my post about Danver’s racism hits so much harder knowing now that she had an Indigenous son and she lost him, implicitly to someone white and drunk like the woman she arrests in an early episode. She made a life with a man she loved and she had a baby with him - someone she likely felt growing inside her, that was born with her eyes, that looked nothing else like her but was her baby. Her special little boy. And then this town, out of nowhere, stole him from her in the most horrific way. So love nothing. Protect no one. Let nobody in. Until Navarro with all her problems and her heart and her belief and that connection which allows her to see Holden, to tell Liz what he said, comes crashing in. And everything changes.

teen titans 2003. fascinating comic. it tried so hard to heterosexualize kon and his outfit and yet also somehow made every interaction btwn tim and kon so charged like SO charged. it has misogynistic writing and yet this too somehow loops around to being gay like rose and cassie’s antagonism is supposed to read as catty probably and just reads as gay. the crimes it did to gnc character’s designs can never be forgiven but the way this coincided with the forced heterosexuality makes it so easy to read into an internalized homophobia phase. it made some batshit choices like thanks for paralleling tim cloning kon to canonically gay guys and thanks for tim and cassie’s reactions post kon death i have to sit with this forever now. every time i think about it i vividly picture myself hitting geoff johns with a baseball bat

Soap is not a pretty sleeper. He sleeps with his mouth open and drools down the side of his face. His limbs are either everywhere or wrapped so tightly around the nearest thing he can grab you might as well kiss freedom goodbye until he wakes up.

He sleeps until 10 and even when he does wake up he’s still basically asleep with how he stumbles around with half opened eyes.

But Ghost thinks he’s never seen anything so beautiful. Johnny holds him so tightly some nights, as if he’s afraid he’ll disappear at some point and doesn’t want to let him go. Other nights his limbs take up most the bed but he always unconsciously leaves a gap for Simon to settle into.

When he wakes up he’s all soft smiles and pliantly warm body, asking for hugs and just general affection until he can boot his brain up enough to be his usual, energetic self.

And when he’s asleep he looks so peaceful. The worries of their next mission and the absence of nightmares is apparent when he manages to sleep on a puddle of his own drool. He’ll always complain about it come morning but it’s how Simon knows he’s getting good sleep.

Because when he isn’t his mouth is screwed up so not a sound escapes him. His face is scrunched with worry lines and stress, the shadows deepening to make it look like his nightmares have aged him by years.

There’s almost nothing Ghost hates more than when those nights occur cause there’s nothing he can do. He can’t protect his Johnny from his own mind and it kills him that someone as amazing as him has to suffer through something like nightmares.

He knows logically that it’s what they all signed up for when they got into this line of work and there’s no helping it but it doesn’t mean he wishes it didn’t happen.
