Here we are! What a journey, and while perhaps this season wasn't at MoM level it was REALLY good, with great new villains/allies, great little throwbacks and an awesome story! 🤩

This type of plot twist reminds me of our early seasons. Zane sacrificing himself, Garmadon giving up his life, those moments that made me so curious and excited about the following. I have no idea what will be the outcome for this, but I can't wait to find out

With that out of the way, AMAZING SEASON 😍😍😍 I think this finale beats MoM's, just because it was really unexpected and opens up a SEA of possibilities... yeah too soon 😭

I'm still shaken, my world, they did something HUGE and I do hope it will be a good shake to the entire Ninjago plotline. Nya is "gone", we still don't know about the person behind all that vengestone, we haven't heard from Garmy in forever, there are so many good ideas out there now that they've set the ground for more 🤩🤩

Voice acting was *chef's kiss*, not only for the villain which I already stressed enough about, I think Kelly reached a new level of emotional intimacy with Nya and I'm so happy she showed her skills 💜💜

Animation is TOP, there's little to no point into saying anything else since they showed it very clearly in the latest season ☺

This was the emotional, witty and engaging writing I was looking for! Good jokes, meaningful dialogues, emotional scenes, everything was really good and I'm gonna rewatch some scenes especially for that 😍

It turned out having Maya and Ray back was kind of a distraction to fool us all 😅😅 Well played actually, and it was very cool seeing them again in any case 🙋‍♀️

And now? Jay lost his love, I have no idea if the show will work on him getting over her or hold onto her memory (thinking of Jay probably the latter, although I do think that handling the first would be an interesting idea). KAI LOST HIS SISTER 😢😢😢 I have no doubt he's gonna beat himself up for it, like he did when Zane was gone too. Everyone lost their friend, she had become such a vital part of the team and now she is not here anymore it will be hard...

They are back with the four plus one green savior formation, I sincerely don't know how I feel about that 😅 I'm always happy when we get the OGs, but this is about going on without Nya... maybe Skylor will be called? Or Pixal will be more active? That could be interesting to see, who knows 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Gosh, how are they going to handle the next season? It will have to give A LOT of answers to the millions questions we all have right now. Man I can't wait, it could be anything!!! This is a Ninjago revolution!

But if I have to mention a little complain, and I'm a fangirl so I absolutely have to, Kai didn't show much of a reaction to Nya's "departure". Okay, she didn't straight up die like in Skybound (I'm gonna fear all BOUND seasons from now on 😱), but he's her brother and he loves deeply his family. Either we're gonna see him go all out next season, or the writers really did only focus on Jaya. A tiny bit salty... but you got me a fantastic finale so I'll move on 👍

Outstanding, I'm blown away. Whenever I think I'm used to this show they do stuff like this. I'm so glad and sad you guys 😅 But mostly happy that despite everything I still get very strong emotions while I watch this long time favorite show of mine 💜💜💜

8. August - {WOW APPLE MUSIC WAY TO CATCH UP WITH THE FUCKING WORLD I HATE YOU. Okay we’re back!!!} Salt air?! I already love it. And rusty doors. Yes. Okay my birthday feels safe. “August sipped away like a bottle of wine cause you were never mine”🥺. Wait this is like happy retrospective WHEN WE WERE STILL CHANGING FOR THE BETTER, FOR ME IT WAS ENOUGH TO LIVE FOR THE HOPE OF IT ALL. “I can see us lost in a memory, august slipped away in a memory, cause it was never mine” this is so freaking ethereal and pretty. And she is repeating the hope of it all?! Inject this directly into my veins ughhhhh

9. This is me trying - “I didn’t know if you’d care if I came back” I love how she has all these images of bumbling and fumbling and puts it next to her saying she is trying, working on that communication. “I got wasted like all my potential. My words shoot to kill when I’m bad” Wait I have so many amazing lyrics I can’t even keep up with it what is happening. “It’s hard to be anywhere these days when all I want is you”

10. Illicit affairs - curious about this title???? What’s going to happen. Oooo a sneaky love thing going on. “Clandestine meetings and longing stares”. LITTLE DEATH TAYLOR SWIFT I SEE YOU LE PETIT MORT. “Dwindling mercurial high”?! Damn girl!!! Ooo okay no more orgasm things, just about lies now. Death to lies. “You showed me colors I can’t see with anyone else” “you taught me secret language I can’t speak with anyone else” Wait is it over?! The sudden endings WOW.

11. Invisible string - I keep hearing all these colors and all I can thing is RED. “Invisible string tying you to me”. I just LOVE all these pretty floating songs! “She said I look like an American singer” Omg I wonder if this is about her meeting joe IT IS IT IS THE DIVE BAR IS BACK. “One single thread of gold” ugh I love the running themes this woman uses! “Now I send their babies presents 😍” “hell was the journey but it brought me heaven” I LOVE THIS SONG OMG

12. Mad woman - I’ve been so curious about this OKAY!!!!!! TAYLOR SWIFT SAID FUCK IT HAPPENED. “Every time you call me crazy I get more crazy what about that?” “No one likes a mad woman YOU MADE HER LIKE THAT” OH MY GODDDDDD YES TELL THEM TAYLOR. “Doing your dirtiest work for you” holy SHIT Taylor this is scooter’s call out song and I LOVE THIS I LOVE THIS. “I’m taking my time because you took everything from me, watching you climb over people like me” I CANT KEEP UP TAYLOR THIS IS SO SHARP OMG and the dRUMS MY SOUL LEFT MY BODY

13. Epiphany - WHEW okay lots I’m still processing so epiphany whatcha got?! “Something med school did not cover, someone’s daughter, someone’s mother.” Omg aNOTHER HOSPITAL SONG SERIOUSLY Taylor baby no :((((( “you dream of some epiphany, just one single glimpse of relief to make some sense of what you’ve seen” I wonder if this is for nurses and caregivers?

14. Betty - oh HELLO harmonica!!!!! Is this one of the love triangle songs? TAYLOR SAID FUCK AGAIN TWICE IN ONE ALBUM! I WAS NOT EMOTIONALLY PREPARED FOR THIS!!!!! I like the melody in this though, it’s so pretty and it reminds me of her older stuff! WAIT FUCK IS IN THE CHORUS SO SHE’S SAYING IT A LOT AHHHHH. “A figment of my worst intentions” omgggggg what a great line?! Okay wait this has SO MANY CARDIGAN PARALLELS AT THE END THIS IS ONE OF THE THREE. SO IS CARDIGAN what is #3?!

15. Peace - interesting starting song hmmmmmmmm. Sounds more bluesy! “Our coming of age is come and gone.” So she can’t give peace- “I would die for you in secret, the devil’s in the details but you got a friend in me.” This song is really hitting a lot tbh. “It’s like I’m wasting your honor.” Taylor this is sad 🥺 “the rain is always gonna come if you’re standing with me”

16. Hoax - hOW are we already at the end?! I like the super gentle piano in the back. “Your faithless love’s the only hoax I believe in. Don’t want no other shade of blue but you.” She’s so vulnerable and this is really hard to listen to. Love was just as hard as when they pulled you apart?

Sorry not sorry

First of all, and I don’t know where to start so this will be less of a reaction and more just rambling, and literally no one asked for this but I’m writing it anyways.

Ateez DO NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! Literally every song on this album is a whole bop. I’ve been listening to it on repeat since it was released and even after the first initial,  “I-love-every-song-because-I’ve-been-looking-forward-to-this-for-so-long” in love feelings had settled, I genuinely love every song. JUST OMG I CAN’T STRESS THIS ENOUGH BUT THIS GROUP IS CELEBRATING THEIR. FIRST. YEAR NOW IN OCTOBER!!!!! The production value is so high it’s insane!! and this goes back to the previous three mini albums, like maybe it’s just me but I can literally put every song back to back and listen through their entire discography without feeling just an “eeh, maybe I should skip this one” and that’s crazy.

So, a bit more about the individual songs,

1, End of The Beginning: OMG this will resonate within you, wherever you live on this planet and don’t try to convince me of anything else. Couldn’t have started out better, got chills the first time I heard it. From the chanting to the way it sounds like they’re ready to go to war, to the transition into wonderland.

2, WONDERLAND: This is the title track if I’ve ever heard one, strong beginning, I’m hella biased but I’m really happy that Joong is the one who sets the bar for the whole song. Not even kidding, I UNIRONICALLY DAB THROUGHOUT THIS ENTIRE SONG. it’s just one of those songs that you can’t listen to without having the need to move whether you just wiggle your shoulders a little or walk to the beat of the song or move your entire body. Yunho and Seonghwa are really shining through with both strong vocals and overall presence through the entire song.

3, Dazzling Light: OK OK OK, my favorite on the album. The drum beat, their voices, the lyrics, the way that Joong and Mings is rapping after around 2:20 to 2:40 and then the way the song just drops afterwards, and Jonho’s long fucking “Oh, tell me who you, who am I” and I’m just gone, I’m acsending into the heavens, just… ah, there’s something about this song that just makes me want to walk down barefoot on a beach with the wind howling in my ears

4, MIST: Not gonna lie and (god, I’m gonna get so much hate for this, but it’s only MY opinion, ok) the beginning, instrumentally low-key resembled Jimin’s (BTS, obv) ‘Serendipity’. I think that they use the same kind of melancholy background noises (I don’t know anything about music or music production but you know what I mean right? The light, drip-drop-y kinda sound. Whatever, overall, the song is a slow bop. Vocal line is just AMAZING. The harmonization, the way their voices blend, and let me just tell you; This is Wooyoung’s song, boi did such a good job and I’m so happy he got the recognition he deserves (next up is Yeosang, am I right?? *sad yeehaw*) Joong made me cry, like just seriously listen to his rapping with lyrics and try not to feel emotion because it’s god damn impossible. This is the song I’m gonna be listening to at 2am when I can’t sleep.

5, Precious (Overture) Bruuuuuh, freaking chills. The beat, the way the song seems to change like every 15th second, their voices, Mings rapping, the fucking drop with the windpipes? The “My precious, precious” the slight but noticeable change in the lyrics to ‘treasure’ the deep humming at the end. Phenomenal.

6, WIN: The way this song goes from a sort of tropical to a heavy bass drop with the biggest “fuck you” is a whole mood.  I dunno, has a kinda pirate-y vibe. The way the beat keeps on changing really gives it a funny, fresh feeling and the “We don’t know what’s next but we know who’s next” is just the line of the century. A nice bop that I totally like, but it’s not my favorite on the album.

7, If Without You: Such a sweet song, honestly. I just sway to the beat to it. A song to sing along with and I really think that they had a lot of fun making it since there is a lot of background harmonization and added sounds here and there, especially in the end with all the hilarious ‘whoas’, ‘aahs’ and ‘ooohs’ A funky song with nice vocals.

8, THANK U: BOI I CRIED!! D: Honestly Mingi is shining through so much with this song and it just felt so good to hear that because even though Joong is my bias, he has gotten a lot of lines in previous songs and I’m just happy to see that the line distribution between the two of them has evened out a bit better. The way it sorta turns into a sentimental rock ballad as soon as the chorus hits though? My 2009 emo heart is singing. I think it sorta has ‘Promise’ (Ep 2. Zero To One) sorta like “you and I” vibes and I’m here for it, I really like that, a powerful, soft bop, very nice.

9, Sunrise: This is the most uplifting song of the century, but just the fact that’s about their trainee days and that Joong was crying when he wrote it makes me all emotional :’( Everything is on point, the rapping, the vocal line, the instrumentals, the way that the pre-chorus has this sorta “through-a-phone-call” add-on that makes it seem like the members has called you and just wants you to keep pushing forward. There is this constant, boom-clap-boom-clap beat throughout the whole song that just makes me sure that it’s gonna be amazing live with thousands upon thousands of Atiny’s clapping their hands. Amazing rapping, amazing vocals. The bridge is just fantastic. A beautiful song, A+. Outstanding job with the lyrics, Joong. 

10, WITH U: A Ballad for Atiny, I’m not crying, you are. Has this sort of crinkling add on in the background that reminds me of rain. The piano instrumentals and the boom-clap-boom-clap that is a familiar friend by now makes their appearance. The line distribution is sorta good, the way that San breathes in before starting off, what I think is, the pre-chorus is just wonderful and then the way that Yeosang ties the knot at the end of the song is just A+. I honestly love this song, it’s just one of those ones you listen to when you feel kinda down and you need a little something to cheer you on. 

11, Beginning of The End: OMG, first off, the jungle atmosphere with noises of fire crackling and the music just so flawlessly rolling in like waves is amazing. It’s unexpected, with instruments I never expected (like what is that sound at around 0:34, an electric guitar?) The “open your eyes” It really feels like The End of an Era (™) and wow what a song to finish of the adventure on. Feels like a track from an epic movie, the end credits are rolling and the ship sails off in the distance. Perfect.

All and all, I think that the boys did a wonderful job with this album and I will continue listening to it until my ears falls off. Please share if you have any different thoughts than I had, much love ♥

I'll be delving into the many ways to design your life, from interior design for the soul to increasing your connection to source + yourself!  With our busy lives it's sometimes hard to find the time to take stock + check in on our self. Well winter in Australia is truely here!  Especially for those like myself living in one of the colder cities, Melbourne!

For many, winter can be a gloomy time of year. You get stuck indoors a little more, you walk outside and start hugging youerself like a crazy person in a straight jacket, just to stay warm. All the annoying things that you totally would'nt have to do if the sun would just come out!

They say the grass is always greener and if your spending all your days dreaming of a tropical island where the sun is beaming, then today I want you to realise that the grass is pretty green right here, smack bang in the middle of winter! 

It's taken me basically my whole life to realise that as much as I love a hot sunny day, going to the beach and crusing with my roof off, I am 100% a winter girl! After spending 5 years in Perth WA, (A very hot hot city, similar to LA) I came to realise how stressful I felt from constant constant hot weather. At first I was like, "yes this is amazing, enjoy your rainy days all you other suckers in the cold states, I'm living it up in my endless summer!" But as the the years passed, I slowly noticed that there really was no relief and having the sun glaring everyday was kind of boring, predicatble and actually just too much of a good thing! I came to realise how much I was missing the seasons and all the juicy stuff that only a season can provide.

So let me to tell you the 5 things that I do at home that make me fall in love with winter.  Hopefully I can inspire you to go indulge in one of these perfect winter activites and get you appreciating that there is a time for everything + the variety + balance proper seasons bring to our life is so soothing to the soul. It's all about embracing life, so lets stop the winter winge and embrace the moment!

 Sititing by the fire

OMG (WARNING I say this a lot) OMG, OMG I love love sitting by the fire. There is something so soothing about cosying up under a big chunky knit and staring into the flames. Whether it's with your BFF's or your honey, it's really just such a great way to get connected with yourself and those around you. I guess it comes back to the idea of sitting around the camp fire. It brings about a sense of contemplation, almost hypnotising and so so soothing to the soul. I feel like it's a big warm hug from mother nature and she's saying "It's all good girlfriend, I got you, just keep sipping on that red wine, everything is all good!"  :)

 You don't have a fire at home? Thats totally fine because my next fav thing to do is go to a gorgeous restaurant and hot chocolate by the fire! So if your feeling these hot firey vibes and your bummed because you don't have a fire, get googling stat and go book in for a cosy lunch somewhere.

Winter Decor

Some of the ways to embrace winter around the home can also be through your decore! Have you seen the gorgeous chunky knit's available these days? They really are to die for and would make the most lush addition to your bedroom or living room + are a must have to embrace winter. You could also change your bedlinen, cushions or artwork up and embrace some winter tones and styles. Obviously it might not be in the budget to spend too much on seasonal purchases but any investment you make can go into rotation and then you could sell them for some cash to buy some summer pieces later in the year. Candles are great through winter, again it's about that connection with the elements and the soothing energy that a flame brings to a space. My last winter must have, which is actually and all year must have, is bringing in flowers and plants. This really is an all season must have, but I think it's especially important through winter. One of the main reasons we get down through winter is not being able to go outdoors and get our nature fix. Connecting with nature has been proven to increase our happiness so it's important to bring those endorphin providing elements indoors as much as possible. Plants and flowers are also visually up lifting and there is actual research that shows our sense of calm and happiness is increased just by having a plant in our line of sight! Cool hey!! So go grab some beautiful flowers from the garden or a market and cheer up you and your space!

Cooking 

Winter is the perfect season to bring out your Betty Crocker! I mean who wants to stand around a hot hoven in Summer? No one!!! Thats why Summer is great for eating out or BB'Qs but it is not great for all the delicous meals that require hanging by the stove.

Some of my favourite winter dishes are yummy full flavoured curry! My husband Jai makes the best best curry every, I seriously am obsessed with his curry! So when winter comes it's out with the french oven and in with spicey flavour bomb meals! 

My other favourtie is of course pumpkin soup!  I make a really delish pumpkin soup that I top with dill, sour cream, salt + pepper! I love smelling it simmer on the stove  on a winters day & I always serve with a crunchy bread.

Now for something sweet, my banana cake! Of course you can bake cakes in Summer too, but is it as nice as eating it in winter? No, it's just not as nice! When you serve up some warm cake, with melted butter and nice hot cup your favourite vice, some kind of mgic happens that you can never get in summer. Trust me, I have tested this theory, being the cake freak that I am, I tried to enjoy cake in summer and yes it is always yummy, I mean it's cake! But the experience is not as warming and soothing as it is on a cosey winters day. 

Reading

Picture it..... It's Saturday morning, your sitting in your cosy bed, or in a gorgeous reading nook, reading your favourite blog ;) You hear the rain on the roof and you can see the trees blowing in the wind through your window. Cosy overload!! Again this can be embraced through summer, in a hammock under a tree, ok I'm feeling that could be winning me over, but I still think winter provides the best atmosphere to really get engrossed in a good book. I mean in winter, your stuck in side, your mind is not wondering whether you should jump back into the pool like it would in summer. It's not distracted with too many other options so theres a good chance you could really get completely taken away into some amzing other world. One of my favourite reads of late is Gabby Bernsteins "The Universe Hads your Back" and I have aslo just finished reading " In the Company of Women" by Design Sponges' Grace Bonney. I'm more into reading about people who inspire me more than non fiction, but I'm open to any suggestions if you have some you would like to share below.

Lighting

Lighting plays a huge role in affecting our mood and a great way to warm up a space and bring an injection of cosy is through lamps and lighting. If you have dimmers, then you will instantly know what I mean. As soon as you turn down the wattage in your lighting a sense of calm instantly comes over you. This is also another reason I feel too much sunlight can be stressful. Having excessive, glare + bright light as been known to cause headaches and actual emotional stress. So what's an easy way to embrace this idea and warm up in winter?  Bring in more lamps! Add a few around the living room or by the sofa or reading chair, make sure you have them in your bedroom, by your bed or dresser. I have one in my kitchen which instantly makes cooking in my kitchen more enjoyable. Experiment with this and see just how much you can change things up to make winter time feel like a cosy treat rather than a boring burden.  One important thing to note, use warm white globes, not cool. Cool white has a similar affect as too much sunshine and will make you feel like your in a hospital. It can feel cold + clinical and the idea of bringing in lamps is really to make you feel all warm and relaxed during this time of year.
