A buncha scribbles from session 15 of the BatIM Cthulhu game! including:

Prophet swapped Sammy in for a brief moment of awareness before the final ritual to release the muses, in which he was relieved to see Susie okay and Susie was glad to see him... back to normal! Oh geez. Sammy doesn't actually know what Prophet's interactions with Susie were, but he's sure he probably regrets them

Susie hummed a little bit of a new version of one of the Bendy songs Sammy had been working on and oH YEAH THATS RIGHT SHE'S STILL KIND OF POSSESSED,

Back when the Coney Island ride they were underneath was flooding, I specified that Prophet was going to climb up the stairs "on all fours" to minimise chances of slipping and falling and I just wanted to try to draw this lmao. i forgot he was wearing a vest here

with Joey exhausted, Allison was the only one who could conduct the final ritual, and Sammy ended up calling out Prophet to keep an eye on her. i was just way too amused by the idea of sammy just TAKING A SWIG OF INK WITHOUT BREAKING EYE CONTACT TO DO THIS

narrowing the dilfs down to a somewhat workable bracket was, by far, the one of the most nerve-rackings things we've ever done. it has kept us up for nights. bickering in the mods video call over this has ripped this family to shreds. the bracket was longer, shorter, and longer again as we pulled dilfs from the abyss to set them down into the arena. absolutely gutted that we couldn't include everybody, but if your dilf isn't on the main bracket, do not fear. we will not leave a dilf out in the cold to die without honor. they will have their moment.

the dilfs were ranked and seeded based on a very intricate rubric and vibes that included number of nominations so if you see a heavy hitter in a lower bracket than you'd expect, you've nobody but your fellow man to blame.

the first round of dilf death match arena contenders are below the cut. we'll work our way down the bracket with new polls roughly every day. first round seeds like hannibal and bob belcher get a bye week, due to their incredible energy catapulting them into top seed contention, and will not appear until round 2.

Pikes Summer Check-Up 2024 Edition

Started to go “hm I still have to unlearn the don’t speak unless spoken to mindset that I have” but remembered I could do a checkup post instead!

Current life updates:

Right now I’m saving up for conventions happening this August, though plushie collecting & Steam summer sales miiiight have interfered. Whoops. (…and I wonder if I should get back to my FE Cipher card collection). My next big-ish trip is visiting my middle school best friend with another high school friend. I’m also hoping for my next big trip this year to be Boston in late September to meet with a friend. After that, it should be a trip with my middle school best friend to a farm, something Halloween related with IRL friends depending on what they want to do, no clue for November, and seeing relatives for New Year’s.

Gonna see if I can reorganize my closet since everything in my room got reassembled when we got new flooring. Feels cluttered as a result. Hopefully my back won’t kill me.

Might have jury duty next week too OTL

What I’m watching:

Current schedule for watching anime is as follows:

Mondays - Digimon rewatch along with Spice & Wolf 2024. I really like Lawrence and Holo’s banter. For Digimon I just got to where Mimi obtains her Crest. Man adult me really just became Joe, huh.

Tuesdays are filler at the moment since I need to wait for Pokemon Horizons to update on Nettingtonflix (I watch the dub) and I finished Kakuriyo. Part 2 of Kakuriyo was…eh, I guess? I noticed stiff animation a lot and I didn’t really get the sense of drama/urgency that I was expecting. Might throw in some more Digimon episodes until Horizons updates. (I’m liking it so far, though it’s not something I’d shout to the heavens about)

Wednesdays - Baccano finally. I might need to rewatch some parts because they retell events from different perspectives, but I see repeats and get confused if I already watched the episode or not because of that.

Thursdays - Moribito. I’ve heard this show was good, though I think I need to rewatch this one as well since I miss important info when something dramatic’s not happening. The curse of having a show as background noise during your lunch break at work.

Fridays - Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure rewatch. Friends were talking about watching it so it got me interested in rewatching once more. I’m still on Phantom Blood but I’m excited for the rewatch until I hit Stardust Crusaders. Unfortunately it’s not my favorite part and it’s the longest.

Saturdays - My Hero Academia and Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. I’m gonna see if I end up liking Sakuna more as an anime or as a game. As for Hero Academia, I’m really liking how this current season’s hyping up the finale. And with the manga ending next month, I kind of hope Vigilantes can be animated

Sundays - Tower of God season 2 and My Deer Friend Nokotan. Nokotan kind of reminds me of Lucky Star, but I’m hoping the shitposts aren’t just making fun Koshitan. Tower of God season 2 looks pretty promising. Though I lament that God of High School had to rush everything into 1 season.

I’m getting hyped for TYBW part 3 subconsciously and also hope the light novels get covered.

In terms of stuff on Youtube, it’s mostly let’s plays for games that I want to see if I want to play them myself. I appreciate that SMT 5 Vengeance fleshed out certain characters more, but damn. I also finished watching the ProZD Plays Ace Attorney 2. Franziska is wonderful, I wish she was in a different game. I liked case 2 the most in spite of Hotti’s mere existence.

What I’m Playing:

Stopped TTYD in the middle of chapter 6 since I didn’t want to deal with the turning platform section. So now it’s back to 428 Shibuya Scramble. I’m in the 3 PM section of the game now and things are getting spicy. So far my rankings of the routes are Tama > Minorikawa > Osawa/Achi > Kano.

I also have quite a few fighting games in my Steam library now! I still only button mash, but I’ve been playing with some folks in the Granblue community and my friend Merlin. My “don’t speak unless spoken to” mindset unfortunately kicks in when it comes to inviting people to play games, though. Like granted people are busy and I don’t want to bother them but aaaaaaa (so if you wanna play with me on Steam I’m free most weekends. Though my wrist may fatigue itself too. F)

I’m also contemplating if I want to have various small fics in a collection or add alternate endings in my main Bleach fic

Pokeani Villainy Ranking

1. Gen I (The Beginning)

The Kanto series featured Team Rocket at their freshest, which included the Boss himself, Giovanni, as the Big Bad who took an active villainous role in the Mewtwo arc. While it took until Gen II and Johto for the arc to properly conclude, the OVA special itself is a sequel to the Kanto-based movie and is predominantly filled with Kanto Pokemon so I am including it here. We also had a number of memorable human side villains such as Damian, Nastina, Dario, Jessebelle, Keith, and of course Sabrina. Even some Pokemon aside from Meowth and Mewtwo got in on the villainy like the bizarre talking Gastly of Maiden’s Peak and the ancient demonic Gengar. And even the Orange Islands gave us some highlights beyond the TRio’s continuing antics, namely Butch and Cassidy with an even nastier scheme than before, the despicable Mayor of Trovitopolis, and the amoral yet charismatic collector Lawrence III.

2. Gen V (Black and White)

Giovanni gets to be the Big Bad and take direct action yet again, and even when he isn’t present Dr. Zager and a uniquely serious and competent incarnation of the TRio are pursuing his agenda to conquer Unova. Team Plasma, especially Dr. Colress, is a formidable threat when they show up as well. There’s also Dirk from the OVA, the Genesect Army from the third movie, and side antagonists such as Leon the Dream Thief, Dr. Ferrara / Cryoganl Man and Team Vanilite, Seamus the sociopathic trainer, and the evil Chandelure and Litwick.

3. Gen VI (XY)

This series gets as high as it is primarily due to Team Flare. Lysandre, Alain, Xerosic, Aliana, Bryony, Celosia and Mable, along with all the Team Flare grunts and Lysandre Lab scientists are such wonderful villains in the anime. The TRio are pretty hit-or-miss, sometimes credible and other times not, but this is alleviated due to the presence of other enjoyable evildoers across the series such as the evil Malamar, Dolan the smuggler, the haughy Princess Allie of Parfum Palace, Ninja Riot and Merilyn Flame, father/daughter crime duo Argus and Millis Steel, and the young Prince Raleigh of Azoth Kingdom who is manipulated by the cruel Prime Minister Alva. Gens V and VI, back to back, was really a good time for villains in the anime.

4. Gen VIII (Journeys)

The TRio may have had the least screentime in this series and ran out of fresh material by the end, but for the most part they were solid as efficient but comical criminals. We also got Matori Matrix, as well as an alternate reality version of the TRio who were still under their serious Gen V characterizations. Team Galactic was far more efficient and interesting under Saturn than it was under Cyrus, the Macro Cosmos corporation headed by Chairman Rose made a solid arc villain, Ash’s Gengar had a delightfully villainous start, and Dr. Zed from the movie released in this series’ timeframe is one of the most horrifying and loathsome villains in any Pokemon media. Points off for that weaksauce, no-name Pokemon Hunter guy, though.

5. Gen VII (Sun and Moon)

While the TRio ended up being far more like good guys than bad guys by the final year of this series, they had a great villainous run beforehand, with the creepy and hate-filled Mimikyu being a standout Pokemon for them. And Matori Matrix, under direct orders from Giovanni, were great human antagonists to close out the Poipole arc. The rest or more hit-and-miss, with Team Skull being great but not appearing nearly as often as they should have, Viren appearing too much and not really amounting to anything beyond broad comedy, Faba becoming more well known as a mainstay hero than as the arc villain he started out as, and Nihilego, Guzzlord and Necrozma being frightening, monstrous adversaries but not truly evil.

6. Gen II (Gold and Silver)

The longer this series went on, the goofier and more harmless the TRio became, which was the start of their already dubious villain cred becoming a long-running joke. The worst part about this is that we get a lot of cool new Team Rocket members, plus Butch and Cassidy again, but seldom anything impactful is done with them, and they feel severely undercooked as a result. This is especially true in the case of Professor Sebastian and the silver-uniformed Team Rocket agents under his command. It feels like a story arc was begging to be told with these guys, yet it never is. Honestly, discounting the aforementioned Mewtwo arc sequel OVA that got packaged as three episodes of this series, the villainy in Johto peaked early with the triad of Molly Hale, Entei, and the Unown, none of whom are strictly even “villains” at all!

7. Gen IV (Diamond and Pearl)

Team Rocket sucks in this series, and what’s worse is most of the other villains suck as well, including Team Galactic whose membership and motivations are so flat and uninteresting compared to their game counterpart and whose arc ends on a huge anti-climax. The best villains here are the loathsome Pokemon Hunter J and Grings Kodai (although some ironic enjoyment can be had with Zero and the evil Togepi), but Hunter J gets wasted by only appearing five times in a four-year series and dying in a situation unrelated to the main heroes, and Kodai ends up taking his monstrosity way too far to the point of discomfort.

8. Gen III (Ruby and Sapphire)

Similar to Gen IV, Team Rocket sucks and so does everyone else. Teams Aqua and Magma are the most boring villainous team the anime has ever had; with the series’ movies being book-ended by associates of theirs who are honestly slightly better than them. And then who else, um....Rico the poacher? Colonel Hansen? That “Crimson Lightning” brat? Ugh, I guess that the Mirage Master or Mr. Mirage or whatever is the best villain we had this whole series.

well hello… I am but a humble jigsquad Guy thinking about… Amanda. so if you have any thoughts on uhhh mandy and small soft acts of kindness headcanons… that is all Thank U Sm…

i've been talking to my friends about mandy a lot these past few days so you're in luck! all of these are in jigsquad verse, because of course, and feature various dynamics:

amanda has a lot of food insecurity because she's spent most of her life never knowing if the next meal was guaranteed, so when they all go out to dinner she orders more food than she can eat at the time and brings home all her leftovers. she gets her own little fridge for them and the rest of her food.

the first time anybody really celebrates her birthday with her is when she turns thirty, and the guys make her a cake and give her gifts and lynn texts her to wish her a happy birthday too. it's A Lot and she gets pretty emotional and overwhelmed, and at first she's like What The Fuck Is This. but she's loved and safe and happy, and it's times like this when adam has his arm around her shoulder and he's teasing her for getting old (and god, she never thought she'd make it to thirty), that she's able to forget all the horrible things they've had to do for her to have this.

amanda loves to go with lawrence on his weekly grocery shop. it again feeds back into her food insecurity and having the comfort and security to know that she CAN get everything she wants and doesn't have to choose between crackers or cereal to survive off for the next week...it's nice. she gets to spend time with lawrence too which she enjoys more than she's willing to admit.

she has a photo adam took of them all at christmas wearing stupid matching sweaters (amanda and mark grumbled about it but adam is very persistent when he wants to be annoying and lawrence was like Yes Of Course My Darling <3 so they really had no choice) stuck to the wall next to her bed. other stuff is there too: her picture of venus, a napkin from the time she and adam were waiting for the others to arrive at dinner and they tried to draw out a graph to figure out the "mark the weird freak serial killer vs mark the normal-ish guy" math, the torn out cover of a cd booklet from a band that daniel matthews told her about, a pokemon card that diana gave her during one of lawrence's custody weekends. the note from a bouquet of flowers lynn sent her that reads can you please be a little more normal about this stuff? because of the time amanda broke in to leave some flowers on lynn's coffee table.

(amanda breaking into lynn's place to leave lynn gifts is a recurring them, much to lynn's dismay. she'll come home to an envelope of sexy amanda pictures on her bed (taken by adam. what's a few nudes between besties?) and be turned on, but also stand there wondering why amanda has to keep breaking in. it’s just weird.)

amanda doesn't really know what to do when in the presence of diana and corbett (especially as the girls get older and begin to wonder about the things their parents get up to) but she's sweet to them and lets diana paint her nails and buys corbett stuffed toys and leaves pastries for her and lynn whenever she does her old b&e routine.

amanda awkwardly tries to be a mentor to daniel after nerve gas house even though a. she's in no position to mentor anyone about anything ever and b. she played a role in the disappearance/murder of his father. he’s a smart kid so he knows that she’s definitely involved in the jigsaw killings but he also knows that amanda has been through hell and tried to keep him & laura safe and was genuinely distraught by everything xavier did, plus he’s able to understand that his father was the reason amanda began down this path in the first place. so he doesn’t turn her in, and she checks in on him occasionally after everything. invites him to thanksgiving and makes sure he’s staying out of trouble and is like “if you need anything, i have a doctor friend who can help you out” (lawrence is not aware of this). they talk music and she brings him mcdonalds and it's weird and uncomfortable but much like with lynn, daniel knows that amanda is trying.

one of her hobbies is sending hoffman fake news articles from websites like truesciencefax dot org and seeing what he'll believe.

fucking with hoffman generally speaking is one of her favourite things to do, but on the anniversary of angie's death she steals him a pack of cigarettes and her and adam will hang out with hoffman at the house all day to make sure he doesn’t fall back on drinking or get so depressed he starts massacring people. and they just kinda watch movies hoffman likes (top gun, the princess bride, air bud) and let him talk about his dead sister uninterrupted. and the three of them suck at emotions but it’s Enough and lawrence brings home pizza for dinner. something something mark hating amanda at first because angie was dead and here was this junkie, similar to angie in age and appearance and wasting her fucking life. but eventually it turning into “i couldn’t save angie but i can save amanda” something something.

amanda is used to running, to leaving before you get left. and lynn understands this without amanda having to voice it (because really, she never would anyway), and so she doesn't let it eat her alive when amanda keeps leaving her bed before the sun is up. she knows that she has to wait for amanda to come to her. that one day, she'll wake up, and amanda will be fast asleep beside her, dark hair littered with hazel flecks in the morning sun, a rare look of calm on her face. she just has to wait for the day amanda recognises her as a safe place to land.

WIP thingy - I was gonna ask about Dude Who's a Spy and then I read on and I NEED to know about "dude who's a spy WITH POKEMON" because lolol. Please indulge me, i beg of you.

Okay I'm awake now! <3

I think(?) this was shortly after I got my first diagnosis + its accompanying medication, because I have the distinct memory of sitting down on the couch, writing, and then nothing else until it was dark and I had 6,000 words on an untitled document. And by "realizing" I mean my mother walked through the door and went "why are all the lights off-- did you not move while I was gone?"

No. No I did not. And then I did the exact same thing the next day, finishing my first short story about a guy who realizes he's compromised in enemy territory only after abandoning his wife and kid and the life he actually wanted.

And then. After finishing this sad story, which genuinely only ended on a sad note because I the author also couldn't see a way out of it, my brain was like what if....it wasn't so sad and it was also more fun.

Well, how could I do that?

...Add pokémon?

So I started rewriting the entire story with pokémon added to the plot, which, c'mon, everyone having their own emotional support animal added to a plot really lowers the sadness density! So dude who's a spy is complete but dude who's a spy WITH POKEMON is a WIP, but reliant on the first work.

Some snippets:

Andrew Lawrence Lee was an illustrator, husband, and father of one. He spent the majority of his days working on well-enough paid projects with the publishing house he had been hired for, working on oils and watercolors that would wind up on the pages of glossy-print children’s books— books his daughter read every night before bed and took with her to kindergarten to explain what her father did for work. His wife was employed by homeland security and could often be home late, but she was just as happy to finish her day in work shoes and on the edge of Cammie’s bed, flipping through glossy pages as Andrew pointed out the details of his work. Kanon Lee was witty and clever, and if their daughter was half as wise as her mother was, Andrew would be blessed beyond measure.

So, of course, he thought to himself, brushes dipping into pristine cups of tap-poured water, it would be nice if Andrew existed. Still, he liked being Andrew, and anyone paid fat stacks in overseas bank accounts had very few reasons to complain, and, furthermore, Andrew’s wife was an absolute delight. He wanted for nothing. If he had been left to his own devices, he probably would have done his best to pursue her romantically. The fact that he had been paid and encouraged to marry this particular member of national security was just a bonus. Literally. The amount of money he was wired after the wedding would buy a small island.

And a man named Andrew Lawrence Lee spent his time painting—a genuine hobby he had never been able to enjoy as frequently in his home country— spending time with his daughter, who he adored completely, and spent time with his wife, who really did work too hard. Spending time with her was more than just work-oriented. Sure, teasing her for covert tips and hints as to the state of national security was his true intention even when he wrapped her in his arms and pulled her shirt-to-shirt close, but date nights were cute, and when she blushed he felt like he had everything a sleeper agent could want in his whole life.

She had recently switched from mint chapstick to cherry. It was an excuse to kiss her more.

And it’s Kanon in a college tee and khaki shorts who unloads the boxes from the moving truck, and it’s he who’s coated from head-to-toe in paint splotches as he covers each room with an elegant red he’d fancied at the hardware store. The exception is the empty center room. He can’t resist. He paints it with layers of gold and gold and gold paint. He staples down the softest rug he can find at the discount center, and even, in his softest sentimentality, buys a pet bed for the Pokémon she’s sure to have, if she is anything like her parents. He doesn’t give up his remodeling venture until the Kecleon approves. And by approves, he means that he puts the Kecleon down on the floor and watches to see if it crawls all over the furniture with its tentative, grasping hands.

It does.

It also tries to eat a spot on the wall that he assumes it thinks is a fly? Its tongue pops off the paint with no expression he can discern, but it army-crawls its way back into his arms with what he assumes is disappointment.

He also waits to ensure that the Houndoom feels comfortable patrolling the house before suggesting his idea to Kanon.

She doesn’t approve. His wise and clever Kanon does not disapprove, either. She sits and thinks. He sits beside her and holds her hand while a finger taps on her chin, and she ponders, and she checks her phone for both their finances and her off-hours.

“…It seems reasonably possible,” Kanon decides, a week later, over her breakfast of granola and plain yogurt. He can’t help the kiss he leans over the table for.

And they have Cammie.

Camille Hotaru Lee is the smallest, most fragile thing he has ever seen.

He can admit it to himself, if to no one else. He doesn’t have Cammie for a cover. She is a special piece of himself that he wants, desperately, and he is selfish enough to go after this desire that has no other outlet. For him and Kanon to have a family. To have some permanence on her life that cannot be stripped away with the removal of his cover.

His handler, he’s sure, is suspicious of such compromise of his agent, but says nothing of it to his face. The man sends him endless offers to illustrate for children’s books instead. He paints with Camille on his lap. The Kecleon plays with her little grasping hands while he mixes the right shades of green for a moonlit hillside. Cammie burbles and giggles every time the Kecleon picks a new shade to mimic, until it realizes the color-changing makes her laugh. It begins to swap a thousand colors at once just to make Cammie shriek with laughter.

Kanon comes home in the evening to a house full of baby laughter and the faint smell of turpentine, and she sits beside the man who she has no reason to doubt is her husband, and they put serial dramas on the television while she pumps milk for the next day. The Houndoom snores ash at their feet. Camille sleeps to the sound of television sirens and the whirr of the pumping machine, and Kanon and he swap theories on the end of the episode, solving artificial crimes in a box.

Cammie learns how to walk during her persistent attempts to pull his easel down with her. It’s her climbing phase. He tries all types of child-proof locks on the house until another church member just buys him a pack of extra-thick rubber bands. It gets Cammie to stop opening cabinets. It also gets the Kecleon to stop opening cabinets for her in a show of solidarity.

The Kecleon sulks by slowly chewing on his t-shirts. He isn’t sure why. It goes limp as soon as he picks it up, and it’s not as if the thing has any teeth. It’s just…gumming up his laundry.

It is a peaceful, almost surreally so, childhood for Camille. He had grown up in a town house. His father had quartered his small family during the months he was in active service. He doesn’t have many memories but the smell of his mother cooking, the beige pavement crawling down the rue, and the overwhelming fear of his father coming home linger still in the back of his mind.

Details:

Miles was born Miles Lee Tan to Elizabeth and Lawrence Tan on April 2nd twenty-nine years ago in Aurora Bay.

His siblings like to refer to him as the family’s April fools surprise.

One reason being is he was very much an accident. The plan was always 3 biological and 3 adopted children. A large loving family blended with those born from blood and those from the heart.

While Miles was unexpected, he never felt it growing up. A family consisting of nine different personalities is bound to have disputes and there have been a lot over the years, but they’ve always loved each other deeply. Family was important, a top priority always, and Miles grew up surrounded by love.

As a kid, he was always going a mile a minute. Always jabbering on, always into something. His mother, Elizabeth, never seemed to mind. If anything she embraced it using a somewhat free range approach to raising her children. She let them do as they pleased as long as they practiced reflection and responsibility after. The consequences were theirs whatever decisions were made.

So if he wanted to take apart the toaster, fine. He had to put it back together. If not? He would be working to pay for a new one. Want to stay up all night watching anime? Fine. If he fell asleep and failed his quiz the next day? The tv was gone.

It was a process for Miles, who multiple teachers recommended that he take some form of medication for his outbursts and inability to follow directions without being distracted or derailing the entire class. His mother refused, but she did begin to focus on helping him regulate and make better choices.

Did it work? Eh. But he managed to scrape by.

But where he lacked impulse control, Miles made up in kindness. He always the first to volunteer to help, whether it involved the teacher or another student. He’d give away  his lunch money to someone he thought needed it or sit with the kids that seemed alone, talking their heads off about the latest thing he saw on late night tv. 

He was the kind of kid you dreaded and loved all at once and if you ask him, he’ll tell you his childhood was a wonderful thing.

Some highlights include, starting Karate at age 5. Martial arts was one, if not the only way, to really get Miles to slow down and focus. It was and still is a passion for him. He earned his black belt by age 9, his second degree by 11, and his 3rd by 14, making him one of the youngest in the county to have a 3rd degree blackbelt.

Began learning Japanese at age seven. It started as self teaching, but eventually his parents brought in a tutor. 

As he hit his preteen years, Miles began to play sports. Soccer was his poison of choice and he was good…but some of the other kids found him to be odd. He was the youngest of seven, so there were always jokes made about the rag tag crew or about how he spent more time talking about japanese cartoons, comics and superheroes than he did the sport or the usual topics. Small, he was picked at, but Miles? He never really noticed.

He was the butt end of jokes, but always the first to laugh. He was confident, even then, that the things his ‘friends’ did were often in good fun and never to take advantage of him or be malicious. Even when his trips to the principal’s office became more frequent and his detentions began to pile up, he insisted things were fine. He was loyal and they just had different ways of showing their friendship to him.

He was sixteen when a new kid moved to town and his friends turned their attention to him. Miles thought they were looking to welcome him into the fold, he was a bit quiet, always reading, kinda awkward, but the more time they spent with him, the more Miles started to notice the shit way they were treating him. The jokes they had used on Miles, they were funny to him, but this kid? Not so much. It didn’t take long before he began to see their relationship with this kid and their relationship with him? They weren’t harmless and in one very explosive day, Miles not only stood up for the kid, but may have broken his best friend’s jaw.

He was ousted from the soccer team. Fine. He needed new friends. Fine. He had one and that was fine with him. He took it all in stride. Stayed confident and though he had a nasty mark on his record, his parents were proud he finally stood up for himself and someone else. In the end, his dad able to make it go away, but still.

That summer, on a mission to be his own man and less of a sheep. In the three years that followed, Miles juggled a lot of different things. He began helping at his dojo as well as the local animal shelter and his partying streak started up.

The closer he got to his senior year more pressure was applied-- or rather more responsibility was encouraged. School wasn’t exactly top priority and to him, that was fine. Why did a bunch of numbers have to dictate his life?

It wasn’t until he decided he wanted to help animals for a living did he realize good grades were probably a good thing. So he tried. Half way through his junior year, he attempted to study more, did more extracurriculars and started dating his childhood and close family friend, Sloane Danvers.

It was a lot of work. Real fucking work. But he felt-- accomplished. By the time he was going into the summer of his senior year, everything was coming up Miles. So much so, he missed how much Sloane was struggling. Though to be fair, she was pretty good at hiding it.

It wasn't until he caught her cheating on him did things splinter. It was a blow, a big one, but something they kept private. He understood her and her troubles and part of him kinda felt bad for not realizing sooner. They decided to stay together at least through graduation, though it was never quite the same.

Senior year came and went and by then it was too late to get in anywhere prestigious. Which was fine. He made his bed and he was quick to figure something else out.

He decided on taking a gap year so he doubled down on volunteering and started learning aikido. Phaedra, his grandmother, and his grandfather on his mother's side are loaded and they helped him pay for his out of state schooling that following August.

One bachelor’s degree and a certificate later and he took off to see the world. Partly on his grandmother's dime and the other as a wildlife technician. he worked and lived a variety of locations over the years. He's only returned to Aurora Bay in the last year, due to his grandfather's passing.

So while she’s off jet setting to ease the pain, Miles' taking responsibility for the upkeep of her Aurora Bay home. He has no clue about home repair, but he’s more than happy to squat, make sure she’s not robbed and start work in a town that’s always been hype and home.

So, remember this post? I decided to write it.

So here’s all the Allison cutscenes with Sammy written in. I ran out of steam at the very end, but I think Allison would ask Sammy to rally the Lost Ones or at least thin out the crowd a bit.

Also, this is probably gonna be pretty disjointed. Apologies

“I wouldn’t drink too much of that if I were you.” A woman’s voice came from behind Audrey, causing her to gasp and drop the soup can she’d been holding as she whirled around to face the source of the voice.

Standing there was a woman, although she looked nothing like any woman Audrey had ever seen before. The woman had dark hair tied back in a ponytail, and with horns poking out from under it. It looked like she was wearing a headband as well. The woman’s arms were stained black, almost up to the shoulders. It looked like her dress was a part of her skin, at least on her torso. She wore a utility belt and a rope slung across her chest.

Behind the woman was a man. Or something that looked like a man. He was completely black, black as ink. Maybe he was ink. His face and head were completely featureless, save for two glowing golden eyes set deep in the smooth blackness. He wore a mask on the side of his head, a mask of Bendy. Like the woman, he had a utility belt. But he also had an ax, hold loosely in one hand.

“It helps patch you up,” the woman continued, smiling warmly as she approached Audrey. “But the aftertaste, it’s not so good.”

Audrey took a step back, her shoulders tensing.

“Calm yourself, little lamb,” the man said, approaching as well. “We mean you no harm.” His voice was low and soft. It was...beautiful.

The woman glanced back at the man before turning her attention back to Audrey. “He’s right. We’re not going to hurt you,” she said gently, reaching for Audrey’s arm. “Looked like you needed some help.”

“Don’t touch me!” Audrey snapped, wrenching her arm away and taking another step back. “What are you? What is this horrible place?!”

“We are the faithful,” the man spoke with quiet reverence, spreading his arms wide. “The chosen few who follow the path of the Demon. For he will set us free from these inky prisons we call bodies!”

The woman sighed, giving Audrey an apologetic smile. Did this happen often?

“The Demon?” Audrey echoed, her fear only building at such a response. “You mean that thing that attacked me?”

“No. That’s a Piper,” the woman answered, as though that was supposed to tell Audrey anything. “And he’s part of a gang so be careful.”

“As if my Lord could ever be mistaken for something so lowly as a Piper.” The man sounded genuinely offended.

Audrey felt like crying. None of this was answering any of her questions. She still didn’t know where they were, what had happened to her, or what these people were.

“I don’t understand any of this,” she groaned. “I can’t think. It hurts.”

“You’ll catch on pretty quickly, if you can stay alive,” the woman assured her. “Lesson one: Searchers don’t have legs and tend to swarm.” She mimed walking with her fingers, looking at Audrey with a hopeful smile. Was this her idea of a joke? When Audrey didn’t react, the woman’s smile dropped. “Look, it’s not good to stay in one place for too long around here. Keep moving and stay close to the shadows. Take my advice. Head to the upper levels. It’s...safer there.”

“The deeper into this place you delve, the more horrors you will find waiting,” the man said solemnly. There was no hint of the reverence that had been in his voice before, only a weary resignation.

“Can I come with you two?” Audrey asked. These two seemed to understand this place. If she could stay with them, maybe she’d be alright.

The woman’s face fell further, guilt creeping into her expression. “You can’t...I’m sorry. I have a wolf, Tom. He doesn’t care for strangers. He barely tolerates this one as is.” She gave a weak smile and gestured to the man.

“Your wolf is lucky we share a common enemy, else I would have separated his head from his shoulders long ago,” the man declared, eyes narrowing.

“A wolf?!” Audrey sputtered.

The woman couldn’t help but laugh. “Like I said, you’ll catch on. Good luck, I hope we’ll meet again.”

“Best of luck, my little lamb.” The man nodded toward her.

The two of them began to walk away, only for the woman to stop and look back. “Oh! And one more thing! Above everything else, stay away from the Ink Demon.”

“What’s an Ink Demon?”

“He is our Lord! Our savior!” The man proclaimed, gesturing grandly once more. “He will break the cycle! He will set us free!”

I was thinking about the new Butcher Gang member, Carley, and here’s what I think her personality is like.

I think she’s a bit of a hell raiser. Just a feral girl who will absolutely charge into danger without a second though. So she’s just charging into a situation without thinking while Charley and Barley are yelling, “Hey! We had a plan!”

I also feel like she probably regularly talks Edgar into bad decisions.

...I had more ideas. Specifically for Audrey trying to make the newest cycle the last one. And hopefully one where her new friends can be happy.

I might write this later, once I’ve finished some of my other projects.

Idea under the cut! (Which kinda just turned into me writing out an outline)

So. Audrey heads through Archgate studios, no longer having to worry about Wilson.

When she’s booted into the studio, I think she finds herself in the original studio, face to face with Henry, who immediately hugs her. They’re both so happy to see each other. Once they stop hugging, Audrey explains her plan. She wants to make the studio a place where everyone can be happy. Or as happy as they can be.

Joey is gone. Wilson is gone. They can finally move on and break the cycle in a way that will help everyone. They deserve happiness, Audrey insists. All of them.

Henry is a little unsure about whether the plan will work, but he agrees to help Audrey. So, he and Audrey turn on the ink machine and head over, where they find the Ink Demon leaning on the boards blocking the machine. Henry’s instinctively a bit wary, as is Audrey, but she walks right over. The Ink Demon asks what Audrey’s planning, which prompts Audrey to tell him about her plan.

The Ink Demon listens, which is honestly more than either Audrey or Henry were expecting from him. He doesn’t think the plan’s going to work, but...out of respect for Audrey he’ll go along with it. Audrey gets very excited at his agreement, although he tells her not to get her hopes up.

Still, Henry can’t help but notice there’s a certain amount of fondness there as the Ink Demon asks Audrey who she’s going to bother next for this idea. Henry suggests Sammy since he’ll probably be the easiest to convince with the Ink Demon on their side. The Ink Demon isn’t thrilled about seeing Sammy again, but he agrees to go along with it.

So, they head down to see Sammy, with some teleportation help from the Ink Demon.

They pop back into existence in Sammy’s sanctuary, scaring the Hell out of Sammy, who’s playing his banjo at his desk. As soon as he realizes he’s in the presence of the Ink Demon, he’s immediately on his knees praising him, which makes the Ink Demon visibly uncomfortable. Audrey steps forward to get his attention, which prompts some confusion from Sammy, as he doesn’t recognize her. The Ink Demon supplies that Audrey is his sister and she has a plan to help all of them. Sammy doesn’t take much convincing to agree to the plan, even though it isn’t clear if he really understands what it’s about.

Leaving Sammy’s sanctuary, Henry and Audrey discuss who to go to next. Henry sheepishly asks if maybe they can go find Boris, because he’s really missed the wolf. Audrey gets a bit excited at the prospect of meeting a perfect Boris, which makes the Ink Demon a bit jealous, although he denies it and refuses to acknowledge it.

They do end up going to find Boris since he’s the closest of major players. He’s...not thrilled with the situation and refuses to come out of the safehouse until Henry goes in and explains what’s going on. Even then, Boris doesn’t seem thrilled to be part of the group. The Ink Demon isn’t surprised, but he’s still kind of hurt. Sammy’s probably trying to help comfort the Ink Demon, although how helpful he’s being is probably up in the air.

After picked up Boris, the group goes over who to go to next.

Audrey suggests maybe Allison, but Henry says Allison and Tom might be a little bit harder to convince. Especially Tom. But if they see everyone working together, maybe they will be convinced. Audrey’s’ a little nervous about seeing Alice again because of the whole “she tried to kill me with a gun” thing, but the Ink Demon assures her they won’t let Alice hurt her.

So they head down to Alice’s floor where she greets them over the speakers. She’s more subdued than she’s been in past loops and asks what they’re doing. Audrey kind of hides in the back while Henry gives the pitch for Audrey’s idea. There’s silence after Henry pitches the idea, and for a little he thinks maybe Alice is ignoring them. Then Alice speaks up and asks if they really think they can make this hellscape a better place. They can’t change their fate. It always ends the same.

Audrey speaks up to say that Joey’s dead now. He can’t force the story to keep going the same way. Things are going to change. She’s going to make sure of it. There’s another long pause and the doors open, revealing Alice with her arms folded. She says she’s only indulging this because Audrey is kind of cute and she could use a change of pace.

From there they go to find Allison and Tom. As Henry anticipated, they aren’t immediately on board. Tom especially is pretty distrustful of the whole group, which isn’t helped by Sammy, who’s probably being pretty petty and snippy. I think Audrey would be the one to convince them with her heartfelt plea. Her genuine desire to make the situation better sways them to try this whole idea out.

They go to tell the Lost Ones the plan last, gathering them together for a big announcement. The Lost Ones probably have mixed reactions, but having Sammy backing the plan definitely helps.

And then I think the rest of the fic would be character interactions, with everyone trying to work through their respective issues and make the studio somewhat livable.

Allison mentions at some point that there’s somewhat of a resistance going on. Her, Tom, some others. And they do come in at the end to help Audrey. It might’ve been cool if Sammy had been part of that resistance.

You know, the whole “enemy of my enemy” thing. Sammy and Allison and Tom had been on different sides in past loops, but now they have a common enemy. Wilson. They can all agree Wilson is dangerous and needs to be stopped. And if Sammy hears about what Wilson and the Keepers have been doing to his “Lord”, he is not going to be happy.

I also think it would’ve been really funny to see Sammy being a petty bitch while still working with Audrey, Allison, and Tom.

Tom’s probably not thrilled, but he’ll tolerate Sammy if it means getting rid of Wilson
