Design for jazz
He's the captain, pilot and owner of the apex bomber, the vessel that brought our autobots to earth, and optimus' second in command
Tumblr media
Jazz is a culture lover at heart, always educating himself on how other people like to have fun, he's respectful, and brightens the day of everyone he meets with an undeniable sense of style as he does it,
jazz was born like any other autobot, just with more celebration and applause, jazz was lucky enough to have been made by a deeply caring community of immigrants around lower omega supreme that threated him as their little group project, exposing him early on to a vareity of views and experiences that shaped his open minded view of the world.
Soon enough, jazz would leave the ark to explore the greater universe. when the apex bomber eventually came into jazz's possession it was, as the name implied, a derelict cybertron era bombing ship, but with just a bit of axel grease (her right hand specifically) he got the ship fit for adventure, his experience offworld is what got him optimus' to pick him as the pilot to take his crew to earth

wada sez: For trademark reasons, there was a period where “Bluestreak” was renamed “Silverstreak” for his modern toys, including his Universe body seen here—in reference to the fact that he was only ever called Bluestreak at all because Bob Budiansky was given pictures of the unaltered blue/silver version of the Diaclone toy, rather than the all-silver version it ended up as. Smokescreen appears here in his Alternators body, an all-blue Subaru Impreza WRC rally car. Jazz’s alternate names are all references: “Coolsville” is a nickname suggested by Budiansky, “Meister” is his Japanese name, and “Munka Spanka” is the name of an alien racer who—due to shoddy animation—many fans believed had erroneously been depicted as Jazz. The joke about using “blast” in a name references a common practise from the time.
