had an intake appt with a new therapist today. some hilarious highlights:

her: what is your job?

me: self employed

her: oh yeah, i remember your partner was saying you do a little publishing company, that's so cool, you know i was an english major and i always thought i'd write or [gushing about the humanities intensifies]

her: and the next question is income level

me: [reading checkboxes to see what lowest income level is] under 10k

her: *liiightly chagrined*

me explaining the structure of my family of origin and confusing her so much she put me down as the 3rd child in a family with 0 additional siblings

attempting to guess which gender option my partner would choose from the listed options

calling my 'culture of origin' waspy and she's just learned this word yesterday from said partner

me: none

her: and how would you describe your skill at parenting?

me: very good!

YOU HAVE ASKED A LOADED QUESTION BUT THAT'S NOT A BAD THING IN THE SLIGHTEST

Cupcake is my persona oc and my main in the Manor that @angsty-prompt-hole originally mentioned. So she's basically me with a Lot of extra steps.

The main one being that she's dead.

Cupcake is a ghost who, at the time she came across the Manor, had no memory of anything prior to her death, or even how she died in the first place. This included her own name, hence why she goes by the nickname "Cupcake" instead.

The first memories she could recall were being found in a forest by a man named Josef (another one of my ocs who I could ramble for ages about ngl). He saw her apparition appear in the woods mid-panic attack, and upon realizing she a) did not remember shit and b) had only just recently died, decided to try and help her re-adjust to existence as a ghost.

The thing is, though...Cupcake isn't a normal ghost, at least not within the limits of my own personal ghost lore. She has a tendency to glitch out, quite literally Vanellope von Schweetz style. And she also has...strings. She can summon them and use them as weapons, but their default is to appear tied around her ankles and wrists. Which is, y'know, mildly concerning, but she would usually just try not to think about it too much.

Eventually Cupcake would leave to venture out on her own and find her own place. Somewhere along the way, she ended up finding the Manor. That place, over time, would become a new home to her, and she would befriend several of the residents and frequent visitors. She would even encounter and eventually fall for Lucas, a Fallen Angel of sorts created by @alexorsobean. She would also become surprisingly close friends with the local Satan Spawn, Cyber (created by @isa-ghost).

It would also be here, after really settling down a little more, that some of Cupcake's memories would start to return to her. Small, mundane ones, usually. Like how blue was her favourite colour, or that she really liked to draw. But there would be other memories, too. Like how she viscerally hated the sound of tv static. Or how anxious demons used to make her. Or how the sight of the strings attached to her own limbs made something in her stomach just drop in a way nothing else could.

And then, of course, the fact that she didn't just die. She was killed. Someone had murdered her.

The moment she recalled that little fact, she knew she had to figure out who.

And the rabbit hole of research she fell down after that actually basically brings us to the present! The past few months we've been rp-ing out the plot that revolves around Cup and her (so very hated) murderer. What's their most and least favorite thing about each other?

Rowan's light-hearted least favorite thing about Urianger is his beard. It's effectively muttonchops and she finds that a little silly if she's honest. Though she's not going to ask him to shave them because she's pretty sure he would look DRASTICALLY different without them. And also she gets to play with his facial hair when he's sleepy and he makes funny faces so she's not gonna ask him to go sans a beard anytime soon.

Urianger's light-hearted least favorite thing about Rowan is the fact she keeps her hair tied up all the time. Like, sure, he can play with the ends easily with it up but the man wants to run his fingers through it! It's green and pretty! So what if it gets in the way in combat...

I think I might be lazy and say they both like the other's eyes. Rowan has soft silver eyes that he could drown in and Urianger's eyes are bright and lively when he talks about things he likes.

yknow i never noticed the sheer rareness of images having ids or alt text on this website until i started adding alt text to my art (and trying to remember to add it to any images i post in general, especially text screenshots) and that makes me kinda sad

i feel like a lot of the 'i hate kids' crowd would be more tolerant if they understood that due to a kid's limited experience of the world that 4 hour flight might just be the longest they've ever had to sit still for or that trapped finger might literally be the most pain they've ever felt in their short life or they might not have ever seen a person with pink hair ever so of course they want to touch it or nobody's told them yet that they can't run around the museum and they only just learned cheetahs are the fastest animals so of course they want to put that to the test. how were they supposed to know etc etc.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again
