She knew before his first goal that it was a special game since it's the night before Wyatt's 21st birthday. She's been waiting months for this night since she turned 21 in December. It makes tonight even better that Dallas is playing in game four of the second round of the playoffs too.

Wyatt scores again in the second period and she is on her feet for the rest of the game just in case he gets the hatty. It would be the perfect way to end being 20. He gives the puck to Steel on an empty net attempt though and that’s the end of his last game at 20 years old.

That’s Wyatt. He could’ve had a hat trick in his last game as a 20 year old but he let Sam have his first goal of the playoffs instead. So selfless. That’s her boyfriend though and it’s one of the reasons she loves him.

She goes back to the hotel where the Stars are staying to wait for Wyatt. It’s not quite midnight in Colorado so they have to wait a little bit before taking Wyatt out.

She changes out of her borrowed stolen Stars jersey into something a little more bar friendly. The Stars jersey and leggings turns into a skintight black mini dress with thin straps and heels. The dress accentuates her curves and pushes her breasts up. She pulls out the double French braids that she had in to make her hair naturally wavy then touches up her makeup.

A key is used in the door and it’s pushes open about 30 minutes after she gets back to the hotel. She peeks her head out of the bathroom and watches Wyatt walk into the room. He isn’t alone. Pavs, Tyler, Jamie, Roope, Miro and Logan walk in with him. She smiles and walks out of the bathroom.

“Hi, handsome,” she says to get Wyatt’s attention. “Nice goals tonight.”

Wyatt looks up from his phone and smiles when he sees his girlfriend. “Like what you saw, pretty girl?” he asks as she approaches him.

“I’ve very much enjoyed all seven of your playoff goals this season,” she laughs. “And three last season. Good job at scoring ten playoff goals before turning 21.”

One of his hands falls to her waist and he pulls her flush against him before crashing their lips together. His other hand rests on her lower back and he dips her backward a bit. She smiles and cups his jaw with both her hands.

The kiss heats up and for a second, she forgets that six other people are in the room. It’s not until one of said other people clears his throat that she remembers that they’re not alone.

Wyatt breaks the kiss and looks at his teammates. She turns her own head to look at the other hockey players in the room.

“The six of you insisted that you come back to my room with me knowing she was here and I scored two goals tonight while also being the eighth player in NHL history to score 10 playoff goals before turning 21,” he says. “I apologize for getting a little carried away.”

“A little?” Tyler asks. “You were trying to eat her face, Johnny.” She giggles at Tyler’s comment and looks up at Wyatt. He stands her back up but doesn’t let her go.

Her boyfriend rolls his eyes and asks, “What time are we going out and who else is coming? There’s no way that it is just the six of you taking me out tonight. Not after the win.”

Jamie, who was typing away on his phone, says, “All the guys that can legally drink are coming, which I’m pretty sure it’s everyone once the clock strikes midnight in an hour.” The Stars captain looks at her. “You’re 21, right?”

“Turned 21 in December,” she explains.

“Good,” Jamie replies. “We leave at quarter of twelve so we are at the bar by midnight to buy Johnny here his first legal drink. I’m giving Pavs that honor, but I’m buying his second drink as his captain.”

The guys laugh then begin fighting over who else is going to buy Wyatt a drink. All she got from the entire argument is that Wyatt is going to get very drunk tonight and will be very hungover when they wake up for their early afternoon flight back to Dallas tomorrow.

In the forty minutes between when Wyatt got back to the room and when they leave, more Stars players make their way into the hotel room after showering or eating something. It’s not a very big room and there are nearly 20 grown men standing around. She spends the entire time in Wyatt’s arms or sitting on his lap to save some space.

At quarter of twelve, she and the Stars leave the hotel in the van that they all pitched in to rent so they don’t take the team bus to the bar. Pavs is the designated driver so they can make it back in one piece. Ten minutes later, the van arrives at a bar in downtown Denver.

Considering it’s a Monday night in the middle of May, the bar is very crowded. Maybe it’s people who went out to watch the game or maybe it’s people that decided to just go drinking on a Monday night. Either way, it’s very crowded and the music is loud. ESPN is on multiple TVs so the game was on at some point. Their group gets stared at as they find a large high top table to sit at.

Wyatt sits at the head of the table. She sits on one side of him and Pavs sits across from her. Tyler sits on the other side of her and Jamie is on the other side of Pavs.

A waitress walks up to the table with her pad and says, “I guess you’re all here to celebrate your win. I guess you’re also here for his birthday.” She nods at Wyatt. “You guys still have like three minutes before I can legally serve him a drink.”

Jamie speaks up. “Well, by the time the drinks get to the table, it’ll be midnight and he’ll be 21,” he comments.

“Touché,” she replies with a smile. “What can I get you guys?”

They go around the table and order their drinks. Pavs orders for Wyatt since technically, it’s not midnight yet and he can’t order his own drink. He’s got two minutes before he can do that. IDs are checked, including Wyatt’s to make sure he isn’t lying about turning 21 in a minute.

Then she’s off with their drink orders. Pavs has the first round.

Tyler is the first to acknowledge when the clock strikes midnight. He lets the entire bar know when he screams, “He’s 21!” Hoots, hollers, and happy birthdays sound from around the table. Wyatt turns a bright shade of red but has a huge smile on his face as he thanks his teammates.

She smiles at her birthday boy. Wyatt eventually looks at her. “Happy birthday, baby,” she says to him.

“Thank you, my pretty girl,” Wyatt replies.

She hops out of her seat so she can give Wyatt a hug. He wraps his arms around her shoulders and she pecks his jaw. “We have a lot to celebrate tonight,” she mumbles against his ear. “Just so you know.”

He looks down at her with a grin on his face. “I can’t wait.”

Their drinks all arrive about two minutes later. The guys all hold their drinks up and Jamie makes a little toast.

“To Wyatt Johnston’s 21st birthday,” he says. “He is just getting started. That being said, here’s to us going up in the series and being one game away from moving onto the next round. Let’s win it on Wednesday and make it to the Western Conference finals for the second year in a row.”

The boys cheers their drinks and take a sip. Wyatt downs his in a few chugs. Some of the guys are impressed and others are surprised. She gives Wyatt a knowing look so he can relax because it’s so obvious that he’s had drinks before.

Jamie orders a round of shots, and everyone orders their favorite shot. Tyler gets the round of drinks after that and everyone is two drinks and a shot deep already. They’ve been at the bar for maybe fifteen minutes, ten of those where Wyatt has been legal.

A couple of the single guys go and try to find a girl for the night, but it’s rough being a Dallas Star in Avalanche territory. She just laughs at their attempts as the alcohol she has been drinking begins to run through her veins.

An hour later, things are spinning even though she’s in a chair. She’s had four drinks and five shots. All were very strong and she doesn’t have the highest tolerance. Wyatt has a higher tolerance, or maybe it’s because he’s several inches taller than her and weighs more than she does.

Wyatt excuses himself to go get a drink at the bar. Her eyes linger on him as he weaves his way through the crowd to get his drink. She sips her drink as her eyes fall to his ass. It looks good in the dress pants he never got out of when he got back to the hotel after the game. The button up he’s wearing hugs his arms in the right places as he leans against the bar.

She crosses her legs as she imagines both articles of clothing on their hotel room floor while they celebrate the win and his birthday.

Suddenly, she isn’t sure if she’ll make it back to the hotel. The room gets hot very quickly and she presses her lips in a line. Her mind betrays her despite every attempt to stop thinking about her plans for when they leave the bar in a few hours.

He comes back with a handful of drinks for the table, including another drink for her since she was almost finished her drink when he walked away. Wyatt hands her the glass and her eyes focus on his hand around it. All she can think about is his fingers in her hair while his dick is in her mouth.

Wyatt turns his full attention to her and she raises her eyebrows. A lightbulb goes off in his head and he gets up from his seat. “Right, okay,” he stammers. “Let’s go.”

Happy that he finally got the idea, she hops down from her seat at the table and takes the hand that Wyatt offers her. Neither of them says a word to anyone at the table. They just walk toward the bathroom.

Luckily, it’s a single stall bathroom with a lock on the door. She checks her surroundings to make sure no one is looking before dragging Wyatt into the ladies room behind her.

She presses Wyatt against the door to shut it and clicks the lock so no one walks in. Wyatt takes her face in his hands and crashes their lips together in a heated kiss. He ravishes her mouth with his and it only makes things worse for her. She whines into his mouth and he swallows the sound.

It’s probably because she’s drunk, but she’s very turned on right now. With every kiss, she feels the need to cross her legs just for some pressure on her core.

She smiles behind her glass because she knows Wyatt is planning to propose at some point. She has no idea when but maybe Jamie isn’t wrong about the two years tops.

Whether you’re old or new— years long, started this season, came back this season, or just came in for the playoffs; a leaving bandwagon fan, or sticking around for next season, thank you for being here.

Thank you for supporting this team this playoffs season, especially after this rough Western Conference Final. Thank you for learning their names. Thank you for celebrating their wins. Thank you for experiencing this with me.

Thank you to the fans that didn’t stop believing after February. Thank you to the fans who stayed until the end of this series’s game six.

This game didn’t properly show off what the Stars are capable of. They are so much more than series. They have a lot of young star players; this is only the beginning.

To the new fans, I truly hope you stick around. I hope you get to feel the joy of watching a Stars broadcast and listen to Josh Bogorad and Razor crack jokes. I hope you see Roope get even more hat tricks. I hope you see how fun this team can be.

This team is underrated. I bet most of you hadn’t even heard of many of our star players, no matter how high their goals, assists, and points were compared to the rest of the league. Most of the broadcasts didn’t think the Stars could even make it this far.

This team can thrive in planned and prepared chaos. This team can rally together for one of their teammates. This team can be a total disaster, or the biggest heroes, and there is hardly any in between. But nevertheless, this team is a family.

To the old fans, it thrills me how much you support this team. They deserve every ounce of it. This team can be frustrating, but what family isn’t?

To the new fans, welcome home. I hope you stay, but if you don’t, thank you for renting us.

This is the last year of his ELC and the Stars aren't in cap HELL but I have concerns about where they will focus their offseason efforts. But that's not about Wyatt, that's my psychosis.

Wyatt had an awesome second season and I am so pumped to see him on a line with Roope and Robo.

2. Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins, that Old Man

Back for, and I know you're shocked, 8.7 million a year. I have absolutely zero confidence the Pens will make it to the Playoffs but I have SO MUCH WANT for Crosby to be in the Playoffs again.

3. Matthew Tkachuck, Florida, Master of Psychological Warfare

He has so many exciting dates around the league! Meeting the Bruins again the same night Florida raises their Stanley Cup Champions banner! Playing against Brady and the boys! Playing against the Oilers! Playing against new captain Auston! It's just going to be so. busy.

Also I want them to win again.

Also. I want him to put up an MVP quality season. For reasons.

Dude, I think he's fire. I think he's got another, like, three levels to his game. Yes, I want the Rags to lose, always. But also... i want K'Andre to have an incredible year and get a great new contract (ideally with another team so I can root for him to win).

oghhh long story for Sure. i became like. distantly enamored with it watching the bruins with my dad/brother during the 2010-11 playoffs like that and soccer were the only sports i could bother watching. then in 2019? i re-read check please, became obsessed with it on that read through, started following the players some characters were based off of - namely sid and segs. then segs lead me down a path of delusion and insanity forever. so like. either the 2011 bruins cup run, check please, or tyler seguin.

2. Your first ever fandom friend

was trying to think of tumblr moots but ! technically predates my hockeyblr era by a couple yrs. met @stickypucky through. s. stephen johns discord/minecraft server. in 2020! i think!

The Hischier on screen, prerecorded, ignorant of Jack’s existence and his inner monologue, laughs and shrugs. Roope/Wyatt for the ship ask plz?

yeah!! honestly i hadn't even considered them until hyacinthed started posting fic for them over on ao3 (& i know that @coffeehound91 is all in on them!) but the vibes there are so fun to look into, mostly because both of them have such disparate vibes?

wyatt does your nhl standard rookie humbleness ('my goal this year was to just come in, be a contributor and help the stars win games' re: the calder snub, etc etc etc) so well & while roope isn't like. cocky? or arrogant in an off-putting way?? he's also obviously supremely confident and settled both into himself and into his place on the team. pavs is a mentor to both of them but i feel like out of all the guys on the team who consider pavs a mentor, robo's the one most likely to follow in his career/play style path, & wyatt seems more primed to be a roope-type player — an obviously skilled goal-scorer who can shine defensively as well, given how much the team started trusting him w the pk down the stretch & into the playoffs.

i think pairing them off is fun because there ARE some clear similarities in how they both see the game & play the game. but also, wyatt's young & goofy in a way that we only really see roope get in the offseason/with other finns. so the vibes are interesting in that when you pair them off, it's like, will roope make wyatt kind of want to stand up straighter in an attempt to be taken more seriously? will wyatt tease out that lighter side of roope that he seems to keep back when in texas/around the north american guys? etc etc etc. when i wrote for them i was tackling it from a place of like ......... roope'd probably like having this young hotshot be obviously taken in by him & wyatt would love getting roope to like him enough that he stops seeming so cool all the time. there's a lot of interesting stuff there to work with.

it's not the main ship i drift to for either of them — i am still by & large bought into wyatt + tydel and i've also been putting in the Investment Work on wyatt's vibes w stanks for when he joins the team next season. & for roope i feel like miroroope & roboroope are where my head's at most of the time. but i DO love reading stuff w them paired off together and i'm sure i'll end up doing something else w them at some point!

dallas stars!! i follow a few stars blogs and they just seem very fun. i like robo and otter and also miro and roope and wyatt a lot so they’re cool to me! otter is def one of my fav goalies to watch even if the playoffs were a rough time ☹️☹️☹️

So it’s halfway through my first hockey playoff round one and I want to record my thoughts on each match up to see how if my feelings change/shift.

Eastern Conference

-Canes vs islanders- boring boring boring. I really want to like the Canes but BORING. Both teams do have at least one really pretty player though. But I’m five tried to watch multiple games and just can’t.

-Toronto V lightening (there is gonna be no rhyme or reason in my naming conventions… it’s just how I think of the team)… I haven’t watched any, I feel bad for Toronto bc even their fans don’t think they can win. I do t really care about this series.

-devils v. Rangers- Jack Hughes bitchiness with media makes me laugh. I think the Rangers are thrives bc they stole the Texas rangers name so therefore want the devils to win so the fake!rangers can once again disappear. Not a fan of the fake!rangers and after trade deadline day I started feeling that they are massively overrated… not sure if it’s true bc they were predicted to crush the devils and it’s a 2-2 series…. Probably gonna watch the highlights of these games but I don’t care enough for anything more.

-bruins v panthers. I think the Bruins are massively overrated. Like they are good but I don’t think they are the best thing ever and I’m not super impressed by Ullmark. He kind of completely lost game five of the series for his team and it’s both funny/sad. Also I think it’s dumb af to count the panthers out bc when I first started watching hockey/listening to hockey podcasts and just obsessing over the sport. Everyone said they were in a rebuild year and had fucked up the Tkachuck trade and weren’t even gonna make the playoffs. Then everyone said they were gonna be swept in round one, that it would maybe (maybe) go to five games… we’ll game six is Friday. So I think that they are hungry and Jane something to prove.

Western Conference

Oilers v LA kings- fingers crossed for the oilers bc I want more GIFs of Leon drasaitl (I think that’s how you spell his last name) on my dash. He’s sooo gorgeous. Like seriously unfairly hot. The kings are kind of a nothing team to me so I reall do not care abt them and I think that the announcers kiss Connor McDavid’s butt a lot… but Leon??? He’s unfair and unreal.

Jets V golden Knights- I want the knights to win bc the stars have a great record against them. I don’t really care about any of the players though Jack Eichel has a spot in my heart bc of fanfic. But not enough for me to watch his games.

Avs V Kraken- the Kraken bore me and it makes me sad bc I love their sweaters. I love their three star tradition. I like their mascot. And I feel like the avs are massively overrated bc of their win last year when this year’s team seems okay? Like a few great players but over all very meh. But the Kraken put me to sleep.

Stars (babies) v Wild- Kay this is the one series that I’ve watched the majority of… like I missed one game and im not willing to watch it (game three) but im gonna watch highlights. So I want the stars to win bc hometown team, babies, pretty hockey, love them, they deserve it, never done anything wrong (okay I disagree no penalty on the hit in Reaves last night or Suter’s everything)… oetter is amazing. Miro is phenomenal. Roope is unreal. Robo is (sucking according to podcasts but still has at least one point per game.)… I think it takes class to go out against a team that gave one of your guys a concussion with no major repercussions and still play good hockey. However, all that being said if the Wild win games six and seven I’m gonna be cheering for them to win the cup. If they were playing any other team I’d be cheering g for them right now. They play the kind of hockey that catches my attention bc I like pretty skating, good passes, unreal goalkeeping, and lots of hits. I don’t want hurt players but physical hockey is fun. It’s why I like the game. I’m gonna need to watch their games next season too bc they intrigue me sooo much. I also feel like they are kind of an overlooked team with a lot of potential. So if they weren’t playing the stars I’d be sooo much happier.

(Also I think the Avs are dumb for not throwing the last game against the predators. They have a much better regular season record against the Wild then the kraken. And would have maybe been done with their series at this point bc the wild really sucked against the Avs)

Hey. What can you tell me about Mikko Rantanen? I have enjoyed watching him play during the playoffs. What is he like off the ice?

I have never met him but he seems like a fun loving easy-going guy!

Here's some off-ice info about him:

He has a gorgeous gf Susanna Ranta who shares beautiful lovey pics of them on her Instagram (and I think Mikko on his too).

He isn't shy of his physical assets and will gladly pose shirtless

He has invested in a hot tub company and promoted them on his social media, yes posing shirtless in the products

But he has also invested in forest and has done some forestry stuff in his free time

Idk if the golden retriever he goofs off with for pics and vids is his family's or his but surely someone can elaborate

He is a big community and family guy it seems, he has financially supported the women's floorball team of TPS where his sister plays. TPS is a multi-sport club and their boys' and men's hockey team were Mikko's path to where he is now. He also has a summer hockey camp for junior players in Finland.

He parties in the summer at least, he's seen around in bars and music festivals in his hometown Turku, and other hockey players such as Kaapo Kakkoand Raamus Ristolainen have been seen with him - actually he's from a smaller neighboring town Nousiainen and the pride is mutual

He's a diligent trainer and very fit. He was the captain for Junior Team Finland when they won gold in 2016 world championships, Roope Hintz and Sebastian Aho were his alternates. And he and Sebastian were roommates for men's worlds 2017.

Someone help me more! This is all based on what's out about him on public sources, like said, I don't know him personally but he seems like a good guy.
