Carter and Kendra being divorced, but both still showing up to the Legends reunions is a hilarious idea

Hawkman has been a longtime favorite of mine so I always feel bad when Carter gets left out or one-noted in Legends stuff. He was really not as bad as anyone remembers (even me), I promise. His delivery just came across poorly cause he was only around for such a short time. And poor Scythian was dragged from a future that will never exist into a past he might never fully remember.

So yeah, [comic spoilers!] I don't think Kendra and Carter would be married with a 5 year old. I do think the Hawkman quarantine short film was plausible but I think the reality would be somewhere in between the two.

And I don't know that I'd write it but I think I'd love a story of Carter avoiding Legends things (and Kendra) on purpose until he finally convinces himself to just go to something. And then he and Kendra can awkwardly learn how to be actual friends before or in lieu of anything else.

As someone who prefers to know what they’re taking about, and a person who likes Hawkman lore, I find folks spouting incorrect information about that part of DC real annoying.

Personally I would actually READ THE BOOKS before making any statements about the stories. But what do I know? 🙄

as someone who read these when she was younger than kendra, every argument against carter is genuinely ridiculous. it was also kendra who would noticably get jealous in front of carter, which were written by kendra's creator.

It occurred to me that the Hawks are like the most convoluted polycule ever. Like…they’re the same chick but not but are and Carter’s in love with both because of who they are, and what they share and what they share and…most convoluted polycule I have ever seen in my life.

okay because as i'm sure you saw and probably sent this ask because of this post where i'm like hey is carter aware that kendra can sometimes channel shayera? and i took it to the council, and UNANIMOUSLY, across the fucking board, option 2. he knows she does and he's like "well that's great because it's like i'm with both of you. bc i do love you so when you remember me saying that even if i'm saying it to shayera, i'm also saying it to you :) why are you mad" and like. he KNOWS why she's mad. he should be killed in a shower of hammers. he should be flattened like a cartoon character in a hydraulic press.

like. you KNOW he's just like this because it avoids actually having to talk about The Real Issue (his personality and overall presentation) and puts the onus on kendra, who has to know i still love her and who he's waiting for she's still his soulmate, too, and after the hydraulic press i want him to be snapped out like an accordion and then have an anvil dropped on him

and this is so fucking RICH, this is so fucking BOLD, because this is a convoluted mess of relationships, if my dreams came true and katar hol came back and started dating kendra, and carter was experiencing through katar what kendra is experiencing through shayera, he would go fucking insane immediately. absolutely 0 to 100. he's killing every other man on earth. he's reacting so well and normally after that anvil fell on him.

and also, fundamentally, if shayera and kendra share a soul, and carter has been tied to a rocket ship and blasted into space, IS THAT NOT YURI?! even if he's still there it's yuri, actually. let's talk about that
