Apparently it's National Puppy Day today!

In the past I've posted about many of Barbie's animal companions and especially the controversial pooping Tanner as seen in the Barbie movie, but in honour of Puppy Day here are a few of Barbie's other dog pals over the years.

A dog not too dissimilar to Tanner features in Barbie: Newborn Pups along with three puppies. It is worth noting here that it is pretty irresponsible of Barbie to not have spayed her dog as she is contributing to pet overpopulation. Perhaps the dog was a rescue and already pregnant.

Going back much further into the history of Barbie, one of my previous posts showed her with Beauty, but there have been many other dogs as well, like Snowball and Prince.

And of course, Barbie - or the Roberts family more generally - have not been the only dog owners. As a part of the second Happy Family release (i.e. the one with Nikki as an infant and MIdge pregnant a second time), the Sherwood-Hadley pet dog is featured.

And don't worry, if you have any puppies in need of vet care, Barbie has you covered.

National Puppy Day was this past Saturday, and I think now is a good time to share something I've been meaning to tell you: my family and I got a puppy last month!

Meet Maisy! She is a mixed breed and a rescue puppy from Texas. We've been figuring out what kind of specific breeds she has, but her paperwork and a DNA kit Mom ordered both determined her as at least being part beagle and part basset hound. She is such a goober—so much so that she will move whenever we try to take a picture of her doing something photo-worthy—and an absolute cutie. Although it had been over a couple of years since we last had a dog, it certainly has also been a little over a decade since we adopted a puppy, so my family and I have been quite busy with taking care of her and getting back into the swing of things. Still, I'm looking forward to making all kinds of memories with her. 💖
