The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) released images of the first time U.S. F-35 fighters landed in Thailand, where U.S. Air Force fifth-generation stealth fighters will participate in joint exercise Cope Tiger 2024.

Eight F-35A Lightning II aircraft were deployed from Eielson Air Base, Alaska, for the exercise that takes place on March 18 and 19, with the first four landing on March 7 at Korat Air Base, where RTAF Wing 1 is located.

Four more USAF jets are expected to arrive by the weekend at the Wing 1 base in Nakhon Ratchasima province, in preparation for joint training with the Royal Thai and Singapore Air Force. Under the Cope Tiger 2024 training code, the commander of Wing 1 welcomed the USAF F-35s.

The first landing of F-35 jets in Thailand coincides with the largest air exercise in the region, called Cope Tiger 2024. The F-35 previously participated in the Cobra Gold exercise, but took off and landed from an aircraft carrier on the coast.

The Cope Tiger 2024 air exercise will not only be conducted by RTAF jets in Wing 1, but also by Wing 23 in Udon Thani, with the participation of helicopters from the Thai Air Force of Wing 2 in Lopburi.

The air exercise between the three nations is attended by the Boeing F-15SG Eagle fighters and the Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Fighting Falcon jets of the Singapore Air Force, as well as the General Dynamics F-16A/B and F-16ADF Fighting Falcon jets of the Wing 1 Thai Air Force, T-50TH light attack aircraft from Wing 4 and Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet from Wing 23.

is she a skinhead or is she not? why is she bald? why is she all about? these were the questions i remember people asking upon the release of the video for sinéad o’connor’s “nothing compares 2 u.” without any historical context, these questions seem odd, but with sleekly produced pop/dance divas like janet jackson and paula abdul dominating both radio and mtv, sinéad’s presence gave folks whiplash!

but in a matter of months after her mainstream breakthrough with the touchstone that is the single “nothing compares 2 u,” sinéad o’connor’s voice, presence and immense talent captured the hearts and imagination of millions around the world.

sinéad o'connor, one of the most polarizing, influential, and revered artists, emerged as a prominent figure in the music industry when her 1987 debut album “the lion and the cobra” achieved gold status in the US. the success softened the ground for her monstrously successful 1990 sophomore effort, “i do not want what i haven’t got.”

released in march 1990, “i do not want what i haven’t got” was launched by the emotionally charged ballad “nothing compares 2 u.” written and produced by prince for the family, a band he assembled, “nothing compares u 2” appeared on the family’s self-titled 1985 album. four years later, the song was reimagined by sinéad, who co-produced her version with nelle hooper of soul II soul fame.

released in january 1990, “nothing compares 2 u” became a surprise crossover hit amid a musical landscape of pop, dance, and hip-hop-oriented singles. the song’s success was largely due to o’connor’s haunting vocal delivery that beautifully expressed a deep sense of loss and grief that people feel when losing a loved one.

the accompanying music video for “nothing compares 2 u” brilliantly communicated the pain and anger that is accompanied with mourning. consisting mostly of close-ups of o’connor’s face, the video reaches an emotional climax towards the end when two tears roll down her face, one on each cheek.

sinéad’s version of “nothing compares 2 u” became her first and only #1 single when it topped billboard’s hot 100 for four weeks in the spring of 1990 and became one of the year’s most critically and commercially successful singles and propelled the "i don't want what i haven't got" album to 7,000,000 in global sales.

like many other artists, sinéad recognized the devastating impact of the AIDS crisis and used her fame and influence to raise awareness and compassion for people living with AIDS. in late 1990, sinéad participated in the groundbreaking AIDS fundraising album “red hit + blue.” her cover of cole porter’s “you do something to me” was backed by a music video that featured queer imagery and sinéad in a kind of campy drag.

in the decades that followed sinead’s global success of “nothing compares 2 u,” she was an outspoken and uncompromising activist advocating for marginalized communities, including sexual abuse survivors, LGBTQ people, and people living with HIV.

on july 26, 2023, the family of sinéad o’connor posted the statement, “it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sinéad.” she was 56 years old. her hauntingly beautiful voice and emotionally charged performances that garnered attention and admiration from audiences worldwide will continue to live on. her audacity, courage, and advocacy have left a lasting mark on HIV/AIDS and LGBTQ history.

I wish I was more excited for Death Stranding 2. I really do, but I was so unimpressed by the first one that it’s hard to believe something great is going to happen. I know this is a pretty unpopular opinion, but for me, DS was close to greatness, to truly be a shock to the industry, and it frustrated me that it wasn’t the case.

In my opinion, DS is an amazing core gameplay loop brought down by some of the most unnecessary and pretentious style choices Kojima has ever made. Walking around in the post-apocalyptic landscape of the U.S. carrying stuff to deliver was unexpectedly engrossing, and I wish I had spent more time doing just that without interruptions. Just putting music on and negotiating the terrain while keeping my cargo intact was immersive enough. I was annoyed every time the game took me away from that to listen to characters or watch a plot I couldn’t care less about.

Because, yeah, that’s the thing. The story of Death Stranding was trying so hard to be weird and quirky and mysterious and awe-inducing that it failed every single time it asked me to take it seriously, or pay attention. The surreal apocalypse of Death Stranding has potential, I think, but the imagery invoked to depict it’s so… tryhard. Very “this is a metaphor, man” that, granted, is the MO of Kojima, but here feels gratuitous and hollow.

I was never intrigued about what was going on. I just wanted to test this sweet golden exo-skeleton I just got and see if I can reach that damned Windmill without much trouble this time. 

I didn’t like any single character besides Sam, either. And that’s because Norman Reedus just seems to be playing himself, and he’s as annoyed and uninterested in the going ons of New America or whatever as I was. I don’t understand it, Kojima is well known for creating absolutely ridiculous but memorable and charismatic characters that are deep enough to care about them. The Cobra Unit it’s still my Gold Standard of how to do “weird and poignant” characters. They are practically Lynchian in how the balance between silliness and seriousness can create very powerful storytelling moments.

Here you have a boring fuck named Die-Hardman, Guillermo del Toro for some reason, and a bunch of other losers I could not be bothered to remember. One of them was called Hot Mama or something. She looked like this:  

All of them feel artificial and even a little condescending when talking to you. It’s all very “we are like family here”-type of corporate poise, pretending to give a shit about you while urging you to get on with your damn job. “You are our most important collaborator, Sam! Now go cross the Mountain Made of Knives to deliver this pizza. Don’t you fucking dare to tip it over. You will have a complimentary soda from Management if you survive :D”. They literally offer you likes in return.

HR at Kojima Productions must be a fucking nightmare.

Finally hitting the road after two hours of bullshit feels good, though. Preparing your cargo, finding the non-metaphorical balance between the boxes you need to deliver and the tools you need to survive the world is the absolute best kind of Video Game Choice you can offer. The post-apocalyptic U.S. is beautiful to look at, and incredibly inviting to walk in (seriously, the primary terrain consisting of black stone, deep green moss, and rainy weather is one of the best outdoor vibes I’ve seen in any game), and the idea of slowly building up some infrastructure to make each delivery easier, or at least quicker, was amazing.

Without a doubt, my favorite moment was taking a day or two to build a zipline through the mountains. I put down the final one and came back to the starting point in a couple of minutes. After hours of hard work and resource gathering, it felt amazing. I really wish that was the whole game.

Yes, the whole game. No combat. No bosses. Hell, even no plot. Just you, a pair of sturdy boots, and some ingenuity to open yourself a path. 

That’s what I mean when I say that DS was close to greatness. What if Death Stranding was a AAA Video Game dedicated to blue-collar work? Can you imagine what *that* could have done to our current hellscape of over-bloated, over designed, live service, micro-transaction infested, big budget games? Can you imagine a game of this scope and resources literally being an Uber Eats Simulator? And being successful at it?

Because, let’s be frank. Kojima’s name by itself was a guarantee of copies sold, maybe even block-busting success. If anyone in the industry could have pulled that kind of game, it was him. And I’m pretty sure that was more or less the idea, but the final product is still full of, in my opinion, unnecessary enemies, combat, shootings, set-pieces and boss fights. You know, video-gamey stuff. All wrapped up in a plot that wants to be deep and philosophical so, so bad, and fails in every single metric.

I fought the final boss (or what I think was the final boss), got killed, and then realized that I didn’t gave a fuck about the conclusion of the story. I’d rather be delivering shoes or whatever. I’d rather be admiring the scenery for a bit before moving on and getting the job done. I’d rather be listening to music.

I never finished Death Stranding. It eventually left Game Pass without me noticing.

That was a shame, I was doing great progress with a highway, and had plans to expand my zipline network. But after avoiding the game for a month or so, I decided it wasn’t worth it. All the infrastructure you build decays quickly (thanks to a Rain that Makes you Old falling almost constantly all over the map), so I figured anything I built was surely gone by then, and I would need to start from scratch. Or even worse, maybe other players might have finished it without my input. In any case, I made my peace with it. Death Stranding was a good video game, like many others, even when it had the chance to be unique. If only Kojima had decided to not include the more gamey aspects, or had an editor telling him “no” when writing the story, or didn’t have the pathological need to flex his Hollywood connections.

Death Stranding 2 looks more of the same, sadly. But at least I know I’ll have some very rad moments of solitude between boring firefights when the thing gets released on Game Pass in 2028 or so. Meanwhile I’ll keep looking for the actual walking simulator I didn’t know I needed. 

Maybe that is going to be my very own Death Stranding, I guess.

Sinéad O’Connor, Dies at 56

Sinéad O’Connor, has died, The Irish Times reports. She was 56.

Her cause of death has yet to be revealed.

Her family said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”

O’Connor, who was outspoken about her decades-long struggle with mental illness, wrote on her Facebook page earlier this month that she had moved back to London after 23 years and was finishing an album to be released next year. She also shared plans to tour in Australia and New Zealand in 2024, and in Europe, the United States and other territories in 2025.

O’Connor had a difficult childhood after the separation of her parents when she was eight. The singer claimed from an early age that her mother, who she lived with after the separation, physically abused her, which led to O’Connor’s vocal advocacy for abused children. At 15, O’Connor spent eighteen months at a Magdalene Asylum due to her truancy and shoplifting. Even at an early age, however, O’Connor showed musical talent and, after moving schools, recorded a four-song demo. She eventually formed the band Ton Ton Macoute, dropped out of school, and moved to Dublin.

O’Connor’s career progressed after she began working with ex-U2 record head Fachtna O’Ceallaigh and she found early success with the 1987 release of her debut album “The Lion and the Cobra,” which achieved gold status and earned her a Grammy nomination for best female vocal rock performance.

Her international breakthrough came with the release of her second album, “I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got,” which included O’Connor’s new arrangement of “Nothing Compares 2 U,” a song originally written by Prince and released under his side project, the Family. O’Connor’s rendition reached No. 1 in several countries, and remained atop the charts in Ireland for 11 weeks. The song earned her a Grammy nom for record of the year, as well as another best female vocal rock performance nod. The album won her a Grammy for best alternative music performance.

She also appeared as Our Lady in Neil Jordan’s 1997 film “The Butcher Boy.” O’Connor went on to release eight more albums, and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Music Video, Long Form for her live concert VHS “Year of the Horse” in 1990. Her 1996 song “Famine” also received a Grammy nod for Best Music Video, Short Form. In 2012, the song “Lay Your Head Down,” which she performed for the soundtrack to the film “Albert Nobbs,” received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song.

Throughout her career, O’Connor has gained notoriety for her outspoken nature and several controversies that have surrounded her. In 1993, O’Connor ripped a picture of the Pope into pieces while singing an a capella version of Bob Marley’s “War” on “Saturday Night Live” as a protest against sexual abuse within the church; NBC received over 4,400 complaint calls as a result.

In 2013, O’Connor wrote an open letter to Miley Cyrus regarding Cyrus’ sexually explicit imagery and warning her of the treatment of women in the music industry, urging Cyrus not to allow herself to be “pimped” by music executives. The letter received mixed responses from the public, and musician Amanda Palmer wrote an open letter in response stating that O’Connor was “off target” with her critique.

O’Connor revealed in a 2007 interview that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2003 and had attempted suicide in 1999 on her 33rd birthday. Seven years later, however, she stated that she had gotten three further opinions stating that she was not bipolar.

In 2015, O’Connor posted on her Facebook page that she had taken an overdose as a result of troubles between herself and Donal Lunny, her ex-husband and the father of her youngest child Shane. Irish police later said they had located O’Connor and she was “safe and sound” and receiving medical attention.

In August 2017, she posted an emotional video to her Facebook page, stating that she had three mental illnesses and felt alone after losing custody of her 13-year-old son Shane. She continued that she had wanted to kill herself for several years and that only her psychiatrists and doctor were keeping her alive. She pleaded for someone in her family to take care of her, and added that she was “one of millions” who are stigmatized for their mental illness.

O’Connor is survived by her three children. Her son, Shane, died by suicide last year at age 17.

O’Connor had switched to a new Twitter account at the beginning of July, using her full name. Her final Twitter post on the new account, on July 17, alluded to her son’s suicide, as she linked to a “Great Tibetan Compassion Mantra” and wrote, “For all mothers of Suicided children.”

Fair enough. You have a rare face claim too. If I'm being very honest, I never seen or heard of her before. But now you know how I feel about my celebrities, face claims and everything in between those details.

I've been writing out notes whenever I think of anything, for character profiles and stories. Nothing written yet. But still improvement for me anyway. So I'm taking that as a win at the moment.

Relationships are still undecided. Obviously the canonical couples will stay.. Kizzy and Kaito, Yamato and Naomi even though they never got together, possibly Sarah and Ice (since they were apparently a couple in the manga, which I'm not really know how canonical it is compared from the show). But for original relationships? I'm starting to believe a relationship with Rocky for one character because who wouldn't love a romantic man like him.. Actually I feel like Rocky's the one character who I've overly thought about, so I have headcanons for his character in a lot of ways. So that helps me to write for him. And as for my other characters, well, I'm still figuring their relationships out because there is a chance I'm stuck on that.. Like for my orange character. If she's in a romantic relationship, I could probably only ever imagine her with a guy like Cobra. I'm not saying yes, but I'm not saying no either. So it's a maybe. But I can not see her in a romantic relationship with anyone else besides him. And as for the blue and red characters, I don't know their relationships yet - whether their ships are romantic or platonic.

Exactly! That's what I've been doing. Like.. I can't imagine them being that similar and different to their characters at the same time, which I know makes no sense. Like... Cobra was this cheerful teenager before he became this brooding man, I understand why he became that way but still. Then you see Takanori being sweet smiley man, who is a very opposite person to Cobra. There's Rocky who is this Ice King with this heart of gold, cares about people - especially women - despite his the stoically aloof appearance. Then you see Keiji who also seems like the opposite of his character too. And, which is funny, because Rocky is a man who owns multiple successful businesses (Club Heaven being the most popular business, mainly because we never see any of those other businesses). Keiji and Takanori are completely talented men, so I will admit that they know how to dance - along with the other men - but I can't imagine Cobra or Rocky dancing at all.

And is it weird that a part of me can imagine Rocky wearing street the clothes that Keiji wears in the One Time One Life music video but can't imagine him wearing the baggy street clothes in Higher Ground video. Maybe the black leather in his black era, but not baggy clothes though. And I thought the outfit from One Time One Life because the clothes were mostly black, white and grey. I may be overthinking this.

Have you ever seen the movie Clockwork Orange? Did you know that the White Rascals gang was inspired by that movie. So that might be another reason why I enjoy the White Rascals gang a lot too.

Yeah.. I might give the show a chance. I'm curious about the Pending Train show. Mostly because of Yuki Yamada. But still. It's a new show I can watch, after catching up with the other shows I'm watching now.

Are you watching the DTS spinoff movie? Honestly, the most interesting parts of that movie is when the characters from Rascals and Daruma got mixed up helping the Sannoh boys. That's about it.

i like using lesser known fcs but then i also end up with the problem of having no resources to use in edits. which sucks because i like making edits for my ocs and their ships, though it’s hard enough finding screencaps for j/kdramas anyway.

kizzy and kaito, and yamato and naomi absolutely. im still thinking about maybe writing a kizzykaito fic. i usually end up developing an oc around the character im shipping them with; it obviously won’t be the only thing about them, but it is a jumping off point for me. admittedly, im toying around with a polyship idea for my oc with cobra x murayama bc i think it’s a fun ship on it’s own.

it’s a real testament to their acting skills, because i cannot imagine cobra or rocky acting the way their actors do, especially with the dancing.

im still waiting for the tokyorev movie to drop with the english sub, at this rate the next season of the anime is going to come out first. need my draken fix p l e a s e! i miss him! also kazutora. need to see nijiro again too.

i watched the dtc movie last night. it … wasn’t my favourite. maybe because i don’t really care about dan or chiharu that much?? or because im not a nosy person myself so the three of them butting into these people’s lives was a lil ehh for me?? also chiharu’s crush on mari made me. uncomfortable. the white rascals and daruma boys were definitely the best parts of the movie; though i was imagining hyuga was back at the daruma hq like ‘where tf are the boys? 🤨’

Yes, after he gets a stable job. He would love kids but he doesn’t want to be like his dad and end up abandoning his family so he would make extra sure he could support the child and you and makes a conscious effort to be there for his family no matter what. Asking about their day, being involved in their sports/clubs/hobbies, making snacks when they have friends over. He just wants to be the Cool Dad �� and would probably try to teach them karate before they could even sit up.

He loves to have you sit between his legs and lean back against his chest so he can wrap his arms around you and make sure you’re always safe and warm. It’s the perfect position for movies, video games, deep conversations, baths. You are my sunshine. As cheesy as it is, Miguel sees you as the shining light in his life. You make everything better, whether that’s an injury, a bad day at school, or losing a fight at training. He knows he can always go to you and be distracted by your beautiful smile.

F = Feelings (When did they know they were in love?)

Miguel first knew he was in love with you when you met his family for the first time. They invited you over for dinner one night and he told you his Yaya didn’t speak much english, so you asked him to teach you some spanish so you could talk with her. It wasn’t perfect, you made lots of grammar mistakes and really only said a couple sentences to her, but the effort you made combined with the smile on Yaya’s face made him fall absolutely head-over-heels.

If you already speak spanish, it would be seeing you talk with his Yaya and joke around with her over dinner.

G = Gentle (Are they gentle? If so, how?)

The most gentle boy on the face of the Earth. Like I said earlier, Miguel keeps his hands to himself unless you tell him otherwise. The first time you guys kiss, he barely moves a muscle. You had to grab his hands and put them on your waist. Even now, when he’s teaching you karate, he refuses to hit or grab you, so you honestly don’t really learn anything lol and if you’re sick or sleeping, he’s like a feather, so scared to disturb you. It’s like touching a kitten honestly

H = Hands (How do they like to hold hands?)

All. The. Time. He’s not too big on PDA, except for hand-holding. This is how he lets everyone know you’re taken without seeming possessive or gross. Miguel will grab your hand at the mall, at school, while y’all are cuddling, at the beach, literally whenever you’re in arm’s reach from him, he’s holding your hand.

I = Impression (What was their first impression?)

Miguel’s first impression of you is that you’re this bright ray of sunshine. He’s drawn to you like a magnet. Your eyes, your smile, your laugh! And when he finally works up the nerve to say hi (Strike first!) he thinks his heart might actually melt. When you actually laugh at the joke he makes and hold out your hand to introduce yourself, he turns bright red and can barely speak omfg this poor boy. But luckily you think it’s sweet and keep talking to him.

J = Jealousy (Do they get jealous?)

He did at first, we’ve all seen how he acts with Sam and Robby, but you lay down the law. You have to tell him that it’s not cool, it makes people uncomfy, and then he finally starts to work on it. Now he’s better. He still feels jealous sometimes, but he trusts you and can control himself a bit more.

K = Kiss (How do they kiss? Who initiated the first kiss?)

So your first kiss. You were giving him The Look for like 10 minutes straight and he never made a move. He just stared at you. So you had to be the first one to actually lean in, but once you did, he met you halfway. His kisses match his personality. Sweet, gentle, and goofy, but with a more dominant, aggressive side if you know how to bring it out ;)

L = Love (Who says ‘I love you’ first?)

He did. After you had dinner with his family and he realized he loved you, he told you almost immediately. This boy just wears his heart on his sleeve. He was walking you home and when you got to your house and turned around to kiss him goodnight, he had a funny look on his face. When you asked him what was wrong he kind of went ILOVEYOU! Really fast and you had to make him say it again slower because you thought he had a stroke or smth lmaooo but once he took a deep breath and said it more clearly, you jumped on him and kissed his whole face and said it back a hundred times.

M = Memory (What’s their favourite memory together?)

When he first introduced you to Sensei Lawrence. He thought Sensei was gonna be super mean and make fun of you, but turns out you guys had a lot in common. You loved 80’s rock music, and responded to his sass with even more sass. Johnny almost couldn’t believe Miguel was able to get such a cool babe. You guys all had lunch after taking a tour of the dojo, and it was a super fun day! You all drove around in Johnny’s car with the windows down listening to Guns ‘n Roses.

N = Nickel (Do they spoil? Do they buy the person they love everything?)

Miguel spoils you in his own little way. His family isn’t as fortunate as others, but he still finds ways to make you feel special. Instead of a diamond necklace, he gives you a cool rock he found outside and cleaned up. Instead of taking you to expensive restaurants, he spends all day cooking with Yaya to make a nice picnic for you guys to have on the beach. And he saves up to buy you nice gifts for your birthday or anniversary.

O = Orange (What colour reminds them of their other half?)

Rose gold. You’re so beautiful to him and have this natural charm that everyone falls for. You’re so radiant and yet soft and unique. He just love love loves you.

P = Pet names (What pet names do they use?)

Sweety, sweetheart, baby, gorgeous, and Princess during more intimate moments.

Q = Quaint (What is their favourite non-modern thing?)

80’s rock music. He learns to love it through Sensei Lawrence. He even saves up to buy a record player so he can feel more connected to the past.

Build blanket forts, cuddle, bake cookies, he might even let you put makeup on him if you ask nice.

S = Sad (How do they cheer themselves/others up?)

Humor. He loves cracking jokes and lightening the mood. If you’re ever feeling down you know you can go to him and he will turn that frown upside down in mere minutes. Honestly even just being in his presence makes you happier. He cheers himself up by working out, taking some alone time to get his feelings out, and then going out with some friends or with you.

Umm, karate! Duh lol the boy is obsessed with it. Also superhero movies, video games, his day, he’s honestly kind of a rambler. He can talk about anything and everything if he’s nervous enough. Let’s not forget the gas station scene in season 1…

U = Unencumbered (What helps them relax?)

You, dark rooms, white noise, puppies, linen scented candles, his mom’s cooking.

V = Vaunt (What do they like to show off? What are they proud of?)

His new muscles. Ever since joining Cobra Kai, he’s gotten pretty ripped and now it’s a struggle to get him to keep his shirt on. He worked hard for that body, he wants people to see how good he looks!

W = Wedding (When, how, where do they propose?)

After college, he takes you on a hike up to this ridge overlooking a lake. It’s fall, the leaves are changing colors, and there’s no one around. You guys have been holding hands the whole time, but his hand is super sweaty even though it’s like 50 degrees out. You guys finally get to the top of the ridge and he grabs both your hands and tells you all the things he loves about you. This boy basically recites your whole love story, and as soon as he sticks his hand in his pocket you know what’s going on. He barely even got the box out of his pocket before you were jumping on him screaming Yes! You guys fell to the ground and he stopped you so he could officially get the words out. You were both crying, it was very beautiful.

Summary: To make it up to Miguel decides to surprise you with some of your favorite things when he comes to play video games with you.

“-And this I wore almost everyday.” Johnny said as he passed Miguel his old Red Cobra Kai jacket. Johnny had been trying to change Miguel’s style like he had done with his music preference, he didn’t want his star student to dishonor the name of Cobra Kai with his clothing.

Johnny passed Miguel the jacket as Miguel stared at it. There was a tiny cobra sewn on to the corner and it had a few pockets sewn. It was a red leather jacket, and Miguel ran his hand down it to feel the leather.

“Thank you Sensei!” Miguel smiled up at him as he took the jacket from Johnny. He had always looked up to his Sensei so he was so excited that he had a jacket Johnny had worn back when he was in Cobra Kai. Miguel felt his phone buzz in his pocket and went to look at the text.

Y/n: My brother gave me his old Space Invaders game set. Wanna stop by after to play it?

Miguel smiled at his phone, he hadn’t spent much time with Y/n lately being busy at the Dojo after his win at the All Valley. He had felt really bad recently so when he saw this text he wanted to make the day special for you.

“Thanks for the jacket Sensei. I got to go and get some stuff for me and Y/n’s date, I’ll see you soon!” Miguel waved at Johnny before running out the door.

You had both agreed for him to come around 4 so you would have then rest of the day until 9 to play that game and hang out. But before Miguel when t to your house he want to pick up some stuff. First, he went to his home (His Yaya had been kind enough to wash his new jacket as he went out to grab spoke stuff), dropped off his jacket and left for the mall. 

He bought some of your favorite flowers from the tiny flower shop just inside the mall. He also got some of your favorite snacks and made sure he had all your favorites not wanting to miss a single one. So, after picking up his jacket he left for your house.

Your parents greeted him with open arms seeing as he was around a lot. He was one of Eli well now Hawk’s best friend and your boyfriend. He left to wear your room at the end of the hallway on the second floor. He knocked and waited to hear a reply before going in because he was a respectful boyfriend.

“One second!” He heard you shout as he heard the sound of rushing from the other side of the door. You opened the door and misled right at him relief and excitement washing over your face. You haven't seen your boyfriend a lot this week seeing as he was practicing more knowing that he was the champion and it was summer. 

“Hey what’s in the bag?” You asked as you opened the door to let him in.

“Well we got (Insert favorite snacks) and (Insert favorite flowers)” He walked into your room while handing you the flowers and resting the bag of your snacks on top of your bed.

“This is really sweet Miguel. You really didn't have to do this thank you.” You gushed as you took a deep breath inhaling the sweet smell of the flowers your very kind boyfriend had just gifted you.

“Anything for you.” He breathed as he kissed you. It had been awhile since he had done so and boy did it feel good.You laughed as you broke from the kiss and looked at his clothing.

“Trying a new style?” You asked as you noticed the change in his clothing.

“Well you know, since I am a famous person in the Valley so I should look the part.” He did a little spin which caused you to burst out laughing. It was times like these on which you really just felt that spark of love in the air.

“H-hey, isn’t that your Sensei’s jacket?” You asked as you pointed to the red leather jacket he was styling.

“What don't you like?” He asked, slightly offended. You both laughed as he took off the jacket and threw it at you.

“You should wear it.” He told you but you looked speciale. It was his Sensei old jacket afterall.

“Don’t worry.’ He said as he looked at your confused expression “ My Yaya washed it.” You took that as a sign that it was ok and put the jacket on. It felt nice as they felt the jacket on your arms. Even though Miguel had only been wearing said jacket it still smelled like him.

“Thank you.” You said as you hugged him. It had been really sweet that he had come over with your favorite flowers, snack and even gave you his new jacket. He truly had a heart of gold.

“No problem.” He laughed as he returned the hug.

Is that not Terry Silver? He was clearly bored with his rich, executive life in KK3. But he came alive when he started scheming and met Daniel.

I mean, he started off with his target being Mr. Miyagi but quickly became hyper fixated on Daniel. There was a shift of focus.

I have a feeling that when we see Terry again(hopefully in s4), he'll once again only feel truly alive in his interactions/manipulation with Daniel, after decades of just bland existing. In a parallel to Kreese, who credits Johnny with bringing him back to life.

We could apply this to the fake persona Terry bought to befriend Daniel, how he found Daniel's weakness that way. But the shipper in me, likes to pretend that Terry and Daniel had more interactions after the '85 All Valley. That maybe Terry tried to be involved in Daniel's life somehow, either by trying to make amends or by messing with Daniel further, and Daniel shut that shit down and Terry realized he couldn't get any form of relationship back. Cue Terry ruining Miyagi's Little Trees and Daniel getting a restraining order! Any headcanon or theory fits lol.

I am crossing my fingers that Season 4 provides more insight or flashbacks 👀

It's hard to believe Terry just walked away like nothing after Daniel beat Mike. Like he literally walks offscreen with a shocked expression on his face at the end of the movie. But what about after??

We deserve to know lmao

Anyway

The first verse is Totally Terry.

And the second verse is 100% Daniel:

Like??? Are you kidding me! Basically, despite Terry completely using Daniel and betraying his trust, a bond was formed. And Terry took a piece of Daniel with him. It haunts Daniel that he cared about someone that never really existed. He has trusts issues to this day, and like he tells his daughter, he lives with the fear every day.

Daniel feels like it was all his fault though. That he brought it on himself. I think when he meets Terry again, they're going to fall into their old habits. Whether Daniel realizes it or not. Terry's going to exploit that deep down Daniel does care about him. Because Daniel will still be a tangle inside of guilt, admiration, and anger.

Although, it would be fun to see Daniel doing a little exploiting of his own. Because I think deep down Terry cares about Daniel as well. I could be reaching, but they're both schemers now and it would be fun to see them play a little cat and mouse. 😘

Possibly both of them pretending not to care. This fits better with their s4 versions. While they try to hurt and outdo the other. These two characters are actually so similar, but that's another discussion.

I still think it'd be fun to see a flashback of Terry offering to pay Daniel's way through college, or the dealership, and an argument breaking out and it ending badly. Johnny has had several flashbacks of his younger self, whether with Sid or Kreese, and if this show continues to follow its theme of balance then we are due some flashbacks with a younger Daniel. 👀

It seems like Seasons 1-3 are Johnny's trauma and possibly Seasons 4-6 will be Daniel's...

And if anyone's wondering why I think Daniel got a restraining order against Silver, it's because Daniel has never seemed afraid that Terry would pop up somewhere. Even after he saw that Kreese was back in Season 2. Like when he went to the Cobra Kai dojo at night and had that little standoff with Kreese, it didn't look like Daniel thought it was a possibility that Terry was in the building or about to pop out and scare him.

Again, I'm probably reaching lol, the answer is probably much more simple in regards to the show and its writers. And anyway, even if there was a restraining order, I'm sure Terry had that removed with his connections almost immediately. And even if he left Daniel alone that doesn't mean he hasn't been keeping tabs on him🤣🤣

To me it's like, "diamonds" being the superficial go ahead and leave I don't need you, but also "diamonds" being the take my heart with you and all that implies when it's toxic.

I can definitely see this song being used for gifsets and music videos. Especially after we get some prime silverusso scenes once s4 comes out 👀🙏

It really represents both eras. And I can't wait to see how much these characters and their dynamic have changed or stayed the same when they're in the same room again.

Something that’s bugged me for a while about LOK is how they handled the Fire Nation.

They establish very clearly that monarchy is flawed, doomed to fail, autocratic, etc. I can’t really speak to whether they’re right or wrong on that from a modern perspective (I’m American and thus haven’t had experiences with monarchs), but from a historical perspective, they do seem to be right.

So then...why don’t they ever criticize the Fire Lord?? Or question the position?? Or ANYTHING??

Like...I headcanon that Zuko (and later Izumi) have been implementing changes to dilute the power of the position, and it’ll probably take at least 300 years to dismantle it entirely (since it took 300 years to consolidate that position as autocratic, according to the wiki). Zuko’s suffered at the hands of one (nearly two, if not for Ursa) Firelord(s), and Izumi is very clearly disillusioned with her family history. I don’t believe for one second that they’d just...let the monarchy keep going unchecked–it doesn’t suit them.

But...why didn’t the show ever give Zuko or Izumi a chance to outright SAY IT?? Just have Korra or someone question why the Fire Nation is allowed to keep its monarchy, and Zuko and/or Izumi can explain the changes they’ve been implementing over the past 70 or so years! Something to show they’re actively working to dismantle the position!

It’s not a huge thing, but in some ways, that’s why it upsets me. It could’ve been added so easily, if they wanted to

But even here, in the heart of being von Karma’s protege, despite whatever he may claim...Edgeworth has faith in defense attorneys. He’s thinking of his father in this moment as he confronts Calisto Yew.

And it makes me wonder, when he sees Phoenix again after years apart and so much change...how much of his father does he see in Phoenix? How much of his admiration for Phoenix is his crush on him, and how much is him remembering his father?

Panic at the Disco in Australia & New Zealand (August 2008)

This tour felt like a mini Decaydance Fest since The Academy Is... and Cobra Starship were the opening bands. Those two had done Warped Tour that summer, so they weren’t with Panic in Asia at the start of August.

SCHEDULE

August 19: arrival in Brisbane via Sydney via Jakarta (the 2 support bands flew in from Los Angeles)

August 20: Brisbane show

August 21: all 3 bands flew from Brisbane to Sydney together in the afternoon

August 22: Sydney show

August 23: travel day & Melbourne show (PATD’s crew caught an early flight and the band flew in later that day)

August 24: all 3 bands flew from Melbourne to Adelaide together in the afternoon

August 25: Adelaide show

PATD’s previous shows in Australia & New Zealand had happened in fall 2006 during the main Fever-era frenzy. Those shows sold out really fast despite getting bumped to bigger & bigger venues (I think they could’ve pulled off a sold-out arena tour that season tbh). So some shows in this 2008 tour got bumped to arenas when the initial venues sold out... but those arenas were far from sold out.

The New Zealand arena was about 1/3 full on this tour, but the fans who showed up still sounded enthusiastic. The show was on a Saturday and some people had been camped outside of the arena since Thursday.

Shane wasn’t on this trip. Eric was busy with Black Gold, so he wasn't there either (Adrian replaced him this season). 

The Australian shows looked similar to the North American tour from earlier that year since PATD actually transported a lot of their set pieces & flowers overseas. This tour had nothing to do with the Honda Civic Tour, though.

Ryan said: “We brought to Australia everything we did on our last US tour, which is something we haven’t been able to do anywhere else in the world. It’s a logistical nightmare. It takes months for all this stuff to get across the world... I’m pretty sure [it] came over on a boat. A big boat. Because it left months before the tour. But it made it on time.”

There had been a contest earlier this summer to find a local support band in each Australian city for this tour. PATD picked the winners from the pool of finalists, but fan votes influenced results as well (I think initial fan suggestions might have even contributed to who was in the running too). Repeat Offender opened in Brisbane, Chain Gang opened in Sydney, The Black & White opened in Melbourne, Amber Calling opened in Adelaide, and The Jones Facility opened in Perth.

The New Zealand opening band was selected by the band’s management, though. A Kiss Goodbye was chosen & said that they’d submitted some of their music for consideration in 2007 (here’s more about AKGB). 

Justin Motley was still the bass tech, Basile Taylor was still Spencer’s drum tech, and Adam O’Toole was still the guitar tech. Panic’s crew was like 3x bigger than their support bands too. David Ellison was Panic’s tour manager & accountant.

the Australian interviews focused a lot around the Mad as Rabbits single, which I thought was refreshing.

there had been a lot of contests earlier this year where winners would be flown to one of the shows on this tour and given VIP treatment plus a lot of swag.

Ryan’s Onceler look peaked in Melbourne.

Spencer said in an interview on the afternoon of the Perth show “We finally got some sleep last night which was good. We got up and saw that movie Pineapple Express, it was great, it was funny.”

All 3 bands shared a hotel while they were in Brisbane, Adelaide, and Auckland. PATD stayed in a separate hotel in the other cities while their 2 support bands stayed in another hotel (ex: PATD stayed at the InterContinental in Sydney while the other bands stayed at Vibe Hotel Sydney).

The PATD guys weren’t sharing as many updates with fans this year (compared to 2006) so here are some posts from other people:

William Beckett posted on his blog: “ANYWAYS, the shows here in Australia have been ACE.  Brisbane was a blast. Been hanging with the Panic boys a bit…  Ryan and Adam were out until 6 am the other night… Debauchery.  After the show tonight in Sydney there is an after party at some swanky hotel bar.  I’ll take pictures of me and my friends in the bathroom to fuel your fan fiction. UPDATE: i am at the sydney after party and things are getting crazy.  ryland, victoria and “RY-RO” say hi!”

Part of Vicky-T’s lj post after the Sydney show: “…Played awesome show. Went out after to a rooftop party on top of Panic's hotel. Was very mellow. Big bro down. Hung out in John's room with Ryan, Ryland, Nate, Butcher and Sisky. Hung out late talking and laughing.”

part of another one of her lj posts the next day: “…Went to Panic's hotel. Forced Ryan to come out with us. Ryan, Gabe, some friends and I went to a place called The Carlton Club. Had one of the best nights of all time. Met some really fantastic people. Had shots and raspberry vodka drinks all night, talked to new people, laughed, lived it up, danced. All of us stayed out until about 5/6am. Had the best time. I am officially in love with Melbourne.”

Part of Vicky-T’s myspace post about New Zealand & how Ryan spent his 22nd birthday: “…that next day I slept in really late since I didn't go to bed until 7am. Woke up and went to the venue… That night we all went out for Ryan Ross's birthday. I hung out with him and Sisky all night. We had such a great time. Ryan might be one of my favorite humans around. I hadn't seen him since the UK, it was awesome to hang out again. Sisky, Ryan and I jumped about a few clubs. Ended up at one ridiculous club that was playing horrible house music. We couldn't believe how bad it was but decided to make the best of it. We had a few drinks., imitated some dancers, danced ourselves and got served Skittles by some woman who came around dressed as a nurse demanding we take our medicine (bizarre!) Eventually we returned to the hotel and hung in Ryan's room listening to Bob Dylan until we had to leave at 4:30am to hop on a plane to Hong Kong…” (their flight for Hong Kong left at 7:30am btw).

Some fans who happened to be at the place with “horrible house music” said that it was only Vicky, “some guy from TAI,” and Ryan. 

PATD had done the Asia leg of their international tour before arriving in Australia, so they returned to the USA after this. They left on August 31st for Los Angeles.
