there's something so incredibly gut wrenching about luke's "i know you didn't want to be a halfblood" mirroring percy's "i didn't want to be a halfblood" monologue because luke has always been a dark mirror of percy, what percy could become but never would because at the end of the day percy's fatal flaw means that no matter how disillusioned he became with the gods, he would never betray his friends like luke did. that is their fundamental and crucial difference.

Okay but when Annabeth and Luke were explaining why Clarisse being the lightning thief was kept a secret, and it was Annabeth’s turn to talk, and halfway through, she looked at Luke? Girl KNEW something was up, okay? She’s always six steps ahead, but in that moment, she noticed a flaw. But then, without hesitation, once she turned to Luke because she TRUSTED him, he immediately affirmed the lie. He lied straight to her face! Not even a shadow of doubt in his face. To his sister! Who he planned to abandon!!
