It's soon time for the best event of my creative year – Kyndelsmarknad i Lykttändargränd – when my friends and I come together to create a magical winter fair world in Malmö.
Once upon a time sprawling from a Harry Potter larp birthday party for a little girl, it has grown into a celebration of magical worlds and longing to visit the world of books and movies. Here you are invited to step in to a world of witches, wizards, ghosts, trolls, goblins... and thousands do so every year.
I am honored to be tasked to make the posters, the paintings and layout, with title and logo by my friend the talented calligrapher Peter Svärd.
These are my three best posters!
(Also Hello to my new followers finding your way here from Neil Gaiman's reblog of my All Hallow's Read book monster. You are most welcome!)
A month from now Kyndelsmarknad i Lykttändargränd, our beloved magical winter fair will again brighten and baffle the good people of Malmö, Sweden.
It's as much a celebration of the magical world in literature as a manifestation of what creative people can make when they come together. You should try making one yourselves! And you should visit!
I've painted and designed the poster, with the help of calligraphy master and rouge alchemist Peter Svärd. Really happy with the result!
Less than two weeks to the Magic Market in Malmö, Sweden. I have tons of exciting stuff to finish but no time to post it. Really, you should just visit us instead.
I made myself a pointy hat! Finally! And I'm really proud of the result! Wanted to make me one for a long time and now finally I did because friends of mine arranged a Harry Potter inspired winter market and I wanted to my bit to contribute to the mood. The hat has some neat features, a slot for the wand, a pocket for coins and ear flaps to keep warm in the winter! In front I've mounted a medal from 1897 that has a really fitting motif. Looks like a school for magic doesn't it! Also: the market was a success! It had such an atmosphere and people queued for hours to be part of it!
