I always change brushes but if you're talking about my MerEclipse piece, I use CSP. The line art was done with this brush and the colours were with this oil brush!

What can I do to confuse MerEclipse? How does he help a Year/Nfisherman on a fishing trip when they are already together? Do Y/N live in the city? Are they visiting their big fisherman? How long does an Eclipse live? How does he have fun? Thank you for the existence of MerEclipse and rybak! They are the best!

Normal dream stuff confuses Mer!Eclipse, whether it's about regular everyday things/situations that have an odd twist to them or stress dreams like being back in school or being unprepared for an important event. He just doesn't get those. It's not his world or his dreams.

A fishing trip with you is going out on your boat and guiding you to the best waters that have the real big catches, and he'll help even though you don't need him to. He'll herd schools of fish closer to the surface and your nets before withdrawing and waiting for you to do the rest of the work.

No, you live on an island!

Yes, you visit your big guy almost every day! If you had it your way, you'd never go back to shore, but alas.

Mers usually lives to about 200 years, however, Eclipse's life expectancy changes due to being bonded with a human. It gets cut down to about 150 years, whereas a regular human can live to about 100 years, your life expectancy is bumped to about 150 too! The magic bond has this effect where if nothing unnatural occurs to cause premature death, the pair will share years and eventually, one day far in the future, die together when it's time.

Eclipse has fun exploring and searching for human things and treasures for you! He always gets excited when he finds a rare find, such as a large seashell that's still whole. There's also playing in the water, splashing, and breaching, but he doesn't do that too often as he is more geared towards the depths.

Gargantuan Leviathan Mer-Eclipse 😳😳

I’ve seen so many interpretations of mer-Eclipse recently, and I love the idea of him being absolutely gigantic. The thing with me is when I see a big fish, my monkey brain goes “ooo, Subnautica 👀,” and so I HAD to draw a version of Eclipse that was (very loosely) inspired by the gargantuan leviathan skeleton in Subnautica

At some point MerEclipse and MerLunar are going to want to join in on MerSun absolutely wrecking Lord Night. Those two want to play with the sentient squeaky toy too!

Mer sun shows him off and starts poking his belly to show them how it works, and he’s just so unbelievably flustered that he tries to keep his composure at least somewhat at first. But then suns just confused because he’s always very squeaky, so casually gives him a nibble and he just shatters like glass.
