Ted Mack of the TV show The Original Amateur Hour presents the gold trophy to 8-year old Gladys Knight, July 1, 1952. Gladys, who previously sang in her church choir, was voted the winner of three nationwide broadcasts. Later that year, she and her siblings and cousins began performing professionally as Gladys Knight and the Pips.

This dress, executed in gray-blue voile, is trimmed at the bottom with rich embroidery. partly rising halfway up the skirt; it is mounted on a very low down yoke and embellished with embroidery. We hide the junction under a drapery crossed in front. The yoke is open on an embroidered cambric skirt, enhanced with Valenciennes; the skirt is closed with a cord passed through scalloped buttonholes.

Thorn Bug (Umbonia spinosa)

Habitat- Central America; South America; Florida

Size (Weight/Length)- 12 mm

Diet- Plant sap

Cool Facts- The Umbonia spinosa is a specific species of thorn bug known for their ability to blend into their surroundings. An elongated dorsal horn between their shoulders acts both as the ultimate defense and camouflage. Mass gatherings of thorn bugs can turn a plant prickly with their bodies alone. When overwintering, they can gather in such mass that they bend the branches of Persian silk trees. During the mating season, females bore small holes into their tree of choice. After mating, the thorn bug lays her eggs in the tree and peaces out. In certain cultures, juvenile thorn bugs are considered a delicacy while their shells are still soft.

The DVD contains two video recordings of live performances: their Mexico City performance on October 7, 2007 and their New Jersey performance on October 24, 2007. The latter contains the only professionally recorded performance of their unreleased song "Someone Out There Loves You". The CD consists of live audio recordings from the October 7, Mexico City performance, alongside several studio recorded tracks. (🖤)
