okay not to come of as a hater for a second but i'm thinking about this again and kind of want to get the thought out...
is it just me or is the way people discuss pilots online a little... odd? don't get me wrong, it's honestly really cool to see people get so hyped up and invested in something based on the pilot alone, but from how some people discuss them it belies a bit of a misunderstand of what a pilot is supposed to be and do.
a pilot is a proof of concept for something, not the finished product. this is most evident with pilots produced the traditional route, where the final series may be wildly different from the initial pitch (the first one that comes to mind is the gravity falls pilot, although it's still pretty similar to what we did end up getting).
so it's... i'm a little concerned for the inevitable fallout when a popular pilot becomes a series that's different from it's initial pitch, i suppose

“My first racing idols is my cousin Jonny. He’s a year older than me, so we grew up karting together. When he moved on to F4 and F3, I’ve watched him the whole way through his career, so that’s why I look up to him. We go out in KZ karts together sometimes. We’re not allowed to race just in case we crash into each other! I would like to race against him, but then I would feel bad if maybe I crashed into him or something.”

This is undeniably braggy so don’t think that I don’t know that lol but…. Leo already knows most letters and can give examples of words starting with them?? He asks to play with his mega blocks but some of them have letters on them so what he actually means is not that he wants to build anything but that he wants me to test him on his letters. He’ll hold one up and go “oh, what letter is it??” so that I then repeat the question and he can answer. And then I’ll be like “yeah, letter A! A is for…” and while I’m still thinking of something he’ll go “apple!”. He can also count to like, thirty. Everyone thinks their kid is a genius, I know, but...
I was saying to my mum yesterday I’m like, should I try and actually properly teach him the alphabet?? And I was kinda joking but then this morning (when he asked to do letters) I got out some paper and got him to find the block with each letter on it and then I wrote it down, which felt weirdly like I was forcing a school-type situation on him but he loved it and did the full alphabet and wants to do it again?? I probably sound unbearable I know but what is this child going to do in his first year of school because I feel like he can already do most of it at age 2 and a half

Joe Root’s Heartfelt Message to Jonny Bairstow on His 100th Test Match
I hope you're doing well. Today, I want to share a touching moment from the cricket world that really warmed my heart. It's about the special bond between Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow, two longtime friends who share a love for cricket that spans back to their childhood days.
Imagine this: Day 1 of the fifth Test match at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala. Jonny Bairstow is about to play his 100th Test match for England, a monumental milestone for any cricketer. But what makes this moment even more special is that Joe Root, his childhood friend, is there to present him with his 100th Test cap.
As Root hands over the cap to Bairstow, he shares heartfelt words that resonate with everyone present. "Your dad is shining down on you, beaming with pride and a huge smile on his face," Root says, acknowledging the memory of Bairstow's late father.
Root and Bairstow go way back, having known each other since they were just 12 years old. Root reminisces about their days in the Yorkshire academy, where Bairstow's talent was evident to everyone. But Root also recognizes the challenges Bairstow has faced on his journey to 100 Test matches – the roadblocks, the uncertainties about his role in the team, and the personal struggles he's overcome.
Despite the ups and downs, Bairstow's dedication to playing for England shines through. Root highlights Bairstow's numerous achievements on the field, both with the bat and behind the stumps. And amidst the celebration, Root reminds Bairstow to stay true to himself, to relax, and to enjoy the moment.
Bairstow's innings may have been brief in that match, but his contribution to English cricket is undeniable. And as he walks out onto the field for his 100th Test match, surrounded by the support of his teammates and the memory of his father, it's a moment to cherish for cricket fans everywhere.
Here's to Jonny Bairstow – a true cricketing hero, and to the enduring friendship between him and Joe Root.
