hi everyone i hope y’all doing alright <3
as many of you know I'm going through some tough times dealing with benzodiazepine withdrawals and depression. leaving benzodiazepine and stop taking them It's not easy, but I'm working on it. i’m highly medicated because of my mental illness
i’ve felt very demoralized by asking for help on here but i’ve talked with some friends and some of you said it wasn’t a problem and it was okay to ask for help
If you're willing and able any support would help cover my rent so i can keep having a roof over my head and my medication. if someone knows about any jobs online please let me know, i’m willing to work whatever
my rent is due for the 1st of the month and i have no medication left since monday

Early in the process of writing my new book
about nature, awe, and mental health,
I titled the project Something in the Woods Loves You.
I honestly didn’t think that title
would survive rewrites and rounds of edits,
but it did. And I’m glad it did.
Something in the Woods Loves You.
That simple sentence is the heart
of what I feel beneath the trees
and what I want to pass on to readers.

STOP COMPARING URSELF TO OTHERS ;
comparison is the thief of joy. why should you compare yourself to other people? thats like comparing an apple to an orange, or a lily to a rose. everyone is uniquely different and no one person is the same.

to have a fair comparison, both things that ur comparing must be the same and since no one person is the same as another, comparing urself to others is illogical and incorrect. its unfair.
CHECK ON HOW YOU'VE GROWN ;
check on how you've blossomed and grown as a person by keeping track of achievements, big or small, or milestones to remind yourself that YOUR LITERALLY AMAZING. when you are consistent and persistent, when u look back and see how far that you've come its like a major confidence boost.
doing this regularly reminds yourself that you are not inadequate and that you are competent and capable of amazing things. dont be afraid to remind urself of who you are.
FEELINGS ARE NOT FACTS ;
just because you might feel like ur not enough sometimes, doesn't mean that its true. remind urself of ur core facts through affirmations, journalling, whatever u like. remember that
you are who you say you are
you are more than enough
and you are an incredible human being
identify the lies that you've believed about urself/the lies that people told u about urself. once you've identified these lies, work on changing them to truth. (im not enough -> im more than enough)
and remember that your talented, beautiful, kind, hot, WHATEVER U WANNA BE. the choice is yours, mwah ✨

Compassion fatigue, activism fatigue, secondary trauma, all of those are very real things. Being burned out doesn't mean you're a bad person, or that you don't care. It means your brain needs a break, because it's meant to deal with stress in short bursts, not a constant, nonstop deluge of stress. (And that's true no matter how privileged you are/aren't. That's just how human brains work.) Don't ever feel guilty for feeling burned out; it does not reflect on you as a person. You have nothing to be guilty about.
And, don't ever feel guilty about taking some time to rest, taking a step back from the news cycle, social media, filtering certain tags, etc. etc. You can always come back to it. You need to give yourself a break, or you'll have some kind of breakdown, be it mental, physical, or both. And there is a difference between staying informed and doomscrolling. There is a difference between "selfishness" or "self-indulgence" and self-care. There is a difference between "not caring" and taking a step back for the sake of your mental health. And yes, there is a difference between "I don't care," and "I just don't have the mental/physical/emotional/etc. bandwidth to deal with this right now." (It should also be noted that just because someone isn't posting about current events or what have you, doesn't mean they don't care about them or aren't doing anything. They could be doing stuff you can't see, or maybe they feel they have nothing to say that hasn't already been said, or maybe blorboposting is what's keeping their mental health okay. You don't know, so just be kind.)
