Brenda Adair | Gladius

She/Her - Unlabeled - British

Quirk: Metalskin

Gladius has the ability to turn her body into any metal she wants as long as she knows the properties of said metal. Once she turns into that metal, she becomes capable of enduring what would otherwise be lethal hazards like explosions, bullets, and more. Naturally, this armor will erode eventually.

Gladius is the most serious and stoic out of all the sidekicks. She is very dedicated to her job, and looks down on anyone who does not treat heroics with the gravity it deserves. She especially looks down on those who are in heroics for what she deems none honorable reasons (money, fame, extra). Though she would be fine with Uraraka's explanation if Uraraka told her that the money was to support her family and her family's dying business.

Flint San | Heater

They/Them - Lesbian - Blasian

Quirk: Craftmanship

Heater has the ability to create any weapon they want, perfectly. They achieve this by turning their body parts into crafting tools. They must have the required materials to create an weapon, along with being in an extremely hot space. Due to this, their body is constantly soaking in heat making summer hell for them and winter heaven.

Heater typically stays behind at the agency in their own forge, fixing the hero uniforms and weapons. They are no slouch in a fight though, having a war hammer on them at all times. While seemingly standoffish, they are usually just tired and will gladly unwind with someone over a bottle of water or coffee.

Miu Tetsumoto | Tessen

She/Her - Lesbian - Japanese

Quirk: Metal Touch

Tessen has the ability to turn anything she touches into metal, but she must use all five fingers to do so. She is typically seen wearing artist gloves that allow her to go about her normal day to day life.

Tessen is wildly revered as the most beautiful of the sidekicks, and she holds that tile with pageant wins and model shoots. She has the fanbase quota to become a full fledge heroine, but she feels like she'd lose her head in the fame. It is one of the reasons she sticks around, because the blunt nature of the other sidekicks keep her grounded.

She has a crush on Gladius.

Haiiro Forme | Pb-Sap

He/Him - Bisexual - Japanese

Quirk: Lead Form

Pb-Sap can turn h is body completely into lead. He is able to shape his body however he wants, and long term contact can poison those around him. He is immune to disease, electricity, heat, and radiation. He is also immune to mental and energy based quirks. Due to his shaping abilities he can escape any containment. However, he can not swim or he will sink and is extremely heavy.

Pb-Sap is the best guy to be around, and is general the heart of all the sidekicks. He can get them all talking, and can ease the tension in any situation. Though there is an air in worry as Pb-Sap is rumored to graduating to full time pro, which means peacekeeper for the sidekicks won't be on the field with them much longer.

21. FOIBLES

They find the scroll secreted away around a pair of bones.

The parchment is carefully unfurled. Dust brushed off with a hand caught within the safety of a glove. The script is looked over. 

It’s fluid and written by a practiced hand, something that easily grasps and implores one’s eyes to cautiously crawl over the page and take in the contents:

It is a technique that we haven’t even been able to settle upon a name for.

Our group never cared much for such vanity. 

The technique itself is more what matters, and it is quite interesting indeed. It is the self-actualization of centuries of teaching and training under the ‘Fists of Earth’ style, the first any of our students learn. 

That is a tradition that is the same no matter the region - northern Gyr Abania, the capital itself, the Lochs - or type of teacher, for they must learn to ground themselves, to make the earth as much a part of them as we claim it to be.

But this technique is an extension, actual mastery of the element to the point that the body truly can take on its energies, its form, and combine and compress them together to give one’s skin the consistency of stone. With such fine tuning, we have begun to see results where the trainee’s body takes on the quality of steel. 

And even tougher. 

Such a technique has offensive and defensive uses. My student prefers the latter, to let his enemies approach him and then take their blows. We allowed him to use it in a spar, and it led to a broken leg, a pair of broken hands, and fingers bent awkwardly and sent askew. 

He won. Handily. I’m not afraid to let my pride show here, for he is of my flesh and blood.

Even if he still refuses to take the first strike. Aggressiveness was never his strength. 

Some wish to call it “stoneskin”, but it is tougher than that. “Metalskin” doesn’t flow off the tongue, and “steelskin” is much too cliché. There has been much discussion on the name; perhaps too much in my opinion.

To try and find some form of weak point to the technique has proven interesting so far. Given that my student can use the ability at will now, even an ambush in the halls proved useless. I’ve begun to suspect that he may even not need to think to use it.

It is part of him now. 

Our blows felt like they were hitting the broadside of a Garlean tank, and nothing seemed to faze him. Again. He gives us that emotionless look, wide-eyed and unblinking. I may be a little proud of him for that as well.

If the technique upon mastery does begin to act of its own accord to a degree, then I theorize there must be a workaround of some sort, something related to how the elements all play with and against each other. 

Perhaps someone strong in the Wind would be able to use their speed to feint and throw off the technique, or maybe overwhelm it to the capacity where it would not catch up. Would raw magicks be able to do something? Perhaps thaumaturgy in the way of Fire might superheat it enough to break through?

Any piece of metal has a weak point, as we’ve learned. Take a sword for instance, or perhaps even the rapiers of the red mages. The weakest point is in the foible, that length from the middle to the point. 

This technique must surely work the same, yes? And if so, is there a way to hammer out that weakness?

Only time will tell.

Stéphane Pénari, créateur de MetalSkin Medical, a non seulement alerté sur cette question, mais apporté une solution: une peinture spécifique à base de cuivre connu pour ses vertus bactéricides durables (les ions de cuivre trouent la membrane de la bactérie et la tuent). 

«Les infections nosocomiales représentent plus de 4200 décès par an dans les hôpitaux, explique Stéphane Pénari. Ils dépensent des fortunes pour les éviter. MetalSkin augmente faiblement les coûts d’installation (entre 10 et 20 %) mais pour une efficacité à 99,9 %.» Des poignées de porte aux robinets en passant par les claviers d’ordinateur ou les rampes, MetalSkin rend bactéricide toutes les surfaces qu’il recouvre. Les hôpitaux ne sont pas les seuls intéressés. Ehpad, laboratoires, transports en commun, crèches sont autant de clients potentiels pour la start-up française.
