WB Wonder Woman 1974 Movie Pilot Review Finale
Religious Apologetics Minimal Facts? Stand Aside! Here’s Wonder Woman 1974’s Minimal Action! Are you going to be surprised that Wonder Woman 1974 ends as it ran? Dull, plodding and boring?!? No? Didn’t think so. Plus side? We spend the end with the rich vocal tones of Ricardo Montalban. As far as this movie pilot is concerned? He’s the rich Corinthian Leather of this substandard Cathy Lee Crosby…

okkkk i watched the first episode of hazbin hotel and i think it has a lot of missed potential. there are actually quite a few goods - the animation for the most part is nice, the voice acting is great (especially keith david as the cat thing), and the songs are alright. the show brings up interesting concepts but the main problem is that it doesn't really execute them in an interesting way, mainly due to the way the characters are written.
every character - with the exception of alastor, charlie and nifty - has a generally "vulgar" personality, ranging from that being a primary trait to basically the entire character (based on the 1st episode alone). they're all written in a similar way, which means that character interactions are very basic funnyman/straightman endeavors with little variation - angel dust says something dumb and vaggie chatises him, or angel dust says something sexual and husk chatises him. that formula basically extends to most if not all of their interactions so far, so the dynamics between characters are similar and frankly uninteresting. angel dust especially (i really don't like him sorry) is so far just a vessel for sexual jokes, and we don't really get anything from his character other than "he's horny", which isn't really good for your first episode imo. the language the characters use is also similar so there's little humorous contrast. there aren't really "jokes" with setup and payoff - just characters saying and doing out of pocket things.
the worst example of this is with the angels, particularly adam. i think that the angel with him (lute i think?) would actually serve his purpose in the story better based on her character - somewhat regal, orderly, but most importantly uses a completely different language to the devils. this sort of contrast would've been way more interesting imo - have the angels be holier-than-thou (quite literally), talk charlie down, make her feel less than or even like a "sinner" - which would be cool because as far as i can tell charlie tries her best to be as good as possible! that would be a unique way to bring out her angry side but instead adam just acts like any other devil, even worse than them, and maybe that's on purpose but i don't think it's very cool...... it would be fun to play off the watcher's preconceived notions and ideas on angels and devils after establishing how charlie deviates from the norm, maybe even having the angels be like "wow you lashing out proves devils are all evil", but now i'm rambling...
other than that, i think the story introduces its main plot points too early. give the concept some time to breathe and establish itself before dropping the bombshell that the extermination is to be 6 months early, damn,,, but i'd have to watch every episode to give an opinion on how they handle that, which i likely won't do. i have some small nitpicks, like the weird lack of buildup to most songs and the kind of weird pacing, but in short, based on the first episode, it's just a compilation of missed opportunities and edgy swear-humor offset by some genuinely interesting and good ideas. this isn't a review of the entire series, by the way - just a "initial thoughts" thing. if you really are interested in the concept, i'd say give it a chance, but please be aware of the creator's actions before you support it monetarily. (i watched the first episode through other means as i genuinely dislike the creator due to her bigotry, of which others have described more eloquently than me - it's very easy to find "call-outs" and critiques of her actions). 4/10, where is verblase :/

Now that it’s been out for a few months, what’re all of your thoughts on the Lackadaisy Pilot?
I can only give my opinion on the Pilot as a standalone work, since I've never read the comics.
I adored it. The animation was just... I have no words. After so many years of everything turning into CGI, seeing expertly done traditional animation like that was delightful! The details, the character designs, expressions, the colors, the style! The voice actors did spectacularly with their performances. Everyone had personality and flavor even if I didn't know their names.
Beat-by-beat the story was well-paced and executed. Again, as someone who never read the comics, I never felt lost, but I could also sense that there were nods to things that were for fans. That's a hard line to walk, but they managed it.
They also did a good job balancing the era with the tone and style. The whole world felt...well. Believable isn't quite the way I'd put it. It remained a cartoon that maybe my niece could watch with all the impressions of something appropriately darker, considering its bloody setting and era. It reminded me of an older style of animated movies/shows I grew up with. A bit cartoony but still...grounded.
Watching Lackadaisy was a treat, but it also made me realize that we had been missing something that was lost (or taken away) for a long time, and had no idea when it had happened.

Plane - 2022
SAFE/Caution - V•
Approx. 18:38 - 18:40 •A,V• After Gaspare asks the guard to release the cuffs because he cannot swim, it cuts to seeing the plane flying. It cuts again to a man holding his wife as she is leaning over with her face in a paper bag, insinuating she is unwell. The scene is dark with lightning, so it can be hard to see.

Plane (2023)
"Pilot Brodie Torrance saves passengers from a lightning strike by making a risky landing on a war-torn island -- only to find that surviving the landing was just the beginning. When dangerous rebels take most of the passengers hostage, the only person Torrance can count on for help is Louis Gaspare, an accused murderer who was being transported by the FBI."
It's been a while since I've seen a decent action film that didn't require a huge amount of brain power to watch. You know the kind of thing, a popcorn chomping, adrenaline fuelled, action movie that you can just sit through and enjoy, even though you know it's probably not going to be the greatest film ever. Well, tonight I did just that.
I'll be honest, I walked into the movie with certain expectations based on my knowledge of, and history of watching, this kind of movie. The main character was going to be ex-special forces with "a specific set of skills". He was going to do all sorts of awesome fighting moves, and somehow manage to kill 20 men with just a bent knife and a smile. I'm honestly pleased to say that those expectations were NOT met.
Gerard Butler plays Captain Brodie Torrance, pilot for Trailblazers Airline and captain of flight 119. Pretty early on you find out that he was military, but not the way I expected. He's an ex-RAF cargo pilot who moved into civilian Airlines when his military career finished. He's a world weary, close to average, guy who is simply trying to get to his daughter for the New Year. Butler has played a number of action roles where he was 'the hero' so to see him as just a guy who's trying to save his passengers is a nice touch. It's a solid performance from Butler and, while it probably won't win him any awards, it's a decent addition to his movie catalogue.
That's not to say special forces aren't part of the film. Mike Colter, best known as Luke Cage in the Netflix Marvel shows, plays Louis Gaspare. Louis is introduced to the film as a prisoner on the flight who was wanted for a homicide 15 years previously. He tells Brodie later that he was part of the French Foreign Legion, who are a highly trained and lethal fighting force. Ta Dah! Ex-special forces...Colter's performance is decent enough, and he executes his role as the hard ass killer as needed. Yet, while I enjoyed watching him I couldn't help thinking that he seemed like a personality trait of a main character, rather than a fleshed out character of his own. Though that may be due to my expectations of the main character going in.
The director, Jean-Francois Riçhet, has done a good job with the film. He gave us scenes of . tension, some pretty brutal deaths and one of the most 'fun' gunfights I've seen in a film in a long while. He clearly enjoys what he did with this film and his choices of shots and locations were really rather good. The effects team had fun as well, that much is obvious but I won't say too much. That needs to be seen on the screen.
Overall it's good film. It's a little shy of two hours long, but I did not feel that at all. It felt much quicker than that and I think that is down to the speed of the scenes, and no one section running long. I really enjoyed it for what it is. It's a fairly straight forward action flick, with a little character twist. Is it going to set the world alight? Unlikely. Is it going to completely change the action genre? Not even slightly. But did I enjoy myself for the entire film? Absolutely, and for that it's getting a solid 7/10, with a recommendation to definitely give it a go. You might have an absolute blast.

Now Watching: Wednesday
It kind of pains me to write this. I love The Addams family, The Munsters, and all those wonderfully creepy people representing the rest of us on the tele. As a kid, I grew up on the 90′s Addams Family movie and sequel, as an adult if I ever need a “pick me up” it is one of my favorite things to rewatch. So you can imagine when this was coming out, I was pumped.
Tumblr media
Let’s start at the beginning- in the 60′s this started off as a sitcom on tv. Black and white, and most likely where we get our idea of what Morticia and Gomez and all the family members “should be like”. I actually get clips from the 60′s show that come up on my Tiktok and man it looks like virtual gold to me. Cute, normal, but otherwise creepy kooky family.
Who is in the Addams family? Mom and dad are Morticia and Gomez. They are typically a very happy couple. Lurch is almost a family friend or servant? Morticia has her mom living with them, Gomez’s brother Fester sometimes does. There are two kids: Wednesday, the oldest daughter, and Pugsley, the second born son. Depending on what version you follow, there is a third child. You can’t forget about Thing, he’s a handful.
From the sitcom, to a movie and sequel 30 years later, the story of the Addams family is very timeless. The transition from the 60′s to the 90′s gave the characters a deeper transition into the goth/alternative realm. It is very likely they were in there in the 60′s but in black and white its hard to see, and societally speaking, that would be a hard time to have most of america accept a family that “dark”.
From the 90′s to 2022, Tim Burton makes an 8 episode season but changes things...a lot. With something so, iconic, it is hard to make major changes. It is more smaller stylistic changes that add up as one watches it. I get it, the appeal but also the challenge to want to do something so iconic. This show is about, not so much the addams family, but the oldest daughter...Wednesday. Hence the name. In a world where feminists want “domination” not equality, the change of direction for the show is not surprising.
This is a related side rant, but really, if you are ever bored look at TV in different decades of society and see how they reflect the time they are made in. For example, The Sandman. That is based on a comic book that has been around for some time, and in the comic books there is a more normal mix of ethnicities for all the characters. When it gets made into a show in 2022, all the “bad people” are white, most people are black, Constatine is a gay woman. While there is not that much wrong with “creative liberty” in bringing a material to life, ask yourself this-had this been made in any other decade...would it have been made like that?
Anyways, back to what we are actually watching...or not watching. Wednesday. This show is in some ways about the family but its about the family as they get older. I guess as one gets older they start to define their own lives and spend less time with family. I will not spoil much, but I only watched the first episode. Wednesday gets kicked out of public school and goes to a private school both her parents went to. Wednesday is full of teenage angst. And a modern day feminist. There is also a heavy dose of magic and fantasy added to this show, as everyone is not human or a gifted human.
Before watching it, I had heard some issues people had with the show. Mom and Dad, while they are in timeline older, are being played by the oldest actors ever to have portrayed them. Catherine Zeta Jones doesn’t do a bad Morticia, but as one gets older, the classic morticia body is hard to pull off. I would of loved to see that look be in the vain of the older look but more appropriate for an older Morticia. Gomez is played by a short older mexican dude with a beer belly. I must say, personally speaking, I prefer gomez taller, because even when he’s taller he’s always shorter than Tish. But Jones towers heavily over Gomez, and appearances aside-their chemistry is attempting to be good but not?
When it came to actually watching it-The first episode actually did a fair amount of work fairly well. I always feel bad for how much work the first episode of any show has to do. It has to introduce, snare the viewer, and set up the plot. I could see, and mostly agree, about Gomez and Tish. The “modern” changes they made to Wednesday, don’t feel like her to me. The story, while possibly interesting, heavily detracts from the value the show has from the iconic family as there is not much family in it. Wednesday on her own is too dry and almost grinding of a character. Also, maybe its been too long since I have been a teenage female with angst-but I think Tish would of been a better mom than my mom was to me, and I did not hate my mom that much then. (It happened eventually but that was more in adulthood for me).
This seems like a long winded way to say, if I had to say it in a simpler fashion, that I hate this. I don’t want to. But I don’t plan to finish the season or watch any more. I thought it was interesting too that they did not get permission to use the Addams Family theme song. At first I was like wow, but after I am glad they did not. I believe the show has had record numbers of viewers, so maybe it is a case of I am not the target audience for this “modern” version of a cult classic. What do you guys think of the show?

I know Ken is notorious for his, um, odd creation habits, but even I’m shocked that it’s been over 10 years of work and THIS is all he has to show for it. I would maybe be a bit more lenient if each new page was hyper detailed or something like that, but as you pointed out in your review, he reused the same images across plenty of panels and so many of his backgrounds are just stock photos. The only way I can reconcile this to myself is wondering if maybe a bunch of that time was eaten up by extensive rewrites to his plans for the whole series, but even then, I’ll be even more shocked if the next volume ever comes out.
So I didn't get into this in the review because I really just wanted to focus on the book and the weird copyright situation that led to its creation, not Ken's personal life or his other endeavors, but he did make something else in the time since The Lara-Su Chronicles' announcement 13 years ago. That being his independent film: The Republic. Because after he left Archie Ken figured he'd move on to a career in Hollywood.
I think this was originally supposed to be a TV show, the pilot episode for which was released in 2010, but then in 2016 he decided to retool it as a commentary on Trump's immigration policies. I think the movie is still somehow not out despite being shot a few years ago, but he put out a trailer here:
youtube
Yes, the trailer really opens with 30 seconds of footage of Trump from CNN. I know writers who use subtext and they're all cowards etc. etc.
At least the cast is clearly trying their best in spite of the material. It's not Birdemic bad. And yes, that's Sean Young. THE Sean Young! Rachael from Blade Runner! I guess Ken's really eager to flex the fact that he's friends with a couple lower-level Hollywood producers.
Anyway, I think he's still looking for a distributor for this. It's truly a mystery why no one was eager to pick this up.
Ken's also said some stuff about how he waited years to put out TLSC: Beginnings as part of the 4D chess game he's playing with the copyright stuff. He has a general idea of what he can do based on the terms of the settlement, but he's eager to push it as far as he can. He tested the waters with things like a few small pieces of TLSC merch and an NFT announcement, to see if Sega would take legal action. In particular, the announcement that he was going to sell an NFT of Shade from Sonic Chronicles was a stunt designed to see if Sega would challenge his claim that Shade is legally the same character as Julie-Su. Since they haven't gone after him, and now it's been a few years, he's taking that as evidence that Sega isn't actively exercising those copyrights and isn't going to fight for this stuff.
There's some logic here. Part of the reason Dan DeCarlo lost his battle with Archie over the rights to Josie and the Pussycats is that he didn't take action against them sooner for making merch and whatnot. It's "use it or lose it" with copyrights. But it mostly just comes off as an excuse. If it was purely a waiting game and he had all this extra time, why did he need to recycle art so much in Beginnings? Why is he only releasing 30 new pages of material instead of a whole graphic novel? Where's the app? Why didn't he spellcheck the damn book?

HELLUVA BOSS DEVIATING FROM ITS ORIGINAL PREMISE FUNDAMENTALLY DESTROYED THE SHOW
So, it has already been discussed many times in HB critical community that HB deviated from its premise after S1 and that anyone with an once of media literacy can tell that you can't describe it in any way other than horrible writing.
Now, I'm going to ask you this for a second - imagine that you haven't seen S1, the pilot or read the premise of Helluva Boss anywhere. Imagine that you watch all (available) episodes of S2 and are asked to write a premise about it on some movie review website. How would you briefly describe what happens in S2?
Oh, you can't or are having major trouble doing it? Don't worry, you are not media illiterate, my friend. That is the case because IT'S LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL WHAT HELLUVA BOSS IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT ANYMORE.
There are many flaws that your writing could possess - inconsistent characterization, too fast/slow pacing and so on. However, they do not automatically derail your work. It is very much possible to recognize those faults, learn from them and do better in the future.
But the premise of your work is its literal BONES. You build up the plot and characters based on it. You just can't expect your show to be good, if you tear out its basis. Of course the pacing, character development and how plot points are wrapped up in HB is horrible - how can anything function without the very thing that holds it all together?
And I MEAN that the premise of HB completely disappears, not shifts or changes. Like, seriously, what the hell is HB supposed to be about now?
Stolitz?
Their interactions indicate zero meaningful development and are tediously spaced out to the point that it's hard to care about their relationship. It is made even worse by the fact that Stolas, just like in S1, still keeps pressuring Blitzo, despite him being clearly uncomfortable.
Blitzo making amends with people he hurt?
Even ignoring S1's nonexistent buildup of this plotline (Blitzo looking at photos on his phone doesn't count, since it's literally the ONLY moment that barely suggests it), there's no buildup in S2 either, when it comes to both Barbie and Fizz. It is certainly not helped by the fact that Barbie just vanishes after Unhappy Campers and Blitzo and Fizz's beef is resolved in a single episode.
Any other plotlines of S2, like Fizz's job, Crimson, Striker, or Stolas and Stella's separation are just too small or insignificant to be considered part of the supposed premise, INCLUDING the assassination business, which arguably takes up the least amount of time of aspects of the show listed.
It's no surprise that Helluva Boss is slowly crumbling. At this point, it's just a paralysed zombie who completely forgot what it once was. And it's damn sad to watch, because the show comforted me during some dark times and, despite Viv being an awful person, I truly hoped for HB to be great.

Ok, so, I watched the pilot for The Idol against my better judgment after reading the Rolling Stone article about it and reading the poor critic reviews.
It's just as gross and exploitative as people say. I felt physically grossed out by the leering, objectifying gaze of the camera. The Weeknd's alleged behind-the-scenes contributions to the "male perspective" of the show make the scenes between him and Lily Rose-Depp that much more nauseating.
The dialogue between Jocelyn's team the whole first thirty minutes felt like the thinly veiled airing out of Sam Levinson's grievances we got in Malcolm and Marie but put through a "cancel culture/anti-woke" meat grinder. "Mental illness is sexy" and locking an intimacy coordinator in a bathroom came off like Euphoria meta-commentary from Levinson.
I don’t care about nudity in movies/TV if it's done in a way that feels respectful of the actors. But the descriptions of the nudity in this show as "fetishistic" are spot-on. The sex scene at the end of the episode where Jocelyn is being suffocated and he sticks a knife through the silk made me feel weird and uncomfortable. The constant shots up Lily's skirt and in increasingly skimpy outfits for no reason in random scenes felt so on-the-nose for the reaction they're trying to get.
It's not revelatory or exciting. It's just repulsive and relying on shock and outrage for clicks.
Don't waste your time. Don't hate watch. I'm not interested in encouraging a deluded edgelord on a power trip with HBO dollars behind him.

WB Wonder Woman 1974 Movie Pilot Review Part 3
The Adventures Of Cappuccino, Secret Agent Burro!Might as well. This movie isn’t faring good as a Wonder Woman movie. Anyway good news! Wonder Woman finally appears! Bad news… Its so underwhelming it probably disappointed many who saw it for the first time! Lets see… There’s Dolph Lundgren as The Punisher disappointed. Final Thoughts On 2023
I know I have a very dysfunctional sense of time, but this year seems extra short and long to me. But such is the way it goes. Vague recap time!
Shut Down published! I went to my first therapy session. I toured apartments with my roommate. I traveled for the first time with just a friend. I got to meet the voice actors for The Animaniacs Pinky and The Brain. I celebrated my first Aro week. I wrote my first pilot episode. I got on TikTok for class and ended up not hating it. I volunteered to help at an student Oscar event and for student plays. I lost my best friend. I finally joined my school's writing club. My parents accidentally read my poetry collection and loved it. I moved into my very own apartment. I went on a family vacation to New York and got to see my almost little sister for the first time in 4 years. I hosted my very first book signing! I published Reprogrammed. I learned how to live by myself. I took a pottery class. I started a movie script. I let go of my best friend for good. I became the secretary for the writing club. I found a little bit more of myself in my fashion sense. I hosted a Halloween party. I met the producer of Me Before You. I made more friends and learned how best to love some of my others.
And in what has been one of the greatest decisions I've ever made, I stayed incredibly active on this lovely site and I got to meet, know, and love all of you. You guys are my diary and my joke book and a safe place for everything I am and love. I can be 100% myself on here without a single worry and you guys will never understand what that means to me.
My love list will just have to continue to grow, but that's okay. I love each and every one of you and I cannot wait to spend another year alongside you. Happy New Year! 🥂
All my love,

The Super Mario Bros. Redux (Pt. 7)
What would happen if, in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, after Mario and Luigi are separated, Mario was the one who ended up in the clutches of Luigi’s eventual arch nemesis, while Luigi teamed up with some of his own close allies to go rescue him?
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 8 ________
Back in Evershade Valley, we return to a now far more quiet royal ballroom, where Mario's frozen portrait hangs on the wall over King Boos throne.
King Boo seems anxious, and when a lone boo approaches him his mood sours and he demands news on where is Boolossus.
The boo hesitantly explains that Luigi had captured Boolossus, and that word from the Birabuto Ghosthouse warns of an assembled Sarasaland army heading in their direction.
As the little boo talks, King Boo grows visibly angry, the magic of his crown flickering and distorting the room around them, but when the army is mentioned King Boo's mood shifts, and the room returns to normal.
"An army? You mean they're coming to us?" he cackles. "How stupid, but fine by me! Let's take a big boo breath, and blow them all away!"
We then go to the assembled army: a fleet of monoplanes of varying shapes and sizes, soaring through bright blue sky. Center of them all is a great winged airship where E. Gadd, Princess Daisy, and Luigi are congregated.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Princess Daisy stands at the helm, steering the ship and giving orders to the surrounding fleet through the intercom, E. Gadd reviews the plan with Luigi:
The soldiers of Sarasaland will hunt down the missing pieces of the dark moon so that it can be re-assembled, thus returning the ghosts to their peaceful state. Then, while that mission serves as a distraction, Luigi will sneak into King Boo’s mansion, find the portrait gallery, and free all the hostages using a new attachment on The Poltergust.
After the professor finishes the debriefing he hands Luigi a piece of tech– one that looks like an exact copy of the hand-held device E. Gadd had used up to this point... the “Dual Scream”
Tumblr media
Before E. Gadd can explain the purpose of the gift, the sky suddenly darkens with strange, unsettlingly familiar thunderclouds. From them emerge boos numbering in the hundreds.
The Professor is confused. He knew that the powers of King Boo were growing due to the gemstone in his crown, but he didn't think he was already strong enough to bring such a large army so far from their home.
Luckily, Sarasaland's monoplanes are well equipped to fight the phantoms. They flash bright lights to disorient, shoot bolts of ice magic, and move fast enough to outmaneuver the spirits.
However, the winged airship carrying Princess Daisy, E. Gadd, and Luigi isn't as speedy as the monoplanes. Though Daisy is a skilled pilot, and though the monoplanes form a barrier to keep the princess guarded, Luigi is still fighting desperately with The Poltergust to suck up the all the ghosts that get past their defenses.
Despite these setbacks, all seems to be going well until Princess Daisy spots a familiar figure in the distance. She alerts E. Gadd, who grows nervous upon seeing that King Boo himself has shown up to this fight.
Tumblr media
"Princess, I'm afraid things are about to get really strange," he warns. "Tell your army to not trust their senses! They need to focus only on the boos and their fellow soldiers, anything else is an illusion!"
Princess Daisy hurriedly relays the announcement through the intercom, though it's clear that some pilots are already falling victim to King Boos tricks. A few planes fall out of formation, with one or two even crashing into allies in apparent panic.
Meanwhile, Luigi is also suffering the effects of the illusion magic. He loses track of the attacking spirits, distracted by images of mad dogs, clattering skeletons, and towering walls of purple fire that cause him to freeze up.
Professor E. Gadd can't make his way to Luigi's due to the boos swarming the deck between him and his apprentice, so he calls out at the top of his voice: "Luigi, my boy! Focus! Just keep sucking up the boos! Nothing else is real, I assure you!"
Luigi seems to heed the professors words. For a time he is snapped out of his paralyzed state and fighting back, until he sees something that causes him to stop listening completely: A portrait. A portrait of Mario, rigid and frightened, floating just out of reach.
Luigi tries to free his brother with The Pultergust to no effect. After a few failed tries, he puts away the nozzle and draws closer to the painting, reaching out to take hold of it...
Tumblr media
Suddenly, the image of Mario attains a malicious smile, and the entire illusion disappears as Luigi feels the ground fall out from under him. A boo slams into his back, fully sending him hurtling over the edge of the airship and falling helplessly toward the mountains below.
Luigi can faintly hear Princess Daisy yelling his name as he plummets until the air whizzing past his ears and his own panicked screams drown out everything else. Flailing in utter helplessness, Luigi is unable to do anything other than brace himself as the ground rushes toward him.
Then, before he makes impact, something snatches him by the overalls and slows his descent.
Tumblr media
He looks up, and there is Polterpup. The dog playfully drops him the final foot to the ground unharmed, where Luigi leaps up and wraps the dog in a grateful hug.
Tumblr media
When he eventually releases Polterpup from the embrace, Luigi looks around to try and understand his surroundings. The land, while mountainous and rocky, is covered in flat landings of lush green grass. All around are blue warp pipes and square boulders carved with glowering faces that give Luigi a start when he first notices them. To his relief, they prove to be nothing but lifeless stone upon closer inspection.
Tumblr media
Suddenly, the DS (Dual Scream) in his pocket rings and vibrates, once again startling poor Luigi. He clumsily pulls out the device and flicks it open to see E. Gadd's face on the upper screen, while data tracking surrounding spectral activity scrolls along the lower screen.
"Luigi! You're alive!?" E. Gadd's voice asks, crackly but audible despite the sounds of mayhem in the background. "I saw that your device survived the impact, but I didn't think you survived the impact too!" "Heh, yeah," Luigi answers with a smile, glancing down at a very proud looking Polterpup. "It's okey dokey. I-" "That was quite the leap you took! No parachute or tanooki leaf or anything! Sonny, how on earth are you alive!?"
Before Luigi can answer, the voice of Princess Daisy suddenly interjects. "No way!! Is that really him!? Is he okay!? Let me talk to him!" A flowery glove and a puffy orange sleeve slip into the view of the screen briefly before E. Gadd wriggles out of her grip. "Princess! Please! Focus on steering! We're still in the middle of a war zone!"
The princess could be heard saying something else, but she stays obediently at the ship's steering wheel while the professor continues. "Believe it or not Luigi, you couldn't have landed in a more perfect spot! Er... all your bones are still intact, correct?" "I think so?" "Perfect! Then I'm sending you coordinates to one of my labs. It just so happens that I've got a device in this very location that will make getting into King Boo's mansion easy! Even easier than if you hadn't gotten knocked off the ship, in fact!... if the device works, of course."
Luigi looks up at the sky. It is dotted with long smoke trails from damaged planes, and in the distance he can still see and hear the sounds of battle. "What about you?" he asks nervously. "And Princess Daisy? and-"
"Don't worry about it," E. Gadd assures. "Just focus on your side of the mission. This unexpected attack just means the army will have to split up earlier than expected to collect the pieces of the dark moon. Boos are stronger as a group after all, breaking them up will make them easier to deal with, and now that King Boo thinks you're dead and that The Poltergust is no longer a threat, we've got the element of surprise on our side!"
With that reassurance, the professor's face disappears from the screen, replaced with a map and little flashing arrows indicating which direction Luigi should go. Luigi, with little other choice, gives Polterpup a gentle smile as he starts heading in the assigned direction.

The Inhumans was forgotten for obvious reasons but it's still the funniest thing Marvel ever did. So many of their bad moves are based on floundering in recent years, but this one was pure hubris
Creating a TV show based on a relatively obscure superhero team bc they were flogging them mercilessly at the time as a kind of replacement for the X-Men (since they were mad about not having the film rights). Taking what was a cheap-looking network TV show, and releasing its pilot in IMAX theaters, then being surprised when people went "wait this is a shitty network pilot why is this in IMAX". Watching it get wretched reviews and cancelling it in the space of a month. The way Marvel is so devoted to memory holing it they won't let MCU movies mention Hawaii lest anyone remember that Inhumans was set there. But we remember it. I mean not any specific parts of it bc it was really, really boring, but in a broader sense
