ended up telling my mom “she’s a billionaire pop star … she’s also a songwriter I’ve loved for a long time. both of those things are true.”

#not a conversation I can have for a long time as it’s too uncomfortable #but it was good to push through and say it #it’s interesting. I will always have a deep emotional connection to Taylor and also always love her as a person and an artist #and she IS a billionaire pop star with all of the attendant choices that go with that #and as i’ve gotten older there’s just been way more distance #in terms of my need to defend her choices or agree with them or even understand them #I have grown less defensive of her (in a good way)#and I think am more able to just See What Is To Be Seen #without. again. feeling the need to take it all on as something I have to defend on behalf of someone I am Holding Up as an Example #I’m not holding her up? like.#idk if this makes sense #But I remember reaching this point where I was just like ‘gosh I hope she never writes a song that contradicts any of the songs’#‘upon which I have built this artistic vision’#‘of her and what she stands for’#and it was so funny because it was this TERRIFIED desire on my part to freeze time #and freeze Taylor #so that my reading would be true forever #just wanted to put her in a cottage on the top of a hill and keep her safe there forever #metaphorically but also literally!#and then I’ve just had to let that go #best believe she’s still bejeweled lol #that was for me TOO #and anyway her sheer prolificness made it clear I was never going to be able to keep this watchful eye on it all #it was just going to have to pour in and I was going to have to let it #and also on some level emotionally personally I was going to have to step back #and be less invested in a certain way #in a very real daily life kind of way #anyway after the eras tour was so funny because i had this strong sense that we were being SWEPT out of the stadium #with Taylor’s trademark Efficiency. and it was hilarious. Like yes yes the love and connection and talent is real #and Billionaire Pop Star has places to be and a crowd of peasants to manage!!! (I say this with love and a sense of humor) anyway

#in a strange place today and i need to put this somewhere. i do not have a journal yet. this is it #my grandad was diagnosed with dementia years ago and the grandad i have now is often unrecognisable from the one i grew up with #and while this like isn’t fun and it is strange for him to look at me and not know me more times than he does. it has also been kind of l #lovely?#bc he thinks my granny is still alive so whenever i get to go see him i get to pretend she is too. and she is for a minute. and tho i am #glad she went before him. it is nice to say oh i’m popping in to see her after this grandad and talk about her like she’s hasn’t been gone #since i’ve been ten. my dad has spoken more to him in the last five years than he has his whole life #he was not an easy man. he was loud and friendly and hard working and funny and scary but not easy. in ways he is even #harder now. in others he is easier.#he is more of a child. this is what dementia can do to a brain. we are learning things about his childhood that no one alive has ever spoken #about. that no one knew. my dad doesn’t love him more now but he understands him better #my grandad taught me how to drive a tractor and how to fish through my dad and he has not recognised me in over a year and he #hasn’t walked since he broke his pelvis seven years ago and his muscles are nearly all gone. he is a fraction of the size he used to be. his #personality and body took up my childhood like adults on the screen in cartoons. he hasn’t dressed himself in a decade. he told one of the #nurses that after dinner he wanted ice cream plain like herself and nearly peed when she laughed and told him to fuck off #he is in there. he is himself. i know him. but he isn’t. he doesn’t know me but he allows me to tell him how to ppl he knows are doing. he #still somehow trusts me. we talk a lot about my granny and how she stayed up watching tv again last night so she’s tired today. don’t stay #long when you call in to see her?#whenever we would journey to see him and my granny and get in v late he’d ask us if we wanted apple tart and my granny would say michael.#not ur kids. u can’t parent them. he didn’t know my name yesterday but he asked me if i wanted apple tart #i hope he dies soon. for all that i will miss this. miss my dad having this. he would not want to live like this. it wouldntbe living to him

I personally enjoy fight club because it’s very interesting to watch the physical and mental self destruction of person trying to find a purpose in life when they don’t desire the typical traditional american ideal life. To see the descent into delusion.

#the narrator is a passive party sometimes he doesn’t express much of an opinion about Tyler actions and philosophies #he goes with it no questions asked until a point were it’s to late #I’m thinking about the scene where the narrator is at work in the movies when he forget he left the original copy of the rules of fight club #in the copy machine at work and in the movies it goes the same #just the mood is diffrent the boss is bemused not necessarily annnoyed he think this is funny he’s mocking him a little like dafuq is this #is this your lol and the narrrator goes on his rant about shooting the building and halfway through he’s bored with the edgy response and is #not just questioning why does Tyler need this again?#I found that so interesting it was the first time he really had a question for Tyler because I’m seeing this as a big betrayal because when #the other fight club pop up he’s genuinely confused as to how in the hell he found the time #I’m still enjoying my read #I just want to add this comment and sentiment to the fight club discussion on here because 👀 I wanna discuss it! it fun #fight club #fight club book #fight club 1999 #will come back and edit the tags

so i went on a first date with a girl a few months back and she was awful at following up then said she didn’t have the mental space to pursue a romantic relationship and tHEN today i open tiktok and what do i see? a post she made with her new gf, how’s everyone else’s christmas eve going lmaoo

#this sounds way more dramatic than it actually is tho like. i wasn’t terribly into her and i agreed to a follow up bc she was nice enough #but she kept putting it off which put me off even further to the point where i just didn’t care to hang with her again #and then i got a random ass text like a month and a half ago saying she didn’t have mental space for romance which. fair and tbh she made #my job easier bc i was v put off by the whole repeated rescheduling thing #it’s just? people are weird? and dating is weird??#also tiktok is terrifying for shoving that in my face #and like. i’m fine really. truly i am. i didn’t see it going anywhere and ive been on a handful of dates ever since #just odd the way it popped up

hmmmm kinda wanna rewatch all of spn………… haven’t done a full rewatch since season 10 was airing I think……… is this a terrible idea….. yes. will that stop me though………

#also I kinda wanna see if I can get through it all before Mookie and my mom finish it #they started their rewatch like 3 years ago now. they watched the 200th episode and stopped cause they got into K-pop and kdramas #but they’ve slowly started talking about picking it back up again before Mookie goes to college #so like. there’s a bit of a time constraint #I think I could do it #plus I have the dvds now and I kinda wanna watch the bloopers after each season too #and a lot of the later seasons I’ve only seen the episodes once #like everything post season 11/12 cause I stopped watching with the British men of letters #and only binged it all to watch the last episode live #I’m gonna do this aren’t I #personal #fun fact: back when there were fewer than 10 seasons of the show I used to do a full rewatch in less than a month. while in school. taking #lots of AP classes and doing a ton of other volunteering. [I have an urge to delete this account…not out of spite or hatred, but simply because I cannot tolerate being perceived by so many at the same time. It’s not exactly a big fuss - after all, this isn’t my first time disappearing completely from the radius of a fandom, with all of my posts inaccessible to a major extent. But since my things are reblogged so often, people can undoubtedly still see it. It’s so hard to explain my apprehension for it. A room full of strangers, occasionally looking in at your works, not even saying anything. Strangers. I’m fearful of strangers, not the acquaintances I met on this blog.
