Favourites "OH" moment ?
‘Oh’ moments, I adore those moments! 🥹
So let’s see, five ‘oh’ moments from this year, number one has got to be Jae Young in Semantic Error, he looked up and the light bulb went off so fast, dude looked breathless.
The dual ‘oh’ moment of Koichi and Mitsuru in Eternal Yesterday is definitely number two, they were hooked from the second they saw one another.
Number three is the moment in The Eclipse when Ayan realized that Akk actually liked him back and they weren’t just teasing each other anymore.
Number four is Amagi adorably blurting out his ‘oh’ moment in the very first episode of Takara Kun to Amagi Kun.
Finally, five would have to be Win’s ‘oh’ moment which he then spends the next two episodes of Between Us denying lol.

Yeah, I like that one ship where the girl is like half a meter taller than the boy,
She’s all badass and has flawless hair that turns white sometimes when she uses her powers. but she also has a cute feminine side and is head over heals with the boy in a super cutesy waifu way.
Meanwhile, the boy is a literal ray of sunshine and he appears to be kinda whimpy and insecure at first, but he’s actually the most down with committing felony in all the series.
also literally everyone else is fawning over him, so tall girl gets p jealous sometimes all the time.

BLCD Review: Haga-kun wa Kamaretai
Title: Haga-kun wa Kamaretai (羽賀くんは噛まれたい)
Author/Artist: Sakashita Senmu
Release Date: 2021/09/10
Cast:
Takahashi Hiroki x Ono Yuuki
Ishiya Haruki
Miyake Marie
Matsuoka Youhei
Kawada Yuu
Souma Koichi
Synopsis: Prisoner Haga was tired of his boring life in jail and thought of staging a jailbreak! Just at that moment, an alpha prison officer was assigned to him...?
Review Proper
I mean, I knew.
Still, wait, no, I KNEW. I HAVE NO EXCUSE. I KNEW, BUT WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS PLOT or lack thereof? 😂 The things I do for Ono Yuuki...
Anyway, know that this is PWP to the max and if you’re a plothoe like me, this ain’t for you. We’ll just go straight to the production now.
For those who haven’t noticed already, this is reversed DakaOtoko. It’s not that I haven’t heard TakaHiro as a top before, but as I’ve said in previous reviews, he’s pretty hit and miss. Thankfully, however, he did pretty well. It’s a far cry from his Renjaku-san performance that I love and adore, but he survived at least. Goddamn, DakaOtoko 4 really fucked me up. Sorry, TakaHiro. For more context, he (as well as Kishow and Suzuki Chihiro) pauses and rushes at odd moments. Like rapping then stopping suddenly lmao. It’s not really obvious in Haga, but it’s 100% there if you listen for it. He did have his moments, though. His daddy moments. Best believe this man could be the next Kenyuu or Sugitan if he sets his mind to it.
As for Ono Yuuki, the true MVP of this BLCD, I felt like he did a bit too much. 😂 It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I can’t deny that he managed to swallow TakaHiro up in this performance. You gotta hand it to this man. His Haga was like a mix of Tattsun’s Gian Carlo, Okitsu’s Maki from Kuchizuke o wa Uso no Aji, and his own Minato. All the queen sluts combined! No wonder everyone else drowned. 😂 And aww I missed Ono Yuuki in more comedic roles. It’s been such a long while. I wish for more of these (but I’m really fine with settling with just Dante for now).
As for the rest of the cast, I’m pleasantly surprised that they did very well. Ishiya Haruki’s very dynamic here. He could easily match energies with OnoYuu’s Haga, adding to the authentic chaotic omega broham shebang. There’s one of the last three who has Moririn’s range tho. I’m still gonna check that out later, but I was really shook. I hope he does more BL. We need you, sir.
Overall, the execution was fine. They did cut some dialogue here and there, but there weren’t any major changes. If chaotic omegaverse is your dig, then definitely give this a try. I’m not really an abo enjoyer, so I can’t recommend anything similar sumimasen. The things I do for Ono Yuuki x 2 There’s Kashikomarimashita, Destiny, though.

BL- BOYS' LOVE:
Series: EIEN NO KINO aka ETERNAL YESTERDAY (2022, JAPAN)
Series Finale..December 9, 2022
Very Make Our Days Count as suspected. Koichi (KOMIYA RIO) proclaims his love for Mitchan (INOUE SORA) but with tears in his eyes. Koichi says he's sorry but he can't do this anymore. Mitchan & Koichi claim one another as Number 1. The one they love the most.
Koichi asks Mitchan to make love.
The next morning Koichi is gone. No one remembers him as a living corpse (except Mitchan) he was found in the place where the truck hit him.
There's a little more to the story. Like a five year time jump and Mitchan in a tent remembering his love for Koichi (think Hao Ting from MODC but not quite as miserable)
Though sad this show did what MODC didn't do. A different kind of BL but props to the amazing KOMIYA RIO & INOUE SORA.

Alright, new question, I know how much you enjoy your Sad Gay Boy Hours. What shows, besides Until We Meet Again, because I know how much you love it, satisfy your Sad Gay Boy needs?
The Boys Who Suffered
The big thing about The Knowing is The Suffering. There is a melancholy that seeps into you and makes you think you aren't enough. These characters are hard to watch. I know you asked about shows, but I'm doing some movies as well because I've been thinking about genre history lately. For this it's about whether or not the quiet sadness in me connected to the quiet sadness I perceived in a character in this show.
Moonlight (2016)
He is the saddest boy in my heart. This is the moment that breaks him forever.
For The Boys
Jamal, Syed, and Anthony have suffered for being who they are, and they are hurting. They cling to each other and it's often too hard.
Weekend (2011)
This man is so lonely even if people love him. I feel melancholy for days any time I watch this film.
Big Eden (2000)
I don't know who taught him shame, but there's this sense of surrender in Henry that has haunted me for fifteen years.
A Single Man (2009)
Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci play some of the saddest gay men who have ever existed. This entire project is about grief.
180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us
Inthawut is the saddest man in BL.
Given (2019)
The reveals about the depths of sadness in this boy are really some of the best I've experienced.
Eternal Yesterday (2022)
He was suffering even before Koichi died, and it saddens me so much that the world bent to let him say goodbye to help him grieve.
The Pornographer Series
I just knew there was something fundamentally off about Kijima and the rest of these men.
The Day I Loved You (2023)
I keep meaning to write something about this show, but there's something special about going into a relationship you know won't be forever because of external factors, and also choosing to make that time as special as possible.
Tokyo in April is...
Ren suffering for Kazuma gets me every time.
Like in the Movies (2020)
I'm never getting over Karl and Vlad. I'm sad we'll likely never see them again because in so many ways the specific pieces of melancholy in each of them are why they didn't walk away together.
To My Star 2: Our Untold Stories
These two were not left at HEA and they didn't end there this time, either. Both of these two are carrying some heavy shit in their hearts, and I find comfort in seeing them stumble and keep trying.
What Did You Eat Yesterday?
Shiro makes me so sad sometimes, and I'm so glad he found Kenji.
The Eclipse
Every boy in this show is a sad mess.
The Eighth Sense
I'm glad Jae Won found Ji Hyun, because that country twink won't give up on him.
Kabe-Koji Nekoyashiki-kun Desires to be Recognized
I recently rewatched this and feel so much about Mamoru and Issei.
Our Dating Sim
Lee Wan was wrong, but I get him.
We Best Love
"Yes, I'm in love with you, but that's none of your business."
Stuck On You
The Philippines crushed the pandemic. This is quietly one of the better ones about people who were already suffering.
Blueming
Hwang Da Seul's oeuvre always seems to hit my sad boy core.
Sing My Crush
Every time Han Baram says Im Hantae's name I lose it.

Getting to know your BL mutuals - 2022 Edition
What has been the BL(s) that took you by surprise this year?
Takara-kun to Amagi-kun - I honestly wasn’t expecting much from this and tbh, it didn’t offer much but damn if it wasn’t the sweetest simplest little series ever. The story was simple, it was a very classic high school Yaoi plot but it was so damn sweet. The characters were a joy to watch and I did not expect to love them as much as a did.
Eternal Yesterday - Another BL out of Japan which I honestly don’t usually enjoy very much, but this just grabbed my attention and crushed my heart. I adored it, the story was amazingly bittersweet and the chemistry between the characters was so great.
Ghost Host Ghost House - I honestly wasn’t expecting much from this one and was so pleasantly surprised by not only the amazing acting and chemistry and the plot was so damn heartfelt.
What has been the BL(s) that you felt a disappointed with this year?
Check Out - After episode zero I was super interested in what was going to come from the show, but when it actually started to air it was one massive disappointment. They were all terrible people, like there was barely a single character in the series that is likeable. Honestly had they kept them vacationing, maybe going for a ‘finding ourselves’ road trip kind of feeling that episode zero had, it would’ve been way better.
Love In The Air - I don’t know why I was expecting better from MAME, after these past few years I was hoping she would’ve matured and her writing would’ve gotten better, but I was just disappointed as per usual. I don’t know why I keep giving her series the benefit of the doubt, it’s like I’m in an emotionally ab*sive relationship with her series. Which lets be honest, MAME would love, that type of shit is part of her MO after all.
Oh! My Sunshine Night - What… How… Where… Who… WHY!? Just I cannot fathom someone getting this script, reading it and saying: yeah, totally makes sense, let’s do this! I just cannot even.
What has been your favourite BL this year?
Not Me (is started in 2021 but ended in 2022 so it counts) and The Eclipse, hands down my favourites. I’m not kidding when I say both of these series got so far under my skin that I feel fundamentally changed as a human, I fully admit it.
Favourite BL couple(s) of 2022
AkkAyan, SeanWhite, WinTeam, CakeEiw and Jaeyoung x Sangwoo.
If you had to suggest a BL for someone what would it be?
For something kind of light and simple, with really classic Yaoi tropes, I’d say Cherry Blossoms After Winter. It’s sweet, it’s short, it’s colourful and it has a HEA.
For something heavier, Until We Meet Again. I really feel like UWMA is like top tier one percentile level BL content, it’s plot is engaging, the acting is fantastic, the characters draw you into their emotional world so easily. Everyone plays an important part in the story, it’s just something that will make you laugh and cry and think, especially if you’re a queer person. Korn and Intouch’s tragic love is something that can resonate with so many people in the LGBTQ+ community, especially older queer folks who lived in the era those two characters did. That type of prejudice and the toll it takes and how terrible it can end, yeah, it’s something that a lot of queer people can understand.
What's your non-BL favorite for this year?
I don’t watch a lot of series/shows that aren’t BLs, I’m actually more of a movie person than a series person. So BLs are really the only series I tend to watch, I like that they tend to be short. I don’t have a great attention span, hence why I like movies better. But I did watch Wednesday on Netflix and it was great, really enjoyed it.

also always wanted to say it, but never gathered courage until now, your art is genuinely amazing and inspiring
POV: you're their classmate.

J: Oi, Koichi... was that(sentence) REALLY correct??

15 Day BL Challenge
The full challenge can be found here!
☆*:.。. Day 4: Fave Ship Dynamic .。.:*☆
This one was a perfect excuse to go look at about a hundred of this ‘fave ship dynamic’ drawings people did! I like to diversify my romance intake, and I’m easily pleased so I had a bit of a hard time picking.
I am gone for a good friends to lovers ship. When it’s well done, with all the angst of finding your feelings shifting, and the fear of losing what you have, the whole shebang?? I eat that up. We recently had a wonderful example of it with Kimi ni wa todokanai that I loved dearly.
I also think of Cake and Eiw in My Only 12%, or DNA says I love you (even if there is a lot of other stuff happening in this one).
Established couples ! I know romance mostly focuses on people getting together, but I have to say, I am a sucker for an established couple going through life – first coming to mind are Shiro and Kenji, from Kinou nani tabeta? (even if so far I only saw the first season, don't tell on me)
Other favorite are Maki and Haruta in Ossan's Love Returns, Park and Lee in My Secret Love, the Korean short film Secret Roommate. Even the boys in Don’t Say No, actually. I just like to see people navigating a relationship, be it early or late in the game, and all the domesticity that comes with it.
And I do love a good sunshine/grumpy pair, pretty classically, especially the ‘we are both hurt/traumatized’ flavor. One of my favorite pair is Korn and In from Until We Meet Again, my tragic lovers.
I’m also thinking of Nekoyashiki and Issei from Kabe Koji Nekoyashiki-kun desired to be recognized, Mitsuru/Koichi from Eien no Kinou (another tragic one), or Jiwoo/Seojoon from To My Star.
