March Is Known As 1 Of My Most Favorite Months Of The Early Year Besides January
IRISH AMERICAN HISTORY OR HERITAGE MONTH IS IT WERE.
YES YES YES. THE IRISH HAVE A MONTH ALL TO THEMSELVES AND COINCIDENTALLY
IT COEXIDES WITH OUR VERY GOOD LUCK/ LUCKIEST DAY OF THE YEAR.
ST. PATRICK'S DAY 🍀☘🇮🇪
Which would make sense anyway since its the only Irish Holiday anyone celebrates besides Ireland 🇮🇪
Anyway
Irish-American Heritage Month is celebrated by proclamation of the President and Congress in the United States to honor the achievements and contributions of Irish immigrants and their descendants living in the United States. It was first celebrated in 1991. The heritage month is in March to coincide with Saint Patrick's Day, the Irish national holiday on March 17. Heritage Months are usually proclaimed by nations to celebrate centuries of contributions by a group to a country.
So as a Fellow Irishman myself from My Dad's side of course.
To all of My Fellow Irish-Americans and Irishmen and Irish Women 🇮🇪
Go Forth and Make This Month Of March Grand as the Emerald Isles themselves and Let Our Culture Shine like A Shamrock ☘
THIS IS IRISH-AMERICAN HISTORY AND HERITAGE MONTH 🍀☘🇮🇪

This Gregory & Cassie Twins Propaganda🗣️🗣️🗣️
😈 tell me your hc’s about them
(This ask is so long overdo I am so damn sorry- my Headcanons on them are constantly shifting so I kept editing this-)
Can’t wait for Ruin to absolutely demolish all these! 💕💕💕
Tumblr media
Cassie & Gregory
-Cassie is the older between the two of them, her and Gregory are Irish twins (siblings born in the same year)
-The two of them are actually Emily’s! They’re Sammy’s kids, their full names are Gregory Emily & Cassiopeia Emily.
-Their mother is Samantha Franz (Susie’s sister), (her and Sammy ending up together started as a joke for my AU cause Sam & Sam- and then I ended up getting attached to it—), making them niece and nephew to both the Puppet and Chica.
-Gregory is the far more troubled between the two of them, he frequently is at odds with their father, skips school, and runs away from home. He’s just always struggled to connect to people his age leading to issues at school.
-Cassie is rather dry and blunt in her mannerisms, think a Wednesday Addams type of demeanor.
-They both remind Sammy of himself and Charlie in every way, which considering he never completely healed from his siblings passing- kinda hurt both ways- and he may or may not have accidentally referred to both of them as Charlie on multiple occasions.
-Gregory had a rather distant relationship with Sammy, which is why he found comfort and a father figure in Glamrock Freddy
-Cassie is a golden child honor student. She has the highest GPA in her year and Gregory is often compared to his sister by his teachers, emphasizing that he could be better. There’s definitely no resentment whatsoever ever hahaha-
-Both of them are equally rude and condescending. Especially to each other. It’s a sibling thing.
-Samantha is Mexican-American and she put work into making sure both of her children connected with their heritage. Cassie can speak fluent Spanish as she’s a quick learner. Gregory only paid attention when he could learn swears and insults.
-Both would rat each other out to their teachers in school for nothing. They’re both lil snitches who want to see each other rot in the confines of detention and/or grounding.
-Only adult both of them show complete respect for us Samantha, she’s the only one who can rain the two of them back into check. She’s strict on both them and their dad why the hell would they try to upset her-
-They always find ways to tick each other off, Cassie by throwing Gregory’s stuff out a window when he’s annoying her, and Gregory by getting onto her Switch and deleting her Animal Crossing’s save file. He almost died that night.
-Gregory is a trans boy! Cassie is the first person he came out to and she helped him decide on his new name and how to come out to their parents.
-Even though they’re a thorn in each other’s side they’re really the only people the other has really been able to fully trust..
-When Gregory had ran away during the time of Security Breach, he’d been gone for nearly 2 months, sending his family into a panic as that had been the longest he’d ran away. Cassie received a message on a walkie talkie she and Gregory owned a few months after the time of SB instructing her on how to find him..
-Both of them will bully a couple of furries with no hesitation-

🩰𓈒 ⋆ ⑅ ˚ ₊ ୨୧      ANALISE was a soloist under FLOWERBANK Entertainment. She was once a member of ALLUME's THIRD GENERATION as their main vocalist and center. Once graduating the group in 2015, Analise would go on to have a prolific solo career and was on the rise to being the top-performing soloist under Flowerbank. Tragically, just three years after her solo debut in 2019, she passed away in hospital due to unknown reasons. In 2021, sasaengs of the late singer would go on to reveal she died of a drug overdose in an attempt to tarnish her name even after death.
TW // DEATH, CHILD EXPLOTATION, ONLINE HARASSMENT, AND DRUG OVERDOSE.
Tumblr media
🩰𓈒 ⋆ ⑅ ˚ ₊ ୨୧     CHAPTER   ONE.     ──     HUMBLE   BEGINNINGS.
Analise Yan was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 21st, 1997 to an Irish-American mother and a Chinese father. Her mother was a set designer and her father was a talent manager. Analise has no memories of her life without a camera in her face, her first memory being of her on the early 2000's sitcom "Our House" when she was just three years old. She had a very successful acting career, becoming a silver-screen darling before age ten. She scored multiple TV show roles, direct to VHS/DVD movie roles, and began a music career.
Her music career was primarily targeted towards children her own age, performing on the Disney channel and having her music videos showcased on Nickelodeon. In 2007 at just ten years old, she starred in the popular and now classic Nick TV show iCarly as the character "Melody" who acted as Carly and Spencer's youngest sister.
Her run on iCarly was shortlived as in the second season in 2008, she would leave the show due to unknown reasons and would disappear from the American entertainment industry for good.
🩰𓈒 ⋆ ⑅ ˚ ₊ ୨୧     CHAPTER   TWO.     ──     THRID  GENERATION.
After she vanished from the American limelight, Analise shocked many by appearing in the Korean Pop Scene. At just 13 years old, she debuted in the third generation of ALLUME. During their debut ceremony, Analise revealed she had begun training in 2008 after leaving iCarly. She also would say she was a big fan of f(x), 2NE1, and Wonder Girls and they inspired her to take up Flowerbank's offer to begin training for the third generation of Allume.
Though showing exceptional talent at just 13 in singing and dancing, she was heavily scrutinized by netizens for a multitude of reasons. From her mixed heritage to her "annoying" persona, she seemed to be the target of online harassment. The harassment continued off-screen as well, often being yelled at by fans of the other members to "get out of the way" or having marriage proposals shouted at her.
Despite having a hate train against her, she remained one of the most popular members during her run in Allume many comparing her to the likes of Jung Krystal or Bae Suzy in terms of icon status and notoriety. She's easily considered one of the most widely-known idols in South Korea in the 2010s.
🩰𓈒 ⋆ ⑅ ˚ ₊ ୨୧     CHAPTER   THREE.     ──     SOLOISMS  .
After her graduation from Allume in 2015, she instantly began her highly anticipated solo career. She debuted solo just a month after her graduation with the mini album "Graduation" with the promotional track "I'm Shy" which became an instant chart-topper and K-pop classic.
The success of her debut would be repeated with each comeback, growing in fame and popularity with every performance she gave. In every sense of the word, Analise was a star. You could not walk down the street without seeing her face or hearing her music.
She picked up acting again in 2016, acting in her first major movie role in "The Train to Busan" to major success. She also starred in "My Annoying Brother" and made her drama debut in "Love In Our Hands" as the lead actress. Her acting was highly praised, with many saying Analise is the perfect all-rounder and can do anything she sets her mind to.
Throughout her musical career, she had six mini-albums, seven singles, and three full albums. You can find her discography on the Flowerbank Website (WIP).
🩰𓈒 ⋆ ⑅ ˚ ₊ ୨୧     CHAPTER   FOUR.     ──     THE  CONCLUSION.
In the early morning of June 15th, just two weeks after announcing her third full album, news broke that an unnamed idol had been rushed to the hospital via ambulance under mysterious circumstances. This news sent social media into a frenzy as people attempted to uncover the identity of the idol and the nature of the incident.
For about three hours, netizens engaged in wild speculation, tossing around various names in an attempt to solve the mystery. Eventually, the Seoul police department stepped in, issuing a statement that identified the hospitalized idol as Analise Yan, who was in critical condition. However, the specific reason for Analise's hospitalization was never disclosed due to "personal reasons," a detail that sasaeng fans did not respect.
Sasaeng fans began making numerous harassing calls to various hospitals in an effort to uncover the truth behind Analise's condition. This prompted the police to issue another statement, warning of legal consequences for anyone who continued to pester hospitals for information.
Finally, after five hours of intense speculation and uncertainty, Flowerbank Entertainment released a statement on behalf of Analise.
"Hello, We are Flowerbank Entertainment, During the early hours of the morning, our beloved artist, Analise, required immediate medical attention and was transported to the hospital under urgent circumstances. To safeguard her privacy and well-being, we must emphasize that the specific reasons for her hospitalization will not be disclosed. We are committed to taking legal actions against any attempts to breach her privacy. At this moment, Analise's condition remains critical. Regrettably, we are unable to provide additional details. We kindly request your heartfelt thoughts and prayers for Analise as she faces this challenging period. Your unwavering love and support are deeply appreciated. With gratitude, The Flowerbank Entertainment Team"
Tragically, on June 18th Analise passed away in the hospital after three days in the hospital. There are still little to no details about her final days in the hospital. Flowerbank would release a statement around three hours after she passed
"Hello, This is Flowerbank Entertainment, It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we must share the devastating news. Our beloved artist, Analise, has passed away at the hospital. Analise fought valiantly during her time in the hospital, but despite the best efforts of the medical team, her condition became insurmountable. She departed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. We extend our deepest condolences to Analise's family, friends, and all those who cherished her and her artistry. This is an immense loss, not only to Flowerbank Entertainment but to the entire entertainment community. Analise's memory will forever live on through her music and the impact she made on the world. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. In memory of our dear Analise, The Flowerbank Entertainment Team"
Analise's funeral, against the wishes of her family and loved ones, was very publicized. The entire industry mourned the beloved child star turned superstar, all of her co-workers, co-stars, and labelmates attending her funeral as well as other notable celebrities. Hundreds of fans gathered to pay their respects at various balloon-releasing ceremonies and fans held memorial services.
Flowerbank would create a memorial site for Analise in their building for fans to mourn her, leave letters and flowers for her, and celebrate her as an artist. The memorial site is still up in their museum.
At her personal request, Analise was buried at Yeongnak Park in Busan, South Korea, and is where she currently rests.
🩰𓈒 ⋆ ⑅ ˚ ₊ ୨୧     CHAPTER   FIVE.     ──     LIFE  AFTER DEATH.
Even in her passing, Analise continues to hold a special place in the hearts of Flowerbank Entertainment and the broader K-pop community. Her posthumously released third album not only climbed to the top of the digital charts but also sold an impressive 1.5 million copies, solidifying its status as one of Flowerbank's best-selling soloist albums.
The title tracks from the albums "New" and "One Chance" enjoyed a remarkable ten-month reign atop the Goan charts before gradually descending from the top ten. Meanwhile, the B-side track "My Sky" maintained its chart-topping position for an impressive seven months. Furthermore, all the associated music videos garnered over ten million views within just one week, marking a significant milestone in her career.
Every year, Flowerbank Entertainment commemorates Analise's birthday on their social media platforms, as well as the day she departed this world, ensuring that her memory lives on and reminding the world of the star she was.
However, in 2021, despite her enduring popularity, there were those who sought to tarnish her legacy by leaking her hospital records, which revealed the tragic truth that she had succumbed to a drug overdose. This revelation answered the long-standing question surrounding her passing. Flowerbank Entertainment promptly took legal action against the individuals responsible for the leak, who have since refrained from posting online.
Nevertheless, despite these efforts to sully her image, Analise remains an artist who is adored and cherished by countless fans.

St. Paddy and the Leprechaun 🍀
Tumblr media
St. Patrick's Day is a celebration of Irish culture and heritage, marked by parades, music, and the wearing of green.
St. Patrick's Day celebrations have been observed in the United States since the 18th century.
The first recorded parade took place in New York City in 1762 when Irish soldiers serving in the British army marched to honor St. Patrick.
Tumblr media
As the Irish-American population grew, so too did the prominence of the holiday, with cities like Boston and Chicago adopting their own grand parades and events.
Tumblr media
The National Archives Catalog offers a glimpse into the ways in which the leprechaun has been integrated into American culture.
Tumblr media
From political cartoons to advertisements, the image of the leprechaun has been used to represent Irish identity and, at times, to convey stereotypes.
Tumblr media
In recent years, St. Patrick's Day has evolved into an opportunity to celebrate the contributions and achievements of Irish-Americans while still enjoying the playful, magical spirit of the leprechaun.

I was told that you were the origin of Asher O'Connell, so I've come to give my absolute thanks to you for doing such an amazing thing<3 MUCH THANK!
Hey! Haha aw thank you so much for this!? Yeah it's kinda crazy to see how many people liked it and how it's stuck! The full name of Asher James-Darragh O'Connell was born out of conversations I had with @romirola who needed a surname for a fic- I always really liked the idea of Asher being Irish-American, admittedly partially because I'm Irish myself, so it was easy for me to suggest names! Celtic history and folklore is steeped in magic so I felt it plausible for his family to have emigrated from here, plus O'Connell is a beautiful Irish name meaning "strong as a wolf" - so there you go!
I toyed with a few different similar names, but I thought 'Asher O'Connell" just sounded so good!! Re my proposed middle names - having multiple middle names is a common tradition here, there's a whole bunch of reasons, but I just thought having the OG Irish spelling of Darragh (as opposed to Dara) would be cool. I always imagined the O'Connells being really proud of their Irish heritage, and make an effort to keep gailec/gaeilge names in the family.
I'm so chuffed people like it lol, it was just a silly notion I took a few months back and it's so cool to see people liking it! Obvs Talbot is now cannon, and that's a lovely name, but I think O'Connell just fits - so I reckon I'll stick with it :P
Thanks for the love! Big hugs xoxoxo

The Prince and Princess of Monaco with the President of Ireland Eamon de Valera and his wife Sinead in 1961. The couples visit marked Ireland's first ever state visit since the creation of the new state.
How Grace Kelly became an unlikely icon of Irish-American assimilation
The ascension of a Catholic Irish-American to princess paved the way for the Irish to be accepted as American ‘royalty’
1 Apr 2023, The Irish Times
A statue of Grace Kelly, the Hollywood actor who became a princess, was unveiled in Mayo recently near Drimurla, where her grandfather’s cottage still stands. This came a month after Trinity College Dublin added a bust of Abbey Theatre co-founder Lady Gregory to its Old Library. Although public women of Irish connection are finally being included in official memory and memorial, Grace Kelly’s significance to Ireland and Irish America generally remains neglected.
Kelly, awarded an Oscar for The Country Girl (1954), appeared in 11 films between 1951 and 1956. She received the title of Princess Grace of Monaco upon her marriage to Prince Rainier III of Monaco in April 1956. Grace was a cultivated woman whose deep and often publicly shared interest in Ireland and its culture led her widower to endow the Princess Grace Irish Library of Monaco in her honour. In her public life, she ably represented both her heritage and her adopted principality: Grace formally lunched with the Kennedys in May 1961, a month before making an impactful state visit to Ireland during which she called at the ancestral Kelly cottage in Drimurla.
Tumblr media
Princess Grace of Monaco and US president John F Kennedy at the White House, 1961.
John Henry Kelly, born in Drimurla in the Famine year of 1847, left for Pennsylvania 20 years later. Grace was the granddaughter of John Henry and the daughter of the handsome and athletic John B Kelly, who earned his fortune during America’s 1920s building boom. Grace was raised in a large home in a residential Philadelphia neighbourhood on the Schuylkill river banks. This waterway divided the Irish “new money” from the “society” Anglo-Protestant elite on the western bank along the so-called Main Line. The Kelly home was a fine one, as I saw with my own eyes when I delivered a talk there in December. However, to “old money” Wasp Philadelphia, the fact that it had been newly built in the late 1920s with bricks from the family’s own firm was unpalatable. Altogether, in the highly socially and racially stratified city in which Grace was born, wealth and success were not enough for those of recent immigrant background to be fully accepted into its uppermost echelon.
In order to dilute the usual associations of an Irish Catholic background, movie studios created a slightly icy but elegant persona for Kelly when she was on the rise in the early 1950s. Nevertheless, the assumption that a Philadelphia Irish Catholic girl could not quite make the cut coloured coverage: in 1955, Time magazine suggested that although publicists tagged “Miss Kelly as ‘a Main Line debutante,’” she was “neither Main Line nor a debutante, but she is the next thing to both.”
Such subtly snooty comments melted away when Kelly’s engagement to Rainier was announced in January 1956.
Their wedding in Monaco cathedral three months later was one of the largest international media events of the 1950s. It was broadcast live on television by MGM, watched by 30 million people. It is not remarked upon today, but this unambiguously Catholic spectacular came only three years after the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, also a momentous televisual event. For some of those of Irish nationalist persuasion in Ireland and the US, Kelly’s globally visible transformation to royalty was an Irish Catholic riposte to the crowning of the new British monarch at Westminster Abbey in 1953.
Tumblr media
Grace Kelly, now the Princess of Monaco on her wedding day 1953.
The ascension of a Catholic Irish-American to the status of princess paved the way for the Irish to ascend to “American royalty”, so to speak: the first Catholic Irish president was elected only four years later. The Kennedy era tends to be the beginning point in assessments of the final full assimilation of the Irish in America, but it was Kelly who initiated the transformation.
The princess’s gorgeous white bridal gown also inspired women in her ancestral country. Caitriona Clear has noted that into the early 1950s, the wedding outfit of most Irish women was a formal day dress or suit and that the white dress and veil was worn mostly by brides from elite backgrounds. It seems that the widely disseminated image of the white bridal gown of a woman of modest Irish roots made such attire approachable for ordinary women in Ireland: by 1957 the colour of wedding dresses was so taken for granted that it went unmentioned in Irish newspaper accounts. Kelly’s donation of the gown to the renowned Philadelphia Museum of Art for its permanent collection soon after her wedding suggests the sudden confidence of the Catholic Irish in a city that had long socially excluded them.
In her role as princess, Kelly wielded immense soft power as the internationally known representative of a tiny principality long overshadowed by its powerful neighbour, France. Biographer Donald Spoto suggests that the global spotlight brought by Kelly transformed Monaco: it disarmed French attempts to assert control over the principality, revitalised its economy and, through the princess’s efforts, made it a hub for cultural events. Even Kelly’s final film, after a long hiatus, Rearranged (1982), a comedy short in which she plays herself, was a disguised promotion for her beloved Monaco Flower Show. Poignantly, Rearranged remains unreleased as it was unfinished at the time of the princess’s death in a car accident in 1982.
Tumblr media
Princess Grace of Monaco with a priest and entourage climbing a hill to the Shrine of Our Lady at Croagh Patrick, Co Mayo, in 1961.
Kelly had purchased the ancestral Drimurla cottage and the surrounding small-holding in 1976, suggesting a deep reservoir of family feeling. If the princess always remembered Drimurla, then Drimurla returned the favour: residents sent a wreath of wildflowers picked in the fields around the ancestral Kelly home to Monaco for her funeral.
Mary M Burke is the author of Race, Politics and Irish America: A Gothic History (Oxford University Press), available in Hodges Figgis and online.

My family has been completely cut off from our Jewish and cultural history for a few generations for Holodomor- and Being-Jewish-in-Austria-related reasons. you can fill in the blanks.
As you can imagine, it's been a rough few years for us to try and. Connect any of those historical dots. Reconnect with heritage. Particularly given the last few months.
And I haven't... taken the stance a lot of more-culturally-rooted Jewish friends and aquaintances expected. As a firmly anti-colinialist socialist, and as a (completely culturally disconnected) nominally jewish person... maybe I'm just too totally disconnected from our history of persecution to understand how any of us feel justified in the current state or actions of Israel.
Like. I've been burying myself in reading. I started out years ago, wanting to understand what my family experienced - and that included the founding of Israel, the history of the entire region. And the more I've learned, the more uncomfortable I've become (and the more I've reaffirmed my loathing for the English, jfc).
at the end of the day, regardless of lost ties, I know where I stand. the land I live on is occupied land. the nation I used to live in actively occupies territory the world over. there is nothing anyone could say to me to persuade me that this anti-Palestinian violence is different enough to be any more justified.
this is not safety. this is not a reclamation of heratige or history. this is the same violence that was visited upon us. the same violence that separated generations of us from our history, our families, our homes, our lives. i fail to see how this seething, self-righteous conquest does anything except to perpetuate a cycle of grotesque pain and suffering.
the solidarity between ordinary people yoked under bloody-handed governments, and those ties between all occupied peoples? these are the ties that bind stronger than any others. I thought we understood this. do we not have solidarity with the Armenians, the Irish, the First Nations people of Australia, the Native Americans in the north and south Americas? Should it not, at the least, say something that these groups... extend their solidarity to Palestine?
maybe that makes me a "bad jew". maybe I just don't count as jewish. maybe I'm just too out of touch with my heratige to understand. who know?

Instead of complaining that there’s no white history month, do some research about your actual specific heritage and celebrate that. There might even be a month already for your heritage. For example, Italian American Heritage and Culture Month is in October. Irish American Heritage Month is in March.

Ur bio says ur an equestrian so what breed of horse gives off specific NFL player vibes? I saw this Faroese pony with Mahomes mane and ever since I can’t stop assigning horse vibes
*rises from dead to answer this a month late*
After doing some EXTENSIVE research (debating with one of my riding friends) I have answers. Here are some of my favs (and possibly not favs) as horse breeds:
I was torn between a thoroughbred and a standardbred for Aaron Rodgers and then I had a THOUGHT. A registered black Saddlebred who’s a solid 16hh, was never trained in the gait, and used to do stadium jumping for a pro and now does dressage for an amateur with big dreams.
I chose the American Bashkir Curly/North American Curly (name is HIGHLY debated) for Mahomes. Also 16hh, this bay was brought by an ambitious pro and brought them to the highs. Curlies are a rarer breed, and even then not often seen in the show ring, but they have are very versatile and have proven themselves in the upper levels!
Travis Kelce has been assigned: the Percheron! Seventeen hands and gorgeously dappled, this draft horse has been seen at the TOP levels of combined driving with his partner, the young Creed Humphrey.
I had to, of course, assign the classic thoroughbred (one of my personal favorite breeds) to someone, and then I had to pick multiple. Because honestly, which NFL position does the Thoroughbred fit better than the runningback, although it's easily applied to the Wide Reciever position. Strong, fast, and powerful… and easily injured, I assign the thoroughbred to players such as Christian McCaffret, Austin Ekler, and Saquon Barkley. And with recievers I’d assign it to Randall Cobb, Devante Parker, and Sammy Watkins, among others.
And now Joe Burrow. I knew I had to include him for the clicks, as much as I pray he retires tomorrow. After much debate, I eventually settled on the Irish Sport Horse with a little thoroughbred heritage. 16.2 hands, bay, and gorgeous, this horse excells in eventing! He’s barreled through the lower levels and now is ready to win a 5* event.
