In the early hours of the morning up my street ......
Some early morning excitement in our street this morning as a real life episode of COPS played out.
Credit to the license plate reader at the front of the neighborhood that alerted the police that an escaped fugitive from another county they were actively looking for had entered our street. They waited for backup units to arrive then they spotted his car on a cross street. Unfortunately for him he turned left down the main street instead of out to the main road. When he realized our street was a dead end cul-de-sac he turned around and slammed head on into one of the many police cars chasing him. The air bag deployed on the police car. The suspect's car ended up partially in the neighbors front yard (see pic). The suspect got out and ran but was quickly caught at the side of the neighbors house after a brief scuffle. He had tossed some cocaine in the yard and apparently also tried to eat some of it. No fewer than 12 local and metro police cars with sirens blaring had descended on a sleepy cul-de-sac by 3:30am. One officer was taken to the hospital by a colleague for a check, but should be ok.

Meanwhile, at my end of the neighborhood, we were being serenaded all night by owls.
