Like a lot of business in Chinatown, the restaurant wasn’t doing well. Madame Wong’s would be lucky to get a few dozen people in during the evenings. An enterprising promoter, Paul wanted to turn Madame Wong’s into a new, hot music venue: a venue that he would book and promote. At the time, there was a rising musical genre just screaming for a new venue: punk.

Binondo and Luneta
2022’s 10th Most Memorable Moment
We braved the heat of the sun, walking around Binondo and Luneta. I didn’t mind it all because I was with him. And in this crazy world, I wouldn’t care what other people think of us as long as we’re happy and we’re not doing any harm to anyone.
I would’ve been in Leni Robredo’s Grand Rally in Makati that day, but my sister couldn’t make it because of her pregnancy. So... Gerald and I decided to see each other instead.
We haven’t seen each other since February 25—LDR problems, right? All the while, he had been meaning to take me on a Binondo Food Walk.
Hence, that was our plan. Food Walk—we even had a list of food we’d like to try—and then we’d go to Luneta after, if we still had time.
The day came. We were at Binondo. We walked. The first food we tried was the famous Shanghai Fried Siopao.
We walked again, trying to find the store that sells fresh lumpia. We found it eventually, after much scrolling in Google maps and strolling around Ongpin.
Then we grew tired. That easy. We wanted to go on and find more dishes to eat but we just couldn’t.
So we went to Lucky Chinatown Mall to cool down. We ate lunch at S&R—we actually ate the fresh lumpia there too.
Afterwards, we went to Luneta, but the gates were barricaded by “Closed” signs.
Gerald was so disappointed because all the things we planned didn’t happen.
But then we thought, maybe there was another entrance to the park.
On the way to find another entrance, we passed by the National Museum of Natural History. I told him I’ve never been there, and so did he. Fortunately, we found out that the museum was open and the only requirement to enter was to present our vaccination cards.
So we did. The next thing I knew, we were holding hands, walking inside the galleries of the National Museum.
While inside the museum, a staff told us that only a part of Luneta was closed.
We waited until the museum closed its doors to visitors before we went to Luneta.
HHWW continued there as we passed the time by before parting and heading home.

Life of Chelsea
cloudy dream Chelsea Ezra R. San Juan was born. at 4 am at the DMC lying in the clinic her parents are Ma. Candy R. San Juan and Christopher R. San Juan. She started going to school at the age of 3 years her mama always made sure that they had delicious meals and brought them to Chelsea’s school because her mother was good at cooking food. old growing up her parents always took her to the park where there were big statues of dinosaurs, shoes, and a house where kids go inside and play or slide on that statue, and somehow as a kid chelsea enjoys it. Chelsea’s first job was as a helper in her mother's business because her mother's business is a printing business it needs manpower and chelsea saw how to do it while she was young therefore chelsea knew her mother’s business. Having a career was a pressure for other people but of course as well as to chelsea, Chelsea takes her career as being an honor student. From being a normal student she decided to work hard to be one of the academic achievers which chelsea successfully got as she became an honor student in grade 10 and finished grade 11 as a high honor student. Chelsea had her first date is when there this guy named Michael they casually talked via messenger but they were not a total stranger they met online chelsea and Michael are in the same school but chelsea only recalls his name but for michael? Michael had a crust on chelsea when he was in grade 7 but it faded due to he’s not seeing chelsea anymore it continued when Michael was in grade 9 but chelsea was already in grade 10 as chelsea was not available at that time Michael decided to wait as the valentines day Michael was supposed to move and talk t chelsea but then inconvenience happen but when chelsea already in grade 10 that’s when both of them talked and their first date was a coffee chelsea said that it's just magical when they first had their first coffee date because she was so comfortable on him as she laugh her heart out having butterflies in her stomach as she made michael laugh thats just memorable and that coffee shop will always be memorable for the both of them. They had their real date meal at the Lucky Chinatown Mall where Michael takes her to eat pepper and lunch. One of the sad times in her life of chelsea is when her parents got separated and the one who took care of her was Lola while chelsea had her joyful when her baby brother was born he named Zeus Jake she was never been happy when Zeus was born because Zeus is always waiting for her to come home for chelsea Zeus and Michael makes her happy. One of her hobbies is reading books specially written by Colleen Hoover and books about self-care. “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens.” That was Chelsea’s belief and her words of wisdom.

October 12, 2023
Woke up around 8am today but Eddie says that I woke him up early today. I do not fucking know what he meant by that. I'm feeling less awful right now but I feel that there's still something in me that's brewing. I think it's Covid because this doesn't feel like the normal flu.
Jai and Jovel had a VFS schedule in Manchester and they proposed that we go with them so we can touIr the city. It was a good idea. I wasn't so sick that I couldn't go but I did feel like that I wasn't a 100%. I'd maybe say that I'm at the 70% mark. I'd just go with them. I don't want to cause any trouble or make them worry that I'm just at home all alone.
We drove to Manchester and it was a lovely drive. I miss having a car. It's so much more comfortable than having to take the tube. We parked 5 stops away to Manchester because that's where the VFS office was and Ed and I had to take the tram to Piccadilly Manchester and it was my first time taking the tram. It was incredibly slow. We just browsed around. I'm just lucky that despite being in the mall and looking at shoes and clothes from many stores that I didn't buy anything. After my shopping spree yesterday, I think my card deserves a break.
We ate lunch at Rosas, a Thai restaurant, and it was 7.5/10. Food wasn't the best but it was good. We met Jai and Jovel in Chinatown and they had some sushi. We were too full to even have anything else so we just went outside and waited for them. We even saw an Environmental Crime Police charge a Chinese guy for littering.
I was a bit shocked when they suggested that we go to Peak District because I wasn't prepared, I mean outfit-wise, to go. Since Ed missed his chance to hike on his birthday I tagged along. I was well enough to do a short hike. The journey was glorious. Acres of land adorned with gentle sheep and cattle grazing on the land, I think that was my favorite thing about this whole endeavour; seeing the animals. We got to Hope Valley in Peak District and the view was really something else. It's not justifiable with the pictures we took from our phones but it was really beautiful. The sun could have shone but regardless it was still too pretty. I took some shots of Ed and he looked handsome. He's even happy to debut his new pair of hiking shoes that he bought yesterday.
Drove home and bought some chinese food, some fried chicken, and some softdrinks from the shops. I was starting to feel sick again so I took some medications. Ed said that he feels something as well. Showered and arranged our bags for the trip home tomorrow. Today was such a lovely day.

[The Keihancarl Diaries: June 2, 2023]
Tumblr media
Hello everyone, Keihancarl here. I should’ve done the week right after POF 2023: Shizen, but for some reason, I ended up going to my hangout place instead. Anyway, this is my third mall-hopping trip since the pandemic, my second for this year. And where am I going? Manila, of course, with stopovers in SM City Valenzuela and SM City Grand Central, ultimately skipping Ayala Malls Cloverleaf due to time constraints.
Tumblr media
I feel like wearing something more comfortable, but still in line with my typical layered outfits. And that’s how I decided on my olive yellow shirt and black baseball shirt combo, the one I’ve worn on the third day of POF 2023: Shizen.
I really wanted to leave the house as early as possible, and I don’t want the heavy traffic along the way to ruin my mood. Well, I ended up leaving the house a little later than usual, and I have to deal with heavy traffic towards my first destination.
Tumblr media
I decided to take an alternate route, this time, passing through General Luis St. and MacArthur Highway, instead of Quirino Highway and Mindanao Avenue. It took me two hours to reach my first stop, SM City Valenzuela.
Tumblr media
A lot has changed since my last visit to the mall, almost 8 years ago. The mall itself had a makeover, the wavy hallway was converted into a straight one. The former bowling center became the Wellness Zone. Cyberzone opened at the third level, with the cinemas at the end of the hall. There was a tenant reshuffling, resulting in some shops transferring to other areas or floors.
Tumblr media
The SM Store on the second floor, opened in 2018, is quite smaller in terms of space, but still managed to fit almost everything in there. I also checked National Book Store and I saw an interesting comic, though I bought it at another branch in SM City Grand Central, which was my next stop.
Tumblr media
I reached the mall around 2:00 in the afternoon, and I couldn’t wait to check the entire mall area. The mall appeared to be quite massive though some areas are occupied by major anchors. Anyway, I visited both bookstores in the area, Fully Booked and National Book Store (where I bought the comic), as well as the Surplus shop. National Book Store’s space was incredibly small with fewer books and more office, school, and art supplies. I might be wrong about that, though, as it occupies around 4 tenant spaces (the enclosed space currently serves as the bookstore’s store room).
Tumblr media
The fifth level was well adorned with fake greenery, making it look like a faux garden area. The wooden elements throughout the mall gives it an even more premier feel, given the mix of tenants there.
Tumblr media
One can see the view of the Caloocan City skyline, along with LRT Monumento station. Too bad, there’s no overpass going to the other side of the station, but they’re probably working on it.
Tumblr media
I then proceed to my next stop, SM City San Lazaro (making it the third SM mall visited in a row). As always, face masks are required to board the LRT and MRT trains, with guards reminding the passengers to wear one before entering the station. Reaching the platform, I decided to buy a stored value ticket, and add a little more load to it. I took the LRT to Tayuman station.
Tumblr media
Reaching my next stop, I can see that SM City San Lazaro’s signage was updated, though it retained its green façade. I went inside the mall and checked a few shops, as well as taking a late lunch at Tokyo Tokyo, which is a gyoza donburi bowl. I then checked the rest of the mall afterward.
Tumblr media
Next stop, the Binondo malls (999 Mall, 168 Mall, and Lucky Chinatown Mall). As soon as I got there, I immediately head to the stall where I previously bought all of my Attack On Titan and Tokyo Ghoul shirts. I managed to buy not one, but two shirts: a black Jujutsu Kaisen shirt (featuring Yuji Itadori) and a beige Naruto shirt (featuring the main trio Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura). After that, I checked a few more stalls and then moved on to the nearby 168 Mall.
Tumblr media
At 168 Mall, I decided to check the stall where I bought my anime posters. It looks like a lot of K-pop merch have dominated the stall, with only a handful of anime merch (mostly posters) on display. At this point, I decided that I’ve already bought enough stuff (and spent a lot of money on the items I’ve bought so far) so I head to Lucky Chinatown Mall.
Tumblr media
Inside, the LCM West Wing (Cityplace Square), a milk tea shop, a yogurt shop, and a bakery opened at the ground floor. There’s a display at the West Wing’s atrium. At the bridgeway to the main mall (North Wing), there were colorful lanterns with drawings and messages in them. I decided to take a break at the cinema level, and sat down on one of the armchairs, which replaced the upholstered ones (like the ones on my previous visits).
Tumblr media
There was the Summer Cravings Market at the Prosperity Wing, with food stalls set up along the walkway.
Tumblr media
It was starting to get dark as I made my way to my next stop, SM City Manila. I took an e-trike to the renovated underpass near the Manila City Hall.
Tumblr media
Along the way, I saw the newly opened bridge on the eastern side of Jones Bridge (west if coming from Lawton) and the recently fire gutted Manila Central Post Office building. I wasn’t able to take photos, unfortunately, as I was seated next to the driver.
Tumblr media
The Lagusnilad underpass was closed for repair so there’s a slight traffic in the area. It looks like the top dome and the clock of the Manila City Hall was painted in gold.
Tumblr media
The pedestrian underpass had a makeover, as there are historical-themed murals on it. The Books From The Underground had already reopened as well. Also I noticed the Baybayin writing on the directional signage, which was really nice. I then proceeded to SM City Manila.
Tumblr media
Arriving at my next stop, I only checked the book shops inside the mall. It looks like there were some faux greenery on the stairs. Uniqlo has opened at the former NBS space, and the bookstore transferred on the lower ground floor, at the former Surplus’ space (the Surplus store had since moved to the upper floor, not sure if its the second or third floor).
Tumblr media
It was already dark when I decided to board the LRT to UN Avenue Station. Getting off, I took some pictures of the controversial Torre De Manila (with the lights on) and checked Times Square’s retail area. Booksale had already closed, replaced by a printing shop (I think).
Tumblr media
I decided to check Rizal Park first, stopping for a moment to take photos of the dancing fountain, and head towards Roxas Boulevard.
Tumblr media
Of course, I decided to take photos of the Rizal monument, and I manage to take at least one photo where the monument itself covered the hideous residential tower behind it. I’ve already done this once, about eight years ago, using my very first smartphone.
Tumblr media
Walking towards the Baywalk, I managed to take a glimpse of the area, and later, the Dolomite beach, which is only seen from the footbridge, as it is already closed at the moment.
Tumblr media
I took some photos of the Dolomite beach and then proceed to my final stop, Robinsons Place Manila.
Tumblr media
I didn’t check any of the shops at the mall, though I noticed some improvements. The escalator area at the former fountain is closed for renovations, and in some parts, the tiles have been replaced with new ones. I decided to have a fried mandu meal at Bonchon Chicken before heading home.
Tumblr media
I immediately took the UV Express to SM Fairview, and the traffic situation is light in most parts of Taft Avenue, España Boulevard, Quezon Avenue, and Commonwealth Avenue. Of course, I have to deal with traffic at North Fairview and Regalado Avenue (near SM Fairview). And that’s how my day went.
Tumblr media
So far, it’s been quite an experience, having visited four SM malls in one day (including SM City Grand Central), and 8 malls total. I manage to squeeze all of the destinations in a twelve-hour trip, though I lost more than a hour getting stuck in traffic. Will I experience the same thing if I took the usual route? Anyway, at least everything went well, thanks to my lucky charm.
I suppose this concludes the #FourWeekendPlan, as I managed to proceed with the last minute plans for a mall-hopping trip. Well then, I should plan my next mall-hopping trip, preferably somewhere that’s reachable by MRT Line 3.
That’s all for now. Keihancarl out.
Most of the pics (including mall-based photos and selfies) are from my private Instagram account, @kcox105. The pictures of the Manila City Hall, Rizal Park, Baywalk (Dolomite Beach), Torre De Manila, and the Lagusnilad (both vehicle and pedestrian underpass) are from my official account, @kcox_105.

Interesting Things To Do In Glendale, CA
So you're in Glendale, CA and looking for something to do? We're here to help. Here are some of our favorite spots around town that won't disappoint!
Tumblr media
Thai Town
Thai Town is a district in Los Angeles, California that has been described as the largest Thai community outside of Thailand. It covers several blocks in the heart of Los Angeles and is home to an array of Thai restaurants serving up authentic cuisine. This area has become so popular that it's one of the most visited places in Los Angeles, with many tourists flocking here for authentic Thai food and culture.

Tumblr media
You'll find Echo Park nestled between Downtown Los Angeles, Chinatown and Silver Lake on the east side of the L.A. River. There are also several attractions listed below for those who want something more active!
Echo Park has all sorts of great things to do, including:
Melrose Hill
Tumblr media
Melrose Hill is a great place to visit. There are excellent restaurants, shops, and people-watching. You can walk here or bike here or run there if you're feeling fit! It's a perfect place for picnicking too, with grassy areas that are ideal for laying out your blanket and watching the clouds drift by. If climbing a mountain sounds like fun to you (and it should!), then Melrose Hill might be the place for you: there are plenty of opportunities to scale rocks and boulders at this spot in Glendale!
If swimming is more up your alley than rock climbing, Melrose hill has got you covered on that front as well: there are places where it's safe enough to cool off in the water here—but please beware of alligators."
Silver Lake
Silver Lake is a neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. It's also the name of a small shopping center featuring restaurants and boutiques on Sunset Boulevard.
If you're looking for some interesting things to do in Glendale, take a stroll through Silver Lake.
Angels Point
Angels Point is a great place to watch the sunset. It's also a pretty good spot to see the city lights, and if you're lucky, you might be able to catch one of the planes flying overhead. If you're interested in taking pictures of sunsets or sunrises, this is definitely the place for you.
Glendale Galleria
Glendale Galleria is a shopping mall in Glendale, California. It is located in the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area and is one of the top 10 largest malls in the United States by gross leasable area. The mall contains over 230 stores, including four anchors (Macy's, JCPenney, Sears and Nordstrom), a food court and an ice rink.
The Glendale Galleria was built on land purchased from the Ralphs Grocery Company as part of its nearby supermarket development project; it opened on August 6th 1976 with approximately 80 stores as well as free parking for 3,000 cars. The original anchor tenants were JCPenney (150,000 sq ft.), Saks Fifth Avenue (125,000 sq ft.) and May Company California (110 000 sq ft.). In 1980 Montgomery Ward closed its store at the Galleria after only one year due to declining sales; shortly thereafter Federated Department Stores acquired both Wards retail divisions which resulted in a nationwide consolidation effort resulting in several store closures such as this particular location here at Glendale Galleria."
Griffith Park & Autry Museum of the American West
The Autry Museum of the American West is located in Griffith Park. The museum hosts a variety of exhibits that focus on the history of the American West and its wildlife, with a special emphasis on Native Americans and their cultures. The museum has a large collection of artifacts from different eras, including buffalo robes worn by Native Americans (which can be viewed through an interactive display), 19th century guns owned by famous outlaws such as Jesse James and Billy the Kid, and even a wagon used for cattle drives along America's western frontier.
Another interesting place to visit in Glendale is the Farmers Market at Brand Library & Art Center. It's held every Saturday morning from 9am-1pm at 5730 W Van Buren St., offering local produce grown by farmers near Los Angeles! You'll also find other vendors selling food items like sandwiches or desserts made with fresh ingredients straight outta California farms!
Glendale is an awesome place to visit or live.
Glendale is a great place to visit or live. With its many different neighborhoods and close proximity to Los Angeles and Burbank, Glendale has something for everyone. There are also many things to do in Glendale such as visiting the Autry Museum of the American West in Griffith Park, which can be accessed by driving up Western Avenue or taking the Gold Line from Union Station Downtown L.A., or visiting Melrose Hill which offers panoramic views of Downtown L.A., Hollywood Hills, Santa Monica Bay and Catalina Island from atop Mt Washington Drive where there is also a park with picnic tables (simply look for an area designated by painted white lines).
Glendale is a city that has a lot to offer. Whether you’re looking to visit the place or live here, there are many attractions that can appeal to everyone in your family. If you want some quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles without having to drive too far out of town, Glendale is definitely worth checking out!
