I don't why it didn't occur to me that Karl Urban would be able to speak a bit of German (since his father is German). But a friend (who knows of my obsession with him and that I took German all through high school) just sent me a video of clips where he spoke it. And now I'm a stupid fangirl mess.

So, in case y'all didn't know ; German with a bit of Kiwi accent sounds adorable as fuck. Or at least Karl makes it sound that way.

Some jewish Noel HCs based on conversations with my jewish girlfriend! To give you the gentile's digest version:

Personally, Noel being a religious jew is my favorite. He would reject the idea that The King and such other entities are actually gods -- which would probably piss Hastur tf off. Something arthur would probably appreciate is the fact that Noel EXPLICITLY would not prostelytize.

I think Noel would observe shabbat weekly (sundown on friday to about an hour after sundown on saturday, by the greogrian calendar) but maybe performs work if necessary (you arent supposed to, but saving lives takes precedent over holidays. Every time he does work during shbbat, he says "that's what Yom Kippur is for"). But his favorite holiday would be Rosh Hashanah. That's one of the holiest days in judaism, and I think he'd hold onto that pretty strongly especially following his experience in the Dreamlands. It requires a lot of prayer and specific customs, and I think that anchoring to his faith and his history would be grounding for him.

Y’know every time I see the turtle tots playing with their original weapons I’m always flabbergasted that Splinter let Leo have a literal sword as a small child.

And then left him unsupervised with it.

Like, at least the others had blunt weapons (though still dangerous in their own right, especially Raph’s blunt tipped sais) but Leo’s katana are so easily lethal that it’s a miracle he seemed to be a natural with them. Because, if he wasn’t a natural then…oof.

It’s at least a good thing he only got one sword at first and not his usual two. Splinter would’ve needed to count his lucky days because OOF.

so the main theme of my original shatterspace is wisp races, right? where the winner is awarded possession of the trophy that has the paradox prism shard in it. i've said that already, but there's actually more to the races than just that.

see, in this world, g.u.n. also exists. i mean, they must--since project callisto exists. and since it's a rouge-centric world, i figured it would just makes sense for Ms Agent Rouge to still be, well, an agent.

so, g.u.n. has their headquarters in deepfreeze (since both gerald's laboratory and rouge's home base are also in deepfreeze). and g.u.n. has an active investment in the wisp races. why? because the holder of the trophy also holds political power over the fractured world. basically, the winner makes the rules.

on top of that, the races are a perfect excuse to continue their research into the wisps that they started with gerald and project callisto. i was thinking that, while all mobians naturally form a bond with a wisp, it's extremely rare for a human to do so. project callisto aimed, among other things, to bridge that gap... hence, callisto being maria's bonded wisp.

and because of the political power promised by winning the wisp races, g.u.n. seeks out mobians who have particularly strong wisps. they "recruit" (read: force) them to participate in the races on their behalf... just in case their golden girl alabaster fails to hold onto the champion title. (related: hatchet, having TWO wisps, would've been a prime target for g.u.n.... but because alabaster keeps him close to her, he's granted safety... so long as she keeps winning.)

g.u.n.'s recruitment campaign also plays into this shatterspace's version of cream. her wisp (the equivalent of cheese) was clocked as being A Strong Wisp basically right off the rip, so they wanted her to join the races at a young age. vanilla, obviously, was having none of that. but g.u.n. doesn't really take no for an answer. so... they "disposed" of her. but they weren't able to grab cream, since syzygy appeared just in time to save her from their grasp.

told my therapist my antidepressant/adhd meds have been working great and I feel truly productive for the first time ever. they told me to make sure I don’t fall into the belief that I don’t need them anymore and quit taking them.
