My Old School    [trailer]
In 1993, 16-year-old Brandon Lee enrolled at Bearsden Academy, a secondary school in a well-to-do suburb of Glasgow, Scotland. What followed over the next two years became the stuff of legend.
Interesting story. But it's hard to justify making a way too long documentary about this lying imposter. Just search for the story online.
I also didn't like its format, the animated sequences with the snippets of recollections of former classmates. I'm not even sure if the shown classmates were real or if they were all actors like Cumming.

No one can accuse Alan Cumming of being predictable. Initially, the Scottish actor found his footing in cabaret — both the theater show, and the actual form of nightclub-style theater. And yes, Hollywood caught on after he appeared in a trio of high-profile films in the mid-1990s (that would be Eyes Wide Shut, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, and GoldenEye).

My Old School. Quick Review. (FULL SPOILERS)
I think some of the reviews and acclaim since this opened in Scotland have been a little bit hyperbolic. That said it is still good and well worth your time.
This documentary has been building a lot of buzz in the Scottish independent cinema scene since it debuted. The kind of stranger than fiction piece, that’s the bread and butter of people who watch these things for the insane twists and turns. On that level, My Old School is a solid entry into this genre but perhaps Has been done no favours by getting a major theatrical push. It’s a BBC Scotland…
