MY STORIES ARE AS FOLLOWS

RELIGIONVERSE: set in 1950s new york city following an angel named theodore who is very much not supposed to be on earth. other key characters are his wife (cecily) his weird priest situationship (elijah) god (deity) and luci (satan) ALSO I HAVE A GOOGLE DOC CHRONICLING MOST OF THE LORE THAT YOU CAN READ HERE

INDIE: weird loser named atticus stalks his partner from highschool (axel) because thats easier than addressing his deep-seated childhood trauma. other key characters are axels current girlfriend (mitchell) takes place from the time theyre in 7th grade (2012) to more or less present day (2022)

VARMINT: two twins named shad and shishka, following the long-term aftermath of their dad, damien, killing their mom, sam, and damiens subsequent outing as a prolific serial killer. and theyre also furries! ive had these characters since i was literally age 8 they are my oldest ocs and my dearest children. takes place in 2021

HOMETOWN USA: fucked up town where every resident is based on a song by tom lehrer. no real story just a bunch of guys existing. theyre going through world war III. set in a vague anachronistic alternate 1960s

G&S INC.: normal office guys. listen to andrew in drag by the magnetic fields. set in the mid to late 1990s. daniel and andrew are mitchells parents btw. and emmetts there too

RAINFOREST FLOODS: haunted waterpark! ghouls! ghosts! soul crushing life ruining guilt over things that cannot be changed! toxic yaoi! sorry im getting tired of writing these. characters are andy bruce vincent kelsey and jeff. shared with @ratsbypaulzindel. you really got a hold on me by the beatles

SHITROACH: the most annoying people youve ever met in your life (gabby nelson graysong) are in a band that sucks dogshit. and also theres other people (niamh newt winona schmidt)

life update from my side 😁😁😁😁 i moved into the girls dormitory now like recently ish AND OH MY GODDD SO MUCH HAPPENED IT'S INSANE but godbless my roommates...

so basically there's this girl (not one of my roommates) like from another dorm (calling her #2 dorm) right and we're like kind of friends but not really cause idk it's just off with her but i like brushed it off RIGHT but it's okay because most of the time my gut is like wrong so i move on

ok so as i moved in etc etc i noticed i was losing stuff and i thought i was just careless with some stuff right??? but i kept on losing stuff like my lipbalms and other things and it was so creepy so i asked my roommates about it and one of my roommate who's a senior had a doubt on the #2 dorm and tbh i got suspicious too..? so i was like randomly talking to her and i ask her if she has my lipstick that i lent to her (i never even did that because i fucking hate sharing makeup and skin care products) and she was like "yeah i have it back at my room" MOTHERFUCKER??????? GODDD I GOT SOO MAD PISSED LIKE WHAT DO U MEAN U HAVE IT WITH U?????? SO I TOLD HER ILL TAKE IT IN THE EVENING AND SHE WAS LIKE OK!! and i told my roomie about it (the senior) right and she's so perfect i tell u ...

ok so i go to her room to get it and fucking hell i actually saw some of my stuff lying around and then i told her that i never gave it to her right and holy shit u should've actually seen her SHE HAD THE AUDACITY TO DENY IT WTFFF

moving on 🙏🏻🙏🏻 my roomie was with me when i went to take my shit right AND SHE FUCKING MANAGED TO LOCK HER OUT OF HER ROOM ?????? and i finally found the missing stuff it's actually insane

GOD COMPLEX: WIP INTRO

[this is my original work, do not use / repurpose / plagiarise in any form]

GENRE: literary fiction; sometimes surrealism / fabulism.

STAGE: drafting / editing / polishing [each story is at a different point]

RECURRING THINGS: unhinged teenagers doing unhinged things. angry queer narrators. brown people with ambiguous religious beliefs. self inserts, you say? what makes you think that?

SO WHAT IS THIS?

good question! i ask that to myself all the time!!

okay so god complex is a collection of ALL my short stories. essentially every single short story i’ve ever written is a part of this project. and because i’m needlessly complicated, this is where things get confusing:

god complex is NOT my first short story collection [said first collection is unnamed and will have 13 select stories].

god complex also includes stories that may go into potential future collection(s).

god complex contains the other stories, ones that will go nowhere for various reasons [most being that they’re just,,, bad].

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

chaos! very fun narratives with extremely experimental and whacky form, told mostly by angry unhinged women!! my first ever cult story!!! [long overdue tbh]

first off i want to talk about the process. as mentioned, this is a wip and is nowhere near completion [so far i’m still in the drafting stage and out of all the short stories i’ve written so far, only four or so of them fit the vibes that i’m beginning to get from collection #1].

second off, considering they're all short stories that will be very different from each other + will be in different stages and drafts, i’ve decided to continue with introing each story with its separate post [like i did with saltwater, helium throat, etc] and then making update posts whenever i’ve got stuff to talk about [like how the editing or whatever’s going]! let me tell you here that editing is hard and my first drafts go through a Lot Of Fun Things so you can see me breakdown live :)

third, i don't work with a set theme and don't really start a collection knowing how it’s going to go. rather, the more i write for it the more it starts to take shape [which is why naming my first collection is so difficult because nothing seems right for it so far]. god complex is so varied that i wouldn't really say it has a “vibe”, but from what i’m planning to put in collection #1 so far, i’m beginning to understand it a bit more, and so far my only conclusion is that it involves unhinged people doing unhinged things [which is kind of my trademark ig], and also reckoning with your past at the Worst Possible Time. also everyone is queer because of course they are what else did you except.

WHAT HAVE I GOT SO FAR?

this list will be updated as i naturally write + more stories.

SALTWATER: narrated by the ocean, we follow a toxic couple as they reach their breaking point and drive into the ocean.

HELIUM THROAT: a bitter woman visits her hometown years after her sister and father’s connected deaths, to meet her estranged mother after she moves into her childhood house.

IT’S GENE MAGIC AND/OR TURPENTINE: a listless college student is called back home mid semester after her entire family dies from mysterious causes, and is left in an empty house with nothing but noisy neighbours, cigarettes and a shoulder demon to keep her company.

Hello writer I was reading Antares (good stuff by the way!) and I have a question:

Will there be other characters to also shine in the story?

For example: despite what people think of them will you show Cardin and/or his team?

If not I understand but I was just curious.

Either way keep up the good work!

Oh, now that is a tough and intriguing question. I'm afraid the answer is both a simple yes, i like throwing around the spotlight, and also a bit more complex, but it's a bit of an excuse to talk a little bit about my writing process (if you can call it a 'process'), so here I go!

There are plenty of characters that I would love to let shine in this stories, a lot of villains who I feel like could use some expansion on their screentime, some characters who I have a personal fondness for, but mostly I use the supporting cast to fill useful niches in some sense, being able to be relevant to either the plot, themes, or main characters is important for me.

But to answer, there are also characters and ideas in rwby that I simply don't like to write, and I find ways to avoid that. My key example of that is probably relegating all the fluff in vol1 to offscreen land. If you'll notice, there's no bothering with the Initiation, the Ruby vs Weiss fight, the bullying arc, I trust the reader to assume that this happened (which I can do, godbless fanfiction), and I carry on my way to write the stuff that interests me more.

So, let's take your example of Cardin and his team. While I wouldn't call them my favourites, I don't hate them. I think their designs aside from Cardin's fancy armour are on the whole a bit dull, and they're definitely very stereotypical. They had a cool fight scene with Pyrrha, I'll give them that. I don't really see myself having much that I can really do with them, I'm not sure how to stretch their limited character in a way that suits the AU.

Could I find a purpose for Russel, Dove, and the other one- Sky? Probably not, beyond an offhand mention of if they survived Beacon or not. Possibly Cardin, who has the most character meat, could be slightly more interesting if we meet up with him much later and he's gone and done something with himself, but I already have the villain role of Sadistic Bully filled overall by a few characters but mostly Cinder, so beyond maybe a visit to Vale and 'wow, Cardin, you're actually helping?', I'm not sure he quite fits in Antares as seamlessly as other characters might. Vale and its characters are a lot less elastic than the other kingdoms, that's the sad part of being the Doomed Hometown of a story's prologue.

So, the main focus is on the hero kids and the villains, and if I do this right the rather large supporting cast will hopefully have moments to shine, but I can't promise everyone's favourites will be there. I'm trying to make sure that not much is wasted while all the puzzle pieces fit, trim what I can where I can.

Sorry that this answer was more of an authorial shrug than anything concrete, but who knows, perhaps the plot gremlins will cook something up now that my attention's been drawn to it. Thank you for the ask, nonetheless, it's actually very fun to discuss this stuff, even if 'discussion' is not quite the term. Long meandering ramble is more accurate. Thanks kindly!!
