“The place I love the most is where my family is. It’s not about the location, but the atmosphere that my family creates. That is where I belong to and I am happy to return.”

Some of my favorite photobooks from 2018- click the titles for ordering info.
While positioned/listed in no particular order Michael Northrup’s Dream Away was my favorite photobook of the year- and is in my top ten all time favorite titles.
1. Issei Suda: The Mechanical Retina on My Fingertips
2. Issei Suda: Fragment of Everyday Life
3. Nobuyoshi Araki: Hana-Jinsei / Flower-Life
4. Michael Northrup: Dream Away
5. Hiromi Tsuchida: Autistic Space
6. Mark Steinmetz: Past K Ville
7. Ed Templeton: Tangentially Parenthetical
8. Nobuyoshi Araki: Love-Dream, Love-Nothing
9. Tamiko Nishimura: My Journey
10. ERIC: Good Luck Hong Kong
11. Nobuyoshi Araki: Kata-me
12. Meisa Fujishiro: 90 Nights
13. Ed & Deanna Templeton: Contemporary Suburbium
14. Motohiko Hasui: Personal Matters Volume 2
After laying out all these books, photographing them, and then photoshopping numbers on them and then uploading the pictures suddenly I realized I somehow left out two more: Nobuyoshi Araki’s Last August and the 2nd edition of one of my favorite photobooks, Yusuke Yamatani’s Rama Lama Ding Dong.
Additionally, Deadbeat Club invited me to list some (these) books as well- check out my entry to their blog here.
