hello yes it is me I'm here so recently I had an idea for a zombie apocalypse dnd campaign centered around Waffle House employees and yesterday I was watching TLOU and because I have no idea how zombies work I was like I'm gonna base how zombies work kinda on how it works in TLOU because I have no creativity at all SO then I saw a tik tok explaining how the fungus would actually work aaaand hey fun fact the fungus doesn't actually enter your brain at all. Which meaaaansss the fungus just spreads throughout your body and takes control of all your limbs n shit without controlling the brain at all. The brain remains untouched. You are conscious while this happens. You are conscious after this happens. You are conscious until you die.
So anyway I have ideas now.

Okay but does Peri KNOW that Dev has a robotic leg when he shows up? Something about the fact that Peri's wand is a cane and the fact that Dev could have kept his leg and just had a cane for the rest of his life instead tickles my brain.
I mean he doesn't know immediately, he wasn't like briefed or anything, but he basically lives in Dev's house so he definitely finds out. Peri doesn't comment on or react to it all though really, there's no reason for him to think anything of it, plenty of people have missing limbs, a lot of people are born without them, it doesn't necessarily mean anything sinister happened. He had no reason to pry or ask and I think Peri's lack of reaction to it helped Dev feel a bit more comfortable in his skin. (Not by much but.. a little bit.)

On one hand, I want a final fantasy 6 remake, because the game is criminally underrated and the amount of fan content (which is all absolutely fantastic btw) is Not Enough for my neurodivergent, hyperfixating brain.
On the other hand, that would inevitably encourage more people to join the fandom, which would be great, except it seems these days the bigger a fandom gets the more toxic it becomes, and I really like what we have going on over here in our little corner. We all just love the game and its characters and nobody fights about who should and shouldn't date who or who you shouldn't like because they're ~problematique~. Nobody's trying to make one ship morally better than another, nobody's calling anyone names or threatening to doxx people who don't agree with their opinions. It's so peaceful and I love that for us. We're just vibing. Moisturized. Unbothered. In our lane. Flourishing.

i've decided that byan has been admitted to a psych ward once. it was at 14, an involuntary hold after their overdose, and it contributed heavily to their fear of hospitals and distrust in doctors & nurses. after all, if they were kept against their will once, who's to say it won't happen again?

i do think rachel’s androgyny/masculinity is sometimes linked to her dystopian origins/her trauma in her early appearances...this is part of why the body shoppe has such an appeal, why it shows her this very feminine and unrecognizable version of herself, and why she dresses much more femininely in excalibur.
i think there are still ways to read a gnc rachel into these representations! that’s my preferred reading for sure. idk i don’t have a closing thought. i guess my closing thought is that in part bc of this link rachel has a lot of thoughts on her own gender presentation and i find those extremely interesting, esp when reading rachel as gnc.

oh great so you're telling me that a young girl neglected by her parents and drugged to the gills since childhood goes into the fucking wilderness and runs out of those meds and is in a stressful situation and starts hallucinating/having delusions/being a vessel for some entity??? and all she does is do some silly little rituals and do group therapy techniques and everyone starts feeding into her delusions and then they kill & eat someone in her name when she's like decomfuckingposing in the attic and then she's gaslit into thinking she was involved, that she was at fault, because her off the lifelong meds psychosis "started" all of this and now she's their jesus even though she told them that if she died they should eat her all she ever wanted to do was fucking help them to give them hope and now she's elevated into something not-lottie, she's twisted into a prophet, she's not their teammate or another teenage girl she's the messiah and all of this is her fault
then they get rescued and she's shipped off to a psych ward and shock therapied and no one checks in on her and who gives a fuck really, they're out of the wilderness, lottie can't do anything for them anymore, and she becomes the scapegoat for all of their fucked up deeds and desires and she's already gaslit to hell and back over this
then she starts a silly little commune full of other 'broken' people just vibing and having a home and safety and she's helping people like she always wanted to do before the yellowjackets took her good intentions and warped them and told her that she warped them and then one of her friends is going to kill themselves so she takes her and brings her to the commune to try and heal her, to help her, to undo the damage she never meant to wrought, and then boom all of her alive old teammates are here dragging their own shit and trauma with them acting like she's the devil incarnate to shoulder their guilt and now she's hearing about their various crimes and triggered into a psychotic break when she was doing good before this and now that friend she tried to save is dead and she's in another fucking mental institution because no one wants to deal with lottie even though she's the 'monster' they created (lowkey in their minds) and now the silly little commune's fucked and her followers are probably wondering if any of it was ever real and all lottie wanted to do was help to provide hope all she did was care
oh but sure, she's the problem
like what the actual fuck?

Want to know why I never trust the "protect the children!" crowd?
Almost always the people doing really harmful shit, or even very potentially harmful shit, to children are in that crowd.
They're often the type that circulate actual CSA materials as a bizarre gotcha to people they are bullying and calling pedos (as an example, remember the campaign against ao3 staff a while back were policy and abuse volunteers were getting sent this shit).
They are also frequently the ones to include graphic violence and implied or actual graphic sexual abuse in fics deliberately mislabled as General Audiences and tagged in a way that makes the fic seem like harmless fluff. All because they want to harass a group of people and don't care if children and teens stumble upon it. Technically children shouldn't be on ao3 (at least not as registered users since the ToS require you to be at least 13), and generally I say that it's up to children who do go to ao3 to be careful of what they read and mind the tags and ratings. But how can they do that if you deliberately mistag and misrate your fic.
In short, "protect the children" is more often than not a dog whistle. It can be one for the "we must control our children and everything they learn" crowd (frequently but not always evangelicals here in the US) or it can be one for the "I need a weapon to dehumanize, attack and traumatize those I dislike and this serves as both a weapon and a cover for my harassment and abuse of others. After all, I can just say I'm doing this horrible things to protect innocents even though I'm actually deliberately harming or setting up potential harm to children through my actions." Often it's a mix of the two camps. Ultimately, they don't actually care about children, it's just a nice smokescreen.

helaena doesn't have a favorite child. the way she interacts with each of them is different, but the only thing one might argue would be showing favor to one over the other is that she'd indulge maelor and jaehaera more. she loves jaehaerys; but he is aegon's son, the son of the realm, the firstborn. he will have everything, his mother's love included, but he's never simply hers. maelor was a baby, but even had they grown older, she knows he would struggle with not being given everything like his brother. the world would be less giving to him; she could indulge him a little more. but jaehaera... she is the one who'll have the least say on what happens to her. she is the one people won't see as valuable in the same way her brothers are. it's not that she is the favorite. it's that helaena would like her to be as happy as she can possibly be while the two of them have some say on it.
when b&c happens, helaena doesn't scream or cry or panic. in the book, it's said she kept calm and tried to talk to the attackers, and i find it reasonable and believable because i'm much the same in dangerous anxiety-inducing situations, especially if there's someone else i'm looking after and who i need to protect. i think she didn't even have the time to panic. her mother was being held hostage, her children were in danger; she had to get them out.
what she does when she realizes there's no way to avoid bloodshed is what's the only logical solution for her: try to make herself the sacrifice. letting her children die is not an option, and trying to fight would only end up with all of them killed; she cannot seriously harm their attackers, and buying any time for the children would mean nothing. maelor is 2. alicent is tied to a chair. if she does that, she'll sentence more than just herself to death. but if it's just blood they're after, then she can sacrifice hers.
except she can't and they ask her to choose and not complying isn't an option when they threaten to abuse her daughter and to just kill them all. helaena didn't choose one or the other out of favoritism. it wasn't because she cared more for one than the other. she chose because there's no better option, and if she can protect jaehaera and maybe let her and one of her brothers walk away alive, she has to do it.
maelor is chosen on account of his age. it's horrible no matter how you look at it, but helaena thought it'd be less cruel, if only because he was too young to actually know what was going on. jaehaerys and jaehaera understand the threats and the situation. he would know his mother sentenced him to die. he'd know what would follow. maelor wouldn't.
except of course none of them knew what would follow, and they took jaehaerys' head anyway.
helaena doesn't love her children less after it happens. it's because she loves them all that she can barely stand to be near them. she looks at jaehaera, and she can only see what's missing; they were a set of two, inseparable, so very alike. in a few years her daughter would probably look very different, but then and there she's the image of her dead twin, the child she couldn't save, the one whose head was cut off right in front of her and whose blood seems to stain her hands ever since, impossible to wash out. she loves jaehaerys and she lost him. she loves jaehaera, but most of the time she can't even be there for her daughter as she should.
maelor is her baby. the youngest, her little boy, her only boy. helaena loves him to death and she can't bear to look at him as a result. she chose him to die. she looks at him and she hears the echoes of you hear that, little boy? your mom wants you dead and she feels sick. the boy isn't the issue. she is. what kind of mother chooses one of her children to die? what kind of monster? she hates herself too much to be near them. what good would it be anyway? there are people who'll be kinder, protect them better. how can she ever hold them close knowing her hands are covered in blood?
grief leaves her devastated, but self-loathing destroys her.

I think a really fun take on Rinzler having two discs and two batons at all times is bc he's literally two people. He's Rinzler AND Tron and he just likes to have two of everything bc it makes them both feel better lol. Maybe Tron lives in the back of Rinzler's head and keeps him company but Clu put Rinzler in charge so that's all he can do.
Then when Tron breaks free of his repurposing Rinzler is a gremlin living in the back of Tron's mind telling him to Commit Crimes and eventually they work out some kind of understanding lol. Rinzler is allowed a little murder. as a treat. They take turns being in control

I think I understand now why I'm honest to Stars nervous every time I interact with online communities like the animation meme one, the furry one, etc.
It's for the exact reason why I'm terrified of talking to former classmates who entered nursing school.
A huge majority of the vocal minority never left behind their grade school bully mentality. I'm not kidding, throwing insults, or even calling anyone childish. This is as big of a problem as it is in nursing, and it takes lives in the exact same way. I'll explain.
Having had family who were in the medical field, I have heard utter horror stories about one side of nursing. Not even in a medical malpractice sense. But how some of them can have the sweetest, "empath" mask on when they are around you, but will smear your name behind your back at the very least, try to get you disciplined/fired (especially if you're a "rival" nurse/student) at unfortunately common worst.
Now, because I am a firm believer in nuance, I have to state that for as many malpracticing nurses there are, there are just as many nurses who put their patients before their ego always. I myself have had several nurse family members who didn't have even the slightest infraction to their records, and retired late despite how their patients AND fellow MPs yearned for them to stay.
But, it has to be said: It only takes one to kill. One word, one intentional slip-up, one accidental pill too many. The side of the accuser only need speak, while the side of the victim has to frantically fight for their right to the role- to the life- they worked so hard for.
Why? Well, because it's easier to destroy the perceived enemy than it is to build your own self up. Destroying the competition has been a tale as old as time, and it can ALWAYS be for the pettiest of reasons.
If you want more of your supervisor's attention for better odds at better pay, intimidate and belittle nurses of your standing or lower so they're demotivated, demoralized, and struggling in comparison.
Hell, if you just don't like another nurse, watch their every move, and rat on the few, harmless, honest mistakes they made!
Who cares how many patients die, either because of a growing lack of nurses, or because of straight up nurse-on-nurse sabotage!
Do you see where I'm going with this?
Do you see how people can put the grandstanding of their own ego above entire LIVES?
The near-homeless artist whose callout you are mindlessly reblogging, what of their life?
The kinky trans woman?
The genderqueer person with neopronouns and "conflicting" labels?
The literal teenager who doesn't- and CANNOT- know better because of their horrifically bigoted family? Not without external guidance, of which they can only have through the online, and are immediately shunned from?
You all want an easy answer.
There are none here.
There never will be.
The only answer is to practice media literacy, to wait until both sides have come out with their sides of the story, and to understand a very rarely spoken of Golden Rule:
If it isn't hurting anyone nor contributing to harm period, mind your own business.
Otherwise, if still hard pressed:
What do YOU get out of ending the life of someone as they know it?
If it's the same sense of satisfaction a cop would get, I don't know what to tell you.
All I know is that you cannot, AND SHOULD NOT, be doing their "job" for them.
And if you do, wipe that ACAB off of your bio.
We do not use the weapons of the oppressor on our own. ESPECIALLY on our youth.

Oops, I lied about sending all my questions in one, I thought of an actually specific question and not just a super general one five seconds after sending the ask:
Do you have any neurodivergent hcs for Buster and Gob(or other characters if you hc anyone else as neurodivergent)?
This is such a good question!! Okay!! It got long so I'm putting it under the cut, but TLDR: undiagnosed comorbid autistm and ADHD for both of them plus ADHD Tony Wonder :) I forced myself not to get into it with the rest of the Bluths cause this post would be a mile long but i did put cursory thoughts about them in the tags. All of this is spitballing and I'm definitely open to hearing other opinions!
Whatever is going on with Buster’s brain is the same thing that’s going on with my brain, so most likely ADHD and/or autism but DEFINITELY undiagnosed. None of the Bluths have the diagnoses they need and if someone (Tobias) tries to so much as allude to them being neurodivergent in front of George Sr. and/or Lucille it gets shut down immediately.
Anyway Buster reads more autistic than ADHD to me but it could be either or both. He has trouble reading other people’s emotions and regulating his own, he’s “strange” and “childish” in ways that are direct responses to how he was raised but also just read as neurodivergent, he’s got safe foods and takes things literally and has no clue how to read social cues and stims and gestures vaguely at all of him is just so very ND. Also the thing with ADHD-havers being randomly struck with bouts of guilt or self loathing? I think that’s him. ADHD was recently reclassified as an anxiety disorder, too, which we know full well is Buster, and it would not surprise me if his panic and anxiety attacks were brought on by sensory overload and RSD and other ADHD things at least some of the time.
As for GOB, I think he’s got the same deal but he reads more ADHD than autistic. I think they both have both but it presents differently in each of them. I’m fully on board with both magic and bees being special interests for that man, and he also just moves and talks and interacts with people in a very neurodivergent way. The stuttering when he’s overwhelmed is, to me, adjacent to (if not straight up being) him going nonverbal. He definitely has RSD too, look at how devastated he is when anyone rejects him ever. And I wouldn’t be surprised if he was bipolar, getting manic when he’s really into a project and then falling into depression for weeks or months at a time.
And, just as a bonus, I think Tony Wonder has ADHD. He recognizes it in GOB and helps him with learn to function in a healthier happier way and his siblings are so confused cause GOB just magically started getting more normal?? Except it’s not magic (and it’s not an illusion lmao) it’s just coping mechanisms. Tony’s been collecting them from various therapists for like 30 years. He has no clue how anyone in this family thinks they’re neurotypical.
