“Near Mosier, Oregon, April 2011”
©2011 Gary L. Quay
The wind was so strong that I eventually gave up on the tripod, and hand held everything. I had brought the hasselblad as a last-minute decision, intending to use only large format. I'm glad I did, because I would have gone home empty handed otherwise.
Up on Rowena Crest, the wind was even stronger. We eventually gave up, because we feared that we may have lost equipment over the edge.
Camera: Hasselblad 500CM, hand held at 125th sec.
Lens: 50mm Carl Zeiss.
Film: Kodak T-Max 400 Developed in Kodak Xtol.

Snow story {digging through the archive}
Digging through the archive, film I've developed, scanned and left waiting. It was one of the drives through the countryside my father and I take every December. Here, a spring water pool in a middle of a village. December 2011.
Taken with borrowed Fujica G690BL medium format 6×9 film camera, its EBC Fujinon S 100mm F3.5 lens, on Kodak T-Max 100 Professional film. Developed in Kodak Xtol, 1+1 dilution. Scanned with Canon CanoScan 8800F flatbed scanned, using VueScan.

Samodzielne składanie wywoływaczy i receptura D-76

black-and-white developing composition includes as ascorbic acid developing agent, an auxiliary super-additive developing agent, borate buffer and a preservative. The composition pH is from 7 but less than 9. The composition can be formulated from two separately packaged parts that may be in dry or liquid form. The borate buffer is present to maintain the desired pH, and the two developing agents are present in desired molar ratios for optimal developing activity. Improved photographic properties are obtained while avoiding the use of environmentally unfriendly dihydroxybenzenes
xtol patent
Xtol is one of the few developers that do not contain hydroquinone. It uses derivatives of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and phenidone as developing agents. Claimed advantages include low toxicity (important for environmental reasons as well as occupational safety), easy mixing, and an unusual combination of fine grain with high film speed.[1]
Xtol was covered by a US patent until its expiry in 2016.[2] It is sold by Kodak in a powdered form to make 5 litres of developer. A similar formula, compatible with Xtol in terms of developing times and the resulting contrast curves, is sold by Adox under the name XT-3 in powder packages for 1 or 5 litres of developing solution.[3

“Multnomah Falls, January 2011”
©2011 Gary L. Quay
I was in the gorge one morning in January 2011 before the sun crested the mountains. It was a gray morning, and very few people were out due to the freezing temperatures. I set up my Hasselblad at the fence by Multnomah Falls. The spray was getting on my lens, and then on the Kodak gel filter that I put in front of the lens. This wasn't good. I ended up placing a box over the camera to keep it dry. I shot up a half a roll of film there, and then I heard a shuffling behind me. I looked back to see a dog. From the dog hung a leash, held by a young woman.
Wearing red pajamas.
That's right. The wind chill put the temperature at 18 degrees, and she was wearing pajamas. Her dog looked warm, though. Her husband (Assumed) was close behind carrying a camera bag and was dressed for the weather. I couldn't help looking over at her from time to time, just to see if she was cold. I had an extra sweatshirt in the car. She seemed to be fine, though, so I didn't offer. People have different responses to cold weather. Mine is to avoid it if at all possible, and if not, to dress very warm.
Camera: Hasselblad 500CM. Cropped from 6x6 negative.
Lens: 50mm Carl Zeiss.
Film: Ilford Pan F+ developed in Kodak Xtol

...another try. finally a Camera I manage to shoot an entire roll a day. Four 360° Images fit on one 120 film... ;) Just like 6x17. Whats really nice about this camera - compared to Noblex, Horizon and so on - the angle the rotating lens coveres can be adjusted in 45° Steps!
