China is Making Highly Advanced Self-Propelled Artillery - Technology Org
Some months ago China introduced a new self-propelled howitzer SH16, which is very different from many other weapons of this type. Now there is a wheeled version of the SH16 too and it will reportedly be developed for export markets.

A self-propelled howitzer is a complex artillery system that requires people to operate. The German Panzerhaubitze 2000, the Polish Krab, and the South Korean K9 Thunder typically have a crew of five, while the American M109 sometimes has as many as 6 soldiers in its crew. It takes several strong soldiers to load a howitzer. It is true that now the military tech is moving down the road of crew reduction. The PzH 2000 is being taught to work with four people, the K9A2 can get by with just three.
Howitzers with automatic loaders can be handled by much smaller crews. But there are not many of such weapons, because the automatic loading mechanism is a rather complex system, which can be unreliable at times. A very reliable loader is needed to really reduce the size of the crew.
The Swedish Archer, which is easily one of the most advanced self-propelled artillery systems in the world, can operate efficiently with a crew of just 3-4 people. If it was really needed, just one person would be enough for the Archer. The Czech howitzer DITA has a crew of just 2 people. These two howitzers are perfect for shoot-and-scoot operations, especially in scenarios where counter-battery fire is needed.
China’s new self-propelled howitzer SH16 joins the ranks of the world’s most advanced artillery systems in this regard, Tech.wp.pl reports. Its most important innovation is an unmanned, fully automated turret mounted on a tracked chassis with a crew of just 2 people.

As you can tell from the other examples mentioned, this is not entirely unique, but it shows that the Chinese are producing extremely advanced artillery systems and are not taking the cheapest route. It’s not like China lacks soldiers to man the simpler, cheaper howitzers. It’s just that the SH16 will work more efficiently, faster and, in the event of a war, will put fewer soldiers in danger.
The SH16 is reported to weigh 32 tonnes, 14 of which are the turret housing the 155mm gun. The same turret from the SH16, as announced in February of this year, will also be mounted on a wheeled 6×6 chassis.
Dennis Blasko, a former US defence attache in Beijing and Hong Kong, told Defense News that a wheeled version of the SH16 would be aimed at the export market.

By the way, the tracked version of the SH16 howitzer has not yet been shown in public much at all. That howitzer likely only exists in prototype form.
The war in Ukraine showed that self-propelled artillery is still very important in modern warfare. Especially howitzers that are powerful and quick to move before counter-battery fire and drones arrive.

2S1 Gvozdika vs M109 Paladin - Which Is Faster ?
The 2S1 Gvozdika (Russian: 2С1 «Гвоздика», "Carnation") is a Soviet self-propelled howitzer based on the MT-LBu multi-purpose chassis, mounting a 122 mm 2A18 howitzer. "2S1" is its GRAU designation. An alternative Russian designation is SAU-122 but in the Russian Army it is commonly known as Gvozdika. The 2S1 is fully amphibious with very little preparation, and once afloat is propelled by its tracks. A variety of track widths are available to allow the 2S1 to operate in snow or swamp conditions. It is NBC protected and has infrared night-vision capability.

The M109 is an American 155 mm turreted self-propelled howitzer, first introduced in the early 1960s to replace the M44. It has been upgraded a number of times, most recently to the M109A7. The M109 family is the most common Western indirect-fire support weapon of maneuver brigades of armored and mechanized infantry divisions.
The M109 has a crew of four: the section chief/commander, the driver, the gunner, and the ammunition handler/loader. The chief or gunner aims the cannon left or right (deflection) and up and down (quadrant).

The Vacuum Cleaner Galaxy M109, a barred spiral 60 million light-years away. Home to a trillion stars and surrounded by several other more distant barred spirals. It's the brightest member of a group of 80 other galaxies known as the Ursa Major Galaxy Cluster.
Remarkably boring to look at otherwise, but this is a couple nights of integration since it's typically super faint.

The Vacuum Cleaner Galaxy, M109 // Ian Gorin
M109 was probably discovered by Messier in 1781 while looking in the area for objects discovered by Méchain. He did not note its position, and so it failed to make it into his catalog. William Herschel (1738-1822) independently discovered it in 1789.
It was added to Messier's catalog in 1953 by Owen Gingerich (1930-2023) who identified it as the 109th entry based on Messier's notes. However, in 2006, Henk Bril (b. 1962) presented evidence that this galaxy may not be the true 109th entry. Instead, a nearby galaxy of the same galaxy group, NGC 3953, might be what Messier saw. Regardless, this galaxy is generally accepted as M109.
Although, I have no idea why we call it the Vacuum Cleaner Galaxy.

A Spanish M109 comes ashore at El Omayed, Egypt during Exercise BRIGHT STAR, October 20th, 2001.
The M109 is an American self-propelled howitzer used by numerous nations. First developed in the 1960s, the M109 has since then seen numerous upgrades and variants. Pictured is a Spanish M109A5, which uses a slightly different gun from previous variants, has a better engine, and can fire rocket-assisted projectiles.

I had to make an actual post about this:
Yesterday evening, i saw a clip from the IOF that showed a soldier in an inflatable dinosaur costume refilling the ammunition of an M109 howitzer. Later in the same clip, the howitzer fires into Gaza, causing (presumably) unspeakable damage.
Absolutely appalling. These are people so void of emotion and empathy that they turn the ruthless murder of thousands of innocent civilians into sport. How can a human being voluntarily do such a horrible thing? It boils down to psychology. People are more likely to inflict suffering when being ordered or threatened to do so. That may be true for some, but not for the Zionists. They truly, deep down, in every soldier, ingrain a sense of what can only be described as Nazism. The State of Israel truly has become what tried to kill them. They have technology that detects trucks with aid, or innocent people trying to escape, and annihilates whatever it detects as "other" with an automatic cannon. The Zionists have turned the Gaza strip into the largest death camp ever seen in all of human history. 2 million people, all with stories, lives, and hardships. people who lived, loved, laughed, learned and lost. They are systematically eliminating the Gaza Strip and attacking and erasing it's history and culture.
The worst part: Nobody cares. Israel can just slip by international law like sand through your fingers. The ICJ has tried and failed on numerous occasions to stop Israel, but to no avail. So if the government won't do it, we will. Regular, average people with a sense of decency should rise up and protest for Gaza. And not just at universities and at major events.
Everyone, everywhere, should protest. New York, Boston, LA, Vegas, San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, Atlanta, Nashville, Orlando, Jacksonville, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Austin, and countless others. Boycott. Be loud, be memorable.
But don't get violent. Fighting violence with violence is not the right thing. Think about something similar to the March on Washington in 1963. We must send a clear message to America and its European vassals that we do not stand firm this. The Nakba did not end in 1948. It is a 76 year long catastrophe for millions.
From The River to the Sea, Palestine WILL BE FREE
this post kinda deviated a lil bit but i got the point across so its fine
