“One of the most poetic facts I know about the universe is that essentially every atom in your body was once inside a star that exploded. Moreover, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than did those in your right. We are all, literally, star children, and our bodies made of stardust.”
Lawrence Krauss

The tranquility of nature dispels the worries, the chirpy trills of the crested tit make the mind light as air
The cold penetrates the skin and transforms into swirling heat, stronger
Turn the perspective upside down and let it skitter up the tree trunk like the squirrel, respectfully; spruce, what can you teach me?

Philadelphia Weirdos, this event is for you.
On July 14th, we're gonna go into the Pine Barrens and enjoy the hell outta some moths.
This is the 3rd year we've run this event, all to support science education nonprofit Skype a Scientist.
We'll gather at dusk and take a walk around the pond, We'll enjoy some of the crepuscular critters, hopefully see some bats and carnivorous plants, and then set up for a night of bug appreciation! What we'll see on these nights is unpredictable, but in past evenings, we've seen snakes, slugs, wolf spiders, bats, longhorn beetles, many many moths, and more!
Bring some beverages, a chair, a head lamp and any photo equipment you'd like! We'll have some head lamps you can borrow, but won't have enough for everyone.
Get tickets here!

Flies are such an under appreciated group of creatures. I love the bluish grey colors on this one.
