My number one piece of advice for anyone getting into any sort of collecting is to find an active, old-web type forum board dedicated to it. You aren’t going to get any deals (because people know what their stuff is worth) but everything you buy there is going to be priced super fairly and any flaws are going to be disclosed (because people know what their stuff is worth). It’s still worth checking mainstream reselling sites but the chances of you snagging something in good condition way under market price are crazy low with how easy the internet has made it to price things now.

It's been a while since my last aside so I felt like sharing what I've been working on in my free time! I promise I'm not lazy, I'm just busy and also really like starting new projects halfway through working on 8 other projects for some reason haha

Speaking of starting something new when I haven't finished something I started previously, Minh and I were planning on making a collab Shulkelia one shot for Valentine's Day! Obviously that didn't pan out haha but it's still being worked on and it's extremely cute and fun :) Hopefully it will be ready to post sooner than later! And I also will hopefully be able to work on Constellations soon as well!! (Seriously I feel. SO. bad about my hiatus, especially since I know how many interesting and fun rough-draft ideas we brainstormed up for it that are just waiting to be finalized and shared with the world!!)

Another thing I wanted to do for Valentine's Day but extremely missed the boat on was mass dumping the few good NSFW Shulkelia pieces on here (with a planned warning ahead of time as well as copious tagging and hiding under readmores, of course!), including a full translation of a doujin! However, it being a nearly 20-page comic with dialogue and onomatopoeia all over the place meant I couldn't go the normal route of putting the translation below the art, it would just be way too messy and confusing. So, I decided to open up Photopea and replace the Japanese text with my translation! I felt bad about editing someone else's work (still do haha) but there was just no other way to do it, there is. SO so much onomatopoeia in there that it would be a nightmare to do it any other way. But that fact also contributed to why I still have yet to finish the translation: I got wayyy too ambitious in my typical perfectionist way, and decided to use the clone tool to edit out the hiragana and katakana handwriting for the onomatopoeia and place English text in their places, rather than just put it in small, parenthetical text next to the original writing like manga translations typically do. And oh my GOD I should never have done that there are literal HUNDREDS of characters I had to painstakingly edit out and I'm STILL not even done yet no no no... But I'm so close to finishing it!! I have only a couple pages left and then it's good to go!! Expect to see it along with the other NSFW art of them (again, with multiple warnings far ahead of time plus careful tagging to make sure you won't see it if you don't want to!!) in the near future!

Not XC related at all, but my most recent project has been making an Ao3 site skin (and, in the process, learning how CSS works) and it's been really satisfying! It's nothing super fancy, but it does create a noticeable improvement from the default (in terms of clarity/organization/readability, no offense intended at all of course!) and I'm very pleased with it so far! Once it's done I'll share it here, complete with notes on what each piece is doing to the layout and how, so anyone can use it and tweak it how they like! :)

I unfortunately haven't made any more progress on Xenoblade 3, sorry to say. And actually... it's partially because I'm worried that I'll end up liking Noah so much that I'll get even more distracted from writing Shulkelia or Xenoblade 1 in general haha... Like I'd never give up on that of course, 1 and its characters will always have a special place in my heart! But I can see myself getting swept away by The New Guy TM, much like I do with new project ideas popping into my head...

My FFXIV x Xenoblade 1 crossover has made some good progress! I've now finalized the outfits for over half of the characters I plan on making, after hours and hours of trying different chestpieces and dyes to get them as close to their canon outfits as possible! In fact, maybe I could share a little more about what exactly I'm doing, to show how I was having too much fun and made it a bigger thing than it had to be, to help explain why it's taking so long haha:

So originally the idea started out as "what FFXIV job best suits the playstyle/archetype of each of XC's playable characters?" (and I have a whole host of notes in my head about why that is from both a gameplay/kit perspective and a fandom-y General Vibes/Aesthetic perspective, which I will for sure post along with the pics). And if I could draw well, it probably would've ended there: I'd just have made some art of the cast posing with their weapons and call it done. But since 1) I can't draw the things I see in my head like I want to and 2) I like to over-complicate things for fun, I decided to pile onto this idea by not only adding more characters of (XC SPOILERS!!!) Alvis, Egil, Meyneth, and Zanza to the roster (including in terms of what jobs suit them each and why!) but also recreate everyone in-game! (I really wanted to do Dickson as well, but unfortunately there are absolutely zero mustache options that look like his :< There's only one that's even remotely similar, but the face is completely wrong for him (what facial features look like are tied to faces, for some reason; the Mustache Facial Feature creates a different type of mustache depending on which Face option you pick) so there's no way to make a character that looks sufficiently like him, at least to my standards. Maybe one day they'll add one that fits...? If they do I will for sure make Gunbreaker Dickson a reality!) This resulted in me needing to not only sit down for hours in XIV's character creator ensuring every detail was as close a match to their designs as possible, but also opening up 8000 tabs in Eorzea Collection and looking through every. single. last. glamour option. in the game for each. and. every. slot. for each. and. every. character. to find out how closely I could translate their weird (affectionate) XC clothes into weird (affectionate) FF clothes. Combine that with my stubbornness in wanting them to look as accurate as possible resulting in making two different outfits per character based on whether or not they can equip/glam the gear as the job that suits them most, (plus the fact that I'm doing [again, SPOILERS!!!] Mecha-Fiora in addition to Homs!Fiora as well as having three [three!] different job options for Shulk based on varying levels of both XC and XIV spoilers to avoid ruining twists for either game), and the fact that I went a step further and decided to also make alternate-race versions for the main party (that sounds... bad lmao. fantasy races, like elves and catboys and such) like half if-these-characters-were-instead-created-by-the-XIV-designers-in-an-alternate-timeline-what-race-would-they-probably-make-them-judged-by-me-like-their-jobs-on-both-lore-and-Vibes-TM and half if-the-XC-gang-existed-irl-and-played-XIV-what-would-they-make-their-characters-look-like, and reminder that each of these versions have two different outfit variants and each outfit needs a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 7 separate pieces each that also need to be dyed and have multiple different options to try on for every character and... it took a teeeeny bit longer than I was expecting to get through haha. But that's not at all to say it's a chore to get through; it's certainly been a process yes, but I've been having a lot of fun the whole time :) Finally getting every element just right, from all the details in character creation down to their eyebrow shape to finding the best option for every armor slot dyed just the right color, seeing it all come together and actually look quite a bit like the character is so satisfying! I can't wait to share them all, I hope someone out there enjoys the results as much as I did creating them! :) Oh, and I also will be making a glam list for each outfit as well as sharing my notes on what I picked in the character creator, so if you want to do an in-game/WoL cosplay as someone or maybe even make an alt named after one based on my recreation of them then it'll be easy for you! :)

Even though I haven't been keeping up with my fanfic writing as much lately, I do still get little ideas for things quite often and am typing them down in my doc for later! I have a gigantic backlog of things I could write: fanfics long and short, Shulkelia fics and Genfics, non-fanfic concepts both XC-related and not... rest assured, even if I'm not posting on here or Ao3 my mind is always buzzing with something and I'm always wanting to create more!

You watch his silhouette grow smaller by the second then shrug to yourself. His loss

He doesn’t say anything when you come back to the dorms carrying the junk you get from your scavenging but you can tell he’s somewhat curious of what you found

One time you come back bringing a wholeass couch and it’s somehow in mint condition - he’s more bewildered by the people who’s throwing the trash than you at this point

It’s definitely not for him but as long as you don’t bother him and that you’re happy, he doesn’t say a word about your habits.

He tries not to be too judgemental since there’s all kinds of people in NRC and he feels like he’s definitely seen weirder things by now

He’s a little confused but he got the spirit! Spirit of what exactly? Spirit of supporting you and respecting his upperclassmen obviously

He’s somewhat stiff around you since you’re older and he doesn’t want to offend you in any way - so you make an effort to make him more comfortable around you

You’d tell him about what you find in your little adventures and he seems to be amused by the kind of stuff people easily throw away here

“That’s part of the magic! Plus, once you get used to the stench and filth, it’s really not all that bad.”

He believes and trusts your words but he still won’t try it for himself. He’ll leave it all up to you and your expertise

Sooner or later, with enough storytelling, a smile on his face becomes a common look for him whenever you’re around

You’d even bring him back stuff you found that you think he’d like (after thoroughly washing them and bringing them back to the best condition of course)

Whenever you see him use the stuff you give to him, whether it’s a decoration in his room or it’s on his person, you feel a little proud of the bond you’ve nurtured with him.

He understands the need to stoop to that level but when you tell him you don’t even need the stuff you collect and just do it for fun, he’s silent for a bit

Still won’t judge you for it! Plus sometimes he gets the good stuff from your scavenges so he’s not complaining

Once he gets curious enough, he’ll tag along on the diving… and it’s not as bad as he thought it would be

It’s stinky and dirty but sometimes he really hits the jackpot in some of the dumpsters. It’s like a thrift store but even cheaper somehow

You unironically become dumpster-diving buddies and the two of you would review the stuff you got after each session to decide if you’re going to keep some or not

You guys can probably get a lot of clout if you start a YouTube channel

You two grow a lot closer after enlightening him of the joys of dumpster-diving, which you aren’t too surprised about since it’s a common bonding experience for you raccoon beastpeople

But as you look back on your memories of junk-collecting and look forward towards Ruggie's laugh, you can’t help but laugh with him.

The soft chime of the convenience store bell echoed as you stepped inside, the cool air-conditioned breeze a welcome relief from the summer heat. The small shop was a familiar place, the kind of spot where you’d swing by for a quick snack or a late-night craving. But today, you were on a mission. You had a specific craving, one that had been gnawing at you all day: mint chocolate chip ice cream.

You made your way down the narrow aisles, the faint hum of the refrigerators growing louder as you approached the freezer section. You could already taste the cool, creamy mint and the satisfying crunch of chocolate pieces. Just thinking about it made you smile.

As you turned the corner, your eyes locked onto the freezer ahead. But you weren’t the only one with mint chocolate chip on your mind. There, standing in front of the freezer, was a tall, blond-haired boy who seemed to be contemplating the contents with the same focused intensity as you. His eyes scanned the shelves, a look of determination on his face.

You quickened your pace slightly, hoping to reach the freezer before he did. But just as you arrived, he reached out at the same moment as you, both of your hands grasping the same small cup of mint chocolate chip ice cream.

"Oh," you both said in unison, quickly retracting your hands as if the container had suddenly become scalding hot.

He turned to you, a sheepish grin spreading across his face. "Sorry, I didn’t mean to—"

"No, it’s okay," you interjected, trying to suppress the nervous laughter bubbling up inside you. "You can have it. I’ll just—"

But he shook his head, his golden hair catching the light as he did. "No way. You got here first, it’s yours."

You hesitated, not wanting to seem greedy but also really not wanting to walk away empty-handed. "We could… split it?" you suggested, the words slipping out before you had a chance to fully think them through.

The boy blinked, clearly surprised by your suggestion. But then, to your relief, his smile widened, and he nodded. "That sounds fair."

You both reached for the cup again, this time with a shared purpose. His hand brushed against yours as he picked it up, sending a slight jolt of warmth through you that contrasted with the chill of the freezer. You couldn’t help but glance up at him, noticing how the soft blond strands framed his face, and how his eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled.

"Let’s find a place to sit," he said, gesturing toward a small seating area near the front of the store.

As you walked over, you couldn’t help but feel a bit self-conscious. It wasn’t every day that you shared ice cream with a stranger, let alone one who looked like he had just stepped out of a magazine. But there was something about his easygoing demeanor that put you at ease, making the whole situation feel oddly natural.

He sat down across from you, pulling a plastic spoon from the dispenser on the table. "I’m Sunoo, by the way," he said as he opened the ice cream cup and offered you the first scoop.

You took the spoon from him, feeling a little flutter in your chest as you dipped it into the creamy mint ice cream. "I’m Y/N," you replied, handing the spoon back to him after taking a bite. The cool, minty flavor melted on your tongue, just as satisfying as you’d imagined.

"Nice to meet you, Y/N," Sunoo said with a smile, taking his own bite. "So, what brings you here? Besides our mutual love of mint chocolate chip, that is."

You chuckled, feeling the tension in your shoulders ease as the conversation flowed. "I had a craving I just couldn’t ignore," you admitted, glancing at the now half-eaten cup. "What about you?"

"Same, actually. I’ve had a pretty long day, and I just needed something to lift my spirits," Sunoo replied, leaning back in his chair. "Mint chocolate chip is my go-to for that."

You nodded in agreement. "It’s definitely the best flavor. There’s something about it that’s just… comforting, you know?"

"Exactly," Sunoo said, his eyes lighting up with enthusiasm. "It’s like a little bit of happiness in a cup."

You found yourself smiling at how animated he became when talking about something as simple as ice cream. There was a warmth to him, a genuine kindness that made you feel comfortable, even though you had just met. As you continued to share the ice cream, the conversation shifted to other topics—your favorite places in the city, the best food spots, and even a few shared stories from your childhood.

"So, what do you do when you’re not raiding convenience stores for ice cream?" Sunoo asked with a teasing grin.

"I’m a student," you replied. "Trying to juggle classes and a part-time job. What about you?"

"I’m a trainee," Sunoo said casually, but there was a hint of pride in his voice. "I’m working towards becoming an idol."

Your eyes widened in surprise. "Really? That’s amazing! How’s that going?"

"It’s a lot of hard work, but I love it," Sunoo said, his tone earnest. "There are tough days, but moments like this make it all worth it."

You felt a flicker of admiration for him. Pursuing a dream like that took a lot of dedication, and the fact that he could still be so cheerful and kind despite the challenges was impressive.

Before you knew it, the ice cream cup was empty, and you had lost track of time. The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm glow through the convenience store’s windows. You both sat in comfortable silence for a moment, the lingering sweetness of the ice cream still on your tongues.

"Well, I guess that’s the end of our little treat," Sunoo said, glancing at the empty cup with a smile. "But I had a really great time."

"Me too," you agreed, feeling a little pang of disappointment that the moment was coming to an end. "It was nice to meet someone who appreciates mint chocolate chip as much as I do."

Sunoo chuckled, standing up and offering you his hand to help you up. "We’re a rare breed," he joked. "But hey, if you’re ever craving it again, maybe we can share another cup?"

You looked at him, seeing the genuine hope in his eyes, and felt your heart skip a beat. "I’d like that," you said, taking his hand.

As you both walked out of the convenience store, the warm evening air wrapped around you like a comforting blanket. The city buzzed with life, but for a moment, it felt like it was just the two of you in your own little world.

You exchanged numbers before parting ways, promising to stay in touch. As you watched Sunoo walk away, you couldn’t help but smile. What had started as a simple craving for ice cream had turned into something much more—a chance encounter that you couldn’t wait to see where it would lead.

• First of all, no one knew at first that Deku had a sister except Bakugou, obviously

• They all found out after the Sports festival. Afterwards, when the students were the only ones really left at the school, they saw Deku meeting with a mint haired girl off to the side. She handed a small pastry that he gobbled right up.

• They asked Bakugo as he passed to leave. He just said "That's Deku's sister, Y/N." Like it was obvious. She passed a pastry to Bakugo as he passed and he took it with no complaint. He nibbled on it as he left.

• What really blew their minds was that Deku took off his arm braces and was completely healed. Before anyone could ask, they began to walk away. 

• It wasn't until the next school day that they could ask any questions.

Y/N Midoriya: Twin sister to Izuku

Hair: Mint shade & Wavy

Eyes: Hazel/ Bright Amber

Quirk: Can heal Many levels of injury with her cooking.

• Prefers baking but can cook great (Maybe even better than Bakugou.)

• Can factor in different levels of healing into whatever it is she cooks, even have no healing built in.

• Was thought to be quirkless until she wanted to make some strawberry brownies for Izuku after he had a run in with some bullies again. He was healed within moments of the first bite.

• Doesn't go to hero school but is working towards a medical degree.

• You started very young referring to your quirk as a gift. Most peoples quirks were either just inconvenient things or were just there or ones that could be considered heroic quirks. There were fewer people that had healing type quirks so you thought of it more of a gift since you could help people in a calmer, safer way that still held up to the Hero's.

After they meet you:

• After your presence is made known, Aizawa did have to have a meeting with your mother because you couldn't always be healing Izuku and no matter how much you didn't like it, you understood. Especially after you met with Recovery Girl.

• The class LOVED you and it wasn't too long before you were an honorary member of Class 1A. You were similar in a way to Izuku. You were adorable and sweet and fiery to a fault. You were a bit more confident then Izuku as well as being less over the top.

• What surprised everyone the most was that Bakugo was more open to you. He was still his normal standoffish self but he didn't go off on you like he did Deku 

• The class also became very protective of you. If there was any threat that they found out near you, they had either Izuku or Bakugou to call you to make sure you're okay.

• And heaven help the person that did hurt you. If your brother didn't get to them first, they had no chance of escaping the rest.

• Izuku always made sure you got to your own school before heading to UA. That became harder when he had to move into the dorms but you were given permission to visit by Aizawa (he hoped it would help keep Izuku in check.)

• Speaking of Aizawa became fond of you too, not that he was going to mention it. He would do anything for you that he would do for his class.

• All Might even was fond of you. After his retirement, you would make him batches of different things that helped with his condition and the pain from it.

• Like we said, you were loved by the class.

• Sato and you would bake together. He would teach you new recipes and vice versa.

• Uraraka and you were fast friends. You were also very appreciative of her for being friends with Izuku. After you found out what over use of her quirk does to you, you made some candies to help with nausea.

• Kaminari, Sero, Todoroki, and Sero knew they could come to you for anything. Like help with homework and studying , if they need someone to talk to, anything really.

• All the guys made sure that Mineta didn't bother you. It took everyone to hold Izuku AND Bakugou back when he tried something the first time. 

• You were friends with everyone in the class but the ones you became closest with outside the two boys was Kami and Ojiro. The three of you have their weird but perfect balance between you. Kami was drawn to you at first because he's Kaminari, come on. He's a flirt but when you showed genuine interest in him and genuine concern when he short-circuited, he let him be himself with you. 

• And Ojiro, how could you not like him. He's so sweet and you two just clicked. Like two peas in a pod. To be honest, the overall exciting energy the class gives off is overwhelming to you. Ojiro's calm disposition is welcoming to you. You both work hard for your goals and support each other through hard times. (Not to mention the small crush you have on the man that Izuku definitely doesn't tease you about incessantly.)
