If descendants was set in a modern world, what do you think their last names would be?

If it were set in our world? I’m not entirely certain! Some of these kids are from cultures where I’m not 100% certain on their surname conventions and some of them are from cultures with no direct equivalent, like Jane and Mal. Upon a little research, here are some ideas:

VKs

Mal - Guillory, which according to behindthesurname.com is derived from Germanic words meaning ‘will’ and ‘powerful’. 

Carlos - Probably still De Vil. 

Jay - His full name is Jakeem ibn Jafar al-Rasheed. That’s a mouthful though, so he goes by Jay. 

Evie - She has two, as is the custom in her father’s country - first his, Rojas and then her mother’s, Azar (reminder that her mother is Lebanese). 

Uma - Thalassa, the same as the royal family of Atlantica - technically her mother’s been barred from using it but Ursula does not care. 

Harry - Probably still Hook. I’ve heard weirder surnames. 

Gil - Honestly, it’s probably Gaston? It’s rather heavily implied in the original movie that Gaston is his surname that he’s adopted as his nickname (See: The Bimbettes call him ‘Monsieur Gaston’ and Belle says she’d become ‘Madame Gaston’ if they married). In which case he’s literally named his kids “Gaston Gaston” - thank goodness for Gil scraping away from that. 

Dizzy - Tremaine. 

Zevon - Atoc. It means ‘fox’ - his mother thinks it’s fitting.

Freddie - Still Facilier.

Lonnie - Still Li. 

Ben - Bonhomme, from Bon Homme, meaning Good man. Yes, I’m blatant. 

Audrey - Victore or something similar. 

Doug - Harlow, derived from an Old English name meaning Rock. 

Chad - Fitzroy, meaning ‘son of the king’ in Anglo-Norman French.

Jane - Collingwood, because fairies often live in woods. 

Ally - Beasly, the kind of surname her mom would like because it’s kinda out there. 

Jordan - Jordan ibnat Genie Kader. Kader means ‘powerful’ according to what I was reading. 

If I’ve messed up any naming conventions, please let me know! I’m always willing to fix them.
