Day 19/100.
On today's walk.
Back to the kitchen cupboard project.
Woo, it feels like Christmas! What's inside??
More plates.
This flat plate goes with the Hansel & Gretel bowl. Little Red Riding Hood. I loved this plate set so much when I was little.
A hand-painted decorative wall plate in the Hungarian Kalocsa style (Kalocsai).
This bowl. It's large and wide and relatively shallow.
I used to use it for this really yummy black bean-corn-cilantro-lime juice summer salad. It also came in handy for holding half a watermelon. I haven't used it in at least 10 years. Time to let it go?
This plastic container. What's in it??
Nothing!? What was it up there for?? Lol.
At least it's clean. No nasty surprises.

Day 18/100.
So back to the large bag of brown rice I have and the smaller container I have of it in the pantry: I realized I never make it because I'm always in too much of a rush to bother taking the large bag down off the top of the cupboard to read the cooking instructions.
So there's an obstacle to using up this rice. The solution is simple: keep the cooking instructions with the small container.
Done.
Next!
More rice. Lol. White rice.
There was just a bit left in the bag, I was able to fill up a smaller container in the pantry and throw the bag out. Yay!
These easels I bought at Dollarama once when I happened to come across them.
I bought them for displaying decorative plates. Obviously I haven't gotten around to using them yet.
Aww... These plates from my grandma's house!
The one on the left was my special soup bowl. The one on the right was a decorative plate that hung on the wall above the kitchen table.
I ate many a bowl of homemade soup from this bowl.
I remember always wanting to get to the bottom of the bowl so I could see the picture of Hansel & Gretel in front of the gingerbread house.
As for this plate, there were two of them. I can't remember if my sister and I took one each or if we decided not to separate them.
The backs.
The Hansel & Gretel one says Kahla, Made in GDR (I believe that stands for German Democratic Republic, aka East Germany). Yep, this plate would have been made long before the fall of the Berlin Wall. I was eating grandma's chicken noodle soup out of it circa 1977 (the Berlin Wall fell in 1989 and the GDR ceased to exist in 1990).
And look what I had wrapped them in! Lol.
