The Glass Ghost pt 2

The moment Danny knew for sure that he was completely inside, he collapsed to the floor, too tired too keep up his transformation. Cold, white tile bit into his palms as he sat there for a moment, panting heavily.

He would have to leave, and soon. That mob was still chasing him, he was sure of it, and he didn’t want whoever it was that lived or worked here to find him.

“Excuse me, but who are you?”

“Holy-“ Danny whipped his head around.

There, standing maybe ten feet away, was a tall, well dressed man with. He wore a white dress shirt underneath a dark reddish-brown vest with gold buttons. His hair was a light brown, and he had dark sideburns. But what drew Danny’s attention was the man’s eyes.

They were a dark red, the color of wine. (The color of blood, oh God it was everywhere-) And despite the kind smile and friendly demeanor, those eyes put Danny on edge. (For a moment it was Vlad standing there, and the kind smile turned into a cruel grin.)

Danny shook his head. He still hadn’t said anything. It would be suspicious if he didn’t answer, and there was no way in hell he was gonna spend three more hours running from yet another mob.

“Sorry. Uhm, my name is, uh, Danny. Danny Fenton.” He winced. Nice stutter there, Danny. Now he’s probably even more suspicious.

To his great suprise, the man gave a small laugh. Just who the hell was he? Did he see him come in-

“You were looking for a place to escape the mob, correct?” Danny froze. He’d totally seen him. He knew what he was, oh ancients, he was going to have to run from another mob-

“I don’t blame you for running they can be rather... violent, but I do ask that you knock next time... Danny, was it?”

What.

He... wasn’t calling the mob back? Just who was this guy.

Danny nodded, still on edge. Perhaps he didn’t see him fly through the wall-

“I understand that phasing through things may be easier, but I do believe knocking would be recieved better by most people.”

Oh, shit.

Okay so I had a real wack idea and that is: Jekyll and Hyde but in Danny Phantom AU. Basically it would be like an episode where Dr. Henry Jekyll becomes a new teacher at Casper High and right after he arrives a new ghostly menace (Hyde) shows up to terrorize Amity Park. I’ll put more info under this if you’re interested in my ramblings.

Okay so basically, when Henry Jekyll was in college he got in an accident that involved a homemade/really shitty ghost portal that he and (Hastie? Robert? Maybe something else?) Lanyon built. Lanyon and him had a fight over it and after Lanyon leaves the room to calm down Jekyll says “fuck it yolo” and decides to start up the machine himself. It blows up in his face giving him a scar on his right cheek and turns him into a half ghost. His halfa form appears younger than Henry and seems to have a bit of a mind of its own (due to the shoddy construction of the ghost portal). He calls himself Hyde because his first instinct was “HIDE” when security, medical personnel, and other assorted people on campus run to the wrecked lab. The name Edward comes later mostly as a personal “Ooo I like that name” kinda thing (if anyone has a better idea for this please share because im a dummy and can’t think of anything). Jekyll comes back and since he has the scar on his face Lanyon thinks he caused the explosion on purpose and whoop there goes their friendship. They end up both getting the blame but it’s less of a “you tried to blow up the school” thing and more of a “you really fucked up on your experiment and must have really miscalculated” thing. The school has their families pay for most of the damages (which is a-okay because they both come from wealthy families) and it just ends up becoming sort of an on campus joke.

Years go by and Hyde ends up getting more and more of his own personality. At first he was almost completely influenced by Jekyll but now it’s become more like Hyde is a separate ghost possessing Jekyll. This becomes a problem when, as Jekyll is working in his lab, Hyde decides he’s bored and takes over. Jekyll ends up developing a chemical to control the transformations (HJ7) and put him back in charge of the situation. It works for a while but then Henry starts seeming black out for times, and what he hears about his actions as he’s blacked out makes him realize that Hyde is taking control/possessing his human form (basically green eyed Jekyll type scenario). This freaks Henry out, so he decides he’s going to find professional help. Low and behold, Amity Park, the town where some of the most famous ghost hunters live in, has a job opening for a new chemistry teacher at the local high school. Jekyll easily gets the job and starts working immediately.

Henry soon becomes the teacher everyone either totally loves or totally hates. He’s very passionate about chemistry but knows a lot about other scientific fields and will talk to students about their favorite studies. Because of his passion for chemistry though, he grades very harshly and does not tolerate disruptions such as talking during lectures and arriving tardy (without a good excuse). This is what causes the great divide on the students opinions of him. Everyone stands on one side or the other. Everyone except Danny Fenton. Danny is the child of scientists, the local ghost hunters Jack and Maddie Fenton, and is very passionate about astronomy and wants to work for NASA when he grows up. The problem is he’s always either missing, tardy to, or sleeping in class. He also doesn’t really seem to grasp the material. Dr. Jekyll is torn because he can tell that Danny loves science and he has had really great conversations with him about astronomy but he’s just upset at how Danny is in his class. He ends up deciding that he will take the boy under his wing and tutor him to help him pass. This will also get him closer to Danny’s parents who he thinks can help him with his Hyde problem.

Danny goes after school for tutoring (surprisingly there were no rogue ghosts attacking today) and waits for Dr. Jekyll to show up. And waits. And waits. Then his ghost sense goes off and he just can’t wait anymore. Danny grabs his bag and runs into down the hall to the boys room where, with a quick “I’m going ghost!” he’s off to fight the ghostly menace of the day. When he spots the spirit, he sees this is one that he’s never fought before. He’s tall and quite lean with bluish skin, venomous green eyes, green hair pulled into a flaming ponytail, and a nasty scar across the right side of his face. The ghost takes notice that Danny’s there and a fight ensues. And then it ends when Danny gets yeeted through a wall and the ghost disappears. At least Danny was able to pick up that the new ghost’s name is Edward Hyde during the fight. He goes home to work on his homework go to sleep. He just crashes right into bed and sleeps till the next day.

When he gets to school, Dr. Jekyll comes up to him and apologizes that he couldn’t make it to the tutoring session and that an emergency had come up that he had to attend to. Danny was like no biggie and continued on with the day. He talked with Sam and Tucker about this new ghost. They go over where he may have come from, if he’s working for Vlad, and all the other possibilities including that it could be that Dr. Jekyll may be a halfa like Danny and Vlad, but that got brushed off as wrong (”That ghost did not seem like the kind of guy who’d have a PHD. He’s a MR. Hyde at best, not a Dr. like Jekyll”). The school day ends and Danny’s off to learn the ways of chemistry. This time Dr. Jekyll is there and the lesson goes according to plan. At least right up until Danny’s lesson is about over. When the topic of talking to Danny’s parents about his tutoring (and the possibility of them helping out with Jekyll’s halfa problem) is brought up, all of a sudden a change comes over the good doctor. He starts saying nasty things and acting like real bitch. That’s when Danny notices that Dr. Jekyll’s eyes are a vibrant shade of green. Seeing this as a sign that Jekyll has been possessed (hopefully by that Edward Hyde ghost from yesterday, Danny wants a round two with him) Danny goes ghost (because it’s not like Dr. Jekyll will remember anyway he’s possessed.

This freaks the shit out of Hyde because a. he thought he was the only halfa there was b. holy shit this little scrawny kid is that ghost that nearly kicked his ass yesterday c. he thinks he’s been found out and d. holy shit this little scrawny kid is that ghost that nearly kicked his ass yesterday. Since he’s so freaked out, he slips a little and Jekyll comes to for just long enough to be punched in the face by the kid he thought would be his favorite student. This “little” punch shakes up Jekyll but acts as a snap back to reality for Hyde who makes them go ghost. When Danny sees the rings go around Dr. Jekyll turning him into Edward Hyde, he realizes he fucked up. A fight ensues which ends with an agreement between the two (three???). Basically Danny will leave them alone and not tell his parents as long as a. Hyde doesn’t forcibly take over Jekyll and when he’s out he doesn’t cause problems and b. Jekyll doesn’t try to destroy Hyde.

(when Danny tells Sam and Tucker about all this Tucker yells “HAH! I told you!”)

I think Hyde still gets up to mischief but he’s not a real villain just more of a pest. The real villain is Jekyll who goes to Vlad Masters for a side job (cause teaching don’t pay nearly enough as it should) where he ends up helping to develop ghost weapons. I’d actually see him being able to get close enough to Vlad that he learns a lot of his little secrets, just not the one about Vlad being a halfa. (I think Jekyll might be brought in to help with cloning Danny.)

And that’s pretty much all I got. I might make a fic if anyone wants it but there’s no real guarantee on the quality since I haven’t taken a creative writing class in over 4 years.

A few DP what-ifs

-What if Danny and Phantom were more like Jekyll & Hyde, only not evil?

-What if Danny was human during the day, and turned into his ghost form at night (preferably no longer needing sleep in either form)?

-What if Danny became half demon instead of half ghost?

-What if Danny became half angel instead of half ghost?

-What if Vlad‘s (and/or Danny’s) powers were not the result of a portal accident?

First @magicalmonsterhero thanks for the questions! Sorry it took so long to respond. I kept forgetting to answer. 😅 A bunch of really cool aus here!!

1) Jekyll and Hyde but not evil

So I'm guessing this goes with the more pop culture interpretation where the two different personas have different personalities and don't remember what happens to or doesn't even know about their counterpart. Not the book version where Mr. Hyde is basically a disguise that lets Dr. Jekyll do whatever unsavory thing he wants to.

This idea sounds a lot like Lapse by @murphy-kitt or even The Goth and the Ghost by TheCinderNinja. The core things in common with both those stories is Danny (Fenton) has no memory when he transforms and doesn't know that he's Phantom. I'm a big fan, as someone who loves split Danny, which this basically is, except the split's mental, not physical.

As for what I'd do in an au like that... first, turn up the angst! There'd be the memory loss, the mysterious injuries, the mystery. Poor Fenton would be at his wit's end. Phantom as well, but with the added angst of figuring out who exactly he is and where he came from. I'd want one of Danny's loved ones to figure out what's happening and try to get him to believe them. Except, Fenton wouldn't. Even if he did then he'd be terrified of being a ghost or think he's possessed. Phantom might be more understanding and relieved. He's actually partly alive at least and he knows who he is but why can't he remember what happens in his other form? From there, it turns into an odd version of two people sharing a body, except there's really only one person who has to figure out how to be one person again. I'd have Fenton and Phantom make videos and write letters to each other to communicate. Eventually, Fenton believes that this is really happening. He stops seeing the ghost as a monster and slowly accepts that he is Phantom. Meanwhile, Phantom had been hurt and angry over Fenton rejecting him. He'd also been afraid of hurting his human self or other people. There's that same fear that he's a monster but he accepts himself and forgives his other half.

Eventually, Fenton transforms on purpose. And... he remembers everything. He's not Fenton or Phantom. He's just Danny.

2) Human during the day, ghost at night.

Another cool au! Oh boy, just imagine the angst that first night, when he can't turn human. The poor boy would probably think he just died all the way. And the learning curve to figure out his day and night cycle... he'd have to figure it out and adjust really fast. His biggest problem in this au would be dealing with his parents, since he would never be at home at night unless he told them. And I guess, he wouldn't be able to use his powers in human form so hopefully the other ghosts only show up at night so that's not an issue. Either way, I think Jack and Maddie would find out a whole lot sooner in this au.

3) Half demon au

The first thing I thought about is Cole from Charmed and hoping that things end better for Danny that they did for him. No turning evil and eventually having to be killed by your loved ones please :( I'm not sure what kind of powers Danny would have. And... how is his half demon? Did one of his parents cheat? Did they make a deal with someone in exchange for knowledge on the paranormal? Is he adopted? I'm guess his powers would be activated in some kind of occult ritual gone wrong. Or...he could get fused with some demon. Oh boy, this could be a lot of ways.

4) Half angel au

Winged Danny! That makes me excited! I definitely like the idea of him being half angel better than half demon. I want light based powers and maybe Danny can heal people. He'd definitely be more likely to be viewed as a supernatural protector in Amity Park, here. I'm all for the town acknowledging and appreciating Danny!

5) Not an accident?

So this could go one of two ways. In the first, Vlad and Danny are natural born halfas. This would have a lot of really interesting world building. Maybe Danny is Vlad's son and he gets separated from him and adopted by the Fentons for some reason. Here, Danny would always know he wasn't entirely human. I'd have Jack and Maddie be loving and supportive parents. They don't know where his powers came from. Maybe there's legends about halfas but they hadn't thought that half ghosts really existed before Danny. Maybe, Jack and Maddie think he's the last of these mythical people and they're building to portal to try and find out where he'd come from.

The second way is, Vlad and/or Danny are half ghosts because of intentional experimentation. Maybe Vlad experimented on himself on purpose. Or his accident did happen but he kidnapped and made Danny half ghost as revenge. Or maybe Danny was created by the GIW. So much angst potential! 😈

But the happy version of Danny being an intentional experiment... I actually thought about writing this for Invisobang but decided to go with something else, since this would be a really long story. More under cut

So basically, when Jack and Maddie are young scientists, they contracted by the GIW for a project. Jazz is a toddler and money is tight. There's medical bills after Maddie and Jazz both almost died in child birth. They're literally days away from losing the house. The GIW shows up out of the blue with an ungodly amount of money, if they'll accept the project, no questions asked. The agents say, the last scientists backed out last minute and they need the couple to fill in or years of research and millions of dollars will be wasted. It's research that will change the world! A giant leap forward in understanding ghosts and in human health. Jack and Maddie are unsure but they manage to get a little information; this is research on the hybridization of ectoplasm with primates. The couple accept, desperate for the money and naive with dreams to change the world.

They sigh NDAs and accept the project. Late at night, the agents bring in the equipment and a huge artificial womb. Jack and Maddie are to take care of the specimen and ensure it survives until it's viable outside of the incubator. Both scientists are instantly filled with unease. The fetus in the incubator looks...strangely familiar. But...they did say primate research so it must be some kind of monkey. Jack and Maddie do their jobs, checking the vitals, the nutrients, the ectoplasm levels. They watch. And Jack and Maddie start getting attached. They're invested. Maddie will talk to the tank. Jack plays music and rambles. But dread grows. By the time the specimen is at 3 and half months gestation, it's obviously-

No. It can't be... it's obviously a rhesues monkey or a chimpanzee. Not-Maddie pushes the thoughts away but at the same time...

Maddie starts having dreams. About a little boy with black hair and blue eyes. Sometimes he has white hair and green eyes. His name is Danny and he calls her mommy. Maddie loves him so much and.... it hurts to wake up, knowing that that will never happen. After almost dying giving birth to Jazz, she physically can't get pregnant again. She can't have a little boy of her own flesh and blood. She and Jack had wanted two kids. They'd talked about adoption but with everything happening in their lives....

The scientist pushes that pain away, faced with some thing else. As the weeks pass, the fetus grows and the form is much more obvious. The dread and fear grow, with the attachment. And... Maddie and Jack research fetal development. They compare, getting their hands on every textbook and article she can get their hands on. And....

After all that searching, finally looking at the fetus again, the sickening realization hits them. The GIW said primate research. They didn't specify non-human primate. The specimen isn't a chimpanzee or rhesus monkey. It's...it's a human fetus. It's a human-ghost hybrid growing in their lab.

Maddie feels disgusted with herself. She should have seen this earlier, with the secrecy, the evasive questions, the NDAs. There's rationalization. It's part ghost but... it's part human too. And experimenting on humans is wrong. It is wrong! An abomination against nature. You don't experiment on human beings But...it's just a fetus. Now. for now it's just a fetus. But... it will grow. And months from now, they'll be a baby and-

There's a lot of crying and screaming at the revelations. Jack and Maddie calm down enough to discuss. And-

"We need to pull out. We can't be a part of this." Jack argues.

"They'll just give the project to someone else." Maddie argues.

"So what?! We do nothing! I can't... I won't keep doing this."

"I know!" Tears. "We can't.... we can't.... just give him...it to some other scientists."

Maddie can't help remembering when she'd been four and a half months pregnant with Jazz. That's when they'd gotten a sonogram and figured out they were having a little girl. She remembers Jazz as a new born and she imagines a baby boy, crying on their lab tables. A baby boy, poked and prodded by needles. In cages. Experimented on. A human lab rat.

"That...that wouldn't be a life for anyone. Not...not even something that's half ghost." Maddie chokes on the words.

"We could...." Jack's voice is so quiet, so pained. "We could make sure it doesn't...survive long enough for that."

Maddie looks up, heart aching. The man's meaning is absolutely clear. And she hates them.

"We can stage... an accident. Tell the GIW the subject unfortunately didn't survive."

Maddie hates it. She hates it so much. But if they don't, they have to keep going and face the product of their science. "They'll just try again." She says.

"But not with us." Jack's face is hard and she knows he's right. The GIW wouldn't involve them again. They'd get someone else and she and Jack wouldn't have to be a part of this. But-

"Okay. We'll...we'll do it." Maddie abhors herself for saying the words.

They plan. They'll cut the power to the incubator. All it will take in a few minutes and the fetus will die. They'll lie, make up a story about the backup generator failing and...

They go down to the lab. Maddie grabs the plug to end this and.... she looks one last time. (And she can't help but remember Jazz's sonogram pictures. The feeling of her little kicks). Just formed eyes drift open and.... they're blue. A spark of ectoplasm flashes. They're green and...

"I can't... I can't do it." Maddie falls to her knees, weeping. "Jack. We...we can't."

Her husband tries to take the plugs, to do it for her but....

"No! We can't...we can't kill him!"

Maddie confesses. She'd been dreaming for weeks about a little boy with blue and green eyes. A little boy named Danny.

"Madds, I don't get what you're saying."

Maddie doesn't either. This is ridiculous. But she can't let the fetus die. No, the baby. The little boy. She can't kill him. She won't.

Jack and Maddie argue. They can't just so nothing. They can't abandon the project. Maddie won't abandon the baby. And Jack admits... he feels the same. He didn't want to turn off that incubator. If there was a way to save the boy, to keep him from getting taken and experimented on as soon as he was ready...

"I wish...I wish he was just a normal baby." The man laments.

Maddie blinks. "What if....the GIW thinks he is?"

Jack's eyes widen at the words. "What do you mean?"

"What if...they think he's just a normal human?"

The couple discuss. They'll make the GIW think the project failed. Through a combination of falsifying data and intentional sabotage, they'll make sure the baby appears to be a completely normal human when he's done.

Jack and Maddie follow their plan. They're tense and scared. What if it doesn't work? And what if it does? What if the GIW realize what they are doing? They are careful, so careful. They stage a malfunction with the ectoplasm circulation in the tube. They play at fixing it. But the spectral energy in the fetus is already falling. It drops down to zero. The GIW learn and they are pissed. Jack and Maddie play at being apologetic. They take a massive pay reduction without complaint.

A last few months pass, the baby (Danny) grows and grows. And Jack and Maddie claim to be trying to reintroduce the ectoplasm but it won't take. The fetus is rejecting it.

The day arrives and the GIW agents and scientists are there when Jack takes the boy out of the incubator. Danny cries and Maddie has never had more struggle to act cold and professional in her whole life. The agents check and verify. The specimen is in fact completely free of ectoplasmic contamination. Completely human. A monumental waste of time and money.

The agents turn their noses up, debating what to do. They wants to get rid of the evidence....

On the inside, Maddie is panicking but on the outside, the becomes the perfect image of a cold scientist. "This is an extraordinary opportunity." She argues. "This level of fetal ectoplasm expose is unheard of." They need to collect this data, to see the long term effects of expose on the human body. And what better subject? And they need scientist to careful monitor the experiment. Can't just give the subject to anyone.

Jack and Maddie are never more relieved when the GIW assign them as the caretakers. They arrange for a birth certificate to be assigned; another measure to cover up the highly illegal experiment. Jack and Maddie will say nothing and they will be paid for their services.

When the GIW finally takes their equipment and leaves, Jack and Maddie finally cry with relief. Maddie can finally hold her son, her Danny. And he is their son. Not their flesh and blood but they did the seemingly impossible to save him from an agonizing fate as an experiment, as a lab rat. And they'll do whatever they have to to keep it that way, to keep their boy safe.

They introduce Jazz to her baby brother. And they watch Danny grow into that little black haired boy that Maddie dreamed about. And he's surprisingly normal, completely human. Jack and Maddie don't tell him the truth, don't even tell him he's adopted. And they're all so happy. Danny is happy and normal, a bright boy who loves life.

Years pass and Jack and Maddie keep working on their ghost research and raising their kids. Jazz is 16 and Danny is 14 when they successfully open their ghost portals and ghosts start invading the town. But still, Jack and Maddie are happy. They can almost forget where Danny came from.

Until when the mayor's kidnapped, Maddie sees Phantom face to face for the first time.

(He's a good and supportive teacher. He cares a lot about his students. If they needed a pep talk, I'm sure he'd give a good one.)

Jack and Vlad: "Lily's Eyes" from The Secret Garden

(I have a whole AU centered around this. But, the gist is that this song gives off vibes. I think it fits their relationship/dynamic.)

Jack and Maddie: "A Small Umbrella in the Rain" from Little Women

(They really are quite different, but they're deeply in love the whole time. They work through all their differences. It's sweet.)

Harley never planned to do theater. Sure, he could sing in the shower and was good at presentations in class, but going in front of his peers and performing? That wasn’t a goal of his.

Then, enter Peter Parker: school photographer for the theater department, in charge of being at the rehearsals to get candids and show pictures.

Harley is obviously smitten, and decided to join the spring musical, figuring he would be an ensemble member

BUT he ends up getting the lead role, and he gets even more time with Peter because there are rehearsals where it’s just him and Peter

Harley is expert at memorization, and has no trouble with remembering lines, but he struggles with stage presence and confidence in his performance

Peter suggests that he tries to perform just in front of him and invites him over to rehearse

Peter does things to distract him while he’s singing and acting to get used to the distractions and to make him smile

Harley gets much better and more comfortable

Peter realizes he’s falling for Harley when he realizes that he is jealous of his leading lady

now some self insert of what roles i think harley would get if he were in the shows i’ve been in and why

Shrek: Imagine him as Farquaad. On his knees with the knee pads and the cape and the wig and the songs??? Yes???

Tarzan: Probably Turk. Idk.

The Little Mermaid: He’d probably be Scuttle or Louis. Idk there’s not a lot of good male roles in TLM.

Jekyll and Hyde: This one would undeniably be Dr. Jekyll. In our production, there were separate actors for Jekyll and Hyde, and Harley has that charming scientist vibes, you feel?

Alice in Wonderland: Mad Hatter. Hands down, Mad Hatter. He probably would’ve auditioned for the White Knight and gotten this instead because he would be challenged by the character.

Willy Wonka: I’d love to see him as Augustus Gloop because A. German accent, B. fat suit, and C. “I Eat More.”

Grease: I wish I could say Danny, but imagine him as Roger. The sassier yet gruffy greaser who has the ridiculous “Mooning” song? Hell yeah.

Nevermore!: If you’re unfamiliar with this show, it’s based off of Edgar Allan Poe stories. I think that he would be a good Prince Prospero. It’s such an ostentatious character with such a fun scene, idk, it’d be great

Hello, Dolly!: Obviously he would be Barnaby Tucker. Obviously. It’s the most fun male role and he would ham it up.

The Wedding Singer: I’m really torn between Sammy and George. On one hand, there’s Sammy, the asshole ex-boyfriend who won’t stop hitting on his ex but also has the best songs and funny scenes, but also GEORGE. Like epitome of over-the-top gay with, rather than Note From Linda, has the funniest song of the entire show during the Bat Mitzvah scene? Idk man.

Pride and Prejudice: Mr. Bennett. Duh.

Mamma Mia: Probably Bill because he’s the goofiest of them all and I imagine Harley as a really good comedic actor

Sweeney Todd: Okay, on one hand I think Sweeney would be epic for Harley, but as someone who played Adolpho Pirelli, I’ve gotta say that I would want to see him as Pirelli. A six minute song about bragging about skill he doesn’t have? Getting his throat slit and being stuffed into a chest? Italian AND Irish accent? Yes please.

19- do you have any other conditions?

BPD w/ psychosis, C-PTSD, OSDD, possible ADHD, possible bipolar, depression, anxiety (maybe?? I get paranoid and I feel anxious frequently but tbh it feels like assigned social workers just tack this on sometimes). I've talked to therapists about all of these but I only have a legal paper DX for the last 2 + "anger issues and difficulty adjusting to change" AKA early misidentified autism/PTSD combo symptoms that needed vague phrasing for my IEP to work at school (an IEP is an Individualized Education Program, it outlines legal protections & accommodations for special ed kids) Also used to be a huge maladaptive daydreamer but not so much anymore.

Whaaaat? Two posts? In one day? Amazing!

Truth is, I’ve started to reread The Glass Scientists again, and I’ve renewed my interest in Danny Phantom, and these two happened to coincide, so I’m doing more this au again! Yay!

So here are some Glass Ghost things!

My first big reason for this au is due to the rather startling amount of similarities between Danny and Henry Jekyll. For starters, there’s the fact that both of them have an alter ego of sorts: Danny has Phantom, and Jekyll has Hyde. Both Danny and Jekyll are unable to tell anyone of these alter egos for fear of judgement and being hated for their alter ego. Both were also created in a lab, and the best part in my humble opinion: both of them have, in a way, had their souls split in two. One along the line of good and evil: the other, the line between the living and the dead.

And then, there’s the fact that both are interested in science: Henry loves chemistry, Danny loves astronomy. Of course, if Danny where to go to the Society, he would lose his shit over Nicholas D. Bryson ( I imagine that, upon first meeting him, Danny mistakes Dr. Bryson for Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and has essentially the same reaction as Jasper times ten.)

And then, my FAVORITE part of this au: Danny being able to see Hyde. Not when Hyde is in control: when he’s not-so-invisibly taunting poor Henry Jekyll. And Danny, who at that point has had to deal with Spectra’s bullshit for almost a year at that point, putting up with about none of that shit. (Followed by Jekyll almost having a panic attack because how can Danny see Hyde, does this mean he knows??? Oh God he must hate him now goddammit. This train of thought immediately gets shut down by Danny, who knows all too well about the type of shit having an evil version of yourself can do to your mental state.)

Die Wunschliste

Vor 2 1/2 Jahren hab ich ein neues Projekt begonnen - das Wunschprojekt. Dafür habe ich Wünsche gesammelt und sie nach und nach geschrieben. Jetzt, wo der 100.
