Nightmare

Nightmare Characters: Levi x Hange  Word Count: 749 words Canon universe

Because I haven't posted any writing on here in a while. This is for @this-is-krikkit and anyone else having a shitty day - have a free Levihan cuddle.

Inspired by the Smartpass story.

The titan lifted its monstrous head, gazing down with eyes like giant, polished orbs. Its stare was devoid of comprehension; empathy; reason. Humanity. It was simply registering the details before it; the small figure standing with their arm outstretched. Any second now, it would lunge. 

Strangely, Hange was unafraid. Their arm was held steady; palm empty. Even as the titan swung its jaw open wide, inviting Hange to a view of its enormous teeth, they remained unshaken in their resolve. It was just as unsurprising when a human voice emerged from the giant’s mouth.

"They don't taste good…"

“Mmm?” Hange returned politely, cocking their head to the side. They clasped both hands behind their back. “What doesn’t? Tell me.”

Suddenly the titan uttered an ear-splitting howl. It gripped the sides of its head, thrusting fingers as thick as tree stumps beneath its eyelids. It prised the thin flesh away as though attempting to tear its skin from its face. 

“Please… help me, Hange!”

Hange jolted awake. It took a moment for their eyes to adjust to the gloom. There was their disordered pile of books upon the bedside table; only the names on the spines were too blurred to read, should Hange have needed to do so. The bedsheet had become tangled around one of their legs, leaving the other cold and exposed. The corner of yet another book was digging into their shin. There came a movement beneath them; an arm shifting then withdrawing from their side.

“You okay?” Levi’s voice; still thick with sleep. They felt him turn onto his back. Hange reached towards the bedside table and knocked their glasses to the floor with a clatter.

“Fuck.” Their arm was trembling now, unlike in their dream. “That- that fucked me up…”

A pale shaft of moonlight fell across them. Hange turned to see Levi drawing back the heavy drape which clung to the window. 

“Thanks.” Hange retrieved their fallen glasses and pushed them up the bridge of their nose. They sat upright; knuckles blanched as they clutched the mattress, feet digging into the floorboards beneath. There came a creak of wooden slats as Levi knelt on the bed behind them.

“What happened in this one?”

Recurring nightmares were, unfortunately, one of an endless list of occupational hazards faced by those in the Scout Regiment. It was often the result of witnessing too many abnormal things. In fact, most considered it abnormal not to be affected in such a way.

“There was a titan. It was trying to talk to me… It… it said…” Hange gripped their head, much like the titan had done in their nightmare. “It told me that they didn’t taste good.” Their hands balled into fists, pressing their eyes with the effort of remembering. As much as they tried to cling to the memory, the details of the dream poured through their fingers like sand.

“It asked me to help them.” Hange’s throat was tight. “Wh-what do you think that means?”

Levi folded an arm around them and they sank against him, their back pressed to his chest. Levi’s chin rested on their shoulder.

“Levi… what if they don’t want to do it?”

“Huh?”

“...what if they don’t want to eat people?”

Both stared at the door, under which a narrow strip of light filtered. The absurdity of Hange’s statement, and the silence which followed it, settled over the room.

“I don’t know…” Levi spoke quietly. “That’s a question only you can answer.”

It was as though the burden of that unanswered proposal settled upon them in tangible form. Hange’s shoulders sank, their body curving against his.

“Tomorrow, I’ll…”

“You need to get some rest.” Levi’s tone was firm but without his usual acerbity. He held them to him tightly. 

“I’ve got you.”

Hange’s eyes closed. Gently, he brought them down with him so that Hange’s back remained against his front. He stroked their scattered hair away from the pillow and tenderly kissed the back of their neck. Hange made a small sound and shifted beside him. Levi reached across them, gently lifting their glasses from their face. He hesitated; the table was just out of reach. He lowered his arm, wrapping it around Hange’s waist; their glasses clutched in his hand. Levi buried his face in their warm skin, feeling their breaths come slower as exhaustion overcame them.

But even though he closed his eyes and allowed his own breathing to fall in rhythm with theirs, Levi knew he would not sleep.

A/N: Kinda a true story, but mine happened in a soccer game lol, it's also rly short and prob rly bad lol

SLS/N’s POV

I know I’m not supposed to let my hair fall out of my helmet, especially when you're playing in a girl's hockey league, but my low bun fell out and I was in the middle of a game so I couldn’t fix it.

The score was tied and there wasn’t much time left on the clock, but I was skating faster than I ever had.

I hear the puck being sent my way by one of my brothers, and I quickly snatch it before I can get bodied by the girl on the other team.

Just as I reached my stick back to slap the puck into the goal, I felt myself fly back, head first, a burning sensation on my scalp.

I was being pulled back by my hair, getting whipped around to the point wear I fell and skidded into the wall.

The girl looked at me with a smirk before skating off, slowly.

I hated the way she looked at me, it made my blood boil and my heart race.

Ignoring the pain in my hip, I stood, then skated as fast as I could to her.

Next thing I know, I'm fully tackling her onto the ice, and that's all I was gonna do until she punched me,

Right in the damn nose.

Blood poured down my front and all over the girl, until it eventually reached the ice. My eyes were watering like crazy, but I ignored the pain and focused my enraged thoughts on the girl I was practically straddling.

Just as I was about to pound her into the ice, I felt arms around my torso, pulling me off.

I fought against them, wanting to get back at the girl who ruined my game, but I stopped once I heard the ref.

"You need to stop or your team will be disqualified."

I quickly shoved the person's arms off of me and then skated to the penalty box.

I got inside and slammed my halpet against the glass, feeling all my anger and the pain in my face hit me at once.

Before I knew it, the buzzer was going off, right after the other team scored the winning point.

I don't bother going into the locker room. Instead, I go to the lobby of the complex, taking my gear off while I wait with my brothers.

As people passed me on their way out, they gave me dirty looks, especially the moms on the other team.

I just sat there, blood pooling out of my face, glaring right back at them.

Until the girl that started this walked passed.

Next thing I know, I'm behind her, ripping her braided ponytail.

Just as she was about to retaliate, Nick, my brother, got between us while I felt Matt and Chris hold my arms back, keeping me from tearing this girl to shreds.

They bring me back to the bench and sit me down as Nick apologizes to the girl's mom.

As he turns around, he looks at me, a disappointed look on his face.

I slouch against the wall behind me, crossing my arms over my chest as I roll my eyes, not making eye contact with any of my brothers.

We silently got to the car, me aggressively chucking my gear in the back before climbing in the backseat and leaning my head against the car window.

"SLS/N, we need to stop the blood," Nick says, handing me a t-shirt that he found in the back of the car.

I take it from him and wipe my nose, feeling the bruising start to form underneath the red coating my face.

As Matt begins to drive, I feel the emotion and pain well up in my eyes so fast, I don't have time to stop it.

As I cried, I let out a frustrated groan, hitting my fist into my thigh, as it was the only thing in the car to punch.

"Don't do that! I know you're mad, but don't hurt yourself." Nick says, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards him.

As I lean into his side, he takes the t-shirt from my hand, helping me wipe most of the blood from my face.

"These are just angry tears," I say to the car.

Matt laughs and reaches back behind his seat, finding my leg, and then giving it a little pat.

"We need to find a way to get all that anger out of you kid, you got way too much of it." Chris sighs, shaking his head.

This makes the car laugh, and I even manage to smile through the pain in my face.

I was happy that they weren't mad at me.

"Matt!" I yell from my spot on the couch, head in Chris's lap.

"I need some ice, please!" I yell again.

I hear a plastic bag being opened, then the sound of the ice maker.

Matt comes in and hands me the bag of ice, now wrapped in a kitchen towel.

Chris quickly takes it from my hand and gently places it under my eye where most of the bruising was, holding it for me.

As Matt sits down by my feet, Nick comes in, making me sit up and take an Advil, and chug a bottle of water.

As soon as I'm done, I lay back down next to Chris, trying to get the dizziness out of my head.

Chris must have noticed me squeeze my eyes shut because he says,

"Try and fall asleep kiddo. I'll be right here when you wake up."

I almost pass out as his words, and get comfy and smuggling into his side.

He holds the ice on my face and strokes my hair till I fall asleep, happy that my brothers aren't mad at me.

Starting off with REIGN !! Man he’s just great.. Your average workaholic but we love him regardless okay?!? HE WILL BE FREE FROM THE SHACKLES OF NUMBERWON ONE DAY (he won’t) 🙏🙏 Bless his heart.. 70% of the time he is wearing some sort of suit so I did him some justice for the img and toned down his professionalism. His hair is in locs which and dyed have been in all types of lengths so go crazy- Usually in a half up half down sorta thing idk. Some piercings he still has from when he was a teen, but those get purposefully hidden by hair when working. Rarely wears his glasses and sticks for contacts unless he's in a rush in the morning, which somehow is rarely the case like okayy you early birdd LEMME STOP. He is the one I project onto the most and he covers up his problems with work and being a serious guy. He gets with Arline later on which.. understandable even I love her gosh BUT SHE ISNT IN IT SHHHH

To not have him be last.. MEIL omg love him so much. First one to hit the paracosm, and first to become just some guy. I LOVE THIS WHITE BOY THO COME ONN. He’s shorter than Reign and Donis, but he’s still a good average height I’d say ?? Literally just goes home to play on his switch or watch movies after work. Having some suspicion (personal headcanons) on him being aroace as well. ALSO he’s been trying to grow facial hair recently but has horrible genes so it’s just not working out.. Finally at this rich mf DONIS yuhhh. Tall as hell, models the most random for a living, and is quite literally the dumb rich person I know besides Elon Musk.. I think Donis would have try to buy the rights to CANDY CRUSH before thinking of Twitter OH GOD BLESS HIS HEART TOO 💀💀 He is just some silly guy though!! The one to make the dumbest and funniest comments constantly and I love him for that. One of those like half open button up shirt kinda of guys lord he has his fans in a chokehold. Appearance

I'm hella short, like 5'2"ish?? I have a wolf-cut and currently growing out some pretty horrific home bleaching 😅 naturally I'm ginger but i lean to being more blonde than bright ginger so at least my roots aren't too dark ig but my hair naturally is like merida from brave kinda curly so that's interesting?? My family always make the joke I'm a walking Irish stereotype without the Irish accent (sadly not from ireland) 😭 my hair has been a few different colours over the years so I'm giving it a lil break so I'm not gonna be bald

I wear glasses/contacts bc girlie is blind :') I tend to wear makeup mainly on my eyes

Body shape wise I work out a lil bit and work on my feet a LOT so im not exactly as toned as I'd like to be but I've worked hard to be happy in my own body ^_^

Personality

MBTI and horoscope wise I'm an Aquarius INTP and it fits a little too well haha. I tend to ignore my emotions a lot. I can come off a little cold or overly sarcastic sometimes which is totally unintentional lol. I have a really dry sense of humour and i tend to use humour as a great healingtool.

Some people have said I can be intimidating when they first meet me, but I'm literally 5 feet tall i am absolutely scaring nobody when there are 12 year olds who are probably taller than me :')

I'm a pretty quiet person, even amongst people I know well, I prefer to listen, and I don't find silence uncomfortable, and can just vibe w someone doing our own thing but in the same space. I'm not really one to initiate physical touch but probably because I'm terrible at expressing myself 😅

I can take a lil while to be really open w people, I'm pretty independent so I struggle trusting others right off the bat, but that's on me lmao ppl are whack bruh

I'd say my love language is gift giving or quality time! I tend to remember weird and obscure things people tell me about themselves, and I love seeing things that remind me of people I care about, even if I see a cute picture online and say "this reminds me of u" kinda thing.

Hobbies and stuff, other than kpop, I really enjoy keeping my mind busy. I'm currently applying for a language degree (Mandarin and Korean) and I speak Spanish and English too, I did enjoy travelling but sadly havent had the chance with the world being the way it is :(

I enjoy anime (usually slice of life/idol anime) and gaming. I have put WAY too many hours into Overwatch, Love Live and Genshin Impact, I am a walking touch grass meme 💀.

Other than games I really enjoy fashion too, I dont really stick to one aesthetic though, but I enjoy being able to be expressive with my wardrobe to make up for my lack of expressiveness. I follow a lot of luxury brands on ig but I'm sadly not rich enough to live my fantasy high fashion lifestyle :')

Hey guys. We went to the mall again because it's too hot to go outside. I l1fted a bit but I did buy a blue and purple tie dyed tank top for summer and a Slayer shirt from the hot topic.

We had funsies, me and my friend were chatting and stuff. Not much to say.

I'm feeling sucky now cos we got lunch at the italianos store and I wanted to get Dulce De Leche because what's the point of going to the italianos if ur leaving with NO dulce de leche....?? Its so yummy. My mom said yes but my 11 YEAR OLD SISTER LIKE FLIPPED OVER THE CAN AND READ OFF THE GRAMS OF SUGAR AND CALORIES!!!!! liKE WHAT??? ITS NONE OF UR BUSINESS JESUS!!!!!! thanks for triggering my uh disordered eating...  cos after that I wanted to cry and I just put the can back and remembered how fat I am and I ALMSOT HAD A BREAKDOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STORE LIKE IT WAS THE WORST FEELING...

Now I'm worried about my CaLoRieS and jesus it's the worst feeling... thanks sister who is eleven and REALLY MEAN?? she literally calls me short fat and ugly all the time... I think my mom and sister make me the most insecure. My mom is always ragging on what I eat how much I eat what time I eat it's the WORST PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE???? like I'm trying. You think I don't ALREADY feel bad??? Like okay way to shame your HEALTHY BMI (bmi 22) child for... eating a sandwich for lunch? I can't even. Like YEAH IM A BIT CHUBBY BUT IT HURTS MY FEELINGS FOR Y'ALL TO POINT IT OUT COS IVE BEEN INSECURE MY WHOLE LIFE AND I JUST CAN'T EVEN. I CAN'T.

.... but we had fun at the mall. So yeah.

I think I ended up l1fting like, a choker, some masks (for covid), fake nails (for my sister), and some hair bands (since my hair is crazy in the morning and always gets in my eyes)

Also some mentos XD but I won't be eating those since I feel like shitttt thanks family ily ♡ /s no I don't

Also that stuff I was talking about being upset over the divorce? Last night? I'm better now so dw.

.... I'm ravenously hungry right nowwww  but. We are going to ignore that. Because hungry is good. Itz good to be hungry it means you're on the right track and if you stay hungry long enough you DO lose weight. You just gotta stay hungry. ALSO, ALSO IM TRYING TO AVOID BLOATING because if I bloat then I get insecure with no top on,,, and it's hot out, so what I wanna do is keep my tummy flat ALL DAY so I can wear like just my sports bra or smthn... i hate saying that I'm wearing a bra but like thAt's what it is if I called it anything else I'd confuse you.

If you're on this blog for the first time,,, I'm MALE, so like don't just assume I'm a girl.

I feel like I dont pass enough but also I dont really mind? Like people keep calling me a girl but I dont see it? I personally dont think I look feminine??

Also uhm. I'm kinda a kleptomaniac. I'm gonna check the diagnostic criteria for that because... I sorta l1ft every time I go out. Even if I dont NEED anything. It's not a problem, since I'm not getting caught, but it's still a CRIME and I should try and slow it down a bit.

At least I'm not HAULING as much as I used to.... I would FILL my mfing backpack, bro. I would go nuts. So I gotta try n be more careful so I don't get caught. I take too many risks... sex!!!!, theivery!!!!, and light drugs.

But isnt that what being 15 is about? Idk. I'll post pics of what I l1fted to my l1fting blog after I remove the metadata/exit data (location data) so I don't get doxxed...

Also I dont know if I told yall this but I might get contact lenses :) I think glasses make me look ugly so i dont wanna wear em. Also i hate having em on my face all the time it's just plain annoying.

4:18 p.m. update: okay so we're going home.

My mom is being kinda annoying shes like mocking me... Whateverrrrrrrrr idc. Jay is at his friends house rn, Eden is busy and Erin proabably won't come if Eden doesn't come so I guess I'm resigned to biking alone tonight.... probabaly after I pack all my shit of course.

11:20 a.m. update:

I didn't end up going biking... we took the bottles to the bottle depot, I got 20 bucks, and so did my sister even though she didnt even come :P

I got home and just went online. I was scouring Encyclopedia Metallum for any good active local metal bands that I could potentially see live in a concert in my city! 

I ate okay today, kinda ate more than I intended to before I slept because I was so hungry :| willpower 0 (zero)

Anyways I ate to maintain today :/ which is okay I guess.

I'm a bit upset since my dad was crying about the divorce and like I tried to comfort him and said it's okay to cry and stuff but... MAN THATS PAINFUL.... and like... shouldnt it be the other way around? I hate this. I hate everyone feeling bad. And I hate having to be so grown up.

Oh well... I was always the hound of hell, not the lamb of god.
