What if...

Sun had the virus and completely embraces it and the effects it causes for the sole purpose to win you as his no matter the cost? The kicker? No one but a close coworker is aware of this.

I made a short snippet of the event taking place if you wanna read a little. Please enjoy!

You have an older relative, an uncle, who’s known to be working at the Mega Pizzaplex for years as a janitor. He hears that you just applied and got accepted to work at the same place as him. Though he gives congratulations, he also decisively advises you to be wary of the establishment, and promises to look after you. Confused, you take his words with little regard and start working soon after.

Having gained some experience as time passes, you end up visiting the Daycare more frequently, something your uncle immediately notices. To his fear, you’ve gained an amicable attachment to the Attendant. At times, the animatronic seems innocent without worry. Then there was it’s counterpart which watches over the children they’re putting to sleep making you gradually endear to them. What your uncle has come to realize long since working there, were the bot’s drastic secrets of murder and violent outbursts. Particularly Sun’s.

While it’s well known amongst the employees of the Pizza Plex that many strange things happen under the company and most troubling incidents get swept under the rug shortly after they happen, there was little to no similar situations reported about the Daycare Attendant. Having been in the right place at the worst time due to his occupation, Your uncle encountered the automation’s unspeakable acts many times despite his previous motivations, complaints, and numerous reports to shut it down. Though he survives their encounters by miraculous odds, he’s had a grudge with that bot ever since and vise versa. Sun and Moon normally never take too kindly to strangers they meet outside of their territory, hence why most of their victims end up in unfortunate situations before the bot quickly covers their tracks. Way before your Uncle can obtain proper evidence.

Which is why it greatly concerned the anxious man when you continued speaking with the DA unscathed after all this time you’ve been working there. He ends up eavesdropping nearby your department for your safety and quickly discovers the animatronic’s true intentions with you. They were completely obsessed with you at an unhinged, volatile state. They secretively push other people out of their way with smooth unseen tactics if the individuals in question hurt their chances at gaining your favor, your attention, and your presence. This knowledge leads your uncle to immediately push you to quit your job with little luck and major offense on your part. This divide quickly causes you to seek comfort from a supportive Sun and Moon that slowly makes you end up falling for them as more time passes, the robotic pair quickly realizes this and act fast to claim your affections the coming week.

Cautious and remorseful, Your uncle eventually comes by at the front doors of the daycare to apologize for his abrupt actions until he stops dead in his tracks at the sight before him. You were in the Sun animatronic’s embrace half-blinded and prepared to give yourself to the smug looking character. Sun appeared cocky and unsurprised at your relative’s arrival. You seemed distracted and fazed by the jester’s attempt at reciprocation. and your uncle, for the first time since working there, noticed the insidious purple in the bot’s eyes, the scattered remnants of dried blood coating the yellow hands “lovingly” caressing your face, and felt pure, unadulterated fear for the future of what’s to come.

Billy would be a yandere that's slow to develop his obsession.

He doesn't fall for just anyone.

His darling would have to be a part of The Boys for him to consider it.

Billy is still obsessed with Becca for most of the show, up until about the end of season 2.

His darling could be close to him for most of the time... but a romantic obsession does not happen until after Becca's death.

Billy is very closed off emotionally.

When you do join The Boys to help them take on Vought he isn't very expressive.

He keeps to himself even if you try to talk with him.

Although, once Billy warms up to you, he'd start as a platonic yandere.

Billy seems like he'd be Obsessive, Aggressive, Overprotective, and Threatening/Manipulative as a yandere.

Becca herself has said that he has always been violent.

Never towards those he loves, but towards others.

You've even seen him slap around The Boys a few times if they piss him off.

Never you... yet you also know better than to set him off.

For the most part you probably don't know of Billy's obsession.

He's so closed off that even when he does care for you it's hard to tell.

Billy shows care for you in small amounts.

He's fighting the idea of being attached in case he has to sacrifice himself...

Yet you, Hughie, and the rest of the team wormed their way into his heart somehow.

When Billy wants to be, he's bold and direct.

If he's warmed up to you enough then he'll express it.

It's surprising when he pulls you aside... telling you how he appreciates what you do to help him fight Vought and find Becca.

You can tell he cares for you in his own way.

To the point he may even pat your back or something if he wants to show affection.

Don't expect a lot of affection from him... maybe sometime in the past... but not now.

Billy does show he's overprotective.

Violence is in his nature... he doesn't mind beating someone, Supe or not, if you were threatened.

He's the same for the rest of the team...

Yet strangely more attentive when it comes to you.

Billy may not show it well, though he does care for you.

Deeply, too... which he hopes won't be a distraction.

When you help him find Becca with The Boys, he's grateful.

He still loves his wife and sees you as a close friend, similar to Hughie.

It actually makes you happy when he reunites with her... even if he hates Ryan.

Billy would stay as a platonic yandere until Becca's death at the hands of Ryan (which was an accident).

Billy is a yandere who slowly would develop tendencies towards you throughout the show.

He's that slow with his obsession... which makes it a bit difficult to convey.

Billy still wouldn't form romantic feelings until much later.

You offer your comfort to him after Becca's death... yet he needs time to grieve.

Billy is not a vulnerable man.

Despite this... he accepts your attempts to help him.

Billy's obsession then shifts into being more overprotective.

Becca's death affects his behavior.

Deep down he's scared to lose those close to him....

Everyone... including you... could be torn from him by Supes.

Hughie knows this... Billy knows this... surely you understand how Billy feels a little?

This world is unfair... his obsession transitions to an attempt to keep you safe.

He may never truly get over his grief... he still wants to avenge Becca.

Although... feelings for you start to form slowly.

The reason he's overprotective is to not only keep you safe... but because he feels something towards you.

It's going to take awhile with a lot of hardship with this battle against Vought... but Billy's feelings will be shown at some point.

For the most part he hides them.

They honestly don't feel right to him....

Although when he wants to reveal them, he's bold with it.

He says he cares for you in typical Billy fashion, maybe even getting more physically affectionate than usual.

Hughie's moved on... Billy never thought he would either, yet here he is.

By this point his obsession has truly moved over to romantic feelings.

This is when we can properly discuss his yandere behavior.

If Billy successfully starts a relationship with you or not doesn't matter too much.

As yanderes are... he may be determined and persistent with his goal.

Just like how he was when it came to finding Becca... Billy is obsessive and determined towards a goal.

When platonic, that goal would be protecting you.

When romantic, that goal is to be your partner and be the best for you.

Even if he is a broken man.

He's still an aggressive and overprotective yandere.

He comes off as rough at times even when he cares for you.

His aggression is usually directed towards Supes or anyone he doesn't trust.

Billy would murder, he does it in the show, that obviously means he'd do it here.

He's brutal with it and tends to be driven by strong emotions of rage or jealousy.

You've seen a lot when being part of The Boys... you may even be used to it.

Billy can kidnap but he wouldn't if you were part of The Boys anyway.

Unless you tried to leave... then he would.

Billy comes off as threatening which makes him manipulative.

He's strong, even more so with temporary Supe powers.

He scares you sometimes even if he doesn't intend to.

Billy can be charismatic, too, which means he can make others listen to him.

Billy never wants to hurt you.

He tries to be affectionate and more open with you in private.

He loves you... even if he struggles to show it.

Overall, Billy is a slow yandere to obsess over a darling. He's overprotective and would do anything to keep his darling safe.

Billy may be cruel at times... but the world is crueler.

Note: Thank you very much, anon! I knew someone would request him. I thought some people may request him at the same time, and multiple people did. But I didn't expect it to be literally the first one. I find it amusing how y'all scramble for the soft yan Vil content. Whenever I drop the slightest mention of soft yan Vil, I just imagine y'all like this. And I’m thinking to myself, you know what? Let’s just do one with the whole alphabet. I know some people follow me just because of how I write this guy. So here you go. Go crazy. 

Letters: A - Z

➸ Affection. How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

     ➳ Vil once said he despises those who spoil others. Well... he's guilty of just that. Although he doesn't exactly refer to it as "spoiling" you. To him, he's simply rewarding you for being such a lovely darling (pretty much rewarding you for being yourself and giving him attention). It's safe to say that gift giving is his love language. Even if he appears cold and aloof, especially to others (never to you), he showers you with gifts galore. Examples: Oh? You liked that drink you tried? Well, it's healthy, so he'll order a dozen more to take home for you later. That plushie or other obscure item you were eyeing? It ends up in your room. Those shoes you wanted a few months ago but never told him until now? Consider them yours, and in multiple colors!

     ➳ Of course, he also displays physical affection, but it's largely behind closed doors. Honestly, sometimes you prefer being in public because you have some breathing room. You've spent so much time around Vil that you can tell when he's yearning for some love. When his grip tightens around your hand, when he's glancing at you more often, when his arm around your waist is guiding you towards a private room, these are all signs that he’s needy for some attention. And you know that as soon as those doors close, leaving only you and him, there’s no getting him off you. That’s when his elegant and refined composure crumbles as he becomes clingy and over affectionate, peppering kisses all over your face, leaning incredibly close so your bodies are practically against each other, and if you give him a smooch back or compliment/praise him? Good luck getting him off you for the next few hours. 

➸ Blood. How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

    ➳ Not at all really, he has his own way of handling troublesome matters. But of course, never handling them within his darling’s sight. In fact, he will never get his hands dirty, because it simply isn’t necessary when he has other methods. But that isn’t to say he wouldn’t get messy if he absolutely had to. It’s just that his other ways are so much more effective. 

   ➳ That director that made a snide remark about you? Vil is threatening the company in charge of the film to fire that insolent old man or else he will refuse to play any part in the film. That director quickly loses his credibility and this major job, since the company can’t risk losing the Vil Schoenheit. A jealous woman working in the makeup department keeps glaring at you and not-so-subtly trying to make a move on him? He’s demanding a new makeup artist, all the while making such venomous insults towards the woman so she was on the verge of tears. One of the security guards he hired for your safety is getting too close to comfort, hm? Where did he go, you ask? Don’t worry your pretty little head about that. He will not be bothering you ever again. 

➸ Cruelty. How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them? 

   ➳ I’d like to think that Vil wouldn’t really kidnap his darling. It’s more like he’s holding them against their will. Or is it against their will? When you stay at his family’s home, he keeps convincing you to stay for longer each time you even think of leaving. Oh no, he won’t mock you at all. In fact, if you even attempt to leave, he’s very upset. Paired with the reasons and excuses he gives each time you make an attempt, not to mention how loving he is and how much he spoils you, it’s hard to actual step through the doors.

  ➳ You want to go visit your silly friends in the Queendom of Roses? He’ll just invite them here so you won’t have to go. You’re thinking of returning to the Ramshackle dorm? Perish the thought. That old crow will run you ragged in exchange for you to stay in that old dorm. Just stay here, is that so much to ask for? 

➸ Darling. Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will? 

   ➳ That depends. Does changing your mind beforehand count? Vil is nothing but gentle and patient with you. He’ll ease you into things you might’ve not liked before (here) such as heels or makeup or other things. He’ll ease you more into healthy meals, exercising with him, etcetera. So it’s actually very difficult to find something he would do against your will, since he manages to ease you or convince you in nearly all things. However, if there’s something you’re adamantly against, then he won’t force you. After all, your happiness is extremely important to him. 

➸ Exposed. How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling? 

   ➳ Almost his entire heart is bared to you. Everyday when you’re alone with him, you see a side of Vil Schoenheit that the world has never seen before. Only you see this vulnerable side of him. Everyone sees Vil as someone that’s nearly the embodiment of perfection. He’s elegant, he’s intelligent, he’s beautiful. Yet he seems too perfect to even approach with his cold exterior, his regal mannerisms, and his strict code. He radiates confidence, he’s like the rarest diamond. But only you see him at his lows and his highs. When he’s crying and has mascara running down his face, when he’s initiating intimate moments with you, when he’s so happy that he’s squealing! Only you see these parts of him. But keep in mind, in the beginning I said he bares almost his entire heart to you. There’s a small part of himself that he tucks away, afraid that you will never consider him truly perfect enough for you.  

➸ Fight. How would they feel if their darling fought back? 

  ➳ Absolutely heartbroken. I imagine that you finally realize what he’s doing, you finally see that he’s being manipulative in some ways, you notice that he’s hurting others just to keep you happy and comfortable, and that is genuinely unhealthy in many aspects. When you not only begin to avoid his affections but also confront him, he feels his heart stop. This was it. The moment he always feared. You thought he was inadequate. He had not yet achieved perfection. He wasn’t good enough for you, he never was–– Did you think he was ugly? Do you find his actions disgusting? Why are you looking at him like that?! All his confidence shatters as he feels empty. If you didn’t want him, if he wasn’t good enough for you, then what now? He can’t be without you, he refuses to––! Ah... then he’ll just have to work harder so you won’t reject him again. He’ll polish himself to a brilliant shine, he’ll improve himself, all for you. 

➸ Game. Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape? 

  ➳ It isn’t a game to him. These are important matters to him! He doesn’t enjoy seeing you try to leave at all! Each time you mention leaving, he immediately begins to worry as he gives you a reason to stay. Each time you even consider leaving, he’s immediately questioning where we went wrong. Was it something he said? Something he did? He carefully reflects on everything he did the last few days that could’ve potentially prompted you to consider leaving, and he immediately corrects himself. All your attempts to leave are blocked by him as he gives you reasons and excuses as to why you should stay. 

➸ Hell. What would be their darling’s worst experience with them? 

  ➳ Maybe you might find his clinginess and affection annoying and suffocating at some point. But perhaps the worst experience is not even something that happened directly to you. If you linger or hide, you might be able to eavesdrop on Vil as he snaps–– with a matter related to you. Most likely more jealous fans, or rude employers or assistants, something happened and they insulted you. 

  ➳ You hid in a closet of a room where the only other person in the vicinity was Vil. You didn’t mean to hide, you just happened to be in the closet when he came in and slammed the door harshly behind him. He was pacing, struggling to keep his breath even as he dials a number on his phone. You don’t know who exactly he’s talking to on the phone, but it has to be a higher up. It’s scary because you’ve never seen this side of Vil so extreme. He was angry, practically yelling at the person on the other end of the line. He was seething the most vile insults about the one who offended you, he wanted them ruined, and he would not stop until they regret what they did to you. It could even be an offhand remark that didn’t mean much but that made you uncomfortable, it doesn’t matter. They still offended you. It was frightening to see the sweet and loving Vil you knew was actually doing things like this behind your back, and it was unnerving to see how enraged he got because of a simple offense. 

➸ Ideals. What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling? 

   ➳ At least once he would love to act in a movie with you. A romantic lovely movie. He doesn’t care about the ratings, or the other cast, all he cares about is making this film with you. Dancing in the rain, creating those cheesy romantic scenes, sharing a kiss or two, things like that. Perhaps later on he would like to be a father, but at the same time he also wouldn’t mind if it were only him and you. All he wants is for you to spare him attention and affection. Is he not number one on your list? 

    ➳ Oh, but if you became a director, or makeup artist, or anything along those lines, he’ll request you work with him at every job. Wherever he goes, he wants to go with you beside him. Being a top power couple in Twisted Wonderland’s version of Hollywood doesn’t sound so bad, does it~? 

➸ Jealousy. Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?

   ➳ Yes, Vil gets very jealous but he manages to keep it under wraps all the time. At least until you’re alone, then his need for affection is much worse. However, your affection is how he reassures himself that you chose him. It’s how he copes. The worst you’ve seen him is when the actor and model Neige happened to be at the same photoshoot one day. As Neige kindly introduced himself to you, eager to meet his dear friend Vil’s significant other, you noticed the said blonde behind the young man. His eye twitched in annoyance, his sharp painted nails dug into the cloth of his sides as he resisted the temptation to practically strangle the angelic young man, but he doesn’t lash out. Surprisingly. Although later on when alone with you, Vil does need a lot more reassurance that you still prefer him over Neige. 

➸ Kisses. How do they act around or with their darling? 

   ➳ Sweet and loving. Most of the time he’d appear so normal, that it would be very difficult to ever imagine that his sanity practically depended on your approval/opinion of him. We’ve already talked about how he’s like in private, but let’s talk about in public now. In the public eye, he does keep up appearance. Remaining composed, regal, etcetera, just like normal. Except it’s normal to see him standing very close to you, right beside you, with an arm around your waist or your arm interlocked with his. And his smiles are a lot more common. As long as you’re around and you’re treated well, he’ll be in a good mood. Which is why his manager begs you to come with him every time he’s taking a job. You don’t know how much trouble you save her from. 

➸ Love letters. How would they go about courting or approaching their darling? 

   ➳ As mentioned once before, Vil actually greatly wishes that he was the one confessed to. Not the other way around. Putting more effort into his makeup, spraying on perfume you liked, wearing additional accessories he knows are to your liking. He makes little changes in his appearance just to appeal to you more. Now at first he isn’t overly kind, he wouldn’t wish to creep you out. But he isn’t as cold as he normally can be. Meeting him is always a delight. This good impression is how he lures you closer. I’ve sort of gone over already how it might go if he were forced to do the confessing (and eventually get rejected) here. However, for the sake of more content, let’s consider the situation if you were to actually confess to him (because you didn’t know he was so obsessed with you). Yes, he gracefully accepts your confession with a sweet smile and warm blush on his cheeks. Then, he gifts you a gentle kiss on your forehead. But in private when he’s finally alone after the confession? Oh boy. He’s so overjoyed that he’s squealing/shrieking(?) and throwing himself backwards onto his bed as he clutches the flowers you gave him to his heart. 

➸ Mask. Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else? 

   ➳ Yes. There are some things that he does or says that he isn’t completely content with. And additionally, let’s remember that he does become quite easy to anger whenever his sweet darling isn’t there to put him in a good mood. Why do you think his manager always pleads with you to come? Not to mention, the way he treats those that disrespect you, especially when you’re not looking, is downright vile. Vil does not want you to see this ugly side of him, so he does hide it. 

➸ Naughty. How would they punish their darling? 

   ➳ Him? Punish you? No, never! Vil wouldn’t dare! 

➸ Oppression. How many rights would they take away from their darling? 

    ➳ None really. As stated before, Vil greatly prioritizes your happiness. Taking away your rights and freedoms would only lead to disaster, he knows that. Besides, he wishes for you to come to love him more and more by your own devices. Not by punishments that include stripping you of your rights. The most he’ll do, again as mentioned before, is restrict your freedom by persuasion just because he wants you to live in the same space as him. But then again, he isn’t forcing it upon you. 

➸ Patience. How patient are they with their darling? 

    ➳ If you’re already dating him, he’s very patient and gentle with you. However, for more of content’s sake, let’s just say you aren’t dating yet and no one has confessed yet. As the days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months, he becomes more and more impatient. Why haven’t you confessed yet? Are you hesitating for some reason? Is something wrong? Can’t you see he even wore his best lipstick today because he thought you were finally confessing?! As more and more time goes by, he seriously contemplates being the one to confess to you. Or perhaps... did you not like him in that manner at all? Despite his efforts to appeal to you more, was he not what you were looking for? The longer he goes without receiving a confession from you, the more anxious and insecure he becomes. 

➸ Quit. If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?

   ➳ It’s very unlikely you would die or escape in this situation, the most likely option seems to just leave. If you do leave, and by leave I mean not only move out of his house but also break-up with him, he’s having a complete meltdown. Yet despite all the tears and sobs, he doesn’t dare contact you yet. Your sudden choice to sever your relationship has made one thing clear: he was lacking. In Vil’s mind, the break-up was because he was lacking. The only solution seems to continue to improve himself. There is always room for improvement to get closer and closer to perfection. Although it’s much harder for him to focus on self-improvement when you’re stuck in his mind in every waking and sleeping hour. While your leave has left him in shambles, he still is determined to be better. So that soon, he can proudly approach you, he can reach out and plead ask for another chance. 

➸ Regret. Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?

   ➳ Of course not! After all, he didn’t abduct you. You came here by your own will, and you stayed with a bit of persuasion on his end. There’s no need to go. He takes such good care of you too. If you’re so set on contributing, you can work for him and earn your own keep. 

➸ Stigma. What brought about this side of them?

   ➳ Honestly, it really depends on the au. So I cannot give a definite answer to this question. 

➸ Tears. How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?

   ➳ It breaks his heart to see his dearest in this state. Yes, he knows he was not the cause, but still, he cannot help but feel as if he did something wrong. Immediately he’s dropping everything. Everything is canceled! His schedule is cleared and he’s tossing aside the items in his hands as he takes the spot beside you, comforting you and speaking to you softly, as if afraid of scaring you. Once you’ve calmed down to a degree and with your permission, he’ll hold you close in his arms. His hand is slowly moving along your head, patting it gently as he quietly hums to you. He’ll ask if you want to speak about it (heavens have mercy if some poor soul caused you to be like this). If you tell him, he’ll listen attentively without interrupting you before promising to deal with the matter personally. If you don’t want to talk about, he’ll wait and simply continue to be a comforting presence as he dabs away your tears. 

➸ Unique. Would they do anything different from the classic yandere? 

   ➳ Well, Vil is a lot softer of a yandere (the note literally has “soft yan Vil” so what did you expect?). While most yanderes would be willing to harm their darling to a degree or force them to do something against their will, Vil would never. This might be why he would be much more successful than most yanderes in securing a “happy ending” that can resemble a normal relationship with his dearest. 

➸ Vice. What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?

   ➳ There isn’t really any need for “escape.” However, in general, you can exploit two things. First off is your happiness. As we’ve established, Vil prioritizes your happiness. If you’re truly miserable about something and there’s no easing you into it, then that’s exploitable. He will always prioritize your joy above his own. Always. Secondly, another thing you can exploit is your opinion on him. If you simply voice your disapproval of something he does or says, that’s an easy weakness of his to exploit. After all, if you say something is wrong about him, then it must be true and all that’s left is to fix it.

➸ Wit’s end. Would they ever hurt their darling? 

   ➳ No! Although he may grow frustrated or angry, he will never direct those negative feelings towards you. Instead, he will deflect them towards himself or others. You will never be on the opposing end of his wrath. 

➸ Xoanon. How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?

   ➳ Oh, a lot. Your opinion of him is absolute, it is as you say. The real question is, what wouldn’t he do to win you over? He’s willing to slowly change his habits and place on a bit of an act just for your affections. Although he would greatly prefer if you loved him as he was, but that doesn’t mean he won’t change himself for you. Beauty comes in many forms. If you view beauty a certain way by looks, or mannerisms, or speech, then he wants to emulate that form of beauty. 

➸ Yearn. How long do they pine after their darling before they snap? 

   ➳ Again, he doesn’t snap. Maybe by snap here it means his patience dwindles to zero and he finally has enough of waiting so he just confesses his love to you. The most he’ll wait is about three to four months, that’s how long he’s attempted to make you fall for him.

➸ Zenith. Would they ever break their darling? 

   ➳ Can one be mentally broken by this beautiful blonde man who only wishes to spoil you and smother you in affection? This is the same man who places your happiness first. Is it really possible when he’s fretting over you constantly and always worried for your physical health, emotional health, and mental health?

My top three favorite webcomics/manwha are Killing Stalking, Bloody Sweet, and Dreaming Freedom.

I actually just started reading Dreaming Freedom a few days ago. And I'm hooked! Maybe it's just me ... but every time I look at Siyun's adorable face, I can't stop myself from imagining Yandere!Solomon (from Obey Me! obviously lol)

I am simping HARD for this man! And not just because he's beautiful... I am seriously in love with his entire personality! I tore down the red flags and raced towards Siyun without looking back lol

There's also the fact that Siyun is a lowkey(?) Yandere, which is a major selling point for me. Honestly... He reminds me of an overprotective puppy dog, which is actually a huge compliment even though it may not sound like it

Not to mention the fact that I ALWAYS have a thing for characters with tragic/sad backstories, especially characters that have white hair at one point or another (for some unknown reason... it usually just works out that way xD )

Plus Siyun says things like this :

Next : I was extremely happy to find out that Bloody Sweet is getting a physical release. And you can bet I picked up Volume One the first chance I got!

Naerim is super relatable, and Fetechou is beyond adorable. He can have my blood anytime >:3

I've only read Bloody Sweet once before online, and as far as I can recall.... Fetechou also has a very tragic past.

Then there's Killing Stalking. Not exactly a wholesome, heartwarming story by any means. It's actually loaded with plenty of potentially triggering content. But I still love it.

Killing Stalking is another manhwa that I was sooooo surprised to hear was getting a physical release. I'm all caught up (three volumes have been released so far), and I cannot wait to finally own the entire series! ^^

To be fair, I was rooting for YoonBum the entire time. I wanted the absolute best for him. I wanted him to get a happy ending. YoonBum deserved someone who could give him a stable, loving, nurturing home filled with patience, acceptance, and understanding. Someone who could shower him with positive affection, boost his confidence, and give him a sense of self worth in the best ways possible.

Sangwoo, on the other hand... I have mixed feelings about him lol

I really do feel bad for him. But thinking in a realistic sense.... Sangwoo's personality would keep me on eggshells, I don't know how I would be able to comfortably manage a situation like that.

Although, when he comes off with lines like this :

Bad enough you shatter legs, but then you have to go and mess with my heart and mind too?! 💙

Not gonna lie.... I'd rather stay with YoonBum. At least I'd be able to trust him better and rest easier near him haha xD

Anyway! Judging from my picks and these characters, can you see the overwhelming desperation that resides within me to receive any form of genuine intimacy and the crushing desire to feel truly needed due to being deprived of such things for so long? Because it's there! Just look closely and you'll definitely see it! Hahaha! Haha...ha.... T^T

You run your hands through your hair and shut your eyes tight, the quietness and stillness of your shared apartment was something to bask on before you put on a fake mask of happiness. It had been exactly two months since you found out about the birth control switch and the medaide agenda. 

In the span of those two months, you had grown more observant towards your boyfriend’s actions and you knew that it wouldn’t be anytime soon until he actually notices that you were onto him. 

You let out a shaky breath as you recollected some weird things you’ve seem to have noticed, how his brows would furrow when he’d receive a call indicating that something was up and it was serious or how you visited your ex-boss one time a week or so ago along with Kenjiro since you wanted to see how he was doing.

“...Well, he just didn’t come home and sold the place. Apparently he was in a rush to move or something because of family matters so I didn’t exactly see him.” the neighbor gossiped to you two.

“Y/N?”

You jump on your spot as you hear that dreadfully familiar voice.

“Hey,” You greet, walking up to him, you decide to do your usual hug but stop when you notice a small red stain on his necktie, the tie is dark blue and although it wasn’t obvious from afar, it definitely was up close. Your brows are furrowed together, this time in pure curiosity, “Did you get hurt? It’s unlike you to get messy.”

You notice the quick shift of attitude in his eyes, you were seemingly getting good at observing his emotions these days and it looked like he panicked for a second there.

Odd.

“A friend of mine had gotten hurt a while ago, you remember Atsumu Miya?”

A vivid image of a blonde man crossed your mind, he was another conglomerate friend of your boyfriend, another person to be weary of to add to the list, “Oh, is he alright?” you asked, trying to keep it casual as you untie his tie for him as usual.

“Yes. He’s awfully clumsy. You don’t need to worry.”

“Oh…” You mumbled, “by the way, I visited my ex-chief.”

“Ex-chief?”

“Mhm.” you hummed, “You know, my boss from before? Me and a few co-workers decided to visit him since he was a really good boss. Turns out he just left without telling anyone, poor man.”

“Sounds unpleasant. Did you know why he quit?”

“No.” You shrugged as you take the tie out and place it on the side, “He suddenly just quit his job and moved, neighbors said it was also because of family matters. It’s kinda weird because as far as we knew, he didn’t have a family.”

“Would you like me to look into it?”

You almost stiffen when he slithers his arms on your waist but you didn’t want to give away any suspicion, “No. I don’t want to pry. Hopefully he’s enjoying his retirement.” You sighed, turning towards him with a tight smile, “Now what would you like for dinner? I was thinking Mediterranean? I need to lose some weight since I’ve been feeling bloated for a while.”

He leans in for a soft kiss on your temple, “Mediterranean would be fine. Would you like anything else? We could order more.” he hummed, his lips slowly started to dangerously hover on top of yours.

“No, it’s fine.” You give him a quick peck and wiggle your way out of his arms, your stomach doesn’t feel well these days. Whenever you were near Sakusa you had the urge to throw up your innards despite having an empty stomach.

You don’t notice the dangerous gaze on your behind as you pick up the phone for your take-out.

Sakusa hasn’t felt you in a long time and it’s driving him insane, he wants to feel your heat, your body, and everything in between. He wants to fill you up and see you pregnant with his children. He wants everyone in the world to know you were his and his only.

Yet he can’t do that.

You’ve ignored his affections these past few weeks and it had been driving him insane to the point where he had to ask one of his men to put an eye on you to see if you had been cheating on him or seeing someone else.

Yet you hadn’t.

Your routine was the same old one and Sakusa is digging his nails deeply into his skin in his office one day with his tie uncharacteristically untied. Miya Atsumu sits across him, taking a sip from his flask, “Ya look like shit.” the blonde points out.

“Fuck off, Miya.”

“Heard from your cousin that you’re not getting laid by your girl these days.”

“You better be thankful that you’ve got men behind you or I’d be shooting your fucking brains out for saying that.” Sakusa spats, his dark gaze pointedly looking at the blonde across him.

“You should just find someone else then and not yer prude of a-”

“Keep telling me ideas like that and maybe I might just shoot you and chop your body up until it looks fuckin’ unrecognizable.”

Atsumu raises his hands up, signaling that he was giving up, “Gee, omi-omi. I was just giving my advise. It’s so easy to drop her.”

“I don’t want to drop what’s mine.”

“You’ve got issues.” He chuckles, “Haven’t you been switching out her pills and fucking her raw for the last couple of months? I bet yer ass you got her pregnant on that before but ya just don’t know it. Getting her pregnant would definitely secure her spot in her life. Woman’s nuthin’ without ya.”

“She’s...she’s not showing…”

“When was the last time ya two went at it?”

“Two months ago.”

“Ya poor boy.” Atsumu sighs, shaking his head, “Ya sure you don’t want to take a break from being a loyal boyfriend for one night? i bet Y/N wouldn’t notice.”

“And no one would notice if you fucking disappeared. I’ll make sure of it, now get out.”

You may not have been the sharpest tool on the shed but you know that someone’s been tailing you these past few days, you’re not stupid. You could only come to the conclusion that it was Sakusa who was doing such things but you couldn’t get why.

Something just didn’t make sense. It felt like you were missing an important piece in the puzzle, med-aide and the switch of your pills and now a hidden tail?

You furrow your brows together in deep thought  as you sat down next to a teenage boy on his phone, you decided to take the bus today to the grocery store, surprisingly the one tailing you wasn’t around today.

Your eyes slowly shift towards the boy’s phone, it seemed like he was playing a video game.

An otome game, to be exact.

You felt your lips twitch up, you remembered those games a lot growing up. The graphics seem to have massively improved now by the looks of it, “...That looks interesting.” You tell the teenage boy who turns to you in surprise.

“Oh, thanks.” the blonde replied quietly.

“Is that a new otome game?”

“Kind of.” He blinks, his gaze returning back to the screen,  “It’s sort of a remake of the yandere simulator from back then.”

You feel your shoulders tense up.

“A yandere?”

“Yeah.” The blonde nods, “The girl’s awfully creepy in the game, she stalks him, does things to get him. The player has to catch her in the act and evade her at the same time.”

“Oh…” You blink, “I-uh, this is weird… but what’s a yandere again?’

“It’s someone obsessively in love with you. They’ll do anything to have you stay by them.” He says, pushing on a button but suddenly the screen turns red and you feel shivers run down your spine as you hear him curse and the words ‘you’re caught’ appear on the screen.

“W-what happened to your character?”

“He died. Nothing much.” he mumbles, “If the Yandere knows they can’t have you, they’ll kill you.”

You immediately went pale as soon as you heard that. Maybe, just maybe you were being paranoid. He wouldn’t go to that extent, would he?

“How did your character escape the yandere in the game?” 

“Well, I haven’t finished the game yet but based on some anime’s and manga’s I've usually read. They either killed to get away or they moved so far away where they wouldn’t be seen so I think the creator might have the same ending.” The blonde said, he slowly looked to your side, “You’re looking awfully pale, ma’am. Are you alright?”

“Yeah, j-just remembered a horrible game I played back when I was your age.” You gulped in, “Nightmares, you know? The yandere tried to get my character pregnant and tried to get in her way of moving out of the country.”

“Sounds like a very realistic one.”  He mumbles, “What did your character do?”

“I wasn’t able to finish it.” you whispered, loud enough for him to only hear, “I couldn’t really find a way out.”

“The developers of the game must’ve made it hard for you. Maybe your character should’ve ran away,” he advised, “Or better yet, you should’ve killed him.”

“I-well, I don't think there were options like that.”

“Well if I were you and there was no option for killing, I’d run. Far, far away. Change my identity and all that.” he exits the game and stuffs the phone back in his pocket, you get a good look of his cat-like eyes and immediately feel a shiver on your spine with the next words he say, “I mean its a game but you wouldn’t wanna loose and get your character killed, right?”

“R-right.”

The teenage boy hops down without even saying goodbye and you have a scary realization that you can’t break it off like you originally had planned. You needed to run, run far as you can and get lost.

The words that the teenage boy says echoes in your head for the next few days, from that point on, realization dawns upon you that, nothing is certain now. You couldn’t trust anyone, you couldn’t let friends and family be involved in this. Sakusa Kiyoomi is a powerful man so you needed to be careful with how you were going to disappear.

You continue to act nonchalant and the same as you try to lay out your plan but you knew that you had only a week or so to complete this for it to successfully work.

Sakusa Kiyoomi wonders what he should do to save the relationship, he’s tried everything in the book that he could think of but you remained the same. Was this the end of the relationship? For real?

He could never stomach the idea of having you leave him.

It’s eerie that day, something felt different when he came home to an empty apartment. It looked the same yet something felt very, very different. Apparently the apartment guards said you were here since your car hadn’t left the driveway and they hadn’t seen you go out.

He checks out your side of the closet, your clothes remain there untouched and your toiletries were there too. He scans the fridge for your notes but nothing is stuck there. He suddenly feels like something cold was dumped on him.

It couldn’t be, right?

Right?

He runs to every room, checking every nook and cranny and when he finally reaches the last room which was the bathroom, nothing is there.

Everything was in its place except you.

Where were you?

Your bank account remains untouched, your wallet and phone was left in the apartment. It was as if you were returning home, the very least. Komori tells him to calm down, saying that they’re letting the best people find you around the city, they don’t rule out that someone might’ve had the audacity to touch you.

Whoever took you would be given hell to pay, that’s for sure. Was it the triad? Kkangpae’s? Or opposing yakuza’s? Oh, they’ll definitely have their heads on the platter if they tried to harm a single hair on your head.

Sakusa doesn’t even hesitate to notify the police about you already despite the memorandum that twenty-four hours is needed to consider a person missing, it's nothing a little money can fix.

“I hope we find her soon.” Your aunt sighed, “I’ve notified her parents about it. It’s definitely weird that she’d leave all her valuables behind.”

Hinata and Natsu sit there next to their mom, completely sad and worried, “I’ve hired the best people for it already, obaasan. We’ll find Y/N.” Sakusa replies yet his thoughts are in a complete frenzy now.

And find you they did.

No stone was left unturned. He made sure of it. Yet after a month of relentless searching. Nothing came up, it seemed like you had just vanished and Sakusa Kiyoomi had turned the whole underground world upside down for you but nothing came up.

Some say that you disappeared and ran away but that was immediately ruled out, no security cameras saw you in and out during that day and it would be impossible for you to just leave without security cameras on you. The guard had exclaimed that despite the blackout that day, the generators only took a few minutes to power up so they’d definitely catch you on camera in case you ever exited the building (along with the guards since they knew exactly what you looked liked) plus the clothes and such were still there, left untouched.

Some said you died, it was definitely impossible for you to just vanish without a single trace after all since everyone was looking for you.

Yet no one dared to say it in front of the boss, not if they valued their life.

The billionaire had dried out his connections to find you. What good was it to be the most powerful and richest man in the country if he couldn’t find you? Life had no meaning now, you were gone. It felt like a part of him was ceasing to function.

Sakusa Kiyoomi was a dead man walking now.

Unknown to the whole world, you’re in a small town with little to no signal. Your hair is chopped unevenly and your skin is darker from the repeated exposure under the sun, your life is simple and mundane now yet you’re happy.

For the first time in months, you actually felt free.

You shut your eyes tight, the events that transpired this past few months replayed  in your head. Your escape was definitely done as carefully as you can and you didn’t even know if you’d succeed since you weren’t a master in that sort of thing.

You recalled that it was a week before you ran away, a few days after you met that kid in the bus. Someone from the electric company had come to inform you that there was a scheduled black out in the city that day during the afternoon and you felt something bubble up in you. That was the day you’d put your plan into motion.

You knew that the longer you delayed your plan, the harder it would be to escape.

You had a few minutes to actually put your plan to work. The camera’s on the hallways would cease to function for a few minutes according to the guard downstairs as he did a protocol on the building (apparently the generators were quick). So that morning after Sakusa left, you placed only a few clothes and the stash of money you had been carefully hiding in a garbage bag and chopped your hair short in an uneven manner. Burning all the remaining hair on the fireplace and the black hair color that you use with it. The maid uniform that you stole on your floor and a fake name plate that you made was on and you were good to go.

The minute the black out started, you took the garbage bag and walked out. Taking the stairway used by the caretakers, you made sure to just look down and never directly up at the camera’s pretending to work.

When you finally made it out of your building. You let out a stiff sigh and put down the bag, it was only the beginning. If you thought the same way as Sakusa Kiyoomi, you could only imagine that you needed to be more careful from this point on.

You take the newly bought duffel bag that you strategically hid behind some boxes. Thankfully when you had placed it yesterday afternoon, it hadn’t been touched. 

You put on a pair of shorts and a baggy shirt with cheap shades and stuffed the maid uniform in the duffel bag along with your belongings in the garbage bag. You take the other route that led to the busy streets. It was easy to look like a tourist and seemingly blend in the crowd, from that point on, you only had one destination in mind.

When you were younger, you vividly remember an acquaintance telling you about this small town outside of Tokyo where her grandparents were from. It was only an hour away via plane and when you went down another few hours via bus yet if you took the bus route all in all, it would take a few days.

Since it was far, only a few busses actually went there and since you had to leave within the day, you decided to just take the bus nearest to that town and take another bus when you arrived there.

The plan smooth-sailed from that point on.

Except for one minor detail.

You open your eyes and look down at your now small bump. The monster who almost had you trapped left a parting gift, you grip your garden hoe tightly.

A big part of you wanted to kill it.

Yet every time you try to, you hesitate.

The moment you arrived here, you had to pretend to be a weary and poor widow. You just didn’t expect to be a weary and poor expecting widow. You let out an uncharted sigh at the thought, it was hard enough to be alone here with little to no money. 

This child had the demon’s blood in it.

Yes, you may have gone free from his cage but in truth with his seed growing in your stomach day by day, you started to feel quite the opposite.

TenMiko isn’t canon dumbass. Himiko’s feelings were out of regret on treating Tenko terribly. Not because she’s in with her. Not to mention Himiko’s canonical straight, she fantasizes herself being surrounded by men, blushes when Kokichi flirts with her and flirts with Shuichi. She shows no reaction when a girl compliments her. If you want Tenko to be happy, ship her with someone who she naturally develops a relationship, not forced herself. Don’t treat survivor’s guilt as romantic feelings.

Now it’s pretty rare that I get comments like this. I was honest to god a little confused when this arrived in my message box out of nowhere, but while I really would rather just ignore this, I cannot let this comment stand. At no point did I ever say that Himiko’s feelings were survivors guilt. At no point did I say the two of them were canonically in love. All I did was talk about what it would be like if they WERE romatically involved. However, this anon here seems to think shipping Tenmiko is completely impossible, and that you’re only allowed to ship a ship that is canon. Is that true? Far from it, obviously. About 95% of Danganronpa ships aren’t canon. About 95% of ships from any series aren’t canon. However, it seems you don’t understand my reasonings for enjoying a ship such as this one that really deserves to be enjoyed. So while I wouldn’t want to do this, you’ve forced my hand, so let me tell you

Why Tenmiko is a valid ship

To start off with, let’s get one thing out of the way. I can totally understand not shipping these two. Tenko’s strong feelings to Himiko are mostly one-sided, and she gets way too attached to the point where she’s a creep. Also, for a large chunk of the game, Himiko seems to like Angie a little more. However, Tenko’s obsessiveness is all just to make Himiko impressed, because she admires her and wants her to notice, and Himiko is VERY obviously upset when Tenko dies. Also, while some may say that Himiko hated Tenko, I don’t believe that for one second. I think Himiko really DID care for Tenko. I know it seems a little weird that she only realised how much happiness Tenko gave her AFTER she died, but personally, I get the feeling that Himiko always valued Tenko's company and simply didn't realise it. In fact, I've been through something similar in my life. I have a close friend, who initially tried to insert himself into my friend group on his own, and at the beginning, he annoyed us and most of us rejected him. I look back and realise that that person was about 80% of the happiness in my life by that point, and somehow he's still one of my best friends today. I can never forgive myself for treating him the way I did, and I'm pretty sure Himiko felt the same. What I'm saying is, on a spiritual level, I understand Himiko's complex emotions in this chapter, and I feel that she is redeemable, which I will stand by. This does not mean I’m translating it as a romantic attraction. Don’t you dare say I’m treating someone’s death as a romantic subplot, because that’s not the case. Also, Himiko’s canonically straight and Tenko...I think is Bi at least? But tell me this anon? Give me one good reason why I should give a fuck? Hajime Hinata seems to be canonically straight, particularly during Chiaki’s FTE’s, when she falls on him, he specifically states that his heart starts beating really loud. But is Hinanami the biggest ship involving Hajime? No! Komahina is! Shuichi and Kaede have a lot of romantic chemistry during the first few chapters. Are they a huge ship? No! Not as big as Oumasai! A ship and a character’s sexuality doesn’t have to come into play AT ALL when it comes to shipping. If you seriously think that, then you’re clearly new to how ships work. The very idea of shipping is that you take two (or more) characters, that can be of any gender, age, race, or even franchise (Nagito X Sans) as an example and pair them together romantically. THAT’S how ships work!

Also, I know they don’t outright say it, but the Anon who sent this to me specifically says that “Himiko blushes when Kokichi compliments her” or something, so in a way, are you trying to say that Oumeno is a more wholesome ship than Tenmiko? I’m sorry but...there’s literally only one way I can describe that. Complete and utter bullshit! To start off with, the only reason that happened is because they needed a bit of comedy, and Himiko is kind of the one comedic character that makes it this far. In general, and I’m not here to knock on Oumeno or anything, but Kokichi and Himiko’s relationship is probably the MOST toxic relationship Himiko has. There are only two big moments these two have together that could mean anything. One is the one I just mentioned, with that stupid “Maybe you like me?” joke in Chapter 5, and the other is how he tells her not to lie to herself and let her emotions out at the end of the Third Case. Generally though, Himiko dislikes Kokichi, like most of the other killing game participants do. Not only that, but in the very least, Tenko never bullied Himiko. There’s a point where Kokichi insults Himiko for having a flat chest, which is an insult I think that is SO dated, but this is not the setup for a healthy relationship. Tenmiko is genuinely a much more healthy relationship, even if it’s not romantic. On top of that, it is never ever confirmed if Kokichi actually said that. It was KAITO in the exisal at the time, so HE’S the one who said that. Whether it was part of Kokichi’s script or if he adlibbed it, since he states he had to adlib some parts, it is never known.

The big issue many people focus on is Tenko’s obsession with Himiko, but when it comes to knocking on this ship, that is literally all people focus on, because they don’t want to admit that is literally the only major thing that is anything close to wrong with it. I honestly think this is just biased. Himiko and Tenko actually have a pretty strong, solid and healthy relationship for the most part, and most people just don’t seem to understand that. In Kaede’s FTE’s with Tenko in the first chapter, she states her attraction towards Himiko is because she admires how she’s a showperson as well as how she has a thing for magical girls. Alongside that, she says that she loves small cute things, and that is exactly what Himiko is. Tenko does not obsess over Himiko, more than she obsesses over how small and cute she finds her. I guess you could say she’s a lolicon in a way, but let’s just...not talk about that. People say that Tenko’s obsession becomes borderline creepy and stalkerish, and while I understand that, I think I should remind everyone what “obsession” actually means. “An obsession” is to be in the state of being obsessed with someone or something. I could say this much that most people love the people in their family, and they have pretty happy and healthy relationships with them and spend a lot of time with them. This. THIS is an obsession. If you think obsessions to people are unhealthy, then that means your relationship with your whole family is unhealthy, in spite of how happy you are. Before anyone outright says that obsessions and love are different, I KNOW! Tenko isn’t a fucking yandere! People think obsessions to people are bad because of yandere tropes, but it can actually come in many different forms, and genuine care and affection is one of them, which is exactly what Tenko tries to show Himiko.

When Tenko and Himiko first met, I don’t doubt Himiko was scared and a bit weirded out by her, but Tenko was nice and encouraged her, and I think Himiko took it the wrong way. Himiko isn’t the type of person to avoid girls so much as she’s the type of person to avoid people in general. She was bullied in her old school, and I think the immense encouragement and support of Tenko would be a bit of new ground for her. As of such, she probably just thought Tenko was strange, because all of this were strange things to her. Himiko pushes Tenko away frustratingly because she thinks she’s simply trying to manipulate her, but the irony is that in the process of trying to avoid being manipulated by Tenko, she basically gets brainwashed by Angie. When ANGIE dies though, Himiko seems to realise what’s actually happened since then, and she realizes that because of all that happened, Tenko didn’t get any of the affection that she was genuinely trying to put on Himiko. When Tenko dies immediately after, Himiko is the first to lift the cage and calls out her name in panic, realizing that Tenko’s affection was not only genuine, but also returned, and she never ever got a chance to thank her for trying to make her a better person. And I genuinely believe that Himiko and Tenko make each other better people for sure!

As for any other reasons why I ship these two, I think their parallels are really interesting. To start off with, their general colorization is a frequently used parallels for duos. Himiko has a red skirt and red hair, as well as a red underside to her cape in her promo art, and Tenko’s outfit has a particularly outstanding blue theme to it. Another parallel, and I actually found this out while browsing, is that Hat’s and Headbands are parallels of each other, and each of them wear one (Himiko’s wizard hat and Tenko’s pinwheel headband) Lastly, there’s the contrast in personality, and this is the main reason why I ship these two. I love it when two people can have romantic attraction despite being almost opposite in nature, because their two personalities can collide, and it makes each of them better people. This is not only the case for Tenmiko, but also the case for Shuichi and Kaede, and also Kaito and Maki, AKA two ships that are basically canon (for the most part) so I really don’t see why Tenmiko’s lack on canonicity makes it a bad ship anymore, when it’s basically the same dynamic as these two. Tenko is quick, energetic and aggressive, while Himiko is slow, lazy and weak willed for a big part of the game, and I think these two counteract each other pretty well. It’s not the greatest group of parallels, but in this case, I think the opposites certainly do attract.

Tenmiko is a healthy, strong, fun and valid ship, and there is nothing you can do to change my mind. I will be supportive of this ship for a very long time from now.

Wanted to hear you go on about child yandere. more types of love than romantic. the your my friend or your going to take care of me and me you is scary in a different way. smart kids can more easily manipulate the victim and others emotionally.

Child yanderes huh? Admittedly, that’s a topic I never really think about a lot.  The wording here was a little strange, but I’m taking this as pretty much a “free rein” question.

To be perfectly upfront here, I don’t focus on child yanderes a lot with the media I consume. That doesn’t mean I don’t come across any.  In fact, in may just be a case where I’m not even considering “this is a child yandere” when technically yes they are.  I guess it depends on what age range you think of when you hear the word “child” to begin with.  For me, that makes me think elementary school and maybe even middle school.  High school I would rather say “kids” if that’s a step up in anyway?

If you consider anyone who is a minor (under the age of 18) a child, then yeah there’s a lot of child yanderes I’ve seen.  Lots of media I’ve read or watched focus on a cast of characters in high school for instance, or sometime middle school age.  I don’t think I’ve read or watched something with a yandere where the cast is strictly elementary school age.  Would I even really enjoy that?  To be honest, elementary school (and sometimes even middle school) romances for me might sound cute, but I hardly take them seriously.  There’s a lot of yanderes who met their S/O in elementary school in the story I’m sure, but that’s usually a past element and the story is focusing on the characters when they’re older.

For the sake of this post, I’ll just assume anyone who is under the age of 18 may count as a child yandere.

Can a child be a yandere?  Of course they can.  They just have to have intense feelings of love that are overwhelming towards another individual, often leading to obsessive and/or possessive behavior.

If you’re the type that believes in “platonic yanderes,” the most common obsessions here would be like the best friend kind (like you stated anon), sibling or parental figure.  In cases like these, I know for a fact I’ve seen some stories where the character is just severely deprived of safe and affectionate love in general.  Their relationships at home either aren’t stellar, or the character doesn’t have anyone period.  They child may have faced abuse or neglect, or they may simply be an orphan.  There’s no desire for sexual or romantic connection here.  The character rather just wants companionship and sometimes a caretaker.  Depending on the backstory given, you can feel kind of sad for these characters since they just don’t want to be alone.  They may also have a tendency to latch onto someone who fits an “ideal” of theirs.  Like the other person seems like the best role model for a friend/sibling/parental figure they always wanted.

If you’re like me though and are more focused on straight up “romantic yanderes,” yes a child can still develop these intense feelings.  In fact, it’s very common for a person in their younger years to grow easily infatuated with someone else, obsess over having a relationship and fumble with healthy dating behavior.  Pretty understandable because when you’re young, you’re just figuring things out. Lots of people have getting married as a main goal in life, so figuring out relationships early on is a benefit sometimes.  You’ve got other things affecting your goal like your social environment and puberty (you know what I mean).  I just stated the obvious here but oh well.  So yeah, a child yandere could fall in love with someone around their age, but they could also develop feelings for someone older.  Usually with the latter, it’s just innocent crushes that blossom from getting attention from someone they view as much more mature than their peers. Plenty of people will probably say, “I had the biggest crush on my third grade teacher” for instance or something like that.  They’re mostly harmless and will fade away in normal cases.  By the way, just because a kid CAN develop a crush on an older individual, that is NOT permission to pursue a relationship with them -_-.  Sorry for that interruption, but I don’t want people to misinterpret what I’m saying here.

Now if the child yandere in question is part of a cast that’s around the same age as them, including their S/O…I just kind of treat them like any other yandere.  No special feelings really towards the character more of less because the setting allows me to just focus on the relationships and not really the ages.  Especially with anime and manga where like, character appearances will hardly match their age sometimes, so I halfway give up even worrying about how old these characters are to begin with.

Currently the most recent child yandere I could think of observing was Norman in the Promised Neverland parody manga, The Parodied Jokerland.  He’s very enjoyable in that and incredibly yandere.  He’s the cute kind of creepy obsessive, if that makes any sense.  In that scenario, his S/O Emma is the same age as him, and the majority of the cast are also kids.

If you have a child yandere who’s focused on an OLDER S/O though…that’s kind of difficult to ignore.

I had this very funny and sad realization:  Most of the media I’ve viewed where a child yandere is in love with an older S/O is via Lifetime movies.

Yeah…

So that gives me a more narrow view here of child yanderes if their S/O is older than them 0.o. Lifetime is basically my junk food.  It’s bad for me, but I’ll watch it occasionally when I have cable access.  Not stellar entertainment, but my god they love to run the obsessive love trope over and over again.  Believe it or not, I know I’ve seen a few variations of cases where they have a younger character desperately trying to get together with an older character. They probably have all combinations, but for some reason the one that pops into my head first is, “teenage girl wants to marry this older man who’s already married/in a relationship.”

The way most of these plots play out is something like:

1)      Kid tries to find a way to get access to S/O (ex. Class, lessons, be a friend of S/O’s kid)

2)      Kid tries to get the S/O to support them with a sad backstory and/or tries to be the “perfect helper” for the S/O

3)      Kid tries to bump off the S/O’s partner at some point (may or may not succeed)

4)      Someone dies (because it’s Lifetime and someone you honestly don’t care about has to get killed at some point just to up the ante- I have literally only ever cared about 1 person that died when watching Lifetime and I don’t think it was even an official Lifetime movie)

5)      Kid confesses their love for their S/O and claims they’re the best match for them

6)      S/O (unsurprisingly) shuts them down with a “No”

7)      Kid snaps and depending on how much time is left in the movie, usually a fight culminates between individuals or there’s a kidnapping or blackmailing (you get the idea)

8)      Ends with kid either getting killed or arrested (Wait do they kill the child yanderes in these movies?  I haven’t watched them all so maybe they live, I’m not sure).

So yeah that’s what this ask made me think of first, haha.  Obviously with Lifetime, pretty much all their yanderes (as low-brow as some of them are) are the antagonistic/villain kind with Yandere vs. S/O stories.  It’s no different if the yandere in the film is a child.  It’s a guaranteed that the child yandere is going to lose in these films. But quite frankly…I know a lot of people actually want the S/O to reciprocate and work with the yandere, but I think we can all agree that this particular scenario should be fine staying Yandere vs. S/O.  Because if it wasn’t, that means you’d be making…an OLDER S/O…attempt a relationship…with a minor….yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaahhhhh I don’t recommend going that route for obvious reasons.

Now are child yanderes ever really a threat? Actually yes, they can be quite dangerous.  Sure, they’re not like a high political figure or CEO like in the stories I like to read that can use their power and wealth to push the S/O into a corner or anything.  But child yanderes can become surprisingly selfish and underhanded with their tactics. One thing I notice is that they’re incredibly observant, so they know where to find items they need to use (like weapons or drugs) for a wicked task or they know what kind of people to talk to and manipulate for their own needs. While child yanderes lack a higher social and economic standing, they have their “innocence” that can often help avoid detection from the authorities when trouble arises.  The most dangerous weapon I’d say a child yandere has at their disposable would be the ability to slander someone without repercussions. Especially if they’re claiming someone else was violent with them or sexually abused them.  Why?  Because let’s be honest, lots of people would be deathly afraid of doubting a child making such accusations.  And in turn, their feelings would rise quickly and they’d turn against the accused.

Another fun Lifetime fact: Depending on the film, they always purposefully make it frustrating for the viewer when it comes to false accusations vs. real accusations.  If it’s a film where they have an actual victim speak out against their perpetrator, the circumstances will usually be set up so that most of the film cast won’t believe the victim.  On the other side, if it’s a character making a false accusation against another character, most of the film cast will side with the liar over the accused.  Because I guess Lifetime just likes to say that life is infuriating like that 0.o

Getting back on topic though, so why did I say that child yanderes can range from “frustrating to okay” for me?  Well, like I said earlier, I don’t really take a lot of young romance that seriously. Kids can also be very volatile and irrational, so you know in ADDITION to this character being a yandere, it’s going to be nearly impossible to try to talk some sense into the character that they cannot be with the S/O they desire.  It’s a doomed relationship, so I find myself either rolling my eyes at or pitying the yandere in this case.  The child yandere could be “okay” though if, well…I like their yandere actions honestly. I AM still a sucker for yanderes in general, so I’m not gonna mind if I get a nice fix of crazy in there.

This probably isn’t a stellar answer, but like I said this isn’t really a topic I think about a lot. Hope it was interesting?

A: I will fill almost any type of request! But here are some specific options with set structures and examples.

I will NOT be writing RPF or RPS. I do not approve of real person shipping and real person fiction makes me uncomfortable - if that's what you're looking for, there are a huge number of other blogs that will cater to your needs directly. Which leads me into...

Prohibited Requests, and Non-Yandere Content

Q: Will you fill every request you get?

A: I'll fill requests that interest me and that I feel comfortable posting, and that will probably be most of them! I am really excited to get started. But I still reserve the right to refuse a prompt - I'm writing for free, so no one is entitled to have their ask filled. If I choose to deny your prompt, I will answer privately and, if the issue is with content, update the blog so it's made clear that the type of prompt is not taken.

Q: What is and isn't allowed to be requested?

A: To be honest, most stuff is allowed and some stuff isn't. There's a lot of ground to cover here, so I've divided it based on the nature of the concern.

Q: Do you accept NSFW/SFW requests?

A: I'll do NS and SFW work, but I've got more experience with SFW content. This doesn't mean I do it exclusively, just that I won't think to go NS unless you mention it. Specify for NS and it'll be included happily!

Q: Do you accept violent requests?

Violence against non-SO characters and dub-con is okay always, as is situational or over-the-top violence, even murder, involving SOs (ex: "the yandere and their darling are soldiers on opposite sides of the war" or "the yandere saws off their darling's legs so they have to carry them everywhere").

However, there is some tricky area with violent fantasies. If I think the content strays too close to serious physical domestic abuse, then I'll likely deny the request. This is partially why I prefer requests that get violent to focus on non-SO targets, so if it doesn't matter to you, that's almost guaranteed to get a response.

Non-con I can mention and discuss in headcanon posts and possibly prompt lists, but I will not be writing drabbles or scenarios for non-con prompts.

Q: Do you accept kink requests?

A: It will depend on the type and whether I feel morally and psychologically comfortable with it. For example, hypnosis, size kink, gender stuffing, BDSM, roleplay, etc., are all currently accepted because they don't seem to affect me in a negative way. I am willing to do ships for cousins and step family, as well. However, I will not under any circumstances deal with r*ceplay, p*dophilia, fetishizing of trans people or people of color, or inc*stplay, and I will not be doing ship work for anyone more closely related than cousins, including but not limited to siblings, parents (blood or adopted), or aunts and uncles. None of this is negotiable. I am willing to consider AUs where two characters aren't family, or non romantic yandere behavior between family, but even then, the request's on thin ice. Anything super unhygienic or illness related is probably something I won't be interested in not as a rule or for moral reasons but just because it can exacerbate my anxiety and OCD. I also do not fill prompts related to minors at all, be it explicit/adult/sexual content or otherwise. Requests for characters who are minors will have them aged up unless otherwise specified - in which case you will promptly be blocked.

Q: Can I request a dark imagine that is not yandere related?

A: Of course! Just make sure to be specific about what you want from it.

Q: Can I request a ship or character imagine that isn't yandere or dark?

A: Yes, though I won't promise it'll be what you're looking for. I fall towards horror, thriller, and angst when I write, regardless of my intentions.

Q: Can I request something that's not ship or character imagine related?

A: Sure, I'd be honored, but again, I don't promise to fulfill every request. This blog is intended to be stress relief, self indulgence.

How to Make a Request

Q: How do I contact you for requests?

A: Asks, messages, replies on my original posts, and even more casual things like tagging me in yandere or writing related posts are all great ways to interact with me!

Q: When do you accept requests?

A: Requests will be opened or closed depending on how busy I am and whether I'm caught up on them.

Currently, requests are closed. However, I've decided that requests are reopened on my days off. The days should be listed in my bio.

Q: Do you accept anonymous requests?

A: Yes, I do! I also will not publish asks from users unless the user specifically clarifies that they are okay with it, just in case the user sent the ask from their blog on accident. User asks that aren't specified as safe to publish will be responded to privately when the request is filled.

Q: How will I know my request is filled?

A: As stated above, anonymous asks and user asks clarified as safe to publish will be published with a response. User asks without any clarification will be responded to privately. Anonymous asks asking for privacy for any reason will not be published. Messages will also get a reply. Users who send requests that are kept private will not be tagged unless you ask me to. Users with published asks will always be tagged in the final post, but it is totally okay to ask me to change or erase the tag! Other than this, checking for posts is up to the requester.

Other Kinds of Interaction

Q: Is there anyone who you don't want interacting with your blog?

A: Anyone complicit in nazism, racism, transphobia, homophobia, misogyny, xenophobia, pedophilia/MAPs, or any other politicized violence against a people is uneqivocally not welcome to engage with my work. I also have a zero tolerance policy for true crime fans who support or absolve serial killers. Please respect this - anyone who doesn't will be blocked. Anyone who pushes the issue will be reported.

Q: What about kink or otherkin blogs?

A: Honestly, I don't know much about either community. As of now, I'm fine with interaction. I'd ask that I not receive any kin related requests, because I am not familiar with the concept, community, and issues accompanying. Kinks can be requested but as stated above, are not guaranteed to be filled. Please don't bring discourse or discourse related requests here. I am not equipped to or interested in getting involved. If that changes, I have a main and other side blogs. This blog will never be a place for it.

Q: Are you okay if we interact with you or send you asks and messages that aren't requests?

A: Absolutely! I would love to talk with you. I am always interested in discussing any of the topics covered on this blog, or anything else for that matter! I pride myself on trying to be not just nice, but kind, and hopefully that comes through in every interaction. However, I'll expect the same courtesy from anyone who'd reach out to me, or use my posts to communicate to others for that matter. Anyone who doesn't will be, you guessed it, blocked. Anyone who pursues it further, yeah, will be reported.

Q: You have a lot of rules about requests and interaction, but you don't seem to post much and you aren't very active. Is this all just awkward and formal overkill, or is there a point?

A: I've explained all of this clearly, in as an accessible way as I can think of, because I want to eliminate the potential for drama, confusion, and other misunderstandings.

Online communities tend to be chock-full of plenty and I do not, nor does anyone who visits, need another reason to be tired. I'm not detailing all of this upfront because I expect to be very popular, or because I like listening to myself talk for paragraphs on end. I don't want a theoretical lack of information to be used to hurt either myself or others, though some of it shouldn't have to be spelled out in the first place.

But considering how ridiculously easy it is to misinterpret each other online, and how much of a disadvantage neuroatypical people like myself are when things are left just implicit rather than made what you could argue as exhaustingly explicit, I figured a crazy FAQ was a small price to pay for a peaceful environment.

TLDR: it certainly might be overkill, but that doesn't mean there is no point to it.

Q: What should requesters and followers call you anyways?

A: I'm fine with my username. If you're going for a different vibe, Red or Darlings sounds nice too. If you can come up with something catchier, feel free to try!

 A commission for a lovely anonymous user, for their Attack On Titan OC (Elvina Wolfe) and a Yandere!Eren Yeager. I may have gotten a little too into that character, to be honest...

It was a simple occurrence. Nothing more, nothing less. He’d been late for his first class, running through the near-empty halls with little concern for the yells of teachers or the other students jumping out of the way. Of course, this didn’t give him time to check around corners, leading to a straight, full-force collision with one of the dramatically named ‘untouchables’, Elvina. She’d been knocked over, and he scrambled to apologize and help her gather up a few scattered textbooks and papers. With a quick ‘look where you’re going next time’, she was on her way, and he’d never gotten the chance to hand her the single book he’d managed to grab.

That’s all it’d been, and yet, Eren couldn’t bring himself to move his feet. He stood there, staring down at the thick, hard-cover novel in his hands, wondering what the fuck he was going to do.

Elvina was above day-to-day life. Or, more realistically, she acted like she was. Cold, aloof, quiet to the point where some people questioned if she could even talk… The circle of people who had heard her voice was almost as small as those who dared to call themselves her friends. It wasn’t that she was mean, or harsh, or pushed people away, she just seemed to float above everything. Like nothing bad ever happened her, or like she be bothered to care. It certainly explained her choice in… company, to say the least.

Not many people noticed her as more than a passing face, someone to write off and consequently forget about. Eren was one of those people, or he had been, at least. They barely shared a mutual acquaintance (his ‘sister’ would often hang out in her social circles, if only for the sake of her goth aesthetic) and they had a lunch period together. Even those connections were tenuous, though. Not enough for him to approach her, let alone be a close friend.

Even with this, he felt an urge to reach out. It was subtle, more of an instinct than anything, but they were similar. Eren’s mother had died when he was younger, and his father had worked overseas since Eren was old enough to cook for himself. Her parents, albeit alive, were border-line negligent. When they weren’t working, they were on some ‘parental vacation’, one that Elvina wasn’t allowed to go on. It wasn’t a perfect match, but it could be enough. But, he couldn’t exactly go up to her and say ‘we both have absent parents, let’s hang out’.

And yet, here he was, holding her book. He spent the better half of that day considering the merits of thievery (how mad could she really be?), before figuring he’d have to return it eventually. Might as well make it soon.

The band room’s purpose was an open secret among students. Whenever the room wasn’t in being used for a class, there was usually some group of jocks or stoners claiming their territory. Today, Elvina and a few of her friends had claimed the empty space, as anyone would know by the sounds of soft laughter and gossip coming through the wooden doors.

Eren raised his hand to knock, immediately pushing it back to his side. Was he trying to make this more awkward? Instead, he opted to push the door open with his shoulder, almost regretting it when a tense silence immediately fell over the room.

“Um… Hey?” Historia stared holes into him, looking out-of-place in her, blinding, flashy cheerleading uniform. Ymir, carefully perched on her smaller girlfriend’s lap, gave Eren a slight wave before trying (and failing) not to laugh. Annie followed the other blonde’s lead, raising an eyebrow and crossing her arms, all while slouching further into her cracked plastic chair. He swallowed, trying not to crack under their rushed judgments. “Is Elvina here?”

“Behind you,” She called, voice soft. Eren let out a shaky breath, turning to face the brunette. She didn’t seem surprised to see him, or eager to get rid of her unwanted guest. With one hand gingerly running over a well-worn stuffed animal, she looked… natural. A little dazed, but peaceful. Inviting, in the way a shady forest is. “Yeager, right?”

“Right!” He yelped, abruptly knocking himself out of his daze. Sheepishly, he held out the book towards her, rubbing the back of his neck. “We ran into each other the other day… or, well, I ran into you. Anyway, you dropped this.” Elvina looked at the object for a moment, like it was some strange, exotic animal, smiling when she realized what it was. She mumbled a quiet ‘thanks’ as she took it, flipping through the pages. He let himself watch her for a moment, before turning to leave. “No problem, I guess. See yo-”

“Stay.” It wasn’t a request, more similar to a passive command. He paused, and she gestured to one of the empty chairs in their small circle. There was no explanation, just the invitation. “You know Ymir and Annie, and you seem nice enough. So, stay.”

With no rejections from the rest of the group, he took a seat. The conversation flowed on, Elvina’s seemingly exhausted stupor remaining resolute. Eren tried to pay attention, to keep up with the rest of her group, but his gaze seemed determined to stay on her.

“How long as you been following me?”

Eren froze, fists clenching at his sides. Seeing his reluctance, Elvina took a few reluctant steps towards him, closing the measured distance he’d been trying to keep. “Is this the first time? You’re really bad at it.”

He hadn’t been following her. He couldn’t follow someone, not like that. Following people was something stalkers did. Lunatics, criminals, bad people. Eren wasn’t a bad person, he’d just been… looking for an opportunity to talk to her. Away from school, and other students, and people who would’ve gotten in the way. If he’d caught her attention, they could’ve talked. They could’ve joked, and talked about her book, and realized how perfect their friendship could be.

Unfortunately, his opportunity came when she started to circle around him, regarding Eren with a paranoid suspicion. “I’m not following you,” He said, reflexively. The girl pursed her lips, obviously still wary. He crossed his arms, defensively. “I’m not lying! I live in this neighborhood. Just moved, in fact.”

“Yeah, definitely. I’ve never believed someone more in my life,” She responded sarcastically, spinning on her heels and continuing down the narrow street at a playfully fast pace. “I guess you must live on the same street as me, too. My next-door neighbor?”

“I’m telling the truth!” No, he wasn’t. He lived on the other side of town, more than an hour away from their current location. It’d take him a long time to get home, but as long as they got a chance to talk, it’d be worth it… probably. He ran after her, fighting to match her pace while the girl pretended not to acknowledge him. “Besides, isn’t this a dangerous part of the city? It’d be safer for us to walk home together.”

Elvina laughed. Not a smile, not a smirk, a laugh. Eren couldn’t stop himself from blushing, averting his eyes and desperately trying to hide his new-found embarrassment. Despite this, he smiled, feeling her nudge him teasingly. “Sure, stalker. Protect me from all the big, bad, dangerous outlaws roaming our city.”

He’d have to follow her more often. From a more comfortable distance, next time.

Eren didn’t mean for it to get this far.  He really, really didn’t mean for his behavior to get this out of hand. And yet, here he was, sitting on the edge of her bed and running a hand through her hair.

He’d been walking her home for about two months now, letting Elvina ‘catch’ him some days, but being more careful the majority of the time. In his defense, she never tried to keep him away. Her spare key was practically kept in plain sight, hidden half-heartedly under an outdoor rug. She never fully closed her windows, or made an effort to hide her address. It’s like she wanted this to happen… and maybe she did. Eren wanted to believe she planned all of her accidental gestures, that she knew he was just trying to protect her, that she wanted to be alone with him as badly as he wanted to be alone with her, but he knew better.

Still, it was a nice thought. One that might be true, eventually.

And she looked so happy here, clinging to that damned stuffed wolf a little less desperately as he played with a loose strand of her hair. As he’d learned (both from her vague confessions and watching her at home), night terrors were more than common for Elvina. It was usually just small episodes (sleepwalking, the occasional scream), but it kept her up for most of the night. Something like that would undoubtedly start to affect her health if no one stepped in. He needed to help her! And... it was satisfying, knowing that her relatively-peaceful sleep was caused by him. He eyed the water bottle on her nightstand, more out of gratitude than anything else.

Drugging someone he loved wasn’t an easy decision, but it was for the best. This way, she would be well-rested. She’d be better off, thanks to him. She could sleep, and he could watch her, enjoying the soft sounds of her shallow breaths and the way she sleepily clung to anything within reach.

And soon enough, she’d be clinging onto him the same way.

Elvina didn’t cry often. Not in front of other people, and not if she could help it. But, she considered making an exception, just this once. Waking up in a stranger’s basement, with one ankle chained to the bedpost and a pair of familiar green eyes staring holes into her, seemed like a great reason to cry.

“Eren… what the fuck is going on?” The question was blunt, tone apprehensive, but his smile barely wavered. He continued to kneel over her, grinning as she started to sit up. Calling the boy ‘happy’ would’ve been a severe understatement. He was damn-near ecstatic, practically leaping onto her as soon as she was close enough. He let go quickly, almost shyly, but he didn’t go far. A few centimeters, at most.

“I’m sorry, you’re probably overwhelmed,” He admitted, taking her hand in his. She tried to pull away, but his grip tightened, hopefully subconsciously. She didn’t want to know what would happen if she made a more obvious effort to defy him. “I guess this might be surprising, but you don’t have to scared. I’m not going to hurt you.”

She was silent for a moment, before reluctantly responding. “Let me go. Now.” The words were a growl, meant to be intimidating. The tears starting to form in the corners of her eyes might’ve gotten in the way of that, however. “I’m not going to tell anyone, but you have to snap out of this and get off of me.”

“I can’t do that.” Eren’s excitement softened, a frown tugging at his lips. Again, his grip on her hand tightened. There’d be bruises in a few hours, if she wasn’t lucky. And considering the way his nails were now digging into her skin, she wouldn’t be. “I love you, a lot. I want to be with you, and keep you safe. You don’t understand now, but you will. Even if it takes some time.”

“You’re delusional. You can’t keep me safe if you’re the one who kidnapped me,” She argued, pushing him away with her free hand. Eren acted swiftly, dropping her hand and wrapping his arms around her waist. She was pulled into his chest, one hand staying on her back while the other embedded itself in her hair. He hummed against her shoulder, like he was comforting a crying child. Like he wasn’t the one being crazy.

“Don’t say things you don’t mean.” Lips traced over her shoulder, kissing whenever he felt her breath hitch. It would be a sweet moment, and for once, Eren saw it as one. Elvina was finally realizing that she loved him, even if she hadn’t fully accepted it yet. Elvina, on the other hand, had never been more convinced she hated someone. Unfortunately, the boy wasn’t phased, smiling against her skin.

“We’re going to be so happy together.”

Sorry to bother you, but I was wondering do you have any advice or important tips for writing a yandere character? Thank you!

Gaaaaaahhh, anon you’re dragging me ooc to tell you how to write? Buddy oh boi, I can assure you I have no idea what I’m doing, so accept this wonderful jumble of words that may or may not help! 

Let’s start with the obvious, there are many types of yanderes.

Like, a lot. 

In fact, I believe every type requires a different way to handle them, and explain their motivations which allow them to fall under the large pool of ‘yandere’ characters. I believe the two main points of these characters are the love-struck and dangerous sides, which each type handles differently. I’ll keep it simple for now. 

I popularly see them broken up into two primary groups:

Obsessive and Possessive

Obsessive: Those who find a strange fascination with a particular person, they find them different or special thus their adoration grows into one that overtakes their lifestyle, Soon, most of their time is spent protecting this person or learning all they can about them. 

What’s easy about writing these characters is it’s obvious that their actions come from adoration and love, a key part of the yandere personality type. Without the love motivation they just become stalkers or yangires. These feelings of devotion can be portrayed to a reader most easily via the yandere’s thoughts, ex. “Oh, how their eyes sparkled with the life of a world buried deep within, I wished to know such a burden, to learn all of the person deep below.” The second part of a yandere, which is where they become creepier or dangerous, is where this character may be lacking. We have an obsession? Check. Will this obsession affect the story? Well, there’s a lot of ways you can go with this. 

After this part in the obsessed type’s growing interest, it’s hard to tell how they will allow these feelings to grow further. You could have them take the classic ‘kidnapping’ route, however unless your victim is meant to escape and another hunt ensures, it’s hard to keep the story rolling without a mind-break game that everyone has read a million times before. Yes, keeping your character interesting and different seems to be the problem here. At this point, you need to introduce another factor that may limit your yandere, whether this be society, their setting, illness, a clever partner, an unforeseen disaster, etc. Those are just a few ideas. 

Then again, maybe you don’t want your yandere to kidnap their beloved, or even for their fixation to grow much further. If so, then I highly recommend having them have a greater goal other than their beloved, since not much more material will be produced by just their stalking rounds, unless you’re really creative! 

Intermission: Hey, I’m not a writer, these are just my thoughts don’t hurt me. Also if you would like to contribute via comments or reblogs yas queen please help. 

Possessive: As the name implies, these types wish to control and own their loved one. A simple task that is usually followed up by your casual remarks “You belong to me.” or “You have no other choice, you’re mine.” ya know, as you do. 

These types are fun to play with when you bring in a sub group I like to call ‘manipulative types’. Manipulative types devote their work to either shaping their beloved into something they would much prefer (this can also lead to a group I like to call ‘my doll’ types) or shaping the world around their victim into one that would aid in gaining ownership of their love. First, shaping their beloved is a method where they may use their power (more on that later) to create situations where their love is either broken or dependent on the yandere. For example, the yandere forces their love’s significant other to break up with them. Not only will this allow their victim to be single once again, but also emotionally unstable so they can swoop in and help them, thus growing their bond so their darling is more dependent on them. 

Manipulative types also change the world around their loves to make it easier to obtain them. A good example of this is social isolation, where they threaten, distract, dispose of etc. those around their victim in order for them to be farther apart from others. This will lead to their love seeking companionship, which a yandere is happy to provide. 

Possessive types, as a whole, have one major flaw when writing them which make it hard for them to appear as ‘yanderes’. This is the ‘love-struck’ side which is their motivation for any actions they may take. It’s all for love, you know! 

As explained earlier, possessives wish to own their loves. Having a yandere built upon the topic of ‘owning’ someone isn’t exactly romantic, I mean, unless you’re into that, if that’s the case go wild and have fun with it. Ownership based upon need or lust rather than actual love makes your character similar to that of an incel. To avoid such things, I recommend there being a reason for their need of ownership over their beloved. Perhaps their love is dating someone else? Maybe going to a far away place? Something fun, like someone else’s dance partner in a performance? Get creative with it!  

Power: A large part of stories based around yandere characters require that the yandere has a bit of power which helps them get away with half of the crap they do. An example of this would be murder, of course. I don’t know about you, but murder seems pretty hard these days. You have to influence a person until they’re in an isolated spot where no will discover the act, you need to have the opportunities to grab something deadly whether poison or a base ball bat, you also require both the physical and mental strength to carry through the murder, and other processes not everyone is capable of. 

Making your character powerful enough to do these acts may be a problem, as you could say they’re ‘overpowered’ or don’t make sense. If you’re cheap. like me, you could just make your yandere rich or a political influence, perhaps even give them an education which will allow them such skills. 

As of now, there are many plot holes and hurdles you’ll have to jump to make sure your character is a true ‘yandere’, which remember the most important parts are being dangerous while also motivated by love. Each type has different routes towards obtaining such needs, however at the end of the day it depends on how creative you are and mix the formula up. Go crazy! 

Alright bois, I’ve been writing this on and off for the past three hours, so I won’t add much more. I hope this helped even though there weren’t many writing tips… Still!  I’m no professional and I’d love to see add-ons to this post, maybe I can learn a little something from you guys ^^

Just gonna drop something one my friends thought of a few weeks ago when on a call with a few others I think this is a bit of talk on the main character Artyom if he were Yandere

"The thing that would make a Yandere from Metro terrifying would be if it were any of the main characters, take Artyom for example he is legit peak Protagonist energy but there is a limit, if it's a self-aware game with a real-world darling it would be more tame as the yandere is aware they are in a video game but if they break out from the games code it's going to act as a virus, it doesn't matter if your on PC or console hell even switch it will try to break other games just so you keep playing metro, it may start as small like maybe causing a few bugs in other games even deleting save data or corrupting save files and if that doesn't work it may even delete the games code or even uninstall or refuse the game to download. If it's a yandere with a darling in the metro world that'd be much more dangerous, like Artyom in the game he is immune to the dark ones and he can communicate with them so if you the person of his affection met Artyom during the events of last light you would sort of be fucked as Artyom could use the help of the baby dark one either to try and alter you so you would also be immune or cause you some sort of mental damage as the dark ones are known to incapacitate any humans that show aggression towards them. If you do somehow leave him it won't take long for Artyom to locate you since plot armor and being experienced in tracking down stuff be it creatures or even having to traverse areas he will find you. But you also have to be experienced yourself as the tunnels in the metro are dangerous on their own so you either have to fight your way through or bribe a caravan to travel with them to another major station. You also need to be aware that he is a spartan ranger which makes him very dangerous to face in combat or even trying to escape, doesn't matter who you are, male, female, big or small he can or will take you out. I mean he did fight a mutated bear that is the size of a Volkswagen beetle that was as tall as Shaquil Oneil. But if it's any of the others it's a whole different story."

Not a request, but i remember seeing a soft yan Riddle ask and let me tell you i love that idea.

No cause like, Riddle over here is gonna be so strict, always scolding whoever forgets like lets say rule number 501, but then you walk into the room, you prolly didn't even know that Riddle is even there, and then suddenly his personality did a whole 180, he gon' stop his scolding, then he will start smiling at you, the dorm members rubbing their eyes and then being like "am i dreaming?" and then he melts when you, let's say wave back, his eyes soften, and then Riddle's eyes went back to the members and bam, the Riddle that they know and is very familiar with is back.

I won't lie, Riddle is one of the harder characters to write at times. Not all the times, but it's certain times, like when I have to go through my vocabulary to make him sound eloquent and fancy. But also because of his behavior. I can't see Riddle acting a certain way, but there are some things I can see him doing. I can see him being soft towards a mc, especially if he's a yandere, but I can't see him being super soft. Like, he still has dignity, and while he may not be as prideful as other characters, he's still pretty prideful. So he won't be like characters such as Azul that are willing to throw away their pride in certain instances, at least I cannot see Riddle doing anything like that in a majority of situations.

But like you mention, I can certainly see him being kinder and a little more lenient to the object of his affections. And people will likely take notice.

Ohh, excellent question, anon!

If I could only choose one demon brother, I'd have to pick Mammon.

Normally, I'm not a huge fan of tsundere characters (I prefer yanderes tbh). But I grew a major soft spot for Mammon from the very beginning.

His type of "tsundere" façade is one I actually do like. Because while he may act tough and uncaring on surface level, he instantly jumps all over his brothers the moment any of them try to monopolize MC's time or attention. He reminds me of a guard dog with a "That's my human, back off!" mentality.

Plus we all know how flustered and soft he gets whenever MC shows even the slightest bit of affection towards him. And I'm here for that lol

I'm also a major Mammon simp because of how he's lowkey bullied by his brothers (and everyone else). Others may call him stupid, money grubbing, scheming, and selfish... But I genuinely love Mammon. I love everything about that demon boy ;u;

Possible spoilers :

And let's not forget just how caring and sweet Mammon actually is. Not just towards MC, either. I legit felt so unexplainably proud of Mammon, almost driven to tears, when I read the Devilgram about how he helped a lonely little human girl he had found. He basically got her adopted by witches and continues to support her (giving the witches more reason to extort him for even more money). Which is something no one would ever expect the Avatar of Greed to do. Yet he did it, all to help a child he didn't even know and could have easily walked away from.

So yes... Mammon is and forever will be my favorite 💛

K, A, Y with Undertaker and Sebastian :)?

I hope you enjoy these!———-Undertaker:A-Affection: I feel that Undertaker would be a very affection partner but his affection would be overtly physical; partly because he already seems to have a minuscule/nonexistent bubble of personal space and also because Undertaker probably wouldnt be able to “sweet talk” his s/o without bursting out laughing or accidentally saying something offensive, so verbal affection would either be minimal or just horribly executed. He wouldnt really care whether or not his s/o was clingy or distant as long as they put up with his frequent need to be touching them in some type of way.

K-Kill: Ok so obviously Undertaker finds death to be a rather beautiful thing, he arguably views it as the most beautiful thing a human can, not only experience but, execute (if that makes sense). Undertaker, since he previously worked as a grim reaper, would have no qualms about killing someone, he’d probably even think he was doing them a favor. However, i feel, Undertaker would have a bit of difficulty killing someone he cared for, it would depend on the situation. If he were to still carry out the task, he would take care to kill them in a way that wouldnt result in the mutilation of their body or their suffering i.e. sleeping pills or sometype of painless poison.

Y-Yandere: No, no, no. Of the all the characters in Black Butler, I feel Undertaker is the least likely to be yandere. Honestly, Undertaker has been exposed to so much death and loss in general that I doubt he’d even care that much to begin with if his s/o were to voluntarily leave, let alone care enough to get violent. He’d probably treat their pulling away from him with respect and encourage their happiness even if it excluded him, due to the fact he places so much value in happiness (thus his affinity for laughter). If Undertaker really really cared for this person and he was devastated by their absence, he would most likely treat their leaving as if they had died, since the concept of death is so familiar to him and he’d be able to get over it quicker with that type of mindset.

Sebastian:A-Affection: Unlike Undertaker Sebastian would, not only, rely on verbal affection but he wouldnt be a very affectionate partner in general. Though he would understand that humans tend to be very affectionate towards romantic partners, as a demon it simply wouldnt interest him. Very rarely would he ever make the effort to show his partner any affection, the majority of times he would display affection would mostly likely be because Sebastian is pretty narcissistic and he’d take more pleasure in the effect his words/actions would have on his s/o versus how his partner actually felt (unfortunate but Sebastian is a heartless demon). However, despite being a heartless demon, Sebastian has an extremely possessive personality and, as far as  physical ‘affection’ goes, he would probably leave some type of physical marking on his s/o i.e. bite marks, hickeys, etc. (almost like a contract seal hehe). I feel that Sebastian wouldnt really care whether or not his partner was clingy or distant as long as they werent on the far end of either spectrum. He would get extremely irritated with someone who was constantly trying to touch him, but at the same time he would get bored with someone whom had no interest in touching him at all. Regardless of whether or not they liked to be touched, they’d have to be able to deal with him doing as he pleases with them as Sebastian doesnt like being told no and doesnt like being gentle either.

K-Kill: Death has very little effect on Sebastian. Even with the death of someone he considered a friend he really wasnt phased. I think the only time Sebastian would actually be effected by death would be if it had to do with a contract, i.e. his contractee died somehow before he could attain their soul, someone whom he was comtractually bound to keep alive (maybe the loved one of a contractee) was killed somehow and as a result he violated the terms of the contract, but other than that Sebastian doesnt really care. As far as killing goes, it would be an understatement to say Sebastian views murder as a sport. Whenever Sebastian is seen going on a killing spree he almost always has a sickening expression of pure bliss on his face. The only time Sebastian would ever hesitate to kill someone would be if he really really cared for them and he had no contractual obligation to kill them.

Y-Yandere: I think it would depend on the situation and the s/o. Like I previously mentioned, Sebastian is pretty possessive and on top of that he is extremely narcissistic. Sebastian is very rarely rejected, especially in his human facade because of how attractive it is, so needless to say, rejection is something Sebastian is pretty unfamiliar with and as a result he doesnt handle it very well. If Sebastian were to engage in a romantic relationship while contracted to someone, he most likely wouldnt care about his partner rejecting him as much as he would if he wasnt already occupied with completeing a contract due to the fact that, when Sebastian is contracted to someone, he puts it at the top of his list of priorities. Also if his s/o was another demon, he wouldnt care if they left, considering demons tend to be companionless, and i feel that Sebastian views other demons more or less equivalent to himself, so he wouldn’t necessarily take that as rejection but more so as a fact of the nature of his species. However, if his s/o were a human and they left him, he would totally become yandere. Sebastian knows that he is considered very desirable to humans and that humans are extremely social creatures that yearn for relationships, not to mention he views humans as lesser than himself, so to be rejected by a creature that instinctually craves companionship and the fact that he considers them a lesser being would drive him mad. Instead of going to find another human, he would put his all into recapturing the one that left, as he wouldnt be able to cope with the thought of some measly human seeing enough flaw in him to render him undesirable. Sebastian would try to regain them using verbal tactics first, since he’s pretty talented with luring people in with his words (however reluctant his victim may be). Assuming his first few attempts at verbal coercion are failures, Sebastian would become irritated and resort to violence/physical force.

Bummer Anime 2018 Part 2: shoujo to the rescue

It got better, mostly because it could hardly get worse. That doesn’t mean it was a smooth ride, of course. I would like to state, for the record, that I’m not trying to be the funny guy who hates everything here; the season’s just that unusually bad. What: A bunch of assholes play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

✅ It’s another exuberant comedy, and unlike Chio-chan, I can’t catch this one on the execution: It has the technical chops and honestly good comedic timing.

❌❌ Initially wants to make you believe it’s a pleasant cute girls doing cute things show, but what it actually is is a brutally annoying and ugly explosion in the reactionface factory. Since the production values are there, it’s rather too good at that.

❌❌ I was trying to compare it to something, and the best I could come up with was rage comics. Yeah, it’s anime rage comics. It’s that bad.

❌❌ I would feel more benevolent towards it if it were shorter, but at full length its high energy screaming based assault is mostly just tiresome.

♎ This is one of those rare shows where even I will say your mileage may vary. It’s really good at what it does, but I hate everything it does. Hooray for the subversion, but at the end of the day you’re still annoying and ugly.

❌❌ there’s more idiocy than that, believe it or not (ex.: smartphone hotline to his actual imouto, for the feels), but I haven’t got all day.

❌❌ Basing your isekai shit on “history” (i.e., a LN author’s idiotic idea of history) instead of an MMO or whatever only serves to piss me off even more.

❌❌ Actually not better than Isekai Smartphone, which makes it one of the worst anime episodes I have ever seen. Congratulations. The only thing it has over Death March is that it doesn’t spend 80% of the time in menus, but it makes menus look pretty good so it’s a wash.

ANN brainfarts: “Yuuto also seems to be limiting his phone searches to historically accurate things as well, which shows that he's really thinking about the fact that he's in the past – no one's inventing the rocket here, they're just learning to grind grain and use the phalanx formation for battles.”

Phantom in the Twilight

What: Chinese girl travels to London, inadvertently inherits her great-grandma’s vampire harem. 

✅ Step 1 of every otome harem appraisal is determining how much of a wet blanket the protagonist is; Ton here is pretty spunky and even gets to kick some ass, so well done on that.

✅ Some of the right kind of nonsense for my taste, stuff like chav goblins and Jiangshi with miniguns is always appreciated.

✅ Random shows ending up with bizarre minimal techno soundtracks is still something that I approve of.

❌ Still not the glorious kind of nonsense that Dance With Devils had, nor the disregard of actual romance in favor of comedy that Dame x Prince exhibited. It’s an otome-ass otome harem and that’s not inspiring confidence for the long term.

❌ Looks cheap, and that won’t be getting any better.

ANN sez: “The fantasy worldbuilding here also felt far more sturdy than in many similar shows; this isn't a world where the Good Fantasy Guys fight the Bad Fantasy Guys, this is a world where creatures like goblins and spriggans and werewolves all exist, all possess their own cultures and priorities, and uneasily rub shoulders with each other.”

Jashin-chan Dropkick

What: Demon snake girl wants to murder the chuuni gothloli that summoned her, gets owned right back.

❌❌ It’s the second coming of Dokuro-chan, with every punchline being torture. Quite literally for the characters, and consequently for the audience as well.

❌❌ Needless to say, the entire cast (there’s some additional supernatural babes, none of which make much of an impression) are jerks and the show being wantonly mean-spirited towards them does not cancel that out. 

❌ Somehow the second anime about eating reptile ass in recent memory. But Maidragon, as lame as it was, wasn’t as terrible as this. Jashin-chan won’t get into insipid family feels any time soon, but the alternative is worse.

ANN sez: “If this is your taste in humor, it may be worth giving a second episode to see if it starts pulling that off.”

Kyoto Teramachi Sanjou no Holmes

What: Handsome genius antique dealer appraises old pottery and his assistant’s soul.

✅ I have to admit that if you somehow decided to make a otome version of Sherlock without anything so crass as murder, this is how you’d do it. It works.

✅ The leading pair has simple but effective chemistry.

✅ The studio behind it has mostly done porn OVAs before, which is the kind of meta-humor I can get behind.

❌ Based on a series of novels, so naturally the talkytalk gets out of hand.

❌ Doesn’t have the highest budget, tries to make up for it with rainbow-colored garishness. Not a dealbreaker but it could get tiresome.

ANN sez: “While Yagashira cuts a handsome figure as the bishonen, Aoi has more of an ordinary appearance – perhaps deliberately so, since I suspect that the source novels were originally aimed at female audiences.”

Shinya! Tensai Bakabon

What: Showa-era gag manga gets on air again after decades, repeatedly points out how hilarious that is.

❌ Beat-for-beat the same first episode concept as Osomatsu-san.

❌ The main difference is that Bakabon is more willing to look old as fuck, but when they arrive at the non-ruse look at the end of the episode, it’s the same as the non-ruse look that Osomatsu-san ended up at the end of its own first episode.

❌  So guess what, constantly takes potshots at Osomatsu-san, despite being a blatant ripoff of it.

❌❌ When it doesn’t reference Things You Know (if you’re a middle-aged Japanese salaryman), it references its own sorry showa-era gag manga self.

❌❌ I didn’t even like Osomatsu-san but this is an embarrassment.

♎ On the bright side, not as likely to provide fujos with incest shipping material. I fully expect to be proven painfully wrong on this.

ANN sez: Nothing. Way too Japanese for them, I suppose. 

Angolmois - Genkou Kassenki

What: Historical action show wherein a bunch of misfits in medieval Japan fight the Mongols.

✅ Fairly decent action and animation thereof.

✅ Characters seem alright for this sort of thing. Maybe a bit too tryhard violent for my tastes, but that’s still within acceptable parameters.

❌❌ The looks are ruined in postproduction. I could live with the heavyhanded color correction, but what really kills it is the same omnipresent static paper texture over every single shot. It’s bad when it doesn’t change between shots but it’s devastating when it doesn’t move along with zooms and pans, which this show has a lot of.

❌❌ Seriously, I haven’t seen anything as senselessly destroyed by a single AfterEffects layer since Garo: Vanishing Line’s Parkinsonscam, but at least that only affected impact frames. Here it’s literally every frame. Delete that PNG you damn fools.

❌ So yeah, it’s okay-ish but that’s not enough to survive one boneheaded executive decision that’s impossible to ignore. It just comes out as a net negative.

ANN sez: “From its beautifully animated, choreographed, and directed fight scenes to its generally dynamic compositions and keen understanding of visual economy, Angolmois is a visually stunning production.”

Lord of Vermilion - Guren no Ou

What: Tokyo gets enveloped in red mist which raptures most of the population and turns the rest into JRPG characters. They start fighting, we promise.

❌ Has the shape of an obvious Persona clone, but isn’t one; it’s actually based on an arcade CCG. So the source material isn’t very classy to begin with.

❌❌ Haphazardly thrown together so it’s hard to care about anything, especially not the characters.

❌❌ Opens with a flashforward to the climax, so we know this will just end up as overdesigned dudes and dudettes having allegedly epic battles that the show can’t afford to make look good, but can afford to make very red. Thanks for the heads up, I guess.

❌ So it’s quite bad, and not even funny-bad like Caligula was.

ANN sez: “There are always a few action shows like this every season, and they're always entirely overshadowed by that season's versions of shows like My Hero Academia and Banana Fish”

Grand Blue

What: City slicker moves to a beach town expecting to end up in Amanchu; ends up in Animal House instead.

❌❌ Say it with me: Every punchline is the protagonist making a shocked face at dumb meatheads doing something stupid.

♎ For something that I feel like I should hate every second of, I actually didn’t hate it all that much. I even thought it was mostly sort of enjoyable. I don’t really know what exactly does it but I can offer some ideas:

✅ While the punchlines (well, punchline) may be bad, the jokes themselves aren’t. This is a real sitcom with larger-scale comedic setups than you usually see in anime, jokes build upon each other and keep escalating.

✅ Sleazy fratboy humor about partying hard and drinking like an idiot isn’t very profound, but rare at least in anime. And it’s amusing that the overall conceit is that it’s preventing iyashikei from taking place. Novelty counts for something. 

✅ Manages to build awkward comedic situations about buff dudes with their dicks out without resorting to the same old gay panic jokes. Just regular panic, no homo.

✅ Makes a good Friday beach bum combo with Harukana Receive, which incidentally also got better by embracing its more prurient side.

ANN sez: “If Grand Blue Dreaming has a major Achilles heel, its that it isn't self-aware enough to recognize when a joke has run its course. ”

Happy Sugar Life

What: Yandere sociopath adopts a preteen girl (from a parking lot). It’s cute, only not.

✅ Is fully aware that everyone in this show is an asshole and is honestly trying for subversive. At least on the surface.

✅ Goes all on on the imagery, which works. At least on the surface.

❌❌ Simply exploiting the contrast between cuteness and insanity got old about a decade ago; this cranks up the presentation on both sides but doesn’t really add anything new.

❌❌ About as mean-spirited and unpleasant as Mahou Shoujo Site, while having even less to say. 

❌ Doesn’t seem like it’s going anywhere; it’s just going to be the main character pwning other people that are just as flamboyantly fucked up as she is, but not as good at it. Starting with a flashforward to the (very edgy, of course) ending like Lord of Vermilion doesn’t help either. And even if they end up rusemanning what is implied there it won’t be much better.

ANN sez: “Happy Sugar Life was on my list of most-anticipated anime this season because its combination of disparate elements seemed so utterly perverse that I was curious to see how they could possibly fit together.“

Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight

What: Girls slowwalk in an academy for stage arts by day, get into metaphorical superbattles by night.

✅✅ What can I say, it’s Love Live x Marimite with a glossy coating of Ikuhara-style operatics. A total deltabait concept if I’ve ever seen one.

✅ Clones the storytelling approach of Ikuhara but not many of his specific directing mannerisms; Since I’m tired of the latter but a sucker for the former, this is a good thing.

✅ In a similar vein, this trades Ikuhara’s functional ciphers for actual characters and his enigmatic arthouse plots for something that obviously makes sense. 

✅ How gay? So gay.

❌ Has the opposite problem of Grand Blue: This is a show that should blow me away, but doesn’t. In fact, if it didn’t bring the big damn musical theater complete with one of the best and most appropriate henshins I’ve ever seen near the end, I’d say it was fairly lame.

❌ Probably has something to do with that in the course of casualizing Ikuhara, the “real” world ended up too bland and the characters too generic. I get that it’s for contrast, but it can be done far better (see Yorimoi for an example).

✅ In any case, it still seems easily worth watching even if it’s not as good as it could be. Maybe it’ll even get better.

ANN sez: “All I can say for certain is that it comes completely out of nowhere, and that it raises all kinds of questions about what kind of series this is going to be.“

Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san

What: Impoverished ghost hunter checks into a haunted hot spring and interacts with the harem that happens to live there.

❌ As generic a 90s ecchi harem comedy as they come; my correspondents tell me that this is extremely reminiscent of Love Hina. Shockingly it’s actually based on a 2016 manga, but you wouldn’t be able to tell.

❌ As such, an abundance of accidental boobplants and other saucy accidents makes up the bulk of what’s going on this show.

✅ The main ghost girl is fairly cute; The main dude is also relatively bearable and has at least one good joke in his backstory (which I won’t spoil), so the core dynamic is surprisingly fine. If the rest of the harem weren’t there, this wouldn’t be such a bad setup. 

❌ Features those dastardly breast-hiding light rays, reportedly even in the AT-X version. This doesn’t affect a large part of the show (the majority is more like the cap above), but boobies are probably still the only reason anyone cares about any of this.

♎ Certainly not good, but the lame shit of yore is not what I’m going to spend energy getting mad at in 2018. The 24 minutes I’m ever going to spend with it felt more nostalgic than anything.

ANN sez: “Ninja girl Sagiri comes off the worst from the situation, with nearly all of her dialogue spent promising to beat the crap out of anyone who doesn't measure up to her moral code. I imagine there must be more to her and the rest of the supporting cast than what we've seen so far, but at the moment they seem an awful lot like stock characters.”

Sirius the Jaeger

What: A broody werewolf and his team of assorted bad dudes hunt vampires in 30s Tokyo.

✅✅ Looks ace, this is an action show with deluxe everything. It better, because being directed by Masahiro Ando is pretty much the start and end of this show’s unique selling points.

✅ Interwar Tokyo with a bit of a gothick twist is a cool setting, and this show can afford to portray it properly.

❌ Seriously though... edgy vampires and edgier werewolves. Come on, son.

❌ Just like Banana Fish, this is a highly polished implementation of something that fundamentally isn’t very interesting to me.

✅ I’d still take it over Fanana Bish because this doesn’t seem to take itself so bloody seriously and is far more comfortable with just being moody action schlock. It’s also less showoffy, believe it or not. What else are you going to watch? Sirius the Jaeger is what you’re going to watch. Sorry.

ANN sez: They only have a preview from Anime Expo, and that boils down to “The second episode is where things start to get interesting.“ I sure hope so.

Well, we got a few acceptable shows in if nothing else, I’ll leave it up to you to figure out which ones those are. I’m cutting my losses here, see you in three months for a hopefully more bountiful season.

Mystic Messenger is an otome game mobile app developed by Cheritz, a south Korean company also responsible for creating Dandelion & Nameless.

GAMEPLAY

Mystic Messenger stands apart from its other contemporary otome game (or maiden game) counterparts due to its concept of gameplay. It incorporates features from modern-day standard chat applications in smartphones to narrate the story and interact with its characters instead of the typical dialog with background format to visualize the scenario of the game. 

Text messages, chatroom conversations and visual novels respectively.

Incoming calls, phone logs and contacts under the call section of the app.

You can call, text back, and participate in chatrooms (it even shows stickers/emoticons) with the characters to increase your likeability points, that will affect the flow of the story.

You can even see the profile pictures and status of each member.

You can also reply to emails from potential guests for the party, as part of its storyline. By successfully convincing them, they will decide if they will accept your invitation to RFA's fund-raising gala. Of course, the number of guests also have an impact to the game's ending.

The side menu: Photo album, Email inbox and Guest list respectively.

As you proceed through the game, CG images presented as "selfies" and special visual novel art can be acquired and collected in the Mystic Messenger's image folder.

Waiting for the ufo icon in the chat menu to reach the honey buddha chips gives you random amount of hearts too. 

And finally the hourglass feature, a form of currency which lets you unlock special stories and recount missed calls and chats. It can be freely obtained from participating chats (randomly given) or by collecting 100 hearts and exchanging it for 1 hourglass.

STORY

The story starts right off the bat as you download the actual Mystic Messenger app on your mobile phone. After opening it once it's been installed, you immediately get a mysterious message from a stranger named "Unknown". He explains to you that he has found a lost smartphone lying around the subway station and wants to return it to its rightful owner. But without any contact info or call records inside and only a messenger app (to which you answered his text from) as his single clue, he elicits your help into returning back the device. Once you agree to help him, you will be instructed to go to an apartment (its address was stored on the phone) and open the lock on the door to get inside. Depending on your answers, you may get a bad end immediately.

After entering the passcode that Unknown claims to have been saved on the smartphone's notes, you open the door and realize that your phone is acting strangely again. Without warning, it enters a private chatroom, where you see messages from five people with the following usernames: Yoosung, 707, ZEN, Jaehee Kang and Jumin Han.

707, or Seven, is the first one to notice your presence and alerts the others of your sudden appearance in their chatroom. He then does a quick search on you and is surprised to see that you're in Rika's apartment, based on the IP address.

As confusion and accusations (of you being a hacker) start to erupt from all the people present in the chat, they demand to know who you are whilst you tell them to do the same. Yoosung then proposes to introduce themselves to you first in order keep things calm and civil, and also to make you feel less guarded and more cooperative in the process.

After getting a better sense of who they are, as well as their faces from the photos they've posted, you explain to them how a person named Unknown led you to the apartment. Upon further probing from Seven, you also mention that all the chat records from Unknown have been erased. Due to the current gravity of the situation, Seven contacts V, the leader of the group, to inform him about what has happened.

In just a few moments, V logs into the chatroom and tells everyone that he's already been briefed by Seven about the recent events. V reveals to everyone that Rika was the only one who knew about the apartment's password. Though the place was originally owned by V, he respected Rika's privacy and didn't ask for it. He also mentions that the apartment contains important documents and classified information, and other stored sensitive materials. Because of this, its location was not disclosed; only V and Seven (who is in-charge of its security) know where it is, and therefore asks you to keep it a secret as well to maintain its safety.

In line with this, V theorizes that you may have been led in the apartment by Rika or someone she had trusted to continue her previous work: hosting parties. He then asks the other members to trust his judgement and let you become a member of the organization.

At some point, Seven does a background check on you (and finds out that you're a cute girl in the process, lol). After confirming that you're safe and not dangerous, they introduce you to the RFA, as V had requested.

Rika's Fundraising Association, or RFA for short, is a non-profit fund-raising organization that aims to help other people in need by conducting parties for charity. Founded by Rika four years ago, it has already hosted two successful parties together with the current 6 members, whom she knew personally and recruited into the organization.

The parties sponsored by the RFA provides the opportunity for anyone to freely make donations regardless of class and nationality, as well as form business connections with others who attend their events.

But ever since Rika passed away one and a half years ago, the organization has not held any parties. It is in everyone's hope that you, who had stumbled to her apartment by some kind of divine intervention or God's sign, will continue what she has done.

Regardless of your choice, you will be forced to become a member of the RFA and take over rika's previous work.

For the next 4 days, you learn how to use the messenger app and also gradually get to know each member of the organization in the process. On the fourth day, depending on the bonds you've formed with each character, a route will be decided for you. You will also get notified by V about the date of the party, which will take place a week from that time.

Regardless of what route or which character you get, you will need to invite as many guests as you can for the party.  

All the decisions you've made will determine the ending of the story.

CHARACTERS

I. Casual Story

Yoosung★

Cutie Yoosung. The first route I got in Casual story.

Yoosung Kim is the youngest character in the group, seeing as he is only 21 years old. A university student at SKY University, he is also a LOLOL game addict who currently ranks 2nd in the shooting star server (next to Seven who ranks 1 as the player “Hacker God”).  

Yoosung is usually portrayed as a very cheerful and bubbly person who likes to cook a lot (especially omurice) and wear hoodie-type clothes. He also exudes an innocent disposition, to the point of being gullible; which makes him a favorite and constant target of Seven’s pranks. 

On the flipside however, Yoosung’s character can be somewhat dark and unstable, as seen from his demeanor whenever his cousin Rika is involved.  

It is also revealed in one of Seven’s phone calls that Yoosung is a yandere.

In his story route, it is revealed that he was once an academic nerd that showed a lot of promise and potential based from his multiple achievements. (He even got a job offer from Jumin once he’s graduated from uni) He considers Rika to be his role model and idolizes her like a lovesick puppy to the point of acute obsession. 

When news came of Rika’s death, Yoosung had a hard time accepting its reality and blamed V for everything, which severely strained their relationship.

Upon reaching college, he became laidback in his studies and got hooked to playing games. Though once in awhile, he would join several clubs that interest him bet never staying in it for long. 

If you choose to fall in love with Yoosung, your major hurdle inthe story will be his tendency of always overlapping you with his image of Rika. It is up to you whether to fuel his way of thinking or make him realize that you are your own person.  

Zen

Born Hyun Ryu, Zen is a very handsome 24-year-old musical actor and model who likes to brag about his perfect beauty.  Aside from being a complete narcissist, Zen can be a total flirt and a hopeless romantic; he doesn’t shy away from voicing out his desires for having a girlfriend (It’s been three years since his last relationship).  Though despite his rather shallow behavior, Zen is very passionate about his work and practices very hard for his roles (even exercising everyday to maintain his physique ) in order to get recognized for his skills rather than his looks.

Zen’s also extremely allergic to cats to the point of sneezing just by mention of it and is known to have a strong dislike for Jumin, because of his arrogance and his insensitivity towards Zen’s “cat-related” predicament.

Though Zen seems like a normal human, his tendency to compare himself to a “god” has some sort of weird merit. Aside from his rather good looks, he also possess monster-like healing powers, like recovering from a leg fracture in a span of 3 days. He also experiences prophetic dreams occasionally, as shown a few times from multiple story routes.

Zen also possesses a bit of a bad boy side, as he was a member of a motorcycle gang back in the old days. He also drinks beer a lot and smokes as well, though he expresses his intention to quite on the latter. Zen is also a bit of a foul-mouth, as Jaehee describes from one of your chats with her. 

During his route, it is explained that his career rose to fame because of a video that Seven uploaded that became a viral hit online. He’s also grateful to Rika for recognizing his talent and giving him the opportunity to broaden his horizons, as well as inviting him to join the RFA.

Later on in the story, he gets into a scandal with Echo girl on top of getting an injury from one of his rehearsals, causing him to suffer from extreme stress. 

After visiting him in his home, Zen talks about his family issues, as well as his estranged relationship with his brother, whom he used to look up to when he was young. Apparently, Zen comes from a conservative family who strictly values success through academic excellence. His mother, being a teacher an all, had high expectations from him and considered his beauty as nothing more but a hindrance and an eyesore, so she pushed him really hard to study. During those years, his brother became his only support and ally, saying that being beautiful is nothing to be ashamed of and that he only has to be himself and not mind what other people think of.  By the time he reached middle school, Zen has gained confidence about himself and realized his dream: to become a singer and an actor. But as years passed, his brother slowly became like his mother, berating him of his naive dreams of becoming an actor and told him to aim for a much better goal. Feeling betrayed and wanting nothing more than to pursue his goals, Zen ran away from home and barely survived the following years by making ends meet, to the point of resorting to “evil means”.  

If you choose to become Zen’s love interest, you have the option to support him and be understanding of his public occupation; or you can be selfish and not care about the consequences of your actions to his career. 

Jaehee Kang

Jaehee Kang is the 26 year old chief secretary at C&R International company, and works as an assistant of Jumin Han. She is also the only female member of the RFA and is in-charge of the overall planning and execution of the party.

Her outward appearances (of having short hair and wearing no-grade glasses) border on the androgynous side but as it turns out, this was one of Jumin’s conditions before hiring her to the company, as to prevent his father from making a pass at her. Usually overworked and haggard from Jumin’s constant demands, she’s still able to keep up and finish everything assigned to her efficiently. 

At first glance, Jaehee may come off as a rather stiff but organized person who is devoid of emotions like a robot, as joked by Seven and Jumin. But in actuality, she’s a very caring individual who deep inside craves for close friendship ties.

She also a huge fan of Zen and is a member of his fan club. She really cares about Zen’s welfare and is always concerned about his career, to the point of always reminding him that a romantic relationship might ruin his image and career. Because of this, Seven would always tease Jaehee that she likes Zen, to which she vehemently denies. During her free time, she watches his DVDs and buy merchandises related to his performances.

A very capable and self-reliant woman, Jaehee’s mature disposition and independence stems from her past when she had to live with her uncle’s family after her parents’ deaths. Not wanting to be a burden to them, she strived hard in her studies in order to graduate early and get a job. Though unfortunately, she didn’t have any fond memories with them as her aunt didn’t like her and felt that she was stealing all the good luck of their family to herself. 

In Jaehee’s route, Jumin overworks her yet again and assigns her to be in-charge of two presentations for the company, one concerning a coffee business and the other for Jumin’s cat-related project. As she researches about both projects, she slowly comes to like coffee and starts to enjoy making the presentation. But Jumin wasn’t all too pleased that she was focusing on the coffee project more than his venture, so she is forced to choose whether to continue working on what she wants or prioritize Jumin’s project.

During Jaehee’s time of difficulty, you can either encourage her to take the path she wants or you could push her to ...   

II. Deep Story

Jumin Han

Jumin Han is considered to be one of the most powerful and influential characters in RFA. The 27-year-old son of a corporate CEO of C&R International, he is usually referred by Zen as the “Trust Fund kid”. Growing up in a different environment compared to the others, his sophisticated lifestyle and formal upbringing is evident in his manner of speech, tasteless jokes and lack of “commoner” understanding during chat conversations, which usually puts Zen and Jaehee on edge. 

Though Jumin can be quite rigid, serious and awkward, he’s a very reliable person in times in need and actually gives really good advice when situation calls for it. He deeply values his relationship with others, especially with his childhood best friend V, and is shown to be very loyal and understanding.

He also exhibits a more caring side when it comes to his pet cat Elizabeth 3rd. He is not ashamed to display his affection towards her and showers her with much love and attention, earning him the title “cat mom” from Seven.  

Although Jumin’s very capable when it comes to his job, there are things that even he couldn’t do, such as driving and taking sharp photos (they’re always blurred). At times when he’s extremely stressed or at odds with his father, he would come up with bizarre business proposals (that are mostly not profitable in the long run) which usually tend to focus on cats, much to Jaehee’s dismay. 

If  you chose Jumin’s route, you will learn about the reasons behind his indifference when it comes to women. Having grown up with a playboy father, Jumin has since been exposed to the ugly side of women who want nothing more than to get his family’s fortune and fame. Thinking that all women who come near him are like that, he has remained distant and cold, to the point of being teased by Seven as gay.

But things suddenly change when his father decides to remarry again to a certain celebrity named Glam Choi. Blind to his new love, he agrees to his new lover’s proposal of having her student marry Jumin. This event forms a rift between Jumin and his father, and also affects his performance at work.  

Jaehee becomes worried of his current predicament, and thus asks you to go to his place to help him calm down and take care of him, to which you oblige. 

Your first meeting with Jumin unlocks his deep-seated feelings of love; and because he has not experience such strong and pure emotions before and has no way of knowing how to express them, he does it in a rather roundabout and forceful way. 

 To make matters worse, he becomes more twisted after Elizabeth 3rd goes missing. Fearing that everyone he holds dear will run away from him, he prevents you from going back to the apartment, and insists that you stay with him for as long as he needs you to be. 

It’s up to you whether you want to trust him and stay with him until he’s able to let go or you can chastise him for his possessive actions and run away.

707

Seven or Luciel (his baptismal name), is the quirkiest guy among the RFA. He is also considered as the OTP of the main character in the game. At a young age of 22, Seven has already made a living out of being a hacker from a secret agency. He’s also known to have rather bizarre tastes, from collecting expensive sport cars, consuming only honey buddha chips and dr. pepper and the like. He also likes to build stuff like a cat or dog robot, and dreams of making his own spaceship to fly off into space.  

Throughout all the routes, Seven comes off as the comic relief of the group. He would always try to make a joke of things and is never truly offended if any of the members scold or berate him because of his antics. 

He’s also known from breaking the fourth wall every now and then, which often leaves the other members confused about what he’s saying. At times, he would also go as far as cross-dressing just to get  a kick from Zen or Yoosung, his usual victims.  

Though he acts as a cheerful goofball most of the time, it's only a front that he puts up to hide his depression and pessimistic way of living, which stems from his dark past and current profession. 

Seven’s route has proven to have the heaviest back story among all the characters of the game, and is central to all the major plot events of the entire storyline. 

When he was still a child, Saeyoung (his real name) and his younger twin brother Saeran was often abused by their drunk mother. Both of them were a result of an unplanned pregnancy with a powerful politician who was a presidential candidate at that time. Not wanting to destroy his chances in the election, the twins were kept hidden by the mother in exchange for money. 

His younger twin had a weaker body, and thus more prone to their mother’s bullying; so it was always up to Seven to look out for his brother and protect him whenever their mother throws a fit.  At times, when she’s in a drunken stupor, Seven would sneak Saeran out of the house to let him have a glimpse of the outside world, to which his twin is grateful for. 

During spare moments, Seven would  study in secret from a programming book that he got in order to become a hacker and support his brother, once they’ve managed to run away.

At some point, Seven meets with a young Rika and V in a church. Both of them become aware of Seven’s circumstance and tries to help him by suggesting he change his identity and work for a hacking company. At first Seven refuses because he doesn’t want to leave his brother behind. But V was able to convince Seven and promised that they will take care of him in his stead. Trusting his words, Seven left his home, and became a full-fledged hacker.

During the seventh day in Seven’s route, Unknown was able to bypass Seven’s security. Sensing danger and fear of your safety, Seven immediately goes to the apartment and saves you in time from Unknown, which turned out to be none other than Saeran. It is then revealed that Saeran had joined a cult called Mint Eye and is out for revenge against Seven for betraying him and abandoning him with their abusive mother. 

This revelation devastates Seven, and is enraged with V for lying to him and not keeping his promise.

Throughout your interactions with Seven, you will be relentlessly be pushed away by him because he thinks that he doesn’t deserve happiness; and that everyone he loves will be destroyed because of him.

If you choose to remain by his despite everything and make him realize that no matter what sordid past he has, you will accept all of him, then you will be able to unlock the after events  of his ending, which brings closure to all the loose ties in the Mystic Messenger storyline. 

III. Others

Rika

The founder of RFA and V's lover/fiancee. It's been said that she jumped off a cliff due to her mental illness but her body was never recovered. In reality, she succumbed to her illness and later formed a separate cult called Mint Eye, whose main goal is to recruit the existing RFA members and take them to paradise along with the other worshippers.

V/ Hiyun

 The acting leader of RFA. He's a famous photographer and Rika's lover/fiance. After her supposed death, his been showing less of himself in the RFA and seems to be always busy and out of town. In Seven's route, it's been revealed that he was actually been going undercover inside Mint Eye, in order to get closer to Rika and to monitor her activities. 

Unknown

The one responsible for bringing you to the apartment to infiltrate the RFA in the first place. Later in the story (especially in Seven's rout), he's revealed to be a member of Mint Eye, as well as Seven's other twin Saeran . Having a weak constitution since birth, he was brainwashed by the cult into thinking that his brother had abandoned him at the hands of their abusive mother and is now out for revenge.

Miss Vanderwood

A male agent who also works at the same secret agency 707's works for. Forever nagging at Seven to finish his work ASAP, he also has little patience with regards to 707's messy living environment to the point of cleaning his living quarters himself. 

Elizabeth 3rd

Jumin's pet cat. Her name was originally given by V, but is usually called “Elly” by Seven, much to Jumin’s annoyance. Likes to torment Jaehee whenever she’s under her care, and also a constant source of Zen’s allergy whenever Jumin brings her up in their conversations. 

CONCLUSION

When I first heard of this game from a friend of mine, I was totally in denial. I  didn’t want to succumb to the growing fandom of this otome game (blame my pride and hipster ideology) and even laughed my ass out at the sheer idea of playing Mystic Messenger. But during a long (none-Ian) weekend that bored me to tears, curiosity got the better of me. So in the end, I wound up installing this app just for the lolz and started playing it...

...only to fell DEEPLY IN LOVE with the story, its characters and everything else in between.

Welp, there goes my pathetic pride, lol 

What I love most about this game, aside from its amazing concept and storyline, is the authenticity and humor of the conversations in the chatroom. The manner of how the script was written is so engaging and real that it feels as if your chatting with actual people and not 2d characters. From the spamming galore, typos, chat stickers and even the act of posting images inside the chat, you wouldn’t think that its just a game at all.

What’s more, aside from the funny conversations and breaking the fourth wall moments  that certainly brighten my day, there are rather surprising good advises and food for thought from the characters that can be applied in everyday life. Whether it be about business, love life or career goals, the message delivered certainly gives an impact to anyone who’s in that kind of situation. It’s not every day you get a legit advice from a non-human character right?

Another major aspect that is worth mentioning is how relatable the characters are in the game. Everyone has a certain characteristic that I can connect to, making the interaction with each of them more believable and easy to empathize.  It gives them more depth rather than the usual cookie-cutter character trope that is boringly indistinguishable from existing otome games.

If I were to do a breakdown of the traits of the characters and align it with my own, I’d be:

22% Jaehee - Because like her, I suffer the same career path problems that she has (Earning well but has yet to reach her dream job). I also constantly doubt myself and my skills, and is cautious and pessimistic by nature.

22% Jumin -  Because I sometimes suck at jokes; But more importantly, I become very possessive when it comes to the people I love, and must constantly keep myself in check lest the people I care for get suffocated.

22% Yoosung - Because we both share the same past of being a former honor student that later on fell from grace due to addictive gaming. We also have a nagging mother, as have similar gullible tendencies.

22% Seven - Because I’m a total troll and an outright geek. AND A SADIST TOO, HAHAHA. Oh, and my profession is also related to programming. 

12% Zen - I can be a total narcissist sometimes (as evident in my multiple OOTD posts in this bloody blog, lol); But in terms of love, passion and emotion, I have the same fire as him too. Oh, and my family’s also conservative.

The RFA family

The only things that I saw that need improvement are minor grammar and spelling errors for english text; a few behavioral bugs here and there;  and  the inconsistent art style presented in its CG images.

But other than that, this is one of the most amazing otome games I’ve encountered in a long while. 

I definitely get the hype from this fandom now, ROFL.

   The 707 effect. Super psyched to have found these at a local Korean mart near my workplace. 

To end this post, I’d like to make a virtual toast of Dr.Pepper to the makers of Mystic Messenger.
