I played through both DS and GBA versions of The Sims 2 recently, had some massive hyperfixations over those games for a while (and tbh still do, lol), so yeah. Really wanted to draw my fave character off those games; Kent Hackett <3

The Sims 2 GBA and DS establish that the sims universe has its own equivalent of Star Trek. However, Kent Hackett's GBA bio saying he's waiting for a movie deal that may never come, and the fact that no one but him and Ava Cadavra seem to remember the show makes me come to the conclusion that The Sims takes place in the universe where Chaz Dastard's Intergalactic Star Safari was never saved by a massive fan letter-writing campaign like Star Trek was in real life, relegating it to a simple cult TV show without much pop culture impact.

Tim Daly is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Joe Hackett on the NBC sitcom Wings and his recurring role as the drug-addicted screenwriter J.T. Dolan on The Sopranos (for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award). He starred as Pete Wilder on the ABC medical drama Private Practice. He is also known for his voice role as Clark Kent/Superman in Superman: The Animated Series. From 2014 until 2019, he portrayed Henry McCord, husband of the Secretary of State, on the CBS drama Madam Secretary.

Abandoned Puppy Becomes Police Sniffer Dog

It’s a sad reality that not every dog gets the start in life they deserve. And Chester the Cocker Spaniel was one such canine. The RSPCA rescued him, along with six other puppies, after they were found abandoned in a metal cage.

But the clever canine has worked hard over the course of the year and is now a police sniffer dog, reports the Evening Standard.

From RSPCA Rescue to Sniffer Dog

In January, a member of the public found four-month-old Chester in the village of Hersden in Kent. He was in a metal box with three other Cocker Spaniels and two Terrier mix puppies.

“It’s very possible these puppies were abandoned by a breeder,” explained RSPCA inspector Clive Hopwood. “We believe these puppies may have failed to sell so they were abandoned having passed their ‘cute’ stage when they’re most marketable and most valuable.”

It proved difficult for the RSPCA to find Chester a forever home, due to his high energy levels. But then, his foster carers saw that he enjoyed searching and sniffing for things.

Foster carer Sarah Piggott, who works for the RSPCA, said, “No amount of walking or enrichment seemed to exhaust him. I realized he had a real drive for searching and sniffing things out when he’d easily find other dogs’ lost tennis balls on walks and kept bringing them to me.”

Tara Luxford adopted Bertie, Chester’s brother, and said that he was “destined” to become a sniffer dog with the police. “I remember one day we were walking them together and Bertie had lost his new toy in a bush and we couldn’t reach it,” she said. “We told Chester to ‘find it’ and he went straight into the bush and got it back for Bertie.”

In March, Surrey Police took Chester in and began training him to become a sniffer dog. According to Sarah, Chester has since caught up to the puppies who started their training before him.

“I’m so proud of him and I’m thrilled that he’s found a home where he can do what he loves every day while being well looked after.”

PD Chester became a licensed sniffer dog in October after coming to the end of a six-week intensive training course. He’s now been deployed around Surrey and Sussex alongside his handler PC Kim Hackett.

Highlights of my Sims 2 DS playthrough

I recently finished replaying this game. It’s not the best game in the world but I can’t help but love how strange and creepy it is. Here are some highlights of my time playing.

Found out that you can just name your sim a string of numbers or punctuation. So my sim’s name was 0000000. 

Kent Hackett lost his phone four times in a single day. Somehow he wasn’t the stupidest guest I had since Giuseppi Mezzoalto mangaded to set his hotel room on fire twice in about half an hour then got kidnapped by aliens.

After my main sim defeated Ava Cadvara, she set the penthouse on fire and ran away. When Ava came back as a regular guest, she set her hotel room on fire again. I’m convinced that Ava's a pyromaniac who sets things on fire when she gets upset.

The Aliens theme and Optimum Alfred still gives me the creeps. 

My sim flirted with everyone that the game allowed. Kent Hackett seemed to have a big crush on my sim since he once sent a text talking about how he defeated her honour from a sim insulting her.

Johnny Smith still looked like he'd seen some terrible stuff and was now dead inside.

The finale is still very weird, after breaking into the penthouse stealing the main antagonist Optimum Alfred‘s blueprints(whose a freaky looking robot), you get given a growth potion by Emperor Xizzle.(he’s normally your enemy, who tries to take over Strangetown but has temporarily allied with you to defeat Optimum Alfred). 

Anyways you take the potion and grow into a giant,in order  to destroy Optimum Alfred’s satellite on the hotel’s sun deck. Then you don your rat costume as the superhero Ratticator to defeat the evil ape robot and his goons. When you win, Optimum Alfred falls into the sun deck’s pool as you climb on the hotel rooftop in a victorious pose. Roll the credits.

Hotel Guests household, Strangetown - #1

“The Strangetown Hotel’s grand re-opening is finally happening, and the media is buzzing about its first guests: B-list celebrity Auda Sherif and THE Tristan Legend! Oh, and Kent Hackett.”

Strangetown Hotel just recently reopened and has Tristan Legend, Auda Sherif and Kent Hackett on board as the first guests. The others who dropped by for a visit were Dusty Hogg, Erin Beaker and Pascal Curious to “welcome” them on the re-opening.

Tristan went out on an outing that night at Downtown with Lord Mole and Optimum Alfred, and the Concierge tagged along. Sancho Paco Panza was there too, smooching with Chloe Curious.

I also gave Tristan and Kent a bit of a makeover, and Kent met my simself there. Look how she played arcade haha :D

The guests are always just hanging out at the hotel, and Tristan tried to do standup comedy.

I’ve been swamped for days, but I swear I’ll have my reviews for Empire of hate by Rina Kent and Unforgiven by Rebecca Zanetti up later today. Also, The detective by Anna Hackett had been whispersynced, so I bought the audiobook. Back to my reading!
