Summary: You can’t stand Floyd Leech. Who does he think he is, squeezing you within an inch of your life all the time? You question whether you’ll be able to last much longer and devise a plan to deter the eel for good.
However, perhaps you go a bit too far? After all, ending up in a back brace is never a good thing, and Floyd isn’t unscathed by your antics either.
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•
Floyd Leech was a bear trap in a blazer: sharp teeth, powerful arms, and a proficiency for clamping them around anyone he fancied. When he swaggered down the NRC corridors everyone made way for him. It was the only time Riddle was grateful for his shortness, using it to hide amongst the crowds.
However, you were Floyd’s favourite thing to hold. A human from another world? How fascinating. How far could your bones go without breaking? How hard would you fight to get away from him? Were humans built differently in your world to Twisted Wonderland? There was only one way to find out, and Floyd used every opportunity to answer his questions.
•~•~•~•~•
The lamps dimmed across the Monstro Lounge, blanketing the polished surfaces in milky blue light. The end of your shift was minutes away. Your hands ached from cleaning tables, your socks pooled about your ankles, and condiments stained your waiting uniform. You couldn’t wait to slide into your broken bed back in Ramshackle. Lumpy mattresses and sharp springs are surprisingly comfortable when you’re exhausted.
“Ne, Shrimpy~”
You winced. No, not him. Not now.
Floyd’s voice sounded like a cheese grater was being rubbed against his larynx. Not wanting to provoke him in any way, you spun on your heels – a smile prepared on your face. But Floyd was closer than you thought. Your nose stopped centimetres from his chest. He towered over you, a dish rag slung over his shoulder and a serving tray tucked under his arm.
How could you have forgotten?
Floyd had his shift after you on Tuesdays. Usually you would have bundled your things into your bag and slipped away before the eel could make it onto the restaurant floor. But Monstro Lounge had been so busy this evening that you’d not had time.
“You look tired, Shrimpy.”
You shrugged, cracking your neck. Bad move.
Floyd’s fingers twitched at his side, like they itched to get a hold of you. “Ne~ you’re like an instrument. Oh! Does your neck make one note, and perhaps your back another? Could I play ‘Under the Sea’ just by squeezing you a certain way?~”
You jumped back. “No. Floyd, please. You grew up underwater. Your bone density is greater than mine. You can’t bear hug humans and expect them to hold out as well as Jade, or Azul.”
“I’m human now, too.” His voice became dark. “Compared to my eel form, I barely have any strength.”
You took another step back and collided into something. An identical pair of gold and grey eyes stared down at you, cruel and calculating.
“Floyd, you shouldn’t tease our colleagues,” mused Jade. “Azul needs all the help he can get on busy nights such as this. We can’t have people resigning because the conditions aren’t workable.”
Floyd slouched and rolled his eyes. “But look at them, Jade. Shrimpy looks so tense and tight.”
Jade glanced at you briefly. There was no pity in his face. In fact, there was nothing at all. Just bland contemplation, as if dealing with his brother’s whims was written into his genetic makeup. “You can play chiropractor tomorrow.” Your eyes widened, pushing a tiny grin onto Jade’s face. “For now, Y/N is free to go. Azul doesn’t pay people for working over their contracted hours. This isn’t a hostage situation.”
Floyd grit his teeth.
“Is it?”
You took the opportunity to slink away. Inside the kitchen you bumped into a student cooking pasta. He cursed as uncooked shells fell to the floor, snapping under your shoes like bones. After apologising you threw your dirty rag into the laundry bin and made for Ramshackle.
•~•~•~•~•
Your mind buzzed.
You had to do something. Anything. You knew Floyd would never respect your boundaries not to be squeezed. What was it about Jade that always made his brother listen? Both brothers were sadists, that was for certain. But Jade got inside people’s heads - even his own brother’s. Perhaps you ought to take a leaf out of his notebook, and traumatise Floyd into leaving you alone?
You had your plan before you got home. First, you needed to visit Ortho Shroud.
•~•~•~•~•~•
Tomorrow came too quickly. After washing your serving uniform you returned to Octavinelle to put it to your locker - a perfect excuse to be near the kitchen.
The packets of uncooked pasta were where you remembered them. Checking that the coast was clear, you slid a handful into your pocket and slipped through the door into the Monstro Lounge in search of your target.
Despite being closed for service, Octavinelle students still used the lounge as a communal area. Third years swilled alcohol in tumblers, while younger students contented themselves with mocktails and table snacks. The hubbub was cordial and gentle with profanity occasionally coming form the snooker table.
Floyd was draped across the bar as Jade mixed drinks. You paused to study him: he couldn’t have looked more bored. Periods between lessons – excluding club time – left the man with very little to occupy himself. Perfect, you thought. He’d likely jump at the chance to make good on his brother’s declaration yesterday.
You discreetly slid two of the pasta shells inside your mouth, positioning them over the molars.
“Hey gents,” you cooed. Jade’s eyes widened with surprise as you sat on the bar stool. No doubt he was stunned that you’d place yourself near Floyd so willingly.
“Ahh, Prefect. Can I get you anything?”
“Just a cup of ice, please. I need to put something on my neck.”
Floyd snapped up, like a rake handle when the bottom is stepped on. “Still having trouble with it, Shrimpy?”
You pretended to seethe as you rubbed it. Floyd didn’t need any further provoking. He slid off the stool and wrapped his long arms around you. You feigned panic, shifting to try and get away from him. As effortlessly as picking up a chair, Floyd swung you into the air and pressed you against himself. You felt his muscles tense around you, practically solidifying into stone.
He held you tighter, and tighter, until-
CRUNCH!
You bit down on the pasta.
Jade dropped the glass he was polishing. The whole room stilled. No one dared breathe as they watched you go limp in Floyd’s arms, thinking the worst…thinking Floyd had finally snapped someone’s spine.
Floyd was deathly still. But then his arms started to tremble. Shake.
“Well don’t just stand there!” cried one of the students. “Get them to the infirmary!”
If you hadn’t been looking straight at him, you never would have guessed the person holding you was Floyd. His arms drew you so tenderly to his chest, cradling you as if you were made of glass. He tried to keep you as straight as possible in fear of making your condition worse. You felt wicked but if you didn’t follow this through things would never improve.
Within moments Floyd was heading for the portal mirror. Jade took off his apron and followed him.
•~•~•~•~•~•
Ortho was waiting in the infirmary as you’d instructed. The school nurse was often absent, so it wasn’t uncommon for the robot boy to take up her shifts. Idia had installed endless medical data into his hard drive. Acting ones, too.
“Y/N!” Ortho gasped when Floyd brought you in. He was white as a ghost, his heart thrumming in his chest as if it might burst out of him.
“Set them down,” Ortho instructed. “Gently.”
Floyd slipped you onto a hospital bed, still giddy with worry. Sensing his fragility, Jade dropped a hand onto Floyd’s shoulder. The weight helped to steady him, but by no means distracted from the situation. Stale sunlight filtered through the dusty windows, catching on Floyd’s dewy eyes.
Ortho took your hands and laid them palms-up at your sides. “I’m going to x-ray you now, Y/N. You don’t have to respond. Just stay very still.”
You obeyed. The robot took to the air and hovered above your bed, his eyes turning blue as he scanned you from head to toe. It was a challenge not to laugh at his grave little face.
“It’s not good news,” he sighed, blinking off the scanner. “Y/N has two ruptured discs.”
Floyd let out a mournful wail and dropped to his knees. His shaking fingers found yours and curled around them, a silent beg for forgiveness. “Can you fix them?”
You could see the guilt on Ortho’s face from this charade, but a discreet wink encouraged him to keep up the act. “Hard to say. Big brother is clever, but he doesn’t know everything. And so, nor do I. I’ll have to start working while the injury is fresh. So if you two wouldn’t mind leaving-“
Floyd bounced back up and dragged Jade by the collar out of the infirmary.
•~•~•~•~•~•
You didn’t move until their footsteps – and Jade’s irritated scolds – fell quiet.
Sighing with relief, you spat the pasta shells into a glass by your bed and high-fived Ortho. The little robot seemed very pleased with himself. “I suggest we put you in a back brace to make it seem extra convincing.”
“If you want to be an actor I can put a good word in to Vil for you. That performance was seamless.”
“Oh stop!” The tips of Ortho’s hair turned a bashful pink. “That was luck. I still don’t understand the nuance of faking emotions. I’m still trying to understand them in general. But, I have to say, Floyd did seem very distressed. Which is…bad?”
That made you chuckle. “Not at all. You still have much to learn.”
•~•~•~•~•~•
If you thought Floyd wouldn’t leave you alone before, he certainly didn’t now. While you were around him he watched you like a hawk, offering to carry you up flights of stairs and hold your books. He could also barely get through a sentence without sliding in the word ‘sorry’.
You’d returned to working at the Monstro Lounge a few days later and Azul had rewarded your tenacity with a dinner on the house, complete with dessert. Did your lies make you feel bad? Not at all. You’d become quite the celebrity around NRC. Many students had come up to thank you for ‘taking one for the team’, because apparently Floyd hadn’t squeezed anyone since the incident.
“Maybe Glassfish would be a better name for you, Shrimpy,” he teased as he brought your free meal over to you. You’d gotten to sit in a booth right by the fist tank, the most comfortable and aesthetic in the house.
But…
Perhaps the universe wanted to punish you for traumatising the poor eel?
Suddenly, Floyd skidded on a serviette. He clumsily set the plate down before falling onto you, throwing his hand out to stop himself. You’d forgotten to take the spare pasta shells out of your pocket.
When Floyd’s palm struck it there came that familiar crunch.
“Did I do it again? Are you alright?" Floyd staggered back, mortified. "Was it your hip? Your leg? Do you need Ortho? Shall I get Azul? Or even Malleus? I don’t care if he’s big and scary, he’s good at healing magic…”
He trailed off when he saw your face. Why weren’t you writhing in agony? You just looked shocked. Like a deer caught in headlights. Floyd raised his eyebrow as he stalked forward, bracing his hands on the back of the booth and the table to block your escape.
You jerked backwards at his closeness, a move far too energetic for someone with a damaged back.
Floyd didn’t ask permission before diving into your pocket. At first he seemed bemused to find uncooked pasta, but then he stared ruefully into your eyes as he slowly clenched his fist.
•~•~•~•~•~•
You didn’t remember hearing the pasta break. Within seconds you’d vaulted over the back of the booth and were running towards the Monstro Lounge door. Your cover was not only blown, it was in ashes.
Floyd stared after you in bewilderment. How cunning and clever you had been. How exciting...
“When I get my hands on you,” he cried, jumping out of the booth, “I’m dragging you back here and squeezing you in my eel form!” A crazed smile was on his face. “I bet I can play ‘Under the Sea’ with your back, but there’s only one way to find out.”

Yuu and reader but
But reader is forgettable.
Imagine Reader who arrived in Twisted Wonderland with Yuu, they got along very well together and with Grim, but Yuu and Grim end up abandoning Reader, creating their group of friends that we all know. Reader tries to approach them, become friends with them, but without success.
And then Reader finds himself alone, and everyone acts as if he doesn't exist. So much so that Reader questions his existence and becomes very quiet.
The ghosts realize this and spend time with Reader, and Reader considers them his only true friends. I'm pretty sure Reader would have tried to kill himself to become a ghost and join the ghosts gang but would have failed.
Reader would have stopped going to class, some teachers (Trein and Crewel) would have noticed and talked to him about it.
Reader walks around campus at all hours without anyone noticing him (he would have already been dancing in class and singing loudly and out of tune and no one would have noticed).
In the end, Reader is left alone for so long, talking to no one except the ghosts, that he forgets his name (the ghosts call him "Little Ghost").
And at book 5, he meets Chenya. And this is how it happens :
“What do you do alone ?” Chenya asked.
"Wait... Are you talking to me ?" Reader asked sitting in a tree, looking left and right before looking at Chenya.
"Yeah ? There's no one else around." the cat remarked amusedly.
"Oh- sorry I'm not used to people seeing me !" Reader said with a smile on his face, excited that someone alive was talking to him.
"Huh ? Why ?" Chenya asked, frowning in confusion.
“Well, people still act like I’m not there, like I don’t exist.” Reader explained. “Exept ghosts, you’re the first to talk to me in months !”
“oh…” Chenya looked worried. “And what’s your name ?”
"Oh I'm-huh..." Reader said before frowning.
“Well, hello ‘huh’, I’m Chenya.” Chenya said trying to lighten the mood.
“Nah, nah.. I don’t remember my name.” Reader said sounding scared, his breathing quickening.
“huh ?”
"What's my name? What's my name? Who am I? I forgot? I forgot..."
"Hey, calm down, you'll remember.." Chenya tried to calmly reassure.
"No- no ! You're not supposed to notice me or talk to me ! Go with more important people, people who remember their names, who they are !" (Reader having an existential crisis <3)
In the end, Chenya manages to calm Reader down, and he calls him "Little Ghost" (like ghosts) until they find his name.
After that, Chenya will talk about that as his friends at the RSA (like Neige), and they would do all for create a new identity at Reader and after that they will take him with them at the RSA (The RSA director was the one that have the idea of the new identity).
Sam friends of the other side won't stop crying about "The child that have forget his name", making Sam confused (they never answer at his questions about him).
And Trein would be the one finding out that Reader have left three days later.
If nobody write that, I will write it myself.

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•
Summary: Wracked with remorse for triggering Azul’s overblot, you seek out the fallen businessman in hopes of earning his forgiveness.
After finding him on the outskirts of Octavinelle, an unexpected fight ensues and you end up back in his tentacles. But this time they’re gentle, comforting you after a painful truth is revealed.
Sequel to Tentacle Trapped. However, you can read this fic without reading the first instalment.
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•
Over the weeks since Azul’s overblot you’d made an effort to check up on how he was doing. Admittedly, you had been hesitant at first. It had taken ages for the suction cup marks to fade off your skin; a constant reminder of the horrors you could have faced if Jade hadn’t saved you.
Being on the receiving end of all the rage and injustice Azul felt towards his childhood had put into perspective the extent of his pain, and you couldn’t - in good conscience - pretend all was now fine. Especially since you had played a major role in triggering his overblot.
•~•~•~•~•
Unfortunately, Azul was nowhere to be found today. You’d checked the classrooms, the cafeteria, Monstro Lounge, and even asked Jade if he’d knock on Azul’s bedroom door, but the eel had come back alone.
“Azul has been acting erratically of late,” said Jade, ushering you towards the front door of the dormitory. You were wary. If he was seeing you out, why wasn’t he steering you to the portal mirror? “Going on morning walks. Afternoon walks. Evening walks, with nothing on his person. He owes me for the extra duties I’ve had to fulfil in his absence. A part of me is debating whether to challenge him for the title of dorm leader.”
You cringed at the thought of Jade running Octavinelle. The eel seemed to sense your discomfort and beamed a sinister grin at you. “But I digress. The currents don’t get strong until late into the night. Chances are Azul’s footprints are still visible in the sand.”
With a brisk nudge Jade tipped you out of the entrance hall and into the crisp ocean. The effects of the breathing enchantment surrounding the dormitory lightly stung the space behind your nose.
“Safe travels, Prefect. Oh, and if you run into a shark…tough.”
•~•~•~•~•
Waking through water was laborious. You might have been able to breathe sufficiently, but you still had to drag yourself hundreds of yards into the deep with kilolitres of brine weighing you down. It felt like a boulder was strapped to your back.
Suddenly, about a mile from the dorm the shape of the footprints changed.
You crouched down to get a better look.
What had once been the definite sole of a shoe had become a long groove in the sand, like someone had dragged a pole through it.
Your heart lurched in your chest. Drag marks? Out here in the open ocean there were no street lamps, or ways of communication. What if Azul had run into a shark? Or someone had taken the opportunity to jump him? Jade had said Azul went for walks with nothing on him. Not even his magic pen. And his contract career had no doubt made him enemies.
“Azul!” you screamed, cupping your hands around your mouth. There came no reply. The call left you breathless. This far from the dormitory the breathing enchantment was thin. But you couldn’t get the thought of Azul being hurt out of your head. Rasping, you turned to call in the other direction when something soft slid over your mouth.
You recognised the sensation. The familiar prickle of suction cups caressed your cheeks as a tentacle wrapped around your face. Your eyes trailed its length until its owner came into view. Azul’s lilac skin and other gelatinous tentacles were just as you remembered. They snapped you back to his overblot, making your breathing quicken. Azul tightened the grip around your mouth as a silent scold.
“I’m going to take it away,” he cautioned, “and you’re going to breath normally.” You nodded in understanding. Azul peeled his tentacle off, and looked like he was about to burst into a fit of laughter. It took you a moment to guess why: dozens of suction cup marks probably peppered your face again. Livid, you shoved him. It broke the dam, and he exploded into chuckles.
It was mirthful, without restraint or professionalism.
Your anger didn’t stand a chance against it. You were relieved to see him. Before you could think, you threw yourself forward and wrapped your arms around him. Azul went stiff as a board. You were touching him. The real him. His real form. So tenderly and sweetly. The octopus suddenly became aware of himself. Pathetic, and soft, and weak.
Azul wriggled out of your arms and drew back to look at you. “Why are you here?” Suspicion spiked his gaze. “I can take these impromptu meetings in my human form, but why have you sought me out now? Is it to make fun of me? Go on then.” He opened his arms and tossed his head back. “Lay it on me. There’s nothing you can say that I haven’t already heard. And you’ve already seen me at my worst.”
You looked at the floor. “Azul, I don’t blame you for thinking the worst of me after what I did, but I’m not here to make things worse between us.”
Azul sighed. “You’re not? I’d much rather you did. I’d pick that over having my life’s work destroyed.”
After Leona had destroyed the contracts it had taken a while for the effects to kick in, but day by day Azul had lost the talents he’d coveted. His flawless skin had spots on it, his words had lost their melodic trill, and he looked like he’d gone up a dress size.
“There’s nothing to pick on.” You were being honest. “You look fine.”
“Don’t lie-“
“I’m not! And why are you out here, Azul? All on your own? Miles from anyone. What if something happened to you? What if a shark-“
One of Azul’s tentacles slammed into your gut. You doubled over in pain as it coiled itself up around your arms, your waist, your chest, and finally slinked itself around your neck. Your body responded, twisting and writhing, but it was no use. Azul’s pupils thinned into horizontal slits, challenging you cruelly. Soft as the tentacles were, they were strong. It had only taken one to put you out of commission and the lightest squeeze would sever your airway completely.
“I’d be fine.”
“Point taken,” you said sheepishly.
“Sharks aren’t indigenous to these waters. Don’t let Jade get inside your head. It was impossible to get the first-years to scrub the algae off the dorm spires without them crying about getting eaten. And as for your question…I’m out here because I need to order things.”
“Order things?”
Azul drew his tentacle away. His expression was distant, like his mind was anywhere else but with you. “In my head. You know why I hate this body. How much I’ve suffered inside it. After all, you can only go so many years being picked on for your appearance before you decide to change it.”
“So why are you in this form now?” You tilted your head in curiosity. “The breathing spell still works out here. You could have been human.”
“Did you not see the footprints? I was human until I was out of sight from the dorm. But what would be the point in being human while trying to process what I truly am? I’ve still got to live with myself. When I go home, I will look like this.”
“I just don’t understand what you don’t see. There’s nothing wrong with you.”
Azul rolled his eyes and pushed past you. Speaking with you seemed to be a chore. “Go back. Tell Jade I’ll be home before Monstro Lounge opens for dinner.”
You grabbed his arm. “Azul-“ A tentacle shoved you off.
“There’s nothing you can say to me!” Forgetting that he wanted to be alone, Azul veered on you and shoved you briskly in the chest. You stumbled back, scuffing your ankle on a rock. The pain was sharp but you bit back your cry. “You don’t understand!” Azul’s lilac cheeks had turned purple with rage. “You can’t understand! All those years. My whole life. Don’t even try to cheer me up. You have no idea where to begin!”
Something snapped inside you.
“I don’t know?” You gripped your shirt and stomped forward. Azul drew back in surprise. “I don’t know what it’s like to crave respect, but settle for being left alone? Because every day brings another jab to my character, or my appearance, or my ability?”
Your words froze Azul. His shoulders stayed locked by his ears – poised and defensive – but his face softened. Perhaps a little too much. His cheeks went from purple to pale, his lips appearing almost white. He looked like he’d faint, but you didn’t care. It meant he was listening. An improvement on the last time you’d tried to make him see sense.
“Don’t tell me what I feel! Or what I understand!” Tears stung your eyes. “I know the pain of feeling so pathetic and useless you wonder if there’s any point to you at all. Even now-“
“Now?”
“I have no magic!” you screamed. Your throat was ripped raw. “It takes me hours to complete a task any mage could do in minutes. I have nothing! I am nothing! I can’t contact my family. I’m poor. I’m weak. I don’t understand how this world works.” You rambled off as your face swelled with emotion. Luckily, the sea water carried away your tears but the effect of them remained. “And do people really like me, or do they see me as entertainment? As a show? Something to compare themselves to and be reminded how lucky and strong they are. Is that why they spend time with me? Do people watch me struggle, and laugh?”
Azul started sobbing.
The sound wrested you back into yourself. You were meant to comfort the merman, not make him cry. And especially not make this all about yourself. Shame blanketed you. “Azul?” You reached forward and took him by the shoulders. He just kept sobbing, his head in his hands. You pulled him closer and bound him in a tight hug.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to shout.”
Azul couldn’t speak. He was near hysterics, barely managing a few syllables at a time. You shushed him. There was nothing he could say. Nothing he needed to. His chest heaved against yours, completely surrendering himself as he wrapped you in his own trembling arms.
But his arms weren’t enough. It didn’t seem like he could get close enough to you. You could sense the hesitation in his touch as the first tentacle crawled across your shoulder. The suction cups barely gripped you, so you leant into them for reassurance.
It was the first time Azul had used his octopus form to be gentle with you. A part of your mind flashed back to the overblot, for when his tentacles had been used to restrain rather than embrace, but his softness usurped all your concerns.
The tentacle wrapped itself down your arm. Another mirrored the first, curling from your biceps to your wrist. You flinched at their coolness, like silk sleeves were being draped over your arms.
You didn’t pull back. If Azul needed someone to hold you would gladly fill the role. Side to side you rocked him, a gentle and soothing sway.
It prompted two more tentacles to reach out for you. One went to cup the back of your head while the other snaked around your lower back. It squeezed in support and - trusting Azul’s intentions - you let yourself drop. The tentacle held you up easily. The one around your head played with your hair, lifting and curling the strands around itself.
Every part of you seemed to fascinate him.
“You’re not entertainment,” he breathed.
Fresh tears surged into your eyes. Azul felt their warmth as you buried your face into his shoulder. He pressed you closer. His tentacles held you tighter, like he was trying to wring the sadness out of you.
•~•~•~•~•
When Azul at last drew back, the tentacle around your head slid under your chin and turned your face to look at him. His cerulean irises shone against his red sclera.
You felt embarrassed for exposing yourself to him, but when you connect with someone so deeply it’s pointless to pretend. How can you hide a truth they know as deeply as you do?
Azul’s hands rested on your shoulders and guided you down to the sea floor. The remaining tentacles cushioned you against the rocks and silt, stroking your legs tenderly.
“Azul?”
He hummed inquisitively.
“I’m not daft enough to believe I’ll get rid of years of dark thoughts and insecurity…but…” You choked on your words. Azul sat patiently. The way he looked at you was unlike anyone else had. There was nothing in his eyes except curiosity. Disbelief. You felt as though he would wait hours just to finish what you had to say. “You’re incredible,” you said.
“I’m not.”
“You are. You’re so quick to listen to bad things, why not the good?”
“Take your own advice.”
“Just, listen.” Azul relented. “You coveted what you could do. But you’ve earnt who you are. Where are your bullies now? Are they running successful restaurants while getting top grades?”
“I don’t even remember them.”
“So why care about what they said?” You squeezed his hands. A blush rose to his face, but you pretended you didn’t see it. “When they were children no less. I know it hurt at the time but kids are idiots. Just ask Leona.”
That got a laugh. “But they were right. I am clumsy, and squishy, and-“
“I’m not complaining.”
Azul’s eyes snapped to you. His blush deepened.
“I’ve…never been held like this.” You glanced at the tentacles around you. The tips of them continued their curling, as if they had a mind of their own. A blush was drawn out of you as they shifted over your figure, brushing over your sensitive waist and collarbone. Answer enough.
“Y/N?”
You leant forward.
Azul didn’t seem to know what he wanted to say. He tried the beginning of several sentences before settling on: “Thank you for saving me.”
“But it was my fault-“
The tentacle under your chin whipped to your mouth. You glared at him, your curse coming out muffled, but Azul bat his eyelashes innocently. You could have sworn one of the suction cups kissed your lips. A blush coated your entire face. Azul quickly drew the tentacle away. It curled and uncurled itself in rapid succession before he hid it behind his back, seemingly pleased with what it had just done.
“We-We’ll draw a line under it.”
You cocked your chin in agreement.
•~•~•~•~•
The water had turned a dark amber around you. The sun was nothing more than a buttery speck, rippling above the surface of the water.
Azul drew you up and dropped his tentacles. Your body pricked with gooseflesh as water rushed onto your freed skin, feeling as though you’d just opened the window after stepping out of a hot shower. Azul excused himself before disappearing behind a rock. He came back minutes later fully clothed and in human form. “I would have carried you back to the dorm but I’m still not…”
“It’s okay.” You took his hand. Azul’s palm grew clammy but he didn’t pull away. “Just until we get within sight of the dorm.” You winked at him cheekily. “Got to stay professional after all.”
“Agreed. Oh, and Y/N, if you need a job at Monstro Lounge to earn a bit of extra money, just ask.”
The minimal allowance Crowley gave you, and the state of Ramshackle, was incentive enough. “I’m yours. But I won’t be signing a contract,”
Azul raised an eyebrow, a cunning smirk on his face. Just like that he slipped seamlessly back into his business persona.
“My dear, Y/N,” he cooed. “You said it yourself. I either covet or earn. And I’d much rather earn you.”

Author note: Here it is! The sequel!
I love writing Azul because I connect with him the most out of all the characters in TWST. The man deserves to snap out of his (overly) self-critical nature and love himself.
But, of course, things are never that easy. Falling is easy, climbing back up takes work.
I hoped you enjoyed reading.
Please leave a comment/reblogs with comments. They are greatly appreciated. My TWST OC ask box is open.

DRACONIANS WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED BY QUEEN MALEFICIA 😭😭‼️‼️‼️✨🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 MALLEUS CRUMBSSSS HOOOOORAYYYYY ✨✨✨✨💖💖💖💞💞💞💖💞💖💞💖💞💖💞💖💞💖💞
Thank you Koono Sumire-sensei(the manga artist) for believing in the "Malleus chubby cheeks" agenda 🙏🏻🙏🏻✨💖💞💖 eternally grateful how round than usual his faces are here,,, he's so cute 😭💞(usually Malleus' faces are drawn like he's Sebastian (rough and very masculine lol) ilysm artist who draws Malleus like a cutiepie 😔🙏🏻💖💚💚)
in my world, Yuuta already eats ramen with Malleus at this point lol THAT is a very healthy and beautiful dragon 💚💚💚💖💖
ALSOO
Tumblr media Tumblr media
IM SENSING A PATTERN.... thank you MalleYuu for inventing height difference with your partner trope ✨✨🙏🏻🙏🏻‼️‼️🥺🥺🥺
ALSO this makes me squeal, the Yuu's really look like at Malleus like he's an interesting specimen🤣🤣🤣 LIKE DO YOU SEE HOW SCRUTINIZED YUUKA WAS WITH HIM AOHDKHAKJDKA THEM YUUS KNOWS NO FEAR 😭😭😭‼️‼️
source
edit:
ALSO there really was GARGOYLES AT RAMSHACKLE!!! 😭😭😭 I'VE ALWAYS BEEN CURIOUS HOW THEY LOOK LIKE but we never got a view of it until now(?) bcs Ramshackle s pictures are usually not that detailed or the mansion is so far away lol
Yuu's scrimblo gargoyle who protected us all this time so that the roof wouldn't crumble even if theres ceiling leaks....🙏🏻🙏🏻✨✨💞 THANKS TSUNOTARO‼️‼️✨✨✨
Tumblr media
and now this makes me sad, he's at this dialogue where he's explaining that gargoyles are scary and modelled after monsters but they're also useful and protects infrastructures KNOWING BOOK 7,,,, NSKDNKSD 💔💔💔💔
on another thought, i appreciate the writing of Malleus interpretating gargoyles like this,,, its like so emotionally empathetic 😭 which is in contrast to the interpretation that he's selfish and unable to connect with feelings lol I guess he really only emphatize something when it has a relation to him?
I love that Ramshackle gargoyles looks like a dragon with no wings, its like the Eastern dragon decorations from Diasomnia's Halloween 😭💚✨ no wonder Malleus is attached to Ramshackle lol maybe he has preference over dragon gargoyles lol

TWST Incorrect Quotes #3
Yuu, Lilia, Silver and Sebek are lost in a sea of people, trying to find Malleus.
Sebek: WAKA SAMA!!! WHERE ARE YOU?!
Silver: Shouting that won’t solve our problem…
Yuu: I’ve got a better idea!
*Yuu proceeds to inhale and then exhale. They then shout at the top of their lungs*
Yuu: YUU SUCKS!!!!!!
Malleus then comes rushing up to them
Malleus: WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT MY DEAR-?!?
Malleus: Oh! Hello Child of Man 🙂
Lilia: *Smiling*

Part 2 of this!
Tumblr media
*After the interview, it was cut short*
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: Mal?
Malleus: ...yes?
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: HOW?! how is it that we're even married?
Malleus: Well-
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: We haven't even dated each other?!
Malleus: ...
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: Look, it's not that I mind, really but-
Malleus: Really? ☺️
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: Not the point Mal! How did this even happen? And for an entire year?!
Mc/Y/N/Yuu, turns to Mal: Mind explaining?
Malleus: Well, you were the one to court me
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: ...Me?
Malleus: Yes, do you remember around a year ago the time you gifted me a new tamagotchi, coupled with a pretty rock with a small card saying "love you"?
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: Yes? It was a while ago, but yea
Malleus: Well, I thought that was you courting me, dear
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: ...
Malleus: ...
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: You thought that I was courting because I gave you a rock? A simple rock?
Malleus: Correction, a very pretty rock, but yes
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: Please don't tell me this is the way faes court?
Malleus: Well, not exactly. Instead of the, VERY, pretty rock you gave me we usually find or buy an unpolished emerald rock and give it to the person we wish to court.
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: AN EMERALD?! UNPOLISHED EMERALD?! I gave you nothing close to that!
Malleus: Well, I assumed that given your living situation and expenses you sadly had to use a pretty rock you found instead of the emerald
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: Mal, you do know that our way of "courting" is very different, right?
Malleus: I am aware, but I assumed you knew
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: ...
Mc/Y/N/Yuu, sighs: Okay, okay- wait- this was when?
Malleus: A month before we got married
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: A MONTH?!
Malleus: Yes, a month, I wished to do it sooner but thought I'd wait to respect your human traditions. Lilla also said patience is key ☺️
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: MAL A MONTH IS TOO SOON?
Malleus: It is? 😔
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: YES BUT-
Mc/Y/N/Yuu, sighing: WHEN?! HOW DID WE EVEN HAVE A WEDDING?
Malleus: Dear, the event I held a year ago in Diasomnia's courtyard was our wedding
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: I thought that was some fae holiday or tradition you guys did?
Malleus: It was not, it was our wedding
Mc/Y/N/Yuu, pacing the room: wait- you need a marriage officiant for a wedding to happen though? What about the vows? The walking down the aisle?
Malleus: The vows we said we're done in private, remember? when I poured my heart out telling you how I could never imagine you not being in my life? The marriage officiant was Lillia and the walk down the aisle I chose not to do as I couldn't wait any longer.
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: Okay, so I remember the "vows" but when did I even sign the marriage license?
Malleus: As soon as you walked into the dorm doors
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: I thought that was a paper to see who came?
Malleus, worried tone, happy face: My, dear, you really should read something before you sign it 😊
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: yea, I really should
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: what about the wedding attire? I didn't wear a wedding dress/suit? The ring?
Malleus: The outfit of garments I sent to you the day before our wedding and the ring I'm assuming you thought was a "simple" gift 😞
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: THAT WAS MY WEDDING DRESS/SUIT?! And wedding ring?!
Malleus: Yes, I must say you looked positively gorgeous/beautiful/handsome and I chose the ring very well, it suits you tremendously
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: Thank you-
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: okay, okay- No big deal- I'm just married to the prince of Briar Valley, descendant of fae, the most powerful mages in the world.
Malleus: I prefer to be called "Mal", by you
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: ...
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: Oh by the Seven, I can't believe we got married all because I gave you a SIMPLE ROCK
Malleus: As I said before, a very pretty rock
Mc/Y/N/Yuu: Mal, we don't even live together
