Nomadic souls of Kashmir
I’m Kashmiri, recently I met a man who also was Kashmiri. In conversations I must advise talking to any Kashmiri turns into the most depressing conversation ever. I stood chatting with this man who was accompanied by a friend only to find our paths similar, those Kashmiris that leave their land usually don’t really belong anywhere in the world. We all 3 had this in common as we now live in different provinces and none of us had visited due to border issues and restrictions. Kashmiris usually are a nomadic people, my grandfather was born in Srinagar who’s great grandfather travelled there from Uzbekistan who’s grandfather was a Mongol. Now we were spread again lower to other areas but this time not by choice not by any of our choices and I think that’s what separated us from our forefathers ambitions.
They left to start a new better life and we left to run from a war we didn’t even start.

THE EASY PATH OF VAST MERIT ...
Taking and giving practice is very effective when you meet with difficulties. When you suffer from physical sickness, loss, or mental anguish, losing hope or becoming depressed doesn't help at all.
But if you can practice taking at such times, then your suffering becomes a causal factor for progressing on the path and creating vast merit. While you are suffering, empathize with similar sufferings undergone by others.
Pray that by your suffering you can take away the sufferings of all those others, totally freeing them from suffering and its causes.
In this way your undergoing suffering becomes meaningful, helping you to practice the path to enlightenment. Even when you are tormented by intense negative emotions like desire, hatred, ignorance, jealousy, and pride, transform the experience through the practice of taking.
For example, if you see something very beautiful and then are tormented by desire, you can practice compassion by thinking of the limitless other beings who suffer from craving, addictions, and attachments. Visualize taking their suffering and the causes of those suffering upon
As Kashmiri Pandita said, when you suffer, visualize taking on others' sufferings as well and pray to "dry up the ocean of sorrows." When you meet with positive conditions and happiness, you can also visualize giving your happiness and its causes to others. When you eat delicious food, instead of generating more craving, you can reflect on how this enjoyment has arisen due to the kindness of enlightened beings and sentient beings. Visualize sharing the pleasurable experience with all sentient beings. You can also pray that all beings may experience the taste of the uncontaminated nectar of liberating wisdom.
You can also integrate the practice of taking and giving with your breath. With each in-breath, you take on the sufferings of all sentient beings, and with each out-breath you give happiness and its causes to all others.
A verse from the Guru Puja summarizes this integration with the breath:
"Bless me to cultivate bodhichitta through love, compassion, and the exceptional attitude conjoined with the wondrous method of mounting taking and giving upon the breath in orentorsams all wanderers from the vast
It's also very good to memorize and recite verses in your daily life to inspire you in taking and giving practice. You can memorize the lines above from "Easy Path" or other verses quoted above for this purpose.
The following verse from the Guru Puja is very powerful:
ind t sek your pessings that alarmic
debts, obstacles, and sufferings of mother sentient beings may without exception ripen on me right now and that I may give my happiness and virtue to others and thereby install all beings in bliss."

The Golden Spice of Paradise: Exploring the Kashmiri Kesar
Tumblr media
Introduction
Nestled in the northernmost part of India, the beautiful region of Kashmir is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, exquisite craftsmanship, and a culinary heritage that boasts a rich tapestry of flavors. Among its many treasures, one stands out - the Kashmiri Kesar, also known as saffron. This crimson-hued spice is not only an integral part of Kashmir's culture and cuisine but also holds a special place in the hearts of connoisseurs worldwide.
The Kashmiri Kesar: A Glimpse into its Origin
Kashmiri Kesar, also referred to as "red gold," is harvested from the delicate threads of the saffron crocus flower (Crocus sativus). This precious spice has been cultivated in the Kashmir Valley for centuries, with its origins tracing back to the Persian influence in the region during the 6th century. The unique geographical conditions of Kashmir, including its high altitudes and fertile soil, create the ideal environment for saffron cultivation.
The Harvesting Process
The cultivation of Kashmiri Kesar is a labor-intensive and time-consuming process. Each saffron crocus flower produces only three delicate crimson threads, which are hand-picked with utmost care. The harvest season typically falls between October and November, when the flowers bloom, and skilled farmers carefully pluck the stigmas, ensuring they preserve the spice's quality and flavor.
Culinary Delights with Kashmiri Kesar
Kashmiri Kesar imparts a distinctive aroma, flavor, and vivid color to various culinary creations. It is a key ingredient in many traditional Kashmiri dishes, such as Rogan Josh and Yakhni, and is also used in desserts like Phirni and Kesar Pista Kulfi. The spice's ability to elevate both savory and sweet dishes has made it a culinary treasure not only in the region but also globally.
Health Benefits of Kashmiri Kesar
Beyond its culinary allure, Kashmiri Kesar is cherished for its potential health benefits. It is believed to have antioxidant properties that can help combat oxidative stress, reduce inflammation, and promote overall well-being. Additionally, saffron is used in traditional medicine to alleviate ailments such as depression, anxiety, and menstrual discomfort.
Kashmiri Kesar in Art and Culture
The cultural significance of Kashmiri Kesar goes beyond the kitchen. It has found its way into the realm of art, literature, and even religious rituals. The vibrant color and exotic aroma of saffron have inspired artists, poets, and painters throughout history. It is also an essential part of many religious ceremonies and offerings in Kashmir.
Preserving the Legacy
Despite its illustrious history and cultural significance, the cultivation of Kashmiri Kesar faces challenges today. Climate change, changing agricultural practices, and competition from cheaper saffron varieties from other regions threaten the authenticity and quality of this precious spice. However, dedicated farmers and government initiatives are working tirelessly to ensure the preservation of Kashmir's saffron legacy.
In Conclusion
Kashmiri Kesar is more than just a spice; it's a symbol of Kashmir's rich heritage, a testament to the region's unique terroir, and a culinary gem cherished by people worldwide. As we savor its exquisite flavor, let us also appreciate the hard work and dedication of the Kashmiri farmers who have nurtured this "red gold" for generations. So, the next time you savor a dish infused with the essence of Kashmiri Kesar, remember that you are indulging in a piece of paradise itself, captured in a single crimson thread.

Buy 1 gm pure kashmiri kesar (Saffron) online at best price
Saffron, also called the "red gold spice," is easily found in almost every Indian kitchen. From adding flavour to your favourite biryani to giving colour to your sweet dishes like kheer, saffron (kesar) has been in use for time immemorial. But do you know? Saffron has amazing medicinal properties that offer incredible health benefits to pregnant women. Curious to know its health benefits? Read on to learn more!
Pregnant women often have a slower metabolism, which causes their digestive system to slow down. According to studies, saffron consumed during pregnancy plays an essential role in the treatment of numerous digestive system diseases. Saffron has been shown to increase blood flow in the arteries of the stomach, which aids digestion.
We all know that mood swings are one of the most prevalent symptoms of pregnancy. Saffron milk during pregnancy may help alleviate mood swings and prevent postpartum depression, according to research. Saffron serves as an antidepressant by boosting serotonin (a chemical that elevates mood) levels in the brain.
A sound night's sleep is something that almost all pregnant women desire. Because of discomfort and cramps, pregnant women find it difficult to sleep well as their pregnancy advances. Saffron (kesar) is not only an excellent antioxidant, but it is also a herbal sedative that helps reduce cramps and relax you, allowing you to get a good night's sleep.
Saffron contains antioxidants, flavonoids, and potassium, which help lower the risk of heart disease. Crocetin, found in saffron, lowers bad cholesterol levels and prevents fat and cholesterol buildup in and on the arterial walls of the heart.
Pregnant women's heart rates and blood pressure levels fluctuate frequently. Saffron use throughout pregnancy can help in managing blood pressure as kesar is rich in antioxidants like crocin, picrocrocin, safranal, and crocetin. Adding 3 to 4 strands of Kashmiri saffron to milk can help pregnant women decrease their blood pressure. Saffron also relaxes muscles and stimulates the uterus.
Many pregnant women have hair loss as a result of hormonal imbalances. Applying a paste of saffron, milk, and licorice helps prevent hair loss during pregnancy and stimulate hair growth, according to old wisdom.
In the third trimester, many women complain of leg and abdominal cramps, as well as joint pain. Saffron, which is known for anti-spasmodic and antinociceptive qualities, can help relieve excessive muscle cramps and relax joints, thereby lowering muscular discomfort during pregnancy.
Saffron should be avoided during the first trimester. Ayurveda recommends consuming saffron only during the fourth month of pregnancy, when you begin to feel the baby move in your womb. However, you should be aware that, till now, it has not been scientifically confirmed that consumption of kesar milk during pregnancy will influence the complexion of a new born infant. A child's skin colour is genetically established.
Conclusion
Saffron during pregnancy is highly recommended for pregnant women because of its amazing health benefits. However, you must consume kesar in moderation to avoid complications and health issues like nausea, anxiety, dry mouth, and numbness. You must consult your gynaecologist before consuming kesar during pregnancy. You can order premium-quality Kashmiri kesar online from Healthy Master.

Kashmir - Don’t Blink
tw: police brutality, graphic images of injuries, rape, flashing/epilepsy tw
[video id: This is Kashmir under occupation in 107 seconds. Ready? Try not to blink. 3... 2... 1.... In August 2019, India revokes Kashmir’s semi-autonomous special status. Insert is a clip of India’s Prime Minister Modi saying, “This is dawn of a new era” in hindi. Escalating their reign of terror. Communication shut down. Media blackout. Propaganda. Fake News. Because India (really) wants to hide its OPPRESSION. Insert is a clip of state sanctioned violence. In the background, chants of “Azaadi,” freedom in Urdu is heard. Seventy two long brutally fascist, record-shattering, completely inhuman years later, this is what Kashmir looks like: 738,000 Indian troops deployed. That is one solider for every eleven civilians in Kashmir. $1.4 billion lost in two months. (Economy shattered) 8 million people disconnected. Every single one. Every last one. 4000 people arrested. Bye Bye Democracy. Countless injuries, wounds, death and the Kashmir Valley, yes the Kashmir Valley now looks like this. Insert images of heavily militarized Kashmir Valley. While the Indian army has complete impunity to kill, abuse, rape. Yes, we said rape. 5000+ reported victims. Fact. Just how India has turned Kashmir into the world’s largest prison in 2019. Oh yeah, and the pellet guns. License to blind. (ICYMI) Shot in the face. Insert images of people shot in the face with pellet guns and showing other injuries.  17 killed, 6211 injured. 718 blinded. Even children. Tick Tock. And it gets worse. Nearly 6000 unmarked graves. Abductions. 8000 people have “disappeared.” All leaders under arrest. No political representation allowed. #Fascism. #RealFascism. And its not just physical. 45% adults under distress. 50% women suffer depression. 22% women have PTSD. Only one psychiatric hospital and 215,000 children are orphans. But Kashmir won’t give up on its DREAM. Insert is numerous clips of protests. A man cries out, “What do we want?” in hindi, following the crowd chants back, “Azaadi” multiple times. Are the leaders of the world listening? And oh, check out all this other stuff: Kashmiris have endured electrocution, stripped naked, electrocuted in genitals, hanged upside down, aeroplane stress position, head dunked..... [video cuts to all the violence inflicted upon Kashmiris] And now you know. Which means it is the the time for you to act. #StandWithKashmir end id]
