Aster: We don't see them interacting much (I think? there's a lot of events I haven't seen) but they seem to get along well. In Silver Miracle Aster drags Olivine away from the creamy hot pot to a different one, so they're on good enough terms for that to happen. Friendly but nothing special seems to be the vibe.

Morvay: I absolutely think they're BFFs. There's something very sweet about a priest and an incubus being the best of friends, and honestly they're about the same level of horny. They go to 'medicinal herb' (aphrodisiac) shops together and probably swap book recommendations.

Ship-wise: definitely friendship only and zero romance. I think they're prooobably not sexually compatible, unless it's a threesome and they're sandwiching one top between them. They both crave cock in them too much.

Yakumo: They're very very sweet and uncomplicated (or, well, they were uncomplicated until CoD. let's ignore that for a sec.) Olivine's gentle demeanour gets on very well with Yakumo's nervousness. Their dynamic is such that they don't challenge each other or push each other out of their respective comfort zones, and sometimes, that's exactly what you need in a relationship.

CoD complicates this. They both had protective/self-sacrificial streaks to begin with, and now they both feel guilty about what went down with the cult. Let's be honest, the game probably won't touch on this, but there really should be some complicated emotions between them.

Ship-wise: they're not the whirlwind romance Hallmark movie type, but they're the cute domestic type where they go shopping and then make dinner together. Also the sex is fantastic because Yakumo can be overwhelming and Olivine loves being overwhelmed.

Edmond: They're friendly, but earlier on in the event timeline, I also got the sense that out of all the clan members, Edmond is the one that places the most importance on Olivine's priesthood. That's a point of conflict, because Olivine's whole deal is learning to be An Actual Person outside of his job. As long as Edmond sees him as Father Olivine The Priest and not just Olivine, there's going to be some amount of distance between them.

I think they must have figured this out offscreen at some point, because in CoD Edmond drops the 'Father' title and just calls Olivine by name. So there's an unspecified stretch of time where they have the awkwardness I talk about above, but where we currently are in the event timeline, I think they're good friends. There's interesting places to explore in regards to how they both feel bound by duty and both (used to) struggle with feeling ashamed for having sexual desires.

Ship-wise: I've talked about olimond a lot these past few days. I still love the idea of them having the most chaste regency romance slowburn. Sexually, Edmond might be the only man Olivine will be a Dom(ish) top for, but Eiden has to get them started because Olivine doesn't know what to make of Edmond's CNC thing.

Quincy: Also very uncomplicated. Quincy likes that he's quiet and polite, and Olivine just generally likes people. They simply get along well.

Ship-wise: I'll be honest, I don't find romantic quinoli to be that much better than other romantic Olivine/clan member ships, at least when it comes to canon and canon-adjacent settings. They're sweet, but there's not a huge amount of depth to their dynamic. AUs are different because you can change up their circumstances to add that depth; AU romantic quinoli has the capacity to be super good. See: Pages and Priests by Zerenovation.

Regardless of whether they're romantically involved, the sex is really hot. Quincy is very straightforwardly, physically dominant and Olivine would love being manhandled. If you've ever peeped my ao3 profile you'll know I'm unfortunately an omegaverse enjoyer and these two would be the quintessential alpha/omega pair. (Quincy putting Olivine in a mating press... now there's a thought.)

Kuya: Oh Boy. tl;dr - the most complicated Olivine-clan relationship by far, which makes it very interesting.

Here's the kuyoli tag on my blog. I think requiodile says it better than I can, but to paraphrase my favourite parts: they're uniquely positioned to challenge one another in ways that they just don't get from anyone else.

They both have a thing about being seen for their station (priest/powerful yokai) before they're seen for themselves, and they both don't really care about each other's station. Kuya doesn't give a shit about the church or its priests. Olivine respects other cultures and respects that Kuya is held in high regard among the yokai, but ultimately, Kuya is just another one of God's creatures. We see all the way back in Kuya's introduction chapter that Olivine doesn't seem intimidated by him, just kind of annoyed.

There's a few angles their dynamic could take, depending on circumstance.

Kuya intentionally tries to piss off Olivine just to see how much Olivine is willing to take. Olivine is very accomodating, and knowing that Kuya is trying to get a reaction means he would try to stay calm, but even he has his limits.

Kuya, on account of being old as balls and a yokai, has a sense of morality that can seem incomprehensible and callous to humans. Olivine might try for something along the lines of "I know there's cultural differences, but I still find your actions unacceptable", which Kuya would hate.

In either case: we'd get Olivine being genuinely angry. Not just "I was worried for your safety" angry, but genuine "you are such an asshole and I can't do anything about it" angry. I think it'd be neat to see a new side of him. NuCa events being NuCa events, they'd resolve the conflict soon enough, but they're never going to be buddy-buddy. The potential Kuya-Olivine dynamic of "we respect each other but don't like each other" is still a very unique one for Olivine.

If you just wanted PWP, Kuya is absolutely capable of straight up bullying Olivine so hard that he gets flustered and submits before there's even anything for him to be mad about. They're very sexually compatible, being the most sadistic top and the neediest masochist bottom. I think Kuya would find it a fascinating challenge to have a sub that'll take anything he can give and still beg for more.

Garu and Karu: I really don't know what to make of their relationship. Olivine comments in Forest Carnival that he can't help but want to watch over Garu and Karu, so it's... kind of a parental vibe? But that's a really fucking weird vibe to have when they're all having sex with the same guy. I dunno. I'm unsure of what to make of Garu and Karu in general, and given what I know of their writing in events and intimacy rooms, I don't think the devs know what to make of them either.

Blade: I think they're cute! Olivine is a master of social cues and Blade doesn't know what a social cue is. They'd have a lot to learn from each other. I'm going to plug another Zerenovation fic here.

Much like Kuya, Blade also doesn't especially care that Olivine's a priest, but it comes from a place of not knowing what a priest is and not from antagonism. I think that'd be somewhat strange but also nice for Olivine.

Dante: I find it hard to get a read on how Dante generally interacts with the other clan members. Dante and Olivine interact in Festive Glimmer, but miraheze doesn't have the transcript for me to remind myself of how that went. I think they'd be polite and friendly, but not especially close. They might have something to explore in terms of Dante also being very defined by his duty - probably not the sort of thing that'll ever be touched on in canon, but could be interesting in fic.

Ship-wise: I think it'd be funny to see how Dante tries to figure out topping Olivine. He's so used to dealing with Eiden's bratting, and Olivine is... distinctly not a brat. Romantically, there's currently not enough depth in canon for me to be interested, but if a fic existed I'd give it a shot.

Rei: We really haven't seen enough of Rei at all for me to get any sort of read on him. Olivine might have something to say about Rei chipping fragments off the water elemental gemstone?

Ship-wise: Rei might be the only person who can make Olivine a sub top. Like, pin down or tie up Olivine and ride him kind of thing. But again, I don't really know enough about Rei to be confident yet.

1)

It's my favourite of all of the Bleach characters. Really obsessed, not gonna lie. Love his character and the evolution he had during the series.

Ichigo. Only Ichigo.

They're perfect for each other, because Byakuya doesn't need to be protected and neither does Ichigo. They're equals. They're personalities are very complementary. They just fit well.

3)

I never really put much thought into it, because Byakuya is difficult to have close relationship. He's been evolving a lot as a big brother to Rukia. If we're taking out the OTP thingie and just use the word friends or even BFFs, I'd say (in my series) he becomes quite close with Inoue (after therapy). He'd also have a very cool bond with Karin over their respective husbands...

He's autistic and demisexual. I HC all Shinigami as being naturally Pansexual, so... (Isshin is just a fucking idiot who spent too much time in the World of the Living)

I also don't think he was really, really in love with Hisana. I think he was young and obsessed. If she hadn't fallen ill and died, that marriage wouldn't have lasted anyway.

More backstory. An on screen definite cut with Hisana's presence in his life. (she was a heavy anchor and some of you still ship them, like people don't have the right to heal and move on...)

I wish he had been the one to go with Ichigo to fight Yhwach.

I wish we had more story about what happened in the Royal Realm.

I wish people would stop saying he should have died... No he shouldn't have!

Rukia

1)

I like her a lot. She's a tomboy. She's aggressive and rispid at times. She's got a good heart and she's powerful. She's a dork... Just like her brother.

Currently, Renji... Because in the end (even with that awkward beginning) they do match perfectly. And Renji evolved a lot during the entire series.

I had a time when I thought she'd be good with Inoue, but then I started to change my mind.

Ichigo is her absolutely non romantic other half.

They bounce off of each other in hilarious ways sometimes. They have a good rapport and they absolutely trust each other.

Do I even have one?

Only in the background she's given... Which is none. We don't even know how she survived being dumped in the middle of the street (anime) or in the middle of nothing, against a tree (manga). There had to be someone who found her and took her in in those first years. Babies don't survive on their own.

The Prologue doesn't exist for me, so I'm not even going there...

I wish they would have shown in more detail the evolution of her relationship with Byakuya. I'd like to see them being shown more as the close siblings they should have been from the start.

I wish we'd seen a contrite apology from Renji for being an asshole towards her in the beginning.

When I started Bleach I wasn't even focusing on pairings. I like the story and the battles.

The Lost Agent Arc was what made me go "Hold up! What?" And then I went back and analysed every single interaction between Ichigo and Byakuya!

They're so perfect for each other!

Byakuya's growth is solely due to Ichigo being in his life.

It's the way he crash landed on the raven hair's life and changed it for the better. And Ichigo also learned and evolved into a better person and better warrior because of Byakuya's influence in his life. I mean Young Tensa even looks like Byakuya! (No. Not Yhwach. You're wrong.)

Rukia.

For all the reasons mentioned prior. They're going to be such chaotic in-laws... (in my series)

That man is gay... He's also Ace.

People think he should have pressed Isshin into saying the truth during those 17 months. I think what he did was indirectly say "I'm giving you the chance to come clean on your own." and when Isshin didn't, he didn't press the subject because he's prideful and stubborn. It was a test and Isshin failed... As per usual...

5)

He should have stayed in the Soul Society right after the Quincy War.

He should have been honest at that point and say in no uncertain terms that he absolutely HATED the normal life everyone in the World of the Living seemed to think he should want.

He should have become a full fledged Shinigami in the 11th squad.

And Kubo should have been a better writer and not have punished Ichigo with that fraud of an ending.

(He also should have been shown decades afterwards and be either shown or implied that he was with Byakuya... But that's just my representation starving ass because I'm tired of heterosexuality in media.)

I haven't even watched s3 of obx bc I knew they would make Jiara a thing that killed the show for me. It's a bit like ST where everyone gets to cross date but are still bffs at the end of the day. Like Kie and Pope dating at first, Pope and JJ being best friends I just know realistically Pope would feel hurt by Jiara, but it's never going to be addressed, you know. Plus, I don't even see Kiara as heterosexual. She screams closet lesbian to me, lol. Also, what is it in shows that make found family friendships into everyone likes each other romantically, but there is no drama?

And you're right. JJ got the Steve treatment this season where his entire plot revolved around his love life and nothing else. Ugh, both my boys suffered so much, and after s4 of ST, I couldn't sit through another show where my fav was being treated that way again.

I loved s1 soo much. s2 was already a bit meh but tolerable, but s3 I just knew I wouldn't like. As soon as they started to lose focus on the characters and included ridiculous heist plots, it was over. Maybe I'll give it a chance, but idk if I'm strong enough (lmao that sounds so dramatic)

YES! Kiara absolutely screams closet lesbian to me too! Especially after the way Pope and Kiara "broke up", I honestly thought like, okay, now it's finally going to happen. And it would have felt way more realistic to me if she started to slowly realize who she really is from that moment on. It would have been a much, much better storyline too! Like, her parents, how the Pogues would react, all the things that would have been interesting to watch, much more interesting than good old "rich character A falls for poor troubled character B, who thinks they're not good enough".

I think they did us dirty. Kiara shared at least a kiss with each of the boys in the group, and that always bothered me cause now it seems like the writers were kind of just testing the waters to see which ship the fans liked best to go with that. Jiara has no chemistry in season 3, it feels like a bad fan fiction to me.

Some people say Kiara and John B was never a thing, but s1 Kiara definitely gave off the vibe she liked John B as more than friends, definitely. Even the way she was so against John B bringing Sarah into the group was written in a way that gave that impression all the time.

Season 3 is an absolute nightmare. Not only because of Jiara, but the ridiculous plots they decided to explore. Season 1 was good because yeah, they were teenagers trying to bite off way more than they could chew, so everything they did had consequences. It didn't feel so unrealistic as it does now. John B and JJ got arrested. Pope had to decide between college or helping his friends multiple times, and in the end not everything was okay because of that. I actually loved how the show kept telling them nope, you're just kids, you're not going to outsmart the police or a filthy rich grown man.

Okay I have a question for you re Brian/Michael. Now I'm no huge fan of Michael's mostly because I just find him boring overall as a character. His personality traits aren't something I enjoy in my faves he's just meh.. each to their own nothing to do with Brian at all. Michael's just screams safety and vanilla to me whereas Brian/Justin are excitement and danger yk.

Whilst I don't hate Michael as some people do or completely despise his friendship with Brian. I can see why they're friends and I understand the importance of them in each others lives - that's not to say I enjoy it. There are aspects on both sides I find irritating and make me roll my eyes.

But the one thing I've never been able to understand are the Brian/Michael shippers. Like what do these people find appealing about shipping these two romantically. How does it scream reciprocal to them? I mean on both sides they would absolutely be the worst couple purely from a non biased shipping stand point just no...

Could you ever see them as an actual couple to root for?

Oh dear GOD no to the couple thing! I absolutely could not.

To backtrack a bit: no worries about not liking him--to each their own! To that extent, I imagine something appeals to people about their dynamic. If it appeals to some, like, you do you boo I don't care, have fun. From my perspective, though, there was 0 way to make a Michael/Brian romance work from a storytelling or character perspective.

But I do think the fact that the original British show does have their counterparts (Stuart and Vince? was that his name?) getting together might have created the expectation. But ultimately, Stuart and Brian, Vince and Michael, and especially Nathan and Justin were very different characters. Also, while the UK version is very well-done, its themes are much less idealistic than the US version, and it's a bit more realism-based in terms of tone.

I honestly don't think Michael was ever in love with Brian so much as he was in love with the idea of Brian. Brian was this... idea of safety and childhood to Michael, a hero. Of course, this is ironic because Brian and safety do not fit together lol (well. Besides condoms). Essentially, it's a paradox (and a complex one, which is why I love Michael actually--I loooove complexity!):

Michael truly loves, but is not in love, with actual Brian as he is, flaws and all. Michael wants this Brian around forever as his BFF.

Michael is in love with an ideal romantic image of Brian that does not exist and which he knows damn well does not exist. But:

Michael genuinely, from season 1 episode 2, states that he does not want Brian to change. So if Brian changes to Ideal!Brian, Michael wouldn't actually have the person he actually loves anymore.

Hence, it's impossible for Michael and Brian to ever end up together. Michael was pursuing what he knew he could never have. He does this partially to avoid having to grow up himself and partially out of low self-esteem (not believing he deserved to be loved back).

Michael's relationship with Brian is a good foil with Justin and Brian's, because Justin's is more like:

Justin is in love with Brian, but needs to learn who Brian is and what loving Brian means. It doesn't mean loving Ideal!Brian.

Justin knows his own worth--to an extent--and thereby is able to push Brian to grow into a better version of himself while still accepting flawed Brian.

But, demonstrating that Justin is actually in love with real!Brian, flaws and all, Justin insists in the end that he doesn't want Brian to entirely give up his vices for him. The Brian he loves and the Brian he wants around are the same.

Of course, in the end the Brian Michael loves and wants around are the same too, it's just not romantic. While Michael links Brian to childhood, Justin links Brian to growing up (losing his virginity, etc.) In a story that is essentially about Brian's Peter Pan Syndrome, that's significant.

Anyways, that's some convoluted rambling that I'm not sure if I conveyed well, but yeah. That's why I think they had 0 chance of every working together.

It's really, really hard for me to enjoy endgame/Earth C gamtav unless it's very specifically done. It's so hard for me to see a future for Gamzee at the end of Act 7. They're at such points in their lives that I absolutely would NOT want to see them in relationship immediately at the end of canon. There would need to be countless amounts of emotional progress, growth, and/or redemption on their own terms first, THEN they can get together :3

 If I don't fully indulge with bffs Gamzee and Terezi in an AU, then I love me some ashen Gamzee♣️Rose♣️Terezi when it comes to more canon compliant material. With how upset over his qudrants Gamzee was in openbound? Plus it being post murderstuck? PLUS Rose having to deal with some of the most difficult trolls? I feel like there's a whole slew of really delicious angst just waiting there. A Gamzee afraid of losing Karkat, a Terezi lost in her guilt over killing Vriska, and both tearing into each other in some ugly, misdirected pitch flirting, Rose would absolutely have her hands full and probably get a kick out of it. I also love the idea of Rose just seeing it as a fun social learning experience "oooh troll quadrants and getting to play therapist" type thing, but then she really starts to understand the depth of the bonds ashen relationships have and she really comes to care so much for both of them.

Honorable mention to pitch Aradia♠️Gamzee with Gamzee being full on servant of Lord English and Aradia trying to be the keeper of time and the two of them meeting and clashing over and over throughout time and space as two opposing forces.

My favorite poly ship for them - Oooh, ho ho ho, love me some Gam♥️Equius♥️/♠️Tavros. Gamzee adores Equius so much tbh. Gamzee was just a huge sweetheart to Equius pre-game and just loved talking to him. Equius seemed pretty pitch (and I love Gamzee♠️Equius) towards him, but I think I like the idea of Equius letting himself be loved and recieve soft red affection from Gamzee is so cute.

I have a lot more thoughts about them, but it mostly focuses on Tavros and Equius’ dynamic, so I’ll save it for my Tavros ask.

My weirdest pairing for them - Probably the weirdest I've got for Gamzee is him pailing his auspistice, Arsast Aporia, a fantroll from Miracle Child. I call it "The Naughty Auspistice" series. It really all started while talking about the idea of Gamzee and Arsast kissing in a hypothetical game of truth or dare and then they realize, "Uh oh, they kind liked it," then Arsast gets the funky idea to distract Gamzee's desire to pail Sephar (the other ashmate), by pailing Gamzee himself. It's just... I've explored 'rails with pails before, but this is this the first time considering clubs who pail (there's probably a more clever term for it out there). It's just some silly thing I've come to really enjoy eheheh, especially with the social inappropriateness of it and them kind of needing to sneak around to do it.

I am also a sucker for platonic relationships and absolutely hate the idea that men and women can't be friends without ~~something more happening (especially in fiction). Julie Plec was the QUEEN of ruining perfectly nice platonic relationships by inserting subpar, annoying and often diminishing romance into things. Caroline and Stefan were the BEST as BFFs, romance ruined them completely. Damon and Bonnie were nice! I also liked Caroline and Enzo (although have to admit I did ship them romantically for a bit), but Julie didn't even let them become friends properly.

In TO, the only platonic relationships are Marcel and Davina (it's more like father and daughter, but sometimes friends too, I don't know) and Klaus and Hayley (although their shippers would kill me for saying that hahaha I never thought there was anything romantic between them, they were just co-parents and friends after a while). There was also Vincent and Freya, but they barely had any screen time tbh.

Writing the platonic side-relationships in The Wolf is one of my favorite parts, so it always warms my heart so much to read opinions like this 🥺 It's hard to insert that type of thing into a KC story, I never know how interested anyone is in reading about the other characters 🤣 But I have fun writing it. Elijah and Caroline in particular is something I was very proud of, because they had almost as much development and ups and down as Klaus and Caroline. He starts off by being romantically confused, but once that clears up they're just the cutest of friends, and it's very personally rewarding to see that they actually *feel* like friends, instead of merely forcing them into a relationship because. They had to overcome issues, differences, were there for each other through various things, to the point where I don't think they need Klaus to have a relationship. What they have is totally independent from Klaus, and I'm really proud of how that worked out (there is more to come for them!).

But another platonic relationship I really enjoy writing is Klaus and Cami! I didn't realize the two of them could've been nice as friends until I wrote them tbh. From the show, I just always had the feeling they had zero chemistry, nothing in common, Cami was the exact type of person Klaus abhors in general and it didn't make sense to me that they'd ever be drawn to each other in any way (especially after the way he treats her at the beginning). But with some tweks here and there, it could've worked. Obviously in TW they have Caroline in common, so she bridges the gap there. But I think their relationship evolved nicely. I didn't write Cami that much into the story until I absolutely had to because who cares, but I did write her in a way that I think would've made me like her better - as someone who didn't just let Klaus' BS slide, who actually demanded some reckoning on his part, made him actually apologize for what he did to her, to the point where she could start to trust him. And then on Klaus' side, someone who wouldn't just pout and cry whenever she said 'bad Klaus!' and then let her run around the city wrecking havoc just because. The balance works for me.

One of my favorite scenes in TW3 is between Klaus and Cami (it's up ahead, I think maybe chapter 18)! As one of my favorite chapters in TW2 was chapter 23, which is mostly Caroline and Elijah, Klaus is totally absent for the whole chapter.

So I totally had to sit and stare at this in my inbox for a hot minute and digest the fact that it exists. Like, low-key tumblr still boggles my mind- some of my posts here have more notes than the number of likes I get on other platforms from people I know irl. It's weird. I love it. Anyway, super excited to play!

1. Who’s your favorite character & why are they your fave?

I'm really really obsessed with Iceman and Maverick. Not sure I could choose a single favorite character when they exist together. I love their dynamic, I love how deep both of their characters are, I love them individually but also how it feels like they complete each other. I absolutely ship them romantically, but even from a platonic viewpoint they're inseparable to me. (That probably answers other questions better than this one but) I'm also a literal goner for Rooster.

8. What would your callsign be?

I don't really know yet, honestly that question has been consuming a lot of my thoughts. Probably something completely lame and not cool. Most likely relating to my clumsiness, or one of my silly childhood nicknames. My mom used to call me Birdie and Squirrel, and sometimes she now (affectionately) calls me Creature when I do something silly/weird. I did take the funny little quiz that the movie's Insta account posted, and came up with "Colt" as my result (strangely fitting considering I was the Horse Girl...I was amused at least) but idk how accurate that is... If I come up with something cool I'll let you know? I will totally accept ideas and suggestions XD (my friend @brackish-kraken has been dragged into brainstorming with me since I started typing this up...so far they have come up with" Bobcat", "Alice", "Chipmunk", and various plays on my nickname [Rae>>"Rabies" ]. The beach scenes. Absolutely the beach scenes. Also every time a Bradshaw makes a sarcastic remark under their breath/as an aside. And the scene at the end of TGM where Mav and Rooster steal the old F-14. have you figured out how indecisive I am yet?

I think I'd be a pilot if only because I'm pretty sure I'd be a terrible backseat driver. I would probably go out of my mind if I was just along for the ride. I'm torn about having a RIO/WSO. I long for the kind of bond that we see between them and their pilots, and I would feel safer and more grounded with someone with me as a team. But also I would be terrified something would happen to them because I made a mistake.

19. What do you wish you’d see more of in Top Gun fandom

I would love to see more fanart, I'm an absolute sucker for fanart. I also am literally addicted to whump-y fics, and I've read a ton of great ones for these fandoms, but I'm rather insatiable. AUs and tropes that really hurt my favorite characters, and delve deep into what makes them tick, before slowly helping them heal and giving them a happy (usually) ending *chef's kiss* Hanahaki aus, arranged marriage aus, all the hurt/comfort, soulmates, pining, angst, whump, non-traditional a/b/o. Please just give me all the fics that will make me cry, they're so beautiful and powerful, and these characters would suit them so well.

20. Is there anything you’d delete from canon?

Besides the obvious fix-it-fic line of thinking where I don't let Goose die? I would erase Charlie and Maverick's romantic relationship. I really didn't like it that much, I was much more invested in other relationships and friendships. I felt like theirs was unstable and rushed, and unnecessary to the plot. I think they would've made better flirty bffs. That's just me though.

26. What’s your favorite line from the movies?

"You can be my wingman anytime" "Bullshit. You can be mine" also a number of others from both movies, but that's what came to mind first.
