hopper is santa claus and joyce is mrs claus (like actually the jolly old elf not a mall santa, the real actual santa claus)

obviously dustin, lucas, will, mike, el, and max are elves (dustin and lucas are in toy engineering, will is in toy design, mike is in broken toy repair, el is in cookie making, and max is a toy tester)

steve is the head elf, jonathan is the chief mall santa coordinator, nancy is the government correspondent, robin is head of the decoration/gift wrapping department, and billy is the reindeer trainer

(yes i made those positions up im having fun also YES steve is the head elf bc i had a crush on bernard from santa clause as a youth and still do dont look at me)

anyways

jonathan loves seeing all the pictures from the mall santas and makes sure they get to the right house and he started in the mail department so he just finds happiness in the behind the scenes stuff that makes a kids christmas magical

nancys government correspondence is primarily focused on keeping the military off of santas trail christmas eve and keeping the north pole a complete secret

robin works in gift wrapping because its easy and she likes finding fun ways to wrap presents and absolutely does "tits now" on all the let it snow wrapping paper AND also does those crazy twenty different boxes wrapping for all her friends

billy kind of keeps to himself and finds peace in tending to the reindeer and hooking them up to the sleigh and getting them exercise, he'll also chop firewood to make sure the Pole is warm for everyone

steve honestly just keeps the ship running smoothly, makes sure everyone is on schedule, hes a pretty laid back guy but still knows how to get everything done on time and makes a mean cup of cocoa

(okay now that backgrounds are kinda tied up, plot ish)

steve works hard bc he loves his job, hop and joyce are like family as are the kids and the other teens, but sometimes he works a little too hard and gets overwhelmed

his quiet place is the loft in one of the barns, its warm and theres a window that he likes to sit in front of and watch the snow fall and has a bunch of hand knitted blankets stashed up there too (most made by claudia who is the head baker)

billy eventually finds this place when hes doing a routine walk through and can see its very clearly someones space and leaves it be but also keeps an eye on the place

obv billy and steve run into each other when billys making his nightly rounds and steve is climbing down the ladder

steves very embarassed bc he kinda just got over a panic attack and his hair is all sweaty and his face is flushed and his eyes are still watery and billy is very straightforward and asks

"is that your hideout up there?"

steve nods and is about to apologize before billy stops him and tells him its okay

they end up going on a walk through the snow just talking about how they ended up where they are and what they left behind, about their favorite traditions, favorite christmas treats, just anything and everything

steve ends up paying attention to billy a bit more after that night, sees him talking to the reindeer, wrestle with some of the lumberjack elves after they drop off wood for the toy making, sees him sneak into the kitchens and sneak some fudge, and just kinda slowly falls in love with him

robin teases steve endlessly, bc he "evaluates" her department the most just to chit chat and gossip (normally about the chick in the holly jolly band robin has a crush on but oh how the turn tables)

(nancy and jonathan are kinda in the loop as in they talk sometimes but its awkward and polite so steve really doesnt take too much stock into their opinions)

it all comes to a head christmas eve, when the whole workshop, all departments, have their big pre flight meeting to make sure everythings in order and to have a little celebration, when billy and steve get stuck under the mistletoe

robin shouts that they have to kiss its the law, with her arm slung over the holly jolly band chick

the kids start chanting which gets everyone else chanting so naturally they kiss

its soft and sweet and too fast but worth it for how red billy is

but billys gotta get the reindeer hooked up and steves gotta do the final check with hop so they have to part and go do their things

(but dont worry, they find each other after lift off for another long walk through the snow with a thermos full of steves famous hot chocolate and end up at a nice little fire outside of billys place for some more of those soft sweet kisses)

all alone just started playng this is terrible lets get it

so day6. a band i only found out about in late june (thank u boxy) and before this i only ever listened to bts and mx bc my friends stan them so i thought i was gonna expect boys dancing, the usual. 

i clicked i smile and i lost my fucking shit as soon as i saw the instruments because prior to day6 i was a big 5sos fan so this was rly resonating to me tbh and i was just !!! so fukcng excited??? i never intended to even get into day6 honestly??? but after witnessing how good they are and watching about all of the available mvs at that point i was completely in awe so i caved a created a stan twitter for them.

now, this isnt even the most of it. after becoming a fan i realized how much more these 5 boys are. they compose (if im not wrong) and brian writes lyrics for the songs each month because of their everyday6 project and again, im wow-ed because??? the amount of dedication???? they went from releasing 2 title tracks in 2 years to releasing 12 title tracks and 12 bside tracks in a single year. they havent released the december song yet but haviing to work on 2 or more songs in 4 weeks is fucking amazing if you ask me. 

theyre really talented and theyre just so versatile (am i using that word correctly) and each month their songs sound different. this project has given them the opportunity to try new things and you can hear the steady improvement in each of their vocals (dowoonie not so much since he barely gets lines, but we all know hes working hard) and if you listen to their debut song - kongchu and compare it to the version they released along with sunrise it just???? the drumming has even changed from the original version nd its so noticeable that whenever i hear kongchu from 2015 i know its the old ver

to add to those, they do vlives every week and although those vlives are always scheduled it still makes my day seeing them and watching them do the usual. 

one thing im upset about is that how they barely promote themselves, they rarely get on variety shows (the most is individual schedules) and we, as mydays never really get to know the boys so its harder to fall for them as a whole. i dont know if its jyp or day6′s decision but if this is how they want to be known for - their music only, then so be it. we still have jae’s presence on youtube, music access and asc. thats the most we can get and it makes it difficult for us to learn about the rest but thats okay.

another thing. their concerts are something i always look forward to (even though my interest has died down a bit;) their concerts are just so fun to listen to?? there’ll always be mydays who stream the concert so everyone else can listen to them play and they sound so good live it drives me crazy. mydays are always so hyped and whenever mydays sing along it just gives me goosebumps??? bc theyre so???? good????? 

tldr; day6 deserve more, following wise and promotions wise because they work so hard and once this project ends i hope they’ll manage to rest but still remain as a presence that will be known instead of returning to jyp’s dungeon.

oh shit yo. theres a few people i care about so this is difficult but i was able to narrow it down to two people pretty easily.(you get what i give i cant choose just one). the first person(the Romanov friend) ive known since i was in primary school. we werent in the same friend group at first but we did get along. then a few years later we got closer and closer and shes one of the most important people in my life. like i cant imagine life without her. i actually wouldnt be alive without her. i know thats dramatic af but just knowing that shes in my life has stopped me from doing some very stupid things and i will forever be grateful for that. i also feel very lucky to have seen her grow into the amazing and strong person that she is today. the second person ive had an on and off past with. not because of fighting or anything it was all circumstances. we were in the same school, they changed schools, we’re both too awkward to be able to properly keep in touch lol, but recently we’ve reconnected and holy shit. this friendship blew the fuck up fast. shes brought a lot of happiness and security to my life. i could tell her anything about myself and she’d be like “yeah i get that” like i can relate so much to her it makes me feel less alone. i really cant wait to see all the amazing things she does with her life and im so happy to be in it. im a sappy fucker but i dont deserve these two honestly.

Random nostalgic babble, beware.

Every so often, I get nostalgic. As we all, of course, do; it can be for anything, or anyone. For me, it's the holidays, from Thanksgiving to Christmas. That whole feeling makes me..... so many different things. Sad, Happy, Grateful, Depressed, Anxious, Frustrated, and most strongly, incredibly Lonely. And since I made this blog to be brave, to show vulnerability, and be myself, I'm going to honor myself, and what I made this for. Me. So I'm going to do that. This is a very personal rant, so if you don't feel like reading it, don't. So whenever I think about the holidays, Christmas specifically, I get this...pain. In my chest. I feel sore, almost. It's a longing. You see, my Maman, she hates Christmas, and even moreso, My dad's family. But they hated her, so it was mutual. The thing is, my siblings and I, we were raised in kind of a.... mock Christian. All the values, but without the religion itself. My maman just didn't think it would be good for us to be bullied for being raised Pagan, so she labelled her Paganism as Christian. Which is fine, I get it. The Morals of the two religions are very similar. Basically, be the best you can be. Thats it. Anyway, so when I was little, we'd go up and have a family Christmas with my Dad's brothers and in-laws, his step-mom and usually his mom. But after maybe 4 years of doing this, my maman and my dads family just couldn't handle each other anymore, so we stopped going. I think I was 9. So we basically stopped having anything to do with it since then, and if the subject is brought up there will be a lot of... discourse. So when I was born, my maman knew from right then-she had told me this-that she wouldn't understand me. But of course, she loves me anyway and I love her. Moving on. She knew that, and since then, I've only proved her right. From art to music to movies, She doesn't get it. (But she supports me anyway, like any good maman.) And when it comes to holidays, she doesn't get that, either. She doesn't 'get' the feeling I get from the holidays, she has bad memories all throughout her life that makes the holidays sting for her. But for me? There's so much I long for that happens during the holiday season. Friends, for one. I'm a pretty solitary person, though I could be different, if I were put in public school. But I wasn't, so I never socialized. I never made childhood friends, other than 2. One I don't talk to anymore, and the other I recently came into contact with once more after almost a decade. but that's a different story. Family, for two. See, my family loves me. They do, and I love them. To death and back. But theres this very secret longing inside me that we didn't have to be who we are. That we could be normal, and do things normal people do. Like have Christmas. My family is dysfunctional in the most functional way I've ever seen. My parents are civil, and yet they aren't. My mom is rightfully bitter about her life, and my dad is broken in many ways. But they're good parents. My siblings, are also a bit broken. We all are. Two have had trauma, my brother and I were left "to our own devices" quite more often than maybe we should have been. But we all.... get along. We're all sad, but we're managing it. Most of the time. Anyway, continuing on. The holiday cheer itself is something I feel...depraved of, I suppose. Y'know. Cuddling up with a hot drink, with friends and family near. Dressing in red or green or white, decorating a tree(a fake one, tho. Those you can have for years. Unless I have a fireplace, Id rather have one I can keep for ages.) Reading books with snow outside falling outside and white lights from the Christmas tree illuminating the room, playing in snow with people you love, walking into decorated shops, Christmas Carols, (which I'm going to try to learn this year so I can play carols this year, wherever I end up being.) And then there's a certain fun to walking around beautiful places in Winter, taking selfies, drinking hot cocoa or coffee or chai. Having breakfast with friends in a coffee shop or bakery surrounded by decorations and white snow. Honestly, I'd really just like to have a blissful Christmas. Just something I can look back on when I'm down and not just smile, but grin. It's funny, I love being abnormal. I embrace it, I relish it, I revel in it. I love that I'm quirky. I do. But sometimes I just want to be fucking normal, and happy. Even though I wouldn't actually trade my enlightement for ignorance, I guess I just would have liked to have a little bit more time before it all went to shit. Around 9yo, about the same time we stopped going to the family xmas thing, Maman got obsessed with uncovering the truth. Of everything. So me, at 9, had to learn about the real American Government, the ugly, brutal reality behind everything. And tbh that hurts. It hurts that the chance to remember being a kid slipped away, because I'm smart enough to ask questions and Maman is smart enough to answer honestly. And the worst part about it is that I get this feeling and I get frustrated with myself for feeling this way because of the tens if thousands of people who didn't get all the amazing things I did. So that just makes it that much worse. I hope this year is different, and that I can spend Christmas in a place where I feel loved, wanted, and needed. Where I feel fulfilled. Sorry guys, I know the schedule is a bit off this week but to be fair BoogiePop started it! Just randomly dropping 4 episodes at once. That’s rude to us reviewers. Ok Ok, discussers and occasional screencap takers…

Anywho Shania and I are back, braving snow and lack of sleep to bring you this now slightly outdated BoogiePop review. There was a pretty steep drop off in reviews this week so we thought it was important that we do our part. But I can’t say I’m thrilled about it.

Shania was a bit too busy to host this week so I get a second round. I wanted to make sure I gave Shania plenty of room. Sometimes I have a bad habit of taking over when I do these things because I just throw everything I can think of down on the page and there isn’t much left for the other person to comment on.

So the post is split in two, the first half is just an outline for Shania to let us know what she thought of this week’s BoogiePop and Others and I put my blathering at the end where you can conveniently skip it if you like. Kind of like a timestamp on a YouTube video!

Same. I nearly turned off the show when I saw it cause its quite unpleasant to me. Plus theres no real reason to test on them. But that’s a rant for another day.

I knew it would cause something to happen. When people try to evolve into something better or stronger, there’s always going to be drawbacks. For example in Tokyo Ghoul with the Doves.

What was your favourite part?

To be perfectly honest I didn’t exactly have a favorite part. It was pretty even keel.

Fair enough, although to me there was a big difference between the first and second half. 

Apparently, this storyline is going to continue into at least one more episode. Are you happy about that?

I kinda wish it would stretch a little longer because I feel like they could do more with it.

As for me, I found last week’s episode a lot more compelling and just more satisfying. Scarecrow was an interesting character and his connection to the organization made them a much more interesting villain than in the previous arc.

By contrast, eveil shrink lady might as well have been twirling a curly mustache for how much of a flat stereotypical villain she was. And gross out scares doesn’t fit the atmosphere of the show very well at all.

As far as I’m concerned the first half of the episode kept going from boring to unpleasant and back again with very little to keep me watching. Also, I’m quite unclear as to why a further step in human evolution would make us seemingly immune to physical harm. Yes, we have gain a lot of longevity but that is mostly due to advances in medicine, technology and lifestyle. As far as just plain physical resilience goes I think we may have taken a step back. Peanuts kill us now… At this point, nit picking at this particular plot element seems very silly but as it’s the motivation for both the organization and he shrink (yes I forgot her name), I believe it deserves a bit more context.

However, despite everything, BoogiePop itself remains an interesting character and I thought the episode really picked up as soon as it made its appearance.

The unsaid implications that young Miyashita has been carrying BoogiePop for a while and the consequences it has had on her life were in fact one of the more interesting revelations of the series. For some reason I had always figured that BoogiePop could make people forget about it whenever convenient. The idea that it created a rift between the girl and her mother, to the point where she was brought to seek out psychiatric help, really makes me consider the situation in a new light.

It might be because I found the new characters particularly weak, but I thought BoogiePop really commanded the scene. I honestly would have liked their discussion to have gone on a little longer despite desperately wanting the episode to end just five minutes earlier. And that’s a tribute to…something…

I can’t say the characterisation is particularly good or the pacin. The narrative is still a holey mess but it manages to make me want o know what happens next, nevertheless. For reasons I can’t quite explain, I don’t’ believe the series to be all that good, but I also really want it to be good. Such are the mysteries of BoogiePop, I guess! What did you guys think?
