it’s always been strange to luciel that androids were programmed with personality traits. he knows that siwoo, in particular, was programmed with ‘honesty’. though that somehow came with ‘curiosity’, which could be a good thing since he’s a scanner-type android. he still never quite understood why androids needed such things, but questioning the council of humanity’s decisions never once cross his mind.

he’s just a battler-type android, all he needs to do is to follow instructions and keep an eye on siwoo.

they’ve been assigned as partners for a long time. luciel is good at coordinating with fellow androids, but with siwoo sometimes…. they ran into trouble. one of those troubles had led to their present situation: a freaky head plastered onto a sales vehicle requesting them to find some flowers.

“it sounds suspicious, we should report it it immediately,” luciel told siwoo.

“huh? we should give it a try, hello? it looks fucking weird but it seems… nice?” the other blinked his eyes at him. “this is my duty, let’s just go with it. i need to know more.”

luciel took some time to process a decision, then sighed, “i should also tell headquarters to remove your ‘vulgarity’.”

“what the- fuck you???” siwoo responded, probably on purpose.

nevertheless, they went ahead with it. they had no reason to refuse its requests anyways, perhaps they could discover more information about the machine lifeforms they were fighting to send the data back to headquarters. siwoo made the right decision.

after finding those flowers three times, it brought them to a place underground.

it’s dark, which is natural for an underground place. yet luciel couldn’t help but to remain still for a brief moment to take in the scenery lighted up by a field of glowing white flowers.

the cart lifeform sounded extremely happy and started rambling about its past, how it once had a main body that split into pieces to protect earth. it’s weird, none of this was recorded the library of data. and that is what siwoo said.

“and i thought we knew everything… hey, nii-san, let’s go look around,” siwoo goes head to explore, even though there isn’t actually much other than a bunk bed with a roof right in the middle of the field. according to the cart, a human used to live in it. “that’s weird, this bunk bed feels familiar…” siwoo mumbles, crossing his arms while staring at the bed.

luciel stays silent.

“it’s my first time seeing this flower, but why does it feel so fami-”

“oh! this is a lunar tear!” the cart interrupts abruptly. “these used to grow all over the place, like the desert… but eventually the sand took over the soil and it stopped growing. this was a dear friend’s favourite flower. you can have one though! i’ll give one to you!”

“really? that sounds like a sad story… but thanks. hey, luciel nii-san, why are you so quiet for?”

luciel scoffs at him, “reporting to headquarters about what we discovered, of course.”

yorha no.8 type S has rediscovered lunar tears. he is showing signs of recovering his 32nd life’s memories data. proceed for execution?

memories. no, that’s wrong. how could luciel make that kind of mistake? androids only have data that can be implanted, altered, or deleted; they were nothing like memories.

luciel’s finger hovers over the ‘send’ button. his eyes turn to lay upon siwoo, chatting away happily with the cart. he’s always wondered… what was the personality trait that was programmed into himself? androids shouldn’t feel pain or remorse when they destroy a fellow android, and yet at his core it feels… crushing.

it’s for the sake of humanity, he tells himself in his mind repeatedly.

“hey, what’s up?”

the executioner battler-type android smiled.

“did you know, lunar tears are said to grant wishes?”

“no way, are you serious?!”

“mmh. you were the one who told me a long time ago.”

luciel never believed that a flower could grant wishes, only god could do that. but once upon a time during the duration of siwoo’s 19th life… he foolishly thought it was possible.

My top 10 OSTs from kdramas of 2017.

We’re only 9 days away from the end of the year so I’my figuring out my favorite things from 2017. I decided to only choose one song per drama otherwise half of the list would be OSTs from Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and the rest from Prison Playbook. I'm only considering songs of dramas that started in 2017 so that's why you won't find any Goblin songs. 

Honorable Mention: O.When-How to say. Suspicious Partners was cute and intense at times. This OST is a bubbly having butterflies over someone type of song. Actually the only song of that drama I remember looking for after I listened to it when the first couple of episodes aired.

10. Yoo Seung Eun-Hidden tears. Ruler had a bunch of songs with a very dramatic epic feel but this OST is the one that reminds me of that drama the most.

9. The One- Because it's you. This song is perfect for a historical drama. My sassy girl started not so great but it kind of won me over. Big part of that was the chemistry between the lead couple and I really enjoyed this OST even if it is the typical kdrama ballad. Gummy's Because I love you is also great.

8. Yangpa-Aurora. Man to man was a JTBC drama that definitely started with a bang and it kind of fell off in the second part. The love story was heavily criticized by netizens. Whether you agree or not, this OST stands on its own. VIXX's Take Your Hand and Park Boram ft Basick's Like a destiny were really good too!

7. Joy-Yeowooya. Surprisingly The liar and his lover released really pretty songs. Most of them by Red Velvet's Joy given that her character is a singer and therefore she sings frequently in the drama. From those songs Yeowooya is my favorite.

6. Melomance-Feel like falling in love. Because this is my first life was among other things about giving up on love and yet being unable to help falling in love. This song is exactly about that.  Also check out Moon Seongnam's This life  and Heejin's Shelter.

5. Savina&Drones -Glass bridge. This is my favorite OST from Bridge of the water god, a drama that had its ups and downs. Glass bridge was a mesmerizing song that captures the supernatural and longing aspects of the storyline. The reason why by Yang Da Il is also amazing by the way.

4. Chen-I'm not ok. Honestly this is the OST released in 2017 I've listened to the most this year however I didn't place it higher because Missing 9 was not a drama that I remember the songs looking back. As a side note, I've noticed koreans tend to listen to sad songs when they're down, I'm actually the opposite so I never got it. However since Jonghyun's passing I've been listening to this song a lot. The lyrics just fit my mood these days and Chen's voice is always so soothing. So I guess I've finally understood the concept of a healing song. Punch’s When My Loneliness Calls You is also a stand out.

3. Bewhy-Ok. When this song dropped I was so surprised they chose a purely hip hop song as theme for Prison's Playbook. They play it at the start of every episode so this is definitely the song of the drama for me. Mino ft Kang Seung Yoon's Door is art and Heize's Would be better is also a stand out.

2. Suzy- I love you boy. It's just such a pretty song. When it first played in the drama I went nuts and started to frantically searching for it and then I realized it was Suzy. Actually While you were sleeping was filled with great music, another highlight for me is Henry's It's You.

1. Every Single Day-Super power girl. This is a pretty simple song, catchy and you could argue there's better OSTs for this drama like Mamamoo's Double Trouble Couple or Suran’s Heartbeat but when I think of Strong Woman Do Bong Soon I definitely think of this song. It just makes me happy.

SUSPICIOUS PARTNER FULL OST

Cute, fun and flirty is exactly what comes to mind when I think of Touch Your Heart (aka Reach of Sincerity). A mix of mystery, crime and romance, this drama is the perfect choice for those who have previously enjoyed Suspicious Partner or would like to see an office rom-com that will make them feel all fuzzy on the inside (which I am a sucker for). Our FL portrayed by Yoo In-na is the real star (quite literally) of the drama whose charming personality will take over not just the ML's (Lee Dong Wook) heart but also ours! The drama is filled with secondary characters whose storylines are developed, great OSTs (including Make It Count by EXO's Chen and What If Love by Red Velvet's Wendy) and allows Goblin fans to see Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In-na finally have a happy ending.

Before we get into it:

Oh Yoon Seo (Yoo In-na) is a popular K-Drama actress, famous for her beauty and lack of acting skills. After getting involved in a scandal with the son of a chaebol family, Yoon Seo's acting career starts to decline. She hears that her favourite scriptwriter is looking to cast a lead female role for an upcoming drama series and sees this as her one window to re-enter the film industry. To gain experience for the role, Yoon Seo must work at a law firm for 3 months. She is hired at Always Law Firm where she meets Kwon Jung Rok (Lee Dong Wook) - star attorney who is also very grumpy. Yoon Seo works as Jung Rok's secretary who is not happy about the situation but ends up warming up to the charming actress and so their adventure begins.

When I initially read the drama's synopsis and watched the trailer I did not think there was much this show could provide me with. The plot seemed two-dimensional, the storyline pretty basic and I was scared I would hate the FL. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Warming - spoilers ahead :)

I loved that Yoon Seo - a very popular actress, and the "Universe's sweetheart" was indeed portrayed as a sweetheart. The FL had a lot of charm, she was adorable and so sweet. She did not act like a diva and underwent quite the character development (matured throughout the drama and became stronger) which I really liked.

Just like with any other stereotypical office K-drama rom-com our ML, Jung Rok was very grumpy and cold-hearted towards Yoon Seo and pretty much everyone else around him. This is something I might not necessarily like with this K-Drama trope, however, I do appreciate that the ML did warm up to Yoon Seo quite quickly and was able to bless us with his charming cute side for a big part of the drama.

Another thing I really enjoyed about Touch Your Heart was how quickly the romance between the OTP bloomed. It is not one of those shows where you wait an endless number of episodes for the couple to address their feelings for one another, but you do wait a while until you see their first kiss, date ... time. Overall, their relationship was very cute and quite mature. I loved the parts where Jung Rok would play all macho and stand up for Yoon Seo call her "my girl" and get jealous over the little things (like when Yoon Seo had to film a kissing scene).

The secondary characters are also quite fun in this drama and their storylines are developed which is something I appreciated, because many times, the secondary characters in K-Drama's do not get enough screen time or appreciation. I really enjoyed that Always Law Firm's CEO Yeon (Oh Jung Se) was Yoon Seo's secret fanboy and divorce lawyer Choi Yoon Hyuk's (Shim Hyung Tak) character development.

The drama is quite heavy with legal jargon and a number of cases - but personally, I found it quite interesting. I like when there's some mystery in dramas and I liked that there were many different aspects of law portrayed.

My only issue was the Lee Gang Joon (Jay Kim) storyline. Personally, seeing as he was the main "villain" of the K-Drama, I did not see much development in his storyline and the problem was resolved pretty quickly and quite dryly. In one of the first few episodes we see him, as an unknown man stalking Yoon Seo and even reading her messages on his computer - having access to her phone, but after than one time it was shown this isn't mentioned again. And we do have to wait a certain amount of time before we see him again. I would have personally liked to see maybe a little bit more action when it came to Gang Joon and his whole obsession with Yoon Seo.

The drama's ending was also very positive and uplifting. It was nice to see the OTP together, out and in the open. The only thing I was very sad about was that we did not get to see Park Ji Hwan's character (Lee Doo Sub, office manager) and Jang So Yeon's character (Yang Eun Ji, legal secretary) have a happy ending - although I am hoping that somewhere, in the long run, she was able to open up her heart towards him.

2017 Mid-Year OST Selection

I wanna share more of the squad™ (Madeleine-Espresso-Latte-Almond-Roguefort with the addition of Creampuff and Walnut too) headcanons because.

-First of all, I gotta say that when I draw them I'll most likely start my music play with either "What's going on?" or "Life goes on" both from the P5 ost, idk, settles a good mood for them. (like right now, as I write this the latter is playing)

-As said before, none of Madeleine, Espresso nor Almond (nor the girls) know that Roguefort is Phantom Bleu, Madeleine and Espresso both see something suspicious about them, and Almond and Walnut, with who Roguefort spends the most time with, might or might not have seen a few similarities between the two, but the idea has never crossed their minds.

The only one that knows, as also said before, is Latte. Although she was a little wary of it at the beginning, is this what made her and Rogue good friends, she is the only one that knows (for now) after all. Roguefort is someone that can trusted it seems.

-As an addition to that, is not uncommon for Roguefort to come into Latte's atelier as Phantom bleu at night if they see she is still awake (is weird to happen, but sometimes it does). In those nights those two just talk, Latte asking about how the place where they all live in is like at night. And sometimes Roguefort might use their shapeshifting abilities to try and copy their friends and do bad impressions of them, both them and Latte laughing a lot afterwards.

-I do headcanon Walnut and Creampuff to be really good friends. For some reason the idea of Walnut asking Creampuff to be her crime-solving-partner when they grow up is cute to me...

-They all share a collective braincell, is Espresso, but it doesn't always works at it's fullest so they are all still idiots.

-Going back to Latte and Roguefort because their friendship is something I love. Latte once, early on when she had just found out about the secret, if they were keeping up an act to take advantage of the other. This Roguefort answered that ''that wouldn't be a fair game now, would it?''. Whatever Roguefort finds about the others that can be deemed as a weakness they don't use it against the others (useless is some kind of urgent scenario where they need one of the others to do something, but they try to avoid that at best). This is what proved to Latte that they can be trusted, as they also shapeshift into any of the others way less (especially espresso, they know they would be killed on sight if they do).

-More with Latte, from what it says in the game I think she helped Espresso in the development of coffee magic, so both have known each other for a long time. People often confuse them as siblings, truth is, they are not, they just act that way. Espresso may say that Latte is a bother, but he really appreciates his friendship with her, as well as he thinks of her as a great mage too.

-Espresso got to meet Creampuff in one of the meetings, before him and Madeleine started to date and before the group got to meet Roguefort. She seemed a little intimidated by him at the beginning, and Espresso had thought some of her movements at the moment to cast spells a bit clumsy, but he still saw some promising future in the young mage. Creampuff eventually started to stop begin intimidated by the coffee mage, she respects him greatly, and she warmed up a bit more after Madeleine was brought one afternoon when she was visiting Latte and Espresso and Madeleine came by.

-Madeleine tends to shower the young girls with gifts when he can (either small things like candy, something one or both of them might have said they wanted, or just take them to a shopping trip). Well, he tends to give gifts to every single one of the group if he has the chance (which is pretty often tbh). Each one of them must have at last ten gifts from him, if not more.

-The group was pretty surprised when once Almond brought with him not only Walnut, who wanted to meet with Creampuff in the atelier to then go walk around, but also Roguefort. It was a few weeks after a pretty bad night after work, the detective had been close to collapsing on the ground on his way home when Roguefort, who had been off work, saw him, approached and offered help, something the detective first rejected but had to accept as he almost tripped and fell face first. The thief was well aware of how tired Almond was half the time he saw him (it wasn't as much as they saw Walnut in the middle of a chase of crime scene, they mostly had seen him when they weren't dressing up in their cape and top hat), and they were also well aware of the danger it was to engage with the detective when in their normal self, but begin honest they were worried of Almond's well begin. The two of them started to see each other more after that small encounter, mostly because Roguefort decided to stop avoiding Almond when they were off work.

-Once, Almond arrived really really late at the meeting, Roguefort behind him saying "he got caught up in various cases today", and the detective looked absolutely exhausted. Just as he sat down his cellphone started to sound with an entering call. Roguefort frowned, Latte sighed, Espresso and Madeleine exchanged looks and just as Almond was about to answer Madeleine snatched his phone and answered the call with "Hello, this is Sir Madeleine Cookie of house Madeleine, Detective Almond was requested to help both me and the renowned coffee mage Espresso Cookie with an issue we have at the borders of the city, so, may I ask for you to not call useless there's a problem as big as a dragon attacking the place, thank you and good evening" and hung. Latte and Roguefort were laughing hard, Espresso was chuckling and Almond was looking at Madeleine in complete disbelief.

Random HCs: Kozume Kenma (I)

➣ Kenma canonically gets cold easily so he probably owns a lot of thick, fuzzy thermal socks. His favorite socks, however, are liners and crew socks with cute video game characters or mascots. He collects them, honestly. He has a full Animal Crossing themed set, a pair of nerdy Legend of Zelda pairs, an adorable Neko Atsume pair, and even some Sanrio ones. However, he is slightly self-conscious about it so he only wears the cute ones at home or hides them under his clothing when he goes out.

➣ Kenma is always cold pt. 2: electric boogaloo—his hands get cold but he hates wearing gloves because they don’t register on touch screens when he plays games. Because of that, he developed a habit of buying oversized sweatshirts so he can have sweater paws that keep him warm while allowing him to use his phone. It is v v adorable but pls don’t point it out or he’ll get self-conscious. 

➣ When he’s nervous or thinking hard while playing a video game, Kenma has a habit of nibbling the edges of his sleeves. He literally has no idea he does it until he glances down and realizes there’s a little dark spot where his sleeve is when. If he’s in public, he’ll try to hide the spot with his hand out of worry that people will notice and think it’s gross. 

➣ When he’s happy, Kenma hums along to game OSTs he hears in his head. On warm weekend mornings, the rare times he’s out of bed before noon, he usually hums to some K.K. Slider song and at night it's an orchestral piece from Kingdom Hearts. Back in high school, the team would sometimes hear it while he wasn’t aware he was doing it but they all silently agreed never to mention it because it was such a rare occurrence and they were just happy Kenma seemed to be in a good mood. Lev almost ruined it more than once and Kenma started getting suspicious when Kuroo would give him a knowing look and ask if something good happened recently.

➣ Kenma generally doesn’t put much beyond the bare minimum effort into things that aren’t important to him and he prefers simplicity so he usually won’t bother with fashion accessories or beauty products. However, if you, Kuroo, or Hinata give him something like a bracelet or ring, he will wear it. Unless he is required to take it off for some reason, he will keep it on 24/7 so it has to be waterproof and durable!

➣ For the same reasons as above, Kenma doesn’t bother with nail care (something Kuroo was always on him about back when he was a setter). His nails tend to be long and he won’t cut them until they become a nuisance like when he’s playing on a keyboard. However, if you ask to give him a manicure, he’ll quietly let you (as long as you don’t use an obnoxious color). 

➣ Kenma is actually quite sentimental and saves screenshots from conversations he’s had with you or friends that make him smile. When he feels sad he sometimes goes through them and feels his heart flutter when he reads a particularly thoughtful compliment or expression of how much he means to someone. When you guys start dating, he absolutely makes an album on his phone just to save your pictures and conversation screenshots. He won’t tell you about that if he doesn’t have to, though. 

➣ He listens to those Lo-Fi hip hop or “chill study beats to listen to”  when he wants background noise. At some point he rabbit-holed into a bunch of vaporwave music on YouTube so now it frequently shows up in his recommendations. Kenma doesn’t know many specific artists or songs, he just listens to whatever sounds good, but he also isn’t picky and never complains when you play your own music, regardless of the genre. If you play anything enough times, kenma will subconsciously start humming it at random times so you lose your shit the first time you hear the familiar beat of WAP being mumbled from across the room as he plays on his Switch LOL

➣ Eventually, Kenma gets a few tattoos. They are all black and grey, clean lines and tastefully done. Most are video game references, maybe one that reminds him of his old high school volleyball days. He won’t protest if you want to get matching tattoos, as long as they aren’t lame or poorly designed. Sometimes he finds himself touching or glancing down at wherever your couple tattoos are located, finding comfort in them when he’s stressed and overwhelmed or missing your presence. 

➣ Kenma takes long showers to dissociate. Please shower before him, he absolutely will use up all of the hot water. 

➣ He doesn’t actually care that much about what he wears so any stylish clothing he has is usually a gift from Kuroo, or a freebie from a brand partnering with his company and looking for promotion on his streams.

➣ Even when he’s on a losing streak, Kenma isn’t the type to yell or break things over video games. He simmers quietly, maybe whispers insults under his breath, but he never yells. It really annoys the enemy team when they realize they can’t get a reaction out of him lol. 

➣ Kenma’s absolute favorite position is sitting between your legs, learning back onto your chest while he plays a game or you two watch a movie together. He loves the warmth and is comforted by the faint vibrations of your heartbeat against his chest—will definitely fall asleep like that if he stays there too long. Because of how much it relaxes him, when you seem really stressed or sad, he pulls you into a similar position, holding you against his body and hoping you can feel his heartbeat.
