🎊 twst 4th year anni ABEMA stream 🎉
Tumblr media
***TWST JP news + anniversary spoilers below the cut!***
The stream starts with Ace, Deuce, Jack, Ruggie, and Sebek's VAs replying to a bunch of quiz questions. I think Ace or Deuce responds with "810" when asked how many items there are on the Heartslabyul lounge's coffee table. Sebek's VA also has a hilarious answer when asked how many Draconians (wakasama fans) there are, he pulls out some super absurdly high number with tons of zeros in it.
There is then a Master Chef/Culinary Crucibles-type section where the VAs decorate their own cake for TWST's anniversary. It’s a team effort! Ace and Deuce put on the cream, Sebek added cookies on top, and Jack and Ruggie did the final decorations. It ended up looking pretty cute ^^ (Ace's VA is the one that added all the whipped cream peaks; it was mostly thanks to Ruggie's VA that the cake still looked aesthetically pleasing at the end.)
Actual game-related news time!!! The SR Grim card for the 4th anniversary is... drumroll please...!! 🥁Apprentice Chef Grim!!! ABGKSKVUkvuDSQEVUOFDFIHAFVA HE'S SO CUTE, HE EVEN HAS A LIL TUNA CAN CAKE 😭
Tumblr media
For anniversary, there will be a series of free items given out if you log in during the event period (11th to 25th), which includes THREE 10-pull keys (released on the 11th, 15th, and 18th, respectively). You can receive up to 12 days' worth of freebies. There will be an anniversary banner as per usual; you can earn tokens by pulling on this and then trade them in for a SR magical key (50 tokens) and/or past event-limited SSRs (150 tokens), including past years' birthday cards (100 tokens). There will be a new "Event Recollection" feature which allows you to experience events that you may have missed getting the initial chance to play through yourself.
Mr. S's Mystery Shop will sell items from past events such as limited Groovy materials and spell upgrade materials. This is called the "Memory Shop".
You will be able to mark (multiple) parts of the story as your "favorite". This will be indicated with a pink heart icon.
Battles will have a new feature which allows you to save team compositions for them. Up to 25 compositions may be saved at a time. You can also pin your supports, so you no longer have to scroll to find a specific friend's character to borrow.
There will be 3 new item gachas added to the "Item Lotto" of the shop (for Crewel, Vargas, and Trein). Previously, there was only Sam's. You use a new type of medal (obtained by taking classes) to roll on the teachers' lottos, and can pull items related to what you'd typically earn in each of their classes.
Crewel's gacha may provide an herbal tea which can be used to boost Buddy Levels, including those for characters that are otherwise unable to take Alchemy classes. That means Crowley, Rollo, etc. are fair game. (Yes, you can force feed them tea to obtain FRIENDSHIP✨) The tea may also drop during Special Lessons or Alchemy class.
We finally get magical key conversion! On the summoning screen, you can turn 10 single pull keys into one 10-pull key (which guarantees at least 1 SR; single keys do not have this benefit).
The Guest Room will receive a second floor to decorate. This will be unlocked once you reach a Guest Room rank of 31.
The Guest Room rank cap will be increased from 30 to 40. Additionally, all properties of floor 1 appears to carry over to floor 2. This means the same comfort level and attributes will be present across both.
New BGMs will be added to Mr. S's Mystery Shop. There will also be new voice lines added to Alchemy, Flying, and the outfit selection screen. The official TWST soundtrack will be released on the 29th of May, though preorders are tentatively open now. It is 140+ tracks (149, to be exact!) across 4 discs and goes for 4620 yen (inclusive of tax; without tax the soundtrack is 4200 yen). Japanese retailers are offering different dorms' A5 sized holographic sticker sheets as bonuses for preordering.
That's it for now, mostly quality of life changes! There will most likely be a 4th year anniversary PV/animated short on the actual anniversary day (the 18th)!

Major Update
Yumekuro will be ending service on November 19, 2024 at 12:00 JST.
Below is some information on Yumekuro Offline, a version of the game that can be accessed even after the servers close. Please let me know if I missed anything important.
Yumekuro Offline
Yumekuro Offline is a static copy of your user data. You will be able to preserve and view all progress you personally have made in the game, but you cannot build your account or obtain new cards.
To download your data, click this button in the lower right of your home screen. The file size will depend on how much content is in your account.
Tumblr media
The download option is available from now until November 19, 2024.
After completing the download, if you obtain any new data (ie. new cards or story chapters), they will not carry over to your version of Yumekuro Offline by default. You must redownload your data to preserve any new content you acquire. You can redownload as many times as needed.
IMPORTANT: You will not be able to regain access if you delete or try to reinstall the app after November 19. Some devices have a setting that automatically offloads apps or puts them into "deep sleep" mode. Please make sure to turn this setting off if you're worried about losing access.

sell me on ur time princess game. if you can sell me i will use whatever that code thing is if you give it to me
Alright boss hear me out.
Dress Up Time Princess is a game. But! It's a game with a story with choices, otome elements and, most importantly, the ability to dress your main bitch up in BOMB clothes. Your main girl as you play as is a so-called traveler I honestly forgot the lore because I originally installed this last year, but the short of it is that you have this magic lantern which can transport you into various worlds as some sort of main character, and there you🫵 have to make your choices.
We have a world where you are put in Marie Antoinette's shoes and have to AVOID THE ENTIRE FRENCH REVOLUTION FROM HAPPENING. And you can romance The King Louis XVI, fucking Lafayette or some Swedish c(o)unt tbh I didn't care much for Fersen. He's okay.
What else do we have. I'm still finishing Marie so I can't give in-depth for other stories. We have the Magic Lamp, which is an Aladdin off-shoot. I think. We have Swan Lake where you are the princess being pressured to find a husband, and the Swan Princess is a Prince
Tumblr media
I like the villain better tho love and peace.
We have Saga of Viera which slav-baited me bc I thought Viera was a slavic name (as Vjera... ) but it's some sick fantasy look at these fits oml
Tumblr media
Madam has a TAIL. Also wait fits for Marie and Swan (2×) and Lamp
Tumblr media
Shadows of London!! I know not what it's about but it has Priscilla and a vampire ig idk and the fits are actually v historically accurate?? (Unlike Marie. No panniers on that girl)
Tumblr media
She has crinolines and bustles.!!!!! There's Tang Dynasty Hunters which is Chinese fantasy!! There's more than one but I can only show you fits from the stories I own
Tumblr media
Look at this. Mwah. Chef's kiss. And I also have House of Horrors which I just bought so idk what it's about, but it has ouji and lolita and some vibey shit
Tumblr media
Anyway. Enough of the fashion show. Let me tell you about the GAME.
Tumblr media
There are flowcharts here. I actually play with a guide to get the ending i want :3 but you don't have to start over to get all endings at least. I can't even tell you what genres you have bc you have a Lot
Tumblr media
There's wild west, wuxia, pirates, victorian, modern, horror, mystery, romance, there's So Much. These tickets are easy to get so you can collect em and shit don't worry. A lotta them have trigger warnings too so you can know what you're getting into!! But basically, you get a story, you get your companions (important side charas, Louis XVI, Lafayette, the Swan Prince and Owl Magician, all that fancy shit. Tang Dynasty has some dude with fish ears btw) (you can have romances with some of them🤙), you make choices through the stories, and multiple endings. I know Swan Lake has a few? With the main endings being the Prince, the Villain and "no husband for me, get fucked, men". You can get beheaded in Marie😃 (off-screen). You need the good clothes to pass stages, though, it's like Love Nikki. Craft and collect, use your drip to its max.
There's also gacha because of COURSE there is, but it's like? Surprisingly nice? You can get tickets easily with logins and events, and you can choose a fave book (even if you don't own it) to only get clothes from it (or you can leave it fave-less to get any clothes). It's neat🤙 there's a lotta shit but that's the main of it.
Anyway. If you do install it.
Use my invitation code (f6aa6vk37) in the royal invite section. Mwah.

Reincarnation is a cage and I cracked it (hehehehehehehehe) 063y Recollections of Dusk
I called that part right in the first section where they're like "If he had a wife or a child he might care, but without he just does what he's told" (see here (VOICE OF CARDS SPOILERS) relatively far down, below the stories section) and also hehehehehehehehe it's once again about Reincarnation is a Cage theory!!! It's the best. I love this game so much. You can keep Automata, I will be here with the shitty gacha game q=q
If NieR Reincarnation as a whole is about the loss of agency through "Reincarnation" it seems like the RoD stories are the characters' moments of "reclaiming" their agency. I haven't read/thought about a whole lot of them yet (since most of the characters I really care about are all in Season 2 lol) but with this one it certainly applies:
063y and F66x are stuck in an eternal cycle because their reincarnation already traps them in a predetermined "reason" to continue this cycle, but now that these reasons fall away through this "anomaly" they finally get to choose for themselves - and even if they end up choosing certain things that were put on them through Reincarnation they get to choose to do that.
It really makes an interesting parallel to Male Socialization. If you find yourself without the child and without the wife you're expected to have and you suddenly learn that the system you are born into abuses the fact that you should have feelings for your child/wife to make you perpetuate it for [reasons not found] - What do you do? To that I also want to point out that the final still looks like this:
Tumblr media
It's framed by vines and there's even a closed flower right there, as if it's sleeping right next to them. It seems like maybe the flower doesn't even care that they're there. Maybe this "War against Flowers" isn't actually this "Fight or Humanity is over" situation the clones are told it is - just like certain things men are currently fighting against as if it's this revolutionary thing they need to push back against or Masculinity is dead (It's Feminism, I'm talking about Feminism here)
But 063y has found himself finally free of all these burdens the system placed on him - and he still gets to choose things he was supposed to choose before. He can still have a relationship with his destined wife and this time it means so much more because they chose to do so with their own agency.
[Insert "this is the future liberals want" here]

new!
alright, way bigger and more complicated update this time! there's going to be a lot of different folders added and changed and i'm going to break each one down in this format:
name of folder (location) - description.
it's quite long, so i put it all under the readmore! as always, check my pinned post for the link.
new folders:
miscellaneous characters (hkw > side characters > miscellaneous characters) - a folder of most of the characters in the "miscellaneous" section of the game. the "matsuno parents" folder will be merged with this one. Biggest_Chungus helped me with sprites: 38, 39, 42 - 45, 97, 119, 128, 194, 197, 201, 207, 209, 211, 227 - 238, 246 - 251, 256, 288, and 289.
unique sprites (hkw > unique sprites) - a folder with the "unique" sprites in hesokuri wars that didn't get their own designated section in the side characters area. varies from full sprite sheets to one single sprite. order has no significance. Biggest_Chungus helped me with sprites: 39, 40, 49, and 50.
sprites (unfinished) (hkw > sprites (unfinished)) - the sets i wasn't able to finish before the game shut down. Biggest_Chungus helped me with:
band (2days gig ursid black): oso band (2days gig ursid white): oso, choro, ichi big maniac (returns D): oso, choro, jyushi f6 (animal pajama): oso, ichi, jyushi youkai (tsukumogami): sprites 6, 7, and 10
objects (hkw > trashneyland > objects) - a folder of the objects/decorational pieces from trashneyland i was able to get.
floors (hkw > trashneyland > floors) - a folder of the floors you could place in your trashneyland as decoration. each floor piece consists of two parts.
backgrounds (hkw > trashneyland > backgrounds) - a folder of some of the "skins" trashneyland would change into based on the season. there's about 5 different parts of default trashneyland: the sky, the clouds, the "first" background, which includes the mountains and ferris wheel, the blimp, and the "second" background, which included the wall, bushes, and shrubs.
neet resumes bgs (hkw > miscellaneous > neet resumes) - bunch of folders containing either most or all of the neet resume backgrounds that came with purchasing stuff from the game.
story banners (hkw > miscellaneous > story banners) - has 2 sub folders (titled "gacha" and "stages") full of most, if not all, of the story banners from the game.
icons (hkw > miscellaneous > icons) - folders of unit icons from the game, varying from the ones shown in teams, to ones shown when tapping on a unit, to the ones shown when viewing the "character gallery".
point counters (hkw > miscellaneous > point counters) - a folder full of the "point counters" from story events in the game, which would track how many event points you had to roll in the gacha.
changes:
backgrounds (hkw > backgrounds) - added the last 3 backgrounds to the game.
band (j's dollhouse) (hkw > sprites > band (j's dollhouse)) - added the "band (j's dollhouse)" sextuplet unit.
and that should be mostly everything, i think! i may or may not continue to add more, since the game is over, but for now, this is it.

Tell us 1. Fun fact u know 2. Anything abt your ocs,, what you like about them, what you’d want fanart of, what you’re proud of,,, 3. TELL US favourite thing in any media you’ve consumed or made recently
RAPIDLY DESCENDS UPON THIS ASK LIKE A SHARK SMELLING BLOOD
also puts this under the cut bc. infodump
1) wild kratts is the objective best kids show of all time. this isn't an opinion this is an objective fact but it is also fun so therefore it's a fun fact. also squash and stretch in animation is incredibly fun and can make for some EXCELLENT smooth motion ALONGSIDE really funny freeze frames if you pause at the right moment
2) *slams a dozen folders on the metaphorical table* SO my favorite oc that i've ever made/owned ever is rigel, this information definitely isn't new if you've followed me for awhile and kept up with my oc bullshit. this would also normally be the part where i link a cool toyhouse profile or something for him but i don't have that so please imagine him in your mind. he's a bastard grey-haired white boy. thank you. oh and i can share actual art of him that too
Tumblr media
i'm also specifically proud of... a few things, really. please imagine me gesturing to The Whole Entire Rigel again thanks. i think i'm pretty decent at writing like... idk, complicated characters? gay idiots with a lot of personal issues. introspective character-driven stories that may-or-may-not involve smiting, denying, and/or killing god are my bread and butter.
also i'd be overjoyed at any fanart of my ocs but my current mood is fomal bc i'm writing him atm and he's so scrunkly. just. so very blorbo. very krispy kream bar that i wanna eat for lunch.
also also caeru, lark, and the aformentioned rigel make up a trio i like to call "the punching bag trio" because they're a trio of white men (by technicality in lark and caeru's case, both of them are utmv skeletons) that i like to use as go-to ocs to angst at any given moment. caeru especially. im sorry. you can make a whole infodump purely about caeru and rigel, both individually and together
3) ARKNIGHTS HAS ANGELS AND THE ANGELS HAVE GUNS. THE ANGELS INVENTED GUNS. ARKNIGHTS ANGELS INVENTED GUNS AND ALSO ALL THE GUNS IN ARKNIGHTS ARE CANONICALLY POWERED BY THE SETTING'S VERSION OF MAGIC (we know this because of an also-canonical crossover where "normal" humans got transported to gacha furry land and nobody knows what gunpowder is) AND THEY'RE BASICALLY LIKE SLIGHTLY STRONGER CROSSBOWS. also the sea in arknights is eldritch and sentient and wants to kill you and also also i think there's equally eldritch paint gods in the mountains somewhere? idk i wasn't playing during the event that revealed the latter. oh and speaking of the gun angels according to an event currently unreleased on the global server they're legally not allowed to shoot more than 5 bullets from their gun. under penalty of Something (probably definitely death). honestly as someone who adores angel aesthetics laterano scratches an inch that i can't describe but definitely exists
3.5) this is just a section devoted to sharing some of the sankta (angel) operators in arknights because they're all very shaped. good day

My honest, but with no big spoilers plot-wise, review about Tears of Themis.
Tumblr media
If you wanna get a general idea about how this game works, I think it’s fair to point out that one reminds me of very loosly of My Candy Love given the screentime we get with each character, it also reminds me of Ikemen for the tight plot and engaging story with a complex but still pretty straightfoward and it reminds me Queen's Choice in the composition of the app and with certain mechanics, as well, the possible only platonic type of relationship that you can get with the four male leads.
However and even so, Tears ot Themis is still pretty much it’s own thing with the Sherlock Holmes-like approach to the cases, it’s own world building with it’s own rules and pretty advanced technological set up and hits of retro/vintage elements here and there, with a very much anime styled storywise and artwise scenarios but a really tight and engaging plot.
So I don’t think it’s fair to draw any further comphrasions and instead let’s talk about my game experience with this one so far:
The game give us multiple ways of engaging with story/plot.
You have the main episodes to play, with criminal or civil cases to solve and win over.
Then in a different section, each male character has it’s own lockable side route, where you can know them better and get the spend some time with them after raising some affinity AND each card from the Gacha that you evolve and level up can have it's own little story that costs nothing and most of them feels like a date. I have played some of it and it's really really cute.
Now I think this game will approach romance in a more platonic way. The romance in the first four episodes and for what I saw so far, is very light, platonic and soft. I’m not sure if we will ever evolve to a full-relationship type of dynamic with the male leads.
However, I wouldn’t rule it out for the future just yet, since it feels like an otome.
We get some truly cute moments with MC that clearly has a lot of chemistry with all four of the male leads. They all have their own dynamic with her, different kind of relationships and levels of intimacy. Every moment we get to share with them feels different and they all are interesting, mysterious and charming around her.
They’re also all very linked to the plot in different ways, like Artem is also an attorney, meanwhile, Luke is a detective, and so go on and on - they all have their own weight to the plot, but it doesn’t feel unbalanced at all. I had a very pleasant surprise dealing with them in those different scenarios, because I never felt bored or annoyed by any of them in any shape or form.
The art of the game is gorgeous.
The backgrounds, the side characters, the main characters, the cgs!! Everything is so beautiful all the time that it can catch your attention really easily. The animation is also really well done, it doesn’t look weird even tho, looks very cartoony sometimes.
Some cgs don't have animations, most of the special ones do and when they do, they're pretty and cool. It’s totally something that you can stare and simp for hours kkkkkk I didn't dislike any of the ones I got, not even with the characters that I feel less connected with.
As a beta tester I can't really talk much about the cap in the points we get to play the game - because they gave us so much energy to test the most we could.
However, I can see how the energy points system will put certain cap on us, because you will need energy points for EVERYTHING - aside from somethings that you won’t, like the card’s stories. I pushed my limits somedays and I can see how this can push someone to actually spend money on the game to get through the story.
But I can’t point out if it’s gonna be super unfair or not yet, because, like I said, they almost give us infinity supply for the energy points, so I went through everything I had without thinking too much and I did almost run out of spare things to use, indeed, but I was commiting some mistakes and I just being full-on about it.
As a Gacha Game it’s what it is. I also can’t speak much about my experience with it, because they give a lot of things to us and I did spend everything I would got in game to get cards. I wasn’t really trying to get any that I really wanted, so I can’t speak about the frustration of not getting them - I got a lot of cool ones, but they did supply us with a lot of points to exchange for cards, so.
The system to level up the CG is the complex part. You can upgrate a card in way too many ways. However, I have played through the fourth episode and I didn’t find any block with the ones I had leveled up (I had 3/4 RS leveled up on their main level and I played without any worry at all).
I'm not going in dept about what each episode is about here, however, I need to point out that each case is pretty straightforward but really fun with a twist to play.
MC is an attorney, but she also acts like an investigator in a very Sherlock Holmes way, picking apart small things and piece together, with us the players, what happened. And to make it even funnier, we get to play a little bit of Ace Attorney in this game kkkkkkkk it has a really obvious inspo on that one and it's a really cool addition. Any one that at least are familiar with the memes can pick apart which parts have a nod to Ace Attorney.
That being said, every case doesn't really feel like a challenge per say. You won't fail the whole episode if you commit mistakes on the trials. The game is more about the journey than really create a challenge for us and I can see it as something good. Maybe some of you will hate it, but I was fine with how it was.
I wanna see which direction Mihoyo will take it story-wise (I’m actually really curious) since they're doing a such good job with Genshin's and Hokai's story. They both have really well tied up stories, with a dark twist and full of symbologies that gives clues to a bigger picture.
It feels like the cases of every episode for the main story are key for the major plot BUT not quite what the major plot is going to be, there’s for sure something bigger going on and I’m very interested to know what exactly it is.
Overall my experience with this game was really good.
I loved Artem and Marius, I’m totally taken by their personalities and by how handsome they are kkkkkk Luke is also super cute and handsome, he was a very pleasant surprise. Vyn is an interesting character, very morally grey and kinda shady but really trustworthy too kkkkkk which was a fun mix - but I would say he’s my less favorite.
I wasn’t expecting enjoy the story so much, but I did. I wasn’t expecting just how cute and charming the male leads are, Marius and Luke in special really surprised me and hooked me in. I was pretty sold on Artem alone, but now I’m there for them all. I wanna learn more about them and play more with their stories in the future.

Mars Red: Edge of the Nightmare - Review
Tumblr media
Now, my Tumblr has been a bit quiet lately (been queuing a lot of things so then it wasn’t too quiet during my absence), but it has been for a good reason; last month I was approached [on my private twitter account] and asked if I would be able to playtest a game and write a review, and of course, being someone that enjoys games, especially those that follow an otome style, I had to say YES.
So its proud to say that after a while of playing the game, I finally get to write this review.
Now before I get into the game itself, I would like to take the moment to give appreciation to the team for being so helpful during my time of playtesting the game and before that, as not only would they let us know when there was an issue and the date had to be pushed back, they were so polite and helpful whenever I would run into a problem. That’s something you’d want to see in a gaming company and I’m so glad that my first experience with this company is one with positive results. I personally found no issues with the team themselves, and I do hope they keep this up after the release. Thank you favary for being so lovely and patient with me, and other beta testers.
Mars Red: Edge of The Nightmare was the game that they asked for me to play, however when I originally looked at their website, I couldn’t help but notice that the concept was originally one of a ‘Sound Theatre’, and while I couldn’t figure out what that was, I eventually was lead down a rabbit hole and ended up looking at the other things that Bun-O Fujisawa has worked in. Very interesting stuff, just like the game. However, it’s best to look at his other stuff in your own time.
Please note: I will be keeping this spoiler-free for the sake of letting people go in with no idea of what’s going on besides what I mention and on the website.
Story
The game is set in the early twentieth century in Japan, or better known as the Taisho, in which the website also says ‘[is] influenced by Romanticism’, in which vampires rule the night, as they could only feed off blood and those that stepped into the sun would surely die. Keen senses, incredible physical abilities, and yet they were still vulnerable. You see that very early on with the main character that we play as; Yutsufusa Yuki, a vampire whom became one against his will.
I will be honest, I did not like Yutsufusa when I first started playing, as I felt like he was a bit too willing to die, but that is something that you can overlook when you get further into the story. Yutsufusa is obviously one of the youngest in the group, due to the fact he wears the more ‘modern’ [at the time] clothing out of everyone, well, there is someone else who wears similar clothing but he’s human.
You control Yutsufusa throughout the game, influencing his voices and living his life through his eyes, him acting as the reader insert as you learn about the other characters and begin to grow a bond with them. While the story is a bit slow at first, it does start picking up around the middle-end of chapter 1 and the beginning of chapter 2 after you play the prologue, as you begin to assist “Code Zero” in their work to rid the world of vampires that wish to feast on humans..
Be mindful that there is an anime, however, Yutsufusa does not appear in it, as it focuses on the other main characters, so if you have watched the anime already be sure to remember that they’re either two separate timelines or different points in time. I do not want to confuse anyone with this.
The main cast is quite an interesting bunch, as it covers a wide range of personalities, and sometimes even time periods as you play through the game and unlock things; you might say you might learn a bit of history from it if you end up looking up some of the references I’ve found in the game. This is a great reflection on the idea of ‘immortality, and even has moments where said immortality leans into a few jokes (such as knowledge of birds).
If you’ve played games such as ‘Ikemen Revolution’, you may be familiar with the ticket system. Every day you’re allowed a certain amount of tickets to progress through the story, however, if you run out of tickets and you must read more, then you’re able to progress the story via using ‘amber’, the game’s currency that you can use for different functions. However, this is not needed, as every day your tickets will be replenished. I personally found myself not even needing to use my amber, as I would always wait for the next day. There are mini-stories that you can get if you finish a chapter within a certain amount of time, but I personally don’t find them to progress the story a lot after I read the first one I got. Then again I had other things to occupy my time while I wanted as well. If you wish to reread chapters, you get a bonus third option of currency; coins. Coins can be used to reread chapters in the place of amber or tickets, which means that you can grind out coins via the exploration option in order to see more options (looked at a bit later).
I personally found the story to be engaging, between the use of minigames (or investigations, covered a bit later), it broke up the reading with fun activities that progressed the story.
Is the game an Otome?
No! I was shocked as well when I saw the all-male cast since I was wondering if I was playing a boys love game, but in the end, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this is actually a detective game. While it may carry the usual look of an otome, with the story and choices of how you speak influencing the endings of chapters, the game more feels like one of finding new friends and solving kick-ass investigations than finding romance. It’s refreshing.
This is especially true between the minigames in which helps influence the story that is all very unique in their own way and do not seem repetitive once you get into the flow of how they work.
Minigames
The minigames come forward in two forms; investigation, interrogation, and infer. Investigation sounds exactly how you’d expect, as you have to poke around and look at things, which you can review in a little notebook that sits in the top right of your screen in the case you need to review what you’ve looked at. When I was first launched into this section for the first time, I had a little trouble remembering exactly what I needed to look at (as I was given a set of things to tap), however, I do have to thank the team for thinking ahead and adding the option to be able to watch ads in order to see what you need to do. This was one of the two times I’d have to watch ads, as they don’t shove them in your face every few seconds like most mobile games do which is rather nice. Sometimes you gain information or items that you have to use later, so it’s a good idea to keep track of what you look at.
Interrogation acts as a question-based information gathering, in which you talk to NPCs in order to gather information to use in the investigation. Like Investigation, these points are put into your notebook for later.
Infer takes the first two investigation segments and combines the information, as you now get interrogated by one of the main characters, and you must respond back with the proper information in order to make sure that this segment is successful. You are able to read back on the notes from the other segments at this point by pressing the button with the book icon in the upper right corner, as this aids you in selecting the right answers. When I first came to this section, I did feel under pressure due to it, but it was interesting to see the negative answers from the character if I got it wrong.
Exploration is another part of the game, that while outside the story, there are parts that require a certain amount of story points in order to clear ‘point blocks’. This is where you get the coins from and frankly is good to use once you have finished using all your tickets for the day and want to use the rest of the time to grind coins. During the exploration, you set up 2 characters, a place, and a set [in real life] time of how long you want them to be out and about. Depending on the number of points earned, you may earn something called a ‘mummer’, which reveals more about the characters you chose to send out, and even get dialogue of the characters interactions (which can be pretty funny in itself) that shows the dynamic of the two characters- are they friends? Are things tense? You get to learn more by sending them out together.
Artstyle
As an artist, I was incredibly pleased with the art of the game, as the characters do not look the game, there are different body types and ages (from teen to elder), you never had to look at the same face twice for two characters. I will be honest, I do wish the characters were a bit more ‘animated’ with their expressions (such as body movement when they’re feeling certain emotions), however other than that, the sprites are magnificent.
The backgrounds are also really interesting to look at and even tell so much story before you even start investigating within the investigation sections. The design team also needs props, because while a few characters are wearing similar outfits, they’re all wearing them in different ways which shows their character and even the way they probably fight. Though I will say I am a bit biased towards Takeuchi, then again, I really enjoy fun and loud characters in general, and his hair is interesting in a sea of mostly black, purple, silver or blonde hair. Maybe will make a fanart of him in the future if I learn to draw his eyepiece. (on that note, please release the full sprites for us artists to reference, we’d love you eternally for it haha).
Oh no, it’s a-
Yes, its a bit of a gacha game, however, you do not need to actually play the gachas in order to progress through the game; it mostly just unlocks bits of story for those that want to have extra stories, or just want that extra dose of dopamine (haha, me). As someone who plays gacha games ever since they turned 13, I was glad that this game isn’t actually gacha centric, and thus is very free-to-play friendly due to this.
Who would I recommend this for and would I recommend it myself?
Personally, I think this is a game that suits the niche of those that enjoy a good mystery and even play those ‘find an item’ games, mixed in with those that enjoy reading otomes and history. Maybe even someone that enjoys theatre since there’s a character that does theatre. Would I personally recommend it? Yes, I would. The game is very interesting and engaging, the staff behind the game are so lovely.
Once more, here’s the game’s website link ❤️: https://marsred-game.net/en/

State of Roo Gaming conglomopost:
Alchemy Stars (summer event):
120 pulls no Fleur. I has sad. Got trolled by two 6* in the same element even.  Outlook bleak. This is gacha life. Game took a look at my A3 water team and said I didn’t need him. Game doesn’t understand thirst. : ( I need him.
That said, I am here for the energy of Fleur and Brock as Those Two Guys, even more so as Those Two Guys Who Absolutely Should Not Be Left Alone Unsupervised.
Summer story’s pretty interesting, though I did get bored with a lot of the beach-life stuff as I do in every gacha that does summer events sans GBF.  I don’t particularly feel anything toward Beryl, unlike Eve; she’s very passive so we haven’t seen any of her personal thoughts or feelings about much.  Hell, half the reason I’m so salty about Fleur is cause he actually got more development than Beryl did so far, which made me like him more than just a pretty face!
Humor beats are still pretty spot on though. And at least this game really knows how to make events feel like events.
3 more days and I’ll be done with Stage 4 for Regal, THANK GOD. The dispatches are such an annoying time-gate. I have a ton of energy packs saved up so I should be able to clear out Stage 5 much more quickly. Looking forward to getting my first Eternal Silent Hunter!
I ran out of characters I feel like A3ing so now I’m just grinding to level up equipment.
I don’t know if I should get Barton (who I do not have) or Nemesis (who I need one more copy of to max breakthrough and thus have her skill set to pre-emptive) from the free ticket they give. This is one of the few times where both would technically be dick picks, but one would be useful for meta (Nemesis is one of my core Thunder units) while the other I don’t have but would like to. DECISIONS!  At least the ticket doesn’t expire. i’ll end up forgetting about it most likely
GBF (lotto drama):
Man that lotto drama whaoooo.  I’m mostly retired/seasonal in GBF these days (and my loss of reliable/fast internet in a week will just compound that due to ping/racing/refresh) so I don’t really care, but just whao.
That said, I think with this being people’s last straw shows that some people really don’t know how to give things up on their own and don’t realize it’s okay to fall out of love with something you once enjoyed or spent a lot of time/effort/money in.  I saw a lot of complaints about X or Y no longer having magic/fun etc for them any more, and they still stick around cause they keep hoping that it’ll come back, and I can tell you—it rarely ever does if you stick around.  It’s okay to move on. That sunk-cost fallacy just does harm until only bitter feelings are left.
As for me, I did come out with a T3. Picked Nehan cause I always go dick picks in gacha and I was clamoring for a Nehan unit back during SoR’s original run. Used the second one to go meta with G.Narm though since there was nothing left for me to really get, but I dislike Narmaya so she can just sit there in my inventory with all her other versions CAUSE SHE WON’T LEAVE ME ALONE I guess.
Did literally nothing else though; just no real time to play grindblue lately.
Exos Heroes (director’s notes):
Hahaha, the devs noted they were nervous about how people would react to the first Memorial Saga and I BET IT WAS DUE TO THE TWIST LOL but anyone who has used Rachel or came from Exos Saga weren’t gonna be shocked. Regardless, the translation referred to the story as from “Ramge and Rachel’s youth” and I laughed cause IT TOOK PLACE A WEEK BEFORE THE MAIN GAME’S STORY????
Hope the 2nd MS ends up actually giving rewards for side quests.
Thank god though that they are going to implement a give up section for tag battles. I no longer have to set up [my absolute most hated character in this game] as a sacrificial character any more and can set up some more proper teams.
Infinity Core is still shit but at least now they will be showing what you’ll be facing the entire week instead of day-by-day reveals. Half of the issue is playing a guessing game on what FCs you need to hoard in case their theme comes up and thus purposely limit yourself from actually achieving higher stages.  Still wish they’d just allow you to keep the stage you’re on if you already cleared it in a previous week. Why the hell do I have to redo the stage(s) every week if I already passed it? At least quick battle will be implemented to a limited degree.
Glad they acknowledged the biggest problem in the game: inability for new players to catch up.  The gap between vets and newer players never ever narrows due to all the time-gating elements this game has.  I’ve been around the block in a lot of games and the ones who have this gap never has good player retention and ends up shrinking just to a core base of cliques until the game dies. Too bad no solutions offered.
I was disappointed Blue Kaya doesn’t buff HP for support units, then remembered HP is the biggest problem in PVP so yeah, no, nevermind, good on them for realizing that. Didn’t roll for her since I went ham on the summer banners and defense scales poorly in this game due to the HP inflation.
... oh man, I got momentarily excited when I saw Saint West was getting SF3. Then remembered Rachel, while from Saint West, is the heir to Saint West’s throne, and is basically labeled as Saint West in everything else in the game, is actually the general for Lenombe. Fuck me. When will they buff him. I’m tired of facing SF3 nations and seeing my nation’s gimmick being told to pound sand cause they refuse to buff his nation even though he’s fallen way off the meta a long time ago. i think i will literally blow a fuse if greenland gets sf3 before lenombe
In non director’s notes news, I linked up Shadowbane to Lenombe. Luna and Garlond are pretty fun to use and I hope to eventually slap them onto my WR team for tag week to see how that works out, but they worked really well in Infinity Core. Glad I finally have a viable Frost unit I can use since who is Bathory? She doesn’t know me.
Dunno who I’d put in Rudley’s spot since I use him so that my Lenombe team has at least more than one chance to kill these tanky SF3 nations. Zeon is just useless now due to the prevalence of Misty and I tried out Misty and she’s okay, but she’s not the best synergy with Lenombe. I wish A.Zeon would get his FC already so I can pair him with Schmid to get the Vagabond SF bonuses... (but I’m thinking the outcry against the genderbends pushed that back RIP...)
AND FINALLY. FINALLY!!! YOU CAN GET R1 GEAR AT YORM SHOP. OH MY GOD. I CAN FINALLY GEAR MY CHARACTERS. NO MORE HATING MY LUCK. /bloodtears

Note
ive never played/watched magireco but do you think the large cast is a part of iroha just being seen as “madoka 2” ?? ive never touched the thing because from what i know its much darker than the original anime, but i do know there’s like 20 thousand megucas in the game and each of them has their own story, so there’s plenty of characters that could be seen as more interesting. theres also the fact that a lot of people dont like gacha games (and magireco, other than being one, is sexualized quite a bit so that probably makes people steer away from it as well, but that’s another topic) and magireco NA no longer exists anyways so it’s harder to actually understand the new content, plus as far as i’m aware season 2 of the magireco anime has not been confirmed to be planned? correct me if i’m wrong on that though
hi!! i have a lot to cover with this ask, so i’m going to answer your questions as neatly as i can in a fun little numbered list. read under the cut!
1. what do you mean by large cast? if you’re talking about how there’s more characters in the game/anime than in the original series, then i don’t think that really has anything to do with iroha. it might just be to garner fans’ collective interest since the original anime hit it off so hard. also, it’s just really hard to please huge collectives of people, especially really critical anime fans... *shiver.*
2. i think iroha bearing a similar resemblance to madoka was used to draw old fans back in, as well as living up to the tradition of all “main character” magical girls having pink hair. iroha and yachiyo were probably meant to resemble madoka and homura at least design-wise, and also seeing iroha, madoka, and homura together in one image is visually appealing; the colors and the familiar faces next to a new face are nice to look at.
3. magia record is not nearly as dark as the original series! in the anime, there are no main-cast deaths. this does not inherently prove that a show isn’t dark, but literally, the only onscreen death is of yachiyo’s friend from her original team, and that was in a flashback... rather than slowly losing characters as the story goes on, it starts off with iroha alone, then she meets other magical girls and they form a team, etc. i go on about this on my blog bc, once again, in my opinion, magia record has much more hopeful undertones and actually gives the girls a chance to, well... live. it’s an alternate timeline(that madokami can’t interfere with, there’s lore to that) wherein glasses homura is the homura featured(she actually gets a lot of character growth in the game), the main quintet is all together, the mikazuki villa crew really are just the found family trope combined in a little package.
4. there are a few reasons for there being a lot of characters in the game, one of them being that they literally adapted every spinoff into the game. oriko magica, tart magica, suzune magica, kazumi magica... all those characters are there. then they added a bunch of side characters, which, i dunno? there are some side characters i really like and others i just kind of don’t really care about. but they really grow on you! .... most of them.
5. yeah, blegh. the game certainly has its flaws(the whole series does, but that’s another ask for another day). the anime is much, much less fanservicey though! i have my gripes about the designs and i certainly have my gripes about the way the characters are drawn sometimes (looking at you, swimsuit mami artist), but with me being an experienced gacha player (unfortunately) that was just something i decided to put up with in exchange for a fun story. i can see why people might get the misconception that the anime is just as sexualized, though. i don’t like the main characters’ designs that much, honestly... they all show too much skin, so i agree. weird.
6. season 2 was confirmed!
7. NA was discontinued right after the first arc of the series. disappointing (oh, i could go on), but we got to see a lot of iroha’s character development in the story.
8. what i was really trying to get across with that post was really just to gripe about in-fandom stuff. there are plenty of other characters that could be seen as more interesting than iroha, especially considering the mikazuki villa girls are all so varied, but that’s kind of how it is with every series, honestly. there’s always going to be one character that seems less interesting compared to other ones. i just kind of realized that iroha gets the short end of the stick compared to the other girls. not only because of her resemblance to madoka, but because of her perceived blandness and the lack of people who care to analyze why she might act that way. her pink motif and gentle, kind demeanor translates as “madoka copy” in people’s heads, and, y’know, it translated like that in mine the first time i saw her, too. but, when you actually think about her arc aside from her resemblance to madoka in several different ways, you get a really interesting and special character; just as special as the others! there was a similar issue with madoka, honestly, with people brushing her off because she wasn’t as “emotionally deep” as the rest of the quintet, even though that’s not true at all. i think it’s unfair that people will brush off a character just because they’re nice; that they’ll reduce characters like iroha and madoka to their cuteness and kindness only and not analyze the rest of the details that they have intentionally(or sometimes unintentionally, y’know how anime writing can be) been written with!
...but then again, i’m biased in my own way, admittedly. i relate to iroha (i really just made that post because i was thinking about how i’ve never seen someone touch on how her memory gaps affect her), and i just wasn’t seeing any coverage on it, so i thought, someone has to do this! i also just... don’t see people who coin themselves as “iroha fans” very often? she’s one of the characters who is there, but usually not deemed interesting enough for someone to be a superfan of. i’m probably hypocritical, considering homura akemi is my favorite character and she’s pretty popular in the fandom, but what i said is more of an observation than an accusation anyway. i had similar feelings with madoka, but i haven’t gone on a proper ramble about that yet.
...these characters also aren’t real people, so i’d say i probably shouldn’t go on such long rambles about them, but i really do feel like they reflect a lot of real life experiences sometimes. like, me connecting to iroha’s struggles is something that connects her character to an actual experience. however, like i said in my original post, i am very much an overanalyzer, and i tend to take concepts and just run with them, especially when something stands out to me. this is also just a magical girl show, so i’m really not taking anything that personally.
also, to clear anything up, the original post wasn’t meant to come across as me being angry, per se, at people who think iroha is boring, it just kind of ticks me off that she’s brushed off so quickly in the larger fandom because of her demeanor. this doesn’t really apply to people who aren’t into the series at all yet, because i’d literally also think “okay so we have madoka, and madoka with a hood” if i were in your shoes! also, people are allowed to dislike characters for no reason. i’m just silly and go on long defensive rants over the sad magical girls, and would probably be sad if people didn’t like iroha because of the reasons i mentioned.
all in all, i do reccomend magia record very much if you can get past the sexualization of the gacha cards and the, um... poorly designed outfits. because the NA server has been shut down, there are channels on youtube that graciously upload videos of the in-game stories as well as side stories! in the game, there are sometimes entire side stories for characters’ outfits. because it’s a gacha game, there are events and such, and the event stories i’ve seen and/or read (most of the ones i’ve read have to do with homura though) are a lot of fun. i reccommend checking out muffinrecord’s channel if you’d like to read any of the stories (hopefully you’re the type of person who can sit and watch live2d models move around with boxes of text on the bottom for 25 minutes like me). they have everything sorted into playlists in that section of their youtube. of course, i also reccomend watching the anime, if you’re interested! the animation is polished and nice, even if the story is a little hard to follow at times. but if not, that’s okay too.
thank you for the ask, and i hope i could clear some things up for you!

Aqours’ favourite video games hcs!
Happy 5th anniversary to Aqours and 10th anniversary to the whole Love Live series! The series is really special and close to my heart! Heres to many more happy years to come!
Here are some headcanons about the Aqours girls favourite game genres, and some ideas about specific games! (under a read more again)
Chika definitely plays mobile gacha games, dedicating herself to saving for her favourite characters while resisting the temptation to spend gems on any cards she finds cute! She’d end up spending a lot of in-game currency on member slots, because she wants to treasure every card and character so she can look back on all the cards she’s earned from events and gacha! Even going as far as suggesting that Aqours do covers of her favourite songs from the games! I think she’d love Bandori, and Kokoro, Kasumi or Hina would be her favourite girls!
Riko may not be as well-versed in video games as some of the other girls, but would occasionally play games that don’t take too many hours at a time to play. She’d love Nintendogs, and be super enthusiastic about training them, while being cautious that they get enough play-time too. She’d name her dogs after the ones she knows in town and let her pug sit next to her while she shows them all to them! At some point she may even buy a Tamagotchi or something similar, to carry around with her and show everyone!
You would buy co-op games to play with the other girls, particularly party games like 1-2-Switch! A lot of her play-time would be spent practicing the mini-games she’s not so good with at home on her own or with her family so she can flex on everyone when the time comes! She wouldn’t be too bothered about who wins even though she’d be a natural at movement-based mini games, but she puts up a competitive front to hype everyone up! Whenever the girls would have a sleepover or a long journey, she’d bring games for everyone to play, but they’d end up making too much noise!
Ruby actually owns Pokémon Shield (from the Dengeki diary entries I think) which is adorable! Her favourite Pokémon would be any one she finds cute! Her goal would be to create a team that is both powerful and cute! Woolo would be her most treasured teammate, and ask if she can get merch when her birthday comes around, having plushies at her side while she plays! When new Pokémon are announced she’d be super hyped to find them in-game! She enjoys that there aren’t big time-limits on battles, so she can think about strategies and such, even if they confuse her a little.
Yoshiko seems like she’d enjoy dungeon crawler games, probably liking a shoot-em-up combat style. Many hours would be spend grinding levels so she can get the best equipment for her character, unlocking achievements to become the ultimate fallen angel gamer! She’d stay up until the sun rises playing games if she was allowed, but she’d get so into the game she’d probably yell unintentionally when she loses a battle, which would lead to an unhappy mother. I’d put The Binding of Isaac as a favourite, since the play-style and theming would be right up her alley but she’s just a year under the age rating so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Hanamaru would immerse herself in story-heavy, atmospheric games. She’d prefer more calm stories where you can take time to look around the game world and carry on at her own pace. Her favourite thing to do would be exploring every nook and cranny to find new dialogue from NPCs that aren’t that important but make the world feel real! I think she’d love Undertale despite finding the bullet hell sections super tricky! That wouldn’t stop her from having a fun time though!
Dia would prefer all kinds of puzzles games, to keep her mind active and in tip-top shape. The platform wouldn’t matter too much, having one or two on her phone and having physical puzzles at home. She’d look up all kinds of games to see what kind of games people come up with, her favourite series being the Professor Layton games, not expecting to get invested in the characters and then wanting to follow their adventures!
Mari still plays all kinds of old flash games in her free time, especially the ‘crappy’ ones, saying something like “I have to give all of them love, someone put their shiny effort into this!” if she was asked about it. Time would be spent hopping around from game to game, looking for old ones she can’t remember the name of, but some games like the Learn to Fly series would be ones she regularly comes back to for fun and nostalgia. However she’d stay away from flash horror games because, while she wouldn’t admit it, she still gets freaked out by them, and she’d rather have a fun time navigating a penguin through the air.
Kanan would play mobile games like Chika, but only play simple games she can quickly open between working or sneakily at school. Games like Crossy Road or Angry Birds would pique her attention as she constantly tries to beat her high score every time! She could be studying or diving while still being annoyed that she almost made it but got distracted at the last second. The other girls would notice this and find it funny that she gets so worked up over it! She’d try to work her way up the global leaderboards, and come running into the club room when she gets close to a top spot, earning cheers from her friends because they know how invested she is. Dia wouldn’t be too amused though…

KH: MOM Review (Gameplay)
Every Kingdom Hearts game feels different. It's always innovating and always adding new types of gameplay. This is no exception. Rhythm minigames are no stranger to the Kingdom Hearts series but a whole game based on it is new.
I don't play a lot of rhythm games but I have played the infamous Atlantica section in Kingdom Hearts 2 as well as the Symphony of Sorcery in Dream Drop Distance and the Ice Cream Beat of Birth By Sleep, Guitar Hero and I'll even throw in the Honeybee Inn rhythm game in FFVII Remake. Out of all of those, Atlantica has been my favorite, that's right, I actually didn't mind it.
Now this system is entirely different than any of those, at least to me. It's definitely the most complex though but just hold on because I know how the word 'complex' can be triggering for a game, I just mean in comparison to the others is all. It's not a DDR right, left, up or down. So without further ado...(Nonspoiler for this part, it’s just gameplay)
This game begins with a stage. You're thrown into it without any notice, there were things that I didn't grasp until near the end of the stage, luckily it doesn't count towards a score yet, and after it is the tutorial but that's just the opening so if you're clueless and want to be prepared, I would say to try out the demo, I didn't even realize how much it helped me until I played the actual game.
I wanted to say at just how friendly this game is to newcomers, it's literally all laid out for you. Nomura came out with HD remasters and collections of the previous games then a recap of the franchise on YouTube then put it IN Kingdom Hearts 3 and people still complained because they don't know the story and are too lazy to play the other games. Now Nomura's packed it all into one whole game to sum it up, explained from the perspective of Kairi herself so that you're still entertained while catching up. If there was ever an easy path to get into Kingdom Hearts, this is the answer. If I hear complaining about it from this point forward, I will be pissed. Now, as you can see, I didn't make it to story yet but that's not entirely what I'm talking about. All the buttons and functions are the same as a regular game, you basically have it all but the different keyblades (well you can collect them but not use them because they're cards). You can play as casually as you want, a song here and there. There are even options for a shuffle and sort function if you want to just jump to track selection but you'll need to unlock them individually in World Tour first. This may sound complicated but that's where the clean and accessible the menu comes in, I have to give props for that.
Tumblr media
You're on a set track, it runs on its own, does its own thing except when you're gliding which is just moving left and right to collect notes. You use the normal KH abilities to your advantage because some enemies will be high in the air so you need to jump and slash at the same time but you can't just button mash any more, there's timing involved now. Once you get used to the gameplay, it's quite enjoyable, you may even get a song that you hit every note, my first one was 'Another Side', the first try too, I didn't hit all excellent though.
How do party members work? Well let's say you have Sora, Donald, and Goofy in a party. You have 3 buttons you can press to attack, Sora's the only one that can jump and the only one that can use the reaction commands so you need to pay attention to all three because there could be enemies on the floor and in the sky at the same time. The one thing I will say is a little bit of a complaint and that's that it doesn't tell you which buttons to press except on specific stages, it just has the symbols, I guess that's what makes it more combat oriented but it's definitely different and a little bit harder. But I guess it gets to be muscle memory, after a while. If you already know the themes, it gets easier for you to manage because you focus more on what you hear and less on what you see, that's how I started getting better with timing. I experimented with pretty much everything I could think of so I tried it with low volume and found that I missed a whole lot more because I couldn't hear it, which might be obvious because it's a rhythm game, but it just goes to show how important sound is. I even tried using headphones, I suppose that's up to you, it definitely made the music clearer but my performance was about the same.
What do songs net you other than progress? Well you get materials. Also similar to KHUX, you get crafting materials except these ones you can use for potions and stuff, I did a potionless run because I didn’t feel the need (but I also didn’t do it all proud either) but I used a few summons and item boosts just for fun. You can also craft cards, which are really just for looks to see in the Museum after you finish one of the memory dives (which I'll get into) but the way you get the cards, grinds my gears because it's gacha, you craft them and it's a surprise what you're going to get...so it's essentially a loot box that you don't pay money for?? What the-
Tumblr media
(notice how it says KH2 or Days at the bottom, you don’t even know. Of course I have Writhing Shards rn but that’s because I beat the game and didn’t open a whole lot of keyblade cards but the memory and scene ones are the annoying ones for me)
You don't even have to "finish" the song, just get it most of the way before you die then you'll still get credit and still get a ranking, just no exp. Now, there are also stars, stars are from 'missions' for each stage, if you play KHUX, it’s kind of like how it says “get this amount of Lux” or “use this type of medal” or “don’t use continue” so most stars are just “get this many points” and you need to collect enough stars to get to the next area. With that, so long as you have enough stars, you don’t “have” to play every stage, just like regular Kingdom Hearts and skipping worlds, I did though, just for sport, except Let it Go, just for spite. I could see plenty of fans going after those A+++ Proud Performer 3-Star rankings, I can't wait to see the hype it generates, same with the co-op.
They went all out when they didn't have to. The Museum is where everything is collected, so all the cards you collect and craft. You can also just play the song on its own without gameplay through the Museum, so if you want headphones to just chill, it's really nice. You can also play the cutscenes and memory dives on their own without the gameplay. There are "feats" or missions such as finishing a certain number of songs, like Nook Miles or the ones they had in Re:Mind. You can collect profile pictures for your co-op or versus account, mine is Simba (even though I don’t really use it). But the co-op can get pretty intense as you can “sabotage” each other, which seems similar to a Smash or Mario Kart match, adding that much more to the gameplay.
A few more complaints, one is that certain enemies from a stage, (say, the Wyverns) won't have the same attacks as the other stages, sometimes they'll have it so that you jump to hit them and sometimes they'll just have them take a normal hit without the jump so you can't memorize what each enemy requires (there are too many to really do that anyway). The other thing is more just opinion based, particular enemies such as Large Bodies tend to carry a weight so you need to hit them more than once even if its just one enemy. How it does this is that you hit it and then the enemy gets knocked back as your next note so you hit them again. There were definitely times where I struggled because I knew I was hitting the buttons but nothing was happening, I would guess timing was the problem in some of those cases but the indicators can be difficult to keep track of because it has to be “just right”. I think even just a line on the floor to tell when you’re supposed to hit would be a major help but in a way, I feel like that’s on purpose. Also, in the Museum, you can view all the cards EXCEPT the Keyblades which is pretty shotty if you ask me, what's the point in grinding to get my favorite Rumbling Rose, if I can't even look at it properly?
Tumblr media
(also new names for some keyblades (this is a zoom-in))
There will be a lot of things happening at once which can be daunting, I do appreciate that they included the easy, standard, and proud modes though. Keep in mind, each of those are used for individual songs, not playthroughs so if you want to change, go ahead, at least as far as World Tour goes. On top of that, there are different modes that also gauge at how good you are (to use on the track selection). There's the basic mode which I already explained, then there's the one button mode which should be self explanatory, and then there's the performer mode which is quite a lot to put on your plate all at once because on top of normal gameplay, you're adding new buttons and things in the middle of your attacks, I would probably only recommend that after you've got a decent amount of experience because I tried it day 1 and it seems like you would need a good understanding of the game and to be on the same wavelength before even attempting it. You can view a playthrough of each stage called a "demo" which is the little play symbol button next to the "play" button, it shows you how you should be playing to get an A+++ rank and giving you a heads up of what's to come, all excellent all the time. On top of that, when I was playing Xenoblade, one thing I proposed was flicking the analog stick in a certain direction for each move, that’s present here in the form of bosses and memory dives but if you want it to, you can go into the menu to enable it for regular gameplay. You'll find out if you want it on the very first stage, again, I would only recommend it after a lot of experience.
Your characters level up but it mainly just has to do with HP so you don’t die so easily but at the same time, you have potions so I don’t see much of a point for normal gameplay. All three of the party members only have one health bar, so leveling does come in handy for the bosses. However, I don't understand how each party member has a different level, maybe it's just based on the amount of notes you hit with that character but it's kind of weird because I don't think it matters. Even on the team selection part of the play screen, it has one compilitive level so why would they be different on the menu?
For bosses, you only encounter a few. If it were me, I would've made one per game but it is what it is. You don't worry about jumping anymore, it's just holding the attack button down instead and the amount of "dodge" notes that you hit will work in your defense whenever the boss attacks. Once the dodge section is over, it actually tells you how you did with the dodging section. The first time I ever did it, it said "Oh No." it has a sense of humor, it took me a while to nail those ones you hold down which is odd because I rock the gliding sections most of the time.
Tumblr media
There's only one more type of gameplay type I can think of, memory dives. It's similar to a boss but you're flying and there's a scene playing in the background, also some of the directional notes will have doubles, so you need to point the analog stick in different directions which is as difficult as can be because you have to use BOTH analog sticks (took me forever just to figure that out). You 'mainly' gain the memory dives from crafting which is a bit odd but you unlock the recipes and items as you go through World Tour and then play them separately in Track Selection, until you get to KH3 at least.
Keep in mind that I played the demo on both PS4 and Switch and compared the two, my performance was about the same, though I will say this. With Switch, you can take it on the go and just do a few levels here and there as well as remove the joy-cons. The thing about that is that I feel the need to shake the joy-cons but there's no function that uses that in the game, I really wish there was though. And those directional ‘slide’ notes have to be way easier on PlayStation because the analog sticks are right next to each other.

People have been saying that mlqc has been copying MM, and should be banned because of plagiarism... Your opinion about it? I personally think mlqc was influenced by MM but then I also think they copied some bits here and there.
(Continued) I saw some pictures of mlqc and MM that displayed similarities or almost the exact same pose/angle and I wouldn’t say it was copied but it was referenced from it… (L&P could’ve done better tho) But the thing is, I saw a script of mlqc and the person who posted this said that mlqc is basically copying the script of MM. Idk I can’t read Chinese but people also say kiro is basically the choi twins, and victor is basically jumin… Heck yeah maybe for kiro I could see how it is—
(Continued) But for victor I don’t see Jumin exactly. Victor and Jumin obviously similar but they are not exactly the same. Yes they’re both leaders and both rich and whatever you can relate them both. But Victor and Jumin, have completely different back stories. I think victor is more straightforward and cold but Jumin is more I guess calm and quieter if that makes sense. I’m sorry if I was ranting non sense lol, was conflicted about it.
__________________________________________
Hey dear!
I am actually glad you sent this in! As most of you know because of my main blog, I love MM a lot. It’s a title that is very dear to my heart and precious to me, and I have also seen this sort of talk going around. So I am happy to speak on this topic.
Firstly, I think it’s asinine. Love and Producer was being shown at Expos and being Beta Tested less than a year after Mystic Messenger was released…less than a year! And it was released five months after that! Thinking about this logically, do we really honestly think that a company in China saw Mystic Messenger out of Korea and in less than a year developed a story, the mechanics of the game, wrote the script, drew the characters, hired the voice actors and recorded voices, coded it all and got money to develop it and distribute it in less than a year…that alone should be enough to tell you that this is just not true. This doesn’t make sense.
Not to mention MM has just barely hit its 3yr anniversary and we STILL don’t have answers for everything lmao. I really find it hard to believe that Paper Studio and Zhixingtong would be like oh yeah you want us to sink a bunch of money into a game that isn’t even finished yet that you want to copy? Sure thing!
The characters in Love and Producer are designed and put together with stratagem. The same as they strategically fit personality types together in boy bands, the same as they strategically stick to the same formula for otome boy personalities, they do the same for Love and Producer. It’s not different from any other game. The cheerful and kind, the aloof but protective, the flirtatious and considerate, the asshole who secretly cares. Every game has this SAME TYPE. It’s really not crazy to think that the asshole who secretly cares is a clean-cut, well-dressed CEO because it’s ALWAYS THE CLEAN-CUT WELL-DRESSED CEO/BUSINESSMAN.
When it comes to art, I also find it very hard to imagine they would need to “copy” Mystic Messenger sprites or art in general. There are only so many poses and positions you can do for sprites that don’t make them look odd for the situations. A side profile sprite in two different games is not “plagiarizing” its just a side profile…and let’s not forget that I love MM dearly but even they have to update their artwork with better and improved art every now and then, in my opinion, there’s no denying that the artwork in L&P is superior so I don’t see them needing to trace art from Cheritz. Not to mention the developers behind L&P have been making games with the same style artwork years before even Mystic Messenger released.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Paper Studio, Zhixingtong/ELEX, Tencent…they’ve all been working congruently developing games from China and distributing games on a global scale for a while now. Tencent is the world’s largest gaming company, one of the world’s most valuable technology companies, one of the world’s largest social media companies, and one of the world’s largest venture capital firms and investment corporations. This includes social network, music, web portals, e-commerce, mobile games, internet services, payment systems, smartphones, and multiplayer online games. These companies have all worked hand-in-hand to release mobile games across the world, games such as Food Fantasy and the Nikki titles like Love Nikki.
Tencent also developed the widely known and used QQ as well as WeChat, and L&P’s social media/”phone” aspect to the app including sections like ‘moments’ is literally a copy of WeChat.
L&P uses the WeChat feature as well as the generic Gacha/card-based dynamics we see in every mobile gacha game, and then implements some of its own unique grinding features taken from titles like the Nikki games only instead of combining clothing items/materials its instead shards of karma and other materials. Nothing about this is Mystic Messenger.
I don’t even think I need to go deep into the plot of both games because it’s obvious they’re very, very different. A girl thrust into a group of people who work together to raise funds for charity but there’s a mysterious murder and a secret cult. VS. A producer running her fathers company comes into contact with old friends from her past who are all tied together by mysterious superpowers. Like?
So if the mechanics of the game are not the same, the plot is not the same, the artwork is not the same, and even the complete characters and personalities are not the same, only leg people have to stand on in this argument is that Jumin looks and sort of acts like Victor, and Kiro is goofy like Saeyoung and a hacker. That’s simply not enough to say a company “copied” a game and you’d have to then point fingers at a ton of other games for the very same reason. I could pull up several right now with quirky hackers and asshole businessmen, some that even look like Saeyoung and Jumin as well.
I think it’s fine to draw parallels and have fun picking out the similarities in characters because that’s what the human brain does. That’s just social categorization and stereotyping. And it makes it easier when every one of these games uses the same formulaic, cliche character types. But I think it’s disrespectful to the people who work hard on these games to just see two similar-looking characters and start shouting plagiarism.
Not to mention L&P is EXTREMELY popular in many countries including Korea, and if Cheritz thought their work was being stolen and distributed and making millions, they would do something. Idk, I just wish people would use critical thinking first instead of undermining the hard work of content creators because conspiracy theories are compelling.

I have a question, #1 Seth fan! I don't have any of Seth's voiced cards, so I've only ever heard a few of his lines. I was wondering, does his voice change?? I've heard his higher, cheerful (almost a little over the top?) voice but also a lower, more natural voice, once. Does his voice reflect his multiple personalities? =O
tl;dr Chief goes on a fucking tangent and maybe actually answers the ask oops
Little piglet, you honor me with that #1 spot omg
To be honest, I have only been able to pull Seth’s regular 4* and 5* cards from the gacha. (Lancelot/Sirius/Ray, pls go home thanks) But what I have been able to listen to with his card quotes have been extremely telling of his character, in my opinion!
Unfortunately, with Cybird’s (totally fair) content restrictions, I am unable to post recordings of the quotes, but I will do my best to explain them without! I’m putting a bunch of photos under the cut and I hope this remotely answers your question because the VA for Seth plays him so good and I get really mushy and by the end of all the repeated listenings of these quotes, I was a melty cheesy puddle on the floor.
Legend:
> = volume drop
[ ] = falsetto voice
| = hard pause
I could go on about every single one of his voiced quotes, but I’m only going to touch on the quotes that aren’t completely falsetto, like you hear on his character selection page or the intro login page as these are a little more related to the question.
4* quotes w/ Seth’s assumed natural voice
Tumblr media
One of his fully natural-voiced lines for his 4* card. A good example of his natural voice, actually. He sounds super casual in the beginning and his voice is closer to tenor than bass, but not as high as Edgar’s. When he hits [But don’t forget], it becomes slightly chastising, slowly dropping in volume as he gives his ”light-hearted” warning.
Tumblr media
Another full natural-voiced line. The “Whew” is more like a sigh, but not a negative one. The first line is said fairly quickly. Then he slows down for the second line, and his voice turns to teasing for the third. Then (!!!) he gives this cute laugh that slays me (!?) and is absolutely flirting by the end.
Tumblr media
A mixed line. He starts with his higher-pitched falsetto, though it’s nothing crazy. Then he transitions into his natural voice for the second line and I can just imagine his eyes going all hooded and promising as it deepens before he picks up his voice again at the end. What a fucking tease!
5* quotes w/ Seth’s assumed natural voice
Tumblr media
This one is short and sweet. He starts with the falsetto, a light compliment and nothing more--until he follows up with his natural voice, pushing his compliment with true sincerity.
Tumblr media
This one is playful and serious. I can imagine him having a genuine smile before leaning closer to your ear to whisper the last part, a half-confession though he will likely refuse he said anything if you ask him outright about it.
Tumblr media
This one walks the border between falsetto and normal for its entirety. A bit higher pitched than most of his natural voiced lines, but not a full falsetto. He starts off somewhat breathy with this one and goes quieter and more promising for the second part of the line. He then enunciates each word in a staccato to wrap up the final question.
Tumblr media
Then there’s this line. This one line. The holy grail of Seth quotes. If anybody has this card, I beg you to listen to his morning quote. I’m not always in a position to listen to the game, so unless I specifically go out of my way to do it, I miss the nuances of the voiced cards. I only recently listened to this for the first time and I wish I could go back to that time when I could hear it for the first time again! ;A;
Deep. Deeper than any of his other voiced lines. Sleepy. Dreamy. Steamy. The hard pauses to give each section of this quote emphasis. The content of it, spoken with that deep, breathy, tired, amazing voice. The slow realization with each word as he slowly wakes. His double gasp--the first one catching himself, the second one forcing his voice to his highest falsetto. Panicked and flailing and trying to cover his dark wishes.
...
I guess I should stop lollygagging and answer the second part of your ask lol
I think a lot of people misinterpret Seth. He doesn’t have multiple personalities. He only wears a mask. He plays a part for an agenda that is still currently unknown and he plays it well. But it’s just a mask. He can’t always keep his real self hidden behind it.
His birthday story last year made it abundantly clear. In his POV, he chastises himself for thinking of MC as anything more than a friend and even refers to his own lust as “greedy desire” and he understands how the world runs--that it’s harsh on the innocent and takes what it wants.
[”It’s okay to be innocent, but--it’s like you really don’t understand anything.” She stopped in her tracks, so I reached out and took her hand gently. She squeezed my hand back and I hooked a finger under her chin. “You really need to protect yourself when it comes to interacting with men.” My own voice shook as I talked about the reality of the world. “If it’s just the two of us together until morning what do you think will happen? Did you even realize what you were suggesting?”]
He covers his dirty parts with lighthearted teasing and a cheery demeanor, but he really does have more to him beneath that outer layer--much, much more. So I would disagree that it’s multiple personalities and more that he’s a sweet and sour and savory trifle that I am more than happy to dig into.
(Also his second birthday story should hopefully be releasing in less than 24 hours and I am beyond ecstatic hhhhh)
I hope my rambling answered your question and so sorry for going on a Seth spiel, I really can’t contain myself lol
