Oda Nobunaga:

When you reveal who you are to Nobunaga, he would be surprised, but curious. But he wouldn't stop loving you nonetheless. He would be wondering how a plant eats, walks and talks like a normal human.

Toyotomi Hideyoshi:

What? How is that possible? He'd be beyond concerned. For your safety.

Hideyoshi has never heard of such plants before, so he would truly confused. He might as well try watering you if you feel tired.

Kennyo:

He would not believe you at first, but he would slowly come to terms with the fact. Being a plantfolk changes nothing in your relationship. Maybe Kennyo would finally understand why some of the forest animals like to nibble on your hair sometimes, and also the flowers that seem to be glued to your head.

Mouri Motonari:

He would be surprised, but would not admit it. He knew you were a 'plant girl' all along. Flowers really do grow on your head. Motonari would make sure that you're okay at all times, usually on one of the warm sunny days at sea.

Hope he doesn't get poisoned accidentally.

Ishida Mitsunari:

Oh, you're a plant? How come he has never read about plant-people in books? He would want to know more about you. He's very huggable, so please be careful when handling, you wouldn't want to accidentally poison Mitsunari.

Today I found my old works in PC. These are fan arts of "Sengoku BASARA", an action game of CAPCOM. Very very Natsukashii!! They've reminded me of those days, I was into that game... And I made a lot of pixel art besides BASARA. All of them are nostalgic. Of course, I also drew normal digital arts, a lot :-)

Quick reminder that SLBP drops the "long o" sounds, and "Mori" in other publications may be spelled as "Mouri". This family is completely unrelated to Ranmaru's "Mori" family.

In history Motonari sent a lot of sons out for adoptions. To the point that of his 9 sons, perhaps only 3 of them remained surnamed "Mouri". Even within the context of just SLBP, there's more than one that got adopted out.

I think the part that says "he sent one out" is a mistranslation because even though Japanese has a way to render words plural, it's sometimes not used. This creates ambiguity that requires the translator to pay attention to the original context to know if this is plural or not.

I don't remember if in the actual event it's already specified that Kikkawa Motoharu and Kobayakawa Takakage are brothers or not, but I referenced this in my previous post. Those are two of Motonari's sons, both adopted out, thus having different surnames. Perhaps it wasn't mentioned, and so the translator didn't know.

As always, bending generations is a given in this game (like when the Oda fights Shingen instead of his son), and "Nobunaga is antagonistic against Mouri Motonari" is one of those things that happens when games or other media prioritise starring famous lords over historical facts.

The Oda did eventually fight with the Mouri, but that was after Motonari was a few years dead, and the headship taken over by his successor. In Motonari's life, the Oda and Mouri were allies/cooperating. Nobunaga sent gifts and condolences when Motonari died, and New Year's greetings were regularly sent over to the Mouri.

Occasionally Ikesen has really pretty descriptions. It's definitely some of the nicest snippets of writing I've come across in otome for little gems like this. Stuff like this is often overlooked, but it makes you appreciate the localisation and gives a comfy vibe while playing the game imo
