering dervish named Shams al-Din Tabrizi (Shams of Tabriz). This meeting was a turning point in Rumi's life. Shams was an enigmatic and charismatic figure, deeply spiritual, but unconventional. Their relationship was intense and transformative for Rumi. Shams challenged Rumi’s conventional scholarly approach and introduced him to a more profound, mystical experience of divine love. Their bond was so deep that it became the subject of much speculation and controversy. Some viewed Shams as a spiritual guide who unlocked Rumi’s mystical potential, while others were suspicious of the intense nature of their relationship. This connection drastically changed Rumi's life and his approach to spirituality and writing. Shams disappeared mysteriously after a few years, which deeply affected Rumi. Some accounts suggest that he was murdered by Rumi’s followers, who were jealous of his influence over Rumi. This loss plunged Rumi into a period of deep grief, but it also inspired a vast outpouring of poetry and mystical writing, including his famous collection of lyric poetry, the Divan-e Shams-e Tabrizi (The Works of Shams of Tabriz), in which Rumi expresses his profound spiritual insights and emotions.
[See also 'Rumi and the wandering dervish' a poetical interpretation of Rumi's feeling after Shams' disappearance.]
After Shams’ disappearance, Rumi continued to live in Konya, where he became a prominent spiritual leader. His most famous work, the Masnavi (also known as the Mathnawi), is a six-book epic poem that explores various aspects of Sufi thought, including the nature of God, love, and the spiritual journey. It has been called the "Qur'an in Persian" for its depth and influence.
Rumi’s teachings and poetry emphasize the universality of divine love, the importance of the spiritual journey, and the transformative power of love and devotion. After his death in 1273, his followers founded the Mevlevi Order, also known as the Whirling Dervishes, which became known for its practice of Sema, a ritual dance symbolizing the spiritual ascent towards the divine.
Rumi's legacy transcends religious and cultural boundaries, making him one of the most beloved and influential poets in history. His message of love, tolerance, and spiritual unity continues to resonate with people across the world.

Anti-Fascist political prisoner kept in German prison in nothing but her underwear!
On May 16, 2022, the Turkish-born anti-fascist Özgül Emre was arrested at Heidelberg Central Station . The following evening, the two anti-fascists Serkan Küpeli and Ihsan Cibelik were also arrested in their apartments in Hamburg and Bochum. The three anti-fascists were all arrested on the basis of §129b StGB and are in various prisons in Hamburg, Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia.
The same patriarchal state attempts to dehumanize a female prisoner, Özgül Emre, by forcing her to wear prison clothes, which she refuses. This led to her going on hunger strike in her underwear for 44 days until she managed to get the demand withdrawn. Özgül is imprisoned under Section 129B because the German state acts as an extension of the Turkish state.
This letter was recently sent by Özgül Emre from Rohrbach Prison of Germany to her lawyer and translated from Turkish into English. Özgül is a revolutionary from Turkey who was arrested in Germany on 16th of May, 2022 and is accused of being a member of DHKP-C (Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party Front). As an exiled revolutionary in Germany, she worked in wide range of committees; from anti-drug committees to anti-racism committees. The attacks of German state didn’t stop with this mafia like kidnapping. From the detention onward, they forced prison uniforms on Özgül Emre in Rohrbach prison. German state knows very well that Revolutionaries do NOT and NEVER wear prison uniforms. In 1984, 4 revolutionaries died as a result of hunger strike to oppose the introduction of prison uniforms in prisons of Turkey. Until this day, there is no prison uniforms thanks to 4 martyrs. Özgül Emre comes from this uncompromising tradition to keep up the identity, integrity and dignity of being a revolutionary.
https://samidoun.net/de/2022/11/brief-von-oezguel-emre-18-08-2022/
Here is a translated letter from Özgül Emre , written on August 18, 2022 in Rohrbach JVA, approximately 1 month after the end of her hunger strike and her victory over the prison authorities :
But neither my revolutionary identity nor the fight for rights and freedoms can be prevented by repression and arrests. Immediately after my arrest, the Turkish consulate in Mainz was contacted. Can you imagine that? And although I didn't want to have any contact with this institution, I was asked if I was interested.
The public prosecutor chose the detention center intended for me and the judge accepted this facility. I was placed in a prison far from my home and even far from the place where I was arrested. A prison that you can't reach if you don't have a car. In a place that no one knows about. What collaboration against a revolutionary journalist, a woman who has no other interest than the fight against fascism. What is the reason for this hatred? Of course, the answer to this question is no secret to me. Especially not after everything I've experienced up to this point. The attacks began on the day of my incarceration, when, despite my expressed rejection, I was forced to wear prison clothes. I said: “I would rather die than wear prison clothes” and waged a fight in the form of the death fast, which ended on the 44th day with the handing over of the civilian clothes that the prison had sold to me. From my point of view, the death fast that I started was a success because I received my clothes. I would now like to tell you how 42 of the 44 days of my resistance went and what kind of resistance I ultimately led.
As a woman, especially with my cultural background, it was difficult to appear in front of other people in my underwear. At first I tried to cover my upper body with a towel and my lower body with a wool blanket (I was wearing tight, short underwear). The food distribution was carried out by male prisoners accompanied by male officials. Naturally, when I sat up to take a drink, I felt uncomfortable. But ultimately this was a political stance and I was in resistance. The real shame should be felt by those who put me in this situation. The days passed and after some time I stopped covering myself with towels and blankets. Because of the pain and lack of strength, I was no longer able to worry about these things. Even the distribution of sugar and salt, which is urgently needed during a hunger strike, became part of the repression against me.
BIS BALD! Özgül EMRE 18.08.2022
PS: In retrospect, I saw prisoners wearing their own clothes. That means: It's possible. Prisoners awaiting release could spend weeks on their clothes. This means that even though I was dying, the Federal Court of Justice deliberately withheld my clothes. I could have had these clothes at least until the clothes ordered and delayed by the institution arrived. My lawyer suggested that, but that too was rejected. I haven't had any problems with officials or other prisoners other than refusing to eat.
(Even if I did, that wouldn't be a reason to do all this to me!)

Has anyone seen any posts or discussion about portrayals of Latina mothers as always being nurses or other medical support personnel? Like maybe it's just a coincidence of the slim cross section of media I've seen, but it really feels like there have been a LOT of instances of like, "Latin American immigrant woman who works hard at her nurse/hospital job and tuts over her loved ones with very pragmatic advice". Like it seems to be a reaction to the "Spicy Latina" and "immigrant doing menial labor" tropes, and creating a character who is respectable but non-threatening in a story's support role (and just "sassy" enough to be entertaining) but she's always a nurse??
Off the top of my head, there's Rio in the Spider-Verse movies (hospital nurse), the mom that dies in the first episode of the Cyberpunk anime (EMR), the mom from One Day at a Time (clinic medical assistant), Carla from Scrubs (hospital nurse) , {more I'll add later when I can remember them}
Admittedly, I don't watch a lot of different stuff, and am white Canadian, so I don't exactly have a ton of exposure to say that it's a Trope or even a Trend. But, have any of you noticed? Or noticed someone else noticing?

╰ ┈ [ otto farrant , twenty five , cis male , he/his ] in the time of dragons , JASON LANNISTER is entering the game of thrones . said to be dauntless + shrewd , we can only hope that is the case as regrettably they are also well known to be obstinate + quarrelsome . when asked about them , people are always reminded of a flame - quickly growing in size and swallowing everything in its path and the ashes left by it’s path of destruction; a head of golden hair accompanied by a devilish grin; a set of broken chains, a reminder that he can’t be tamed . though they are the LORD OF LANNISPORT , their true loyalties lie with house lannister and rumour has it that if given the choice they would support THE SEPARATION OF THE REALMS above all else . those of us in the shadows wish them luck and can only hope they will survive what is to come .
basics
name: jason lannister
age: twenty five
title: lord
allegiance: house lannister of lannisport (the main branch can get fucked as far as he's concerned)
gender, pronouns: cis male & he/his
sexuality: homosexual
martial status: unwed, unbetrothed
familial
father: lancel lannister
mother: tbd.
siblings: alicent lannister
cousins: n/a
physical
hair color: blond
eye color: dark brown
height: 5'9''
build: athletic
personality
traits: dauntless, shrewd, obstinate, quarrelsome
mbti: entj
temperament: chloeric
moral alignment: chaotic evil
character parallels: ransom drysdale (knives out), han solo (star wars), ronan lynch (the raven cycle)
biography -
jason and his twin sister alicent are the only children of lord lancel lannister and his first wife, with jason being the lord's only son.
as a child his time would be split between the capital and lannisport - with hopes that he would come to live in the capital full time, or at least, spend most of his time there alongside his father.
however due to his uncooperative nature and just unwillingness to spend too much time away from his mother, most of jason's childhood would be spent in lannisport.
he would form an incredibly close bond with his mother, his only other close relationship being with his twin sister. he never seemed to care for his father, though that was through no fault of the older male's.
he was absolutely devastated by the death of his mother. and with her, went any traces of humanity that jason possessed. (that's a bit dramatic but basically no more nice jason)
he left lannisport within a fortnight, vowing, quite loudly, that he wouldn't return without a good reason.
to date he has returned exactly once for alicent's wedding - leaving the second her betrothed died. he wrongly assumed his sister wouldn't want him there.
he's been traveling westeros, earning money through work as a sell sword.
fun facts -
he's a bit of a pyromaniac. he doesn't go around starting fires but he sure does love to watch them !
he's just an incredibly angry guy, though no one can quite figure out why he's so angry. honestly, neither can he - though he won't be admitting that anytime soon.
he is very, very gay, which probably contributes to like 50% of his anger.
he's quite a gifted swordsman which has helped him find work as a sell sword.
he has never really considered becoming a knight, though he likely wouldn't have a hard time finding someone to knight him. it just doesn't interest him.
this man straight up doesn't sleep ! and in the rare event that he does, it's usually restless.
he's kind of violent ...
also he loves learning to use different kinds of weapons. it's his idea of fun.
wanted connections -
JASON LANNISTER , our LORD OF LANNISPORT , is currently searching for their long term companion (love interest)in the kingdoms. they should be aged twenty two - twenty eight with the possible faces of archie renaux, aramis knight, timothee chalamet, emre bey, corey mylchreest, charles melton, dylan wang, ewan mitchell any age appropriate male fc. i should probably start by saying jason is notoriously difficult to get along with, in fact, he usually doesn't even bother trying to form a positive relationship. but for whatever reason, your character is the one notable exception. jason doesn't just care about him, he cares what he thinks of him. jason has spent the past several years traveling westeros which is how he met your muse ! it's likely they got off on the wrong but were able to set aside their differences to become travel companions before eventually developing feelings for one another. needless to say, jason would do just about anything for him. also i will throw it out there that i am willing to make adjustments to this connection to fit your character ! ── you ARE required to contact the mun before applying , but if you wish to , you can reach them @QVARRELSOME.
rivals / enemies / negative connections. look jason is an asshole who goes out of his way to have negative interactions with those around him. he's got to have more negative connections than positive at this point.
flings. nothing serious - which is very intentional on jason's part but a man has needs and he's had a few flings as he's traveled across westeros. he tends to cut ties and run when they start getting to serious.
one serious relationship/possible ex. i'll work on details for this connection later but if you're interested let me know.
travel companion(s). people he's traveled with or even just crossed paths with on more than one occasion.
hosts. people he's visited/stayed with across westeros. he might not be a friendly person but he's quite a good house guest !
employers. he's a sell sword, do with that what you will ! though it's possible he's found other lines of work.

𝕚𝕓𝕣𝕒𝕙𝕚𝕞 “𝕒𝕓𝕖” 𝕓𝕒ğ𝕔ı
he was born twenty-nine years ago, he is a werewolf who lives in mystic grove as a firefighter, and is in the pack. he looks an awful lot like can yaman.
"The blood is a sunset. I admire it."
TW: mention of death, mention of drugs, mention of violence, gang mention, crime, mention of non-consensual act
Born in Emre, Turkey, Ibrahim was the first son of a young couple. His father was a stonemason at Çeçen Mermer, just 30 minutes away with a bus that took them from around the area every morning at 5am and returned them close to dark. They lived in a home along with the parents of his father and his uncle that had not yet married. Growing up Ibrahim was taught to love the earth as his grandfather was a farmer, retired from stonemacing himself long ago due to injury.
By the age of eleven Ibrahim knew that he wanted to someday leave his hometown and pursue education in the university in İzmir and so he strived for that throughout his school years, studying hard while also following his parent’s lessons at home and preparing for a pilgrimage. During the years there were victories and losses. He did get into the school’s football team for a short while until he had to start staying home more due to his mother falling ill a year after his grandmother had died. As the only child it fell to him to look after her while his grandfather was out and his father worked. His father tried to arrange a marriage a few times but with no success as their family seemed to have a bad reputation in the bigger cities due to an uncle of Ibrahim’s being caught into bad dealings… When he turned seventeen, after his mother had passed for a year and his father had remarried, he was happy to take a bus and go off to find his place in İzmir, finish his school there and build his own family.
This all seemed set in stone, in his head, a pilgrimage plan to Mecca after his graduation and before his university would start, having been accepted in Dokuz Eylül with finance. He worked two jobs to be able to pay for himself, wanting to make his father proud and not needing to ask for money. A janitor at a local store and for a nightclub that was opposite the building in which he rented a small room from an old friend of his uncle’s. At first he was just a promoter, stacks of flyers in his backpack for whenever he had a chance to walk around. Before school started he had already managed to get inside the club as a waiter and help around the back with heavy loads. He quickly bulked up and started growing out of his childish body and face.
His grades fell during the school year and he slowly turned away from the very traditional values that his father had instilled in him as he saw tourists and their behavior. After he had kissed a woman for the first time he did feel guilty about it for a long time and promised himself to not sin.  As time went on he was being approached by people he worked with to dabble into different dealings he declined to adamantly at first. But as he started going out more with new friends he made he also realized he needed more money and having quit his second job in order to have time to study he was quickly depleting his income. After he turned eighteen the man he rented from told him he could now find a real place for himself and so due to desperation Ibrahim began taking offers and selling drugs to customers and partygoers. If only he hadn’t made that decision, perhaps his life would have turned different, but only Allah knew that for him.
Soon his grades were so low the prospect of going to university had disappeared. By the time he graduated he had fully converted into a nightly routine, living a life most frowned upon and the only friends he had were drug dealers and addicts, the bouncer at the club he trained with and the bartender who taught him how to drink like a sailor. A year and a half passed in this way when one night he was approached by a man, surrounded by two massive guards, an offer he didn’t even consider refusing. Joining a group of people which were “like minded” seemed the correct thing. Until it turned out that Beyaz Kurtlar (“White Wolves”) was not just a name but a way of life. One under the moon that destroyed your body every full moon and made you roam like a beast outside the city.
At first Ibrahim felt empowered once he was turned, his demeanor changing to one of cockiness and menace, deals happening easier than before, travelling to buy better stock, being hired as a bodyguard and riches slowly filling his wallet. In this company he met Zeynep, a beautiful girl, daughter of a man who hired him for a few weeks. And like a dog in love, he followed her for months, moving his life to Istanbul where she lived and studied. When he wasn’t around her he worked more, easier with the higher population of the city and the higher demand, taking jobs he wouldn’t have before, wanting to buy a place and ask her father to marry her. She seemed to love him back, sharing secrets with him, inviting him to gatherings with her, as a date to an event from her university, though never to places her father was. He realized that but ignored it, falling more and more in love until a year later… when he read in the paper that her wedding to the son of a rich businessman was in two weeks’ time. And like wind, she was gone from his life faster than he could say her name. Or so she thought.
For the past five years he had learned to take what he wanted and that not much could be denied to him. His wolf nature made him even stronger than what his muscles showed him to be, his connections throughout the night world were spreading like a web and despite the rare dabbles with more dubious things than drugs and beatings, Büyük İbo always preceded him. And so he asked Zeynep to meet him and talk, her refusing to leave with him and abandon the engagement, saying that she always had used him for free protection against men and free drugs for her and her friends. Having a pretty face just hadn’t hurt when he had been whispering affectionate words. It had been quite some time since he had been turned and he did have a good control of his emotions at most times… but in that moment he couldn’t contain himself and lashed out, baring his teeth. He remembered her scream and then felt blood on his tongue before letting her go, his animal side happy with the action that would make her his because of what he would pass to her. Little did he know that on the next full moon she would attack him. Little did he know that after it his father would try to get him shot as she would lie that he had tried to take her against her will. He knew nothing at that time and could not predict that he would need to run.
So that is how he found himself on a flight to England, needing to escape as far away as possible. But it wasn’t far enough, as he came to find out just a month later. And so he applied for a visa and in a few months of hiding he had it and flew to America, an ocean separating him from the woman who had broken his heart and her father who wanted to break his skull.
Ibrahim has been in the United States for six years now. He found Greywood two years ago after trying to dabble in the underground of Phoenix unsuccessfully, being saved by a guy who turned out to be a witch and was heading to the city anyway. He got a small house in Mystic Grove and left it as it was at the front, fixing only the insides so that no one would ask questions as to where his money came from. He kept mostly to himself and applied in the fire station, needing to rebuild his life in a better way and try and use his skills for something good for a change. He sometimes leaves the city if he feels as if he is getting too close to someone, afraid his past may come and haunt him.
“what power did he attain when settling in greywood?”
Since coming into Greywood he can get a very slight sense of people’s emotions. When he is rested he can do so without too much effort, gathering whether someone is angry or sad or happy, but when tired he needs to push himself a lot to do so. He has gotten better with it, but tries not to pry.

ISTANBUL, May 28 (Reuters) - President Tayyip Erdogan claimed victory in Turkey's presidential election on Sunday, a win that would steer his increasingly authoritarian rule into a third decade after he saw off his toughest political challenge yet.
Addressing supporters from on top of a bus in Istanbul, Erdogan thanked people for voting and said Turks had given him the responsibility of governing for the next five years.
"The only winner is Turkey," he said.
Final official results have yet to be released.
There was no immediate response to Erdogan's victory speech from his challenger, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who had the backing of a six-party opposition alliance.
Russian President Vladimir Putin offered congratulations to Erdogan. The presidents of Iran and Algeria and the Emir of Qatar were among leaders to congratulate him in the Middle East, where he has asserted Turkish influence, at times with military power.
The election had been seen as one of the most consequential yet for Turkey, with the opposition believing it had a strong chance of unseating Erdogan after his popularity was hit by a cost-of-living crisis.
Instead, victory will reinforce his image of invincibility, after having already redrawn domestic, economic, security and foreign policy in the NATO member country of 85 million people and positioned Turkey as a regional power.
Supporters gathered at his Istanbul residence in anticipation of victory as data reported by both the state-run Anadolu agency and the opposition ANKA news agency gave him the edge with nearly 99% of ballot boxes counted.
The head of the High Election Board earlier told a news conference that Erdogan was leading Kilicdaroglu with 53.41% support, with 75.42% of ballot boxes logged.
Erdogan, head of the Islamist-rooted AK Party, appealed to voters with nationalist and conservative rhetoric during a divisive campaign that deflected attention from deep economic troubles.
The defeat of Kilicdaroglu, who promised to set the country on a more democratic and collaborative path, would likely be mourned in Western capitals which have been alarmed by his ties to Russia.
Across the Middle East, the prospect of five more years of Erdogan does not appear to be prompting the alarm it might once have after he reached accommodations with several of the governments with which he had been at odds.
Erdogan supporters who gathered outside his Istanbul residence chanted Allahu Akbar, or God is Greatest.
"I expect everything to become better," said Nisa, 28, a headscarved woman wearing a headband with Erdogan's name.
Another Erdogan supporter said Turkey would get stronger with him in office for five more years.
"There are issues, problems in every country around the world, in European countries as well ... With strong leadership we will overcome Turkey's problems as well," said the supporter who gave his name as Mert, 39, as he celebrated with his son.
Bugra Oztug, 24, who voted for Kilicdaroglu, blamed the opposition for failing to change. "I feel sad and disappointed but I am not hopeless. I still think there are people who can see the realities and truth," Oztug said.
Erdogan's performance has wrong-footed opponents who thought voters would punish him over the state's initially slow response to devastating earthquakes in February, in which more than 50,000 people died.
But in the first round of voting on May 14, which included parliamentary elections, his AK Party emerged top in 10 of the 11 provinces hit by the earthquakes, helping it to secure a parliamentary majority along with its allies.
ECONOMIC POLICY IN FOCUS
Emre Erdogan, a political science professor at Istanbul's Bilgi University, attributed Erdogan's success to his supporters' belief "in his ability to solve problems, even though he created many of them".
Erdogan had also maintained the support of conservative voters who long felt marginalised by the secular elites that used to dominate Turkey. "This era will be characterized by a decline in political and civil liberties, polarization, and cultural fights between two political tribes," he said.
Erdogan appeared to have prevailed despite several years of economic turmoil which critics blame on unorthodox economic policies which the opposition had pledged to reverse.
Uncertainty about what an Erdogan win will mean for economic policy pushed the lira to record lows last week.
Reuters reported last week that there is disagreement and uncertainty within Erdogan's government over whether to stick with what some call an unsustainable economic programmed or to abandon it.
Critics had declared the vote a test of whether such an autocratic leader could be peacefully removed.
But ahead of the first-round presidential election on May 14, Erdogan - a veteran of a dozen election victories - said he respected democracy and denied being a dictator.
Kilicdaroglu, who ran a mostly inclusive campaign in the face of attacks from Erdogan, had promised to reset governance, restore human rights, and return independence to the courts and central bank after they were sidelined over the last decade.
After his ruling alliance won a comfortable majority in parliament in the May 14 vote, Erdogan had warned that a diverse opposition alliance of six parties would struggle to govern and he would continue his strong leadership in a new five-year term as president.

crying real tears imagining zombie apocalypse dortmund omfg jule, marco, and toto are not making it through the first 24 hours,,, genuinely surprises me how far they’ve made it through adult life under normal circumstances sometimes
No please god it’s so true!!!! Literally dumb bitch nation over at dortmund. You’ve got like kobel and Jude trying to get everyone in order and haaland is off just trying to choke the zombies (they don’t breathe it’s a useless endeavour but try and stop him), jule Marco and Toto and gio are like people want to protect them (and will die doing so but my god they are contributing NOTHING). Mats I’m unsure on I need to ponder upon him some more. Wolff and Schulz survive but only because even the zombies forgot about them. Emre dies on day 1 the first time he sees a zombie because he just thinks the person is ill or something and fails to defend himself even slightly

s/p first year as a PA
I was hired as a hospitalist primarily for the transplant service. However, in the setting of the pandemic and staffing shortages, I am all over the place now and work in almost everything non-pediatric and non-surgical.
In my first few months as a PA, I was incredibly overwhelmed. I went from being a learner who switches specialties every month to a fully-fledged provider making life-or-death decisions on an hourly basis. Oftentimes I’d find myself in the room of a patient actively crumping, surrounded by the patient’s family and multiple nurses awaiting instructions on what to do to save the patient. I thought that I faced a lot of pressure in school, but it was nothing compared to this.
And just when I started to get a hang of it all, the pandemic hit. What a nightmare. As mentioned above, I was hired to work with with transplant patients. Prior to the pandemic, my transplant colleagues and I were masking and gowning for almost every patient: 1 surgical mask and 1 gown per patient and per patient encounter. But once COVID hit, we were rationing PPE. 1 N95, 1 pair of goggles, and 1 face shield for the pandemic. 1 surgical mask per week, and 1 gown only if a patient had Cdiff or a history of MDRO bacteremia.
What did the pandemic mean for our transplant patients?
Our patients are on immunosuppressant medications to prevent transplant rejection. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult for them to fight infections.
Our department did what it could to prevent COVID. We'd test patients on admission for COVID, regardless of symptoms or exposure history. If they were positive, they went to the COVID team and quarantined on their unit for a period of time and had to test negative before returning to our unit and being transplanted. We took many other measures to reduce COVID risk to the best of our ability.
People still died. To see someone get transplanted successfully and then die of a virus is horrifying. Unfortunately, despite our admission tests, sometimes patients contracted COVID within the hospital. Patients would be happily FaceTiming their family one moment, telling them all of their plans for once they were discharged- then the next day they'd be intubated. We tried Remdesivir, Dexamethasone, prone positioning, etc. But the virus moved through them quickly, and these efforts often were too late. No amount of hoping and praying brought them back.
As a first year PA, I learned to go to an empty conference room, close the door, and remove my mask before calling to the family of the deceased. This way, as they gathered around the phone in their homes, the family could hear me unmuffled as I delivered the news. Also, this way my tears didn't ruin my mask for the rest of the week.
I learned a lot this year. It's been a mixture of crying and laughing. There are times that I question why I ever became a PA, and then there are times when this career feels like home. In addition to transplant, I’ve also been working in the  ED, IMC, ICU, inpatient hospice, clinic, and infusion center these past 6 months. I’ve learned quite a lot along the way.
Lessons learned as a first year PA:
1. Check your pager hourly: This is in addition to checking it whenever you get paged. Sometimes I’ll get paged while I’m rounding, read it, and then forget about it. Now I go through my pager at every hour to ensure that I already responded to all my pages and then answer ones that I missed/forgot.  On a semi-related note, a while back I wrote about good paging etiquette.
2. Let people know when you're out: I work a rotating schedule. As a result, it’s hard to predict when I’m in or out of the hospital. Sometimes I’ll come back on service and find urgent emails or texts that are a few days old. Now I leave an away message with my return date and my supervisor’s contact information on both email and hospital text. If someone really needs to get a hold of me, my supervisor has my personal cell phone number.
3. Be conscientious of what time you consult: I generally try to get all of my nonurgent consults done before 3pm. Many services have only 1 resident covering after 3pm, so I try not to page/call unless I have an emergency.
4. Call the nurse if something needs to be done urgently: Being a nurse means being the ultimate multitasker. Room 5 is due for his IV Amphotericin, Room 2's Foley is supposed to come out prior to void trial with Urology, Room 1's infusion completed and is beeping, and Room 4 is a bit altered and yanked out her PICC. Now I’m placing an order for Room 3 to get IV Lasix due to concern for pulmonary edema. However, the nurse may be preoccupied with Room 4 and not see the order in the computer for some time. If I really need to the patient to get the Lasix right way, I’ll place the order through EMR and then call the nurse and see what their situation is. If they’re crazy busy with Room 4 and likely to be unable to get to the Lasix within the next 15min, I ask whether they’re okay with me asking another nurse to give the Lasix now. Usually the answer is yes.
5. Value your nurses: Nurses know the patient best. They’re the ones answering call bells, giving meds, doing dressing changes, etc. Unfortunately they oftentimes bear the brunt of everyone’s frustrations, from patients to patients’ families to attendings to managers. Not to mention, they’re the ones doing the dirty work. Bedside nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare, but they also are high risk for burnout. Always support your nurses, whether that’s volunteering to answer a patient’s family member’s 17th phone call of the day or responding to a patient’s call bell yourself.
6. Know how to get a hold of someone quickly: It’s less than ideal to page someone repeatedly. At my hospital, if I need to talk to an attending urgently, I call the operator and ask them to connect me directly to the attending’s cell phone. If a patient is crashing and we’re not in the ICU, I dial the emergency number and call a rapid response, which sends people running into my patient’s room.
7. Plan your discharge meds from Day 1: The goal of every admission is to treat the patient and then discharge them safely. Send medications early for prior auth and call the pharmacy to make sure that they have medications in stock. (One time a patient’s insurance didn’t cover Levofloxacin, of all things.)
8. Keep social work and care coordination aware of all needs from the start: Does your patient looks unsteady? Place a PT/OT consult and let social work and care coordination know that the patient might require home therapy services and/or DME so that they can start looking at services and companies that may be covered by insurance. Does your patient have a central line? They’ll likely need a home health service to teach them how to care for it daily at home. Do they seem to require frequent transfusions? They’ll probably need labs on discharge. Is the patient’s living situation safe (no heat/AC, possible abuse at home, financial difficulties, etc)? They may need alternative housing.
9. The attending is not always right: Generally speaking, the attending has the last say on how the team manages a patient. However, I’ve come across situations in which an attending’s decision put a patient in more danger. Sometimes asking them about their decision can help steer the care plan toward better patient care. Other times you just have to stand your ground and be okay with being on the receiving end of an attending’s misdirected rant. Report these instances to your manager and to other higher-ups.
10. Always have gloves in your pocket: You never know when you’ll find a mess. Or which part of the body someone asks you to examine. Or how hygienic a person is (or is not).
11. Verify weird vitals: I was very new when I walked into work, opened a patient’s chart, and promptly bolted down the hallway when I saw a patient’s O2 sats recorded as 15-20s. I found the patient sitting up in bed, eating breakfast, and bewildered by me bursting into the room. Turns out that overnight someone mistakenly recorded his respirations as the O2 sats.
12. Remove whatever tubes you can: Anything entering the body is an infection risk. Does your patient still need that Foley placed by the surgery team? No? Yank it (don’t actually yank because ouch). Is your patient A&O and able to eat without aspirating? Remove the NG tube. Does your patient have good veins and require infrequent transfusions/labwork? Pull their central line.
13. Take a buddy with you to emergencies: Two heads are better than one. Even if you’re a seasoned provider and well-equipped to manage an emergency, you might need another body to help with performing CPR, making urgent calls, grabbing supplies, etc.
14. Ask your patients about premeds for procedures: We all have different levels of pain tolerance. A procedure goes far more smoothly if your patient is comfortable. Note: if you’re going to premed with Ativan or an opiate in the outpatient setting, make sure they have a driver.
15. Be good to your charge nurse and unit secretary: I don’t know how they do it. If I had to manage the unit’s signout, patient complaints, calls from other floor, being yelled at by providers, verifying paper orders, and finding beds for incoming patients- all at the same time - I’d lose my mind.
16. If your patient is mad, just shut up and listen: There are many things that you can’t control: the time it takes for a patient to get a room, the temperature of hospital food, the dismissive attitude of your attending, etc. And oftentimes the patient knows this. My reflex is to want to apologize for things and overexplain why different things are happening. But sometimes the patient just needs to rant. Take a step back and just listen. That can make all the difference.
17. Fact check your notes: The framework for your progress note often is the note from the day prior. It sounds obvious, but make sure that you go through the note and make updates and changes accordingly. If today is 01/15, there’s a good chance that the Fungitell from 12/31 is not still pending.
18. Try to learn some nursing skills: This is one of the areas in which I most envy my NP colleagues. If a patient’s IV pump is beeping or their central line need to be flushed, I oftentimes awkwardly step out of the room and look vacantly into the distance for a nurse. I’ve finally figured out how to spike a bag (albeit I do so very slowly, and it certainly makes the RNs giggle some). I talked to our unit’s nurse manager, and she’s willing for me to learn some nursing skills from the staff during a slow day- we’ll see when thing slow down!
19. Be kind: Generally speaking, being in a hospital is stressful. Patients are feeling out of sorts, and staff are working with constant dinging in the background. I rant plenty on this website, but I’m kind to everyone at work (with few exceptions) because it makes things more comfortable for everyone. Additionally, if you are always kind to your patients and colleagues, your reputation will speak for itself. One time I was walking down a hall with poor reception while on my ASCOM with a notoriously standoffish nurse from another unit. My phone cut out. She called my unit’s nurse manager to complain, and the nurse manager told her that I would never hang up on purpose. My interactions with the nurse going forward were always more pleasant in nature.
20. Support your team: The best colleagues are not the smartest colleagues; the best coworkers are the ones who have your back. Whether it’s a medical emergency or just a strange situation, it’s important to be supported and to give support.
I know that I’ve learned a lot more than this, so I’ll likely be adding to this throughout the year. Happy Snow Day, all!

Working on the farms had its perks. Like keeping James from thinking too much about the fact that he had fallen to his death at the hands of his wife and ended up on a spooky magic island also inhabited by his dead brother. Honestly, what else did a man need? At least the goats were cute and no one suspected him of fawning over them since all he ever did was clean up after them-- from the stall floor to picking muck out of their hooves. Anything was better than sitting about and thinking. Which was all he ever did at his old job. To think he’d gone from CEO to goat-maid. There had to be a better word for his job.
Tomas had shoved a box of odds and ends in his hands and told him to store it away. Just glad to be of some use, James did as he was told, pushing open the door to the shed with his back. Light shined into the dim, small shed and James saw a familiar face. How strange to think there was a familiar face on this god forsaken island. Other than his brother of course. “Don’t impale me,” he deadpanned as he stood there looking at Emre. “I have so much to live for.”Despite the cold, frigid teasing (ironic considering how they met) James did actually need to speak to Emre.
Emre... the man probably didn’t even have a secondary school education and yet he’d figured out the manner in which he died. Well-- figured out was giving him too much credit. James supposed in the same way he knew Emre’s type, Emre knew him. Wealthy, closed off, married out of convenience... there was more to him than that of course. More to his marriage. But how to convince him of that?
“Were you ever married?” James asked suddenly, not moving from the shed entrance blocking Emre’s only escape.

“So I met your boyfriend.” He might be practically living at Henry’s place officially, but for the most part, that just means he sleeps there for certain each night. The reaper house is still very much his home, even if his bedroom is a bit more of an office now. Beau loved them all too much to just officially pass his keys over to Emre and let them be. He might be a reaper, but as a dead person, he was also a ghost, and he’d chosen to haunt Ajax, Orion, Paloma, Emily, and Emre until he died….Well, until he died for a third time. “Like officially.” He elaborates as he sinks down onto the couch beside Ajax. “Bit of a quirky guy, isn’t he?” @ajaxgriffin

I actually also had mock disasters at my high school. They did a car crash one every other year to talk about safe driving (it was mostly boring and traumatic), but they also did ones to help train the kids in EMR/EMT classes. I participated in one of those, did all my SFX makeup, and "died" by "bleeding out". Good times.
(sorry)
😭😭 this seems like a good use of school resources i think
