Transforming Healthcare Spaces: The Role of SSA Architecture in Tenant Improvement Las Vegas
Introduction
Healthcare architecture is an ever-evolving field that plays a crucial role in shaping the future of healthcare facilities. When it comes to designing and renovating healthcare spaces, it’s essential to consider the unique needs of both patients and medical professionals. In Las Vegas, a city known for its vibrant culture and constant development, the role of healthcare architecture firms in tenant improvement projects is more critical than ever. This blog explores the significance of SSA architecture (Sustainable, Smart, and Accessible) in the context of tenant improvement in Las Vegas, and how healthcare architecture firms are at the forefront of this transformation.
The Dynamics
Tenant Improvement Las Vegas, Tenant improvement (TI) projects involve the customization and renovation of commercial spaces to meet the specific needs of a tenant. In Las Vegas, where the healthcare industry is growing rapidly, TI projects have gained prominence. Healthcare facilities, like clinics, hospitals, and medical offices, require state-of-the-art designs that optimize patient care, safety, and staff efficiency. This is where SSA architecture comes into play.
Sustainable: A Pillar of SSA Architecture
Sustainability is a core element of SSA architecture. In Las Vegas, where the climate can be harsh and resources are valuable, sustainable design is not just an option; it’s a necessity. Healthcare architecture firms recognize the importance of eco-friendly and energy-efficient solutions when improving tenant spaces.
Green Building Materials: When renovating healthcare facilities, healthcare architecture firms often prioritize the use of sustainable materials. They choose materials that are not only durable but also environmentally friendly. This helps reduce the carbon footprint of the project and contributes to the overall sustainability of Las Vegas.
Energy Efficiency: Energy consumption is a significant concern in a city like Las Vegas. Healthcare architecture firms employ innovative HVAC systems and lighting solutions to optimize energy efficiency. This reduces operational costs and minimizes the impact on the environment.
Water Conservation: Water scarcity is a pressing issue in the Las Vegas region. Healthcare facilities can make a difference by implementing water-efficient systems, such as low-flow fixtures and rainwater harvesting. These sustainable solutions help in conserving water resources and reducing costs.
Smart Design for Healthcare
In the digital age, smart design is essential for healthcare facilities. With the rapid advancement of technology, healthcare architecture firms in Las Vegas are at the forefront of integrating smart solutions to enhance patient care and staff productivity.
Telemedicine Integration: The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the adoption of telemedicine. Healthcare architecture firms ensure that tenant improvement projects in Las Vegas accommodate telemedicine facilities seamlessly. This includes integrating high-speed internet connections, video conferencing capabilities, and secure data storage.
Digital Health Records: Transitioning from paper records to digital health records is a vital part of modern healthcare. SSA architecture focuses on creating efficient spaces for electronic health records, improving accessibility and security.
IoT Healthcare: The Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming the healthcare industry. Smart devices, such as patient monitoring systems and automated medication dispensers, are integrated into the design of healthcare facilities, improving patient care and reducing the workload on staff.
Accessibility: A Key Component of SSA Architecture
Accessibility is paramount in healthcare architecture. In Las Vegas, where the population is diverse, including people with different abilities and needs, healthcare architecture firms must prioritize accessibility in tenant improvement projects.
ADA Compliance: Compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is non-negotiable. SSA architecture ensures that healthcare spaces are designed to accommodate individuals with disabilities, offering ramps, wider doorways, and accessible restroom facilities.
Universal Design: Universal design principles are integral to healthcare architecture in Las Vegas. These principles focus on creating spaces that are usable by people of all ages and abilities, ensuring that everyone can access and navigate healthcare facilities comfortably.
Wayfinding Solutions: Navigating large healthcare facilities can be challenging. Healthcare architecture firms employ innovative wayfinding solutions, such as clear signage, color-coding, and digital maps, to guide patients, visitors, and staff efficiently.
Tenant Improvement in Healthcare Facilities: A Collaborative Effort
Tenant improvement projects in healthcare facilities require collaboration between healthcare architecture firms, healthcare providers, and the local community. In Las Vegas, this collaborative approach is key to the success of SSA architecture in improving healthcare spaces.
Needs Assessment: The first step in tenant improvement is conducting a thorough needs assessment. Healthcare architecture firms work closely with healthcare providers to identify the specific requirements of the facility, taking into account the services offered and the target patient population.
Community Input: In a city as diverse as Las Vegas, community input is invaluable. Healthcare architecture firms engage with the local community to understand their expectations and preferences, ensuring that the tenant improvement project aligns with the community’s needs.
Regulatory Compliance: Healthcare facilities are subject to strict regulations and licensing requirements. Healthcare architecture firms in Las Vegas navigate these regulatory hurdles, ensuring that tenant improvement projects meet all legal and safety standards.
The Future of Healthcare Architecture in Las Vegas
Las Vegas is a city that never sleeps, and its healthcare sector is no exception. As the city continues to grow and evolve, healthcare architecture firms are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare facilities. SSA architecture, with its focus on sustainability, smart design, and accessibility, is the key to transforming tenant improvement projects into spaces that prioritize patient care, staff efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
Conclusion
Tenant improvement projects in Las Vegas’s healthcare sector are a testament to the dynamic nature of the city and the ever-evolving field of healthcare architecture. Healthcare architecture firms, guided by SSA architecture principles, are at the forefront of this transformation. Their commitment to sustainability, smart design, and accessibility ensures that healthcare facilities in Las Vegas are not just spaces for treatment but also symbols of progress and care for the community. As Las Vegas continues to grow, healthcare architecture firms will remain instrumental in creating healthcare spaces that meet the diverse and ever-changing needs of the city’s residents.

Tumblr media
Tara Cutler (she/her/hers) is a physician assistant in the General Medicine clinic at University Health Services.
Cutler has worked at University Health Services since September of 2006. Before becoming part of the Healthyhorns team, Cutler received her bachelor of science degree in biology from Idaho State University in 2001. She went on to graduate with a masters in health sciences from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania in 2003. She began her career in internal medicine in Las Vegas in 2004.
“I had a couple of friends who lived in Austin that I had visited a few times,” Cutler said. “I heard about a job opening at UHS in the General Medicine clinic and the rest is history. I applied, got the job and started working here in September of 2006.”
Cutler said she knew from a young age that she wanted to work in the medical field because she always wanted to help others.
“I had a sports physical in high school by a physician assistant (PA) and that is when I decided to be one,” Cutler said. “I had never heard of a PA, but my visit with him was very informative and marked the start of my journey.”
Cutler said after that experience in high school, she knew that she wanted to pursue a career as a PA. She said once she started at UHS, she knew she was going to enjoy working with students, just like the impactful PA had worked with her when she was around her patients age.
“I enjoy having students as my patients because I can interact with them on different levels,” Cutler said. “Not only am I helping them with their health and well-being, but also helping them as they pursue their academic endeavors. It feels really nice to be able to ensure they are healthy as they are in this incredibly formative journey.”
Cutler explained that she believes the services at UHS are important for many reasons, particularly for their low cost and easy access.
“It is important for students to have access to a healthcare clinic on campus because helping the ‘whole student’ is our focus,” Cutler said. “I am proud to provide care to students at a reasonable cost so our students don’t have additional worries, and I love that we are right here where students are. They don’t have to go far to receive quality care.”
Having worked with students for nearly 20 years, Cutler finds the best part of her job is the supportive environment filled with like-minded staff dedicated to student care.
“One of the many reasons I have stayed of at UHS for as long as I have is because of the wonderful providers and staff we have in Healthyhorns,” Cutler said. “They are all so smart, extremely kind, caring and compassionate. Their number one priority is to take care of our students.”
Cutler said she wants students to remember that their time at UT Austin is a crucial chapter in their lives.
“Don’t let a bad grade deter you from doing what you want to do and becoming who you want to become,” Cutler said. “Speaking from experience, the road to success is challenging and there are often a few detours, but believing in yourself and having the motivation to succeed can make all the difference.”

The Importance of HIV Testing: “The threat is not in having the disease — it’s in not knowing you have the disease.”
Tumblr media
"In 2016, I was a 22-year-old with no health insurance and the only place that would take me without extremely high fees for medical care was Planned Parenthood. I was not there for HIV testing, but they offered it to me anyway, for free. I never expected when they called me back a week later that anything was wrong, but my results came back positive for HIV.
Naturally I was shocked. I was diagnosed in a different state than the state I was living in at the time, so it took a few weeks before I could get into treatment. I didn’t tell anyone about my diagnosis because I was worried about what they might think of me. At the same time, I was living in constant fear of what my life with HIV would look like. When I finally got back home to Florida and met with my doctor for the first time to go over my numbers he said “Your viral load isn’t great but it’s not bad. It’s good that you found out when you did because we can fix this.” And almost immediately, the weight of all my fears had lifted.
I have a normal life. I am a graduate student. I have a beautiful man who loves me. I can still have children. I can travel. I can do any and everything I had planned for myself before I was diagnosed with HIV. People often think that HIV is life-threatening. But the threat is not in having the disease — it’s in not knowing you have the disease. Thanks to Planned Parenthood, I know, and that is how Planned Parenthood saved my life."
— Jordyn, Las Vegas, NV
Getting tested is the only way to know for sure if you have HIV, and it’s one of the best ways to keep yourself and your partners healthy. HIV tests are usually quick and painless — most of the time, all you have to do is rub your cheek with a cotton swab.
Tumblr media
The best part about HIV testing? Getting tested and knowing your status can really put your mind at ease, no matter the results. If you do find out you have HIV, you’ll be able to get the information you need to start treatment. There’s no cure for HIV, but there are medicines you can take to help you stay healthy and lower (or even stop) your chance of passing HIV to others.
Having HIV does not make you “dirty” or a bad person, and it doesn’t mean your life is over. People living with HIV can be in relationships, have sex, and live full, healthy, happy lives with the right treatment and the support of friends and family.
Tumblr media
Lots of places offer free or low-cost HIV testing, like your local Planned Parenthood health center.
Make an appointment to get tested today.

Volcano gods demand workers
Tumblr media
"Re-opening" isn't about saving ordinary workers and earners. You can't save someone by infecting them with a deadly disease. In a world without contact-tracing, therapeutics, tests, PPE, santizing products, etc, more contact means more risk of illness and death.
"Re-opening" is about saving investors: the 1% who constitute the major shareholders in large firms whose calculus goes like this: "30% unemployment means that for every worker who dies on the job, ten more will apply to take their place."
These people are willing to risk workers' lives and shoppers' lives because they believe they do not have a shared microbial destiny with the rest of us.
They think they won't get sick, and if they do, they think they'll get better.
That's because they never had to go without medical care because they lacked insurance or because their insurer-imposed rationing denied them the care their doctors advised them to get, so they are less likely to have chronic illnesses and other comorbidities.
They can afford premiums to gougers for PPE for shopping trips, and if they do get sick, they can afford private rooms, hoarded ventilators, and home care (with PPE for the workers who care for them).
For the investor class, "re-opening" is low risk and high reward.
There's only one fly in the ointment. People don't want to throw themselves in a volcano to appease the economy gods. The vast majority of Americans think re-opening is a bad idea.
https://pluralistic.net/2020/05/07/just-look-at-it/#national-unity
That's why the gloves are off, like in Ohio, where bosses can use a confidential snitchline to rat out workers who won't come back for fear of their lives: these workers will lose their unemployment benefits, their homes, their grocery money.
https://pluralistic.net/2020/05/06/moloch-demands-death/#life-or-death
It's not just Ohio. Iowa also has a snitchline for bosses who want to punish mulish, uncooperative workers who think their job isn't worth their lives. These workers also face a choice: starve or sicken.
https://popular.info/p/return-to-work-or-else
Iowa Workforce Development Director Beth Townsend: "fear of catching the virus would be considered a voluntary resignation, which disqualifies workers from receiving unemployment benefits."
Of course, everything's bigger in Texas, including (especially) the terrorization of the workforce. After the shortest-in-the-nation lockdown, Texas re-opened with an injunction to bosses to "report any job refusal."
https://www.twc.texas.gov/news/frequently-asked-questions-about-unemployment-insurance-benefits-related-covid-19#employerQuestions
Ideologues - like the mayor of Las Vegas - tell us that we can reopen because the market will drive employers to find safe ways to operate. They are wrong.
https://pluralistic.net/2020/04/23/riot-baby/#carolyn-goodman
In Dallas, workers at the Hillstone Restaurant Group - which reopened last weekend - were told that if they wore masks to work, they'd be fired, because " face masks don't complement the restaurant group's style or level of hospitality."
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/face-masks-coverings-dallas-restaurant-workers-coronavirus/
While Amazon lied to Southern California warehouse workers, telling them that the state's paid sick-leave law didn't extend to warehouses and warned them that they'd be fired for missing shift. Sick workers are coming in and infecting others.
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2020/may/07/amazon-warehouse-workers-coronavirus-time-off-california
Right wing politics require alliances between elites - (rightism is essentially the belief in rule by elites) - and large groups of turkeys who'll vote for Christmas.
Evangelicals: "we'll support domination by the finance sector if you'll give us performative cruelty to brown people, queers and women seeking abortions."
https://pluralistic.net/2020/04/19/shared-microbial-destiny-2/#trickle-down
But these alliances are destined to fracture. The finance sector and the ultra-wealthy got billions in helicopter money. Workers got $1200 as a ten-week "liquidity bridge" are now being sent into death-traps on pain of starvation.
https://pluralistic.net/2020/04/19/shared-microbial-destiny-2/#trickle-down
The antidote is a peoples' bailout, like the $2,000/month stimulus proposed by Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris and Ed Markey, retroactive to March, for every adult and every child.
https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/496747-harris-sanders-markey-propose-2000-monthly-payments-amid-coronavirus-pandemic
"If we can bail out large corporations, we can make sure that everyone in this country has enough income to pay for the basic necessities of life." -Bernie Sanders.
Related: Rashida Tlaib's proposal to mint 2 $1T coins to fund a $2K one-time cash infusion and $1k/month every month until the crisis has been over for a year.
The problem (for investors) with these proposals is that they take away the leverage employers want to use to get workers to risk their lives. A worker receiving this stimulus would only go back to work if it seemed safe - not because it seemed preferable to homelessness.
The right loves to talk about "moral hazard" in the context of social safety nets ("if we let people see a doctor without paying, they won't take steps to keep themselves from getting sick or injured").
But reality demonstrates, time and again, that the real moral hazard comes from letting investors socialize their costs and privatize their gains.

Tumblr media
I’ve been in Las Vegas, NV for the last two months by the grace of strangers who’ve become family, living out my dream as a part of the movement to elect Bernie Sanders as a president of the people. I knock on doors day in & day out, canvassing voters. It’s my favorite thing in the world because I get the opportunity to connect with every kind of person about what’s important to all of us. It’s both deeply personal & highly universal. It’s social, cultural & political. Perhaps most importantly, it’s human.
The last door I knocked yesterday, on Superbowl Sunday & the eve of the Iowa caucus, further cemented for me that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be:
A lady answered the door in a zebra robe(!). She appeared initially suspicious & annoyed as many do when a random unexpected person is at your door asking for you by name. She confirmed that it was her that I was asking for. She’s a middle-aged black lady. I let her know the Nevada caucus is approaching in 3 weeks and ask her whether she’s planning to vote. She says absolutely yes but she’s new to Nevada & has never caucused. I break down the info & ask her who she plans to support. She’s not sure yet. She’s not so familiar with Bernie’s platform. I ask her what issues are personally important to her. Healthcare. She goes on to reveal that she was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer. She shares how she’s not only dealing with the emotional reality of having a terminal illness, she’s constantly stressed navigating endless bills, paperwork, doctors visits and fighting with both her insurance & social security, both of which are doing their best to leave her with nothing. She’s overwhelmed by the stress of going bankrupt while trying to live what life she has left.
The record breaks.
I don’t just hear her. I feel her feelings with her. We feel them together. Our hearts are open. We look at each other and I let her know, with everything I have in my heart, that *this* is exactly what I’m fighting for. I want her taken care of. I want her to live. I know she wants the same for me. We all just want to live. I talk about my own lack of health insurance this past year & inability to seek care for fear of the cost. I talk about the role of privatization in healthcare - via predatory industries like insurance and pharma - which care more about profits than our lives. She deeply understands this.
Our people are dying right now as a direct result of a fundamentally broken system. “Yes.” Our lives have more dignity than this. “Yes.” We’re running to guarantee universal healthcare as a human right. “Yes.” We’re running to cancel the crisis of medical debt. “Yes.” We’re running to ensure that our people aren’t dying as a result of their economic circumstances in the richest nation in the world. “Yes.”
I tell her about Bernie’s town halls which highlight people’s stories. I sense it’ll resonate with her because the stories I’ve seen have moved me to tears by highlighting the humanity buried underneath our healthcare crisis. It’s helping to liberate the shame of blaming ourselves for our personal struggles by recognizing that reflected in our collective struggle is the need for systemic change.
Either way, she’s already all in for Bernie. She’s going to caucus. I thank her for sharing her story with me. She thanks me. We share a hug. As I walk away she tells me that she appreciates me. I hope & trust she understands how much this means to me, and how much she means to me. We were human together for a moment, now family forever.
This is not a rare circumstance. These are the encounters I’m having often multiple times a day.
It’s nothing I’m doing. It’s simply an opportunity to be fully human for a moment. It’s our most precious & powerful gift to this world.
There’s nothing more important than this, dear friends. You are all my family, and I can’t settle for a world that doesn’t honor the sanctity of our life here on this planet. I’ve allowed myself to believe in a better world and a better world has been revealing itself to me.
Person by person. Stranger to family.
Please vote in this primary, and vote with your heart. Vote for a future that’s better than you can believe. Vote with your deepest sense of humanity.
Don’t stop there. Do more than vote.
Become a part of this revolution. Offer your life to this revolution. Let your life be the revolution.
It’s been waiting here for you all along.
I’ll end this with the inspired & timeless words of our late brother Martin Luther King Jr:
“Our only hope today lies in our ability to recapture the revolutionary spirit and go out into a sometimes hostile world declaring eternal hostility to poverty, racism, and militarism. With this powerful commitment we shall boldly challenge the status quo and unjust mores and thereby speed the day when every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall be made straight and the rough places plain.
Now let us begin. Now let us rededicate ourselves to the long and bitter—but beautiful—struggle for a new world.”
“Deep in my heart I did believe that we would overcome.”

The Dynamics of Tenant Improvement Las Vegas
Tenant improvement (TI) projects involve the customization and renovation of commercial spaces to meet the specific needs of a tenant.

6 MOST IMPORTANT FACTORS TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH YOUR SLIP AND FALL CASE IS WORTH
How much is a slip and fall lawsuit worth? This is a question I hear often, but it isn’t a one size fits all answer. The fact is every case is different and every person is different, so there is not a universal answer. Fear not, though, because every case does have a number, and it is predicated on some very serious issues.
To determine what your skip and fall case is worth, the amount you will get at the end of the case, lets determine what factors we have to look at to decide what the outcome will be.
What is a Slip and Fall?
A Slip and Fall accident actually refer to several different types of accidents. One can literally slip and fall. If someone spills some liquid at the supermarket or big box store, for example, and the liquid causes you to slip, it’s a classic slip and fall.
You can also trip and fall. If you were walking through a Las Vegas casino and the carpet on the floor has been inadequately tacked down, or if there were some obstruction in your way that caused you to trip, this would be a trip and fall.
There is also an accident known as a Step and Fall. In Las Vegas, where you often have to walk vast distances to get from one hotel to another, we often see step and fall accidents here. Parking lots that have potholes where you can take a misstep or a broken piece of tile which just catches you the wrong way are step and fall injuries.
All of these accidents fall under slip and fall law.
What is Premises Liability Law?
Slip and fall accidents are a category of premises liability law. Business property owners, under Nevada law, have a duty of care to their customers and to the public. They are responsible for ensuring their businesses are safe. There should be no areas where members of the public could be harmed through no fault of their own.
Property owners must maintain their premises in a safe condition. In a store, for example, there should be no fallen objects on the floor or spilled liquid. In a hotel or casino, there should be no lumps in carpet that anyone could trip over. In rental properties, spaces should be well-maintained. There should be no low places where someone could trip on a sidewalk or holes or defective places in stairs where anyone could trip or slip.
Here in Las Vegas, we have some of the largest hotels and casinos in the world. Generally speaking, they maintain their properties very well. But problems do arise from time to time, and even they miss things. When this happens, they are in breach of the law because they didn’t take the best care in the public – your – safety. The breach in the duty of care means they were negligent in their duties as property owners.
It is the negligence that creates liability for an accident that occurs as a result of the breach of duty of care. If an owner can be proved negligent, and that negligence caused an accident which in turn caused you to be injured, you can bring a suit for a slip and fall under the law.
But what if the owner believes the premises are safe? After all, it is not unheard of for hotel owners, for example, to argue that their parking lots are completely safe, despite a large and uneven crack in it that makes tripping on it an inevitable outcome.
The law turns to a reasonable person standard in these cases. The premises can be deemed unsafe under the law if a reasonable person would believe them to be unsafe. Most reasonable people, for instance, could agree that a cracked and uneven surface of a parking lot can cause you to trip if you aren’t looking directly at it when walking.
What if the premises are safe, but some event or action occurs suddenly makes them unsafe? Couldn’t the owner say that they didn’t know the premises were unsafe because they didn’t check?
In that case, the law also turns to a reasonable person standard. A business owner is responsible for fixing and responding to events or actions that make the premises unsafe if a reasonable person knew or should have known they had become unsafe.
Part of the owner’s duty of care is to fix or remedy the situation within a reasonable period of time, as well. If someone spills something in a store, the manager or the employees should clean it up as soon as possible. They can’t wait a few hours, because the court are highly unlikely to consider that a reasonable period of time.
In addition, if a premises or location becomes unsafe, business and property owners should clearly mark the affected area as unsafe. They can place hazard tape, warning signs, or cones to alert anyone in the area that there is a danger and it is unsafe. Those signs you see in stores about a wet floor when they are mopping is to protect you and them.
Knowing this information, you are now ready to understand what the 6 most important factors to determining how much your slip and fall case is worth.
1)The Amount of the Full Damages
When you are injured by a slip and fall, the full damages you incur are a mix of things that need to be identified and valued. If you went to a doctor, the medical bills you have incurred (not simply what your insurance co-pay may have been) are part of the damages.
Beyond that, though, are the long term effects of the damage. If you are unable to work because of your injury, whether for a short period of time or a long term disability, the loss in income is a damage you have incurred. If your house has to be retrofit to accommodate you because of the injury, that is a damage. All of these are easily identifiable monetary damages you have incurred and will go in determining how much your case is worth.
2) Future Treatment Costs
If you have to continue seeing a doctor or medical professional because of your injury, even if you have mobility, these future costs should not be paid by you, as you were not the one that caused the long-term damage. These costs are directly attributable to the slip and fall case and are used directly in the determination of your cases value.
3) How Much You Have Lost by Being Injured
Lets use an example for this. Lets say someone who was a truck driver slipped on some icy stairs at a client facility when getting paperwork signed to off-load his delivery truck. In trying to save himself, he grabs the handrail, but the ice was there too. He slips and his eye catches the handrail, making the driver blind in one eye temporarily. This sounds like a terrible accident, but at least the driver can still walk, talk, and isn’t completely blind.
Driving a truck requires you to have vision in both eyes, so he can’t drive a truck anymore. This means the occupation he studied for and is getting paid to do is gone. If his livelihood has been impacted by this accident, the loss in income is something that can be quantified and needs to be taken into consideration for his case.
Although the example above is fictional, slip and fall accidents often have severe losses because of the injury, and a good attorney will fight to make sure you get what you deserve for those losses.
4) How Much You Will Lose in the Future Because of the Damages
Using the same example above, what if the driver was permanently blind in one eye. While he can work in the office, they can’t pay him the same wages as if he were on the road. Assuming he earned $60,000 per year on the road and will earn $45,000 in the office, the other $15,000 per year, with adjustments made for inflation and average increases in both roles, will be considered.
The subsequent loss in income over his working years will all be taken into account when determining the future losses for your case. Your attorney will do all the research for you to get you the most they can for your case, but they know how to make all this information highly relevant to the case and the courts.
5) Pain and Suffering
This one is the hardest to quantify, as it relies on every individual person’s state of mind. If you are wheelchair bound because of your accident, and your spouse can’t take care of you in that condition, causing a divorce, that is very difficult to handle emotionally. This falls into the pain and suffering category.
What if you suffer from phantom pains because of your injury for years (or the rest of your life)? There is nothing physically wrong and no doctor can help, but you feel real pain. This also falls into the pain and suffering pool.
Last example (I promise); what if your injury causes you to become depressed. How that makes you feel can’t necessarily be measured in dollars and sense, but you are still feeling some pain and suffering. This is all vital to your case.
6) Hiring the Right Attorney
If you are in a slip and fall injury in Las Vegas, NV, you have options of lawyers who can represent you. The streets and the strip are littered with billboards of attorneys all claiming to be the best. How do you know, then, who is really the best.
You want to choose a personal injury attorney who does nothing but personal injury law. You want someone who has represented thousands of clients in slip and fall cases and knows exactly how to win them and get large settlements awarded in your favor.

You might not have to remain in the hospital depending on the kind of surgery you had. However, you should expect bruising, swelling, and soreness for at least a few weeks. Your surgeon may require you to wear a compression garment for 1 to 2 months after surgery to control swelling. You will probably also have to take some antibiotics to prevent disease. Most people can return to work within a couple of days and get back to normal activities within 2 weeks. But every individual is different.
