If Zelda is stuck underground for the entirety of TOTK, I’m just going to be incandescent with rage. Like, if so, what was it all for?
Zelda is an explorer too. She was studying the tech in BOTW, studying potions. She travelled around alone right up until it was no longer safe to do so. In Champion’s Ballad she takes it upon herself to seek out and lead the Champions. It’s her idea to check on Vah Ruta in the BOTW epilogue. In the first TOTK trailer, she’s the one with torch (she’s leading their expedition!)
If after all she’s been through, she just gets locked up and relegated to being a tutorial voice and a speedrun goal, again, while Link gets to explore a bunch of ancient relics and history without her? I dunno. The kingdom isn’t gonna be the only thing in tears is all I’m saying

at first he didn't really want to introduce you bc he was scared of the hate you'll get but his viewers immediately accepted you and now he loves streaming with you. loves playing chill games like animal crossing or the sims 4 but also loves games where you need to play in team like fortnite or overwatch (you both keep dying trying to save each other but you dont care). obsessed with doing reacts and mostly with you (bc he gets to hold your hand and see you all excited hehe) doesn't really like showing affection on streams but does it behind the camera like putting his hand on your tight or holding your hand and playing with it when he's just chatting or reacting. his chat always asks abt you when you're not here and he gets pouty bc you're getting more attention than him from his own viewers. gets all happy when he sees you in the chat bc he loves when you take time to watch his streams. talks abt you a lot without even realizing it. "oh y/n have the same shirt", "wait this place looks so cool i wanna go with y/n" (he literally write down the name of the place to show you later), "this game is so cool i have to try it with y/n" (he calls you immediately to ask you to come over). "hold on i got a text from y/n" and the chat always trases him abt it: "we get it you're in love!!🙄" "stop pausing the video to talk abt y/n we're trying to watch😡".
renjun
don't really care abt haters and you do too so he didn't really have a problem introducing you asap. can't focus at first bc he can't get used to you sharing his passion, it really warms his heart. loves when the chat compliment you and he gets all clingy and smiley when they did bc he's just so proud to have you. more a switch player like mario or zelda games but when he starts playing more raging games like valorant or call of duty, he takes it really serious and play for his life and it surprises you everytime. watches animes or cartoons with you on stream bc you both love it and his viewers does too. loves doing diy with you bc it's so relaxing. loves doing vlog streams when you're going to the grocery or to the park bc he gets to film you both holding hands and being all lovey dovey. will give you small kisses everywhere on the face but the lips bc he wants to keep some intimacy. tweets about you a lot: "hi everyone i love my gf", "can't stream today i wanna cuddle y/n all day sorry guys". bought spare headphones and a controller for you so you can always join him whenever you want.
jeno
oh this man loves showing you off. he will not hesitate to show everyone that you're his. lets you sit on his lap while he plays, gives you a kiss when he feels like it or gives you long stares that just makes his chat scream (mostly bc they're jealous of what you both have). this man is obsessed with war games like battlefield or call of duty and gets bored when he plays chill games (but sometimes gets into it bc it's with you). can get really serious and don't want to be bothered when he's focused and you know that so you just watch him play and cheer him up. also loves playing horror games with you bc it's so funny. his viewers are so supportive and also always makes comments on how they're going to steal you from him so he gets clingy and hold you close while teasing them: "oh try me i'll fight for my life if i need to.". always posts pictures of you on instagram and spend minutes talking abt it on stream "y'all saw my new ig post? she's literally the prettiest girl ever i knoow", "should i post another one? ahhh my girl looks so good". always reassure you and shower you with love when you get insecure bc of the few hate comments you get.
haechan
he can literally spend a whole day on live. like this man really needs to touch grass sometimes. but his viewers are so loyal and supportive that they accepted you immediately (ofc there were hate comments but hc banned those ppl lol) and it just made hc so happy bc he loves sharing his passion with you. can someone get this man off league of legend and valorant? like you always try to convince him to play something else and sometimes he does bc it's with you but as soon as he can go back to his games he will. oh and you both loves reacts sooo much and he's mostly known for those reacts bc you both are just so funny. loves small horror games bc he can hold you while he plays bc you're scared and he also likes making fun of your reactions. takes breaks just to call you between games "say hi to the chat baby", "can you come over i miss you". when it comes to showing affection, he gets more and more comfortable with time, starting with small kisses and touchings to sitting on his lap and small neck kisses. you get worried a lot bc of the time he spend on playing games but he always reassure you that he's fine. has 2 days off in the week to spend time with you and rest. even if he spends a lot of time on his pc, he always listen when it gets too much for you and try his best to give you the attention you need.
jaemin
this man is crazy in love with you so he introduced you to his viewers as soon as he could. it got a lot of bad reactions that he didn't expect but he didn't really paid attention bc he's just happy to introduce his baby. obsessed with tycoons mostly cooking one and loves playing it with you. also a lot of Minecraft, he builds houses and tell his viewers that it's your future house with 3 cats and 2 dogs. does reacts sometimes but only when you're with him. loves showing the pictures he took of you (he keeps some of it for himself ofc). he doesn't really like kissing or holding you on live bc he likes keeping this moments between you, when you're alone but he doesn't hesitate to compliment you in front of the chat. "look at my babyyyy", "oh my god why are you so cute", "i can't concentrate you're too pretty", "oh my god you did so good sweetheart" (and he gives you small cheek kisses when he can't resist it) always takes time off to spend it with you and give you the attention you need. like he can cut a stream anytime if you need him (even if it's just to go to the grocery bc you're craving something) and his viewers got used to it.
chenle
talked a lot about you during his streams but didn't really introduced you at first bc he was scared and shy (even if his chat encouraged him a lot) but once he did he didn't regret it bc streaming was even funnier with you. loves playing funny games and mostly sports games (get him off nba2k pls). you mostly watch him play and comment but he tries to involve you as much as he can. loves when the chat compliment you and even gets a bit shy bc he's proud that you're his. not really affective on live but teases you a lot and looks at you with so much love that the chat teases him and he gets all shy everytime. gets complains from the viewers bc he's always teasing you: "leave our baby alone!😡" "you're so cruel omg😔". and he always goes like "it's my love language leave me alone!!". always makes sure you're comfortable with it ofc, he will always asks you when the camera's off if you're okay with the teasing. face times you during streams to ask you random questions "hey what is the name of the new noodles we tried the other day?" "am i bad ta nba2k? my chat is bullying me help". always makes sure he have free time to spend it with you bc he's way more comfortable when you're alone.
jisung
really really shy at first (even now but less). he talked abt you before and his chat always asks him to invite you but he'll get shy and just change the subject. but you appeared on his live by accident one day. "hey jisung did you see my- oh...", "hum... guys this is y/n. my girlfriend." was very surprised by his viewers positive reactions and got more and more comfortable with you being around during his lives. even bought spare headphones for you. he mostly does reacts like tv reality shows or animes bc he loves watching those with you and even more on live. don't play a lot or when he does it's chill games bc he gets stressed easily. he loves playing Minecraft bc it's relaxing and also you love watching him playing it. also loves playing the sims 4 with bc it's a mess. hates when you makes him play horror games (but found himself having a bit of fun) whenever his viewers asks him to play a new game he just goes "nooo i want to play it with y/n" and pout. loves irl streaming when you go to the arcade. small attentions during streams like getting you snacks, making sure you're comfortable or caressing your tight (bc it's behind the camera) when you're getting anxious. has a lot of free time for you bc he doesn't stream a lot (like 3 times a week) but when he does it's long streams.

You woke up in a sour mood on Saturday, head pounding and your mouth extremely dry, a bitter taste resting on your gums. Your week had been long and challenging, you hadn’t even been that keen on going out partying Friday evening but Cindy, your closest colleague had psyched you up and made you feel excited about the whole thing, you even enjoyed yourself, had quite a few drinks, lots of laughs, some stumbling around with some other girls from the office as you made your way out and a permanent sloppy grin painted your features as you got out the cab and stepped through the door to your small house where so much love had been shared you were comfortable calling it a home. That grin was wiped clean off the moment you stepped through the door.
A hangover was beating down on you, made even worse when you woke up with no long muscly arms wrapped around you, or any limbs even touching you for that matter. You craned your neck from your position lying on your side to see Eddies back to you, shallow even breaths making his torso expand evenly. It felt melancholy, not waking up with a comforting warmth wrapped around you, and you almost let that feeling overtake you before you rolled your eyes as you remembered what had actually gone down the night before, the reason for why there would be no awaiting tylenol and water on your bedside table and no lazy saturday morning cuddles before Ophelia woke up.
You dragged yourself out of bed, the weight on your feet feeling undeniably heavy and sagging as your post drunk state hit you like a slap in the face when your head leveled upright. Taking a deep breath you decided to go downstairs and get yourself some pain killers, a very large glass of water or two and a strong cup of coffee.
Rubbing your eyes of sleep you sipped your coffee at the kitchen table, sunk into the wooden chair, much too hard for any slouching to be at all comfortable. Footsteps pattered against the wooden stairs alerting you that someone was coming to join you, much to your dismay it wasn't a light pitter patter of tiny feet but heavy steps of a tired grown man probably equally as sour as you. The thuds alerting his presence caused you to quickly adjust your worn cotton nightgown, pulling the hem up comfortably to cover any awkward cleavage.
You didn't even look his way as you heard the same footsteps enter the sage green and powder blue kitchen, you made no effort to stand up and greet him in any way instead you just sipped your coffee and looked out of the window. Your husband’s and your own car parked in the driveway in front of the empty quiet street of the suburbs. Green grass damp with the morning dew brightening up the dark hours of the early winter morning, a colorful painted mailbox even more a stark contrast to the blacks and deep blues that painted the sky.
Eddie poured himself a cup of coffee and folded himself into the opposite chair, a low groan slipping past his lips at the action. All you did was glance over to him, at the interruption, but Eddie's eyes were fixed on the maple of the table as his hands wrapped around the dark Star Wars mug, the same one he drank his coffee in every morning, just like you with your Zelda mug. Before you flicked your eyes back to the view of the street through the window you noticed Eddie was shirtless, pale skin dampened in the lack of light shining at him, torso littered with tattoos, snaking up his arms and chest, down to his hips. He too hadn’t bothered to change into day clothes yet.
The silence loomed over the small open kitchen as you both sipped your coffee in quiet, you refusing to meet his gaze as Eddie chanced glances at you, trying to gather what mood you were in and by extension how the rest of the day would look like. All he could understand was that you were nowhere near happy and that meant that his day would probably be even longer than the workweek had been.
He cleared his throat in an attempt to get you to look at him but you blatantly ignored him and continued staring out the window. Just as he was about to try again the familiar noise of tiny feet tread the steps down the stairs that he had taken not long ago. In an instant both of your heads turned in the direction of the hall awaiting Ophelia, eyes fixed on the corner before a head of messy brown curls appeared.
In her blue whale pajamas, clutching her favorite teddy bear, Mr Burr as she so pleasantly called him. Rugged white fabric, fluff lost with the amount of love it had been given the past four and a half years and stuffing unevenly placed in the head and body, leaving a thin long neck on the seal in its rightful position of Ophi’s elbow.
“Hia baby” had it been any other day your voice would be alot more chipper, but today, you couldn't muster up the strength, your tone was flat and croaky, clear evidence of the night before. Eddie winced behind you as he heard it, you were probably not feeling very well and he couldn't help but feel the slight guilt that part of it was his fault with the fighting yesterday, but also not being there to dote on you the morning after you had been out drinking.
“Hi” Ophis' voice was near a whisper, still tired and not fully awake, she walked over to you, holding her hands out expectantly. You groaned as your weak muscles worked to pick your daughter up and sit her in your lap, that too made Eddie wince, guilt bubbling up even more than it already had. “Sleep ok?” he leaned over the table to let her slide her small hand into his big palm “No it was too loud” she complained as she let her dad wrap his fingers around her wrist. “Oh I’m sorry baby, were mommy and daddy talking too loud? you should have come in and told us” you hugged her to you as you felt bad about keeping your daughter up. “Probably would have helped me get to bed faster than staying up till 4 am” you mumbled, too groggy and hoarse for Ophi to understand what you were saying. Eddie let go of his daughter's hand with an eye roll, occupying himself with a large gulp of bitter coffee instead.
“Why were you and daddy fighting?” Ophelia turned to you as she nuzzled her head to your collarbone “Me and daddy just had a little argument” you explained as a hand instinctively went to comfort her, smoothing down her hair atop her head. “What was it about?” she pressed as Eddie stood up from his seat to prepare a bowl of cereal for her and later on, her sister.
You looked over at him and decided, you may as well just tell her “Hmm well you know when Daddy says you can’t wear some things?” looking down at her. “Oh great turn our daughter against me” Eddie grumbled as he poured milk into a pink plastic bowl, you scowled at him as the little girl spoke “Yeah, I don't like that, he tells Woxy too” she frowned up at you, it was difficult to take her seriously as she tried to pronounce her sister Roxette’s nickname. “Yeah well daddy does that with me too” you explained in a soft tone, despite the fact that you were actually really annoyed at the fact. “Why? Daddy says it's because I'm just little but you’re old” you chuckled, not catching the way Eddie's lips tugged up at the corners. “Yeah, I’m old”
Eddie sat back down before placing the bowl and a small spoon in front of Ophelia's usual place at the kitchen table, signaling for you to let her down so she could eat. Ophelia crawled down and then up again to sit with her knees digging into the specially placed cushion on her chair.
“Daddy” she looked up after a few mouthfuls “Hm?” he turned to give her his full attention “Why can't mommy wear what she wants? She’s not little, she's a woman” Ophelia asked confused. The gears were visibly turning in Eddie's brain as he thought over how best to explain it, he couldn't exactly tell his almost 5 year old daughter that her mom couldn’t waltz around in skirts that he barely considered an actual article of clothing and tops that reveal the things that are only for his eyes to see. “Um… well” he was fighting for words. “Because sometimes Daddy forgets that I’m not little like you” you interrupted, booping Ophelia's nose to earn a light giggle “So he forgets that it's not okay for him to tell me how to dress” even though your voice is soft you shoot Eddie a hard glare giving him insight into how you were actually feeling about him at the moment.
Eddie rolled his eyes again and sat back in his chair, bringing the black ceramic up to his lips. “But listen Ophi, ok this is very important” you lent forward to catch her eye “When you become a big girl and same goes for your sister, if someone other than me or your daddy ever tells you what you can and can't do you have to come to us, and tell us ok?” Ophelia nodded in understanding “Especially if it's a boy ok? Because it's very important that you remember that you are your own person, and that no one can tell you how to dress ok?” Ophelia nodded again “You gonna come tell us if that happens?” “Yeah” Ophelia nodded happily as you sat back to mimic Eddie and bring your own coffee cup up to your lips and your eldest began her meal again.
You recognised Eddie's face as he stared unfocused behind you, he was clearly mulling something over by the looks of it arguing with himself in his mind. Under any other circumstances you would ask him “Penny for your thought princess?” in some corny southern british accent, but today you simply didn't want to know.
Ophelia seemed not to notice the tension between her two parents as she told you both about a strange dream she had where Eddie’s guitar had turned into an airplane and she had flown off with her friend Louise Harrington in it, both you and Eddie humoring her as she spoke with mouthfuls of cheerios. Soon enough she was situated under a blanket with various stuffed animals and a bottle of water on the couch to watch her morning cartoons next to three year old little Roxette who munched on some cut up slices of toast by Eddie and sat watching intently as bright colors lit up the screen.
As Eddie got Ophelia and Roxette settled you pulled yourself upstairs with the intent of a shower and a fresh change of clothes, but decided to belly flop head first into the soft pillows of your bed, almost dozing off as the door next to your right opened. You didn't bother looking up as you heard Eddie close the door carefully and tiptoed around the bed to his own side, under the impression that you had passed out but was instantly startled as you awkwardly turned your head to press your cheek into the pillows, facing Eddie as he was about to climb back into bed himself.
Your voice was muffled against the pillow as you spoke, “Come to shout about what a massive slut I am again?” Eddie cringed as he heard you, he took a deep breath before sitting down next to you, his back to the headboard. “No..” he sighed “You sure? Or would you maybe prefer attention seeking.. whore? Was it? No no wait, seeking attention like some common whore, that's what it was” Eddie shrunk in on himself as you repeated the words he had shouted at you in fury the night before, you knew Eddie would come around, you knew he would apologize, but this particular time you felt he had really crossed a line so you had no problem sprinkling some salt in his wounds.
“Baby.. I’m sorry” he whispered as he leaned over to place a hand on your back and rub it up and down. “Mmmm” you sarcastically hummed “I-I really shouldn't have said that, I was being an absolute dick” at that you hummed in agreement, face still half smushed into the pillows as you looked up at him. “I just, you know how I feel about Billy.. I already don't want him around you, and when I saw you come home like that I just knew he was probably lapping it up” a roll of your eyes “But I took my anger out on the wrong person, I’m really sorry” Eddie moved down the bed to lie on his side as his hand continued rubbing up and down your back.
“Mhm and?” you looked at him as his face was now level with yours “And..” he breathed fighting a roll of his eyes, he knew what you were doing “I just thought about you know if Ophelia or Roxette ever comes home with a boyfriend” “mhm” you coaxed him on “I wouldn't be that happy to know he was telling them what to wear” you broke out into a wide smug grin, even though there were a few more things to unpack about yesterday, an apology was all you needed for the moment.
“Yup” you popped the ‘p’ even more smug, this time Eddie did actually roll his eyes but a playful grin tugged at his lips. “But” Eddie’s face suddenly went serious “I would… appreciate if maybe you don't wear those kinds of outfits around, at least Billy in the future” he was feeling sheepish at his request. “In my defense” you pushed yourself up to lay your head on your crossed forearms “I didn’t actually know Billy was gonna be there” you grinned “also if I knew that, do you seriously think I would have worn that?” Eddie chuckled “Yeah ok no, that's true” another smug hum of approval. “Mmmm but why you gotta wear that stuff anyway” he started of with a hint of a whine “Who you tryna impress when you have a big hunky husband with the biggest dick you've ever set your eyes on” a loud snort rang through the room as you turned to lie on your side, letting Eddie scoot closer and wrap his arms around you.
“Maybe I’m tryna impress my boss, ya know get myself a sweet promotion, or maybe that so called big dick you pride yourself just isn't cutting it anymore” you nuzzled your face into his bare chest as it vibrated with laughter “Well first of all you are the boss, hate to break it to ya butchya’ can’t really get promoted babe, second whatchu’ talkin’ ‘bout woman, just last morning you were drooling over it” you rolled your eyes as a big amused smile spread across your face.
“Well now you're just lying, I was not drooling”
“Oh Eddie! Oh Eddie god! Oh my god! AAUUH Ugh! Your cock is so big oh my goood! Fuck Eddie yes! Yes! YEEES!” Eddie's voice turned into an awfully high pitched imitation of a girl's voice as he whispered as to not let the girls hear, whole body shaking with you in his grasp to get his point across further.
“Oh my god shut up!” you clasped a hand around his mouth which Eddie easily pulled away to kiss at your knuckles “I’m getting a divorce” you giggle as you cozy up to Eddie.

There aren’t enough TOTK comes back to the Chain fics out there so I figured I would write one. Hurt/Comfort, some angst, and some self-worth doubts. TOTK Link needs a hug tbh. Also, This is a Zelda slander fic, though I don’t directly hate her she kinda gets on my nerves in totk. MY BOI IS JUST SO TIRED LET HIM SLEEP PLZ.
Weariness and Worth
He was just so damn tired. He tried to be patient. He tried to put on the “Hero Façade”. But his resolve had begun to splinter with each passing moment alongside the princess.
He dragged his feet to the nearest cooking pot as Zelda strode purposefully up the Lookout Landing staircase. As soon as she got her wits about her after falling from the sky, she vehemently insisted that Purah is the first one she needed to see. It had only been a few hours since he had dragged her out of that lake, his body aching from his fight against the literal incarnate of evil, and the first thing she focused on was how she was home. How she needed to talk to Purah. How she needed a change of clothes. How she, who was a dragon for 10,000 years thank you very much, would like a good, hearty, home cooked meal, so Link, could you whip something up while I talk to Purah, please and thank you? He sighed, and all but collapsed at the edge of the fire, eyes starting to close of their own accord. The others in Lookout Landing all but ignored him, the Princess taking up all the attention while she smiled and waved as the individuals around her practically worshiped the ground she walked on.
“You look pretty worn out there son,” the elderly stablemaster chuckled, startling Link out of his stupor. This old man was the only one not rushing to greet the princess, and is instead settled a couple yards away from the cooking pot, his gnarled walking stick leaning against the inside of his knee. Link did his best to give him a smile, but only came up with a strangled-looking grimace. In the very least, he was grateful somebody at least acknowledged him. The stablemaster sighed.
“If only I was younger, maybe I’d have a chance with the young lady. I used to be something of a hero myself back in the day. Now all I got are my horses and these old bones!” He laughed, rapping a knuckle against his knee. “You are one lucky young man!”
Link’s grimace turned into a scowl. Yet again was he fooled into thinking someone cared about him. How naive of him. He stood and turned away from the old man, taking the Purah Pad from his hip. After stoking the fire, he decided on meat and rice balls. However while flicking absentmindedly through the Purah Pad for ingredients, he felt a very deep, sharp ache slam into his ribs. The pain gnawed at him like a wild beast, quickly buckling his knees and knocking the wind out of his lungs as his butt hit the ground. He gingerly felt around his chest, and came to the conclusion that becoming a dragon’s chew toy probably wasn’t the healthiest thing for ribs. He chuckled darkly. At least his shining sense of humor survived. The amusement was short lived, however, and tears pricked the corner of his eyes when he realized he used all his healing potions during the fight against Ganondorf, and that nobody, not even the stablemaster a stride away, cared enough to come to his aid. Everyone was so enthralled with that Princess. He fought the urge to bury his face in his arms and cry because he’s the Hero, the Chosen One, the Sworn Protecter of the Crown. Instead, he gathered himself quietly, stood, clipped the Purah Pad back to his hip, and hobbled out the southern gate without barely a glance towards the gathered crowd.
It had been an hour when he finally stopped walking, or rather, when his legs gave out and he flopped to the grass. The sun was just touching the western edge of the world, dew and darkness creeping into Hyrule Field as crickets began to sing. He knew he should go somewhere safer, somewhere where the wolves and the monsters wouldn’t catch his scent, but he could hardly keep his eyes open, and the smell of the earth and grass was so encompassing that he couldn’t bring himself to care about the danger. So instead, he closed his eyes and peacefully listened to the sounds of the coming night. That is, until his thoughts caught up to him. Coward, they called him. Abandoning duty for some pitiful, self-absorbed notion that he should be recognized, awarded, for accomplishing that for which he was destined to accomplish. These thoughts swirled through his head and screamed in his ears until he thought he would be deafened by the voices themselves.
That is, until the familiar and oh-so-welcome sound of time and space being torn open met his ears. Link blearily stumbled to his feet, and was met with the sight of a portal suspended in air just to his right. It couldn’t be. It shouldn’t be. He’s Link, he doesn’t get this type of fortune in his life. He felt like he could cry as he tripped over his feet and fell just a step away from the entrance, the burn in his side stealing away his breath. He only paused for a moment as he considered what this meant. He would disappear again, the people of Hyrule clueless as to where he went. Zelda clueless as to where he went. He bit back a bitter smile. She’ll just have to find him this time. Perhaps it was cruel, but he found that he couldn’t bring himself to care. So, on his hands and knees he dragged himself to the very edge and lurched through the swirling colors.
It was so warm, so gentle, so peaceful to just lie floating in the darkness. This didn’t feel like the icy cold waters of the shrine of resurrection, nor was it similar to the dark and damp cave he woke up in on the sky islands. No, this felt like a warm, thick wool blanket wrapped itself around his body, a soft embrace. Perhaps it was the downy feathers of the soft bed in Rito Village. Or maybe, Link mused, this was the water bed at the Seabed Inn in the Zora Domain. Sidon had spoke about a warming technology for the beds Kayden was trying to develop. Whatever it was, Link wanted to stay in it forever. Unfortunately, this peace was cut short.
“Cub? Wild, please look at me.” A familiar voice cut through the fog as he started to come around. His body changed from warmth to and almost refreshingly cool, as if aloe had been spread over a burn. A gentle magic encompassed him, one that was similar to Mipha’s, though less like a bubbling stream and more like that of the sun in the deep woods. He sighed, and snuggled further into the comfort that called to him. “Cub. CUB. Link!” Something tickled his nose, and it quickly pulled him away from soft darkness and into an irritating light. He blinked his eyes open all the way and was met with the welcome sight of a face donning a single black mark upon his forehead.
“Twi?” He muttered, voice raspy from lack of use.
“Oh, Wild, what happened to you?” Twilight asked, voice thick with emotion. Wild opened his mouth to reply before Twilight shook his head. “It doesn’t matter right now. All that matters is that you’re okay.”
“Damn right. You fell through that portal and straight into Time’s lap. You’re lucky he wasn’t wearing his armor. You would’ve ended up with a concussion to add to your broken ribs!” Several chuckles came from the group, and a hearty laugh rang from Warriors. Hyrule, with his hands alighted on Wild’s side, looked pleased with his joke. Twilight merely shook his head and brushed his hand through Wild’s bangs. Wild had a thought to bat the hand away, but the worrying felt so good, so needed, that he found himself leaning into the touch, and, as Twilight continued his ministrations, Wild couldn’t help the tears that began to leak from the corner of his eyes for a second time that day. He brushed them away quickly and palmed his eyes.
“Sorry. M’fine,” he said gruffly, “Help me get up please.”
Twilight opened his mouth to protest, but Wild was already trying to shuffle himself out of Time’s lap when large hands, one on his forehead and the other on his shoulder, gently pushed him back down.
“Rest, Wild. You have no need to push yourself now. Your family is here to care for you,” Time’s voice rumbled from his chest, soft but demanding.
“But—”
“No arguing.”
Wild relented, and settled back into Time’s embrace, eyes feeling heavier than he would like to admit. Though despite the welcoming tendrils of sleep that curled around his consciousness, he couldn’t find it within himself to give in, not yet.
“What’s the matter, Cub?” Twilight still knelt next to him and Time while the others had begun to set out their bedrolls. Wild merely shook his head.
“It’s just-” he swallowed, “I’m afraid if I fall asleep, everyone will be gone when I wake up,” he whispered, embarrassment turning his head and closing his eyes so the others couldn’t see his face. “That always happens to me.”
He shouldn’t be saying this. He’s the Hero. The Savior of Hyrule. He doesn’t get to show weakness. Wild doesn’t want to open his eyes and see what surely must be disappointment on Time’s face, or disgust in Twilight’s eyes. Only a gentle warmth along his side breaks him from his thoughts. He looks down hesitantly and is met with the wide eyes of Wind, who has taken residence tucked along Wild’s hip, an arm thrown across his chest. The youngest gave him the biggest smile he could muster.
“It’s okay to be scared. I promise I’ll stay right here until you wake up in the morning. Even if you snore,” Wind said, and snuggled closer into his side. Time shifted, lying down close as Twilight tucks his pelt under Wild’s head.
“We all will,” the eldest reassured. It was only then Wild allowed himself a small smile. The doubts still ate at him, but they were lessening in their ferocity. The tiredness he felt before settled deep in his bones, an exhaustion so deep it slowed his breathing and finally closed his eyes, and finally, finally, he could sleep.

Heyy me again so about the creepypasta thing, I just wondered if you can do Ben drowned with a gen z reader platonically? It's okay if your uncomfortable doing it ><
Ben drowned x gen z!reader (platonic!)
not uncomfortable at all! love that im getting ben drowned requests since i enjoy him a lot and kind of want to write for him more; just strictly platonic ..which reminds me, i need to draw him again soon! gonna answer this then take a break and get back to requests yipe!
Tumblr media
admin is still sold on the idea of ben being confined to electronics most of the time so i can easily see him gaining access to your devices so he can pester you whenever he wants; though this may get a little annoying since youre... well still alive! you have a life
whether or not the reader is a creepypasta themselves or is a normal person is up to you! i think both can work, though i must say the idea of the reader being just some random person is really funny. like can you imagine? you get some haunted virus but the ghost is chill an you guys become friends
i do think ben can only mess with devices, i dont think he can mess with like. any internet browser stuff.... which segways me to my next idea; the og creepypasta came out in 2010, majoras mask came out in 2000, so putting it in the middle lets say ben died in 2005.. bro has missed a lot. youre going to have to fill him in on a lot of stuff, and boy let me tell you hes going to be going nuts
tell him about the new legend of zelda games. i think he would be hyped. throwing admins hc of ben being sick and tired of LOZ due to being trapped in the game out the window, admin needs this boy to get joyous!
he probably pesters you and asks you about the dumbest shit, does it on purpose because he thinks its funny
sometimes you guys play video games together, bro is absolutely astounded by how far games have come since he passed away. i think he would go insane over five nights at freddys. fill him in on the lore
going back on the video game stuff and playing together, just know that hes going to break the game and cheat + hes a sore loser, soooooooo...
do you think sometimes he comes and tries to spend time with you more and more over time because hes been stuck for years and hasnt really had many people to talk to? like yeah hes an angry spirit, but even angry spirits deserve friends!!!
ponders
probably messes with you by messing with your recordings if youre trying to make a video/tiktok/reel/what have you
probably interjects his own texts into your posts, never really says anything harmful, just messes with spelling or adds dumb messages
honestly its not your SM account/blog, its yalls shared account/blog now/j
stuck with old 2000s humor but i think he would absolutely love present day humor and how unhinged its gotten, though quick warning hes going to start quoting stuff
definitely quotes the sticking out your gyatt thing, hes going to drive you insane with it and hes going to laugh at you
do not play roblox tycoons with him hes going to bully small children
you guys play a horror game together on roblox and you can hear him freaking out through the speakers (likely using an old device for him so youre not fighting for control over one device)
absolutely DEVASTED when you tell him club penguin shut down
just know hes punching the metaphorical wall
on the rare chance ben is able to pull himself into the real world for a brief period of time, you guys probably do the same stuff hes just physically there for a short time!
make him touch grass while hes out, bro hasnt touched grass in nearly 20 years. this isnt even a haha "hes chronically online" joke, he hasnt actually touched grass in years due to circumstances
closing this with a hit of angst that made me go :( but imagine that it starts out as you guys being around the same age (well... close enough, since ben doesnt age anymore due to being a ghost) but overtime, you obviously grow up and have less and less time for him and :(
like owie
"what happened to us? we used to be best friends?" audio but its you two SOBS AND CRIES

The Art of Beauty ~ Post-BoTW Zelink
words: ~900
read on ao3
“Your hair’s getting long.”
Link’s eyes flutter open, drawn by the words from the soft lull of his meditation. It was something that Zelda had recommended he try after the Calamity, when he couldn’t sleep through the night and was restless all day. It helps. Clears his mind, helps him focus. He thinks about Zelda, or the comfort of the Gerudo sun, or nothing at all. It’s nice.
Do you like it? Link signs. He tips his head back, smiling as the princess comes into view upside-down. She matches his expression, impossibly elegant.
“I do.”
There’s no school today– the children are allowed the weekend to play and so Zelda is too, the duties of teaching briefly forgotten. She sits down behind Link and curls the ends of his hair around soft fingers.
“I do believe it’s longer than mine.” She laughs, bright and easy. Her hair is cut short now. She had cut it after moving to Hateno, eager to rid herself of the symbol of royalty and opt for something more practical. Link had helped her. This new style falls in a gentle frame around her face, barely brushing the line of Zelda’s jaw. She tucks it behind her ears or braids it into a band around her head when she wants it out of the way– Link likes it best loose. When she’s just woken up in the morning and it falls over her face, glowing with sunlight. Sometimes she’s so beautiful he can’t even bear to look at her.
“It’s lovely.” Again, her words draw him from thought– she’s awfully good at that.
Link feels his cheeks flush, warm and sunny, lips quirking up into a smile as he casts his gaze down to a small patch of wildflowers in front of him.
“Thank you, Princess.”
Absently, as if she doesn’t quite notice what she’s doing, Zelda begins to gather honey blonde strands of Link’s hair and weave them together into intricate little braids that cascade down to the tops of his shoulders. She doesn’t fasten any of them, letting the plaits trail off loosely at the ends.
Link doesn’t even notice that his eyes have fallen closed. Zelda’s hands are deft and sure, trained in the art of beauty. She touches him like he’s a delicate thing. Her hands card through soft hair and her fingertips brush ever so lightly against his scalp, like some sort of worship. It makes Link want to cry. She has shown him impossible kindness, has never once wavered in her reverence. Perhaps the only one close to him, now, for whom that is true.
“Why don’t you wear your hair up more often?” Zelda asks gently, working sections into a braid that follows the curve of Link’s hairline above his ear. “It looks so beautiful.”
Link feels his cheeks begin to flush, the heat of the sun nothing compared to the warmth of her compliments. Not used to it, he signs, almost embarrassed, don’t know how to make it look nice.
Zelda’s careful, practiced movements never falter. She begins to join two braids at the back of his head, a perfect golden circlet. “Your mother never showed you?”
Link thinks better than to shake his head, humming a small dissent.
“Well, it’s not too late,” Zelda announces. She picks a small flower from the ground next to them, a little blue blossom that mimics the color of Link’s eyes, weaving its stem through the braid. “I can teach you.” Another flower is plucked from the grass to adorn Link’s hair. “I know my hair’s quite short now, but it should still be long enough to learn.”
Link’s eyes widen. The two of them had slept in the same bed every night since the Calamity. They share every meal, travel the world together, tend to each others’ wounds– yet still, the simple idea of braiding her hair makes the breath leave his lungs. He has to take a deep breath before even thinking of responding.
“Yes, please.” Link swallows, his heart suddenly pounding, the flush on his cheeks only growing darker as Zelda laughs.
“I’m sure you’ll be very good.” Zelda reaches around to press a soft hand to Link’s cheek and encourage him to turn towards her. He follows the gentle direction obediently, eyes wide and face warm. The corners of Zelda’s eyes crease with smile lines. Link can’t wait to watch them grow constant with age.
She beams at him, thumb tracing a soft arc over her knight’s cheekbone.
“I think it suits you.” Zelda leaves no room for argument.
Link can’t even summon his voice to say thank you. He signs it instead, hands more sure than his voice could possibly be.
Zelda lets her hand drift away from his face after a few moments. She lets out a sigh and falls back into the grass next to Link, smile quirking into mischief as she tugs on the back of his tunic to persuade him to join her.
It works, of course.
Link lays back alongside her and lets his eyes drift shut once more. The pleasant buzz of Zelda’s touch still plays on his skin, and he feels his heart skip a few beats when she reaches over to lace her hand in his. Not quite an embrace— just a few fingers tangled together, childish and sweet. He could stay like this forever, he figures, sun-warm and happy with her.
At least a few years should suffice.

Seeing the Signs
My fic for @silentteal for the @loftwingletters for the @zelinkcommunity loftwing letter exchange!
.....
Link dropped to one knee with an audible hiss of pain as he defeated the last bokoblin, panting and resting his weight on his sword which was planted firmly in the grass.
No, no no no, Zelda thought, as she sprinted to catch up to him. Hylia, not again. He's hurt again and it's my fault, please don't let him die! The shrine of resurrection is gone, I can't do anything!
“Link,” she cried out, dropping to her knees and sliding the last few feet from the speed of her sprint. “I'm so sorry! Where are you wounded? I'll take care of you.”
Link looked up with a smile, brushing the hair out of his eyes, and Zelda's heart made a weird swooping motion like a Rito aflight.
“Don't worry, Princess,” he signed. “It's just a pulled muscle. I lost my footing in the wet grass and tweaked something in my leg.“
All the tension left Zelda at once, and she wasn't sure whether to laugh or yell at her reckless knight. She settled for saying in a stern, stubborn voice, ”Well any wound can still be dangerous. You will let me tend to it immediately.“
Link laughed, an almost-tinkling, melodic laugh that for some reason always made her think of fairy children deep in a forest. ”Yes, your highness,“ he signed teasingly, and she glared at him.
She set about removing first aid supplies from her backpack. Bandages, cloth made adhesive with chu-chu jelly, a balm made of monster parts that eased inflammation.
She could feel Link's intense blue eyes on her as she applied the balm with a firm but gentle touch. She wasn't sure if the heat she felt in her cheeks was from his sky-blue stare or from the little thrills as her fingers brushed his leg. Strange, the balm didn't have any electric-elemental ingredients to her knowledge - though really, she knew it wasn't that. For some reason, she thought suddenly about the hylian sign lessons that he had given her pre-calamity, the way his fingers had felt like so many fairy wings on hers as he had carefully corrected her signs.
She then took the bandages and adhesive cloths and methodically wrapped the injury to give it support, before finally raising her eyes to meet Link's. To her surprise, he was as red as she was.
The silence hung in the air between them, somehow as fraught as the atmosphere before a storm, yet warm and comfortable as a home.
Zelda realized her hands were still on the completed wrap, and cleared her throat as she hastily removed them. As the silence broke, Link almost looked disappointed, as if he had hoped for her to... say something? Do something?
”You are not to fight any monsters until that muscle is healed, do you understand?“ Zelda said, her words falling over each other in their haste to leave her throat. ”That's what we brought along an additional guard for.“
Link nodded, still giving her that unreadable look. She stood, brushing down the now sodden and grass-stained front of her leggings, and offered him her hand to help him up.
As he stood, she held onto his hand for a minute longer, then abruptly threw her arms around him, clasping the back of his head with one hand and gripping the back of his tunic in the other balled fist. ”I thought I'd lost you again,“ she half-murmured, half-sobbed into the hair above his ear.
Link hesitated, then hugged her back tightly, his arms sturdy and unyielding as the Deku tree itself.
As Zelda finally drew back, the hand that was behind his head lingered, coming to rest in a caress on his cheek. His azure eyes were as warm and bright as a summer afternoon, as he brought up one hand to cup hers. She paused, not wanting the moment to end.
“Do you trust me?” the other hand came up to sign, startling her.
Her eyebrows knit together as she started to pull her hand back. “Of course I do! If this is about asking you to let others fight, I -“
He caught her hand as she pulled it away, interlacing his fingers with hers. The words died in Zelda's mouth as all her breath seemed to desert her.
Link stepped forward, slowly, as if he was trying not to spook a wild horse. One hand came up to alight - trembling almost imperceptibly - on her own cheek, and he closed most of the distance between them. Their faces inches apart, she understood that he was giving her the choice of what to do.
She moved the last few inches, blossoming into a kiss. Oh Hylia, Din Farore and Nayru, this is what she had been wanting. The last of the realization that he had been waiting for her to come to him so that she could be the one to make the choice, after a lifetime of being subject to other people's desires, melted away into the sensation of him. Her whole awareness melted away into soft lips, the smell of sweat and horse lather and leather, the feel of home.
She was brought back to the world around them when a loud noise arose from a little bit away. They both jumped apart, Link sheepishly grinning and rubbing the back of his head, as their guard applauded and cheered (with more than a few wolf-whistles) at them from a rise a couple hundred feet away.
She looked down at their hands, and then interlaced her fingers with her knights’, tracing the line of his arm up to see him gently smiling at her in a way that made her dizzy. She leaned into him, then yelped slightly as he stumbled. Somehow, she'd already forgotten his injury.
Poking him in the ribs, she said “Now you're going to get some rest.” Ducking under his arm, she helped him start limping back to their entourage, as the captain and lieutenant of the guard rode their way leading their horses.
She then recalled a memory she'd long forgotten. Over a century ago, Link had taught her the sign that he had helped introduce when silent princesses were discovered. She blushed as she remembered the other sign she'd had trouble distinguishing it from - “I love you.”
.....
If you have an AO3 and it's okay, I'd love to post in on there as a gift to your account there as well, Teal!

Chapter Twenty-five: Just a kiss (written for Zelinktines24 day 25 prompt)
Read below or HERE
Link kisses Zelda, and it’s not just a kiss to chase away all their hurt and regret, like the one they shared on the rooftop garden. It’s a kiss that promises a new beginning, brighter and better than the one before. Zelda’s palms, pressing against the center of his chest, emit a heat he feels through the layers of his tunic, and the blackness behind his eyelids blooms red. He knows if he opens his eyes, her hands will be glowing bright.
He doesn’t possess magic as she does, he can only relinquish to her the two things of his that have always been hers to take. He pours the essence of his being into the deepening kiss, offering her his heart and soul like a prayer. Letting her know that he’s hers, drinking in that she’s his when her hands slide through his hair.
Her delicate fingers, tugging on the long strands, send pleasant tingles rippling down his neck and spine. His hands slip from her face, to her shoulders, along the velvety soft skin of her arms, to her slender waist, pulling her closer. To be holding her in his arms is a dream he never wants to wake up from. He needs her as surely as he needs air to breathe. Without her he’s nothing but a nameless swordsman aimlessly walking the earth. She’s the sunshine of his days and the moonbeams and starlight of his nights.
They are two sides of the same coin, destined to always be together–never truly parted even if separated by time and space. The taste of the wildberry crepes they had for dessert lingers on Zelda’s tongue and lips, testifying she’s here–human, alive and well. Link’s mind becomes a whirlwind of emotion–a deep-seated sense of love and affection for her that surpasses logical thought takes root. And this time he welcomes it without apprehension, taking the refuge her sweet lips and tender touch offer. She completes him as none other ever has or will.
A soft breeze whispers through the trees and grass, rustling leaves, and carrying the promise of a gentle spring rain. Pressing one hand against the small of her back, his other slips though her silken locks, cupping the back of her head and stirring up the faint scent of her floral soap.
It’s nearly sensory overload, leaving his head spinning and feeling as if he’s floating on air. She’s magic and light and all things beautiful and bright.
A tiny discontented sigh escapes Zelda’s swollen lips when Link forces himself to break away. Her hair is a halo of gossamer strands glowing in the moonlight, and her glittering veridian eyes look back at him with open adoration that steals Link’s breath away. She’s the lovliest thing Link has ever seen, and more precious to him than life itself.
Resting his forehead against hers, their breath mingles enticingly, and Link opens himself, allowing his love for her to finally consume him. He tenderly traces the contours of her ear as he tucks a strand of hair behind the elegantly pointed tip.
“I never stopped loving you,” he whispers, kissing the pulse point on her neck just below her jaw.
Her eyelashes flutter against his cheeks, leaving faint traces of the tears that cling to them. “Nor I, you.” Zelda’s soft breath in his ear reignites the flame of desire within him that’d been smothered for too long.
Link feels like he’s been given sustenance after nearly starving to death, and surely he’ll never have his fill. When she caresses his face, and pulls him closer, he gives in completely, and kisses her again.
Thank you to @lovesickflora for making time beta this!!🫶

A Huge Reward (Part 2 of A Huge Favor, BOTW Link x Reader)
WHHOOOOOOO I'M BACK!!! But no seriously... I know it has been a while... I just started my new job a few months ago and I've been trying my best to know my way around this new life and writer's block had been kicking my ass. But as I promised in my last post, this is my part two of my other story A Huge Favor. It seemed like that one did so well that I made a follow up, so I hope you all enjoy. I've got more ideas in mind so be on the look out. Also I'm like... lowkey lonely on here so... feel free to message me any time (just make sure you are over 18 tho cuz yall young ones are weird and mean for no reason like stop hurting other people and get mental help like-), I like to talk and share my random thoughts to people... but be warned... I am FAR from normal... but this IS Tumblr so... is any of us are?
Anyways this is an gender neutral reader x BOTW Link... however if you want, this can work with all of the legal Links (NOT WIND) if you only focus towards the end. With that being said, girls, boys, and everyone in between, have fun reading!!
#TW: Anal sex, pinning, arms tied, Link being kind of mean but not really, MDI!!! GO READ A BOOK OR TOUCH SOME GRASS!!!#
You were over it, tired and aching all over, but he just wouldn’t stop himself. You tried to keep your head down, you couldn’t bear to see the site of yourself at this moment. Of course, Link wasn’t having that, he wanted you to see yourself. He brought a hand to your chin and forced your head upwards, just enough for your eyes to see the mirror. You were a lot worse than you thought at first. Shivering, panting, whining… your shirt drenched in your own saliva and sweat. You looked as if you had just come inside from being in Gerudo town all day in regular clothing. You looked terrible… how could you let yourself get to this point.
After helping the hero out with his little situation, he wanted to return the favor. Link started out by holding on to you tightly, attacking your neck and shoulders with all the wet kisses and bites he could provide. He even made it to the inside of your pants. But before he was able to do much, the Princess’ voice could be heard from a mile away. Wondering where on earth her appointed knight was. As much as you didn’t care for the princess at the start, you were more than happy to hear her voice right at that moment. It seemed that Link understood the danger that this situation could bring, so he ended up letting you go to fix yourself up, as did he. Once the two of you were presentable, you were led right back to your “holding cell” as Link returned to duty as the princess’ escort. While you didn’t dare to look back at the hero, you could tell that his vision continued to look at you, and only you.
The days after that encounter were spent on you trying to use every excuse in the book to stay away from the knight at all cost. And fortunately for you, you didn’t have to do much. Zelda was in the process of traveling to do some research on the guardians, and Link was instructed to go with her at all times. So oftentimes, you would be left with some random knight who could really not care about your existence one way or the other. And while you did enjoy having “most” of your time to yourself, you couldn’t help but miss the hero of Hyrule to an extent, and part of your soul even hoped that he would come back from his trips sooner rather than later. Moral of the story here… be careful what you wished for.
You tried holding in your moans as Link tugged your tangled arms against himself, filling you up even more. You couldn’t bear to look at yourself any longer and begged him to move you away from the mirror, and so he did. Within a few seconds Link had you bent over forward across your bed and he continued to keep himself inside you. You could only take in a few small breaths before the knight began to go to town again. His hands were placed on the side of your thighs to keep you in place as his movements got faster. Your vision kept going in and out as you felt your body being moved forward and backwards, over and over without your control. How he was able to keep his momentum going after five whole hours was beyond you. With nothing to hold on to on the account of your arms being tied behind your back, you decided to pass the time by closing your eyes.
You tried to put your mind to something else, but it was hard to do. Link’s thrusts weren’t just penetrating your behind, but your brain as well. This was going to be a lot harder than you thought. You just wanted to wait it all out, but would he ever get tired, was he going to just milk himself dry by the end of the night? Each second that passed felt like he was just getting deeper and deeper, how could Link be doing so… well? There was no way that you could be enjoying this. Not even with all of those fun and wet dreams that you’ve been having ever since doing that so-called favor. Being squeezed so tightly by the knight’s firm arms, having your skin being marked with his mouth, abusing every inch of your-
It seems like your body likes to tell on itself a lot, and Link apparently caught on to the signs. Your eyes shot wide open as you felt your position being changed. You groaned as you were pushed onto your side, with Link moving up from behind. He then took one of your legs and lifted it up to allow himself to gain better control. Once he was satisfied with how he was positioned inside of you, Link wasted no time in moving his hips up against your rear. This sudden change in posture mixed with the harsh thrusts were just enough for your mind to become static. Loud and uncomfortable whines and moans were leaving from your mouth each time your special spot was reached. You tried to hang on to something to keep you grounded, but with how tight Link had your hands tied, it was no use. He didn’t want you to keep a sense of control, he wanted you to unravel underneath him. To have your mind be crumbled and fall right into his hands… The Hero of Hyrule would never dare to admit this to anyone else, but he loved having you like this… and not to anyone else’s surprise, so did you.
It didn’t take long for Link to notice your whines for him to continue. How you were practically drooling over the thought of being filled with him… it was too much for you to bear. You shouted as loud as you could in pleasure as Link made his last and final attempt to push you over the edge. With his hand already holding your leg in the air, he pushed it back towards your chest as he made his last harsh thrusts. Before you could process what Link had done, your limit had been reached. You swore you would have broken all of the Kingdom’s glass stained windows with your cries of pleasure. All of your muscles tightened up around Link as he reached his climax as well. Your mind being turned into jelly as you felt your walls being coated with his thick and overwhelming liquids of lust. One would’ve liked to think it was out of love, but even in your drunken state, you knew better than that.
After feeling like your body was on fire for an entire day, you slowly began to come to your senses. As your vision started to clear up, so did your awareness level… How on earth was Link about to get your leg up this far? You didn’t even know that you could do this yourself. Either you were more flexible than you thought, or he actually broke you and the pain hasn’t registered yet. A few minutes later, Link let your leg go back to a more normal position for you as you shifted your body to lay on your back. With your eyes closed, you attempted to calm your breathing to a relaxed pace. As you did so, you felt a soft kiss against your cheek, stunning you for a moment. Your senses were regained when you heard your door slammed, not enough to scare you, but enough to make your body jolt. Yea… you were certainly going to wake up sore tomorrow.

The Flowers Rage
“Hey Zelda,” Link called from his spot outside their house in Akkala. Both he and Zelda were lying side by side on their backs by the side of the house, their legs both pointing toward Death Mountain.
Both of them were bathing in the gentle early morning sun, it felt like warm and gentle kisses that covered their exposed skin.
There had been a long, comfortable silence between them following a welcome discussion concerning each of their students back at Hateno Village. They talked about each of their personalities, their likes, dislikes, their quirks.
But then came a moment where there was nothing left to say, so they simply didn’t say anything, letting the gentle rush of wind fill the silence for them.
Zelda’s eyes were closed, one would think she’d already fallen asleep baking in the soft sunlight.
“Hmm? She mumbled sleepily, deep within her throat.
Link smirked at the sky, his eyebrows rose slightly with mischief. “Wanna bet?”
The playfulness behind his tone caught Zelda’s attention, her eyes shot open but immediately shot close as the bright sun assaulted her eyesight.
“What is the bet?” Zelda asked curiously, almost afraid of what Link might be conspiring.
Link’s back shot upright, sitting up, pressing his hands on the grass behind him to hold him up. He looked down at her using a moment to simply stare at her pretty face, smiling. He chuckled gently.
“A challenge,” Link winked. Still, his tone and the little naughty glint in his eyes didn’t do anything to bring her comfort.
Zelda narrowed her eyes. “Go on…”
“Whoever can paraglide to Tarrey Town the fastest gets to make the other person do a dare.” He was already on his feet, as if Zelda had agreed to the notion already.
“What are you planning? You seem so sure you’re going to win, what if I win?” Zelda looked up at him, who had his arms in a stretching motion, like was getting ready for the race.
“I’m not planning anything…” He mumbled, not able to meet her eyes.
Zelda rose to her feet, groaning, for she hadn’t really used them all morning. She gave both her ankles a quick shake to get some feeling back into it.
Zelda grinned, walking to Link and putting a hand on his shoulder, raising an eyebrow.
“What is this about?” She demanded,
“Nothing, I just want to race and have some fun,” He put his hands up in the air above his head, feigning innocence.
“Well, In that case…” Zelda gave a long pause for effect, “Ready set go!” Zelda said quickly, and she turned on her heels towards the edge of the hill. Before Link was even able to move, Zelda was already off the edge, paragliding towards the village. She was giggling as she made her way down.
Link ran, quickly trying to catch up, still trying to process Zelda’s trickery on him. She was too smart for her own good and had tricked him at his own game.
“Hey! T-that’s not fair! You were supposed to wait for us both to go at the same time!” He yelled after her, jumping off the edge of the hill on his own, but Zelda was so far ahead of him that he knew he had no hope.
“Okaaaay slowpoke!” He heard distantly yelled back at him from her.
Link grumbled softly to himself as he watched Zelda’s feet touch the ground while he was still hanging in the air.
She snapped her paraglider away, turning around to face him as he touched down second. Giggling behind her hand. “So, what was it? Your bet, tell me once more?” She taunted him, with a large grin on her face.
“You get to give me a dare,” He mumbled, almost so that Zelda couldn’t hear, but she heard him alright.
“So... I get to tell you a dare then?” She prodded further, testing his buttons.
He glared at her, “ You cheated,” He crossed his arms across his chest, pouting his lips like a child.
“Did not, you were just slow”
“Hmph,”
“Okay, here is your dare. I dare you to go to Magda, the flower lady, and pluck a bunch of them and bring them to me. Oh you know how much I love flowers,” She added the last bit for extra effect.
Link’s jaw dropped open, his blood ran cold all over his body. “No, please. Don’t send me to Flowerblight Ganon, she hates me already, I won’t come back alive please,” Link fell to his knees, begging her dramatically.
Zelda merely laughed “Flowerblight Ganon?.” She snorted under her breath.
“Yes…. I mean that she’s a dark, evil entity, I swear to you, Zelda..”
Pulling him to his feet and again, showing no mercy. “A bet is a bet, and a dare is a dare. Now, go fetch me some pretty flowers from Magda would you? I’m in desperate need of them. And I’ll be watching to make sure they’re fresh from Magda don’t you worry,” She slid her body up his arm looking up at him with innocent eyes.
Link grunted, shaking her off his arm, seeing no other way out. “Fine. We’ll warp with the Purah Pad,’ He said, his voice was quiet now, knowing he was about to see the face of inevitable doom.
)()()()()()(
“Alright Link, I’ll be waiting right here, and don’t you even think about going to find flowers that aren’t Magda’s. ‘llI see everything from here.”
Both Link and Zelda arrived at Floret Sandbar by paragliding from Morok Shrine. It was a short distance to fly, and now they were perked on a gentle hill, where Zelda could easily oversee Link’s action as he followed through with the dare.
“Yeah yeah I got it, I won’t.” He was still gritting out every word through his teeth. He thought this whole thing was insanely prejudiced, this was his own game for the goddess’ sake! He was supposed to be daring Zelda. Not the other way around.
So here he was walking calmly up to the small square of purple wildflowers, eyeing each one, wondering which of the many would be the easiest to access.
There was the lady, hunched over the patch of flowers, as always. And the brown hair, green dress were giving him flashbacks that he’d rather not remember.
As he crouched down quietly, His heart was pounding in his chest, his stomach twisted, his palms were sweating. Goddesses he was scared.
It couldn’t be that hard. She seemed rather preoccupied with what she was doing, tending to her flowers, sooo if he was just inconspicuous enough, and simply bent down and swiped one away while she was busy…
“Hey!”
Link froze. Mid crouch.
“Just what do you think you’re doing?” A terrifyingly chilling voice spat at him coldly.
He winced in horror. He’d been caught.
He swore to himself and the goddess that he heard soft giggling coming from the hillside from behind him.
Link straightened up quickly, straightening out his shirt, and clearing his throat. “Oh. Um, I was just… uh. A-Admiring the wildflowers of course ma’am. T-they look very… Pretty,”
Magda narrowed her eyes at him, her hands resting firmly on her waist, she studied him crossly, causing him to shift on his feet nervously, his heart picking up its pace again.
“I’ve seen you before… It’s you, isn’t it?! The one who’s always showing up and slaughtering all these innocent beings for no good reason! First you step on them, then you cut them down… poor things. And then you tried to burn them down with your little contraption. These are living people with living feelings they don’t deserve to be mercilessly executed by heartless people like you! They’re shaking in fear, screaming out in pain everytime you hurt them or cut them, or step on them!” She sobbed loudly, tears really fell. Her heart, broken for her flowers.
“That’s what the flowers would be wailing if only they could wail.”
“They feel things like everyone else, they have lives worth living. I’m giving you a warning, don’t hurt them again.” Through her tears, Link could have sworn he could see malice or something that filled the woman’s eyes. And was she threatening him? He’d seen what she was capable of and that’s what scared him the most.
He turned around, looking at Zelda for mercy. She all but looked back down at him, shrugged, and smiled evilly at him.
“Hylia above,” He swore. He needed to strategize. Going straight for them wasn’t going to do.
He apologised briefly to the flower lady before ducking behind a large piece of rock and looking before the flower bed to see how he was going to pull it off. If only he could get in without her spotting him.
What if… he came up from behind her, then snatched a flower from his place behind her and ran. It was the only plausible plan, for at every other angle she’d see him.
He quickly changed out of his clothes, replacing it with the Sheikah Stealth Armour, to give him the best shot possible at getting the flowers.
He snuck around Magda, again, she seemed too preoccupied with her flower tending so that was the easy part. Once he was directly behind her, though not so close that he was breathing down her neck, he crouched down low, spying which one he wanted to take. Once the target had been acquired, he leaped forward with his feet and plucked it from the dirt then he planned to turn and flee as quickly as his feet would carry him back to Zelda.
But as he turned around to flee, he was met face-to-face with Flowerblight Ganon.
He yelped in surprise, his throat clawed at him with fear. How did she do it? Wasn’t she just…?
“You just killed an innocent soul!” She screamed in his face, she’d exerted so much force with her breath that his hair blew backward and his ears were in pain now.
She took a step forward, too close to him for his liking, forcing him to step back, leaning away from her as far as he could.
“How. Dare. YOU,” She growled, the fury was steaming off of her with each step forward she took which had him walking backward dangerously close to the riverbank behind him.
“How many times have I told you? They’re in pain! They hurt! They’re screeching as you pull them from the ground, their life source, their SUSTENANCE. Don’t touch us! Don’t step on us! Don’t hurt us!”
“That’s what they would be screaming if they could scream!”
Link looked up towards the hill, he could see Zelda rolling on the floor, laughing out loud uncontrollably as she watched the scene unfold.
Flowerblight Ganon looked down at his hand, which was holding onto the stolen flower.
“That was an innocent life you just took, their blood is in YOUR hands. This cannot go unpunished.” She closed her eyes as she said this, her voice was eerily calm for his liking.
Link gulped, how cryptic what was that supposed to mean?
“Behold! THE WRATH OF THE FLOWERS. This death will be avenged!” She screamed towards the sky. She charged forwards, her head rammed into his chest and Link fell backward, losing his balance… and into the water behind him.
“OOF!” He cried, winded by the sudden blow and he was now soaking wet to the bone in his skin-tight Sheikah armour. He fell into the rushing water with a loud SPLASH. And the current was taking him out towards the river. He panicked, he had to quickly get out.
With the now wilting flower in his hand, he swam back towards the shore. It wasn’t too hard, but he was still reeling from what he’d just seen happen.
As he was hauling himself over the river bank, he heard a familiar voice.
“Link! Did you get my flowers?” He looked up to see Zelda running down the hill towards him.
She was holding back a laugh as she approached him, She held out her hand to him offering to help him to his feet. He didn’t miss the way her eyes scanned all over his body, most likely because his now wet armor, which was already tight to begin with was practically outlining every small crevice of his body.
She stared at him for a moment, before bursting out into laughter once again. She laughed so hard that she had to hold onto his shoulder to support her as she doubled over to control herself.
“Link. I’m so sorry, but that. Was the funniest thing I think I’ve ever seen over millennia.” Zelda cackled, her face going red as she couldn’t properly breathe through her laughter.
Link, understandably didn't seem to find anything funny about it.
“Oh you poor thing you’re shivering, let us go back and dry you off. ” Zelda remarked sympathetically as he shivered on the spot. His arms crossed tightly over his chest to keep the warmth in. She tried to pull him by the arm but he didn’t move
Link looked at her for a long moment before holding his hand out to her. The purple, dying flower was in his hand.
“I-i got y-our f-flower,” He gritted out through his chattering teeth.
Zelda gasped, looking at the wilting flower, he’d done it, though at a great cost. She almost felt bad for making him do so. He did it for her.
“It’s perfect, I love it thank you,” She took the flower in her hands before pulling out the Purah Pad so they could warp back home.
)()()()()()(
Once they’d made it back home, Link went to dry himself off and change out of his soggy Sheikah armor while Zelda went to coax the fireplace inside so when Link was finished he could sit before it and warm up.
Zelda had pulled out a few snacks for them to enjoy while they sat and enjoyed the fireplace together.
Once Link was done changing, he quickly went outside to hang his wet clothes on a line and then he ducked back in to see Zelda sitting by the fireplace surrounded by several snacks. Waiting for him.
“Link, come. Join me.” She beckoned him over to her.
As he drew closer to where she sat, he noticed something, the purple flower, which was holding onto its last breath, had been placed on top of her left ear. He smiled. She looked good with it on, even if it was dying.
Zelda patted the spot beside her, indicating for him to sit there.
He sat, groaning as he lowered himself onto the floor, he shut his eyes, enjoying the warmth from the fire before him, sighing.
“I’m sorry for making you do that,” Zelda said softly, looking down. “I feel terrible,”
Link smiled gently. “Don’t be. It was all part of the game. The important thing is that you had a good laugh. I’m glad you got a kick out of that,” He chuckled.
Zelda merely nodded once, gazing up at him fondly.
He felt a tickle tug at his scalp. He looked to the side, finding Zelda toying with his wet hair.
He looked at her, confused.
“You have beautiful hair, you know? Albeit a bit messy, I’ll admit, but it reminds me of wheat. Tabantha Wheat. The smell, the colour…” She brought a lock of his hair to her nose, breathing in the scent, sighing.
Link didn’t know what to say. He didn’t know he had nice hair. But if the princess said so, then he supposed he did. He didn’t mind her fingers tangling themselves within his locks, he liked it. Her soft, gentle touch was bliss to him. He leaned into her touch unconsciously.
“May I braid it?” She asked softly, running all five fingers down the length of his hair.
“Sure,” He replied.
Zelda turned her body so she was somewhat behind him. She took a lock of his hair and twisted it, twisting again, then grabbing more hair and twisting it once more, repeating this process until she reached the bottom.
“Do you have your elastic?”
Link wordlessly pulled his blue elastic from his wrist, handing it to her.
“Thank you,”
Then she tied off her work down the bottom. Then, she took her flower from her ears and slid it on top of his ears.
She nodded, pleased with her work. “Perfect,” She sighed and moved back to her spot beside him. And rested her head on his shoulder.
There both of them sat, by the warm fire, in each other's embrace, surrounded by snacks.
And a wilting flower.

Also, there is no symbolism to the wilting flower lol, I just added it there for the aesthetic value of the story loll XD
I LOVED writing the characterization of Magda/Flowerblight Ganon, it was so funny and fun to write. Thank you for reading again! I hope you found this at least funny ahahahaa.

Homesick/Lovesick
A Link and Zelda reuniting fic
Tumblr media
Story below ⬇️
💙🩵💚💙🩵💚💙🩵💚💙🩵💚
"Oh, Link…I'm home."
Something in his eyes changed. Before, he'd looked like his mind hadn't caught up with the situation. His gaze was trained on her like a magnet. He'd seemed stunned.
This new expression was unreadable. He hadn't said a word to her. As she opened her mouth to ask if he was alright, he rushed to close the short gap between them and grabbed her face in his rough, trembling hands.
Link inhaled a sharp breath through his nose and kissed her lips like he was starved for them.
She was so shocked she didn't think to return the kiss; but she didn't even have to with the way he guided her head with his hands. Zelda raised her brows and her eyelids fluttered shut. She'd just slept for thousands of years and harnessed an unmatched power, so how was he making her so weak?
She barely twitched her lip and it seemed to electrify him. He turned his head, deepened the kiss, then dropped an arm to her waist and held up her head with the other.
Zelda inhaled and exhaled in time with him, sharing what seemed like a gasp of breath that they'd both held for eons of time. Zelda thought to raise her hands from hanging limp at her sides. She lightly brushed her fingers against his shoulders and hummed, ecstatic.
There was no thought to her movement. Her mind had been replaced with sunset fireflies, matching the orange and purple sky above that wasn't worth looking at even for a second.
"Mmh." She pushed him backwards; the softest touch. She may as well have sucker-punched him. He fell back, heedless of breaking his own fall. And only when his lips parted from hers did she feel the fiery heat coming off of his face.

The heat was quickly cooled. The pond that had broken their fall only minutes prior had been forgotten…It was still only just behind them.
Link's boots shot out from under him on the slick grass. He barely squeaked before they were both under water.
He was holding her so tight that she was helpless in the situation.
It was a delayed reaction, but he loosened his grip so that she could recover as they flailed towards the surface.
Zelda was the first to emerge. She saw Link swimming just below so she grabbed him and pulled him up beside her. How had they made it to the deepest point so quickly?
She nearly fell back beneath the water as she went into a coughing fit.
Poor Link helped her even while his head bobbed in and out of view.
They clawed to land and fell into the wet grass, their legs still soaking in the rather dramatic drop-off of the deep pond.
Zelda had spent a few seconds underwater, and had the presence of mind to hold her breath. She quickly recovered enough to breathe and she went into a fit of laughter.
Link lay sideways beside her, water still coming out of his nose and mouth while he shook.
Zelda could just barely breathe. She pushed back her wet hair and sat up, unable to quell her giggles even as she rubbed and patted Link's back. He shuddered and choked out a seemingly endless waterfall.
"Poor darling!" she croaked, her head falling to his side in her hysteria.
When Link got a gasp of air, he rolled onto his stomach and groaned.
Zelda continued rubbing his back.
"Darling," she shuffled forwards and rested her head against his shoulder. "Link, you must be exhausted. You only just finished fighting, didn't you?"
He barely nodded, eyes rolling shut. His face was squished adorably against the ground.
"You have the Purah Pad?"
He nodded again and sighed heavily.
Zelda nuzzled against his neck with a huge grin across her face.
"Then let's go. You deserve a long rest."
~fin~
Hope you enjoyed! I'm posting another old one. I wrote this like the day I saw the end of Totk so I needed this for myself 😂

Revalink Week: Bonus Day (TOTK)
Originally I wasn't going to write anything for this. I'd been doing my best to avoid spoilers and didn't want to so much as see the last trailer. (Most things I know about TOTK are against my will, lol.)
Alas, I got spoiled for one thing. So I wrote a very short fic during a 15 minute train journey 3 weeks ago and haven't touched it since.
Spoiler-tagged to help with blocklists, and in case this slips past your blocklist, full story is under the cut out of courtesy:
Characters: Link, Tulin. (Other characters mentioned, alluded to, or spoken around.)
--
“Do you think he’d be proud of me?”
“…Teba?” Link thought it rather more likely that he would be worried.
“Nuh-uh. I know I can made Dad proud. Even if he doesn’t think I’m ready yet. But…”
…Ah.
It had been quite some time since Link let himself face the regrets of the past. They had, after all, wanted him and Zelda to look forward, to the future.
“Nevermind,” Tulin said quickly, tilting his head in a grin. “It’s the village that matters. I want everyone to be safe and happy, so I’ve just gotta be strong enough to do that, right?”
With that, he darted ahead across the golden grasses, his swallow bow bobbing on his back.
Link watched him go. He thought of a diary he was never meant to read. Dreams that their architect only saw half-fulfilled. He’d been pleased to know his Flight Range still saw use, when Link told him. He’d been strangely quiet when Link mentioned how the Rito trained their sons to emulate him.
Tulin was the last successor of that lineage. Link had to make sure he returned safely home.
“…What do you think,” he murmured to the winds. They seemed to curl around him, the smallest whisper of a reply where once he’d felt fierce columns swirl. “I think you would’ve approved. …right?”
The winds slipped away into silence.

Fairy boys like playing with hair.
Hyrule and Time both absolutely love braiding hair and just being able to play with hair in general.
Time is very reserved about it, he only does it with Malone, and he used to fidget braid with his own hair when it was long, but he had to cut it because it kept getting snagged in his chainmail and armor. But often when one of the chain needs comfort and has turned to him for it sooner or later he ends up playing with their hair in some way as long as they're okay with it.
Hyrule however having much more fairy in his blood can not hide it. No one understands why he does this but they've all learned that it is inevitable and they can not escape it. Wild is the most child with it, especially if Hyrule is especially anxious that day he'll sit down and let Hyrule mess with his hair as much as he wants. Legend goes out of his way to keep all those cotton candy curls hidden in that hat but the second Hyrule does finally get ahold of him he absolutely melts.
When the first Zelda finally woke up she was to weak from having been asleep for so long. Her hair was extremely long and a lot to handle. But she trusted Hyrule enough to let him help her with it. Both Zeldas prefer his work over the royal hair dresser some days now that he's gotten really good at it because he's gentle.
Minish!Four is surprisingly meticulous about hair. Just like Hyrule no one really understands why. But it bugs him beyond understanding when some of his brothers end up getting their hair dirty and don't do anything about it. Hyrule and Wild are the worse with their hair getting all tangled up with twigs and grass and goddess knows what else because of rolling down hills or climbing into places they aren't supposed to. He's spent hours before trying to get all of the knots and things out of Hyrules unruly brown curls because despite how much the traveler does care about hair its just naturally a disaster.
Four is also always the one to help make sure the group all gets blood mud and anything else out of their hair especially before going into a village. Because if there's anything that shouldn't be there he will find it! But he will not let anyone touch his own hair. The single acception is Twilight but it is only when the big guy is helping him with his head aches, and Twilight is always careful not to get his hair tangled or tug at it.
Just in general wind loves playing with long hair because of his sister. So he understands the temptation!
At the start Warriors absolutely hates people touching his hair unless they're getting things out of it that he can't see or reach. But much like Four he'd let Twilight touch his hair if he had a headache. He slowly gets better with it as he grows closer with the group though.
Sky absolutely loves when people play with his hair. And he does know a bit of braiding because of his Zelda. But mainly he's just happy to sit there and let people do what they want with his. It'll put him straight to sleep sometimes especially when he's having a hard time sleeping.
Legend doesn't like it because he's used to being teased about the colors but he's got a lot of fluff hiding under that hat and it's one of the softer textures too. He just doesn't like people pulling at it in any way or poking fun so he prefers to snap at them per usual. But he can't say no to Hyrule. And Four and twilight are the only other ones he'll let near it.
Twilight has a bit of a sensitive scalp but like the dog that he is absolutely loves when people play with it. He just gets nervous when it's a length thats easy to grab. But once he trusts the chain and as long as they're gentle he doesn't mind it. None of the people in his village have very long hair at least not the people he's comfortably close with. So he doesn't know anything about braiding, but Uli has taught him how to do scalp massages that he has completely mastered so he's very gentle and loves petting other people's hair as much as he loves it when they do it with him.

This isn't skyloft (Sky)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Sky x reader
Rating: G
Summary: You end up finding the chain, but you also find your partner Sky, you have a nice catch up.
Genre: Fluff, reunion, romance
Warnings: None
-------
You aren't sure how you ended up here, just that you fell through a portal that reeked of evil. The world around you is not skyloft- or the surface Link had shown you...
Instead it's a field, covered in rolling hills and grass.
Well, you suppose you need to start looking for someone. At least you had been on patrol for the knight academy, dressed with chain armor under your uniform. And you have your sword and shield.
It isn't as if you're defensless.
You start walking towards what looks like the outline of a city.
You hear chatter, which makes sense it's roughly noon, people would be up.
"I dunno, Twi," Someone says, nearby, "Something feels up."
You see a group of men, and they all look armed to the teeth.
Well... That's not the most reassuring thing- but you can still ask a few questions.
"Excuse me? I'm a little lost where am I?"
The men turn, five in total.
One is has a scar across his eyes and face markings to boot, in heavy armor.
One has a pelt and face markings on his forehead.
One has scars all over the left side of hisbface and neck, long hair pulled back.
One is wearing a blue scaf.
And the fifth- has a streak of pink and wears what looks like the most countrified boots you've ever seen.
"Just outside Hateno Village." Says the one with all the scars.
"Okay... And that would be where?"
"South Eastern Hyrule."
"Hyrule?" You ask, confused and definitely a far way from home.
"Yes. The kingdom of hurule."
"I see... I really am lost- okay. Thank you all-"
Another man approaches from behind the others, sandy hair all too familiar. hHs clothes are from Skyloft- and signs point to one thing.
"Link!" Ypu call to the newcomer, "Hylia above - is that you?!"
All five others share a look.
The new comer- Link rushes forwards, "(Y/n)?!"
"I missed you. Oh my goddess!" You smile.
Link picks you up and spins you when he reaches you, pressing your foreheads together when he sees you down.
"What are you doing here?" He asks.
"I fell through a portal- it felt all evi. But you're here! I missed you!"
He moves one hand from around you to your face, cradling it gently. He smiles as you lean into the touch, foreheads still touching.
"You should be at home. Finishing knight school."
"I didn't mean to fall through the ground, Link."
"Sky- who is this?" Asks the tallest of the men around you.
"Oh- right." Link- Sky?- pulls away, hand still on your waist, "This is (Y/n), my partner. (Y/n) These are other chosen heroes. "
"Oh." You say, suprisdd and sad that they're all here. "Well... Nice to meet you all."
They all give you their name- or nickname as you suspect.
And then you're being whisked away by Sky, told that you're going out for dinner, that the inn here has a good dinner.
So you follow him happily, listening to him tell you about whatever be likes. Mostly his adventures and the other heroes.
He takes you inside the inn, stopping to order dinner before Sitting you at a table.
"I've missed you so much, song bird." Sky says to you, his face soft.
You smile back at him, "I missed you too. I can't believe you ended up on another quest."
"Yeah... But I have friends this time."
"That's good."
"I can't believe ypu ended up here- this is very much not our time."
"Yeah... I know. But at least I found you!"
He just laughs, warm and wonderful as he sets his hand atop your's. "I'm glad you found me."
"I guess I'll be traveling with you guys for a while." You say, "At least til I end up at home."
"I'd love that. You're always welcome at my side."
"You're a sap."
"I'm your sap, maybe." He smiles again, a lot more carefree with you beside him.
"Did I tell you Groose has been writing letters?" You ask, almost laughing.
"You did!"
"Once I finish school, I still plan on joining you and Zelda on the surface, if you'll let me."
"Of course I will." Sky says quickly, "I'd love that a lot!"
You grin at him, "Pipit graduated last month, it was pretty awesome to see."
"It's not a suprise."
"No. It isn't. But still. And headmaster Geapora is always asking about you."
"What do you tell him?"
"That you were needed for some new quest."
"Well... That's honest."
"I didn't know what had happened to you actually, it's just what made the most sense."
"I wish I'd been able to warn you."
"It's okay, the whole saving the world business is difficult. "
"It can be."
"Seriously, Link, as long as you come back alive I am not going to complain."
"You're perfect."
"Maybe. More like I'm perfect for you."
"I love you, (Y/n)."
"I love you too hero boy."
You both laugh again, something mending in both of you at actually talking after several months.
The sudden separation was hard on you both- except Sky knew what was happening and you didn't.
"Did you know the fortune teller warned me this would happen?"
"He did?" Sky asks, half baffled half unsurprised. After all the man had always been right if if a little cryptic.
"Yeah! He said I'd 'find my love far in the future below the clouds'."
"When did he say that?"
"A week before you left! I just thought he was telling me I'd get married on the surface or something."
"You thought you'd get married?"
"Well. Yeah? I know it's sappy and neither of us have talked about it... But yeah I can see myself getting married to you."
"You would wanna marry me?"
"Yeah. I would."
"Oh- I'll keep that in mind for when we get back. "
"Good. Just actually come back in one piece."
"I always do!"
"I know."

You Found Me!
Linktober 2023 Day 24: Korok/Kikwi/Kokiri “Good morning, Mr. Hero!” Link took the plate gratefully. The yolk held just a touch of golden jiggle, breaking only when he poked at it with the tines of his fork. “Mornin’, Peeks.” He yawned. He took a bite of the eggs, savoring the fattiness of the goat butter they fried them in. “Zelda outside?” “Yep! Somewhere!” Peeks giggled. “Do you like the eggs?” Link nodded enthusiastically, swallowing down as much of the breakfast in one bite as he could. “Sure do.” He took another large bite, forcing his words out around a mouthful of egg. “What’chu mean by somewhere?” “Oh! We mean, we don’t know!”
Link’s hands lingered on the hilt of his sword. Though he felt it click into place in the pedestal, the forest taking back that which it had graciously bestowed, he felt a piece of his soul remain in the metal blade. He took a step back. Then another. He let out a breath. This wouldn’t be forever. Just like he had been placed in the Shrine of Resurrection, he would come back for this sword when the damage from the Calamity had been healed. Even still, he already awaited the eventual visit from one of the forest children, who promised to tell him as soon as the sword gave off a divine glow once again.
Zelda set her hand on his shoulder. “That might have been one of the bravest things you’ve done yet.” She observed. “I know how much that sword means to you.”
Her hand, so small and soft under his, brought some comfort to his heart. He couldn’t tear his eyes away from the sword, the way the evening’s dying light from between the treetops dappled down on its shining blade. “It’s hard to believe that I don’t need it anymore.”
Her thumb rubbed small circles where his neck met his shoulder, one of the few places where his armor didn’t cover his skin. “I know. It’s…hard to accept. I’m very grateful to you, and to the Master Sword. It’s hard to believe that I can breathe free air again, or feel the grass on my feet, or touch another person. We’ve both been fighting for so long; peace almost feels wrong, in a way.” She sighed. “But, I suppose we’ll just have to get used to it.”
A creaking of wood forewarned of the Deku Tree’s deep voice before the old god spoke. “Every blade must be set down eventually. Perhaps it will be your lot to pick it up again, should the need arise. Or perhaps it will be the fate of another. Many have held this sword. Many have placed it here, in this grove, and never re-took it.”
A wave of panic seized Link’s chest. “Because they didn’t need to, right? Because they lived in peace?”
The Great Deku Tree merely laughed, a rumbling that echoed through the roots and branches around them. “Yes, many heroes lived in peace.”
Link traded a worried glance with Zelda. “And I can still have the sword back in the meantime? When it’s healed?”
The Deku Tree hummed in amusement, leaves shaking from his tall twigs. “Yes. While it would bring you comfort to have, you may have it.” The tree mused. “It is not mine to give, but yours to release. Many were ready to release the sword to my care as soon as the trouble of their time was defeated. Some held on to it for a while, as you intend to do. And one…could not give it up.” He paused, humming in thought. “The blade came to me by another hand.”
A shiver ran through Zelda, who no doubt remembered her own journey to deliver the sword to the forest. “And…what happened to him?” She asked, her voice unsteady. “Why did he not deliver it?”
A long pause followed. The Great Deku Tree groaned and hummed, pondering an answer. “I do not think it best to tell you at this time. Perhaps tomorrow. It is a long tale, and you have traveled far. Rest here, and I will tell you the story in the morning.”
Leave it to a tree to have no respect for other people’s time. Leaf it to a tree? Oh, that’s good. He’d have to tell Zelda that one later.
Zelda let her hand fall to his, lacing their fingers together. “As you wish, Great Deku Tree. Thank you very much for your hospitality.” She gave the tree a respectful nod, which Link copied. She led him toward the base of the Great Deku Tree’s trunk. A glow of a crackling hearth and the scent of forest stew awaited them inside. “It is a long way back, after all.”
Though Link was loathe to leave the sword out of his sight, he couldn’t deny the way his weary body longed to rest on the bed of leaves that the Koroks prepared for him or the way his stomach growled at the scent of roasted chickaloo nuts. And while he’d enjoyed the offerings of the forest children on many occasions during his travels, he had not yet gotten to taste the sweetness of a fruit and nut cake shared with his beloved Zelda. For her sake, he would leave the sword for an evening.
But when birds chirped at the dawn, and Link reached out in his sleep to pull Zelda close, he found only grass and leaves. He felt around in the dim light for several seconds, searching for her. The smell and sizzle of cooking eggs prevented the formation of worry. She was just at breakfast. Link relaxed again, letting himself drift off a moment more. He stretched out his arms and legs, his muscles sore from travel, at last receiving a moment of respite to heal the damage his habits caused.
The leaf blanket fell away as he sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes. A handful of Koroks waddled to and fro in front of the cooking pot in the center of the Navel. Peeks held a plate, which Pepp loaded with several fried eggs. One, two, three, four, five Koroks in total. Link pulled his knees up, resting his arms on top. Five Koroks. No Zelda. But no signs of alarm either. She was probably out back at the necessary, or else taking her tea on the long branches that overlooked the forest. It would be a different sight than their porch in Hateno, and Link was sure she’d gladly take advantage of it.
Peeks waddled over, handing the plate of eggs and a small fork to Link. “Good morning, Mr. Hero!”
Link took the plate gratefully. The yolk held just a touch of golden jiggle, breaking only when he poked at it with the tines of his fork. “Mornin’, Peeks.” He yawned. He took a bite of the eggs, savoring the fattiness of the goat butter they fried them in. “Zelda outside?”
“Yep! Somewhere!” Peeks giggled. “Do you like the eggs?”
Link nodded enthusiastically, swallowing down as much of the breakfast in one bite as he could. “Sure do.” He took another large bite, forcing his words out around a mouthful of egg. “What’chu mean by somewhere?”
“Oh! We mean, we don’t know!” Peeks explained, raising his stumpy arms.
Link stopped chewing. “What?”
Pepp raised his spatula, waving it around in excitement. “We heard you and the princess talking about how much you liked being a hero, Mr. Hero! So, while you were asleep, we came up with a plan to make you feel like a hero again!”
Link stared at the Koroks, that panic starting to set in again. “What did you do? Where is Zelda?”
Peeks huffed. “If we told you, it wouldn’t be a very fun game.”
Oh shit. Link threw the blanket off and set the plate to the side. He pulled his clothes on, fixing his armor faster than he ever had in his life. As soon as his feet were secure in his boots, he reached down toward his bag under the bed—only to find it missing.
“Peeks, where's my stuff?!”
Peeks jumped in surprise, waddling quickly over to hide behind Pepp. “We hid that, too! But don’t worry, we’ve got stuff for you to take!”
Natie waved at Link from the doorway, holding a wooden sword and shield. “Good morning, Mr. Hero!”
Goddess, be merciful, because he wasn’t about to be. Link took the sword and shield, searching the forest below for any sign of Zelda. None. Not in the treetops either. “Where is she, guys?!” He asked, whirling around to the five Koroks who watched him curiously from the Navel.
“Ooh, Daz, that’s your cue.” Natie whispered, pushing her friend forward.
Daz, a stumpier Korok, stumbled a little. His mask trembled. “Uh, uh, right. I just didn’t think he’d look so mad when I volunteered.”
Link glared at the Koroks. “I wouldn’t be mad if I knew she was safe.”
Daz jumped. “Oh! Oh, yes! She’s safe!” He assured Link. “Oaki is with her!”
SHIT. “Where?!”
Daz squeaked in fear. He tried to run back to hide behind his friends, but they pushed him out toward Link again. “Uh, right. Okay. Um.” He coughed, tapping his stumpy hands together. “Sapphires bright, skies so blue. Rivers, moats, and oceans, too. In the middle of blue, there is green. Grass, bushes, trees, and what’s unseen. Green like the eyes of our princess dear, waiting for her hero to come near. Stay close to the glow that lights the path or else you’ll take a muddy bath.” Daz looked back at his companions, who nodded in excitement. “Ah, yeah. That’s it. That’s the riddle.”
Always with the damn riddles. Why did everyone think he was the clever one? Link chewed the inside of his cheek, thinking. “Blue around green, huh?” Since these helpful children stole his map, he’d have to go based on memory alone. “Muddy bath. Like the quickmud, right?”
The Koroks turned to each other, whispering quickly. ”Are we allowed to tell him that?”
“Why wouldn’t we be?”
“Isn’t that cheating?”
“He isn’t asking where she is, though.”
“And we don’t want him to drown.”
“But what if it’s a clue?”
“No way, I wouldn’t figure out she’s at Saria Lake from just that.”
“That’s a good point. Okay. Let’s tell him.”
Evidently having come to a consensus, the Koroks soon turned around to tell Link, but found the hero already bolting to the southwest. Natie whacked Peeks on the back of the head. “You whisper too loud!”
Link darted through the center of a tunnel-like log. Silent princesses glowed on either side of a winding trail. His boots splashed through puddles as he raced along the path, dodging stumps and trees that jutted out from the marsh like jagged teeth. Keese dropped from branches overhead, squeaking and crying as they dove toward Link. With a swing of the borrowed sword, the troublesome monsters fell to the ground in a burst of shadowy malice. Fog pressed in around him, confusing his path. He followed the flowers, barely able to make out one from another.
He spun on his heel. Had he gone in a circle? He swore he saw that stump just a second ago. “Zelda!” He called out, cupping his hands around his mouth. “Zelda, where are you?!”
More fog greeted him. Cold seeped into his bones. He’d been snatched by the fog before after wandering too far off the path. He swung his sword, parting the crowding fog. A glow in the distance beckoned him. He rushed toward it, the flower coming into view.
His left foot stuck fast. He lurched forward, falling onto wet dirt, his boot stuck in the mud. He groaned, writhed, and wriggled. His foot came loose from the boot, freeing him at the expense of his left boot, which stuck up to the mid-calf in marsh. So be it.
Link kept onward, following the flowers as they wove left, right, and back around again. And then, at last, the trail ended. He skidded to a halt at the edge of a small lake, in the center of which was erected a small picnic table. A bridge of Cryonis ice connected the island to the shore. On one side sat Oaki, his stumpy legs swinging back and forth, a cup of steaming tea in his tiny hands. And on the other sat Zelda, her hair tied up in a loose bun, pouring another cup for herself.
She glanced up at Link, her mouth hanging open in surprise. “Oh! Link! I was wondering when you were going to join us.” She waved him over. “Oaki suggested that I take my tea out at this lake, which was a wonderful suggestion, thank you. The water is very lovely. He said that he asked the others to tell you we came out here.” She looked him over, her brow furrowing. “What happened to your boot?”
Link pointed the tip of his sword at Oaki, his chest still heaving from sprinting, his words coming in between pants for breath. “You. Guys. Are. Assholes.”
“Link!” Zelda snapped. “Language! What did poor Oaki do?”
Oaki shrunk back, hiding behind his teacup. “It wasn’t Oaki’s idea!”
Link sheathed his sword. He started across the ice, wincing at how cold it was under his bare foot. “They wouldn’t tell me where you went. They just said, ‘the princess isn’t here’ and gave me a ridiculous riddle that had me running through the swamp trying to find you.” He plopped down on the bench next to Zelda, gladly taking the cup of tea she offered him. “I thought you were in danger
“Oh, Link, I’m sorry!” Zelda apologized. “I had no idea they would play such a trick on you.”
“Er, Princess.” Oaki whispered. “You gotta say the thing.”
Zelda blinked. “Pardon?”
Oaki wiggled and stood up, his head barely coming up above the edge of the table. “The thing I told you to say when he got here!”
“Wh- oh! You were serious?” Zelda asked. She sighed, a hint of a laugh on her breath. “Very well.” She placed her hand over Link’s, which still grasped the warm sides of the teacup. “Yahaha, you found me.”
Link stared at her moment in disbelief, then let his forehead thump onto her shoulder, too relieved to be mad at the absurdity of it all. “I sure did, Princess.”

The sunset paints the sky with its orange and red hues, the wind is still as if the earth is holding their breath, only the sounds of the forest’s critters are heard. Zelda continues her path, pressing deeper into the woods, she’s come here for a reason and will not stray, she refuses. Tears are pricking her eyes as she walks; memories of a man clad in green with a smile that rivaled the sun flashing in her mind. Days of bliss, wonder and love is what brings her into the forbidden woods of the east, to find the one who could bring her the peace her soul ached for.
The sound of a twig breaking caused her to unsheath her blade, eyes locking on a strange wooden creature whose eyes dimly glowed in the setting sun. A skull kid, she realized. She heard many things about them in books- of their impish nature, born from the children who got lost and called the woods home and how skittish they were amongst adults. This one however, was nothing like what she had read and seemed to be fixated on the symbol on her cloak. The crest of the royal family with the sheikah eye,  a gift from her hero given just before he left. “You have the same symbol as him!” The child cried out. It ran towards her, not caring that she held a weapon that could injure it, and tugged at her cloak with desperation. “Please Miss Princess, you have to hurry! He told me you can help him!” Him? Was it possible that the skull kid was talking about her beloved? She wasted no time securing her sword to her waist and asked the Skull Kid to lead the way. The forest child leaped across the branches, each time  looking back to make sure Zelda was following. Her majesty nearly tripped across the roots  and stray rocks, but she pushed forward. She would not fail him this time.
The skull kid led her to a clearing where a grand tree remained. Its roots, whose thickness was the size of tree trunks, wrapped around the area like snakes. And laying by the trunk of the tree was-
“Link!” She ran to meet him, hand on his bloody cheek. He was gravely injured; his right eye was missing and there was a deep gash across his chest where broken pieces of armor remained. Blood was everywhere, staining his golden armor and the grass below; he gave out ragged gasps while trying to say her name and winced in pain each time she touched him. “Please stay with me.”
She frantically searched through her pouch only to find a singular vial of red potion; she prayed it would be enough to keep him here. Gently she poured the red liquid into his mouth, hand cradling his jaw so he could drink with ease. A few of his smaller injuries healed, but his breathing remained the same. Pressing her hands to his chest, she willed the power of the triforce alongside Hylia’s bloodline to flow and heal everything she could. He would not die, not yet.
Please let me save him, please let him live. She nearly collapsed into him, she felt her energy waver and saw her hands dimly glowing golden. She looked back to Link, his gaze was still pained but there was a softness in his eyes, one she thought she would never see again. “Y..ou came..” he breathed. A horrible cough escaped his lips, making worry knit into her heart. Had his injuries been so great that her power was unable to heal him? Had she been too late? Nonono, he has to make it, please I beg you.
“Of course I came, my love.” She pressed a kiss to his nose, hoping that would not be the last time she would do so. With trembling hands, Link pulled out the ocarina from his belt, blood coated fingers staining the polished surface. “I don’t know how much time I have but,” he raised the ocarina, and Zelda felt a sense of dread plummet to her stomach.
“Wait Link, no-” a clear note rang out from the instrument. His brows were knit together in discomfort but he did not let that stop him. The ageless song of time danced around them with the memories they held dear flickering in their minds, eras of war and peace, moments of eternal love and promises. When he played the last note, a wavering breath left him. “I love you…”
She kissed him, tasting iron and salt but she did not care. “I love you too.” She felt his body loosen in her touch. Once parting, she could see his skin grow pale, his eyelid close. She sobbed into his neck, cursing destiny and the goddesses who trapped them in a life where happiness was unattainable. “What’s the point of fighting for peace when we aren’t allowed to live it?”
Then, as faint as a whisper, she felt a pulse. Was it possible? She pressed her fingers on the pulse point and felt a slow and steady flow.
“He’s still alive, I can still save him.” She took the ocarina from his hands, she did not know how much time he had left but she refused to waste a second of it. The prelude of Light sang as clear as the growing night sky above them, transporting them into the Temple of Time.
------------------------
Link woke up with a numbing pain, lips feeling drier than the haunted wasteland and a thirst that he felt would require Lake Hylia to be drained in order to quench it. He tried to sit up but the room begins to spin causing him to press a hand to his head. He closed his eyes for a moment, focusing on his breathing so the dizziness could go away. Ughh I think I need a potion.
He resided to keep his movements to a minimum and checked his surroundings. He’s at the castle infirmary, no one seemingly  around. As he looked out the high windows, he guessed it had to be sometime in the afternoon. His gaze traveled to his left where he saw a sight that made him believe he was dreaming.
Zelda's hand is in his, head resting on the other, while a little girl about the age of ten is sitting on her lap eating cookies. She looks nearly identical to Zelda when she was the girl’s age; slightly darker strawberry blonde hair, eyes that matched the most precious opals, and small freckles that adorned her cheeks. The girl noticed Link staring at her and gave him a large grin. “You’re awake!” she exclaims with glee, “mom, wake up, he’s awake!” Zelda didn’t wake, not even stir when her daughter gently shook her. Last night’s events had taken almost all of her energy, he could remember how she nearly collapsed after using her magic to heal him. “Hey kiddo, maybe leave your mom to rest for a little bit more, okay? I’m not going anywhere.” She nodded at him, and promptly got off her mother’s lap and tried to climb onto the bed. Link let out a small chuckle seeing her efforts. “Do you need some help?” “No I got it!” After her third try, she managed to get on the bed. “What’s your name, mister?”
“Link. What’s yours?” His hand never left Zelda’s, his thumb caressing her skin. Was this real? Or was it another trick of the goddesses? “Saria. Are you the hero my mom talks a lot about?” That caught his attention. He turned to look back at the child, she seemed to be very interested in his next answer.
“I suppose I am.”
Saria giggled with glee. “So you’re the one who gave her the Moon Tear necklace right? Does that mean you’re gonna marry her one day?”
He felt his ears burn, he had forgotten how upfront children could be. “Yes, I gave her the necklace. Um, well I would like to, but don’t tell her okay?” Saria looked at him with a sad expression, and he quickly added, “cause I want to make it a surprise!” The truth was that he wasn’t sure if he could ask for Zelda's hand. Since she had a daughter that would also mean she already had a husband.
And yet he was nowhere to be seen.
The sound of a waking Zelda brought both of their attentions to her, with Saria loudly greeting her with a hug. “Mom, Link is awake, see!” The queen gave her daughter a warm smile before turning to look at Link with such tenderness he felt like he could melt. “Yes, darling, he is.” She gently squeezed his hand, and Link found his answer. This was not a dream, he had lived and was back with his beloved. “How are you feeling?”
He responds by lifting their joined hands to his mouth and presses a kiss to hers. “Better now that I’m with you.” He loved how flustered she got with the kiss, her cheeks flushing like when they were teenagers and he had just complimented her beauty. “I am feeling a bit thirsty though, and slightly dizzy.”
“I can bring him water!” Saria piqued,   running out of the room before anyone could inform her that there was already a glass of water on the bedside.
“She’s a really sweet kid,” Link told Zelda as she sat on his bed. From here he could see dark circles under her eyes and dried blood, presumably his, coated on her hands. “How are you feeling?”
“She really is. Energetic too.” She rested her head on his shoulder, careful to not put too much weight on his wounds. “I’m feeling tired mostly, and relieved. You were losing so much blood and were in a state of shock, I didn’t know what to do.” He could feel her grip tighten as she continued, “I had to donate some of my blood so you could be stable and… the doctors had to amputate your leg. You were hit with some cursed ice that wouldn’t stop spreading and if they didn’t you could have-” she didn’t finish her sentence. She couldn’t bring herself to say it.  “I really believed I had lost you, Link…”
The worn hero turned his head to kiss her forehead, lips lingering before resting his forehead on it. “But you didn’t, I’m here now. And I’m not going anywhere.” She let out a shaky breath before nuzzling closer, like she was afraid he would disappear. He wouldn't. Not anymore.
A thought entered his mind, one that he debated if it was the right time to ask. But if he didn’t ask now, he doubted he could ever. “Zelda, where is Saria’s father?”
Link expected many outcomes; a cryptic answer, the man himself entering the infirmary to see his wife cuddling another man, or maybe something along the lines of him being distant. What he had not anticipated was Zelda giving him a mischievous smile with a glint in her eyes that screamed of trouble, alongside a simple answer.
“He died of a tragic illness a few years after our marriage. Saria was still young enough to remember him, but neither of us like to talk about him much.”
“Oh.” Link wasn’t the smartest person when it came to social cues, but he did know Zelda well enough to understand that an illness had not truly been the cause of her husband's death… an unintentional one at least. He wasn’t surprised, whatever fate the man got was a well deserved one if Zelda had deemed it so. “That’s quite unfortunate.”
“Truly. A widowed queen with a single daughter to raise and a whole kingdom to take care of, my life truly is a trial without someone at my side,” she teased, and Link had a hard time trying to not laugh. It was like they were fifteen again, making fun of the rumors that were stacked against them and dreaming of the future they yearned for.
“A struggle indeed. So if you’re a widowed queen, I wonder what your response would be to a proposition I have?”
She raised her brow at him, curiosity peaked. “And what is your proposition to this widowed queen, Sir Link?”
He couldn’t stop the grin that was forming.“One simple question is all I ask, your majesty.” He let go of her hand and placed it on her cheek, eye never leaving hers. “What if you were no longer a widow? What if someone came to ask for your hand and promised you a life of peace and bliss, where the darkness could not reach and your daughter could grow feeling more loved than any other child in the world?”
Her eyes sparkled like the stars. His breath hitched when he felt her hand gently tug his hair at the back of his head. “It’s a hard proposal to reject, Sir Link.” She was leaning closer, lips but a mere whisper away. “So I will ask you something, a simple request similar to yours…” he could feel moon tear humming in sync to the beat of their hearts, anticipation in the air. “Will you marry me?”
“Yes,” he breathed, and closed the gap between them. “Yes, yes, a thousand times yes, my heart,” he told her through each kiss. For once in their lives, the two felt that their future was bright.
(A few years later)
It was a clear day, the sun shining warmly above them while the birds were chirping their songs in the trees. Zelda is sitting beneath the large oak in her garden, Saria sitting next to her and playing with her little brother Daru. Link, meanwhile, was play fighting with their daughter, Impa, both slashing the air, careful to not hurt each other.
“Whoa! You nearly got me there, Impa!” Their three year old giggled and put on what she called her “hero face”, which was basically her trying to copy her father’s concentration face when he trained.
“Hyah!” she yelled and tapped on Link’s prosthetic. Dramatically he fell to the ground, latching off his leg and raising it above him as he cried.
“I'm hit! Oh by Din, I’ve been struck down by the bravest heroine in all the kingdom!” He closed his eye, tongue stuck out as he pretended to be killed. Impa is giggling as she runs over to him, a triumphant grin on her face.
“I didn’t hurt you, did I Papa?” she whispers in his ear. Link responds by lightly shaking his head, still pretending. “The evil king is dead! Now the kingdom is in peace!”
“Wait!” shouted Daru, to which his twin sister looked at him in confusion. “He wasn’t evil, he was just cursed!” Impa gasped and immediately went to her mother.
“Mama come on! You got to kiss Papa so you can break the curse!” She pulled Zelda by her hand, Daru and Saria joining in by pushing her to get up. The queen simply laughed and rose from the ground.
“Don’t worry sweetheart, I’m going.” Zelda looked down to her husband, who had now conveniently closed his mouth after hearing what Impa said, and leaned in close. Her lips were grazing his when her hand touched metal, and right as she pressed a kiss she leaned away and ran off with his prosthetic.
“HEY!” he yelled, leaving the kids in a fit of laughter as they witnessed Link trying to chase Zelda with one foot.  “Zelda, get back here!” She stuck out her tongue, a mischievous grin on her face as she leaned against the tree. He knew she wouldn’t go too far, but he also didn’t mind a challenge. With previous years of battling monsters and learning how to balance, he crouched as low as he could and pounced on Zelda when she came close.
“Gotcha!”
They tumbled down into the grass, smiling and laughing while their children tried to regain their breaths. Link couldn’t tear his gaze away from his wife, their noses brushing as she wrapped her arms around his neck. To believe that only a few years ago he was near the brink of death and now here he was sitting beneath the blue sky in the arms of his queen and beloved spouse while their children stood a few feet away.
“Zelda.”
“Hm?”
“I love you.”
She gave him a soft smile, whispering against his lips before kissing him with all of her heart’s devotion.
“I love you too.”
